1. Introduction: Hello and welcome to the class here. I'm going to teach you how to draw a very important part of human anatomy. We're going to draw the social. This is a very important subject for any artist system. Torso is the core off the body, so it helps to judge the balance off your character for discuss. You only means a pencil and a piece of paper or sketchbook. Or, if you prefer to do this digitally, the drawing tablets and software of your show. It's like photo shop game mongoose to do whatever you like. I'll take you step by step in, drawing the torso in different position so that she can. You can draw your torso in any position you want. I'll also include an assignment at the end so that you can practice right away what you've learned and shared with us. I can't wait to see it and are you ready to begin? Let's get started
2. Course Overview + Bonus!: Welcome to the class. I'm very happy to have you here. And I hope you learn a lot with me. If you have any questions, feel free to post its in the discussions below. And I'll forget to do your assignments at the end and posted in the projects section. I'm always happy to see your drawings. And I love them. So, uh, very quickly, I'm going to break down what you're going to do in this class. So we're going to start trying out or so in front of you. And if you watched my other glasses, you know that I always start with sketch lines and then we clean everything up with final lines and finally Regala it. So we're going to do this in process here. Then we're also going to draw orders on this site and back position so you can have a good turnaround off the torso, and it's mainly it Now, before we begin, I just want to give you some reference images. So I have this pain tree sport that I've made for you that you can use to practice your drawings. So do uses images for reference. That's what they're here for, for you to learn and improve your drawings. So now let's get to the drawing parts. Let's begin
3. Female Torso Anatomy - Front View: hello and welcome. Today. We're going to draw some female torsos and, as always, we're going to start with a front view. So just a quick note before we start. If you study the male torsos already, you already know that we used a lot of straight lines, and there aren't a lot off contrasts off weight and curves, and now it's going to be the opposite. So we're going to have a lot off curves. The female body has X occurs at the member. That usually doesn't, so we're going to explore that here off course. Since we usually do a more cartoony style, we tend to exaggerate. This shapes a lot, So let's see what I'm talking about that I have here my documents. As always, I'm going toe create here a layer. I have my brush for sketching for our shapes, and that's what we're going to start with. So let's start reads almost like an inverted triangle. Don't worry too much about your shapes right now, and we can end. We set off pointy. We make here almost half a vicious circle. If you want, you can even draw the circle here so you can see better. So now we have your most of our upper body here and now we need to make a shape for our waste. So around this part here we make this shape I'm going a bit away from or guidelines. But I'm just I just need to move it the bits up. And we're good if you want. You can even make your online. So you know where the medallists and there we go. Very simple shapes, like always. I want us to be very easy for you in very simple. So you're not a free off drawing. Drawing is not a big monster. You can always simplify it and adapted to yourself. So if you do find another ships that you more comfortable with, do shed it with me. I always pleased to see what you can come up with. So we have here the upper body a bit off the waste and now being it to at the breast area which ISS somewhere around here. So we can even make you a line. No off course. There are many types off breasts and many sizes, so you can play with it as much as you want. I made a very regular size here, but we could do it. Smaller weaken couldn't make it bigger. However, you decided the most important thing to know is its position. So it should be around this area here and his art of mind shapes for our female torso. Now, if you want, we can just adds here a bit off those shoulders and arms just for reference. And there we go. We have our shapes for female torso in the front view, and now we can go for our sketch. So I'm going to create here another layer, choose a darker color. And now we can sketch up our our torso and at some details, and then we can do our fund align. So let's do this nice. An easy tikus. Much time issue needs. So I'm going to start here. Well, wrists once again, you don't need to worry too much about your lines right now, unless that's your cell. That are a lot of artists that have very clean sketches. I, for one am very message sketching, so it works as well. Off course, This isn't the only type off body there is, but I'm just making a regular size So you have the shapes. You learned the shapes, and then you can try other kinds larger and larger torso, thinner torso however you like. So I have here might main shapes. Now you can just make here a little bit off a line and then t and belly, but and we are done. So once again, just doing here are shoulders and a bit off the arms. Now all you're missing is are funny lines, so let's get on with it. If you're familiar with the Beatles already, you already know that you just need to take up the brush you like to work with. If you're not sure yet, what kind of rush you like to use, just try them out. Try the ones that come with your software until you're comfortable with one. It's always nice to try out new things and then, very calmly you're not on the clock. You can start trying your queen lines for your torso. As you can see, I dio um, repeat my lines a lot, So don't worry if you to the same. It's completely normal, and it might take some tries until you're happy with your line. So just practice then. So now all I'm missing is here Some lines, if you want. You can also add some, uh, lines for the Brussels. Some lines here on the side. Just don't forget the belly. But so there we go. We have here very simply done or female torso. Now, if you wish to, we can just very quickly cholera it. So I'm going to pick up here the skin color tone and and we can add or color over here if you get to the end of your drawing and you see that something might be a bit off, you have to select until that's very useful. And you can move around certain things that you're not 100% happy like I'm doing right now and edit them and move them around until there's somewhere where you like. So I just tried moving my breasts here, repeats lower and let's see if I made a good decision. Are nuts. So let me add here the color again and let's see if it looks better. So yes, I think I like it better this way, so I'm going to live it like it's so yes, if you're not yet used to the software you're using. Try and explore the tools you have to select into this very useful for when you're finished with your lines or even while you're sketching and you see that something itself, you can select that part. It's you don't think it's in the right place and move it around and change your lines a little bit afterwards. It's really used easy to use, and you don't have to repeat the whole Troy. So we added our color here and now we just we can just add some shadows on a lot. We can just have a little bits over here that said that Are Light is coming from here can live things even a little bit sketchy. If you wish to a little bit, you swell. We are done with the front view for our female torso. So next we're going to draw the torso in the sense you so else you next
4. Drawing the Torso from the Side: All right. So welcome back. We've covered the front view for female torso, and now we're going to go for the side view. So once again, we're going to keep things very simple, as simple as possible. And we're going to start with our shapes. So for decide, you were going to have something every thinner than with the front, and we're going to have some different shapes as well. So let's see. We're going to start with Ah, shape. Almost a bean shaped so something like this. So rounded shape. Very weird one. It's not even a pain either. Almost looks like seeds, but tried to make the same kind of shape that I'm doing. If you want, you can even make, like this one circle here and another circle down here and make a curve line like this. So one circle another circle from the coastline. And now you can unite your shapes. Yes, something like this. I'm just going to raise this part here. And so we have the upper part off torso. We can also make here here this shape where the rest will be. And now we have Here are waistline. So, like I said, It's very exaggerated shape and now we can even and here a bit of her neck just so we know what's happening around here. So we have here are shape. I hope this wasn't too complicated. These shapes are a big difference and can be a bit harder to tackle if you're not used to them already. So if you need toe, practice the shapes some for some time before going to the sketch. Do. If you're comfortable with your shapes and when you're ready, you can sketch it up into the clean lines. So let's see our sketch lands now we have here are neck and help here arrest. So it's this shape here that we did. Do we have here a breast? This is a very pinup post, really? And now you're missing here just to be with shoulder. So like I said, we exaggerate Here. This curves a lot and Martin So now we can do our final lines. All right, so let's start once again, take your time. I'm starting in the neck area this time and then going down just following my previous lines between my lines until I'm happy with them. If you happen to have around it or so many Candies are very useful toe practice at school. We had quite a lot of weeks off practice with this rare. We just had this manikins in our class and would stare at them and draw them for weeks. For practice, issue DOn't have well, you don't need to. You can always search and interest, or just Google some images. And if you want just this default position, you can look up for manic in images. They have usually very simple positions. So if you're starting drawing the human body, this goes for male and female. It's a good place to start with. If you don't wants complicated positions and you're trying toe, understand the shapes off the torso. So PRT with our final lines or clean lines, and now we can once again tolerate. So I'm going to pick up here my paint bucket as always, so it's faster if you have. If you do line out and you have a big space that you need toe paint, you can just grab your paint back it and use it. It's faster, and then you can pick up your brush again. And Philip, any spaces that might be missing any color. And you're done. In this case, it's really useful because we just echoed this one very quickly. So once again, once we're done, reads the color the base color be at some shadows so very quickly I'm still following t the same light sources before. So our light source is coming from the right, which means our shadows will be on this side. Very simple. We can need to complicate right now and they're ago. You have here what or so in a sight. Few Very simple and very easy. So practice this one. And whenever you're ready, we're going to draw the female torso in the back few.
5. Drawing the Back of the Torso: all right, So the less part off learning or female torso before going to the assignment is drawing are female torso in a back view. So, as I said before, our ships are going to be very similar to the ones we've done at the beginning. I can even come up here and show them to you. So you already know. The biggest difference is that we don't have this breast shape over here because the arms are going to be in France off the breast, so we don't really see them from behind unless we have our arms really apart. But otherwise, it's very simple. Remember that the most important part when learning and you part of the body or a new object is to learn your shapes. Once you have the basic shapes off anything you want to draw, you can do it with your eyes closed. It's all about understanding that those shapes and then it becomes very easy for you. So, as always, I'm going to be giving you the shapes, return and sketch and clean lines so you can always have something to go back to and look at it and read this. So let's start it once again. We're going to start with this Almost a triangle shape, pleads around it and looks a bit tilted to the side right now. But don't worry. We take care of that. We can always use or free transform to, and we can tilt it back to where we want it. So this to trapeze iam shape right here. Like I said, we're not going to make the shape for the breasts. So we are mostly done and we can just add here our shoulders and the big softie arms and the right we're done. And once again, practice the shapes as much as you need until you are comfortable with them and then go put a sketch and final lens. So we are aimed sketch face now. So we have here cursed in this time from the front view. We had the stop lines going inside the body from the bag. This doesn't happen. It's a bit of the opposite. We can see a little bit off this West's lines coming here, appearing insides like this, so we can also add some details like you so you can make here a bit off a line. There So we see a bit of the spine and ideally, the spine in here and also you can and here just a little bit near the butts. So now all we are missing, As for details, will be our shoulder blades here. So we are finished with our sketch lines. We cannot draw our final lines, changing up anything that we want to change. These are very simple lines and very quick to to drop. And there we go. We are turn with our lines for our pick for you. So all we're missing right now is adding the color. So, of course, if you do decide to draw some some rather big press, you could see a bit off them coming out of here, for example. But following the ones we did is they are very regular, so we couldn't really see them from being hacked. So I'm going to add a color here once again, pick up the buckets, the rent book goods and at some cold. And we have here the tree mind views for the female dorsal, and now you can practice them as much as you want used the images that I give you a sri. If rinse the shape, one specially ends to look up for some images for reference. If you want to try different positions once you already know how to draw, well, this one's you can experiment a bit more. I hope you had fun with this. I hope you practiced Issa lots, so I was soon next in the assignments.
6. Let's Practice! (Don't skip this!): All right. So let's get on with the assignment. This will be helpful to you so that you can grab what you learn and use the rial life example To improve your drawing skills. I'm giving you these referenced images for you to use. Simply grab one off them and draw it. Use everything that we learned, starting with the base shape, sketching it out and then cleaning up the lines and coloring. I think as long as you need, there's no timer here. Once you're done posted up. I was shaking it out as soon as possible. I can't wait to see your drawings. Now go do it.
7. Conclusion (for Now!): Hello again and thank you for taking this class. I hope you've learned a lot about drawing to the and that this has been helpful for you. If there's something you think I could do to make this class better to let me know And if it like, leave a review, it really means the world to me. And I'm always looking for feedback. All right, that's about it. Thanks again for watching. And if you haven't And you're interesting drying other parts of the human body animals and other things to shake my other classes, and I'll see you soon.
