1. Class Intro : What's up, everybody? This is Yi. Welcome to another step by step tutorial. Today, we are going to learn how to draw supersenTGku from dragonbll Z. In this tutorial, I'm going to teach you how to sketch Gucku using simple shapes. Then we'll move on to ink the entire drawing using inking pens. And finally, we're going to use copic markers or alcohol based markers for the coloring process. By the end of this class, I want you all to take a picture of Goku and submit it so I can give you some feedback. That's it. Let's get started. Enjoy the process. 2. How to sketch Goku: Now, as you can see, I drew a perfect square. Each side is 4 centimeters, but you can draw it in any size you want to. Just make sure to use a suitable paper size. We're going to draw Gucku in the frontal pose. I'm going to start by drawing those wrinkles between the eyes. Then we'll draw two curved lines to create the eyebrow. As you can see, it gets thicker towards the edge. We'll draw another curve for the bump above the e and then simply draw three lines to create the I, but make sure to draw the bottom line with a bit of a curve. Then we'll place the pupil at the center but slightly to the left. Add the check marks, and we'll do the same process for the left side, and if you're having trouble maintaining the right proportions, you can use a ruler. Mark the same distance. Awesome. Once we are done with that, we are going to draw the nose and we'll do that by drawing five lines just like I'm doing right now. Next, I'm going to draw the mouth, draw the letter M and draw it really, really close to the nose with a very tiny gap. Next, we'll indicate the bottom lip. Then we'll draw the shape of his face by using five lines. Awesome. So now we can draw the ears. So first, I'm going to start by drawing the shape or the ears, and then I'm going to add all the details. Okay. Next, we'll mark his hair line. And now what we want to do is draw three spikes of hair on the front. We'll start with the middle one, covering his eye a little bit. As you can see, I'm adding some random lines in the direction of the spike. Next, we'll draw the spike on the right. And then the spike on the left. Awesome. So now we are going to zoom out a bit, but first, we'll draw the neck just by drawing two curves. And now we can draw the rest of the hair. So first, I'm going to start by drawing three spikes on the left side and two spikes on the right side. Then I'm going to use this guideline in order to keep the right proportions of the hair. Now I can add the rest of the spikes without worrying about asymmetry. And just like before, we're going to add some lines in the direction of the ha. Awesome. So we are done with the face, and now we'll move on to the torso. But first, we'll draw the neck muscles and the trichia. Next, we'll draw those strap muscles simply by drawing two curves. Then I'm going to draw the upper chest and we'll cover it with the shirt underneath. We'll add two curves for the shoulder muscles. And now we'll draw the shirt on top. As you can see, I'm drawing two circles to indicate the placement of the shoulders. Then I'm continuing with the shape of the shirt on top, his gi. And once I got the overall shape, only then I'm adding the quises, the details. That's the most basic rule when you draw. You first want to get the overall shape, you want to get the proportions, right, the symmetry, and only then add all the details. Awesome. So now that we are done with the shirt with the Gi, we can add his arms. We'll start with the left arm. As you can see, I'm first starting with the shoulder, then I'm drawing the bicep, then the tricep, and the forearm. Now we'll add some details. We'll draw the sleeve of his shirt underneath. And again, if you want, you can use the wheeler to maintain the right proportions. So for example, as you can see, we can probably draw the left side a bit higher. Awesome next will draw his right arm. With the same process. I'm starting with the shoulder. Then I'm drawing the bicep. O the tricep, and then the fore arm. Adding the details. And we are not done yet, so we're going to draw one line here. Get rid of all the unnecessary lines and then add some creases from side to side. And we got the belt. So now we are really done with the sketching. 3. How to ink and color Goku: And we can move on to the next process, which is the inking process. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take a black pen with the tip size of 0.1 or 0.2. I'm going to hold the pen close to the tip with a firm grip. Then I'll rotate the page so I can have my natural hand movement. You got to have as much comfort as you can while inking because you want those lines to be accurate and crisp and just go all over the lines. I promise you that once you do a lot of inking, once you practice a lot, you will be better. Those are facts. I wasn't born, talented. I had to practice a lot until I got to this level of inking and obviously, I can probably improve much more. Awesome. So once we are done with the inking process, I'm going to take the notorious charcoal eraser, or you can use a regular eraser, whatever you have, and just go to get rid of all the lead. Okay, we want to clean the lead from the paper. That's important because later on, we use the copic markers, and we don't want to smear the lead because that will ruin the page. Awesome. So once it's clean and fresh, we can start to use the Copic markers. So the Copic markers are alchol based markers, which means they can blend very well. However, if you don't have copic markers because I know those are expensive, you can use colour pencils. And if you don't have color pencils, you can use your regular HB two pencil or B and just do some shading, do some shading. But in this tool, you're going to use the copic markers. So if you look at your top left of the screen, you can see the exact number of copic I'll be using. For this drawing, the main light source will come from the right side, which means, of course, that the left side will appear darker. So we're going to start with the skin tones. As you can see, I'm covering all those areas. I'm coloring with first brush strokes in the direction of the shape, okay? You want to color in the direction of the shape. The more layers I put, the more saturation I get. Next, we'll use a darker tone that will be our mid tone, and we'll add some shade. Now, we are going to use an even darker tone that will be our darkest tone, and we'll color the darkest areas. The next step is blending. So what we want to do is use the brightest tone to blend the mid tone, and we'll use the mid tone to blend the darkest tone. After I did the blending, I'm going to use the darkest stone again and I'll add some more layers just to create more contrast, and I'll do the same with the meton. Awesome. So this is the result we want to get. So I'm going to do the same process for the rest of the torso. So again, I'm starting with the bright stone. As you can see, I'm leaving some blank areas just to get that nice highlight, of course, coloring in the direction of the shape. Next, we'll use the meton coloring all those shaded areas. As you can see this time, I'm doing some blending before applying the darkest stone, so just play with it. Then I'm adding more layers with the meton just to get more saturation, more contrast. And now I'm gonna use the darkest tone. And we'll do some more blending. And I forgot to add the darkest to the left arm, so I'm gonna do it right now. Awesome. So now, we'll do the same process for the face. As you can see, I'm leaving some blank areas on those bump above the eyes. Next, I'm using the meton just like before filling all the shaded areas. Then, using the darkest stone with a minimum use just for those deepest parts. O. And then I'm going to blend it slightly, not too much. Awesome. And we are done with the skin tones. So now, we'll zoom out and we'll continue by drawing the gi. So first, we'll start with the orange tones. Again, I'm going to use three tones for that. We'll start with the brightest one. As you can see, I'm using fit brush strokes in the direction of the Gib. Then I'm going to use the meton to create those shades. The next step will be blending. So we're going to blend the colors. We'll blend the meton with the brightest stone. And now we'll use the dark stone for the far left side. And we'll do some more blending. Awesome. So now that we are done with that, we're going to colour the belt with the same process. So starting with a brighter blue, then using a darker blue for the left side. And then I'm going to do some blending. Awesome. So now we are going to colour the shirt underneath. So I'm going to use some different blues. Now, you don't have to do that. You can use the same blues you used for the belt. But sometimes in Dragonbll Z and Dragonbll Super, they color it with some different blues. So again, I'm going to start with the brightest one. Coloring in the direction of the shape. I think I didn't say it. Then I'm going to use the miton for the shaded areas right in those creases. Then I'm going to do some blending with the brightest tone, and then I'll use the darkest tone to create more contrast. Awesome. So we'll do the same process for the rest of the shirt. Again, if you'll check your top left of the screen, you can see the exact number of copy I'm going to use. And we are done with the torso. So now we can focus on the hair and the eyes. So first, we'll start with the eyes. We'll use some blue green tones. And as you can see, I'm leaving some blank areas on the edge just to create an eye highlight for the eyes because of the light. I'm using the same tone to add more shade on the far left. And then I'm using the colorless blender to blend the blank area just like that. Next, we'll color the eyebrows with the mid tone, fill the entire area. And now we'll move on to the hair. So I'm going to demonstrate how to color one spike of hair. We're going to use three tones just like we used until now. I'm going to start with the whitest one. And again, I'm leaving some blank area coloring in the direction of the shape. What do you know? Then I'm using the mid tone. And again, because the light will come from the right side, the left side will appear darker because because it gets less light or doesn't get any light. Then we'll use the darkest tone. It's gonna be a brown color. And then we'll do some blending with the brightest tone, and we'll use the me tone again. Awesome. So I'm going to do the exact same process for the rest of the spikes. We'll start with Y zero, zero, covering all the areas, but leaving some blank areas for those highlights. Then we'll use the mi tone to add shade and we'll do that with the direction of the spikes, of course, to make the shape look pretty. After that, we'll do some blending with the brightest tone, and then we'll use the darkest tone with a minimum use. I And now, please lower the volume a bit. We D. Everybody. So this is how you draw supersen two Goku. I hope you guys and girls enjoyed this tutorial. Please let me know how you did in the comment section. That's it for today. Thanks a lot for watching. Keep being awesome as always, and I'll see you on the next video. Peace.
