1. Class Introduction! : What's up, everybody.
I'm and I'm going to be your teacher
for today's tutorial. And in this tutorial, we are going to
learn how to draw Midoria Izuku from
my hero academia. First, we're going to
start by sketching Midrea. It's going to be a frontal pose. Next, we're going to use inking pens to ink
the entire drawing. After that, we'll use alcohol
based markers to color, and after that, we'll use color pencils to draw some
nice lightnings around them. So without further ado,
let's get down to business.
2. How to Draw & ink Deku : What's up, everybody? This is Yi and today
we're going to draw midaia Iaco from
my hero Academia. As you can see, I already
drew a perfect square. Each side is 4 centimeters, but you can draw it in
any size you want to make sure to use a
suitable paper size. So we're going to draw
Deco in frontal pose. I'm going to start by drawing
the shape of his face. It kind of looks like
an upside down egg. Then we'll take the ruler
and mark one guideline here right above the center of the top rectangle and we'll
use that to draw the eyes. I'm going to start by
drawing two curves right there and then we'll draw half of the circle on each side. Once we get that, we
can add the eyebrows. It's going to be a bit mad, and we'll add some
wriinkles as well. Next, we'll just
draw two circles to create the eye and the pupil. We'll do that really
close to the eyebrow. And to draw the nose,
we'll simply draw one short line and we'll
add three more lines above. Next, we'll add is freckles, four on each side, and
now we can add the mouth. As you can see, it is placed in the bottom rectangle at the center of the
bottom rectangle. I'm just going to
erase the center because that's their
drawing style. Awesome. Now we
can add the ears. First, I'm going to create
the shape of the ears, and then we can
add those details. Awesome. And now we
can draw the hair. So first, I'm going to create a guideline or giving him an
Afro, whichever you want. And then we'll start
drawing his locks of hair. So make sure to do it
by using two curves. One curve down, another one
up and try to mix it up, not drawing every lock
of hair the same way. And we'll do the
same process all around the guideline
we created earlier. And I'm just going to give
it some more volume here. Awesome. So once we are
done with the head, we can focus on the torso. So again, I'm going to start by drawing the
shape of the torso, and now we'll draw
his mask from behind. So as you can see, he's
not wearing the mask. The mask is on his back. I'm going to start by
drawing two triangles, and then we'll add some details. Next, we are going
to draw a gas mask, I guess, and we'll do that
simply by drawing a rumbus. We're going to cross it in the middle and then
connect it to the back. Now we can add some details. And we'll add two holes on
each side of the rumbus. Make sure to add those straps. Awesome. Now we can
refine it shirt. So I'm going to add those heads it's got on the shoulders. I'm going to mark the creases and indicate his chest muscles. Now we can add some details. I'm going to add his
puffy elbow pads. Next, we're going
to draw his belt. We'll add one bag on each side. And we'll draw the
creases under his belt. Awesome. So now we are going
to draw his massive gloves. Again, start with the shape just like that and then
add all the detail. And we'll do the same
for the left side. As you can see, his
left hand is behind the bags and the white
one is above them. That way we get the
feeling that is moving towards us. He walks. And we are done with
the sketching part. Now we can start inking. I'm going to use 0.05
for this entire drawing. I'm going to use
0.03 for the face, especially the eyes, the nose, and the mouth, and we'll
continue from there. Awesome. Now that you've got the ink right, we can proceed. But first, you can
pay attention that I added some lines right there and two buttons on each
side of his shoulder pads. Okay, now we're going to use the charcoal eraser and
we're going to get rid of all the lead I'll use the eraser stick for
those stubborn areas that the notorious
one could not erase. Awesome. Just before we
start with the coloring, I'm going to indicate the
shadow areas on his hair. And we'll ink those as well. And of course, get
rid of the lead. Awesome. So now we got
a clean looking drawing
3. How to Color Deku & Draw Lightnings: And we're going to
start coloring. So we're going to use
the Copic markers. For those who don't know, those are alcohol based markers, which means they can
blend very well. If you check your top
left of the screen, you can see the exact
number of pi I'll be using. I'm going to start with BGO
nine, that's a blue green, and with fast brush
strokes in that direction, I'm going to color
this entire shirt. Now, I color that way
because I love to get those white
areas on the shirt. If you want to get
a much solid look, you can color with circles. We'll do the same for the pants. And now I'm going to
add some shadows. I'm going to do that
by using C five, that's a dark gray, and I'm just going to
add all the shadow areas in the creases
beneath the chest, beneath the gas mask, et cetera. Once we are done with that,
I'm going to go back to BG nine and we'll
blend the colors. Awesome. Once we get
that out of the way, I'm going to use C seven, that's an even darker gray and we'll color these
areas on his shirt. Yes. Awesome. Now I'm going to do the same process for the bottom area
and for his arms. I'll start with BGio nine, color the entire area, then I'll move to C five, coloring the shadow
areas and then move to Bgio nine again to
create a nice blending. To finish it up,
I'm going to use C seven for the elbow pads. Okay, so we are not done yet. Now, I don't have a
darker tone than C seven, but I want to add more shadow. So it's simple. I'm going to use a black colored pencil
for that, just gradually, I'm going to add some
more layers until we get a nice gradient and a deeper
look for those elbow pads. Awesome. Next, we're
going to color the belt and the bags. I'm going to start, of
course, with the color red. And we'll add some shadow
with a darker tone of red. For the buckle, we'll use the same colors we
used for the shirt. BGO nine, following, C seven, and we'll also add the
black color pencil. Next, we can colour the gloves. First we'll start with B 26
and just color those straps. Then we'll use E 50, just fill this entire area. And now we can add some
shade using W three. That's a warm gray. And to add more depth, you're going to use W five, that's a darker gray. Next, I'm going to
colour the shoulder pads using the same colors
I did for the glove. And will colour his mask using the same colors
we used before. And Awesome. Now we can colour the gas mask and for that we'll
use some gratons. I'm going to start with
the brightest one of them, which will be C one. Then I'll use C five. Then I'm going to use
the colourless tender to create a nice texture, and I'm going to soak
the ink just like that. Next, I'm going to use C three. C five. I'm going to blend the colors
using C three and C one. And then I'll use the colorless
blender to soak it again. I forgot to record that part, but just do it like
I did it before. Awesome. So now we can
focus on the face. I'll start with e zero, zero, and I want to get a
solid look on the face. So I'm going to
color with silks. Next, I'm going to use E
11 for the shaded areas. We do that on the ears, the shade from the
hairs, and the neck. I'm going to use E 17, that's a darker tone, and we'll add some more
shade right there. And of course, don't forget
the nose and cheeks. Awesome. Now I'm going to use C one to add some
shadows for the eyes. And we can call the
iris using some greens. So I'm going to
start with Go two, then move to a darker tone. And the darker tone will be
right up there on the edge. Awesome. Now I'm
going to use G 28 again and I'm just
going to fill the hair I'm going to add one more layer. And now, all we have to do
is use the color black. But first, I'm going
to take the pen, and I'm going to color
all those tiny areas on the tip of these spikes. And the reason I do that is because I want to be
as precise as I can. I don't want to color outside line using the brush needed. Once we are done with
that, you can use the black topic and
just fill up this area. And we are not done yet. So now what I want to do is
add some lightning effect. So I'm going to start by using
a two kiss colored pencil. And let me show you really
slow how I draw the lightning. So basically what
you want to do is draw first lines,
add some bumps. Then we're going to
add some volume to it and make sure to add
that volume randomly. Meaning some are bigger, some are smaller, thinner,
shorter, et cetera. As you can see, it gets
bigger towards the edge. Awesome. I'm going to add
two more on the right side and three more on the left side just to make
it nice and proportionate, and then we get to the coloring. Okay, so for the coloring, I'm going to use one marker and I'll use the same color
pencil we used for that. I'm going to start
with the marker and just fill up the area. Then I'll use the
colour pencil and just add some more layers, create some more saturation. And finally, I'm going to use the white colour
pencil to blend it. And as you can see, I'm doing some adjustments along the way, so I might want to add
some more saturation to the contour or add more
saturation inside the lightning. I'll do that simply by adding
more layers and blending. So we'll do the same process for the remaining lightning and
I'll come back once I'm done. Awesome. So to finish
up this joint, I'm going to use my white pen, and I'll add some
highlights to his eyes. A quick tip. You might want
to lower your volume a bit. We are done. Everybody. This is how you draw Midoria Izuku AKA Decu
from my hero Academia. I hope you guys enjoyed
this step by step tutorial. Let me know what
you think about it in the comment section. Thanks for watching.
Keep being awesome, and I'll see you on
the next video. Peace.
