1. An Introduction to the Course: Hi, my name is
Romney and thank you very much for
joining this course about how to create low and no content books for Amazon KIP. My journey started a
couple of years ago, and I've published
well over 350 books. And I'm also a
bestselling author across the US, UK, and Canada. Now what I want to do is teach
you all the steps you need to know about publishing
with Amazon API, including the business
model of kVp, how it works, going through the process of
keyword and niche research, how to create your
title and subtitle, looking at different ways to create your cover
and your manuscript, uploading your book to kj P, then the important part of
marketing and promotion. These are the kinds of
things that I'm gonna be teaching you as
part of this course. And one of the major
assignments will be to make sure that you can successfully applied
your book through the kVp upload process so that your book can be live and can be ready for
the world to see. Now the course designed for anyone really from a
beginner through to someone that might have also previously published
books before, but just wants a mixture
tips and strategies to sell more books and to make sure they get into the
hands of the customer. Just wanted to say thank you so much for joining this course. I do hope that I can provide a high level of value for
you and you can learn as much as you need
to to successfully publish and then scale your
self-publishing as well, so that you can actually get your books out into the world. So thanks again and look forward to teaching
you everything I know.
2. Lesson 1 - The Business Model of KDP Publishing: Let's go over now what KD
pay is an introduction to how you can upload your books in how the actual process of cardiac pay
self-publishing works. So let's do that now. An introduction. What is cardiac pain? Well, ADP is actually, it's a platform on Amazon,
Kindle Direct Publishing. And kVp will take
care of everything. Now, most story for caddy pay
publishing started because I had originally created the book through
major publisher. But I'll also have a
control in regards to what that creation process look
like at the royalties. And so the royalties in fact, where actually a
fraction would actually get when I or equals to
publish on cardiac pain. When I person creates a
book on cardiac pain, it's called print on an end. Sorry if someone
orders your book, that book is printed pretty
much that dy over dx, dy, this notebook
sitting in warehouses. Your books are sitting in
a 100 books somewhere, somewhere in the world. They are printed on the spot. And therefore amazon will
print code, print on demand. Now do all the
distribution for you. They take care of all the
payments from customers. They take care of
all logistics and all the customer service
regarding returns or compliance. So something might go wrong in the mile where bookies
tone and it gets returned. So you're not getting
phone calls or e-mails from the customer with issues tied a PE or amazon will take care
of all that for you. Once you sell your book, then what I call the creator, or the author, will
receive a royalty payment. And it's based on a split
share of the profit. Usually it's 60%
to the credit and 40 per cent to Amazon once all those costs of
taking consideration. For example, if you had a
$7.99 LoadContent book, then your royalty to the author would be
approximately $2. If you're selling
lots and lots of books that to those ads up in particular during
busy times as well. What are no content books? Well, as a couple of different areas that we need to look into. No content examples would
include Night books, journals, blank scrapbooks, and the light quantity examples
would be coloring books, workbooks, and log books
that low content think of just a little bit of writing
and information that might even be literate tracing books and
things like that. Whereas the night content, typically lawn journals
and no content at all. So that's the difference
between both of them. What's the process and
what's a starting point? Well, when you create a or an author or publisher
for cardiac pay, you need to do your research to find out what books again, to be profitable on Friday paid because not every
book that you publish, you can expect to sell if you create a book in a
really competitive niche. And we'll go into
depth in regards to niche or niche selection depending on what part
of the world are in. And we also will look at
the book creation process. How we create a covers
your titles and the interiors and allow them
or upload them to keda pain. Then once they load, then you can do some marketing. And I've got a bonus section of this course about marketing. And then you go back to
niche selection again, to choose the kind of book that you want
to publish intimate, decided to go for
a specific nation, just do five or ten books
in that nation and move on. Or you become a specialist
in a particular niche. So the choice is yours. What are the pros and
the cons to kinda pay? Well, of course is
gonna be pros and cons. Let's start with the price. So it is free to upload
your book to page. Now that has its advantages
and disadvantages of means. That because it's free, there's gonna be a
lot of competition. And we'll talk about
that in the cones. You can create free books with software that I'll be showing you
during the tutorial. You have a global
distribution opportunity. So it's not just buys the
new country residents, you can scale it globally. Amazon do all the heavy
lifting in regards to logistics and customer
service and payments, which is fantastic and you
just received a royalty. There's no limit to growth. So there's no limit
to the number of books or resources
you can correct. We had a PE and it's an excellent passive
income stream as well. What about the columns or they can be a delight
result from the effort. You can create a book and
then you load the KD a PE. And by the time you
start to get styles, maybe a few weeks, maybe a couple of days. But when you receive
your royalty, Amazon don't pay for
period of 60 days. If you had a number of
books are sold in January, your income or your royalties wouldn't be pied until
the end of March. There's increasing
competition because of the free uploading process. And for a book creation, styles can fluctuate lot. So it is not generally you
want consistency in two, you have quite a few books
to the selling regularly. There is no guarantee
of success. Now I can show you and try and teach you
as much as I can. But there's no guarantees because it depends on the quality of books
you're creating. A customer is going
to lie to them or they initiated a competitive. Do you have content inside That's going to be
attractive to customers. So there's no
guarantees success, but there's also an opportunity
for you to take action, to do something like this. But if you don't take action, then of course you won't
be successful at it. So they are couple of
things for consideration. Now, more generally,
we tidy pay. It started at the end of 2019. But really I got
into things in a random that January 2020. And as you can see from here, I didn't have much success
in the first three months. They not started the
cell a few books, and then it really started to increase my bad
October to December, which is what I call
a quarter full. Then it drops off a favorite as customers stockpiling
after Christmas. Then it can build
up a gain again. And then certain times of
the year we might have success depending on the
kinds of books you have. If they're Halloween books, they might be mothers
or fathers die books. They could be certain and celebrations that you
can create bookstore. So it just depends on eyes. But also you might have what
they call evergreen books, which are booked
through the cell consistently throughout
the whole year. But it's important that don't expect that you're going to be selling hundreds of books
when they're very beginning. You need to learn the process. Learn from mistakes,
cape evolving, keep experimenting and make sure the IQ learning content
that will help you to grow. And hopefully much tutorial will step you
through a number of processes that will help you to get started with your
cardiac pay journey.
3. Lesson 2 - What to Expect on Your KDP Journey : Welcome to this lesson. I think it's important to be
able to outline what she can potentially expect from
Amazon caddy pay publishing. Because there's also
a lot of noise at the image here that has
successful people become very, very quickly on an
Amazon card API. But also wants you to know what potentially
can happen in what happened with my own journey
up until where I am now, when I first started publishing, really didn't get any styles
for the first three months. Are thorough, knew
the right techniques, but I was probably
implementing what our thought was Ross rather than what I
should have been doing. As you can say, as I
went through my journey, I only sold a few
books in April 2020. But he can say that at
least start to grow and as of December 2020. So closing in on
3 thousand books, just in the one-month a line. Now it does drop off
quickly when you do move onto January as
part of the new year because people have
stopped buying books for Christmas and they are
busiest time of the year. But you can see that the
gross status increase again as we head
towards the timber. And so it's important
that you get an understanding of what that
journey model look like. But let's have a look
at the next part of what our experience as well, seven new gas to revenue. You can see here that between
January 1st to March 30th, in my first year, publishing didn't
make any revenue after that first month. Then I had a few books because I actually
started off with what I call high constant books. Books at sort of ran it at 20 to 30 thousand words in length and published
a hard content book. And so some of these
actually were a book sales, not actually physical
book styles. You can say, I have a couple of spots and when flat again. And collectively, during that first
three months of night, a $100 wasn't a lot, particularly with the
volume of work that I was doing as Pottermore
publishing as well. But you can see what
can happen if you continue to apply
yourself this week we're publishing and the
growth that you can get with your publishing if you continue to apply
the rod strategies. It was probably a random bat October that I did start
to get a few styles. And it was because I started dated rock promotion and
marketing former books. And you can say the growth
as it really started to scale up towards
that December period where one of the dyes
my 425 US dollars and the one guy said collectively between October
and December 2311, over 11 thousand US dollars. During that period of time. It's a long way to come from making mixed and
nothing or a $100 in the first three months to
making $11 thousand in the last three months of the that's the journey
that had gone on. Your journey might be different. But what it actually demonstrates if you do
follow the process, following the steps
outlined in this course. These are raising the
cheek can start to build your own self publishing
business to develop some good passive
income for four, however you want to use it. And for a great Y of being a creative freedom within what you're
doing as well, and could also be solid hobby. Either way, it's a
great opportunity to have a positive impact. Both are creating great books. I'll hope you enjoyed
this short lesson. Just a bit more journey,
Watch can expect, remember the first raid, six months can be
quite challenging. You just got to keep pushing and keep investing your time and effort and resources
to try and build things so that you can scale. Because once you do the styles to start to come through
and you can really make sure that you take advantage of all of your knowledge
and apply it to your self-publishing through cardiac and other
platforms as well.
4. Lesson 3 - Protecting Your KDP Account: Welcome to this short lesson, but it's an important, very, very important lesson. And it's about protecting
your kVp account. Wanted to ensure I covered these because your IDP camp
is just so important. And you'd never want to
compromise your account. Because once you
lose, it is extremely hard the people to either
try and get it back. What I'll want to do is just
cover a few key things. They're not, it's not
an extensive list of things that you need to
avoid because you need to read the Amazon
terms of service about what you can and you
can't do when publishing. But I just wanted to
highlight a few of the things that
people might have done that have led to them
losing their account, all the banks suspended
or terminated. So firstly, do your research and make sure you avoid infringing
on any copper Europe. I'll show you when we're
going through the module for title and subtitle creation, I'll talk about a website
you can go to to check for any infringement or making sure you're
not copying any work. Like even even using the words. I think it might be
adult point, journal, I think dope point mod be
a copyright or trademark. Trademark nine, data sort of
things you need to check. Avoid that side. People that might use
words like Disney or just very well not Lego. Very well known names like Star Wars and
things like that. Just don't do that, just be very regional and ensure checks to ensure
you're not infringing. Next one, do not copy covers of other authors or do
not live in trawling close to replicating
them because let us assure way to get your account united,
again, be original. And also if you do use extent, someone external to
create your covers luck. Someone on a father, or someone that has a
freelance artist or designer, just double-check that they not copying someone
else's cover as well. I've seen it before
firsthand where song was engaged and it was
almost a replica of another cover that
was a bestseller. And that's assigned to
be very mindful of. Number three, avoid reusing assigning terriers for
low content books. Now for no content books like blank lawn journals
and things with it, that's okay because it just lined journals and you
need to replicate those. But when it comes to
low content books, and we'll talk about it
more during the modules. But low content books just
say you created a letter tracing or alphabet literate
tracing book for children, then you wouldn't
want to be raising the same interior over and over with just a different
cover because it can create a negative
customer experience. And customer starts complaining. Complaining, saying, well, I
ordered one book of yours. It tries in book, they locked it and I
ordered another one, but the interior was
exactly the same. They're not going
to be too happy. So just be very mindful of that. Dynam time 5k or boss reviews. You should never be paying for reviews or getting unbuttoned, biased reviews from
family or friends. You need to get unbiased
reviews and Nivre ever engage someone that says I'll
get you 25 reviews for $25. That is an absolute nine. I just make sure you
do it the right way. Remember your book is a long-term proposition
and a long-term assets. So look after. So that leaves me with these trait
your account with respect. It is a long-term
passive income stream for you and you need
to think about it. It could be 20 years from now
that you'll still receiving royalties from books
you created in 2021, for example, 2022 and in 2032 still getting
royalties from those books. But if you lose your
account, that will stop. And Amazon have
every right, just, just go Now you're against
that terms and conditions and ultimately dyad doing the diet, providing the opportunity for us to have global distribution. So you don't want to
abuse that opportunity. They just a few things. Make sure you read the
terms of service or Amazon so you clearly aware of what
you can and you can't do.
5. Lesson 4 - Quality Vs Quality: Welcome to another lesson in regards to the
introduction to kVp. Now, all I wanted to focus on the quality versus
quantity argument and give you some
insights into what I feel is important in regards
to cardiac pay publishing. So firstly, I really think it's important that
you avoid the quota. So the quantity mindset, There's a lot of publishes out there that
will promote that. I've got 2 thousand books
that they've created. But when you dig a
little bit deeper, there's only a very small
percentage of those books that are actually doing
or having many styles. And typically it's because the quality of those
books greater then the ones that united rest of the 1850. You need to really ensure
that you slow down because the quality of your
book allows you to focus more on the launch and
the marketing of your book. If you are launching
30 books at a time, then there's no, Why
did he can focus on getting good, strong, positive reviews as
part of your launch or looking at the marketing
and running any sort of Amazon ads or Facebook ads or whatever social media ads or marketing you
should do few books. You just need to
focus on the quality. And remember, poor quality can compromise your long-term brand. And so when domain the brand, as you build your
publishing business, you might want to create a
brand behind your publishing so that you can actually
create some great books. You can include other
books you have created in the backend of your book and they can form part
of your manuscript. If customers like
one of your books, they'll go back and I
purchased another one. You might be sitting
up a website and you might be
sitting up things that actually help you to
scale your business as well. So that's another reason why quality will always
win over the quantity. The next thing, a poor quality will get you negative reviews. And Amazon will be less likely to promote your book
through that algorithm. A quality book will attract the rod reviews
and comments that naturally will help
it float to the top because the Amazon
algorithm one, lux styles. And then when you get styles, you generate good reviews. The hard thing is
you need to get some good reviews before
we get the styles as well. So there's different strategies
around getting marketing, sorry, getting reviews and
things that you can do. But as I said in another lesson, just never compromise
your account by getting reviews their own life. But the quality of
your books will be there for the long-term
NH book he created, you need to think that
it's a 2030 e-book. And there's no reason
that you can't create books that have a
long-term lifespan. Remember, it's a digital asset and it's not going
to expire unless the corner book he create
myopia, uh, 2022 journal. Therefore, at the end of 2022, obviously no one's going
to buy it off to that. If you can look at different
niches that you can build, build out the quality
of your different book, then really work hard at that. The best kinds of books
that you can create, what I call evergreen books. An evergreen books are those itself consistently
throughout the year. You can create books
for Christmas, for Mother's Day, Father's Day, for Easter, for balance, arms died for Halloween, but they tend to spike at
certain times of the year, but then they die off. And more beta cell is evaluated, have consistent styles
throughout the year. Because again, Amazon
loves those books itself and will keep continuing to push them those
books up to page one or page to where the majority of
customers are looking. Please focus on the quality. My advice would be outside is a lot of people when you first started
out in publishing, I recommend definitely
going for I create, follow the six books. Learn the process of
uploading took ADP, get used to how that process works and the credit
in the covers and creating the manuscripts. And then you can
actually start to really focusing on quality and knowing
how that actually works. That's just my thoughts on
quality versus quantity. And just ensure that any
bookie create neither. It's, someone's buying
it on the other end. And they are looking forward to an amazing experience
themselves side. That's what I would like to say. We'll add as pod this lesson
for quality versus quantity.
6. Lesson 5 - Establishing Your Publishing Goals: In this lesson, I wanted to talk briefly with you about goal setting and the importance of establishing goals when
you're publishing. When you start out with
your publishing journey, you need to make sure
that you're clear, have clear objectives about
what are these that you want to deliver to customers? What kinds of books that you
potentially lot to create? How many books you'd
like to create. An even revenue that
you think you'd like to generate for
the first three months. And then even over 12 months. What I've decided
to do was create a publishing tracker that
allows you to establish your, your top five goals you would like to achieve in the
first three months. I tend to find that people, when they first
start their journey, they're a bit unclear about
what they want to achieve. Therefore, they
don't tend to take the actions required to
achieve those goals. If you have a document
that you can record your information
and I'm not just talking about writing
it on a Word document. I mean, physically writing
it down because there's evidence to demonstrate that if you write your goals down, you have an ID
percent more chance of achieving those goals. What I've created is this
document just wrote here. It's called the
publishing tracker. And I'll show you
in a moment what that publishing
tracker looks like. And therefore, we can
implement that into your strategy of becoming a publisher on keda
pay and beyond. Now, when you start
writing your goals down in this need
to be very specific about what are
these fuel to show you a goals to even five
or six-year-old child. Don't understand what they are. When you create your goals, make sure that they
look in the future. So I have created six books
this year or I will, or I, sorry, I have generated $600 over the 12 months
with publishing. So be very specific. Use data or numbers
if that helps you. So you actually know
when you've achieved and hit your targets
or hit your goals. They are the kinds
of things are locked you to implement
when you're first starting out because they
are good strategies to have when you do grow
your publishing business. Let me show you what this
document looks like. What I want you to do is
make sure we take action and print it off,
record information. And then you can
use that throughout the next 12 months to really
record how you're tracking. So let me show you
that document now. This is the publishing
track of and it allows you to record your publishing
goals and your achievements. So let's just scroll
through the document now. Guys. Sorry, the publishing trek out. As I mentioned, it's a powerful
resource because there's evidence that has proven that
if you brought your goals, then you have an IT percent better chance of
achieving your goals. As I mentioned here,
that's called Tafel. I want you to be able
to use these tracker to incorporate your goals for
the next three months, your next 12 months, and also some additional
notes as well. Because my tracking
these kinds of things, it's really good reflective tool gives you confidence
and it's also a great journal to remember what you've been through
over the past 12 months. Firstly, what I'd
like you to do is establish a three-month
publishing goals. So what five k tasks can you complete that will
make the biggest impact? You've got numbers one
through five here, but I've also got
a completion date. I wanted to make sure that she can put the completion
date and be really specific either
next three months when that goals can be achieved. And that will help
you to really focus on and get clarity of the
goal you need to achieve. Next one is to establish your
12 months publishing goals. So 12 months from now, what we do like
to have achieved, maybe consider the number of books that you want to publish, notice the income or the profit, maybe making the areas of personal growth that
you'd like to work on. But just be very specific
and use numbers. You actually know when
you hit your goals. Next one is your major
accomplishments. Record the great things
that have happened. What things have
allowed you to make those palsy steps forward
in your publishing as well. Mine was creating a
publishing accelerator. That was a huge thing, a huge project that
I had to undertake. And that was a major
accomplishment that I achieved back in 2021. And I've got some great things
that I want to achieve, some really special
things to me that I wanted to check in 2022. Next things are the improvements are the lessons
you've been learning. What areas heavy
potentially night, what mistakes if unite, although they might
be considered values. In fact, we learned the most
MAF files and grow stronger. Just like if there's
a broken bone in your body, a broken bond, will He about heel back stronger than a
privacy was before? You need to make sure you record anything that
didn't quite work out. What you're going to do
next time to improve it. Don't make the same error to us. Capable Alving, keep working
hard, keep learning, and keep growing and scaling
yourself publishing as well. The next thing I've included, just some very basic trick is that you can
write down the month and then you can record the income that you generate
either the next 12 months. I've left this blank
just so you can record the dollar amounts that you want to because
you not think, hope that you get Tindall is all $30 in your first couple
of months publishing, you might have some
big lofty goals you want to watch cable and will be smaller goals and that's fine. The next one is your
expense trek out. So you can plot your publishing expenses
against very simplified. You might need
another document to actually list all
your experiences, but these might just be
a good wife trekking if you are increasing
your expenses, were chasing them as well. Then finally, what
additional information can you include as part
of your track app? That could be
almost like a Dory. What are the things
that you'd like to include in this
document that will help you to grow further on
beyond not just this year, but next year as well. Really hope you get to
utilize this document and be able to track your 12
months of publishing. And it might not
just be on KDE pay. There might be other platforms that you publish on as well. And you might lot to track
your progress on that. I'd love to be
already allow you to download this document
for free and make sure you print it off and record your information
and night show you later pathology and reflect on your goals daily few can
just flick through it, have a quick look either, and that will keep you focused on the tasks at hand as well.
7. Lesson 6 - How to Create Your KDP Account: This lesson is just
gonna be a short one, and it's about tidy
pay account creation. Creating your account
on Friday pay is free. What you need to do
is just go up too. You can see the link up here. If you wanted to Google
Amazon sign in or sign up, then it would bring you to the page to be able to do
this process just here. You'll be taken
through the process. It's a nice, easy
step-by-step process. Just make sure you have
a lot of the details including bank account
details and tax information. So you can actually
get pied by KID pay. Now once you correct
your account, you'll be given a
dashboard and I'll show you what a typical
dashboard looks like. And this is my dashboard. So once you've
created your account, you will have different tabs. At the top here. You've got bookshelf, and
if you click on that, it'll show you all the books in your catalog and
you've got reports. So you click on that and that
will take you through to the different financials
and the books that you've been selling, you go. So I got community
tab and marketing, so that'll help you with
different tutorials as well. But if we're creating
a book and I'll show you as part of
the upload process, but we would simply
click pipe it back. If you do have an
option for hardcover, if it's approximately I think
it's 76 pages, I think so. It's roughly that anyway. And you can actually
create hardcovers for low and no content books. But we don't do K2 books because Way has selling
a physical product. And our low and no content books going to be
other paperback or hardback. That was just a
short introduction to how to create your account. Remember, just go to
type in Amazon sine OK, Amazon KD piece on up. And it'll take you
to the webpage to be able to sign up and create your free account.
8. 25 Tips for KDP Self Publishers 2023 - Update: Hello and welcome
to this lesson. At the time of
filming right now, in January 2023,
we've just cheat. 3,000 students are
enrolled in this course, which is a fantastic
achievement. So thank you to all of you
that have been enrolling in the Amazon API beginning course follow and
no content books. What I wanted to
do in this lesson is provide you with an update, a resource that you can
actually use to help you to navigate your way
through Amazon cat API. Now the resource includes
25 tips for those that are new to kVp or even those experienced
with Amazon canopy. And it collects all of those
tips from the publishing of over 350 books that
I've completed over the last few years when
publishing with Amazon. So let me show you the resource now and you'll find the resource as a download at the end of the course as part
of the materials. So make sure you check out that resource and make the use of all the links and all the information that will
help you on your journey. So let me show you the
resource and just make sure you go ahead and download
that when you can. This is the resource that I've created to help you
on your journey. There's 25 tips and lots of different resources that will
help you to get started. So let me show you
through a few of the pages so you get an idea
of what the book covers. So we've got our contents page. We've also got the
different tips there. So there are 25 tips, including a bonus tip for you. I've also got resources, so plenty of different resources with the link that will help you to navigate
your way through to that particular
page or software. Then there's also
the courses that I have on Skillshare or
that self-publishing. And you can actually
click directly on the link which will take
you to that course. You might be completing the Amazon Kelly Pilon No
content course right now. But you might like to learn
how to create and publish a standard children's book or to how to successfully launch
your book on Amazon. So there are a number
of different courses that will help you
on your journey. So if we keep going through, there are different
platforms you can do print on-demand with as well further
resources as templates. There's also a glossary of terms that you might
come across when you're doing your self-publishing
on Amazon or even other platforms
like Ingram, Spark. So there's the resource, It's a very
comprehensive resource. Please download it, go to the end of the course
under the project section. And you will see all of these pages that are
available for you, downloaded, reference when you need to and use any
of those links. So hopefully that helps you and thank you very much
again for choosing this course on how to
self-publish with Amazon API.
9. Lesson 7 - Free Software to Use for KDP: Welcome back to the next module. So in this one
we're talking about the software that I
recommend that you use, but also these free software you can use to create
your paper books. But also the software
that we need to use for research and for looking to find areas or books that we can actually
create these software, again, the Chrome
extensions as well. Let's have a look at some of the software that
I'm talking about. Firstly, we've got a
software called Book bulb. Book bulk can be free, and it is also a paid
monthly subscription option, but we'll just use the free option as
part of this course. Then is helium tin, again is a free option and you can use Pi monthly
subscription option. There's also canva.com. Again, it's free, but there is a Pi monthly subscription
for a pro version. And then of course is
Amazon KD pay tools that they offer for free that we can use as well when we're
creating our books. There's also the
Chrome extensions that I want to talk about. But before we do that, let's just have a
very quick look at each of these
software platforms. And I can show you what
the main page looks like. This is the book bulb platform. And again, you can just use free resources elements that will actually be going
through during the, during the course as well. But this is the book Baldwin. If you wanted to go to helium, helium Taney's another platform where you can use
elements of it for frame, for niche research and
keywords and things with them. So that's another platform, the Jiekun now look at using. Then finally there's canva.com. And Canva is an amazing platform that you can use to create
your KID pay books. Again, you can use it for free. Plenty of things you can
do on here for free. And then there is
more of a pro version you can use as well. I'll definitely,
definitely recommend that you use this and this is what platform we'll be using to create our free books for keda, pay for low and no content. And two of the Chrome extensions that are highly
recommend you get. One's code aims at
extension, expand. And the other one is called
DSS Amazon quick view. Let's have a look at how
each of these can help us. We both are keywords and also determining if book's going to be ranking well or if
they profit or not. So let me jump on an Amazon
now and show you how these two extensions
work on Amazon now, now if always to talk, I always say, LET
a tracing this. Then what will end up happening is Amazon will provide
these ammonia even do. Let's just do something else. This tracing for Amazon will provide these
ones just here. Now if we add to have
the the expanded on, it starts to provide
other options for us. Now, if we were to
do say, gratitude, GRAT, then the expanded will provide all these extra
options for us to choose from. These are the ones in
order of usually priority with what Amazon customers
are searching for. So you use AES for
keywords to create books. But these ones we
can also find out different niches we can
potentially go into. And also it helps us with our creation of a
title and a subtitle. Now let's go into
gratitude journal. And if we were to
look at these, now, the other crime extension
which we were talking about, which is the DSM
zone quick view. That will actually start showing us this
information just here. If we hover over it,
you can actually do it. You can Pi Frank standard one. However, we just use it to
find out what this is called, the BSR or the bestsellers rank. These book is ranked
at 577 on amazon.com. That means that it's from, ranked from number
one to follow 177. So it's popularly bookies. This one's ranked at 22 thousand compared to number
one on Amazon.com. So each marketplace has
what I call the BSR. The ISBN is like a book
identification number. For you. Scroll down the other
way you can find out about the rankings
and things like that. If you were to click
on this book here, then we go into it. And before you scroll down, this will give us all
the details of the book. Before we scroll down further, then it'll actually give us more information such
as the language, the published, and also
the size dimensions. And then it's got the rank and perhaps a category
that, that is in. And if you scroll down
further, of course, you'll get information
about the book. You've got reviews
which we can use. And you can also say what
customers think of the book. And you can use this as
part of your research to a particularly these fine
lines and things like this, can actually have a look and see what some of the books and
things looked locked inside. That's another great way of
being able to use some of these Chrome extensions to see what books a lot and
what their rankings, as you will see how it
starts to come up here. So remember to get those
to crime extensions so that they match easier for you to actually
do the research. Free to use. So just make sure
you grab the ions. It suggests an
expanded from Chrome. I know so D is
Amazon quick view, which is also another
extension of free one as well. Now, if you wanted to search for other crime
extensions that might help, then there are quite a few. Helium tin has a
Chrome extension as well that might be
suitable for you too. But they just a few of the software platforms
that are used. In the bonus section, I'll be giving you a whole list, the chicken download, which has helped me to scale
myself publishing business.
10. Lesson 8 - Mastering Niche Research: Now this video is gonna be
a really important one, and he's gonna go a little
bit longer than the others. And it's all about the niche research and
what you need to do to try and find books that are
gonna be able to sell well. And you've got high customer
demand, but low competition. Let's have a look at a few of the important considerations
when we're doing this. What are our considerations? Well, firstly, as
I just mentioned, we need a high need. So customers are searching for and we've got
low competition, whereas low as we can get, there is some
niches that a very, very saturated lock the
nature and is willing to read the last module in
regards to gratitude journals, those sorts of areas, or even even literate tracing
all those sorts of books. Educational space can
be quite competitive. But there are so
many untapped niches that you can get into. But it's about trying to find them and working
through the process. What are our rules in
regards to niche selection? Well, firstly, we are
no hard fast rules. However, it's a really good gardens point
because there's not one technique or method
that is a 100% accurate, but we use the data
as well as we can. I'll step you through and
then we're going to go through a niche
research process. And I'll show you the steps you need to take to try
and find these niches. Firstly, we use, need
to use the average BSR. What we're talking about
that bestsellers rank and we need four or five
books with a BSR under a 1501000 on page
one of the search results. So if we were to do a search for gratitude
journal, for example, we need four to five books under 150 thousand on
page one that show. And then low competition, we've got our search results. When you search of something, you'll see the search results and I'll show you in a moment. And we need to aim for under 2 thousand search
results to give us an understanding of how competitive that
particular keyword or that even that niches. Remember the BSR is the bestsellers rank
across Amazon and, and how close you are to that number one book
across all of the Amazon. Let's have a look, a little bit more of
a look into also, when we're doing a
niche selection, why it's good to track
your selection process. I will provide a free
niche selection truck, and that will be part of
this lesson or this module. And I will show you how
that works as well. But let's go into Amazon and let's go
through the process. And I'm going to step you
through the first one, the high and the
low competition. So let's do that right now. What I always start with these
going to books just here. And I go to the best cell
is just to begin with, just to get me
into the category. Now on the left-hand side, you've got all the
different categories that Amazon offer. And there are a lot of what
they call sub niche areas. So if we went into crafts, hobbies and Heim, then you'll say a lot of different
subcategories here. And even if we went
into that one, it would bring up more
subcategories as well. As we can see, my Chrome extensions
are showing me what these books are
ranked in 53 BSR 155156. If you scroll down, what we're aiming as part of
their niche research is to find any patterns of books
that might be relevant. And so some books put into areas where
they're not relevant. And I'll talk about
categories, flexion. And we might go into, let's go into one of these ones. We can find some
more obscure one. For example, it's got
a potter in ceramics. And we can start to see the different rankings
that we'd have. Let's have, let's do a search. Let's go back to our books. Let's have a look through
and find out if I can find a niche that has information
that we're looking for. If you were to go into health, fitness and dieting for example. And we scroll down here. And if we were to look for, let's look, let's look
for something like the crystals for beginners. It's got a ranking of a 130. So doing very, very well. So if we were to go back up
here and we'll just rot. Crystal, Crystal log
book for example. Then if we were to click on
here, this would give us a, a 110 results under
the old category. Now if we went to books, Let's find out what that would rank. So
let's have a look. And it's a thousand results. So what we would
do, for example, this was an area, it, It's got a thousand results, so it meets our criteria. But now we're looking for four to five books as risk
scroll down to page one, that has a base, our ranking
under a better 150 thousand. So we've got none,
none, none there. We would almost rule
out pretty quickly. If we were to go to
either C tracing. And we have looked for here, we got rod, Let's have
a look down here we go. For kindergarten kids. It's got 20 thousand results. That would rule that
out very, very quickly. If we were to look
down, we'd go, okay, we've got 123456 sides that would tick that box
immediately because it's got five or four or five
different books with a BSR under a 150 thousand. So these books sell
extremely well. However, the search results y2 high for what
we're looking for. 20 thousand we're looking, we want to get under
2 thousand results. But have the BSR
have collectively, they have four or five
books under 150 thousand. Let's have another look
and see what we can find. If we, if we would do how to, we just do night
money in stocks. There are 700 and ICT results. That would take our first box. We can audit, check
on the ol or books. Now remember, if you checking on the O in count everything
but on the books. It can also include
books on Kindle books. Or if we were to go from, go from low to high. This Marcelo is see if books
are more be Kindle book. So we're looking for paperbacks
and things like that. But it's still okay. Let's, if we were
to do books though, let's say how many
results there are now. We got her there. A thousand results. So that's still may tear
criteria doesn't I've got a 1000 results and we
have let's work out. We've got, we're looking
for four to five books. One, 23. And for not quite. Maybe even he couldn't do that. Let's start, let's say with these what they
call sponsored ads. So people were
paying for them to be there. That's another 156. So we've actually got
we've got our niche area. But this would be if you
were looking at to the high contained books because we're looking for low content books. But as an example, it ticks the boxes. We've got a thousand results, so it's under 2 thousand. We've got four to five books under a hundred
and fifty billion, one hundred and
fifty thousand BSR. So they're the things
that we're looking for. Maybe if he had stock market, logbook and G4,
we'll have a look. Niall might not be
anything under here. If we just did. Let's have a look
and say 400 results. Let's say if we have the four or five books
under a 100 thousand, we've got one that's
more logbook there. Dog training for kids. You can actually get all Ds
as well as you scroll down. Now remember you're not
gonna get it immediately. You're not going to get
these results straightaway. If we were to do,
Let's try unknown, another niche would do 500 search puzzles, for example, for adults. If we go here, we've
got 2 thousand results. So it still meets our criteria. Now we're looking for, we're looking for the
four or five books under 150 thousand
criteria. I've got one. To know, distributed above to just might be the
same book. 3456. We've made our criteria already. Seven. We've actually made our criteria is part
of these niche. We tick that box. Now the next thing you'd
want to do is you'd go to your spreadsheet and you'd write this
information down. So let me show you
how I would do that. This is the niche
research tracker that will provide as
part of this lesson. So I've given an example here of watching need to top and
what you're looking for. If we were to go to, as we would go back to our page, whoops, wrong one, sorry. We would go to rewrite
500, would copy that. And these different
options here as well. We go to our truck, I wrote that down. Now I long or short
tail keyword. Now I short tail keyword
might be gratitude, journal, or puzzle book. Longer Tau keyword
is one latae switch 500 word puzzle book
with puzzles for adults. We call it. We'll just go along. Long tail keyword. You have. Probably the book can
create a lot of styles, but maybe if you had a book
that was trekking really well on a short tail keywords you
probably make more income, but they're harder to get
into or to rank highly. The longer tail keywords
easy to rank for, but you may not get
as many styles, but it's worthwhile
writing them down. Now the average BSR, you can go back into it and you have a look and
we'll just get rid of that. The average BSR crosshair books. There is another software
that I use called Katie spy. Quickly just use that. This will actually give
us some rankings as well. What we do, we go down, we get rid of some
of these big ones. What we call an outline
is we make sure these books were actually so
that one was relevant to it. We have a look. We don't
need the Halloween one. Everything large. We don't need that one. We have a look, we've
got an average rank of 252 and have a look at the most of those. Pretty relevant. But we can have a
little bit of a look at thigh sorts, Two 152 thousand. So we'd write 252 thousand. We had 2 thousand
search results. And the number of books
there was a bad five or six. Then what we do is
just continue to write down L keywords and
all the details here. So we can actually start to determine whether it's a book
niche we want to get into. And I've got the
rules just here. Hon a low competition
looking for four to five books under a
150 thousand on page one. And ideally we are looking
for under 2 thousand results. Then what I'll do is highlight
the sections in green, yellow, or black, and orange
for the high competition. And I'll provide this for you. That's the key areas of actually writing down
your niche areas. And I'll go to the example page. If all the niche was
kids learn to write, I would write these down, I'll rot the information, and then I would
color-code them based on whether the competition
is high or low. And then all would actually have a little
title creation of what I would look
at creating the total and the subtitles will. That is something that's gonna
be really useful for you. A book, niche research
can be quite hard. There are different
tools you can use. But one of the most popular is pretty much to see
gallon to Amazon. And you can start to look at different niches
and things like that. So if we were to go
back to our areas here, Let's go to go to health. If there's a health one, maybe. Let's go to good to
go back to this one. And if we were to look down here further, that
didn't get it. Let's just go home. The clutter. Let's check it out. And then we'd have
4 thousand results. So we're going, well that's
a little bit too much. Then we can start to look at different ways. We
can look at things. So we can either go to a category or we can just
go straight to books. And if we did the
home de clutter, we brought 4 thousand results. If we were heavy, Look this I had to home
declutter and organization. Five thousand results. So a little bit
too much before we go to our books as well. And we start to have a
little bit of a look. That's got a thousand results, which is perfect for us. Now what we're looking for
is four to five books. We've got just on
the border, 123456. It's got those. If
we went to more of a lower content and we'll
just write a journal. Let's see what this brings up, 329, so that's much better. Then what we do is go
through and see if there's any other sort of journals
that we're looking for. So we'd go down. And let's say it is
a seven-week God on an organization plan of attack. Cleaning your home. This evening we can do. It's a matter of just
scrolling through and finding if there's anything
that we can actually create. If we went to organization. Organizations are
organized a planner. There's a lot of results there. We wouldn't necessarily look
at going into that niche. That could be budgeting book. You can start getting
ideas as you go through a room by
room Project Planner. Let's have a look
inside this book and see if it would
be easy to create. We would go into it. Price is very low, but we would then have
a look and think, this is something we can
create BSA easy to create, just goes through those already
contents, home details, and then it just has
those pages there. That is very easy to create. And that would be another one you could potentially marked down in your niche fonder, It would be a seven
by nine inch. Let's have a look
at the reviews. You can actually
learn a lot from the reviews and you can make improvements
on the current book. But that's an overview of
the niche research process. So remember, you've got to have a tracker and you
wrote down keywords. You might even go
through and look up different keywords like room
ballroom, project planner. If we were to copy that, for example, and have a
bit of a look, we could, we could put it in your niche
research tracker as well. You could go back here and
let's just paste that and see. It's something that
people were looking up. So let's go there. And we've got 2 thousand
results. Let's have a look. How many books we've got one. We've got a lot of books it out, ranking it to go
down HE further, there's not enough
books on page one that we can see that potentially
going for these niche. But I wanted to show
you the process. And as I said, there's not one size fits all
process is to do it, but our families to be
highly successful in finding books if you just
want to use a free process. Now for you to work.
If you were to spend some money and go to a
program like book bolt, then that provides
different ways of doing niche research and something that you
can see that as well. And so I've just logged
into my book bolder camp before I went to
the Cloud, for example. Then I would simply say if I did a planner and I wanted to find the top 200 under
a BSR of say, 149. We brought the price
down to something reasonable and we did a search. Then this will bring up all the books that are
quite popular now. And you can go through
and get different ideas. So there's a bill
payment strike up. If we clicked on that one, then this would tell us
the ranking when it was released and the price point as well on how
often that is changed. You can actually see
there's a few budget funds. Budget tracker is this
one would tell us that the rank has dropped, the price is reminded sign. So this is the pair of book bolt you can go through
and you can actually find different niches and start to look into
these as well. That's another wide, but again, that's a paid way. It's ran a bet $10 per month. But I'll include that as part of the bonus listening
thesis was of interest to finish out niche
research lesson. Remember, keep track of it, use the tracker and just try and keep the process of
finding those books. That ranking. Well, there's enough
customer results will search results of
the under 2 thousand. But the competition
isn't as hard, so you can actually
rank for those books. That concludes lesson. I'll be ready for the
next lesson in a moment.
11. Lesson 8.1 Book Cover and Niche Research: Welcome to this law of lesson. Now, I apologize in advance if you can hear the
birds in the background. It is early morning here and the birds are
just coming up. I just wanted to go through a live process of trying
to identify what works really well with book
covers and what features a standing out to customers and what are generally look for. If I was looking for a book, let's look for I'm just trying to
think of different activity books may be for kids, that might be in the
low content area. If we did applying
activity books for kids. Let's just do this one here. If we have a look at these ones. Firstly, well, before we
get into 1000 results. And so what we might even
quickly do while we're doing this is a quick little bit of niche research to find
out how this is going. Let's have a look at the, so this is on the books and
it's got a thousand results. It's got an average sales
rank of 10 thousand. That could be a great little
niche to get into if you are wanting to get into a applying
activity books, IGES ten. There we have it quickly. Sometimes these niche
research things happen. So anyway, what we're
gonna do is continue on. And what I want to
do is focused on what book covers a
working well and what features you need to
look for yourself to then design that could also
stand at the customers. So let's get into this now. The first thing that
all would be looking for to see the ranking, because then that gives us an idea of where the
customers are buying it. Now this book here,
it has no reviews, but looks to be
tracking quite well. What we do, we go, Okay,
let's have a look. It's got features of Watson inside and I'll notice
that some book covers, if you do include what is
inside customers like that. Let's have a look through here. That's again, what they've done, leveling little illustration
of what might be inside. So we have that got 94 reviews. Let's have a look inside
this book as well. And I'll be just
looking at a like high, they've used relatively plain. Sorry about that. I've used
basic text on the cover. But notice how they've used quite a bit of the spice
or a lot of the space. And the subtitle is there. It's pretty clear to there. It's pretty small,
but it's clear. So notice how they're used. All the ****** I came. If we scroll, actually
what we're gonna do, we're gonna have a
quick look inside. Let's say how if I've used
these kinds of things as well. So I've done a couple of
different activities. Depends how much of the
installed looking features. So they haven't expanded
the look inside feature and more than beyond 10%. But you can see the
activities of fairly basic, but we're looking at the
cavities on as well. Let's just go back here. Back to results. We
just keep that in mind. We keep going down. This is the book that
was up the top here. I think that's
changed either now. We keep going down 24 thousand. It's quite busy. But again, you can
see how they've used most despised there. I do like that cover. That's quite good. I'm not sure what
the ranking is odd. Don't want to click
on it because these people are paying
for response area there. But you can see these quad
plain in regards to inside. Sorry about saying that
this keeps coming up. This activity. It's not to do with
their applying, but you can find different ideas as you
go through as well. It's a spice book,
spice coloring book. Pipelines for kids. It's good as well. That's not standing
up pretty well. I do like how they've
done this border. Notice how it really stands out and punches out towards you. That's what you're looking for. That cover, we've
seen that before. I think I, even during
some niche research, it does stand out. This one again. So you have outboard logcat, I've used the watt and I've got a bit of a shading around these, which then makes it push out. That's something you need to
keep in mind in the school. Colors and things
in the background. Going down. Again, they've got good pictures and things in solid that one. Interesting. Unknown, messy fan of
discoverability selling well, that's a really good cava, or do like that again, by use big headings, they use Gu colors. I've used a little banner here. The subtitles easy to read. It's nice that they used nearly all the spice,
nearly oldest spice. So let's have a
quick looking saw or let's say noted before. She doesn't she's done
a lot of work before. Look here. Let's have a look inside. Usually the books
don't have a lot of content and inflammation, but they do sell well. That's very basic. Very basic. Again, they do sell well. Jennifer L. Trace books, but they
don't have a lot of great things from our perspective that should
be selling really well. But I do. Again, let's capable
looking good. It's stands out. These books, this quantity is
quite a good niche because it's got a lot of different really good rankings. And it's a thousand
results as well. And that gives us some
really good ideas about what we need to
look for in that area. So let's have a
look at this guy. If an activity book, Let's just go for kids. Histone, let's say how much it changes where we
are going to be. Big. 6 thousand is not too bad. Let's keep going
down a bit further. Again. The things I can spot that you can see the
hitting quite well. I've used good colors, these, that book there
that we saw before. We get going down, we saw that one as well. That one's noss and colorful. I think that'll actually
pick up a wind was at least that was
published in 2020, or think that will
actually go into Goodman and maintenance got
some really good reviews. Have a look at those reviews. It all depends though, on what the reviews are saying. Let's have looking sawed. Again, it's, it's a good
cover or like head, I've used the font top. There might be, I
could've changed up the color a little bit to make a broader for that scale
going down, they get C. I think this has got
a lot of potential, this book, a lot of potential that gone to
a favorite of work. To get this done. I got some really good little airplane icons
and things like that. Do believe that that will
continue to go too well. But let's have a look at there. Activity or the eardrum
benign author central page. It looks like I've just
got the one book so far. Some surprised about that. But it is going to improve. I think it's only
58 pages though. That's the only thing by
these trucking quite well. So let's get back again. Back here. Let's go back to the
different results and find out what other
features a standing out. And that was probably
the darkness of the dark blue and name the watt
that's standing out for me. I think that's something
that you need to keep in mind when you're designing any of these sorts
of things as well. Having a look, they seemed
to be quite popular. The preschool activity
books should, trucks, cars and airplanes, uh, dinosaurs, but it's
quite a saturated niche. Dinosaurs. Again,
paper airplanes of saying that one
might be if we do, let's have a quick look. Again. This is going to be a bit of
a combo law of session where it's niche research
and we're looking at book covers to get that rod books, book for kids. So let's have a look and
say 4 thousand results. So there's quite a few results. But if we looked on
the old departments, that will also give us a
bit of an indication that's only 428 results
on the all case. I 36 thousand. Wouldn't mind having
to look at that book. I'm going to try and find it. I don't want to click
on the sponsored book. Again, non thousand sponsored
921 ultimate pipelines. Pipelines. Pipelines are applying. Wow, these are
doing really well. These books really well. As a couple that on, but if you could make
one of these books, then that would be great. So let's go back and
see how complicated one of these books
would Beta mic. Let's have this. This was released
in February 92021. And let's have a look inside. Good cover, nice
head. I've got back. I just really liked that kava, it's nice and bold. I've used a really good Illustrator, picture that got the clouds and the awesome
paper airplane book for kids credit designs
and fun tear at projects. So this might be a bit
trickier to create. But again, if you prepared to step up and do more
things like this, then it could work for you. They've used II Plus content, which is part of the course. I'll teach you how to do that. If you haven't already
watched that session. And I've got some really good different
things here as well. They've got an editorial review. Let's go back and say how, how this would be to
actually like going here. Again, good cover. Scroll down. Rock Ridge Press. So
it's actually been done by an official publisher. And the smart be where
the challenge lies. So let's keep going down. They've got good contents page. And I've got information about the plain tops of
planes as well. And then I show how to do that. So it could, it could be quite a tricky book
to Mike potentially, but that's not decided. Maybe other ones that might be easy to Mike bit
what all would do from that one is take notice of the cover
and how they did it. Let's keep going down. This one is 36 thousand
March 202117 reviews. Let's have a look at
this one as well. Against the cut color
folder and flawed book. Let's have a look at the
reviews and what it does, what that review is about. But anyway, let's have
looking saw at it and see how to EDCs covers. Okay, ARB wouldn't rank
that really highly. That go 45 Paper Planes. Look down here. I've got different illustrations and photos of how it's done. That's all I've done a ads and pitches lot that on
it and then I fold it. Dotted lines and peaches
on their very basic. These could be easily replicated
so that I can isolate. They'd probably just got
these can make the pipe but plains themselves and taken photos often than not just added a couple of arrows
when they've taken a photo, made it the black screen in the back and just
edit some arrows. And then I just got 45 plane. So it's not necessarily 45 different sorts
of very appliance. It's 45 pipelines. So let's go back and have a quick look at the description. Because that could
be something that you might like to create. Create 45 unique pilot airplanes from non different designs. So they only got nine
different designs. And then I've just
got these fun pages. So it's really basic, very basic, but it's
doing really well. That's one that you
should brought down. Before we get caught up too
much in niche research, let's scroll down
further than just shows you what she can find if you just scrolling
through and having a bit of a look at
different ideas. And I've just stumbled across this idea while we've been
doing this law I've reviewed. So let's have a look here. I think that's gonna be a
bit harder than one to do. Other ones here as well. Keep going down. Let's just try one other thing. So let's let's try. We're going to go for this is truck truck books for kids, for the water results. You probably wouldn't
owe as well. So it's probably
getting on the books, it's probably gonna
be even more. Let's have a look at this. It's gonna be pretty
18 thousand results, probably too many results, but that could be mixed in with a lot of other different books. Anyway, we're having to
look at different designs. You can see here, cut and paste, That's
quite a fictive. I think that'll
start to get better. It's only got it's
got 16 results. Sorry, 16 reviews. I can see that tracking. Okay. Let's keep going down. Trucks activity book. I've said a couple of days and I tend to stand out quite well. Minutes. It's not something that
I consider, is it right. Covered, but it
must must reason. I worked with kids.
I must like it. If we keep going down here, there's another one using those sort of
features like that. Truck activity, coloring, book, Dinosaurs days and dump trucks. That's doing very well. Let's have a quick
look at this one and what size special, better. Maybe it's the Be bold, rotting. And they've combined dinosaurs, dig is and dump trucks together. And let's have a look at total. So domiciled dig isn't
dump trucks coloring book, cute and fun dinosaur and truck coloring book
for kids and toddlers. It's a bestseller in children's construction
vehicle books. It's ID1 pages I 0.5
by seven inches. Let's keep going down further. They've done an I plus content. Again, you can do
these kinds of things. This is having a looking
saw the book as well. They've obviously got
an Illustrator that's coming and drawn some
of these for them. And that can be done. You cannot source
new Illustrator on something look farther. And it's not that. But if you invested money to get an illustrator and the bookies ranking at nearly a thousand, then you will get your money
back very, very quickly. That's amazing.
Cube Coloring Book. Got five stars everywhere
verified purchases. Well, and then this one a lot phase where
you can actually have looking saw it so I
can see why I love it. Because it's gonna be
combination trucks of graders and dinosaurs, which kids, particularly
young kids really love. It's got everything that they need and it looks like
it's a good size as well. Let's keep going back up
and see if we can look in sorted before we
finish up this lesson. But again, notice how they use the most space
on the covers. Good subtitle. You can say that a really
good hitting there as well. Let's have looking sod. You can see how they've
had an illustrated duties. Just really good illustrations. And you could engage. An illustrator might
cost a rant about 15, $20 per illustration, maybe less depending on where you get those
illustrations from. But again, if you were into $150 on getting a great
illustrations done, then it could be well
worth your time. And what they moderate done is the truck illustrations may
have already been available, but what the
Illustrator has done is just add some faces on them. And the dinosaurs. And
the dinosaur here. I think that's what
they might've done. That's actually been
just a truck joined, but I've actually added
these components on so Thoroughgood
Illustrator that I could actually put the dinosaur
in there potentially. Again, with that one, they have, I quick look at covers, niche re-search and a bit of a combination
and everything really. It's just a good
opportunity for me to show you what I do when I'm looking through
researching full books that I can create had difficult. What covers of people or authors doing that is
standing out and getting good reviews and getting
tracking really well to their IDs that all can see
that coming out right now. They are the kinds of things
that I want you to look for. And YouTube continue
to get better at as you work through your
KID pay publishing journey. Because it's taken
me some time to get used to what works well, but just look at the font tops, look at the colors
they are using, looking sod the book, the bouquets is to
create what features that I putting on
the cover that might stand out to customers as well. And these are the kind of thing is he just got a cape looking at and find out what works. Don't try and do something that no one's
ever done before. You must will stick with
something that works and then focus hard on making the best quality
product you can. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. And it was again, just something I want to
show you about the process I go through when I'm
looking at niche research, cover design, and combining
both of those together.
12. Lesson 9 - Creating Your Title and Subtitle: Welcome to the next
module in regards to pay low and no
content creation. This module, we'll
be talking about total creation and the
things that you need taking consideration regards to
how you create your title, what you need to include in
the title and the subtitle, and different elements that
we can look at as well. When you're creating your total. There are things that
you need to consider. And Tata creation
is different from a self publisher can pay to someone that's
very well-known. If you're very well-known, you've got a huge presence
in the social market, or you're very well-known TV
presenter or fitness guru, then there's every
opportunity for you to be able to create your
title as you want. But as self-published is, we need to aim for
special keywords. So let's have a look
on Amazon and see how people have been using keywords to create their titles. So if we were to jump
on Amazon and we were to write cursive, most data ROC curve. See if you can see different
words will come up here. These are the ones that Amazon customers are
searching for the day for. A book. Title needs to represent
what customers are searching for because
he's now calling it. If we're doing
cursive handwriting, teens rotting book for great
creative spellers, whatever. People aren't searching for
that you need to look for the someone is obviously looking for cursive handwriting
workbook for teams. If he did that, then cursive
handwriting workbook, Simon cursive handwriting, cursive handwriting workbook, cursive handwriting workbook, cursing handwriting
workbook for teens. So that's why these books
are coming up on page one, because it's including
the actual keywords that customers are
searching for. So you need to
ensure that you can continue to look into that. So if we were to click on this one and have
a bit of a look, then you go through
and you can see that even the Y that I've written the description is really important and we'll
talk about that soon. But making sure that the
language using on his noss and clear and it's easy for the customer to see it as
what we call F thumbnail. So the thumbnail is these
little pictures here as you're scrolling down and
needs to capture the eye of the customer quickly. Your book title is important. And when you're
creating your title, this section here, between
here and the two dots, that is the total, then I include the
subtitle from there onwards and you need to
make both stands out. Let's go back up here. And we have a look at this one. Print handwriting
workbook for teens. Improve your printing
handwriting practice print, penmanship workbook
for teens and tweens. If you have a look at this one. Cursive handwriting
workbook for teens, because he brought in
practice book for teens, tweens, and young adults. So the important thing is
that you include what you've, what you've got on your cover needs to be represented
with your title, so that must represent that. But with your subtitle, you can actually include extra words which you don't
need to include only cover. This is where research
will be important as well. So if we go back to research, we need to include
different way I include different words that we might not have been out
to include net total, but we conclude in a subtitle. Priority. When we're doing
this, is to ensure the best keywords the
customers are searching for, which of these ones
are included in total. If we can't fit them in the tar because I
didn't make sense. So you don't want to be
what they call keyword stuffing with people
include keywords, we just don't make sense. If you can't fit them in your title and make
it to longer title. That included in the
New York subtotal is another area that
I'll talk about soon where you can include
any lift either words, which will help
with your ranking for Amazon cardiac pain. That's a y to create your title. And we'll just do
one more example. If we were to do garden journal and planner, would
have look here. You can see people
was searching. We did plan up gotten journal. You can see people
looking for logbook. Log book for kids,
garden journal logbook. You can include some of
these things and you subtitle if it makes sense. So if we go to garden
journal for kids, know why the gratitude
journal is featuring in the arms got 40
thousand words. But if you scroll down, you can see all the
different things that are in here as well. And you can see how they've
been using the keywords. So they can get ranked
on page one and then dive use different words
in here for the subtotal. Remember, just make sure
you don't overdo it. This one is sort of
pushing on the limits. Gardening general for kids. Hydroponic, organic
subatomic containers saving. See here they've been
keyword stuffing. You don't want to do that. You just want to make sure it flows and it's nice and
easy to understand. That is a way of creating
your title and your subtitle. Just make sure that it has ranking keywords
which will appear up here which people which
customers are searching for. You can use your
keyword expander to help with that as well. These words that come up and
use them, KF linear title. And then anybody can use in your total using
your subtotal. And then I'd also make it at
least of these other words. You can include them as you
load your book decayed. Apo show you soon, but you can including me in what I call the
seven keyword box. And I'll show you that one
of the future modules. So listens, it's coming up soon. So that is how to create your
title and your subtitle. One important area
that I forgot to over did overlook was
ensuring that you are actually in
compliance with title and subtitle creation regards to
infringing on trademarks. And I will just wanted
to include this as part of the title
and subtitle module. But there is a salt
you can go to called US PTO.gov trademark search. And you can actually
do a search under search at trademarks
data by ice, and that will notify you when you are infringing
on any trademarks. And it's important
that you check this, because if you don't check it, then you just
wouldn't want to have any we can get your account terminated by KID pay if you're
infringe on that, there could be some legal things that ramifications by doing it. So don't use words like Disney or any big
trademark names, but even smaller ones. On either dot dot journal, I believe is a trademarked nine. So you wouldn't use
that in your title. Those are the things you need to check before you
larger book two, kVp, and this is the
website just here as well. So make sure you check that and you just
go onto the website and search our
trademark database and check for your title, make sure it's not infringing on any trademarks or copyrights.
13. Lesson 10 - How to Create Your Book Cover: Welcome to the next
lesson or module. It's all about cover
creation and making sure that you can create covers which you're gonna
be attractive to customers. Now these are just some of the
book covers it off design. I don't have any design
background or anything like that, but I'll have worked hard to create covers that
are attractive for customers and making
sure that they stand out. When we're looking at
our cover creation, we want to try and create as many of them we've
possible for frame. And of course I've got
the Canva pro version, which gives me more graphics and illustrations and things. But there's also
freeways of creative. If we go two ways we
can create free covers, then we're going to set up a
free account with Canva.com. And we're going to talk about the importance of cover
creation and design. Some of the things that
you need to consider when you're creating
your cover letter. At first, the different cover sizes that were
permitted on kVp. Then we're gonna go to Canada. And I'm going to show you a few of the steps
that you need to take to create your cover
for keda pay upload. If we were to have
a quick look at KD paid and the
size that I permit. These are the ones down
here that we can look at. So you can not do them in
black ink and white paper, black ink and Crane paper, standard color or premium color. Now the typical size for no and low content books are
either 6.96 by nine inch, seven by ten, or even 8.5 by 11. So it's sort of similar to an
I4 piece of piece of paper, just a little bit smaller,
just a little bit narrower. Then the trim size for hardcover books are giving
you five different options. The moment 6.85.5 days, 46 by nine, and then goes
through the 0.25 violin. And so it makes it
tricky if you have a kappa and I 0.5 by 11. But the hardback is I
point to five by 11, so you need to make
a few adjustments. Davis sizes. So we're going to
do an 8.5 by 11. I'm going to create a
composition notebook. And it's just gonna
be nice and easy for me to show you the
process of doing that. So let's go to canva.com now and I'll show
you the process. Remember to go to canva.com. You got to the sign-up
up here and you just simply sign up with an account you provide
your email address. And you, if on your password, you can decide just to use the free version to begin with. And then if you feel
like updating, you can. But when I'm doing mine, you'll see that I do have
a number of pipe elements, but I'll try and use all the free ones to
show you the process. Let me sign into my account now. I'm on my account
for Canada now. And what we're going to be doing is we're going to
create a design. We would go, we
can custom design, but we do scope,
create a design. And we go down to Custom Size. And we're doing an IPO, 0.5 by 11:00 AM I to
II changes to inches. I 0.5 by 11 inches. And that's what Katie was
specifying as the psoas, a book that we can do, we would create new design. So we're just going to be doing the front cover at
this point in time. So this gives us
blank front cover. And then we can also
make sure we can do our back cover that I'll show you that
process in a moment. So you've got all different
elements you can choose from. You've got choices
here in regards to if you just did shapes,
you just wrote shapes. And it'll bring up a whole
lot of different elements. You've got photos,
your graphics, videos. Those beat any videos of course, but you're using,
those are graphics. Then you can go,
you've got uploads it, you've monochromatic before. You've got take so you can
choose different ones. You can just go heading
there and then you can change it to whatever
you wanted to do. For example, there's a
lot of different options. You can upload different on different texts
as well and fonts. So there's a lot of different options you
can do with Canva. In regards to the element side. Let's, let's just do a
composition notebook. Let's do a dinosaur
composition notebook. And I'll show you the
process and how easy it is. So if we were to
sketchy elements, we would go dinosaur background. This mark will its aim for a six to eight year-old
child logs dinosaurs. So it's scroll down and always different
elements are here. So if you just wanted to choose a background, he has his pro. That means that it's a
paid model that I've got. And you can't go decaying up and choose free options as well. I'm not see a ******* font
that just go to here. I'll choose free cloth filters. Now this gives me all the free different
dinosaur peaches at all can actually use, and you can use them for
commercial use as well. So you don't have to be
concerned about using a dinosaur that you'd be worried about a bad
the commercial use. Now you can also do templates. So you can do dinosaur now
the main thing is that if you do get a template that your
normal add just to use, for example, we just go replies, for example, you
can't just use these. You need to make an
adjustment to it. Let's turn these into our
composition notebook. We can either keep
the corner rotting here or we can create our own. We might get rid of that. This is marked cool. We've marked knew these up here. Like that name. We can reduce the size. We can bring that down. And we can even reduce
this to say 30. Might be BI tool
might get PBM 0.511. We might even bring
that up there, bring that down there. And we can make that
different color. Let's make it a yellow. Bring it down there. Mike, that black or brown
would had a calorie wanted to and we can adjust it.
We want it to be there. That we can just do this. Sorry about the dog
barking in the background. We can just keep adjusting
different things. So you might want to
put number pages, for example, might be say 150. You can do whatever you want to. It's just a bad *** and creative and thinking of
that what kids might want. And you can put say nine
until we can get these, bringing it down, we can
have we can even move these dinosaurs
around as well if we wanted to. We can
bring that down. Let these here. You can just be nice and
creative as you're doing it. You might want to move it, move the elements around
even more so it's up to you. Now, the main thing we
want to make sure we don't do with Al-Qaeda when we load it to ADP that don't want writing that goes too
close to the border. Now what I would recommend is you can even use an element. You just got to say shape. This. What we're looking
for, paving shapes. What we're looking for
is a graphic that allows us tonight sure that we
don't go outside the border, so we just go to even
if we need to square, that probably will bring it up. When we do that. We just bring it like this. Let's just make it yellow
so we can actually see it. If we go back there
just to be safe. That would be about approximately ran like that where you wouldn't want to go. Any of your writing
cannot extend beyond that yellow line and you'll see it when
I applied the book, you'll see exactly what a
name you welcome to even keep a lawn lot that on
your book as a border. What you can do right-click
and you guys send to back. And then it goes behind
these dinosaurs. So it could be even
a guide for you, which you can actually
keep there as well. And if you wanted to make any changes to things
you can do that. You can even make this
a little bit bigger. You can move that
in place as well. It could move the stand further. That's the great
thing about Canva. You can keep adding
different elements onto it. And you might want to add. You could even bring that
down into the middle. You can have details on that. So it is up to you. What am I do is they'll just
do a few finishing touches. And I'll come back and I'll show you the finished product. What I've done is just
added a bit of a feature, a better looking
like a dinosaur's breaking and flying out from
behind through the kava. I've just adjusted the
color a little bit as well. I want to do now is. I would download this
in a pain J format. And we just download that. And we make sure that
we keep that saved. And the next part will be, we've just got that say there. We've actually what
we should've done. He's actually added
a subheading, so we would call it
dinosaur composition. From cover. This. Then what we would do is we need to create
the back cutter. Now we want to keep
the sign colors. What we would do, we
would go to File, we would go to make a copy. And then this would
allow us to have assign colors that are
organized for a book. If you wanted to, you could keep elements of these
dinosaurs in place. What we probably do is
get rid of these ones. We wouldn't need those. You could always reduce this small if you wanted to
sign with this one here. You can just reduce
heading size if we wanted to zoom it
out to make it easier, you can do that as well. Not really wanting to
behave itself here, is it? Just do that? Put it under there, let that
just make sure its name. We can make these a
bit smaller as well. Do whatever you want with them. We could get rid of that one. What we'd also need to
make sure we've got a barcode that usually
sits around here. We just need to make
sure that we're not putting peaches over or where the barcode will
sit around about here. So that for example,
that would be the back. Now what we would do is
we would then change this to back cover that. We would then again download. And we would cite
those two files in a folder so we know
exactly where they are. And I've just saved and both in the folder so I can
refer to them later. Now the next step we need
to do is make sure this is compatible to what we were when we upload
our book to Katie pay, we need to ensure we are meeting the guidelines in
regards to the psoas, cicada, a paper virus with a template which we can
use our calculator. And we're going to have a, a 120 pages by 8.5 by 11. So let me go to how we
calculate that now. This is called the
cover calculator. So if you were just to
Google kVp cover calculator, it would bring you to give you an option to click on this
link here on this page. What we would do, we would
do Paperback interior. We're going to do
standard or sorry, black and white Paper top. We're going to use whitepaper. Page turn, so it's actually, it's left to rot. We just leave it at
that measurement units. We're using inches,
interior trim size. We're using an 8.5
by 11 page count. We're using 120 pages. And then we calculate
the dimensions. And these will actually give us the actual dimensions
of what we need to do. So if you can see
here the width, we need to remember
these calculations here, 7.5 to 11.25. We would then go
back to Canva and we would go back to here we go. Let me just go back to
the calculator again. 17.5 to 17.42. And this is how we put out both front and back
pages together. And those things are 11.5. I believe it was it
was a limit to five. So we get a QA within 0.25, and then we create a new design. Now this gives us
this whole area here. Now what we need to do is upload our files and that will go here. But the first thing
we need to do is to actually get the color
of the background. So we'd go into here, highlight there, See
that comes up there. We would click on that. We would find what that code is
and we copy that code. Would then go back
to here and go to their control V. And that sets us up with the
color for the background. Now all we need to do is
get out front and back. Now we got to upload and you
would upload your media. We would find our file. And I'll do that right now. And here are two file, so it's simply upload
both of them up. Then what we do,
click on that one, bring that across, Click on that one, and bring that across. Now the final thing
we need to do is go back here and says
download a template. Now this template,
unless she shows exactly where we
need to book covers, this actually downloads for us. And we click on this. We go to this one just
here, the PNG file. We open it up. And what we can do is
actually just go control, control and print
screen and copy it. We can then go
back to add is on. Sorry about this
jumping around a bit. Just make sure we've got
this all loaded as well. We don't want to soar. Sorry. Cover funnel. And we would control V
pasting that template on. We would then treatment to
the right size on these. Then we expand it the corners. Then we can reduce
the transparency. You can actually send it to
the back, into the back. Now I can actually bring
these to the edges. We know exactly where EPO
cover is going to be. Do it like that. That then we need to make sure we
right-click it, send it back. Ra click, Send it back. We need to get rid
of this template. Now, we have our
cover ready to go. Nuts. What we need to do to be able to upload it to ADP in
the right format. Now, we need to make sure
we save it as a PDF. Pdf print. Don't save it as
a PNG PDF print. We save that. The net cover will
be perfect for us to actually load
it up two kVp. And that's the process
that we need to follow. So we would then save that file to where we're keeping all
of our false read books. I've done that now if cytosol, we've got to have front
at back and add cover, which is f final PDF. And that will, that will be the perfect size for when
we upload it to take ADP. That's the final part of book creation or
sorry, cover creation. So I hope that was really
helpful for you in this module. And the next area will be back creating the
manuscript for it. So I'll see you in
the next lesson.
14. Lesson 11 - The Critical Steps of Cover Design: One of the really
important features of book cover design is getting
some k elements, right? There are four elements
that I believe a critical when you're
developing your book cover. Because as we know, people do judge a
book by its cover. And therefore, when
you create a new book, he needed to take these four
elements into consideration. So let me run through what those four elements are to
make sure that you book, he's going to stand
out to the customer. Now the critical thing about cover design is making sure that it's something that the
customers are going to look at when I click
on immediately. And it's something that many our authors struggle
with because I don't have necessarily the
design skills or the experience and
not a designer. I don't have any
formal qualifications. However, I've worked really
hard on trying to determine what key elements are required for a really
good book cover. And it has taken on. In this lesson, we're
just going to have a quick look through some of the features is
some good designs and maybe some things that
people could work on. Then I'm going to identify a full key features
which you really need to identify and implement
in your book cover design. So let's scroll down
here and have a look. What we're looking
for is we want to make sure that
they are using pretty much the nicer,
the spice as well. We've looked through
here, these ones, nurse and easy to read. Remember people are gonna be scrolling through log
I'm doing right now. And they discover
would stand out to me. So it is a unicorn coloring
book for kids aged. Now that might be a
bit hard to read at blades for the white
because I can say a bear, um, but the cover really stands out because of those
colors that we're using. So this is the speed that most customers
will look through. And now look at
the cover design. They might have a quick look at the customer reviews as well. Or it might be just a design. I click on it and then I review. We'll have a look at the
different reviews are on there. These are the customers guy threw a book cover a lot
that will stand at as well. Let's now go and
have a look at what I spoke k features
are as part of a great book cover design
and what things people do incorrectly that could
cause I cover failure. So let's have a look at
what design elements mike, part of the griped cover. Let's have a little
bit of a look. What are they that are
really important to us? Number one, the graphics, the graphics that you use, needs to be appropriate to the audience that your
marketing, your book too. If it's, for example, toddlers, they need to be pitchers or illustrations that
are really going to stand out for toddlers. The font top you use, there's no point using small phone top or font
taught that customers can't read from that thumbnail that the scrolling through. So it needs to be unquote
bold for them to see. The total needs to stand out. And you'd need to be
able to have it so that people will customers know
what the book's about. Number four is effective
use of the spice. And what we're given is
actually quite small, particularly if
it's a little fun. Now, use that space effectively. Now what we're now going to
do is go to a cover that I designed on Canada
and give us safe. I had been out to address, that is k design features. Our design is on Canva pro, and now you can get
the free version and you can use them. Or you can use a pro version that I subscribe to an either subscribe to it because it's important to me and part of
our scaling or business. I'm not going to scrimp
on a subscription to a software that are now makes me thousands
of dollars and mouth. Having something locked up. If you were interested
in Canva Pro, just go to the description, you'll see the link
for Canva pro. And in a moment I'll show you
some of the key elements, both the free and the
paid version which you can use in his cover of chart to use noss big font types of Troy to use I elements, and graphics which
are child-friendly. Use the spice as much as I can and I'll fill out the
color combinations of working. But there are things that are could properly
improve on as well. Let's go and jump on Canada
and have a look at this book. As always designing it. This is actually the
original book cover that our head and all I was doing when I was using a
search box here under elements to find out these features and it
was gonna be a clown, or sorry, not a client. I a circus theme. With these things here. All these are, if you look. A clouds. And I've just got a single Cloud that are
dying out unlike look a bit bigger and it allows
me to do this one here. We just bring it up. Might be a bit hard
to see that one. I'm not even go for a
more delete that one so you can actually see
what we're doing here. All I used was iCloud
and expanded it. So if we go this one, well, it is a simple little cloud
and all those out drag it and then bringing the
other elements around it. So if we were to, if we
wanted to similar clouds, so that one, we would just go to elements, we'd brought Cloud. Then it would bring up
all the different Clouds. Now, these might show
club pro version Cloud. So when I hover over it, it tells me where it's a pro
version or free version. But just say I'll
scroll down and I thought this Clare looks good. So I'll click on that. Then it would come over to
my book cover over here. Then just expanded to the
size that I wanted to. And then if I wanted
to go to the back, then I will just right-click. And then I just
say send it back. And then that goes to
the back of the picture. But you say you thought, Well, I don't want the clouds. I want a different, a different sort of loops. We go back here and do that
one because I had the word. We could even change
that color of that word. We might want to make
that green, for example. And we can change that
up and move it across. But just say we didn't
like that blue background and we wanted to make
it pop even more. What we would do, let's find a background that
might be suitable if we just do circus because
it's circus theme. We got this. It'll come up with a whole heap of
different graphics that we want. And again, there's a
little clown there. But we want a background that could be around that
might be a bit dull. It's almost looks
like a popcorn box, which is so explain. This one looks pretty good. So what we do, we just
click on that there. That will then come
across, right-click. We then replace the background and then it comes up with this. And that might make it
stand out even more. And there might be
elements that I can sort of removed now. But if we wanted any of
these sort of pitches, there's the, the gorgeous this, you just click on it
and it comes across. And then we can move
that ring master. We can make making bigger, making smaller, whatever
you want to do. But most importantly, is
if you change your colors, you need to ensure
that the cow is, again to stand up for
what you're using. So for example, if we night
that code that's not going to work there for you went
to like I and I pink, then that would stand out more and that would need
to be changed as well, just so that the color
combinations are actually working and you
might want to get through root of Sundays as well, but some of the words
could be changed as well. So if we wanted to change, so we go shadow, see this ridge shadow there. We would go to black. We would increase
the transparency. And now at really stands out. You can move it around
on the page as well. But it's about getting the right color combinations using a space and
the rod font types. So for this one, that font type is called chewy. And I've found that
that was quite a, almost like a preschool
kind of a font type. And I think
preschoolers would lock the circus theme and it
would work well for them. So these are the elements
that are tried to bring together to make
it nice and clear. Now, the thing that
I could probably improve on would be this one you could probably enhance or could make that much clearer. If you looked at
the thumbnail and saw that in nine
opiate or rated. So it's something I could
probably really improve on. But let's go back to the
document and just check a couple of other options
that we have as well as part of design as a book covers. What we need to do
if we just go here, you've got the other
white cover design. You could use Canva, which you can create. But if you're not a designer
or your preferences to outsource that it could
guide WHO group called Father. And you might have used
suave the before and you can use it definitely
for book cover creation. Now farther on in environment. Father is a freelancer, a website where you can really pick a number
of different things. So if we just did
book cover design. We do our search. Then it comes up
with a number of different options
you can choose. I can choose on your budget. You can choose on the
category, the relevance. So if we scroll down
here and have a look at different options to look at
what I'll be looking for. Something new, something that
might stand out for you. There might be different covers he that they could
work in your favor. So let's go back up here. Let's do a budget. We're going to do a
budget of $10 to say $24. Even we'll do 30 because
the wire, I'll look at it. If you're spending
time creating a book, you need to spend some money on the book cover because it's 9. Creating a great manuscripts and then scraping
on the book cover. And now whenever I say
it or an idea for y-bar, for you, look down here, we're looking for book covers
that might stand out to us, different options that
you think could work. And the guy nice to
these cover designers to load content books,
even know Content book. So let's have a
look at this one. Starting at $14, we
would simply click on it and the guy and the link for father is in the description. So if you felt
that you wanted to add social book cover creation, then definitely try
us a book cover creating software or a
platform like farther, because it might
really help you out. Having a look here. You look at the different
cover creations at the author's done that
on crossword puzzles. I've done. It looks like a
coloring book as well. So click on this
next one as well. We can see what else I've done. You can see there's a
whole different type, Dave and down
halloween themes as well, coloring activity books. It seems to be, oops, we'll go back to that one
looks really good as well. That's a practice curve. Curse, rotting, sorry,
cursive handwriting workbook. So these are the things that you can have a look at as well. And what you could do is just pick the different
packages that you get, three cover designs
and source file. This one would just be
one cover design or premium six cover desires
for eighty-five dollars. Fare to be really, really good. I use them quite. Even up to three months ago, I use one for book that are created just because I
didn't have the expertise and the kind of
book calls creating and really, really well. So they're the things that
you need to consider. Remember, let's go
back a couple of steps and think about
the key elements. Just to finish with that, we want to highlight is part
of book cover creation. Graphics. Make sure you got appropriate
and suitable graphics for your audience. The font-awesome. Make sure the font
top is suitable. Again for the color
combinations or you're using the size of your book and making sure that
customers can read it. The title needs
to be big enough. Again, if you've got
a little thumbnail that customers are
scrolling through, that needs to be
able to read that. And then finally,
effective use of spice. I you using all your
space on your book cover. And not just honing
in on one small area. Make sure you do that. So I hope these tips have really helped you in regards to cover creation and work really hard at mastering
book cover creation. And if you're not intuit, outsource it to a
group hug father. And I've got the links below for both Canva pro and also
for Fiverr as well, if that was what
you wanted to do. But most people file in book cover creation because I don't follow these
key elements in these key for key reasons or settings for setting up the rock book cover
for your market. So I really hope
that that's helped.
15. Lesson 11 Part 2 - How to Create a Hardcover for KDP: In this lesson, I'm
going to teach you how to create your hardback
books for cat API. Now it's something fairly new the cardiac pave introduced, but he's another why
the customers can actually look to buy
other piping bag, hardback or even an a book, if that's a book that
you've got loaded up onto your book catalog. So let me step you through the process of how to
create your hub x. So therefore, it's
another source of income and revenue view
self-publishing business. When you jump onto
your dashboard, you'll see this option
now available previously, it was just the Kindle
e-book and the paperback, but now we have hardcover. Now as I mentioned, it's rolling out
to most authors. Some of you might
just need to wait just a little bit longer
for it to become available. Particularly if you
have a new account for those authors or publishes
the BNF for quite awhile. It might have become available
a little bit earlier. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to turn this
book just here, which I've used as an example
in a previous video before. Again, I haven't
marketed that book. It's just been a book
for example purposes. It's a seven button and I'm
going to show you how to turn that book into the Christ,
the hardcover option. But before I do
that, let me go and show you the success
that I've had in August for hardcover books and whether it's worth
your time to convert them. Let's have a look at this now. In the month of August 2021, managed to always
manage yourself. 59 hardcover book. So if we have a look here, I slipped it hardcover
and applaud that. That's sort of how the
high calf as a tracking. What about if we did
this month to die, which we're currently
in September 2021. So let me have a look and
see how I'm currently tracking with hard
copies for September. I've got 34 that are
being sold already. So it does show you
that it's worth the time and the effort
to convert your, particularly your beta
selling books too hard kappa. So let's get into the process
of actually how to do that. And I'm going to use
an example that I showed you before,
which is this one here. We're going to use
Canva to create these. So the first thing we need to do is click on Create hardcover. If you've created the
pipe tobacco already, the kVp will pre-populate
all the details for you. You simply just scroll down, make sure that all the
information is suitable. And you might have your
description all there, the k words, you might
educate the sign. Then we go Save and Continue. And the categories might already be in place that
you'd like to have. You can choose different
categories if you like. But I like just, just capable
assign details in place. Now, you can use the
free kite APIs begin. If you've used, if you'd
like to use your own, you're, this way
you'd need to enter. Use my own ISBN. For these kinds of books. I'll just use the free ADP ISBN. So I just saw on
that, scroll down. Now this is where we need to
choose the print options. We've got to have black and
white with Crane paper. I'm gonna keep it with black
and white into white paper, you can choose printing color. But it does start to
get quite expensive, but it depends on the kind
of book you're doing. If you're doing a Children's
illustrated book, then of course you'd want to
do premium cola interior. Now this is where I mentioned. It's only a few
sources available. If we have a look
here, we've got a 4.5 by 0.56.96.147 by ten, I 0.25 by 11. So they're the options that are viable way going to select seven by ten because that's the book size that
originally had. Now it does show
you I 0.25 by 11. Now this is a challenging one because if you have
done an 8.5 by 11, you need to adjust it
to fit the eye, 0.25. So it's a bit different and I'm not sure why they've done that. But it does make it
a little bit more challenging if you've
got an 8.5 by 11. But I can look at Mike making
another video for those of you that do have an eye 0.5 and need to convert
it to the size. But in this video, we'll just use your
seven bar tin. So we've selected that one. We're going to use no bleed and we're going to use weak
MOD guide the gloss finish. I'm going to choose gloss because all feel that it
just gives a bit more hard, hard wearing depends on the look and feel that
you want fewer book, but in this circumstance on increased choose called C. Now, we use the same manuscripts
that we used for our Piper back if it suits these dimensions
still so seven by ten, we'd simply go and grab the original hardcopy
manuscript which are gone. Grabbing a moment. Click Upload
hardcover manuscript, and I'll click on that one. We open that one, and that's our manuscript
already completed. Now the next bit, while these loads up, we're gonna be doing
Al-Qaeda creator. Sorry. We're going to upload
our own cover. If you wanted to use the KD
pKa, the creativity can, but I'm gonna show you
how to upload your own, so we would simply click that. But now this is where we
need to go and created. So what we need to do, I'm gonna, I'm gonna lay this
link in the description, but we need to use
a special cover calculated that KID have now provided, which
is fantastic. So our book is going
to be a pod Kevin. Interior top is going
to be black and white. Pipa top is gonna be what? Pij to integration we're
just going to do left to right measurement units. This is where we're doing
our inches interior trim. This is where we
have our options. Go, 12345, different options. We're choosing the seven button. The pitch camp of the
manuscript is 120 pages. We go calculate that. Now what we need to do is use these dimensions here
and here to create our, our dimensions for Canva. And then we're gonna
come back and we can get a download the template. So let me go to canva. We're going to do a custom size and we're
going to use those sizes. So remember we can
use Canva for free, then also purchase the premium subscription
model bias as well. We go back here, we use 16.034. So we go 6.034, make sure it's in inches. Just here. We did
it again, 16.034. Then we go to our hot, which is provided in the
Catholic calculator, 11.41711.417. Again, make sure you
do it in inches. We create a new cover design. A now gives us a template. Next thing we need
to do is go back to the cover calculator
and we need to download the template
that it provides. It will give us an
image that we can then place onto Canvas. It gives you this fall here, we will simply open up the file. We are looking for. This one just here. We're looking for
the pain GI fall. So we're going to
simply do this. We're going to open
up at Canva fall and then we can just get
it and we're going to drag it across uploads. If that doesn't work, I'll show you another way. Might not have worked. So I'm just going
to copy that file. And I'm gonna put it
in our original here. Just, just here. This one here we're
going to download. So we get the uploads,
upload a media. Choose this one here,
and we open it. Then what we do is just
click on this one. And then this will actually
put the cover on here force. What do we need to
do is we need to expand this the whole distance. And we want to make sure that when we putting
our own cover on, that, we're making sure that it doesn't go into that pink area. So what we do, we grab our initial,
initial images. So we got applied meteor again and we grab out to cover files. So we've got our front,
which we upload. Then we've got a backpack cover, which we need to upload as well. So I'll grab that one,
which is just here. So I backed cava. These are gaining seven bar tin. And we grab an image. And what we're aiming
to do is ensure that it actually covers this line, the black line here,
and we don't want any writing to be
inside that pink area. So what we do is just
stretch out cover. And we want to place it inside that is actually going
to be about there. We need to continue to work these image that actually
fits in the right place. So we just kept going
down like this. And we keep going
up a little bit. If you need to, you can zoom in to make sure it goes
in the right area. But what we do is simply
just move it to position. What am I do is
quickly just zoom and bring it over to that
pink line just there. That's it. Leaves we'll be diving,
but that's okay. This side as well. I'll just bring it
a little bit over. Then what we need to do is. Actually, what I'll do is I'm going to zoom this
up and I'm going to bring it across just there. Now what we need to do is
the sign for the other side. I'll bring this down
here like this. And what I'll do is
I'll phospholipids. Basically, I'm going
to bring the beach onto the same area. This white bit here is spawn. Just wanted to
make sure that you realize that we need to keep an area free for a bar code
as well before I continue. Now completed the back cover. So I've gone to the
black line all the way just a little bit past here. Now this is, as I mentioned,
the middle spine. So what we need to
do is get rid of that template and we
need to have the color. So I've just used the luck of what
I've done is done a copy of this just here. And I simply reduced it
to the size of these. And you can actually use
that Carla as I spawn, which I've done for
these bits here. That is the choice that you have if you want to do
it that way as well. But I would just bring it up to there and I'll
bring the speed. Just get rid of that. I'll bring this down to
this point rot there. Now I've got a similar
spoiling color to reach the book and then lock if it, if it covers. When the, when the hot
cup of wraps around, it's gonna be the sum blue
colleges TO then all I need to do is cited as a PDF. So I would go across
here, download. We would need to save it as a PDF file that we downloaded. And then we're going
to be brought to upload that to collide API. Now it comes time to upload. You'll cover file. So I'll upload the cover that we've
just created on Canva, which is this one here. Click on that one,
and I'll pause it. Wallet uploads. Now that the cover has uploaded successfully
along with the manuscript, we then go to our launch
preview or inside. The main thing we're looking
for here is to ensure that our writing doesn't At
saw that red box here. We've lifted enough
spice for the barcode. And we've also, we can say our middle strip
here for the spawn. And importantly, the quality chick doesn't
bring up any issues. And so all it all
seems to be fine. You is an issue. It will flag right here. And we would then go through and just make sure that
everything's fallen in solid. And so that's just a
composition notebook. Nothing special inside. So we don't have to
worry about that. We will approve it. And it brings us back
to this page just here. Now, what you want to Just
check is the printing cost. It can be quite expensive. $6.94 for lined notebook, a teen hard cover. So you just get a seven button. So you just got to keep in mind the cost of
that that's gonna have for you when you're
doing your processing model. And we'll have a look at what
the processing needs to be. We want to allow all
territories will wide. We're probably marketplace
is gonna be.com. Now we have a minimum of 1157. So if we went for 1499, Let's have a look
and see what are costs would base our
royalties bet $2, which is probably that rot
for composition notebook, that's probably an ion. But these quality expensive
and you can say the cost that hardback is going
to be for the customer. So we would then just adjust any other process that you would want to do
and change it up. Remember, these
are the countries where hardback is available.com, UK, in Germany, in France, Spain, and Italy as well. So day the markets and survival, we would then simply
publish the hardcover book. And then if there's any issues, tidy p, We'll come
back to this as well.
16. Lesson 12 - How to Outsource Your Cover Design: Welcome to the next lecture, a back cover creation
and what you can do if you have
limited design skills and what the options are
for you to consider in regards to absolute and what I've personally
used in the past. I've used a couple
of different groups. One has been father and the other one is
been Freelancer.com. Let me show you farther. That's probably my
preferred method. Let me show you what
you should look for in regards to add sauce at
sourcing your cover design. This is the width sought
for Fatah, spelled w.com. And I'm going to show
you what we need to do. Under the under the
search bar here. I would normally choose
a KID. Kevin design. And this will take us
to everything we need. We just need to get
rid of all this. And it will bring up a number of different options
that we can, that we can look at
and choose from. And the things
we're looking here for covers it really
stand out to you. There are many that might
be more high content books, like these ones just here. But what we're looking for, someone that has more of an expertise in the
lower content books. If you did cover design, maybe it wouldn't bring
up exactly what you need. So you scroll through. And
if you wanted to do KP, content, cover
design, the net mooc, bring up something
else that will help. You have a look through here. And you can do
filters, BAD budget. So you can do a budget. Let's just say this is an
Australian dollar bottom line, you can do a budget
of $20 ostream, which is around
about 15, $16 US. We scroll down here
and we have a bit of a look and see if there's
anything that stands out. If they is something
that stands out for you, then simply click on it and
go and have a bit of a look. What I'd be doing is just having looked
through the covers, are there any pop out to me this interior designs
that you can do as well. So if you're not sure about
the interior design element, then do that, just make sure
that they are regional. Let's have a look
further down here. Let's go for Let's go. I just want to try and find one that's gonna
stand out for me. Let's have a look
at this one here. We have a look at these covers. And we find out
about the cell up. They've got a very, very
good writing there, what they call
level to sell them. So they've been doing
it for quite a while. And up here you've got
the different options. So basic one there, a standard which includes a three-day mockup
and commercial use, make sure that you've got
commercial use available. This one also has
commercial use and premium will give you a
different revisions as well. So six cover designs
and 3D mock-ups, they suddenly gives you one. So you scroll down, have a bit of a look and see what information
I'll provide you. What information will get. Also, have a look at
the background as well. So I like to look
through all of this. This gives you a comparison
table of what's included. And it will also show you different designs that
I've done as well. If we scroll back up here, we can have a look and
say that one there. That one's a bit bicyclic. That was very basic. If there's anything that
really stands out to you with the person that sound
creates a very standard. I'm not sure whether I would
pick this person or not. I'd probably be looking at a
few other options as well. What we do, we click here, we go back out again and we keep scrolling down and
having a bit of a look, see if we can find
anything that stands out. Let's skip to page five, will give someone a page
fault that mountain and have much attention before. Let's scroll down to
the Cape having a look. And I would probably go
for, let me have a look. Let's have a look at
this one just here. Recently just started this
week for payroll five reviews. Sometimes these people that haven't had a lot
of work are really, really came to do such
an amazing job for you. So always consider the people that haven't got
a lot of reviews, but the good reviews, we have a look through. These person obviously goes to a lot of attention to data. In regards to these excellent in the wildlife,
put it all together. So all would definitely can
see that these person here, Let's have look standard. And that's the information that includes 26
high-quality content. So the activity workbook
information as well. So you can have a
look through and see all the information
that they providing. That includes the custom theme. Puzzles Mises would
search and have a bit of a look through
all the information here about what
their background is. And also the reviews
are important as well. And that will help you. So this person would
do cover design and it looks like
they also do a lot of interiors as well, which could really be suitable for you if
you weren't sure. But remember, a lot
of this information. Look, suddenly see
information here. This is okay. But remember when
you're doing your KID pay that a lot of the times you'll be
doing black and want. So don't get distracted
by all the colors. Think what it's gonna be
locking black and white as well. That said information. What I'll do, I'll
provide the link to this person as well
in the description. So if this is someone that
you'd like to work with, he can use his person. But let's go back and have
a look at one more look at what we can fall in
regards to cover design. As I said, what we really, our attention is to find covers that really
stand out for you. I mean, these kind of
covers more standard out to these ones are a
little bit basic, but if you're doing
a dot mark a book, this person could
be perfect for you. It's a matter of just
scrolling through and having a look at the different designs
that might stand out. So these ones, these
might be pretty good. So this is caddy
people cover design, LoadContent books and you can actually have a look and
see the different designs. So there's some noss designed designs these persons
doing as well. And dice stand out. So $7 a strain, so it's about $4 American. $21 might short commercial
use as well and premium. So different cover designs. This is information here. And scroll down and
you can actually get sudden nothing is any reviews on this one
at this point in time. That hasn't been reviews. But you never know
for for thawed those US or $7 Australian might be worthwhile giving
this person and go. It's your choice, but there's options available for you to look through what you can
use for father as well. So that is a bit of a summary of Fatah remained that just use a few different searches
here and find an author, sorry, fun to design at
that resonates with you. That has potentially some
good five-star reviews. And we can make sure
yet commercial use. And when you're doing an order, if we were to say
do the order here, we just go through, we continue and then we provide the
source information. So the information that you want in regards
to your designs, very, very easy to organize all the information in regards to getting it done. And it's usually turned around. The Kaaba is usually turned around within a couple
of days maximum. So that's that's all you
need to know about father. I'll also leave the link in the bonus lesson of this
course two for you.
17. Cover Design Masterclass: Welcome to the lesson. What I wanted to do
is provide you with a quick uptight in regards
to book cover design. From the feedback of being
getting from the course, I wanted to create a specific course around
book cover design and create stand at book covers for Amazon card API and
other online platforms. Now the course goes into
depth in regards to the different elements
that you need to consider in regards
to book cover design. And I'll show you step-by-step through that process
using Canva. If that's of interest, then please just check out the links below in this lesson. But what I'll do
is I'll show you a quick look at the contents of the course because
it might be of interest to you once you've
finished this course. So check that out later. We looking at the
critical elements. There are critical elements for your book cover design
that you need to consider. Nice book covers don't include these key elements
that will help them to get the attention and
the eye of the customer. So I will identify those
four key critical elements. So then when we do go through the book cover creation process, you can see that on applying that information and that
knowledge to the book covers. The second is the
book formatting. And I struggle with
this a lot when always first learning
is how can we actually formatted correctly and get
the raw measurements so that the system or platform like
ADP will accept their books. And there are some
tools that we can use that are free and it's not a paid tool that you can also use that might be
able to help you as well. Number three is the
book cover design. And this will be the real, the solid part of this course
that will teach you many, many elements, the book
cover design process. And you be able to
then go back and apply that information
with your own designs. We'll be using Canva. You can have Canva for free or you can have a paid
version of Canva as well. But we'll look into that too. Then. Faunal proof. What do I mean by that? Well, it's getting the book
cover ready for print. So we'll hit the front
cover and back cover. And we wanted to see the price is that we go through
to get the cover, the format that we can actually
use to upload now Guy, and this was an area
that I struggled with. When I first started. I had a number of rejections
back from Amazon. Kodak paid the same. A book cover wasn't adequate, well suitable for submission. I want to teach you the
right method there. And then finally,
I'm showing you some book mock-up methods that you can use
for your marketing. Because when you do
create your books, it's gonna be as important to
market your books as well. Now, I do have
another full course, a bad Amazon kVp low and
no content publishing. So that might be
something you're interested in after this course. But firstly, we want to
focus on a cover design. Let's get that kava
design rot because yes, people do judge a
book by its cover.
18. Lesson 13 - Creating Your Book Interiors: Welcome to the next module. This one is part of their KID pay publishing is
about creating interiors. And the interior will, it can range anywhere from 25
pages to 400 pages or more. So you've just got to decide on what sort of interior
you're creating. Now if we're creating a low
content or no contempt book, then the pages are
probably gonna be anywhere between 50 and
maybe a 150 pages. But as part of our interior, I'm going to show you two sorts. I'm going to show
you how to quickly create a node content interior. And then I'll look
at how to create a free low content interior and then one Hale and without
you having to create it. And then another way that
you can create yourself. Let's get into that right now. How do we create
interiors for no content, interiors like content and the considerations when
creating your interiors. So what we need to do is understand the formatting
side of things to begin with. And I'm gonna show
you a free tool that you can create your
no content interiors. Just, just say
we're doing out at Dinosaur composition
notebook for children. And we just want
some lined pages. Let me show you how you can get those nice and quickly and for free. Book bolt. Now, if you just went
to book bolt.io, you couldn't go
without having to sign up or penny subscriptions. You can just go to this research
resources tab rod here. Way going to go to
interior wizard, narrow interior wizard provides a number of different
You just got here a number of different interiors that you can download for free
noss and quickly. If we wanted just
aligned journal, then you can get scroll down
and we can do wide rude. You can get a dotted line. This dotted graph paper. Lots of different sources and different ways that
we can actually do his handwriting paper. Plenty of choices you can, there's a members only
sections as well. You can scroll down
and have a look and also obviously gives us why is it we can do log books or low content interiors
at the same time. If we would go back
up to the top, we will do just to a journal, like a composition journal, we might choose, Let's
choose this one just here. If we chose that one,
we would choose. We can do blade
or noted blade is when those lines would go
all the way to the end. Now blade is when it would stop. So let's just do bleed. We've got to remember these swimlane loading at book up to kVp to choose the
Bleed Option though, we will then select the
number of the size. We're gonna do our
IPE 0.5 by 11. So we get down here,
the page count. We chose 120 pages. When we're doing
our cover design. We choose those elements. We would then go download. This will then bring up our interior ready to
upload straight to get API. Now you may decide that this interior isn't
quite what you want. It might be a different sort
of interior that you wanted. So you can go back. And you might think, well, I'm not do this
sort of journals. So you can, again, you can click on that one. You can download. It might show you
choosing the right size. And then a 120 pages. Show you guys on there again. 120 pages and we download. And then nice again would
download exactly what when aid. So that is one option
you can choose. All you do is click that
button there and that would download your
composition notebook. So let's do that now. So we click on that. And you can see how it's
his journal I 0.5 by 11 With Bleed a 120 pages within say that we might want
to call it manuscript. Remember, what are these? So don't get confused
within sight of that. And that is really forced
to load up two kVp. Now That's one option for you. If you did want to
do another interior, then you can go back to Canva. You do your eye 0.5. We've already got it here. I 0.5 by 11. And you can actually choose to create your own and then
multiply those pages out. You can go to get the elements. We might just have lawns or
remotely even writing lines. I think we could choose
that one on either. Choose that one I'll
farm on quickly. Carry out, found it. I just didn't rotting lines. And so you just click on that. And then you can expand
it to weigh want. If this is the size of lawn, you want as well. And then you can position
it center and middle. That's another way of being
able to create our interiors. Now if you wanted
to multiply that, you go that little button there. You can just simply duplicate, hold down Control
and then duplicate. It can just keep duplicating
the number of pages that you want and that will create
your interior as well. And then all we do is go download and you
go to PDF and you click on PDF and then you would download all of your
pages and that might be, you know, a 100 pages link. The limit on Canva is 100 pages, so that's your only limitation. The other option would be that
you can just do one page. For example, let's delete, save your one-page as a PDF, and then he can go to a platform
to multiply your pages, have Adobe PDF, and you can just multiply
your pages as well. So that's another option you can do in regards to know content, lines and things like that. So let's go back
out of here again. Let's get rid of this and
just say you wanted to create a low content book, won't. All you'd need to do is start creating all of your
elements on here again, if you had something that
you wanted to create labia, a later tracing book,
then, for example. And it was an interior. You might have, let's just
say rotting lines again. We need to go to elements
salary and we'd go to that one. Credit what these,
and you can create your lines at this
position, middle. And just say it was a learned
to write book, for example, we create whatever
you want to just make sure you don't have
it too close to the edges. We don't want our words going over it
because Amazon don't like that when you're
uploading your book. And then what we would do, we'd go to text
and you might have a text that you like to use. For example, or no or down a
worldwide one of the past. You can even not be
cursive handwriting. For example, you might have letters that you can do for your
cursive handwriting. This you might have. You do your letters for example. And then you can
make them nice and big that you can have across
our kids could learn to try. Or you might have
another way of doing it. So you might have another text. Let's do that one again. We might have the myopia
print a dashed for example. Again, you might have
go back and you do, whoops, like that. And you can then create
your try seeing book. You can have different let us The kids can actually
trace over as well. So you can just keep
creating and adding pages. You can create the interior as they open up in
my I have denied. Might have nice
little illustrations. For example, if you had just, I was at a book
for a grandparent, you might have floral. And then you can use different
elements as you want to on the pages and become really creative with
what you want to do. It's up to you with
how creative you are. Remain by Canada, have
a 100 page limit when you keep adding the pages or when you're multiplying them. So just keep that in mind when
you're creating the books. Or it can use book bolt to
create those free interiors. Now when you do this, always remember to create this page the same size
as your cover size. So these ones I 0.5 by 11. And then when you download it, make sure you download
as a PDF document, not a PNG or PDF document. And then you stick to the pages that you did when
you create your cover. So it was a 120 pages when
you created your cut up. Then you need to make sure
you stick to that as well. That's how you do
your interiors. And it's a great way to be
able to create them for free. You can use the book
bolt interior generator. And if you wanted to, you can sign in and do your subscription and
get all these other ones. Or you might be flicking
through here and think, not sore at saving truck or savings tracker
that are myopia to use. Well, I'll not create that
to be a seven by ten. And then you do a 100, not be IT pages. You do 80 pages. And you can choose
blade or no bleed. You download. And then if
you get your interior for your low content journal
or tracker or logbook, whatever it might be, a narrow it is and
that's all free. You can use it straight
from book bolt. That's another
suggestion for you in regards to interior
and the creation. Just to finish with
this interior lesson, the considerations ensure that it's suitable for the customer and that you're providing enough pages that you can
see the size of the book. So if you go on to Amazon and you checking
out competitors, look at what size the book is. Doing. A seven by
nine and I 0.5 by 11. Jesus, I'll give you a quick
little look at what I mean. If we were to look at
these books just here. Let's look at this one here,
predatory journal for Teams. We can hover over
the book and we can see down here dimensions. It's a five by eight, which is very, very small book. Or it can go this one That's lots of fire
by night as well. These ones are 6.9. This one here, 6.9. So you get to see most of
these books are six by nine. And how are they selling? I E3, 10923 thousand. They're selling
well at that size. And even this one, what you can do is go
inside and have a look. It's got 70 writings. You can have a look inside and see what the internals are like. A scroll down. You can see if it's
something that would be nice and easy to create. Little bit of
information in there. Let's have a look.
They've just done quotes and things
of that nature, things you can create as well. I've given you a nasty
looking saw that book and what it's actually
like a 12 pages. You can see through it. You can actually scroll
down as well that down what they call a plus content, which shows you a bit
more information. And it's a five by 150 pages and it's being
righted pretty well. This is the information
that it will provide you. That's all the
details about that. And also you can see the price, some hyping that helps
you with the interior and looking for what you need
to when you're doing all the creation for today, payload content and non-content.
19. Lesson 14 - Creating Your Book Description: Welcome to our next
section on Friday, pay low and no content tutorial. This tutorial or this, sorry, this module will be about
book descriptions and the importance of book
descriptions because the customer might
love your cover. But when they click on your cover and I go
to your description, that will be one of the key elements that
will draw them in. To think that's the book on a, that's the book I wanted
to purchase to die. And your book description needs to be formatted correctly. What does a good
book description particularly look like for
low or night content book? Well, the k tips. Before we have a
look on Amazon keda, the k tips must be
that it could be gold, has to be grandma free. If your book has
grammatical errors, the customers likely
to think that that's the kind of quality
your book will be. Ensure it is grammar fee free, and make sure that
you run it through a program locked grammarly.com. That is that you can have a free version or a paid
version of grammarly.com. And that will just
check for spelling errors and grammatical
structures of your, of your sentence or description. Include a strong hitting. Also include key
product features of the book, and
it's well-formatted. I'm gonna show you a free
formatting tool to use via an online site
called can-opener. I will show you
that in a moment. So let's have a look firstly at what a good book description Mark Luke lock
and the key elements. I just picked this book out
and it is a bestseller. The description must be capturing the attention
of those radians. Let's look at the headline. I, you're looking for fun workbook to help you
take your child rot, the newer in the right place, take a child or an
exciting journey through the entire a bay say, and all the numbers from
0 to 30 with letter and number tracing
book for kids age three to five, a
fun practice book. You can read the
rest. Then they go into information about the book. The Nicholas subheading
here about letters. Another subheading
here about numbers, letters and the numbers. Then they go into important
features that will dock points or a quick look at the most important
facts of the book. Download that. Then they've got another
big section here about get this book now covers everything that a customer
might want because anything, look that looks pretty good. Die then go look inside feature. I scroll down and I say
it's got some nice things. It nice and easy to create. And people can easily say that child rotting in this book. And it gives you examples of what the back it
looks like as well. They are the things you need to work on hard for
your description. Now if we were to
just want to show you what how you
could format this. If you would just have a a
Word document version of this, let me put it on
a Word document. Get rid of all these
formatting and I'll show you how we can
actually format it. Just put it on a Word document. Let's copy this whole thing. Let's go and just do normal. Let's reduce everything
here, including the size. Let's make it all that. Let's get rid of all the bold. Let's make sure it's locked that if you
had just written this up and you thinking, how can I get it to be looking? Lock this. So they
actually got the big bold and the dot points
because you can't necessarily just
place them on there. Two different options. If we were to grab this, we could go straight to when you're learning
your book up to Katie pay does give you
a basic feature to be able to add
these elements. But there's another one that
I'll show you right now. It's on a SWOT code, Kindle pronounce.com
and you just go to the section in regards to
book description generator. Now it will give me an error
message to start with, which I always get. Let's get rid of this. And it'll come up in
my default back again. But if we wanted to
make that a bit bolder, we can make it bold or
we can add a heading. And if we scroll down, we can make that bold as well. We can scroll down and
make that bold as well. Then if we wanted these, so that might be italic or bold. Then if we go down here, we can do this. You can go down and
be further, sorry. We can make these
into dock points. Points. And you might want to capitalize something or we want to
make that bold as well. So we scroll up. Then what we would do
is we will generate the code that gives
us an HTML code. And now you could put that, if you did that all that. And you just want
to put it sorry. If you want to put that
in the speed just here, then what we're
gonna do, We just want to see what this
actually looks like. So I'll take you to one
other sort of show you. Could, I blurb. And so I would put that in the code that we
just had and then it will bring it up
to what we wanted. Now, if you wanted to, you could make this number three to make a
little bit bigger, or a number two, and it makes it even a
little bit bigger. Again, that is a great way. Abandoned create the HTML code and be able to see exactly
what it looks like. So then we would simply copy that because we know
what it looks like. We would delete that one and we would have
that ready to go. So when we load that
book to Amazon, we have got the
information ready to go. The most important things
to make sure it stands out. So if we were to scroll down and we would have a look
at this book just here. Let's just see the Kaaba
doesn't really stand at. It's ranked very high, doesn't have any
customer reviews. Auto-immune stood at
$6.99 rather than seven. It was released the inside. If we go down, look sockets, goal, most copied, one
that we've just done. So be very, very careful
not to do that yourself. That isn't the y that you should be creating
original ones as well. If we were to go to
this one just here, Let's have a look at
this and say whether, say this one is the
example where digest haven't put enough effort
into the description. I've done it all just in
bold is no dot points. And there's no styles. There's one, probably
one or two styles. There's no customer reviews. And that's a perfect example of not really making a
description stand out. They may initially lot
that kappa potentially, but they didn't do much if
it with the description, which means that they've gone to the effort of creating a book, but they're not really selling it from the description
point of view. That is an important element. Get the cabaret, give the
description rot, a name. You want them to click bond out. And that is the main thing
about your description and ensuring that you might get grammatical free and
that you're using the different elements
to make it formatted. So it looks really
nice and professional. I'll hope you liked
that information about about descriptions and had a format and then
create them correctly.
20. Using an AI Book Description Generator for FREE: Wanted to provide this
updated lesson regarding the development of
book descriptions and using a generator. And also I to help
you with that, If you go to Kind Preneur.com for Amazon book
description generator, then that will get you to this page where you could
plug in your description. Let's just do one
now. Let me just go. Okay. Then what you can do is once you finish
your description, click here to see if
I can improve it. This is just a example
for a camping journal. I've done all that
information there all set up. You can do your book
description for Amazon. You can choose
editorial view reviews. You can set up your font sizes. If you want to
change this to here, we just go here and we can
change that around to H four. You might want to bold it up. You've got all these features you can do on the side here, number list and bullet list. However, let's see
what I can do. We go to non fiction. This is now changing it. The AI is crafting
a book description. Let's just wait for
that to come up. You can see it's starting to generate on the left
hand side here. Let's see what it comes up with. It is waiting patiently, nearly loaded, And here we are. This will now give me an
AI generated opportunity to see if this is better than
the one I created myself. Then it gives you the
information there. And what you can do is
go back to formatting. You can actually use this
one if you wanted to. There's a great option for
you if you wanted to use this tool to help I technology to create
your description. Hopefully that helps.
Please go on, check it out. It's all for free
through kind preneur.
21. Lesson 15 - How to Upload the 7 Backend keywords: Welcome to this module. This one is all about
the seven keywords. And what are the seven
keywords were talking about? Well, seven key words
is a section of the upload process
that we need to include when we're doing
our upload process. Let me show you what
that looks like. When you uploading
your your book, your paper back by a download content or
a no content book. And I'll show you these
during the upload process, but we do the book
title and subtitle. And we do other details here. We do the description which
we just went through before. Then it gets down to this
section here, seven keywords. Naked choose a
perceiving keywords that describe your book. It says optional, but it's
important that you include the saving keywords and dire words that could
relate to your book. Just say it was a
gratitude journal. And you might have, you might, one might be a gratitude journal for kids. Then you might have gratitude just brought girl while
girls are dated incorrectly. You might have gratitude, boy, you need to start to
think of what you haven't been out occlude in your
title or in your subtitle. And then you can include it
in these seven boxes here. And it just gives you in extra keywords that you can
enter so that your book becomes more relevant for that particular nature area that you're hoping to
rank your booking. Let's go back to the
presentation and I'm going to go through
a few extra tips, but I just wanted to show
you what section we're actually what's in reference to when I'm talking
about this module. The main tips that all would
do about how to include the seven keywords for caddy
pay when uploading a book would be use relevant keywords. Don't include words that are not relevant to your niche or your book or any word that you're I'm not trying
to rank for you. Absolutely, absolutely need to include words with
your hope people would be searching for or your book would like
to be ranked for. Use keywords you couldn't include in your title
or your subtitle. And that can be again, part of your niche
research spreadsheet. We are using those words, but don't overthink the seven keywords
years they're relevant, but don't put so much emphasis on them that you get analysis, paralysis and you're not
out to think of any. It is just an extra
section which can help. It's not going to have
a huge importance overall because it's more
your title and subtitle. But KD pay duty that extra
opportunity for you to include the keywords that will enable your book to rank
in the right area. There, the seven
keywords for KD, Pete and the tips. Be careful that you make sure you keep them
relevant because you don't want your book ranking for
something else because that's a waste of time and if it
make sure they're relevant, dynode think them and
use the words or phrases and things that you couldn't include in your title
or your subtitle.
22. Lesson 16 - Choosing the Correct Book Categories: Welcome to this module, a bad categories and
ensuring that you putting your book in the
right categories and also how to find
the right categories. Your book will be searchable
by customers on Amazon. And as we looked at the very
beginning, there are many, many different categories
and subcategories that allow us to be able to put up book into
the right place. However, if you put your
book in the wrong place, you might not get sane. Or if you deliberately do it, there's a chance
that you could have your cat suspended by Amazon, but putting it in an irrelevant
category deliberately, That's just a bit of
a warning it back categories might show you put them in the right categories. There's a few different
tools that we use. But let me show you
where we actually choose these section when
we're uploading our book. So you know what it's
in reference to. This is the page brought
under our keywords. We've got choose Categories. Now when we choose
this, we have to, that we can choose from. So it says you have two breaths categories
that you can choose. Monophonic can be hard. If we were doing say, literate tracing book or
an alphabet tracing book, it will be actually
quite hard to find where it would
be under all of this. So you wouldn't know
where to start. But there is a y
that we can actually try and find a wife for free, that you can search
for those categories. So let me show you where
that is right now. Might be a few
different platforms that allow you to do this. But because we've used
book bulb before, I thought I'd just
show you the way you just get a resources again. Free to do this ego KD, P category. Find out. Then what you need to do
is put some keywords in this end keywords
I've looked over in IVR wall, but let's
just have a look. Just say, wasn't sure bad thing handwriting
at modern urbane. Learn to rot, might not come up. We think we need to try and find something.
So we do search. And you look through
here language. Anything like hieratic. This is a kid's book. If it's a, learned to
write a book for kids, then we start to say, Okay, it is juvenile
Language Arts Journal rotting essays and writing. There's a few different ones
we can start doing there. Then we think, okay, is it to do with the alphabet? Just saw it come up in alphabet. We do a search. There, we have something we can include
all these one as well. So juvenile nonfiction
concepts, alphabet, what we would do when we're
doing an applied process, juvenile nonfiction
and concepts. Juvenile nonfiction. And we go down two concepts,
which is down here. And then we take alphabet. Then if we wanted to find
another one, go back here. And we could do a few
different searches. And it could be one on literature rising night. If we did that handwriting,
go up to date. And we just go search. There is something we could do, maybe this one here,
this one here. Non juvenile nonfiction
Language Arts. We are back. Juvenile nonfiction
language arts. He's Language Arts. We go down to handwriting. And then we go Save. Then we got out to, in there. Now you can choose
different categories. And in fact, you can actually add an extra
six categories. But we'll talk about
that more in a moment. But let me show you some irrelevant categories that people put their books under. And you just have to
be very, very careful. If all of those just to talk a uniform unicorn coloring book, then I'm sure there
are sections here. Now this one, I believe
he's that's fun. Children's travel guidebooks. Yeah. Activity books,
children's drawing books. That's perfectly fine. Let's hover over a
couple of the others. That's this one here. A sports isn't a
category for that. Let's have look down further. That could be a rot. Rot. Yes. They're all pretty good. Yeah, that's fine. That's okay. It looks like they might have cracked
down on a little bit more now because
previously the here we go prints out or don't think. So. New New Haven,
Connecticut travel books. There's one that is absolutely
not in the right category. And I tried to get that
number one bestseller rank. Bob Bain in the wrong category. And so this person risks getting their accounts suspended
by doing that. They just gonna be very, very careful of
what they're doing. They've done one, they
more likely you've done a few more. So
let's have a look. If we go to this one. This one's in feta
regional architecture. This one here is in colder
climates, gardening. These ones here in
mining and oil painting. This one's here in
Buddhist fiction. So that's an example of just
making sure that you've run the risk of accounts being suspended or
terminated by doing that. So just be very, very
careful with that. Let's look at the
categories of Akkad paying the key tips that I would give you when loading your book. You can choose two categories
when uploading the book, but she can actually
include an additional six by contacting KD pay. Then I'm Mike that all of these. But if you wanted to, you can contact cut I tied
a P customer service. And you can actually ask them to add a further six categories. And it's a worthwhile doing as long as the
categories are relevant. And that goes into point number to ensure your
categories irrelevant to your book and use book bolt to help with
category selection. And it said free process
that you can use. But if you wanted to add those extra categories,
this is what you do. You would go to help
continue with that saving. And then you go down here, you've got the Contact Us. Be Amazon, this page here. And then uptight
Amazon categories. You include your your JSON, which is your identification
number, for example, if we go out of here and we'll look so the ice and
number is this number just TO YOU include that
number on the on the communication
degrees categories to be added and the
categories to be removed. But you need to make sure
you list the whole length of that category as well so
that they actually know. So it actually
should have books, then juvenile nonfiction,
language arts, handwriting so that the
customer service needs to know exactly the category and
whether it's on the books, on Kindle, whatever it might be, they need to know exactly
what they call the string. That you can actually, you can put those extra
categories in. That's another thing for you to remember that might be
able to help you out in regards to the categories
and putting them in when you're creating your
low or no content book.
23. Lesson 17 - How to Upload Your Book to KDP: Welcome to the next module, which I'm excited to do, which is the ADP upload, which is the mark of the process where you get really
excited because he actually bringing together
everything created. Two then finally
uploaded to Amazon. So let's go through
that process. So when we go to our dashboard, this is what we're gonna say. We're gonna have the paperback. And you can do
hardcover as an option. But we're gonna be doing
a pipe, a back sight. I'm going to get onto
my dashboard and we're going to go through
the full process. And we're going to use that
dinosaur composition notebook that are created earlier
in one of the modules. And let's go through the full
process of what I would do. But before I would stop the applied price
HISAT get everything organized and what domain is creating a Word document
with all the details. So let me show you what
I have prepared before. Upload any book to kVp or
create a Word document. It has the title, it has a subtitle, has a description
which are then have converted inch to that HTML
code using Keynote foreigner. They don't have my
seven keywords that I've already created and
research and looked through. And I've already found
the two categories. These just really helps
when we uploading the book. And we can just easily copy this information and put it into the cardiac
pay applied prices. So let me go through the
upload process right now. So as I mentioned,
the first thing we need to do is to sign into our kVp dashboard and we
simply click on paper bag. This will then
take us through to the dashboard with three
sections we need to complete. And it is an OS easy
process to follow. Depending on what
language you're books in. We're going to be choosing
English, the bookies, composition, notebook,
and a subtotal. So if we go between these, we just copy that and bring it into a
section that's where, I mean, it's nice and easy. The series, if it's a
series of different books, then you add that otherwise you slayed the edition number again are generally just lay that the author name now
you can create. What if that author, if you have a certain brand
that you want to create, then you can do that. You can put your own name
and details on there. You can have a brand nine. You can call it something that might be specific
to that area. Just make sure you're
not doing anything which is going to infringe on any trademarks or
anything like that. So let me just come up
with a quick nine so we can just call it modern. Modern Donna. Modern
Donna designs. Let's just call them. Then we go down further. Remember I like, once you
start creating a brand, then it's good tag consistency. You don't want to have always
different alternatives. It's rather it's
better just to have the one main author nine. So you could do whatever
you like with that section. Contributors. So if you
have an illustrator or someone else that was
part of the book creation, you'd edit details
here, the description. So you can use the formatting
tidy p now provide, or you can use the one that
you created from can-opener, which we're going to
use in this module. At that. Then I go down, do I find the
publishing rights in the copyright and
hold initiative necessarily publishing rights? Yes. When it says this
is a public domain work, it means that you They might be something online
that you've found a book or contents that's
freely available online, then that all would never suggest you do
that kind of book. Just make it all your own, and therefore you have
all the copyright and necessary publishing
rights, the keywords. So I will now add
these keywords in. I'd go through and simply add those keywords that
are relevant for my book. And you add the seven. Now you don't have to
add seven keywords. You can add three or four. But given that you've
got seven spaces, you might as well add
those keywords in. Because every keyword
hopefully will help you book ranked beta on the KDE platform. So I'm not sure, I'm pretty sure doing Here we go.
Two more to go. I don't have to make
sense the keywords, they can be different
combinations of words. So I always just like to have a few different
variations of it. A category. So let's
have a look here. We've got juvenile nonfiction
animals, dinosaurs. We go here. We got to remember
juvenile non-fiction. We got animals and we got
it down to dinosaurs. And then the next one was language arts
composition and creative. We go down, further down, Language Arts, composition
and credit routing. We save it. So now we've
got our two categories. Does this book contain language inappropriate children
and underwriting is definitely not. Continue. Then we go
onto the next step, which is the ISBN. So each book has an identification number
and pay off you a free one. You can go and buy
your own ISBN. And if you bought them in bulk, that's about $5 per
ISBN for about a 100. But if you buy
them individually, it can be anywhere
up to about $70. So if you're new decay they pay or you don't
have a magic brand, then definitely just
use the free ISBN. So it can only be used with ADP, can't use it on any
other platform. Just leave the
publication date is being law of as soon as
Amazon approve it, we're now using the black
and white with what PIPA, we lay that you can choose
different options and it gives you the color variations
with leaving it there. Now we get to choose the
different loop Syria. We get to choose the
different sizes. Now, you can set up
your own trim size, but use a standard
saws if you can. This is the most
popular way using these quantities here for
the book that we created. Now, remember when
we did the book bolt download for the
manuscript, we use blade. So it taking that one. You can use knife blade
depending on what you're doing. I always like to use for
books that are used a lot, a lot to use gloss. Just because it's more durable. Matt has a really
nice finish to it, but it can leave
fingerprints and things. So if you're using a
composition notebook for kids, I would use gloss. The manuscript. This
is where we need to upload our manuscripts that
we were saving before. I click up applied. And this is where our files are. So we've got our eye 0.520
pij blade manuscript. So open that one and
white for a little bit. Then it will say it's
processing f, all these fun. Now you can already
use cover creator, which is a kinase that you can actually create a
cover with KHP. I choose upload a cover. That's the one we
might have in Canada and our prefer the
process of Canva. Canva, it just has
an author field, it's much easier to create and has a really good
professional look. We applied our cover and
remember it is in a PDF format. We open that up and it
can take a little bit of time for these
process to upload. And you'll see in a moment
that it's size successful. However, and it
says Launch previa, but white until these price
falls being processed. And you actually can see
your cover a p here. If you click Launch
preview too early, it can take much longer. So just be patient and
white fee capital P here. And it will say that it's been successfully allow
you to adjust here. I will just pause the
video until that appears. Inside. The book cover has
now been created force. And we just scroll down further and we can launch app preview. Now this will give
us an indication of the book and making sure it complies with what
Amazon required. Now on the side here, it doesn't quality check. If you have areas, it will say there
are areas here. Now as you can see, there's
a red line that runs around. It's very, very close. That yellow border that I mentioned during the
setup process that you need to make sure that you keep your writing inside those lines, anything like name, all these sort of things
and it'd be near the illustrations of fine
that I can be at sought. And that's part of
the bleed process and making sure that that's
inside there as well. So I would check for any
spelling or things like that. Got the right size, raw pages nine goes there. It's gonna be hard for
childhood is realized to create the nine on with a
dark color just yet. That's something you
could potentially think about and whether you
need to change it or not. It's something that I have
just thought about now. And one I would
probably do is go back and adjust the color
so that we can do it here. So I'll not very
quickly do that so that we've got a color
that works better. Or I might even have
a watt spice here, so kids can write the nine. So let me just quickly do that because I've
done approve it. I'm going to exit and I'm gonna go and fix it and
then come back. So I've re-upload it. The new cover and it's ready
to launch preview again. And I just need to check to make sure that
everything is okay. Guys, through the process
of showing you any fault. So it's done this quality check, the new Kaaba, the
adjusted cover up. I just added this section down here so a child
could add the nine, just a little bit of a
background of dinosaurs. And then you go through
the manuscript to make sure that
everything is okay. And this is just a
no content journal. So there's nothing really
on need to be worried about is I go through
it and you yet. And if you wanted to
write at the end, you can always add brought
at the back page in an ad, information about the author. But this is just a quick
tutorial that had to do the upload
process we approve. And then just wait for it to go through to the next section, which is negative b
about the processing. So we go down, this
is the printing cost. So it's going to cost totals 29 for the book to be printed, for the size, for the
length of the book. You need to consider that
As we go to the pricing, it will factor that in. Let's have a look at
the next section. Now. Do we want to have it go across all states and territories? Yes, We might as well
distributed globally. We don't want to exclude any. So we could have give
it every opportunity. The primary marketplace. You can choose
wherever you want to. Depending on where
on marketing it mostly I'll just
leave it at.com. Now, this is where it
says the minimum price. We need to list the four and the maximum was certainly not gonna be going
anyway the day. So for a book like this, Let's just do $6.99. In fact, is in the
printing cost. The right to the
author or the creative 60% provides me with a
royalty of a dollar. Naughty, expanded distribution. You can tick this box if you want your
book to be extended, expanded further beyond Amazon to bookstores and
things like that. So if you'd like to, you're welcome to
tick that and you'd get a $1.50 royalty. And then this will convert it to the different countries
and the conversion rates. So you can change this
again. You would get a dose. You might want to do
that at 599 pound. And then the sign here, you might want to bring
that back to 599. Probably he's better than $6. I would go through the
process of just doing this. Takes a little bit
of fiddling around. Go through here. We follow those 99
display, the Japanese yen. In Canada. I probably go for
It's to those 16. You can probably
among the 799 well, that one strike you need to allow for
what they called GST. And so that's gonna
be the final process. We probably want that under $10. So if we go to 99, that will bring it to
so we could probably go 97 or another item.
That's where it is. Okay, So we're gonna see
non-metals, non anon. It's only 70 census
drying, but that's okay. Stride is not a big market. So once we've said our process, we then go down and
we publish a book. Once we publish, then it goes to Amazon and
expect to hear back from them in a roughly
three to seven business days. And then when you get that
notification on your email, then it will be approved. What they do now is they
check for details to make sure it meets all of the guidelines and it
can take up to 72 hours, but I'm saying it push that to seven days depending on
the time of the year. Then we close and we
are all good to go. So that is the applied
prices for tidy pay. And going through
the step-by-step. One thing I forgot to mention, it has in review just here. When it goes law, that'll that'll
change to being live. It's got the processing here. And if you wanted to, you could add a hard cover
of the book as well.
24. KDP ISBN UPDATE Lesson - No More FREE ISBN's to No/Low Content Books: So what I wanted to do
is provide you with a current update
of the kVp ISBN. So recently, kVp, if communicated out to
publishers that they will no longer be providing free ISP DNS for what they can see them
as low content books. Let's go and have a look at that communication now so
you can get some clarity around what that means for you and your publishing
moving forward. So this is the correspondence that many people
have been receiving. Let me read it to you and clarify the points
as we go through. Hello, we're sending
this e-mail since you've published a low content
in the last three months, starting May 17, that's 2022, you'll be able to publish
low content books on kVp without an ISBN. So yes, you can still publish
your low content books. It's just that you won't require an ISBN to publish
those books anymore. And you will receive a kVp, a sin number as part of that. Content book has
minimal or no content on the interior pages. These pages are generally repetitive and designed to
be filled in by the user. Common examples
include notebooks, planners, journals, and
other similar books. This does not typically
include activity, puzzle books or coloring books, which generally do not feature repetitive content on each page. Starting my 17, you
will check a box during tidal setup to identify
your book as low content. You will then have the
choice to publish without an ISBN or to submit
your own ISBN. Freak ADP. Isbn will no longer be provided
for low content books. If you're low content
books are already published and have
a free kVp ISBN. You can continue using that ISBN even if you make
changes to your book. We're more about LoadContent
books on our new Help page. Kind regards or con regards the Kindle Direct
Publishing to you. So let's go on to
some more information around this so I can
show you what it actually means regarding
the setup when you go into kVp for a
new book creation. So when you are loading up a book and you get to
the category section, which is just here. Then what you need to do is choose whether your book
is a low content book. So for example, journals,
notebooks and planners, and a lot or large print
books for content that is 16 font size or greater when you've ticked or if you have to take one of these books
if it's applicable. So you might have a
children's picture storybook that won't be applicable to being a
journal notebook on planner. So you don't have
to tick that box. If you do plan on creating
a journal or a notebook or something that is pretty much a no content book
almost or very, very low content book. Then you tick that box. When you go to the next
page of your upload, you'll be provided
with this box here, which is print ISBN. So published without an ISBN. Low content books like
no book planners, journals and other similar
books don't require an ISBN. So you've got the
option of continuing to publish exclusively with ADP. Mark your book accordingly
if it fits into the criteria of a low content
book or a large print book. The other option is
if you still wish to use an ISBN for your book, you can purchase one through
group like BellKor.com. Let me show you what this
looks like on the setup of your Amazon cat API page when you're going
through the process. If you're loading up a book
and you're at the very start, you enter your book title. And as you scroll down further and you've
done your description, you can Daniel keywords, you get to the category,
Category section. And it says, Does your book
classify as any of the types, choose all that apply, low content book, choose that. So let's have a look at what it says for low content book. Loadcontent books
have a minimal or no content on the
interior pages page, or just generally repetitive and designed to be filled
in by the user. Content books have
different ISBN and distribution options. Check this box to see the
correct option setup. So you can then click there
and go and choose that. Now, if we were to
click this box and we had no adult content there, and we go Save and Continue. Then it will take us to the
next page where we have an option of providing
our own ISBN. Or you have the box saying, publish without an ISBN. Again, you can learn more about low content books
by clicking there. And that will take
you to the section that talks you through
low content books. So LoadContent book
does minimal or no content on the
interior pages. These pages are generally repetitive and designed to
be filled in by the user, goes through the
information there. So have a read through
that if you're interested. Otherwise, what
you need to do is click that button there and continue like you'd
normally would. But if you have your own ISBN, you can click that box there
and fill in the details. So that's as simple as it is
right now with Amazon kVp. There are no significant
changes apart from the fact that
you won't be able to have global distribution of your low content
book because you won't have an ISBN
for that book. So you pretty much be
exclusively publishing with K p, which many probably 90 per
cent of authors do anyway. And if you are publishing with another group like Ingram Spark, then you probably would
already have your own ISBN. So you can just enter
those details right there. So in summary, there's a change
regarding the free ISBN, but it's not going to be
significantly impacting those that already do know
and low content books. So you can continue with
your normal process. But if you do want an ISBN, you need to go and purchase that IRB ISBN through a
group blog, BellKor. And if you are publishing through a group
like Ingram spark, you would have already
purchased your ISP in any way. So there's no big
change with that one. So hopefully that clarifies the position around the
changes for Amazon and they are free ISBN and
the die are now no longer providing for
low and no content books, specifically low content
books like journals, planners, and knows that you have people fill
in details with.
25. Lesson 18 - An Introduction to Amazon Advertising: Welcome to the next module. This is bad marketing
York ADP book. And there's a few different
options that we're going to work through. But mainly we're looking
at Amazon advertising. All going to wire. Think Amazon advertising is a great way to be able to really boost your
book and kick it off. It's called Amazon ads or IMS,
Amazon marketing services. You can use a couple of y's of free marketing by using Facebook groups and
things like that, you can obviously
use the paid way of advertising and books
on Facebook as well. And the social media sites
like Instagram for example. But we're going to be
focusing on Amazon ads. So why use Amazon ads? Well, I can drive initial
styles for you and draw the initial styles really helps the algorithm of the Amazon getting an understanding
of your book. What it's about, what the
relevant keywords are for. It does increase the relevance for your keywords for
your particular book. And you work really
hard to create your book and you need to get
it in front of customers. Amazon advertising, the way
it works is that you can actually take you directly
to the customer is talking, you're talking a certain thing, then is a beating system. And you beat per keyword. And I'll show you how
to set up an auto and abroad keyword campaigns, just, just a basic
while doing it. But your ads can also increase
review's due to the style. So the reviews are very
important for social proof. And then as I mentioned, the marketing is directly
to the Amazon customers. So the Amazon customer, if you will, to market
say on Facebook, the customer would have to
have an Amazon account so that we'll have
to see your book. You'd have to provide
a link in Facebook to Amazon that they
click on that link. Then I got to Amazon. Then I'd have to go through the details and
purchase your book that way. Whereas you know that a
customer that he's on Amazon is already looking
around for products. They might be just doing
some initial research, but many are on native purchase. So you have a
readymade audience. So let's just have
a look and see if you're advertising with Amazon. What it looks like if you're sponsoring particularly
keyword or a particular niche. If we were to go to
Amazon and we wrote IVC literate tracing for pretty cool preschools.
What would come up? We've got firstly, a sponsor, brands banner, say someone
this author has paid for that. And then if you scroll down where Lakota
see there's another one and your locker to see ones where it
might have sponsored. Now this might be
Let's go dance. This is what happens. Heavy notice how
this was released on the 11th of October. So these author has got a
little bit of an extra push by Amazon in the first 30 days to save people are
buying their books. Now the only issue here I see is the replicating
a lot of the books, trying to get a customer
to purchase one of these. But the problem is it
looks like it's a bit spammy heading
always sign covers. Got no reviews as well
and there's no purchases. That's sort of one red flag. Say how many that dog-gone. So what you need to do, let's have a look
at another one. Let's do tracing pool. Let's see if we can
follow here we are. So he has his sponsored. So this person has paid through Amazon ads to get the book
ranking up the top here. And people who don't won't necessarily see that
little sponsored Lagarde. They'll go, Oh, that looks like a good book and now purchase it. And then this person
has done quite well. Released on the
ninth of October, ranking is 17 thousand. Now reviews, review should come given
a selling quite well. And if you scroll down, you might see other sponsored,
Here's another one, another sponsored book that's through sponsored
brands as well. So there's other
ways that you can actually sponsor your books. There's a few examples of why is it you can market your book on the
Amazon platform. Let's now go and sit up. And Amazon ad.
26. Establishing the Right Mindset for Amazon Advertising: Before we start to
get into Amazon, EDS wanted to create a short little lesson about the mindset of
Amazon advertising. It can be challenging
to begin with because when you
using Amazon ads, you need to sit
yourself a budget, but you're not seeing the
results initially because Amazon advertising can be quite challenging when
you begin in our head, those challenges
always pass a bit. Maybe three hundred, four
hundred US dollars in the first month of Amazon advertising
and didn't really see any results to actually
show that they're spend of Amazon ads was actually worth
my time and effort. But as I've seen
over the journey, the importance of
Amazon advertising is being critical to getting more books in the right places for customers actually
say my books. And therefore, you need to have them on so that when
you do Amazon ads, that it really needs to
help rank your keywords and not necessarily a platform of
generating a lot of income. Yes, eventually, when you
optimize your ads and you get the right keywords towards your book through
Amazon advertising, then it can help with
income generation. But for the first three months, you should look
at it as a way of ranking your keywords and
getting it to page number one, hopefully with the
search suggestions. For example, when people
are looking for your book. Amazon advertising has a
long learning curve and the wide the campaigns
are going to show you just a simple couple of ways that you can set
up your campaigns. But it's taking the
well over 12 months, 18 months to really
get a strong handle on how Amazon advertising works. The methods that
is done helping me to grow more publishing
and more books. But the Y that you need to approach it is that
you set your budget. And if you spend your budget and you come at cost neutral, then that's actually
a good result. Because Amazon
advertising, you're always in competition with other publishers or other
authors that are what they, are, you actually in
a bidding system. And so when you're bidding
for different keywords, that could start to
go up a fair bit. And if you're, if you've got a book that doesn't have
more and have a great cover. And a customer click
on your book cover, will you will pay for that keyword that you've
obviously bidded for. But they need the
customer doesn't purchase the book after
reading your description, then you still need to
pay for that click. So it's really a
cost-per-click platform. Some bids can be
as low as four or $0.05 are the bids can
be well over a dollar. So if you were to have a keyword and your
bid was a dollar, and someone was to click on it, you would pay $1 with low and no content publishing though the margins on your books
are usually fairly low. If you're, if you've got your
book and you're selling it, your price is about $7.99 by
the time that you take out. The printing costs
in the Amazon, 6040 split, MOP left
with $2 royalty. If a book was to be purchased him without using Amazon ads. But if someone used the ad
and they spent a dollar, just to look at it,
we've only got $1 Lyft. There's only one person's clicked on it,
they don't buy it. If you've got three
people that have bought or clicked on and
after with a $1 bid, you're already negative $1. So I'd always consider just starting small
with your Amazon ads. Start with the basics. Get used to how they work and then when you feel
comfortable, step it up. One of the other
biggest challenges that our family and our starting is that when you get paid
with Amazon advertising, it's 60 days after
the end of the month. For example, if you were publishing books and you
sold HAPE seem December, they knew wouldn't be
paid until the end of February for your
December books. But in the meantime, you
might have a marketing during January and February
or even December few books, but you need to pay for your
marketing every 30 days. So there's a lag between
the money had to have app going toward Amazon ads and the income that you
get from your books. So that was more challenging. Goals already done
about 700 US dollars from Amazon advertising
the first two months. And I hadn't received any
royalties for my books because the royalties don't get paid for 60 days following
into that month. This is something to
take into consideration. Remember, just start small or test a few things
to begin with. As you get more confidence, then start to increase the
amount of campaigns you have. But just pick a few of your best books and just
try a few different things. But remember, it's not
just the US market. You can try Amazon
advertising on. It can also try it on any of the other platforms like the UK, what Canada, even Australia. And I've found some of my most successful campaigns
have been in the UK, Canada, and Australia, and
not the US because the US market is so competitive regarding
Amazon advertising. Just let me finish with this. The key point is have a
budget, try and stick to it. Start with some basic adds
to get used to the platform. Build up as you get
more experience. Maybe use one of your beta books that might be
selling organically to try and give you that boost. But I always find that the K to Amazon advertising is to
get those keywords rock. And the keywords that customers are gonna be searching
for is one of the key areas that I'll be
talking through as part of these Amazon advertising
campaigns and strategies. So I'll hide that
gives you a bit of a framework around
Amazon advertising. It is a great platform because it gets striped to the customer. And that's what I
do, love about it. But remember to get your
mindset knowing that, yes, it's going to
cost you some money. But it's an investment into your books and in investment
for the long term. The investment that you
put in at the start will hopefully pay off for you over the long term as your
books get ranked better, get better customer
reviews, more styles. Amazon love that, and they'll float that book to the
top naturally after that. I'll get onto the
Amazon ads now.
27. Lesson 19 - Finding Keywords For Amazon Advertising: The first thing we
need to do before we start running any campaigns are ads for Amazon is to ensure we have the right
specific keywords. So these are the few or a
few of the key components. So I need a cake.
Keywords relevant and specific to your book. Avoid including hundreds of keywords because in the
end it will cost you, you're getting clicks on a
relevant keywords and use a couple of sources to
find your keywords. So let's get into
the specifics of this and I'll show
you how I create. They'll get the keyword
and also create a list so that it's easy to then create my campaigns for
Amazon advertising. Very first thing we
need to do is just get a spreadsheet and just have
the title of the keywords. Now you're going
to be targeting. Recall it. Later. Tracing. Kids. Say that was the
title and that's the kind of book that we're
gonna be advertising for. So we need to now find specific keywords
that we will enter into a campaign in addition to some of the
keywords that m is on, actually do suggest
when we go through the process and you'll see what I might mean in the moment. Let's find some
specific keywords around, say, litter tracing. Learn to write kind of books. And the first place would
be to go directly to Amazon because that's where customers are searching.
So let's do that now. We use the top search
bar up here to get the main keywords that
customers are searching for. So remember, we need to make them very specific and relevant. If our book was about, we're going to try seeing
or learn to write, then we might go to rot for we might actually
bring it back, learn to rot. So now this is that
the expander CAD, the IMC that suggests
an expand out as well. So what will we do? We would copy that, go back to our
spreadsheet Control V. And what we would need
to do is just do this. We need to crop, crop
on the side of the y. What we start to do, just fine. If I do this, then
starts wrote down all these ones that are
irrelevant to the book. Most of these would be relevant. A lot of these are as well. So what I'll do, I'll pause, I'll write these down, and then I'll show you what
we need to keep on doing. I've gone ahead and I've jotted and the majority
of these down. So I would then get rid of that. I'll then go back to this. And you can keep searching. Keep bringing up these words. And again, you would
copy and you would paste this back into
your spreadsheet. So I'll show you again. We go back into it and
I've pasted it in. I keep writing. Maybe see tracing for schools and our cake
rotting eyes down. So I'll do a few more
days and you just keep adding relevant keywords, both what we call short tile, a long tail keywords. So you might just have
a short tail keywords will be glad to try seeing. And then the longer tail
keywords are these ones here that you may not
get as much traffic, but if they're specific
to what your books about, you might actually
convert more often. Just keep on doing that. And Mendota, only
for relevant words. So that's one of the
key ways to do that. Now the other way we'll do it is by using another software, which I'll show you right now. And I'll show you
the specific way we can get keywords during
that method too. This is sought
called Amazon ice. And what I'm gonna do, my graphic, ice and number here. We're going to copy. We're going to get
back to this website. You're going to paste it. And let's find out if
this is free, by the way, let's see if it pulls up any keywords that this
book is ranking for. And it might be something similar to what we wanted to do. Let's scroll down here. And these could help you
with different keywords. So you think that might
be one that we want. So we go and we paste
it in a spreadsheet. We go back to it again. And we got this could be another one that I actually
hadn't thought of before. We go back here and we apply
set one there as well. You can then choose
another book. Let's go for this book. Go back. Let's swap this over. We go through here. Again, it gives you some details
about the book as well, number of reviews, the pricing. Let's go down any further. Sometimes it takes
a little bit of time for the
keywords to come up. Here we are. So these are ones that are
actually hadn't died. Think I've thought of Ada. We wrote these ones down or
get those ones noted down. I'm just copying this one we might have, but there is a y. We can just make sure
we don't duplicate. So we just go down and we
copy all of these data. Let's do that one. I think we've got that
one there. We go back. And you can just keep adding different keywords
from other books that you might be aware of. And so we just kept going. And we just want to make sure we wont assign
what's going on here. The next thing we
need to do is to make sure that we remove
any duplicates. And we can do that
by going to data. We got to remove duplicates. We're going to call an I. And
we only had one duplicate, and then we wrote to go. Now there is another way
that you can find this. This is the, this is the
way to do it for free. They ease another
way if you wanted to speed up the process. And I'll show this on now this tutorial is
module or the sun. The whole unit of
what we're doing is all that ways
to do it for free. But let me show you a
paid way that you might consider once you start in some royalties
that you might want, are we investing to business? And it's called
Publish a rocket. And this is the platform.
What will you do? It's a one-off
subscription model and you have lifetime
access to it. It's under a 100 US dollars. And in the bonus lesson I'll
provide some details about it in that I just
got to IMS keywords. So just say it was tracing. Tracing. We are going
to get them rocket. This will actually bring up a whole heap of different words. So you can actually
see all of these. And you would go through
and make sure that they all relative to
what you're doing. There might be, for
example, this one here. If this one wasn't relevant, then you wouldn't include it. And what you do is you simply export this as a spreadsheet and then you can go through
and delete any and you can add it to your list
which you're creating here. And you can just keep on
changing that around so that you do different searches all
the time and bring up different words and then you
just delete any duplicates. So that's another way
that you can speed up the process incredibly quickly
by using publisher rocket. Yeah, no, I'll leave the details of this in the bonus
lesson for you. That's the y that we go
through the process of finding relevant keywords
for our k and pines. And you just need to
make sure that you have the rod relevant keywords. Not too many, but in plenty that will give you lots of
different options for your customers to
find your book. Said that ends this lesson. And next on Ganesh show
you actually how to create an automatic add. And then there'll be
a separate one in regards to a broad campaign, broad search time,
it can't bind, so I'll get onto
that in a moment.
28. Lesson 20 - An Introduction to Amazon Advertising Campaigns: Welcome to this new lesson. It's an introduction to IMS advertising, Amazon
marketing services. And we're gonna be
looking at auto campaigns and keyword targeting campaigns. Auto targeting campaigns
is when we actually LET Amazon do the workforce. Now, what are they
going to try and do is get drew or match your book
up against different books, different keywords,
different categories. And they're going to try and
find if there's anything in particular that will help
you generate some styles. Now, when we do our
manual campaigns are keyword targeting
campaigns were actually doing the
research to find out what keywords waiting they
should be matched up against. But with the auto
targeting campaign, we let in the Amazon
algorithm do that for us. Now, the problem that can arise is that Amazon
might be putting your book up against irrelevant keywords
or irrelevant books. And therefore
sometimes the spend, you can get a little
bit out of control if you don't put a budget on it. So that's why it's
important to put a good firm budget in place for your auto campaigns and
to check those campaigns regularly and to make sure
you what we call optimize, which we'll cover later on, to make sure that we're
not overspending. In regards to have keyword
targeting campaigns. What I'll teach you in a
lesson and environment, he's had a fall on
those keywords and then how to apply them
to your campaigns. Now these are the ones keywords that you think people will be searching for when they do their search on the
Amazon search bar. And we create our campaigns
based on those keywords. Amazon will also help suggest some keywords
that we can use. But we, I bought combining both that will help us to
get the right keywords. So that's the introduction. Let's get into the next lesson.
29. Lesson 21 - How to Create an AUTO Campaign: Welcome to the next lesson. This is bad how to create an auto targeting
campaign on Amazon. Now this is when we let Amazon, through the algorithm,
choose a theta secretion. What keywords or different categories or potential
books that the dye think, Ebook Manoch, she
convert into a sale. Now, there are gonna be words
or books or categories at Amazon mark put a book in front of that might not be
necessarily relevant, and it can spend a little
bit more money on occasion. That's where it's important to just check in regularly with the ad to make sure that
you're not either spending. But let's run through the
process now of how to establish and set up an
automatic campaign for KP. The first thing you need
to do is to jump on your bookshelf and you need to find the
book that you want. And just say you did a
search for literature icing. And you came up with
this book just here. And so what we're gonna do, we're going to mark that book. So we go to these
three dots here and we go to promote and advertise. It will then give us an
opportunity to choose the marketplace and we're
going to choose.com. I got to create an ad campaign. When these sets itself up. We then will get an opportunity to choose
one of these three. Now we're just doing
an automatic campaign. And sponsor brands is when you have the
banner across the top. So we don't need that one. We want S sponsored products, so we click Continue here. Then we go into the actual
creating the campaign process. We're going to say
tracing book all time. And I'm just going
to do Example. Know what that's about. You can choose a
portfolio if you had different portfolios
that you had with the books, you can create those. You have a start or an indict. Sometimes you just let
the campaign to run its course and not have an indict if you
checking it regularly. But if you would lock in indict, you just add that
mopping two weeks, four weeks, three months. What did he choose? The daily budget is up to you. Sometimes if you have
a limited budget, you might just want to have
it loud about three or $4. Or if you have a bigger
budget and might be $10. But when you're starting out, just start with a low budget
to get to know the process. Let's just start with
thought those to begin with. You have two options here. In the next module, we're gonna be talking
about manual targeting. In this one, we're doing
our automatic targeting. This is when Amazon would target keywords and products as
similar to the production unit. We'll choose that one. We have three options here. We will choose dynamic Beads
down, meaning that Amazon, if there is a book that out output can
target and the bead, these less than side-to-side we targeting at
twenty-five cents, if it's less than $0.25, Amazon will allow
us to beat at say, $0.20 or $0.99 atomic
dynamic beads up or down. It can actually move
the bead up by 100%. So if you had a beta of $0.20, Amazon can actually be $0.40 on your behalf against the book it thinks might convert,
but it might not. On the other flip side, they
can actually reduce as well, or you can fix your bids, but I'd just like to have
dominant ohmic bids down so I can actually spend less if it has an opportunity to do so. We can choose whether we write our own little styles
text against the book. But you just got to
be careful, Amazon, quite strict on what you can write on only just to standard, which means that there'll
be no sales rotting under. And I've never seen any
difference by adding custom text. Now on only copy this, and I'll place that under
the group nine just TO. The next area is that we need
to follow and EHR product all find that book now
and place it here. So we have a product that we
actually beating against. And I've found the book
and I've added the book. So the P is here. Then
we scroll down here. And we've got our
opportunity to sit a bead. Amazon is suggesting
a bit of a dollar. Every time someone clicks on, that would erode our block way, probably only getting a
random better dollar IT on the sow process here. So that is why, why too hard with a road
any budget we'd have. So you might just
want to have it at 20, $0.23 for example. And that's an automatic bead. And that will gather beads at $0.22 or lower because we
had done in liquids, ****. You had the opportunity
of what they call negative keyword targeting. So if you have a Moby, a later tracing book, but
you don't want your book. I haven't going against
number tracing books, then you can actually add a negative exact or fries
that you don't want. And that's normally
something you add as the campaign moves
along, not initially. And then what you do is launch a campaign that's as
simple as it is to set up an automatic
campaign allowing Amazon to choose
the categories and the products and
the keywords that your book we'll be going up against or be searchable
for the Amazon customers. And it's quite an
easy process to do. And you find that
auto campaigns, you, my font, keywords or
products that you didn't realize customers are searching for and your book
was selling under. It does have a very good Y of gathering extra keywords in nine other thought about they
can add to other campaigns. So that is how to set up
the automatic campaign.
30. Lesson 22 - How to Create a Keyword Campaign: Welcome to the next lesson
in regards to how to create a keyword
targeting campaign. So we can do the same
process as we did before. We're gonna go back onto, as we did with the
Auto campaign, we're gonna get back onto the Amazon marketing
services platform and we're gonna create a
keyword targeting campaigns. So let's jump on
the platform now. The first step we
need to do is under sponsored products where
we get to do our keywords, we got to continue. This will bring us
up with the details again to create a campaign. So we might call it
a try seeing book. We're gonna do broad keywords. And then what we do, we can choose a portfolio
again if we choose to, or we can have an indict. I just like to keep it on indict so that I can keep
monitoring it. Let's just do another budget of $5 and we'll keep that minimum. Now this time, what
we're going to be doing is choosing
manual targeting. And this is where we
actually choose keywords or products to Target
shoppers searches and sit customer beads. Again, we have an
opportunity of choosing. We want dynamic bids down. Dynamic beads up on
Dan or fixed speeds. Always just loved to choose
dynamic beads because therefore amazon will lower the price if there's an
opportunity to do so. I'm gonna keep it at
custom text for the head. Next, we need to choose the book that we had
where we want to target. And we're gonna choose
the same book that we did for the
automatic campaign. I've chosen the book again. And now I need to do is scroll
down to the next section. This is where it has targeting. So we can choose targeting of
keywords or PROC targeting. So that's when we actually
choose categories or brands or Pacific
specific books. We're gonna be doing keyword
targeting for this one. What we need to do, We go down and we have our list of books, sorry, uh, keywords that we wanted to initially interrupt. So Amazon my, provides you with a whole list of keywords that they think we
should be targeting. And yes, we will definitely
have a look at those. But to begin with, we need to enter at
least now to start with, we're just going to be
using broad and Fridays. We're not doing exact. So that's what we need to do. We just grab our keywords. So this is where we need
to enter a keyword, um, highlight them or copy them. We got back to our campaign and we simply enter the Maltese. Now it's really
important that you click here and go to
default bead because Amazon will spray sit at 75
since we want to lower that $0.22 as a default beat
if it's got broad or fries with broad
keyword search terms, it means that if it was just
learn to write for kids, it might even have
learned to write for kids spelled chi odd d, z. You just don't know what
customers I can have taught and equal have words at the
start, we're to the end. But you just need to know that it's going to be very
broad, that's gonna be doing. And phrases might be different phrases that
people might taught in. And so we need to
add four bytes. So $0.22 we add those, might kick back a couple. Now the other thing
we want to do is we want to go to suggested. Are there different
words here that we can use that will target ebook. So I would suggest, yes, Now this is giving
us a suggested bead. Now this is a very
competitive niche. Gallaudet tracing. I
wouldn't be surprised. Surprise is some
bids of this heart. But we go down here and add any that we think might
be specific to our book. We go down Bobby,
kindergarten book. Christmas. Say what domain? Christmas, it might be
Christmas that people want in quickly do that and
we keep going down. We can add whatever we feel is specific and
you can add them all. You can add whatever
you want to. Just add heaps and
down here min, but just be very, very specific. I'm just gonna leave it there. The other one because it
is a Christmas theme. Christmas tracing. Whoops, I didn't
spell that wrong. We'll do that. Christmas. Tracing them at the moment. We just get rid of that one. And you can do that as well. It can preempt some of the ones. We're going to add
those two as well. You can add as many as you want, but remember all
with Kate them to under a 100 or a
couple of 100 maximum, just as long as
he's very specific. Now, if you want, you can even add if it's
really specific to eBook. Wait, I'm not rot
Christmas tracing. I might add those to look. We've got that one already, so we just need to
check this and just make sure it's doing
the right thing. We couldn't even do. Sometimes it might be
logging activity book, but let's just
keep it like that. I think I've got everything
laid down or I might just get rid of any duplicates, which was that one. That one. So I always get rid
of that one day. Whoops. Let's get rid of that
one and bring it up. And then we add
those keywords and navies exact that they're
gonna be targeting. Then we go down. There might be some
negative keywords that we don't want a book
to be going against. So you're welcome to
include those that are normally do that once I go back and check my ads to
make sure that they are actually targeting
throughout keywords. And we don't want custom text, way wanted where
we want standard. Then we will launch a
campaign. We'd launch it. And then it gets reviewed, moderated, and it can take
up to a couple of days. So a couple of days potentially, but says 72 hours, three days, but
are usually found within four to five
hours maximum. I've got 58 keywords on
targeting, which is, which I feel is the best method because you're really
targeting specific words, but maybe you can include
up to say 200 keywords. And I've got my schedule
and modally budget. And I should have also
added AI group nine, which was the same as these. That is, how to set up your broad and fries keyword
campaign for Amazon ads.
31. Expanding Your Amazon Ads to Other Marketplaces: In this lesson, one
of the cover off, the opportunity to expand into different marketplaces with
your Amazon advertising. But if you're having challenges regarding
your Amazon ads, spend your icons
might be very high. In America, what I ended
up doing is expanding into the UK and the
Canadian marketplaces and also more lightly Australia, because they seem to be or they are less competitive
marketplaces. The cost-per-click is much less. Competition is obviously
going to be much less. And you can actually
practice better and test different things in those marketplaces
without blowing a budget. And also the opportunity
to expand into these newly formed marketplaces that still aquatic green
is a great opportunity. And if you can get your
books ranking in some of these marketplaces,
particularly as stria, which really only allowed you to start advertising around
about nine months ago, is still a really
good opportunity. In a moment, what I'll do
is I'll show you some of my results from those
marketplaces and talk you through some of
the thoughts that I had around advertising in those marketplaces
and why I've done it. And some of the tips
that I can give you to help with your expansion. Because you should
be thinking just, you shouldn't, you
shouldn't be thinking just about the American market. There are so many
more marketplaces. I think there's a
random about 12 or 14 different marketplaces
now you can advertise. Those could be the UK,
Canada, Australia. And even if you had
books were converted in different languages,
such as German, Italian, French, you
can actually go and market your books in
those places as well. But let me show you
my Australian market, CT and MRI UK advertising. I want to show you
the performance that I've had from when office started to
advertising books. And then how that's gone over the last nine
months really. What more results of bank? Because I think it'll help
actually help you along. Let me show you that right now. Let me show you through
some of the key elements of marketing in
different marketplaces. So remember when you do click on what they call the
analysis of your book, you can see the
different marketplaces you can advertise on. And there's a
drop-down that says either the US or all the
different marketplaces. And that's how you choose the different marketplaces
that you want to marketing or advertising. And what you do
need to do though, is actually register in each of the marketplaces
you wish to. You can just have a US.com Amazon advertising
account and named the outer advertise on the UK, in Australia, in Canada, in Italy, for example, you do need a separate account. I've got my accounts
at the moment, so I'm going to show you three, the UK, Canada, and Australia. Let's start with the UK. And this is my loft on of Amazon advertising
to current ICT. Let's have a look at
the components here. We've got our spend amount
and it's an English pound. So as an example, the Australian dollar for me, 11 English pound equals about
2.75 Australian dollars. So it costs me a lot of money. Said that 5 thousand
at 5.5 thousand pounds is actually costed
me around about 14 thousand Australian dollars. But if you look at
what I've earned, that quite surrendered at $50 thousand for that spin
strain dollars at ease. But we have a look at
here that span the style. I'm happy at anytime
to spend 5 thousand, It's generate $21
thousand of sales. And look at the impression. So nearly closing on the new
in impressions for my books, which is excellent
for brand awareness. Even if someone doesn't
bond MOD book immediately. Dyads same operand as saying the cover and they might
not buy the first time, might even be sick and on, but it might be the
third time now. But I've had over 3 thousand
orders and an icon of 25% will just close
them on 26% on average. That's a great result. And if we look back
where I started, so I only started small, It's been about five
Canadian dollars, sorry, five English
pants and begin with. And then you can say,
as I became more confident in his mark apply
some a bookstore to sell. I also started to increase the spend and it
converted the styles, but also I dropped off
advertising when are needed to. As it picked up here,
that was in quarter four, busiest time of the year, spent 875 English pants, but might either 3.5 thousand. And then this area
here spend one, I've just want 1000 pounds for 5.5 thousand pounds in styles. This was a ballet
that was mothers die. Period of time where I had some Mother's
Day books that are selling then are pulled away
from Amazon advertising. Just because mom,
more books weren't particularly selling at those particular
terms afterwards. So you just need to adjust to adapt to different
celebrations. And in the bonus
section of this course, I've got the
celebration dates for the US, UK, and Canada. You just need to check those
because if you do have gift books for particular
times of the year, it's good to know
that in advance. That's the UK one. Let's go to the next
one, which is Canada. I spent nearly 6 thousand
Canadian dollars, but to make 29 thousand, remember that's the
styles of the book, not the profit, and you need to be mindful
of that as well. That's the title styles. You need to title why the
cost of printing and Amazon, Amazon's cat in regards to what percentage that
you get at your books. But again, I had closing
on 7 million impressions. Really good. I toss of 25 a percent and closing on 3 thousand orders
for that period of time. You can see again, I love quarter four
was a big month, big three months where
I really ramped up my advertising styles of
6,200 for spin 1, $1000. Again, these tom of
the ear styles of 3.5 thousand for
spending a $100. And you can see it drops
off a bit as well. So that's important to consider when you're
doing your advertising, to tailor it for different
times of the year. Let's go to the font
one now this is dry up. I didn't really
advertise until around about was 2020, $2120. I had a high icons to begin with until I sort of worked out. The platform would be better. I think I was advertising, but it wasn't getting much of
a result of that point on. So pull back. And then I did say some book
standard do well, are then increased
my advertising. And you can see here
it was styles at 22,100 different
icons at 21.400%, which is a really good outcome. Again, it's got over 1
million impressions as well. Spend $6,623 for return of 2790. I'm happy to take that as an outcome as part of advertising on the
Australian platform. Just make sure you continue to look at different
marketplaces. And I think it's
important that you expand beyond just
the US marketplace. As you can see more results. A grade here, if I went
to my US marketplace, the cost is probably going
to be considerably high. If I look at the whole lifespan
of Amazon advertising, I think it might
even be averaging about 3840% percent even. But that's considering
that are started off, not really knowing
what I was doing, but I worked at how
to control my spin, optimize Amazon ads
and things like that. But that's part of this lesson. Part of the course is to think
broader than just KD pay. Broader also in regards to the marketplaces week ADP as well. Because I don't want you
just to limit to one area, needs to expand your thinking about where books
are gonna be sold. And the great thing about publishing is that we can expand our books to all
different countries because we can get them
translated as well. And that's just an
incredible opportunity now with the online platforms
were made available to us. Hopefully that helps and
place can see that opening your opportunities to the international marketplaces
for Amazon advertising.
32. Lesson 23 - Advanced Strategies to Scale: In this lecture, we're
gonna be talking about the advanced strategies
that they can use to scale the strategies
and the tools that I've used to scale my business
from selling a few books initially to selling well at
20 thousand books per year. There are strategies
they can use, but there are also tools
that I've found to be extremely useful in
regards to citing time, helping generate more sales, but also the ability to
look more professional. And the professional
element of when you're publishing is something that
you might not get initially. But the more books you publish, the more you learn and the ability to adapt to
what the customer wants is critical as part of your advanced strategies
for growing your business. I want to go through
just a bit of a snapshot really of some of the main
platforms that are used. The benefits of them
and why I use them. And then we'll use a
couple of other strategies that I think might be
really helpful for you, for your publishing business
in the years to come. Let's get into those now.
33. The Future of Creating Low Content Books Using AI (Artificial Intelligence): In this updated lesson, I wanted to provide my thoughts
and feelings and a bit of information around using
artificial intelligence for creating books for Amazon, kVp, but even other bookstores as well online book platforms. So what is my take on it? Well, let me go through a
few things about how you might be able to use
AI to create books, but also some strengths, weaknesses, opportunities
and threats. My own swat analysis
on where I think I might be going to for
your book creation process. Let's get into a
presentation now. I'll take you through a
few different AI platforms that are currently quite
hot at the moment. And then how I think that I might transform the way
that we do self-publishing. To start with, let's look
at a couple of different, or three different AI platforms that you
might be familiar with. And I'm going to
focus more on chat GPT than the others because I don't have as much
experience with the others. But let's go into that now. We've got chat GPT, which is our Open AI, which I'll jump on
to in a minute. Then these mid journey. And there's also Jasper. These are the three
that I'm familiar with. I'm sure there's
probably plenty more that will come out
in the near future. However, I am getting more
familiar with chat GPT, so I'll be covering more
of that in this lesson. And why is it you can utilize that to your advantage when
you're self-publishing. What I thought I
would do to try and create some structure
around this. I just went to Amazon and I've just written
children's storybook. And if I go down here I
can see unicorn book. And there's a couple of
other books, mermaid books. Let's, let's focus on, sorry, a unicorn book. And let's see what we can gather and create a story from that. So if we go back to
check GBT and we say, if we create a 300 word, roaming, roaming, a story about a unicorn,
learns to flop. Okay, so let's see what
this comes up with and find out if this could create a children's
picture storyboard. Once upon a time
in a magical land, sophie lived a unicorn with
a mean of silver here. She gazed in fields
dance in the sun, but one thing was missing. She had not begun to spread wings and saw
through the sky. She dreamed of flying
and learning how to fly. She asked the other
creatures big and small, but they all laughed and
said she couldn't get all. The unicorn was sad
and felt quite low. She thought you'd never
learn this skill. But then one day she
lay in the grass, she saw a bird
soaring past so fast. She closed her eyes and
visualize the flight. And when she opened them,
she saw a beautiful thought. Her wings, It's sprouted
and she was ready to saw. She flipped them once, twice, then off she did so up in
the sky sheets world and she spun with a Winona in Maine and the
sun at her tongue, she laughed with joy and felt so alive as she flew
higher and higher. She didn't want to dive from that day on the
unicorn fruit fly. And she spread your wings up in, up, in the sky so high. She amazed all creatures
with a Grayson of flare and they all cheapy parade as she
passed through the air. The unicorn learn
that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and make
it unavoidable. So whenever she felt, she felt down or
just wants to play, she spent her wings and takes to this guy for a joyful slide. So some of these, I really like, some of
it needs some work. But this was created
in about 20 s. And what I'd need to do is adapt some of these to make
sure that it made sense and went through the process of making sure
grammatically it was okay. And that it does
actually make sense. But you can see the power
of this and how quickly it came up with a story about a
unicorn that learns to fly. But what would happen if
you copied that exact line? Would you get the
exact same story? And someone else is going to
get exactly the same story. So that's where the
trouble may delay. If someone created a
YouTube video, e.g. about a back reading a book about a uniform
unicorn that could fly, would everyone start
to get the same story? Now, let's have a look. You can refine it and
you can change it. So you could have a change to a 250 story. And then what happens? That should have been
250. Let's stop that. Ray brought rewrite
250, we're storing. And let's try it
again. Thinking. What I might have to do is
adjust this guy down here. It's going there. So just
wanted to see the change. I just saw here to spread your wings and
soul through the sky. She dreamed of flying
and learning how to fly. She asked the creatures, but
they just laughed and said, flies off the media,
especially in your head. The unicorn was sad but
you didn't lose hope. She closed her eyes and
visualize a way to cope. So you can see how it
actually has changed things based on the word count. So you can do that as well. Now I'm going to keep
moving through this. Otherwise it can
actually use chat GPT, or an AI would be for keywords. Keywords for a
children's unicorn, storybook. Let's see. It starts to generate those. We can stop generating. Or you might want to have a title of a book
about a unicorn. Lens to fly called Jim. Jim mom and the flying unicorn. It's highly venture
and self-discovery. So I could say rewrite two IT, this monophonic go and eventually shorten
it very, very short. You can have different
ways you do. So. You can see very, very quickly, I've been able
to come up with a story. I can show that, I
can lengthen it. I can then if you
do a sales copy, so if you want a
description of the book, a prescription of a
book for a unicorn. Mama, to flow. Here we go. Following
your mom are curious and determined
unicorn agenda, she discovers her
ability to fly. This heartwarming tale explores
themes or self-belief and perseverance is Gemma
overcomes challenges and spreads it.
Wings in the sky. Join Jumana on a
magical adventure and be inspired to
reach for the stars. So it's actually
very, very good. So that's how you can
use chat GBT or OpenAI. It's extremely powerful,
but you've just got to be careful about putting your
own special touch to it. And that's what I see. The problem with these potentially is that they might be shortcuts,
that they can be taken. So just be very, very wary of that. But within a few minutes, There's some powerful ways you can use it
towards your book. And that's just a
tip of the iceberg. Now, I'm not gonna go into great detail about
this next one, mid journey or do your
own research on it. But from what I see, you can actually get II created illustrations
done very, very quickly. But all I'm going
to say on this one is just be very careful on the copyright side of things
and the ownership of it. Check the terms and conditions, but do your own research
about meat journey. And I think you'll be
amazed at what the ability of this system has to generate
illustrations for a book. The last one is called jasper. You can also use this for our new images and
marketing copy. So again, I would look into
what you can do with this. You can get a free
account to begin with. And you can generate
using stuff for art, and it will generate it for you. So this one, Let's have a look at the
different creating content. You can Rock content in
different languages. So if you had a book that you
wanted to get translated in different languages
and help you out. Now, one last thing, I just wanted to mention
that meet journey, that is a paid plan of
30 dollar paid plan. I believe it is. It might change by the time you actually go to
it and sign-in. But with the $30 paid plan, did you actually can get access and rights to the use of images. But there is CO license, which means that you
don't have full ownership of those illustrations if
you're using the journey, but please check out the terms and conditions
before you start using it. For the commercial use
of those images with any of these AR technology
that you might be using. But There are three. So
we've got our chat, GPT, we've got meet journey,
and we've got chess. But I did a three that I've
become aware of that you can start using if you intend to use IR towards your
book creation process. Now let me cover
off the strengths, weaknesses, threats,
and opportunities. It's what we call our swat
analysis. Say strengths. I can be a massive time-saver. The time it will save you
could be significant. Any Saudi illustration
with a unicorn book, how quickly that
story was developed for me and for the majority, for the good part of it
was actually very good. Could be huge cost savings. So you might like to use
it for illustrations. And if you can pay a
30 dollar fee e.g. for, for meat journey to
create illustrations for you, rather than engaging
in Illustrator. That could be a pathway
you choose to go down. But also in regards to copy
or sales copy and writing, the amount of time
saved is significant. For that. Next thing, the cast the net wider than ever before
for niche ideas, keyword sales copying,
seeking additional data. So it's becoming the
opportunity for us to gather information that we can use is becoming even brought
it every single day. The more input we
provide these systems, the more powerful
they will become. One of the weaknesses
we could be in breach would infringe on copyright
and trademark law. That's a serious thing
you need to look into and make sure you make
the right decision and check everything first. There is a gray area when it comes to ownership
of inflammation, then then your opportunities for the commercial use
of that information for now and in the future. So imagine if you had a book, you create that using
say, meat journey. It was making a lot of money. And then I came to
you and say, well, by the way, we've
got a co license. We actually have partial
ownership of this book as well, because the illustrations, we want you to start
paying us now. So think carefully about that. And we could reduce
your appetite potentially learn
absorb information when it's so readily available. And cats thinking Tom down
significantly, again, its pros and cons about that.
What are the opportunities? When should we embrace the technology that we
have at our disposal? We need to think about how things are going
to change for you. These systems becoming
more intelligent and we need to continue to be at the forefront of
a new technology. So I think we should embrace it. You may not always
agree with it, but you do need to
embrace it and move forward and determine
how much benefit you. I will provide a
whole new advancement when it comes to the
book creation process. Uses cave abilities
at a minimum of keyword research and
nice niche research, and assisting with
titles and subtitles. You don't do use them directly, just allow to come up with a few different options for
you to consider and then put your own personal touch on
it. What are the threats? Well, it's kind of a
technology will have a significant impact on the way that we create a regional
entirely books and resources. So I could impact
the professionals. Such should be professionals, Illustrator's,
copywriters, artists, many other freelancers
with some of the work can be done in a fraction of the time with a
fraction of the cost. I'm not suggesting that the
quality may be as high, but some people may choose using the new technology
versus a human being. There may be a huge influx of new and Facebook's flooding kVp and other publishing platforms. With this new technology, the market may become even more competitive for
the knees right now. You need to think about a few things and these
are my thoughts. Think of your customer. What would they want when they want to create a
children's picture? Where the storylines
being cow created by AI. What about illustrations? Would you personally buy a book that you'd use credit by II? It was about a penguin that
didn't know how to swim. Would you buy that or
do move away from it? You just need to think
about your customers. I often create books, but there is still a
critical phrase of a successfully
launching our books. So anyone to light up books, but who will ever see them if
they don't know about them. So the launch of your
book processes critical. So don't ever lose sight of
quality versus quantity. And the human factor
of feelings and emotions is highly
unique to human beings. So we need to make
sure we tap into that. It's something that
an ISI can yet do. So let's, let's
make sure we take advantage of that and put that into your writing
in the way you create your books and
your illustrations. If you're using
illustrations in your book. And finally, please be very, very careful and consider any legal consequences or ramifications using
AI technology. So don't be surprised if K2 AP real line in
terms of business, but book publishing based on methods used with
the support of AI. What I'm saying is, you need to think
of the long term. Don't just take
shortcuts using AI and get it compromise your future within publishing because
you're doing that. So there are a couple of
things that I wanted to bring up using IRF4 book creation. And there are a
few more thoughts that are ordered you to be aware of before you move
forward with it. So everyone's going to have their own opinion about
where they feel it. I will come into play
for book publishing. Now, for me, I think I'm going to look at different ways
that I can embrace it. There or not. Not every part of
AI I agree with. But it's moving at
such a rapid rate that I think it's important to keep up with new developments
as they come through. There has probably
quite a few things into concerning worry me about the self-publishing
space with I-I, particularly the volume of
books that people might start creating with the advancement of time-saving methods
of creating books. But there are other ways that we can obviously
utilize it. As I've mentioned the
presentation that will certainly be to our advantage. I just don't want
it to take over elements of quality
versus quantity. That's my biggest concern. And I also know that
we need to think of the way that our
customers are thinking, which I covered it early
in the presentation. So hopefully that helps you. There is a lot to play
out in this space. Keep up-to-date with
how you can use it to your advantage without taking advantage of customers by providing them with poor
quality or my books. Just try and be as
original as you can to provide the best experience
you can for your customers.
34. Lesson 24 - Publisher Rocket Tutorial: Publish a rocket is a
software or a platform we can use that I've
used very well, pretty much from the start
of my self-publishing back in the early parts of 2020. And I'll find it beneficial because it will speed
up the process so much compared to without
manually had to do a lot of the work that
this software does. But also the benefit being it's a one-off payment
philosoph Tom axis. And they constantly providing
renewed little updates and features which is
fantastic and benefits that will make things even easier and they'll
continue to do that. Let's do a common theme throughout the scissor
demonstration. So if we did word search for adults and we got
to go get them rocket. Just wait for this to load. So what we do, we will see
the different words here and we just take over here the ones that are
applicable to the book. So if we were just doing a
word search book for adults, we wouldn't do the Spanish one. Large, meaning large print, is a fuel values as well. Let's do that. Let's go down to animals. Let's go down to Christmas. Difficult, easy. Games. Halloween. Rob, let's just look at
these ones to begin with. It keep provides you with
the average number of pages for these different keywords
in the books of feature. The competitors,
the average price, the average monthly earnings, estimated Amazon search
results per month, and the competitive school. Competitive score is
how competitive it is. Closer to 100 is the
highest competition. Lowest number one is
the least competition. So this one here we'd
have low competition. But we can look at these
elements and think, brought this 333 pages, 1200 under 201,200 competitors, $14 Battalion my camera and $52. But if we look at this one here, this one's word search
for adults, easy. So that could be a keyword. You could look to create a book. And you look at the number of competitors which is strong, which is good on
name, average price, very, very healthy
monthly earnings. Search results are
very, very good. And then we got local petitions
that meet your criteria. If we wanted to identify
this a bit further, we click on this
button just here. This will take us to
a page that will show us all the books and
all the information. This book here, It's the
square and search book. It's got a really good,
healthy life book price, daily sales, a $133.359. You look at this one.
This one is making $20 thousand per month, which is very, very strong. If we wanted to look a little bit deeper into these books, decided was this book just hear the BSI average based on these 20 thousand and really good,
healthy monthly styles. So let's check these out. And loosely actually take us to the word search
puzzle books for adults. And it will show us all
the information that we need and we can go down further. And it provides the
different categories of sin and the different
reviews as well. The other feature that we can do from these pages actually
say the categories. So if we went to this book here and we wanted to
see the categories, these are the categories
this book is ranking for. So if you had a similar book, you might want to copy
these categories. Then go to tidy p
to the Help Center. You can add these keywords, as I mentioned,
these categories. You can add these categories
as I mentioned in the category lecture that we've already covered
throughout the course. And you can add these as part of your in categories which you
are led to have per book. That's another feature
there as well. You can export all
these information too. That's one key area. Let's go back home again. So we've looked at this sort of competition analyzer as well. So that's sort of features
if we were to do, would search for adults folded due to
competition analyzer that would bring up that page. And you can have a look at all the different books and get ideas and you can
load more as well, the category search function. If we wanted to find out what categories
we could potentially put that book into if we
did word, word search. There's those two. But if you just eat word, then as a whole heap
of different ones by crosswords, word games. And these will actually
tell you if you filter it. If you were to get to
the number one ranking, you would need an
average base hour of 157 thousand if you are
in the Kindle Store. But remember, we're wanting
the book bookstore. So if we get into books, this book here, you
wouldn't put your across, we'll would surge book
in this category. But if you were to
rank it number one, then that's the base. And you need eight styles
to get to number one. But anyway, this shows you all the different
things as well. The other feature
of publisher rocket is if you just got a new search. And if we were to type in
search books for adults, then this will come up
with a whole heap of different search
terms that you can use and copy for your
Amazon advertising, for your broad, or we will
phrase or your exact keyword search campaigns for
Amazon advertising, you can grab all of
this information, but what I'd encourage
you to do is antique any that aren't
relevant to your book. So you might go down
and you might see, decides not swearing,
searching on ticket. And we might want to
get rid of those. You can actually pick
up different IDs as well while going through here and seeing the
different books. Once you've antic,
the ones that are irrelevant, you can export it. And then that's really to
add into your campaign. The last thing are the tutorials that
you can do as part of published a rocket and these different areas
you can look into. So it's really worthwhile
doing that as well. So they have an overview
of published a rocket. And I. The quick features
that it provides, It's not an easy easily two are nice and easy to find different areas
that you need. And it's been incredibly
helpful for me to style more books on finding
the right keywords. Like in fauna, well
the competition doing on adding the
right categories. And they didn't want to, I want to advertise
or can actually search for the right keywords that customers are
searching for as well. So that's the overview
of published a rocket. And if you wanted some, if you wanted to get
published a rocket, they need the bonus
section or provide a link to be able to get
that software for yourself.
35. Publisher Rocket Update 2024: This is just a very quick
update for Publisher rocket. Now, publisher rocket
as of July 9, 2024, has made a number
of new updates to both the platform that you can actually use when you're
doing your research, which is this one right here. Currently, once it slows up, version 2.0 0.85, will give you the most up to date version of
publisher rocket, including the new Amazon ads feature that you can then use to find out the
main keywords you should be using for your Amazon ads to be
the most effective. Now, if you have
publisher rocket already, all this will be free of charge, all the new updates
you can access. However, if you don't
have publisher rocket, there'll be a new pricing
structure that is now in place. Previously, it was $97. Now it's $199, and that will accommodate
all these new features, and it still is a
fantastic offer because it is a once
off lifetime payment, and you get access plus
future updates all for free. That is the new pricing
structure for publisher rocket. Make sure you go and
check out all of the new features and ensure you had the most recent update of Publisher rocket
on your system.
36. Lesson 25 - Book Bolt Tutorial: Book bolt is a software that really helps for
a number of key areas, including keyword research,
different niches, selections, helping
with kapha design. So there's quite a few
different features that book bulb use. And to include that helped
me to scale by publishing. So let's have a
bit of a look into the different
features that you can actually x's as
part of Book bulb. But remember, as I've
mentioned during the course, they do have some free
elements here as well. That way gonna go into what a subscription model would provide you with,
with book ball. This is the main dashboard
for book bulb and you can have two levels
of subscription. There's the standard level, it's approximately ten
US dollars per month. Then there is more and
then a second tier or more advanced where provides you with some more
features and products. And I'll show you that as well. That's another
tool, $3 per month. So it's a rounded
that 13 or $14 per month for that at the
time of the recording. If we have a look here, we've got all these features
down here which you can use. And there's also
other features over here that we can also
utilize as well. So just depends on what level you have. So
let's just have a look. These are the tutorials
and you can go through and have a look at all those
tutorials with the products. You should go onto products. And if you have a
K word, let's say, we'll call it that
word search again, which were used in
published a rocket. And we just go to search. This will bring up a number
of different products that if you had a
particular keyword for that you could look at. And so you can look at all
the different details is book and the different keywords that these books
are ranking for. So I can scroll down, you can find out what
the base salaries and actually how they ranking
and how popular they are. You might get different ideas
for word search for kids. Grandma search book
that's doing very well. So you can see that there
are different things here that we're really going to help you
for that section. So you can go into different categories you can do under sketch books,
puzzle books, music sheets, whatever,
lot of different features, you can check that one as well. This is actually showing
you the average BSR, the price points, and the category that you'll
searching other as well. So that's under products, searching for different atoms. These really, really handy. Let's go to sell up. I can actually choose to
research a different way. I'll go and find a psychologist. He had a nine, so
we've got a fun after. Let's just say that these
are published in nine. Another feature really
lock is called Cloud. So you go into Cloud and you
actually do a search up. We'll go to, let's go
to, let's go to plan. Go to the top 200 planet books, reduces down to about there. And if we were to do a search, then it's like she
brings us up with a whole heap of books
that she can actually check out the key words for font at how these books
are actually tracking stuff. We went to this book here, everything into now when I'm gone and actually
do this just here. Then these slushy bring up way the bookies ranking
and hats traveling. It'll give you the the
process and with its being consistent and also give you the BSR and how that
is actually tracking. So there's a lot of really
good information here. You can click on here and that will actually
take you to the book. It'll also give you the
ISO number as well. So that is a feature
which you can scroll down on and thawed out what common elements,
some of these books, attacking forces went on, gone is quite a few
of these that's actually working on
September tenth, 2021 that was in there as well. So you can actually
see it's quite a few that a trekking very, very well in that category and found that an excellent
Y to be able to do that. Now the other thing
you can do is actually pick an ice
in the book scale. And it says that you've
got 25 lookups available, so we plug in a number so we might be checking out
some books and I'll go, well this one looks interesting, so I'll copy the ISO
number and I'll go back to publish a rocket or sorry,
I'll plug it in there. And it'll actually do a
search of the information. It'll bring up the description, the title, and the key words. And that is a really
important thing. It actually shows you. Where sometimes and
bring it up which ranking the search volume
for those keywords as well. So it's a great tool, will be able to find
at different books and no information
about them as well. Now you can favorite books. You can go to keywords as well. So if we do a
search of keywords, then if we did the word, word search for adults, will do a search on this one, white for it to come up. And it'll bring up all the different searches
and the search volume. So you can actually
filter this as well. Google search volume, a cost-per-click and
the competition. So I can actually go down
and have a look at that. And it also shows you the most frequently
used keywords and different products
which are irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant to
those actual keywords as well. That's the keywords,
TDP categories, which was at free
feature that you can use on book boat as well. And then there's also tidy spot, which is a watered down version of the one you can
actually purchase. Now that dies, elements
are available under the normal subscription and the other really important
elements which are like he's called
Book bolt designer. Book bolt design at
helps us to create really covers that aren't
going to be rejected. So if we just did a
seven by ten cava, for example, seven by ten watt pipe outlets
do it at a 100 pages. Does unless you generate the tape plight that Wayne
aid for that particular cava, which is saved me hours and hours of biotic
having to calculate it myself, we're using other tools,
provides us this. If we were to upload a book
cover up that we wanted, for example, to say
it was this one here. Then we would then get the pitch up strategy and we just drag it to the endpoints, drag it across, and
we locked into place so that you can
see the gray dots around the outside lines. Just want to make sure
it's on the area. Then we've got the back. Again. We would stretch it
down to the bottom, drag it across, brought there. Just need to bring
it across that. Let's make sure
it's on the line. And there we have air cover. What we would do, you just go to Download and it will
prepare it for us. It says Download. Then we download that document. It puts it into a PDF
format for us and I can tell that I haven't quite
stretch that enough. What I would do, I would
cancel that up here. I'd go back here. I would fix it so that I actually have it
in the right area, making sure that it covers
everything so you can actually move it a
little bit as well. Make sure it's all in the areas. It's probably best to get
a little bit either under downloaded the G9.
And we're download. And then it'll bring up the PDF version of what we
actually want, which is this. And it's all set to go for
when you uploaded kVp, you just simply
download it there. And he got the PDF version
which is perfectly ready to go for
uploading decay ADP. So it's another excellent
feature of book bulb. Now if you didn't want to, if he didn't have
an existing pitches and you wanted to
create your own cover. You can actually
do that as well. So you can add different words. You can create your own cover
using the software as well. That's another
really good feature that you might like to choose. You can do different colors. There's a whole heap
of different things. You can do drawings. You can add liars,
you can add a thick. If you wanted this to have
an effective distressing, then it'll add those features
on there for you as well. So there's a lot of different
things you can do as part of Book bulb and the
cover creation process. You may also like to use
different shapes which come up. So if it was, let's say this one here, and you can add all the
different features too. So it's another area
that you can have a play around with as part of Book
boat and what you want to do. And so you can actually have different things that happened
as part of your design. Now the faunal feature may not have gone through
these pretty quickly. There's a lot to book bulb, but you can actually
go if you have the high level subscription
for few modals, It's a bit 1314 US dollars
per month the guy to create. And this will bring
up extra things. So we go, we'll call
it got a puzzle. A puzzle widths
is a new feature. You can create. A is a whole heap of tutorials about how to create pseudocode, crossword puzzles, crypto grams, Hangman word search, word, scribble, mon Fonda, Christ. There's a heap of different
things you can do. And it'll run through all the areas and he's
tick the boxes and it creates it so quickly without you having to
why that doing anything. And it provides the
document ready to go. You can do crosswords, you can do those words
searches as well. There's a lot of
different things that you can you can do, sorry, follow one of the download
my last Document, then it'll actually
bring it up down here. You can, for example,
there's a word search, and it actually creates a word search with
all the letters. And then right down the bottom, it'll provide you with
all the answers as well. So you can actually see, you can go to the
answer section and it brings up all
of those features. That's an extra benefit
of puzzle wheeze with all these different IDs you can create for low content books. And it's just
fantastic opportunity to expand the y that you're scaling yourself
publishing business. If you were interested
in using book bulk to help scale yourself publishing, then all lays a document in the bonus section of this course with a link to
be able to get football.
37. Book Bolt Studio - Updated Lesson: Since I created that
initial book bolt tutorial, there has been an update
to the designer tool on how to create book covers
and even the interiors. So what I wanna
do in this lesson is just provide you with that update and how you can use the book bought Studio to
create your book covers. There are some new features and tools that are going
to be going through. So hopefully that'll help you
because the previous model, the East to use or the previous dashboard has
now been made redundant. So you can't use that anymore. So that's why I thought
it was important to provide you with this update. And therefore, you can
transition smoothly cross to that platform though
the book bulk studio within book bulk to
make your book covers. Let's get into that now. So to begin with, I'm going
to login to my account. As you can see, the core
products haven't really changed. You still got all the tutorials. The same dashboard appears
where you can do proc, search, seller search,
Cloud Search, book scout. All of these things
are included in that first tutorial
that are created. But what has changed is the ability to do
your book covers. So if we were to
quickly look through these the products which we have seen previously
on the other tutorial. As you can see, it's
all very similar. If we were to go to Cloud e.g. we can just go here. If we did. We'll do the notebook and
let's just do weddings. Let's just see what comes up. It'll still show you
all of the books. And you can still do all the same things that
you're doing previously. Remember, you can also
check the timeline of how these books have been performing so you
can hover over it. You can see the cells
rank this book, e.g. was launched September 1, and then it is now
ranked at 137,000. So you can check that out. And the pricing has remained the same and
consistent at $6.99. And you've also got the ice
and number off the top. So it stays a sign. And if I just go
back into products, some keywords, we can do the search there with everything that's going on. So all of that stays the same. But if we want to check out how to do the book
cover creation, that's the most important. So what you need to do
is stick up to the top, click your name and
go to book a studio. Now, I'll have to
login again just here. Actually, I don't
have to login before. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to start a
brand new project. Now I do have a book that I'm going to show
you the process. And this is a book that I
use for a course that's just a mock-up book that
I just think it will help you to explain
what's going on. So what I'm gonna do, I'm
going to go to this project. I'm going to start from scratch. So we go to New
Project. For this one. I'm just going to do
the paperback cover, but we could do
cover an interior. So that means you can actually upload your interior as well. So when saves, it saves
the cover as a PDF and the interior as a PDF so you can upload it straight
through to kVp. But let's just do the
paperback cover to begin with, to give you a bit
of an overview, let's call it Ali and tid. Adventure. Paperback. Yeah,
This book is a 8.5 by 8.5. So it's a square children's
picture storybook. It is actually premium
in color interior. Why did I ask that? Well, it can determine
the thickness, therefore the different
size dimensions of your paper back cover. So you just need to choose
what's appropriate for you on choosing premium
and it is 80 pages. So let's create project. What this will do is provide you with the
actual template. You can reduce the
template so you can say it or we can fight
it rot out for the moment. Let's just keep it
open like this. And what I now need to do is upload the Illustrate
or the covers. So I might have created
these somewhere else. All might have created
them on Canva or you might have created them on
different software platform. You just need to make
sure they're available in JPEG or PNG format. So I'm going to click there and I'm going to
upload the image. So I'd go to here, I'm going to go back a couple
and these are my files. So I'm going to do the front. I'm going to I'm going to cover. So just copy both. Open. And both of these should
open up in a second. Is the back cover. And there's the front cover. So what I now need
to do is I'll go back and let's just
do one at a time. So let's click this one. It'll appear in a moment, so it covers this area here. One thing you might like to do to create a background color, what they call the paper color. We'll do that in a moment. But what I suggest you do
is you need to stretch it. So it goes to the edges. And if it's already
on the edge there, you can just stretch
it down here. What you do need to be careful
of is that you don't have any writing that goes past this green line that
runs around here. That is the cutoff line. So make sure you do not
have any writing over that. Then we need to make
sure that the back cover doesn't cover the barcode
area just here as well. So what we're gonna do now
is go to the back cover, which is this one right here. It will. Hi there. So we're just
going to drag it across. And you can what they call
snappy can last snaps, snaps into place around these lines if you want
to unlock it to do that. So what I'm going to
now do is stretch it. And what we can do
is stretch it down. I want it to go all
the way to the end. The end. You just got to make sure the rotting gain is the
spine right down the middle. And I'm just going to
lift it up a little bit. Just so it's that little
fluoride green lawn there. He is, right on the border. This one won't need
to go a tiny bit higher because you
don't want to see it. Probably just a little bit. I can see the edge this tool. So it's best just to get
all these will be over. And you can see here
how I need to bring that close to the, to the edge. Now, I can bring this nice and close so I can get it
perfect if I want to. And the same with this one. I can bring this starts
right there and right there. See how now on the spot. Now what I need to do is bring these back and I need
to get the paper color. So if I go to, where is it? All? Go back again. I'm going to click here. That's the brush color. I'm just trying to
find the paper towel. What we might do is
move this across a bit. So let's go through
each of these. That is adding extra headings. So I'm going to go
to the drawing. And the paper color is
what's behind here. So you can see the
cover templates. So we're going to hide the
cupboard template now. The paper color, I want to be the sort of
orange, peachy color. So I get they call the pipette. And I'm going to push
that and I'm going to hold over the color that I
want and see when I did that, it now fills in the spine with the same
color as the same. And you can see how it
is appearing up here. So I want to get rid of
that around the border. And I can't see any nowadays. I think it all
appears to be fine. I'll do one last check with the writing to make sure that it's not going
over that green line. So you can see the green
line runs across the Ali, doesn't go past that green line. The same there. Now, that'll is good. What I need to, as I said, what I needed to make sure I do is get rid of the
cover templates. I've hidden the cover template or you can fade it right out. And I'm now going to
save this as a PDF, which is going to
be suitable for uploading to Amazon ADP. So I go to Project, I'm going to download
it as a CMYK, That's for
professional printing. So I'll pick download. Now it says cubed 278. Now they're just depends on the time of the day
that you do this. I sometimes get an
instinct instant, but there's obviously a lot of people doing this right now. So I'm going to pause this
until it downloads for me. Now. Since I've paused, it was maybe 30 s and it is now downloaded. So what I need to now do
is I can click on down, down here and I'll go and
show me the paperback. So let's have a look at
this, pay that back now. And see how if we look around, we might reduce
this a little bit. We've got the spine. So you can either have that in the sand color or
the blue color on. Quite happy for the
spine to be like that. And it is looking
really, really good. So that would be
the cover that I would use for Amazon kVp. So what I would do is go back
and I would just cut that. Or are you actually watch
you need to do because the CEO is in a
compressed version, you need to extract it. So I would normally just cut it and then go and paste it
in the fall that you want, which will then extract it. You can use it. So don't you can just use it
straight from here. Makes sure you
extract it or cut it and paste it in another file. So that's how you get your
paper back for the book bulk. Now if we were looking
at doing the interior, you can also do that. If we went to project and
we went to New Project, I could go I could
do a hardcover. But if I did a hardcover, there are only limits
on what the hardcovers. So I've got an 8.50, 0.5. But at this current time, amazon API doesn't provide me
with an 8.5 by 8.5 option. So that's where it becomes
a little bit tricky. Therefore, if you are
planning on creating a hardback book and only
putting it onto Amazon Katie p, then it is worthwhile
checking out these five different sizes. So then if it was a six by nine, you could do a paper
back in six by nine and then hard
back in six by nine. It's very easy to convert. But for me, I will have to use another platform like Ingram spark to upload my hair back. And then I can link
them on Amazon GDP. So that's the only challenge if you're doing a hardback
in a paperback and Erin, okay, they pay does not
permit the size for you. So we're not going to do
the hard back in for this. But what I will do
is do the cover. Any interior. We doing
these books bleed. We're doing a premium color. So let's let's do paperback
and interior. It's correct. The project. Notice how it's now
got pages here. And I can upload my pages from a PDF are created
in Canva if I wanted to, sort of defeats the purpose
because I've already created my if I go back, let me go back into the file. So just jumped on now, so
if I got a paper back, I've already created
the PDF version already for the
interior in Canva. So if I go back here, I've already created that. Wouldn't need to use book bolt. But if you had individual pages that you wanted to
create into an anterior, then you would click here, and then you would simply
upload the picture. So you would upload image. And then you could say, I could upload the whole
PDF file if I wanted to. So I would choose the
PDF and I would go to the paperback and
I would do this one. And I'll open that one. And then it will give
me the options here. So is it a paperback interior
or a hardcover interior? So I'm going to choose,
once it uploads, I'm going to choose the
paperback interior. So we'll just wait
for this to upload. And it tells me
there's 38 pages. Select paperback,
interior and bleed. Because it means
that the pitches extending all the
way to the end. And I submit. Now what this will do is
extract and load up all of these pages and even create a sub folder
for it to sit in. So it's nice and easy two. So I will wait for this
to extract all the pages. And this is almost done. Now extracting, it's
cutting the margins. And this will be ready in
probably 60 s or less. And then a final thing it does
is it's extracting these, just saving the files. So this will usually take around about 15 s or thereabouts. Then it extracts
them all for me. So what I can then do
is fire closest down. If I go to cover, before I go there, I can do the cover which
I've just done before. But if I wanted to add
the interior pages, I would then click here, click on the actual page,
click on the picture. Then I go to the subfolder, which is then got them all. If I went to page one, then that would put it up there. And I can move this around. If I go to I got a K, just wait for it to Auto
Save and save here. And then what I need to do
is go to page number two, which is just here. And I click on that one
and I'll go there again, the subfolder, and I'll
click on page number two. And then that brings
up that one as well. So we wait for that to save. Just going to have it
on sourdough save. What you do is just keep
adding all these along. Not sure why that
didn't save just there. Let's try it again. I'll go to the pitcher because the subfolder this
is page number two. I believe it is. And
then we just save it. And you'll see it come up there. Yeah. Page number one, was the sign click
on that sub-folder. That's page number one. Actually, page
number one is that one might have an error there. I need to make sure that
I get them in order. And that is how you can do that. And then you save it. And that will go on there. So if I wanted to, I could extend it all the
way to the edges. And then that will
automatically save. So if we save it, just make
sure you keep saving it. And you keep adding your
pitches all the way through or your manuscript all the way through until you've
had it all done, you can save the project. So that's how you
can do that method of doing a paperback
and the interiors. I might be my preference is to use it for the paperback
and the hardback covers. But I can see why
it's going to be so good to use for the
interiors as well. But if we go back to
the different projects, so if I go to my projects, it'll save them here. So let's just go back
to the paperback and we can change
things around it just so you didn't have your illustrations already there or your pitches already there. You can add, You are
different headings. You can do different
shapes, you can add it. If we didn't have
these here at all. We wanted to add our own title. Then we can, we can do that. We can add the different
shapes we want to. It's a little bit more clunky, but are fine to do it. I prefer to use Canva
for my cover designs. But that's not to say
that if you wanted to, you could do a great job with doing all the different options. We've booked books Studio, which is now offering
all these features. So let's get out of
here and I'll finish up by canceling all
this information here. Let's go back. And I
don't want to say this, so we're going to go
back and do it all, which you can do it this
way and then I can save it. So I've got that still there. We have a quick look here. You can, if you right-click, you've got different
options here as well on your mouse that
she can duplicate it. You can bring pitches
to the front. If we go to the page, you can export
different things in, edit these different settings, deacon lock in, and you
can go to the keyboard. There are many, many
different features that she can use on
book bolt Studio, so I'll recommend you have
a play around with it. But what I love is that you will create that
template for you based on your calculations of your book with the size
and the page numbers, it'll give you the template. You can then create it here. They can then add
different special effects. You can adjust the images, you can change that background
color if you want to, just make sure you get rid
of the template in the end. But that's a quick little rap or quick little look
at book bolt studio. It is gonna be a
fantastic feature that you can use for the
creation of your book covers. And knowing that you're not
gonna get rejections as well. When you send through
to Amazon API, which I've faced initially
to as you can see, the main portion of book bolt, we do a word search,
ice, and research. All that remains pretty similar. It's the book bolt studio with the cover design
that has changed. So hopefully this
updated lesson will help you to navigate your
way through book bolt. If you choose that
software to help you with your cover creation
and formatting.
38. Lesson 26 - Ingram Spark Tutorial: Now this might be the
first time you've been introduced to these platforms
called Ingram spark years. It's not to do with
kVp or Amazon, but it is another
global distributor of books that you can use to distribute your
low content books. When I say low content, they do have a integrity unit that will check the quality of your books when
you load them up. This advantages and disadvantages
of using room spark. But I've had some
great success with my low content books that are low content Books needs
to be high-quality books. I'm leaving this little at a time and effort into
creating the county's be blank journals or
no content books. That needs to be low
content at a minimum. But some of them, I'll show you, some of them are results
from using Ingram Spock. But it's important to note that when you do load your
books to Ingram spark, the ease of fee of $49. But they often provide
discount codes that you can use that will waive
that upload costs. But let me just show you a
little bit about the platform. So when you jump,
when you get onto Ingram Spock and you
want to add a title, you cannot, you can
actually add a books, print books only, or a book. So if you were to go
through the process of a print book currently and
you've got all your files, then you just go
through the process of this and you want print, distribute, and
to sell globally. And within RAM spark, they go to a lot of
bricks-and-mortar stores and other
online stores as well. And you go through a
similar process to Cady pay when you
are plotting in Book and you do the title, you do have to have what
they call an eyes begin. Now, that is the books identification
number and Caddy pay, provide free ESPN's,
but we've Ingram Spark, you need to actually
purchase an ISBN. You can get them in bulk. I'll give you purchased a 100. They are gonna be worked
out to be about $4 each. But if you put in, if you're
getting one at the time, it works out to be
about $40 each. So it can be quite different. Anyway, you've got all
these details that you can add as you go through. Anyway. That's just another option, but I want to show
you my results from England and why
you should consider it. At another stage if you
wish to scale yourself publishing business and
some among the Reports tab. And you can do your
print sales report. And I'm going to do from, let's do, let's do the
last three periods. We're gonna say you've
got your books to share in the UK and
Australia and the US. We're gonna choose
us, US dollar. And we're getting
print on-demand. And we're going to just
screen display it. And if we scroll down, these are the number
of books off sold. 892 books in two thousand seven hundred and eighty two thousand and two hundred and
seventy eight dollars and ninety six cents. That's why I locked
the platform. I don't have to do
any advertising. Die do it all for you. Once you load the book up, then I take care
of all the work, all the distribution is just a percentage that you
allocate towards you book. That's just over three months that I've been auto-generate
that much money. The overall income was 4,423, but 2279 royalties after they type their
percentage cut from it. If you wanted to look into
the options of Ingram Spock, then just go to
in-group spark.com, just Google and it'll
come up as an option. But I won't go into too much
detail other than decided. It's been an excellent
platform for me to be able to create
additional income and disc style my publishing ads on Amazon and provide an
extra string of income, which is important to
ensure that you have diversification without any sort of
business that you're doing.
39. UPDATE - Free IngramSpark Upload - May 2023 : The great advantage
that we now have with Ingram Spark is the $49
fee has now been wavered. Previously, you
had to pay $49 to upload a printer
enabled a print book only and $25 for a book only. This now provides a
fantastic opportunity for anyone that may have
published a book to Amazon Katie pay, but Urbain restricted
because of the price. Now one of the main
things that you need to consider is that if you
need to make a change, the fee of $25 will be waived
for the thirst 60 days. So if you published a book
on the 1st of January, as long as by the
end of February, you've made that change, then it'll be free. But after that period of time, you will need to
pay that $20 fee. So make sure that you check out all the information
about the pricing. If you just go to
the Ingram Spark website and get a pricing, this will then bring up
this information just here. And you can click on Publish. Now, if you don't have
an account or you can login to your account and
get started immediately. The main cost now
will be the ISBN, and I'll be covering that
off in a future lesson.
40. Lesson 27 - KDSPY Tutorial : Welcome to this lecture
in regards to kinase by another software platform
that all of you is to really accelerate and
scale muscle publishing. Now, it's not a compulsory tool, but any tool that
I find that will cite time almost
save money as well. I like to invest in. And kinase by is a software which you just purchased
once off and it has loft on. Do you have a loss
of PTEN access to it and regular updates to continue to improve its functionality of what
Katie Spark and offer. So all you need to do
is go to Katie spot.com and that will actually take you are receiving here.
If we go back here. And Katie spiral actually
take you to this and then if you want to login,
you can go that way. If you want to purchase
a beer and also provide, I'll provide the link to think as she provides
potentially discount, lay those links for you in the bonus section
of this course. But if you already have it, then what you need to do is you download the
Chrome extension, and that'll give you
this little figure here. Well, this Jesse up
your coat on that. That'll actually take you
directly to the books. Now we're going to
change the address here. We've got a US rather
than Australia one. Now that this is actually a last when we do our book research,
it will change in a moment. But I'm gonna show you
some of the tools or some of the functionalities of Katie's poll and how it works. If we were doing this,
a couple of things. We can look at, use
it for categories, or we can look
good for keywords. So let's look at for
keywords to begin with. If we were to excite dr dot, coloring book, will a
few things come up here? Let's do this one. So if this was what
we're looking for, we're gonna go to books
and we do a search. And this will bring us
to a page that will include the keyword information which we've covered
in the course. And you can scroll
down and this will give us what we call
our biggest ours. Now, if we wanted to get all
this information captured together in one
quick viewing point, then what we would do, we
click on Katie spot up here. Then this will actually bring us all the information about all these books that
appear on this page. Now at the moment chime
in results of one to 20, and it gives us an average
sales rank of 33,676. Good average monthly
revenue, good price point. And it gives us this
information here. Now what we want you to do, if we wanted to find out pollyannaish
research is to try and get books under around about
a 520,000 thousand BSR. Let the mind, and this has
already given us 33 thousand. But we can get rid of
different books as well. So we need to have a
look through to see if there's any books that and connected with
those keywords and they all seem to be
books connected with it. Now what we can do is these are the keyword results
showing us right now. We can also do a
keyword analysis. Now, the keyword
analysis will tell us whether the mind
keywords that we've talked in up here actually
appear in the title. This one that says yes, but the others appear
not to include it. The other thing it can do is give us what we
call our word cloud. These are the most
popular words that appear in the title of subtotals
of these books. We've got them here. And if
we wanted to export these, so this is showing you the
top five we can actually get. Additional side is
showing top 5892. When we export this
like she take us to XLS spreadsheet and
that'll actually bring us all the other information, all the other keywords as well, and health to an IPO. So there we go all the way
down, let that as well. So we'll get rid of that. We'll get back to
Katie's follow as well. That's that top area there. But kinase spy gives us some other information
which is important too. So let's make our way down here. This will give us the
information about the estimated monthly review
of the monthly revenue, the reviews, the book
head, and the sales rank. If we wanted to
check out this book, we would click on just there. That will take us
directly to the book. And we can actually say
all information about it. So we can scroll down and we can do a bit more
in-depth research. We can find out about
the description. We can have a look about
the details of the book, what size it is, where it's ranking the
current customer reviews. And we can also have a
look at how it's actually tracking in regards to the
reviews and one improvements, we can particularly potentially
mic on that as well. So let's go back again. To where we were before, which was just what
we now going to do is we're going to look at what these different
ones being here. So if we were to
click on the ACE, that will actually
take us to Google. And we can actually
do a Google search to find out where these
bookies actually appearing. It's appearing on
a bay fish pond. A vital economy, for example, actually shows you where
else it's appearing on Book, Depository bonds and Noble. She shows us all
the information. We can go into a bit
more information and details with that. The other things we can do, we can look at the cover. The C stands for cover. So where is the cover appearing? Again? It goes into this. It doesn't actually match
that, so that's okay. We can go back out of that
again. We can go back. But if there was a book, so let's go to this one here. If we see on this one, Let's see if this brings us
up with some information. This will bring us up
with all the images of where it's appearing. And we can actually find
out it's on Amazon there. But there might be other
places you can find this book and how it's
actually working with you. What's going back again? We've got the, um, my new information
about the book. And we can also go down here and we can export
all this information. You can pick a region so you don't always have to
have it in the USA. You can go to the UK, stria, you can go Canada, you can go any of these
other marketplaces as well to do the searching
we're doing now, the other thing you can do is fond at the popularity
and the competition. So this is a popular keyword, a number of books
here performing well. It's got a lot of potential. However, the competition
is quite fees and strong. So you can see a lot of these books are
attracting really well. If we would extend this, let's go to results up to 60. Now this will adjust for us and this will give
us a better idea about how many of the books in the top 60 are
actually tracking. And remember, we can also
like different books. We can have a look, we can
eliminate some as well. So these ones here that goes 0, sales rank, so we
get rid of values. And again, it's showing us
some very good results. So it's got a lot of
information here. Now the reason I lock it is
because if you're wanting to do your niche research and
get an average sales rank, you would have to then add
up that one, that one, all of these different
phases and find out. I do an average, would it just saves you a
significant amount of Tom. And Tom sizing is something that you want to help
sky or self-publishing, then that's something
that I think you should definitely
look into as well. And kinase by again, it's it's under a
100 US dollars. And so one-off payment that you can make to
gain access to it. Remember, I'll
provide the link in the tools to scale document, which is, which can be
found in the bonus lecture, which is part of these courses. Well, hopefully you
found that helpful in regards to the use
of kinase bar.
41. Lesson 28 - The 'Look-Inside' Feature: Welcome to this next lesson. This one is a bad expanding
the opportunities for your marketing by the
look inside feature, the cardiac pay off around. Now when you have your
book and it goes live, you can sometimes take up
to ten days for the look inside feature to
become visible. Now if beyond ten days
painting business days, that is, your book, doesn't have to look
inside feature enabled, then are definitely
encourage you to contact customer service. But before that time, they'll always get back
to you and say heavy, Why did the ten business
days. So please do that. Now I'm going to go into
the video to explain what the look inside
feature is and how you can actually increase it to IT percent of your look
inside. Let's do that now. Just say that you've come
onto Amazon and you are a customer and you're
wanting to find out a bit more about
a certain book. Let me choose a book, let us
call it blood pressure book. And we do a search
on this topic. There were just
use this one here. What we're aiming to do
is to find out where, again, we're putting ourselves
in the customer's shoes. And we're thinking
we want to look for logbook that meets and
addresses all of their needs. Go scroll down here
and we might fine, i, i, blood pressure look book, but society it is
this one just here. We click on this
book. Here we go into the book and it will show us
that look inside feature. Now the look inside
feature is really important for US authors because it's a window into what
your book is all about. And it will give your customer
a bit of an insight into what the qualities of your book and customers
won't always by, by what they see on the cover. And I want to say a little
bit more now with the look inside feature when you do
larger book decayed API, we're looking inside can take between seven to ten
days for it to appear. And that can be quite
frustrating because, you know, it's a key feature for customers to be
purchasing your book. Even though there are a
lot of customers that do purchase on mobile devices. But I still say the importance, particularly when
you're advertising, if you're using advertising to have a look inside
feature enabled, what we would do as a customer, we go right, Let's have a
bit of a look inside here. When your book goes to Amazon, kVp, it is automatically
listed at 10% of what you. It gives you 10% to look inside
the book for a customer. But there is a y, we can increase this. So for example, this book, if we have a look
at the front pi, so it's got 123456 and
cite the bagpipes, So six, so we're looking at
about 70 pages, possibly. That customer guy, Kai, look, it's got most things, but just say you had
more content to show off and you didn't want to
just show the first 10%, but you think that might be 20%, could be a good way of showing more audiobook
to customers. So if we look here, it is 61 pi, just so
therefore ten per cent. But there might be a few of
you are quite a few of you that realizes or the don't realize that you can actually
show more of your book. It can go up to
increments of 10%. So you can show 102030, 40%, I think even up to
70% is the maximum. You can actually show you a look inside feature on
some of my books. I've actually got it up to
about 30% because I know that I continue to
look through it and look inside feature and they
seek some great things. They will absolutely
purchase that book. Let me show you how we do that. What we need to do is go to our ADP account and
you would go just, we'll use this one for example, it's a composition notebook. It is blank line journal, so it is just for
illustration purposes because there's no need to say anymore than 10% in a
blank line journal. But if it's a low
content book and you want customers to
say more inside it. This is the prices
will step to tank. You would cut, you'd cut
your copy it, sorry. Copy your ice and number. You will then scroll up
to where it says help. You go to that. Then once it loads up, you then go all the way
down to Contact Us. Then once that is enabled, Let's just contact them. There is another option that
we need to choose from. So I'm just wanting for
it to load up for me. Apologize for the delay. Still learning what
we would then do. You go to Amazon store
and product page. We go down to look inside
the book and it says here, pipe backs type between nine to ten business days for the look inside
feature to be enabled. But if we go send an email, we can actually show further. So it's got paperbacks
can construct she tend to ID percent and ten to two
in increments of 10%. So what we would do if we want
to say increase it to 30%, you would simply just
do your heating. So I say, dear customer service. Please increase the total 30% for the look inside feature. And all I need to get
my spelling done. Then you add the ice and
you do the ISO number. And so on off. And then you would go down
here and just go send message. Therefore, that will
get back to you in about 24 hours and they
would've increased, you're looking solid
feature to 30%. That is an excellent
way of showing more. We book to more customers and it shows off
more of the content. And look, some of you might be worried that other
people might be stealing your ideas,
but look, bonded. I just focus on the customer. I don't worry about what
other people are doing if they're into
copying content will. That's a short-term gain on all about a long-term picture in parliament are publishing. If someone was to do an infringing copyright and absolutely pursue
that through Amazon. But the path that we're
taking as authors to look at the customer's perspective
and not why they're outside noise and distraction.
There you have it. There's a little hack for you
if you weren't aware of it, the look inside feature
so important for us, increase it if you feel it's gonna be suitable
for your book. Don't do it for
no content books. Just do it for low
content books where you want them to say a few
more pages of your book.
42. The 'Look Inside' Feature - KDP Update: I wanted to provide you
with a recent update regarding Amazon ADP and
the look inside feature. Now there was also an update
regarding the ISBN for the distribution for what k p
consider low content books. However, there are
a bit vague in the way they described
what LoadContent books are interpreted is it includes no content books and some
forms of low content books. So a low content
book that Amazon of classing it would be ones where there's little or no content. Think of your journals or scrapbooks or sketch
books, things like that. So when Amazon, we're bringing out this
announcement nicely, they wouldn't be allocating a free ISBN to these
kinds of books. But remember, it doesn't include
more comprehensive book, soccer, Children's illustrated
picture storybook. That is still causes a
low content but not under classification that
wouldn't permit you to get a free ISBN. Now, with those books, the no content and knows, low content books that
don't have much content. You don't get the free ISBN, but you also don't get
the look inside feature. The look inside feature
will now be reserved for those more comprehensive
low content books and high content books as well. Now, I LoadContent book where you'd receive a free ISBN
and look inside feature, would still be coloring
books as well. So you just got to be
careful with the kind of books that you are
creating if you still wanted to
take advantage of the free ISBN and
then look inside. If you wanted to purchase
your own ISBN for a no content book or a low content book where Amazon won't provide the free ISBN. You can purchase
them through groups like BellKor.com in America, Neilson.com or dot code dot
UK in the United Kingdom. Thorpe Barker in Australia. But just remember
to check regarding your country or your
country of origin. A legitimate ice
being distributed, distributed in most
countries usually have just one mainstream
ISP and distributors. And the cost can be
anywhere individually, from around about 70 to 80
wave and 90 US dollars, but it is better to buy IS beans in bulk if that's what
you're looking at doing, make sure you investigate that. So that was the update
regarding a look inside feature and the ISP
DNS for Amazon kVp, there may be more
changes to come as Amazon start to look
at ways to stop people doing bulk uploads or trying to
manipulate the system. So just make sure you focus
on quality and stick to the terms of
business outlined by Amazon as well to
protect your account. So I hope that helps you with your publishing
with Amazon, kVp. And good luck.
43. Email Marketing to Build an Audience: In this lesson, I
want to introduce you to a new course of created, and that's a bad
email marketing. Email marketing is a fantastic
way to be able to boost your book styles because you're developing a subscriber base. Now a subscribe advice
will give you a number of e-mail options as well to be able to communicate
to your customers. And therefore,
they are to get or direct your traffic to
more of your books. Now the e-mail
marketing platform that our talk about is using
convert kit and convert key. It goes really well with being able to develop
the platform that you can use QR codes and links back to your
author central page, back to your book library. And therefore, this course will teach you
everything that you need to know in regards to
that building, that audience. What I'll do is I'll leave some information
about the contents of the course after this. Therefore, if it is of interest, you can check that course
app after this one. So these are some
of the sections we'll be covering in the course. We're looking at
building an audience. So why build an email list? How do we build the e-mail list? We're looking at
creating a lead magnet so we cannot identify
what are laid manganese and how do
we actually create that building an email system? What do we need to do
to create that system? And then automated ON going to then introduce
you to convert it. That's the platform that
we'll be using to create a really easy system that will
help automate our process. All in, run you through
the four main steps to create a system that includes creation
or the lead magnet. Creating our e-mail
sync sequence, placing the late night in
the manuscript had to create a late night that link and
then more importantly, places to build an audience. So where and how to build it. And creating one-off
broadcasts that covers some of the key areas that we can be looking
at for this course, I look forward to teaching you the steps using convert kit to build your brand, to build your audience, and ultimately to
sell more books.
44. Lesson 29 - The Importance of Diversification When Publishing: Welcome to this lesson. The purpose will be talking you through some
of the steps that I've taken to scale
myself publishing, but also making sure that
I'm diversifying as well because as good as it is to have an income
coming through kd API, it's also as important to have diversification in the way
that you receive income. And so what I'm wanting to emphasize is you
shouldn't always just rely on the one
income source when you publishing because anything
can happen at anytime. And it could be that Amazon changed their terms of
business or terms of service at mod have an impact on your ability
to generate an income. At the moment, it's free to
be able to upload your books. But they might bring in
something where it says it's five or $10 to
upload your books. Or they might say, well, instead of getting a free ISBN, you've got to maybe pi five or $10 for
that element as well. There are different things that can be implemented at anytime. And what I've learned
over the journey that you need to make
sure that you're always protecting
your income sources. And my income is diversified across a
number of different areas. Yes, cardiac pain makes up a
big proportion of my income. But I also spread that through having inc
income coming through. Ingram Spark, which is another distribution and global distribution book provider. There's also income
that comes through other platforms where I
can load my books up into. Previously when I
was doing today pay by before low and
high content books. I was doing high content
books, non-fiction books, and that allowed me to do audio books and e-books as well. And so there are
other sources of income and you can get
in and you can also set up different shops
bought GMB road or Etsy, where you can use those
platforms or digital products. You might want to make some
of those things as well. I just wanted to
make sure that when you are considering
scaling your business, there are lots of
different opportunities present themselves. I've worked in collaboration
with a number of different people to create books that they use
for their businesses. For example, I've got a
friend who created a book for hazy and the
triathlon industry and he's a magic
coach with many, many athletes and I'll create
it or help create for him, I journal for his athletes that could contract the
training and schedule. And they competition threat the threat of weeks and
throughout the year. And so they're the kind of
things that you can think about once you develop that
knowledge of self-publishing. These nice stopping
the opportunities that can present themselves
in regards to that. I also have a YouTube channel, is otherwise that I can
use my skills and things that help me to diversify along with the
core site, this one. Once you get the information
and the knowledge, they can use that to
your advantage to create otherwise of
developing income. So you should
hopefully get to idle 910 different income
sources that are coming in. And I just wanted to ensure that you do protect
yourself from regards to those revenue streams because I'd hate
to see you invest so much time into your publishing for different
conditions to change. And you've put
everything into it and you don't have the outcome
which you're expecting. Some changes by near to happen, but we need to protect ourselves for the
longer-term game. That's why I always emphasize the importance of
that diversification. So I just wanted to give you this information and knowledge
and from my experiences. And I do hope that you've
enjoyed this element. It's a bit more relaxed and
laid back, listen this one, but I do hope you've
enjoyed it and it's giving you a bit
more of an insight into mama and sit and the white dog approach myself
publishing as well. Not just we can't API, but with other
platforms as well.
45. KDP Course Summary: Well, welcome to the
final section of the chordae pay now and low
content publishing tutorial. There are some key things
that we're going to cover as part of our summary. It's important to you get
your notebook out and write down the key points
that we're going to cover as part of
this final summary. Let's get into that now. There's some key things
that I'd like to cover. Firstly, when you're
creating new books, it's important that
you think about the quality of delivery
to the customer. A lot of people that get
caught up in regards to quantity and trying to get so many books loaded
up on the page. And that can be a major issue because you lose focus on those key elements
of the quality. When you're delivering
books and K areas, you'll need to work on, obviously making a great cover. And if you need to add
source that cover, then you can do that as well. You can learn the skills
to create it yourself. You can use a free software, but remember you can
also upgrade that to Pro versions of say, canva.com. You need to work harder on your descriptions because
they are the key, that's the key area that when a customer clicks on your book, that I want to say exactly that it's going to
solve the problem. Making sure that
description is well formatted and you had
that element, right? One of the areas
that I had an issue challenges with was ensuring that the dimensions and the formatting of the
book were correct, too low to Amazon or ketone
getting a lot of errors. So make sure you go back to
the module in regards to cover creation or the
formatting of the manuscripts. To ensure that you actually can upload the boot
your book correctly. You don't get any error messages because the error messages that they provide don't garden
with a great deal of data, so it can somewhat
be frustrating. The next area is, don't always think
that you're gonna get organic styles just bought putting books up
onto cardiac pain. Remember there's about
40 million plus books on cardiac pain. So you need to get your book. So it's actually
saying by customers. And that can be a challenge for people to think well
of creating the book. People are just going to buy it. But unless you actually
get your book in front of people and I can see your
book and click on the cover, go through the description. Then you're going to be limiting yourself from the numbers
styles you can get. When you create your book. That's a bad. The 50% mark, the next 50% is actually
marketing the book. So you can actually get
those styles happening. And so that could be through
Amazon ads and using that or the other
social media platforms to really market your book. Finally, just slow down and get the quality
Rod My mistake. One of the key mistakes
on my when I was first doing it was that I might
rush a few elements. Then I would probably get market a couple of
bad customer reviews. And they might be the
grammatical areas in the manuscript which
may not have to go back and have to re-do
the manuscript uploaded. And it would just
take so much time. And if I had slowed
down a little bit, it could ignite a world of difference and I'll
get better reviews. Therefore, the bookmarked
sell a lot better. There are a couple of the
key things that you need to keep in mind when you're
creating your books. And remember, always invest in your knowledge and your skills and also any software that
might be able to help. And I'm going to provide
a bonus lesson night. Sure you watch that
lesson in regards to the tools that
are used to scale my self publishing
business to be selling well over 20
thousand books per year. They might be different
things that you multiply to implement into your own cardiac pay
publishing that could help you scale your
publishing business as well. Thank you very much for joining this tutorial on
cardiac pay publishing. If you are happy with the content of
delivered that are greatly appreciate a review
and that helps grow the more tutorials and the content that on helping in regards to this
course creations. So make sure you
go back and watch any modules that you need
to get clarity on a G9. And really happy to be able
to provide this information. Shame on skills and
my knowledge and also the errors and mistakes might be able to get to where
I am right now. So thanks again,
and I wish you all the very best for your kVp
self-publishing journey.

tricks to be able to create your own children's
picture storybook. Now I've created a number of children's books
myself, and therefore, I want to lean on
that experience to teach you what you need to know to be able to
load those books up onto platforms like Amazon, kVp, and Ingram Spark. During the course, I'll be showing you how to create
boxes like this one. Maybe you bought
similar to this one. But I'm going to go
through the process that I take to
create these books. So let's get into the content of this course so I can show you everything that you're
going to be learning. So let's run through the different things that
we're gonna be covering and the different steps
that you need to do to create your own children's
picture storybook. Now the course is split up
into eight different sections. Firstly, we're going to be
covering the journey ahead. So what is your purpose for creating your children's
picture storybook? And also cover the five
keys to writing Success. Section two will be
creating your framework. So that will involve the book research,
creating your manuscripts. Section number three,
your title and subtitle. So what are the
things to consider? And making sure you're using the right keywords in
your title and subtitle. So your book can be found section number for the
format and the structure. So we're looking at designing your book and what
that's gonna look like. And the type of
book two, correct. Is it a hard book? Is The paperback
isn't an e-book, is it a combination of all three section number
five of the design? So we're talking
everything designed, bringing together the
elements for our book, making sure we get
the illustrations. Do we outsource for
illustration work? Do we do it S cells? If so, where can we
find those images? Section number six is
the upload process. Now if you don't already
have an Amazon account, I'll show you how to create one. Next is how to upload your
book correctly to Amazon, kVp, and another platform

global distribution channel that you can use for your books. Then we're looking at a
marketing and advertising. Now, marketing and advertising
are two different things. And I'll show you what they are. And we're going to look
and identify ways we can advertise a book and ways
we can market ebook. And number eight
