1. Class Introduction and tools: What's up, everybody.
This is Yi. Welcome to another
step by step tutorial. Today, I'm going to
teach you how to draw ultra instinct gocu
from dragonbll Super. We're going to use
copic markers or alcohol based markers
for the coloring. And after that, we
are going to use colored pencils to draw
an awesome around them. So without further ado,
let's get started, and by the end of this class, make sure to submit your drawing as well so you can
get my feedback.
2. Drawing and Inking Goku : What's up, everybody? This is Yi and today
we are going to draw mastered ta
instinct guckoo. Okay, so before
we'll get started, make sure to check my
description box where you can see all the materials I'm going to use
for this tutorial. As you can tell, I already
drew a perfect square. Each side is 3 centimeters, but you can draw it in any size. You want to just make sure to
use a suitable paper size. Now you don't really
have to use this square. I mostly recommend on using
shapes and guidelines. However, if you're a beginner, that's a great way to keep the right proportions
and the symmetry. That being said, we are going to start by drawing the
shape of the space. It's going to be a
three quarters pose. Now I'm going to use this
guideline to mark the center of his face and then we'll add the wrinkles
between his eyes. We'll draw his eyebrow
just like that. As you can see, it gets
thicker towards the edge. Then simply draw three lines and make sure to draw the
bottom line with an arc. I'm going to add the cheek marks and the bump above his eye and, of course, the iris
and the pupil. Awesome, and it will do the
same for the left side. Only this time, it will appear smaller because
it's further away. Next, we're going to draw the nose simply by
drawing four lines, but make sure not to
draw lines too pointy and we'll add the
mouth really close to the nose with
a tiny, tiny gap. Indicates bottom lip, and
then we can add the ears. I'm just going to
indicate this ear right there because we can't
see a lot of it. And for the left ear, just going to draw the shape
and add all the details. Awesome. So now we
can draw the hair, but first I'm going to indicate
the neck just like that. Then I'm going to
add four spikes and a little curve. Gonna add one individual
hairline here, and then five more spikes
on the opposite side. Awesome. And now we can add
the spikes that covers face. Covers eye Bit. And don't forget this spike right there. Awesome. So once we
are done with that, we're going to add some
random lines to make it look more detailed and we'll do that by using the direction
of the spike. Awesome. Once we
are done with that, we can focus on the torso. But first, we're going to
draw the neck muscles. Then we'll draw the traps. Right. So first, I'm gonna
indicate the shape, of course. Right. Then I'm going to draw the chest and
indicate the color. And now we can add some
crises to create the shirt. I'm going to indicate the
shirt on the left side. And I'm going to connect the
shoulder with the traps. And as you can see, I'm connecting the
chest to the bicep. Next, I'm going to refine the tricep and the
shoulder muscles, and I'll do the same
for the left side. Awesome. So now we can go ahead and add all the
quizzes to the shirt. And we'll add the holes
and the tails, as well. And then we'll draw
his torn shirt. Okay, a lot of pointy edges. Right. Now we'll add the belt and we'll give it some rises by drawing some random lines
from side to side. Right. Awesome. So now I'm gonna give some details to the shirt simply by
adding some tears. And we are done
with the sketching. So now it's time for
the inking process. Okay, so I'm going to
use 0.1 for the body and 0.05 for the
face and the hair. And as you can see, for
the inking process, I'm going to rotate the page. I'm going to take my time, and I'll try not to screw it up. And the best advice I
could give you if you are having trouble with
the inking process, take a piece of paper,
draw some scrambles, take the pen, go
all over the lines. This really improves your
inking skills. Trust me. Awesome. Once we are done
with the inking process, I'm going to take the
notorious charcoal eraser and get rid of all the lead. The reason I use the
charcoal eraser, not a normal eraser, it's because it doesn't
remove much of the ink. Now, in case you still
got some graphite, you can use the
exquisite eraser stick. For those tiny areas, the notorious could not erase.
3. Coloring Goku : Awesome. So once it's
clean and smooth, we can start the
coloring process. So these are the tools I'm
going to use for the coloring. If you don't have markers, you can use color
pencils or just use a regular pencil and
work with shading. I'm going to use copic markers. Those are alcohol based markers, which means they can
blend very well. If you'll check your
top left of the screen, you can see the exact number
of copy I'll be using. So I'm going to start
by coloring the belt. I'm going to use three
tons of blue for that. We're going to start
with the brightest one. Oh as you can see, I'm going from the
brighter tone, B 24 to the darkest tone, B 28. Now I'm going to
use the mid tone, and I'm going to blend it
nicely with the bright tone. Now I'm going to use
the darker tone, and I'm going to add some
shade from the shirt. And finally, we'll do some blending with
the brightest tone. Awesome. And now I'll do the same process for
the orange shirt. Again, starting with
the brightest one. Then moving to the mid tone, trying to get a nice blend. Finally, adding the darker
tone to create more contrast. And then if you want, you can use some blending. Awesome. So now we
can colour the shirt, and as you can tell, I'm coloring with the
direction of the shape. So we're going to start with the buttontone and then
move to the mid tone. Now I'm going to add some contrast using
the darkest tone. Now I'm going to
use the mid tone again to get more saturation, so I'm going to add more layers. Okay, so as you can see, I went over the line a bit. I got some blue on
the orange area. So not to worry,
in this scenario, what you want to do is take the colorless vendor and just
soak the ink from the area. Sincere apologies
for my wild hair. It's really tough to draw when you got a camera
above your head. Okay, so I'm going to use the brightest tone again
to blend the colors. And then I just go
by the fill of it. So I'm going to add some more saturation with the mid tone. And I feel like I need
to add more creases, so I'm going to take
the darkest tone again and this time, I'm going to use the chisel tip. Awesome. So once we are
satisfied with that, we can move on to the skin. So again, I'm going
to use three colors. I'm going to start with
the brightest one, and I'm going to leave
some blank areas just to create a nice glow. Next, I'm going
to use the mitone to mark the shaded areas. As you can see, this is
a different shaded style as opposed to Dragonbll Z. And once I'm done with that, I'm going to use the darkest
tone for the darkest areas. Awesome. And I'm going to
do the exact same process for the remaining parts
and for the left side. So again, I'm starting
with the Brist one. I'm going to leave
some blank areas to create a nice blowing effect. I'm going to add
the mid tone and then finish up by using
the darkest tone. As you can see, I'm not
using blending here because I want to maintain
that strong contrast. Awesome. So once we
are done with that, I'm going to do the same process for the neck and the chest. And as you can tell,
I'm going to rotate the page just to have my
natural hand movement. I recommend you to do the same. It's much more comfortable to color that way,
in my opinion. Awesome. So now we can
focus on the face. So again, the same process, I'm going to leave
some highlights on the areas that sticks out more, which means they
will get more light, which are the bumps
above the eye, the cheeks, the nose, and the bottom lip. Now, usually I do the
shading like Yue Takahashi. The other style, that's
the style I love the most. But for this joint,
I decided to do it in the newer style just because this is how
they first showed him in his mastered
ultra instinct form. And once we are done
with that, again, we are going to take
the darkest stone and color all those
tiny shaded areas. Cool. Once we are
done with that, we can colour the eyes
and the eyebrows. I'm going to start by using
C one for the eyebrows. Then I'm going to colour the
iris and I'm going to leave a blank spot to create
an ice highlight. We'll move to the
meton which will be C three and just
color around it. As you can see, I'm using the colorless blender to soak the ink from
the highlight area, and then we'll add
the darkest stone C five just for the edges. Awesome. Once we are satisfied, we can go on and finally
color the majestic hair. For the hair, you
have two choices. You can either use
three colors of gray, which are the same
colors we used for the eye, meaning C one, C three and C five, or if you want to get
a much accurate look, just like the show, you can use purple gray tones or lavender. Those are V 31, VV 23, and V 29. The reason they are a bit more purple it's because
of the arrow. I'm going to go with
the second choice. I'm going to show
you how to color one spike or two spikes
for that matter, and then I'll do
the same process for the rest of the spikes. Again, I'm going to color with the direction of the spike. I'm going to leave a blank
area again for the highlight. Then we'll use the meton
for the shaded areas, and finally, the
darkest tone for the darkest areas that way
we get much more detail. Awesome. Now just follow the steps and we'll
continue when I'm done. Awesome. Now we are
done with the hair. So what we got left is to add some bruises and to
draw a majestic arrow. So first, I'm going to start
with the bruises, of course, and I'm going to take a black
pen and just draw a lot of tiny lines right next to each
other to create that dirt. Then I'm going to take
a red colored pencil and add some blood, something that is really
missing in nabos supo. And again, just like before, I'm going to draw them right
next to those black lines, but not directly added. So you want to spread it a bit. Awesome. So now we can move to the aura the final
part of this tutorial. So these are the colors
I'm going to use for that a. I'm going to use
color pencils as you can see. Now I'm going to focus
on a small area and I'm going to demonstrate
how I color the A. So what I'm going to do
is add particle shapes. I'm going to start with
the two keys because this is the most dominant
color in that a. If you'll check your top left, you can see the number of prisma color I'll
be using as well. So as you can see, just adding some particles right
next to each other, creating some volume using some light blue,
some light purple. Then I'm going to
add a soft layer with the two keys again and I'm going to blend it with a cloud blue and white pencil. Next, I'm going to
use some red and add a very few particles. Now we are going to
add a soft layer with the bright blue, creating some nice flames. And then it's just
a matter of fill. If you feel like you want
to add some more particles, do it, some more blending, just adjust it until
you're satisfied. Awesome. So now I'm going
to do the same process all around Gco and we'll
continue once I'm done. Awesome. So now that we got
a nice volume of particles, we can draw some energy
waves around Gokus body. So I'm going to start
with a bright purple, just color around his skin. Then I'll use a bright
blue for the shirt. And then some bright
purple again for the hair. Awesome. So to finish
up this totoal, yes, it's about to happen. We are going to
use the white pen to create those highlights. So on the arrow,
I'm going to draw the same particles
we were before, only using the white pen. And on his body, I'm
just going to draw those cone shaped energy things. And we are done, everybody. This is how you draw MUIGku
if you made it this far, you're real G. Congratulations. I hope you enjoyed
this tutorial, keeping awesome,
and I'll see you on the next video. Peace.
