of working from home, the blurring of lines between
work and personal life. Without the clear boundaries of a traditional

2. The Home Office Setup: If you want to achieve
some serious productivity, you gotta have a personalized
spot dedicated for work. Not only will it keep those
pesky distractions at bay, but also train your brain
to get into the zone. When you sit down. Picture this, you're on a
video call with your boss looking like you
just rolled out of bed and into a pile of laundry. Not a good look. But fear, not a dedicated
workspace is here to save today and give you that
professional edge unit. So we'll have designated space. You can create an image
of someone who's got their act together
and means business. So let's get cracking and make ourselves a productivity power. You can start by choosing
the right workspace. Ideally, this should be a separate room or a
designated area in your home. At the basic level,
the first thing to keep in mind is that
comfort is king. So choose a chair that doesn't make you feel
like you're sitting on a medieval torture
device and a desk that gives you space for your
computer and accessories. This will promote good
posture and ergonomics. This can help you avoid physical
strength and discomfort, which is known to lead to fatigue and decreased
productivity. Here's choose furniture and
equipment that makes you feel like you're working
in a grant CEO office, even if you're just
working in your bedroom. Next, make sure
your workspace has adequate lighting so you
don't accidentally send a personal email to your boss instead of your best friend. Keep your workspace organized
and clutter-free so you don't lose important documents under a pile of snack wrappers. And finally, surround
yourself with inspiration. That means adding
photos of loved ones, but not the ones
from stress you out. And no post photos, some motivational quotes,
but nothing to achieving. Make it simple, like
a cut hanging on a branch or a belief poster, or even some funky art work. Trust me, when you're
surrounded with positive vibes, Luby unstoppable, with a little bit of humor and some smart choices
you can create. A poem offers still make even
the most demanding boss, green with m. Now that
your office is set up, I bet you are eager to
start crossing off work. But before you dive into what we need to address
the elephant in the room, those pesky time
oysters that are just waiting to attack
you and waste your time. Let's bring them to your
attention in the next lesson.
3. 3 Biggest Time Wasters: It's time to shine a light on those sneaky productivity
thieves that are lurking around
your home office like mischievous little goblins. They're just waiting to
pounce on you and distract you from your work with
their devilish tactics. But fear not whereabout to
unmask the three biggest time waster so that you can overcome them and develop
your focus powers. First, we have the black
hole of productivity. And of course, I am referring to social media and its digital
gang of distractions, like strong temptations
for you to do everything else and forget your
responsibilities. You need to make a
serious decision and set some boundaries to work. Now one way to avoid going down the rabbit hole of
endless YouTube videos and social media
posts is to step one, scheduled specific
times for you to check these notifications and
your social media posts. And limit yourself to only
check them during those times. You'll feel like a
boss when you take control of the digital life. Next, we have multitasking. I know it seems like a genius idea to juggle a
bunch of tasks at once, like a circus performer. But let me tell
you, it's a truck. Before you know it, you'll
be dropping marbles than a clumsy Cloud and your productivity will
go down the drain. So let's focus on
one thing at a time. Giving it that tension deserves your sanity
will thank you for it. Thirdly, there is a
lack of structure. You see working from home is like being a kid
in a candy store. There's so many temptations.
But let me tell you. Too much of a good
thing can turn into a bad thing real quick. Without some structure
and routine, you're like a boat
without a paddle, drifting aimlessly into
unsee of distractions. You'll be jumping
around your tasks and never really completing
anything properly. While your to-do list
just keeps on growing, you'll need to work on an
ideal routine for your day. It will keep you productive and saying your future productive
self will thank you for it. Now that you know
the challenges, I would say the three
biggest challenges of home office productivity. In the next lesson, I
want to start focusing on the strategies
that will help you become the master of
your home office domain.
4. Strategies for Home Office Success: Hey there
work-from-home warrior. This section is by showing new strategies for home
office productivity. Some are simple. Sam, take more effort to apply. But because work from poem
offers so much freedom, you get to relaxed and have trouble reaching your
ideal working zone. That's why sometimes the
smallest tweak in your habits may boost your productivity.
So let's start. If you want to maintain
some sanity in your life, it's crucial to set
specific work hours. Don't worry, I'm
not here to cramp your style or anything,
but hear me out. If you want to keep your
work from home life, from turning into
a chaotic mess, dense time to a site-specific
work hours and beat, create a routine
around these hours. Trusting having a
set schedule will keep you from
accidentally scheduling a Zoom meeting during your morning shower
or forgetting to eat lunch until 03:00 P.M.
with a SET work schedule, you won't have to play
the worst Waldo game with your colleagues or clients trying to figure out
when you're available. Let them know your work
hours so they don't accidentally call you during
your favorite Netflix show. By setting specific workout, you can ensure that you are
dedicated enough time to work without letting it spill
over into personal time. And setting specific
workout is like building a wall between your
work and personal life. It's like saying, Hey work,
you stay on your site. I'll stay on mine. Now let's explore the secret
art of taking breaks. Take regular breaks
is essential to maintaining productivity
and avoiding burnout. However, there is a
tendency to think like this as I'm
already working. Just do this one more thing
and then take a break. 3 h later, your productivity has been drained
and your work rate has slowed down to a stop and you still
haven't taken that break. You should be scheduling
breaks throughout the day. You don't want to turn
your day into 5 h of sitting in front of
a computer motionless. If you're working and have an endless supply of
work coming your way, then it's probably a matter of time before you get insane. Make a conscious
effort to rest and relax by taking breaks
from time-to-time. Plan to take short
breaks every 60 to 90 min to rest and
recharge your energy. One idea is to set a
timer to remind yourself, take breaks and then
stick to your schedule. Even if it's just
five to 15 min. That break away from your
work helps your mind. One suggestion, if
you want to avoid turning into a human
sheet pancake. If you're going to use
those breaks to get up and shake your
body, take a walk, do some stretching or bust
out a quick workout routine to get those endorphins
flowing and clear your brain. Absolutely. Avoid eating at your desk. This will not offer
you a maximum recharge of your productive powers. Your body and mind
will thank you later. So get up, Get moving, and get your muscles active.
5. How to Prioritize like a Pro: If you don't want
to drown in a sea of deadlines and
unfinished work, you better sharpen your
prioritizing skills. These skills are
like a life raft. You need to stay afloat. And here are some
strategies that will help you to prioritize,
like a pro. Step one, freak out and identify the tasks that need
to be done yesterday. Step to take into
account the amount of sweat and maybe tears
required for each task. Prioritize the tasks
that are the toughest to complete and require
the most attention. Get this done first before moving over to the
easiest tasks. There is a natural bad
habit where people tend to get started
with EV tasks. First. The problem here is
that even if you're doing these small
and simple tasks at the back of your mind, you will always be thinking, what am I going to do
about top priority task x? So make sure that when you are choosing the
task to do first, you're always starting
with the toughest task. First, let's move up and
let me ask you a question. How do you eat an elephant? There is an answer to this, or real serious answer, one bite at a time. So step three is to
break down larger tasks. So if you have a really large
task that is overwhelming, break it down into
a set of small, manageable tasks, or simply
use the baby steps technique. You don't need a magic
wand to get things done. Just grabbed a task
management tool or a to-do list and watch your
productivity skyrockets. You could try something
as simple as Trello to follow all your workload
and get things done. The Kanban view is brilliant
in its simplicity. And what I like about
it is that you can see your entire workload
on one screen. And the last step
is to review and adjust your
priorities regularly. So let's be real. Life is
like a game of Tetris. And sometimes those blocks come crashing down faster than
you can say to-do list. That's why you got
to stay nimble and keep adjusting
your priorities. With practice, you'll be
crushing those tasks. Like they're nothing
but pixelated blocks.
6. How to Avoid the Procrastination Trap: Are you a procrastination Pro? If you're the type of person who puts the pro in procrastination. You are in luck today. I've got five ways to
help you manage that time wasting habit and finally
getting stuff done. No more pretending to
organize your desk or watching cat
videos on YouTube. So sit back, buckle up, and let's dive into
some pro tips for tackling that pesky
procrastination habit. Number one, set clear written
goals and plans of action. This will motivate you when you sit in front
of your computer, you know what to do and
can get on with it. It's much easier to start
your day knowing what to do, then have a blank Schedule. Plus if you know what you're
supposed to be doing, you want to get sidetracked,
checking your email, scrolling through
social media, Facebook, Twitter, or falling into the black hole of
online shopping. Number to break tasks into
smaller, manageable steps. If you're feeling
overwhelmed by a task, it's like trying to eat a whole pizza in one
go. It's just too much. But if you cut it into small, bite-sized pieces, suddenly
it seems more doable. The same goes for tasks. Breaking them into smaller, more manageable steps will make you feel like you're
making progress. Number three, set deadlines and hold yourself accountable. Establishing clear deadlines
for your tasks can help you stay on track and
avoid procrastination. Holding yourself accountable by sharing your goals with someone else or tracking your progress can also help you
stay motivated. Number for work
single-minded on each task. So let's assume you have
your list of tasks ready. Now choose one task
and only one task. Work on it until it's done. What I am conversely
hinting at here is to avoid multitasking all cost. Multitasking is well-known to be inefficient and
reduce productivity. So give each task your undivided attention.
Until it's done. You'll get more done
in the long run. Number five, use a timer. Set a timer for a specific
amount of time and focus on the task at hand
until the timer goes off. This nifty little gadget can help you stay on track and avoid the urge to check your phone or get lost in a YouTube
video series. If you really want
to up your game, try the 501-050-1030 technique. Okay, this looks weird on this screen, but
here's how it works. It's a workout for your brain. 15 min to work, 10 min break. You do this cycle twice, and then you finish with
a 30-minute work session, then you can honestly say you have worked and you
deserve a break. Just make sure to review
with a proper lunch break. All you'll be running on fumes
before the end of the day. And this technique
is really powerful. It's hard to do for
the first time, but if you try to do
it a couple of times, get used to it, you can find that it's really,
really productive. And finally, I just
wanted to say that procrastination is a
tough opponent to beat. Procrastination often stems from fear or anxiety about a task, hence, putting it
off until later. So try to practice
some self-compassion and don't be too
hard on yourself. If from the very start
you don't achieve your best productivity level by applying these strategies
to your daily work, you are moving in
the right direction. And we'll finally put an end to the constant battle between productivity and
procrastination.
7. How to Save Time with Decision Making: You freeze up when faced with even the
smallest decisions? Or do you spend countless hours pondering
over every single decision? Then this lesson is
perfect for you. There have been studies done on different decision-making
styles and the results are in, there's one style that
leads the way in terms of productivity and satisfaction
with the decision made. So let me share with you
this decision-making style. Try an example. Imagine going to a
fast food restaurant. How do you choose your meal? Here's what a successful
person would do. And the reason I'm
using this example is because this example is what a successful
person would do in every single decision
that they make. A successful person will order the first thing on the menu
that looks decent, sharp. It may not be the best
burger in the world, but it gets the job done
and saves you time. And according to science, this person will be happier with their decision
than the person who spends 10 min analyzing every ingredient in the
burger before ordering. Successful people do not
waste time making decisions. They follow one strategy
and are able to choose the best decision
on most occasions. This decision-making style is known as the satisfy
sing method. Using the satisficing method, a person makes a decision and chooses a good enough option. So the next time you're
faced with a decision, just satisfied and enjoy the
freedom of not overthinking. As a bonus, you'll develop a
positive character traits. The person using the
satisficing method of decision-making tends to make a decision and holds onto it. This is a trait of
successful people. They are quick to
make the decision, but slow to change it. They don't second
guess themselves. What's done is done. However, those who analyze every single option and every bit of data
available are different. They are slow to
make the decision, but super-quick to change it. They keep second-guessing
themselves and they doubt the adequacy
of their decision. They also experienced high
levels of regret and anxiety. So instead, use the
satisficing method and just ask yourself
one question. Will I enjoy this chart? If you make the decision
and move forward? No more time wasting analyzing
every little detail. Trust me, this is
a game changer.
8. Develop your Productivity Habits: Becoming a productive superstar
doesn't happen overnight. What do you have to
do is discover and break down your existing habits. Rebuilt them with your
productive habits. Break them down again. And if you have fine, rebuild them with
the right habits. So basically what I'm
trying to say is that along the way you
will have to examine your own habits and
actively work on changing them to achieve
a productive lifestyle. And trying to build
new habits can be like trying to teach
a cat to do tricks. Challenging but not impossible. So this lesson is focused on little techniques you
can use to make sure your new productive habits
stick around long enough to turn your typical workday is way home office
productivity machine. Firstly, start small when
building healthy habits. Start with baby steps
and work your way up. Would you run a marathon
without any practice? I don't think so. You'd quickly hits
the runners wall, which is the equivalent
of home office burnout. So take it easy and
don't forget to celebrate the living
victory along the way. E.g. how to start small? There is this popular workout. 60 min work, take a
ten-minute break, followed by 60 min work, and then take a ten-minute break before your final session, which is 30 min of
work scheduled. It can be tough. So instead here is
the easier solution. Just remember to
take 10 min off for every 1 h of work in
front of a computer. That's easier to do and it will help your daily productivity. To make it enjoyable. It's important to make
productive habits enjoyable as this can increase your motivation
to stick with them. So seek out the strategies that you feel would be most useful for you because
you don't want to build habits that you can spend. E.g. if I was on a new diet, only allowed me to
eat Brussels sprouts. I think I go insane. But if I add a diet that lets me eat moderate quantities of foods that I love and I
get a reward of dessert, then I would be more happy to turn that diet into my habits. Number three, reward
yourself for your efforts. Treat yourself to a favorite
activity or a new toy. Will you build your habits? And for the patient
and persistent? Remember, building
healthy habits is like growing a garden. It takes time and patients don't expect overnight success and don't beat yourself
up if you kill them, you meet along the way. Just keep on watering
your healthy habits and watch them grow
one day at a time. One last thing, it takes one
month to build a new habit. The first seven days
will be the hardest. It will gradually become easier, but don't stop until
the month is complete. Even after 20 days. If you stop, you will revert
back to your old habits. Once you build it, it
will become a part of your regular activities and
you will do it on autopilot. So follow that habit strictly and keep at it for a full month.
9. Action Plan for Home Office Productivity: If you are here, it means you
survive the content and are ready to take your productivity
to the next level. Now it's the time for
action and for you to take your productivity
into your own hands. So let's summarize the training. Would an action plan for boosting your home
office productivity? Create a dedicated workspace. Set up a workspace
that is designed for work free from distractions. Make sure the
workspace comfortable, organized, and has all the necessary
equipment and supplies. Establish a routine.
So basically establish a daily routine that includes regular work hours, breaks, and time for
other activities. And stick to your
routine as much as possible to create a sense of structure and order
in your data. Set, goals and priorities
for your work. And identify the tasks that are most important to
achieving them. And prioritize these tasks so that you focus
on completing them. First. Minimize distractions. So for this, I want
you to identify potential sources
of distractions in your workspace and take
steps to minimize that. This might include
turning off your phone, muting your phone,
wearing noise, canceling headphones, or using a website
blockers to limit access to social media and
other distracting websites. I use Slack and I switch off the notifications
during my focus time. This is a really important one. Take regular nuts,
I mean, breaks. These can help you
stay energized and focused throughout today. And don't forget to use
a time management tool. So this can be something
like Trello or it can be even something
as simple as to-do-list. Use them to help me stay
organized and on track. And don't forget to set
deadlines for each task and prioritize your tasks
based on importance. Take care of your physical
and mental health by getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly,
and practicing stress reduction
techniques such as meditation, yoga, or exercise. And don't forget to maintain
a work-life balance. So for this, we want to set
boundaries between work and your personal life and avoid working beyond your
set work hours. Make time for family, friends, and hobbies that are
important to you. It takes time to achieve your highest level
of productivity. And leave guidelines are moving
you away from stress and towards a sustainable
and productive working. But don't get too confident. This plan is not set it
once and forget about it. You'll need to consciously
apply the techniques and track your progress to ensure you have consistent productivity
week on week. So let's get to it and make your home office your
productivity Playground. Good luck. And I hope
you enjoyed my lessons.
10. Extra Lesson - Manage Interruptions: Hey there fellow
work from home or if you've ever tried to
work with kids, pets, or partners in the
house, you know, that interruptions are like mosquitoes at a Summer Barbecue. They are everywhere and
they're annoying a sec. But fear not. I'll be sharing with
you some top-notch tips and tricks for dealing with those pesky interruptions
that always seem to happen just when you're about to hit your productivity strike. Firstly, you want to establish clear boundaries
with the people in your household about when you're working and when you are
available for interactions. I mean, talking. Even something as simple as closing your door can signal to others that you are busy and
they should not interrupt. Next, you want to communicate
this to everyone. So make sure your
family members or your roommates know
your work schedule and understand the importance of minimizing interruptions
during work hours. I have seen situations where family members just did
not understand this and felt like it was
the best way just to enter somebody's
office anytime, whenever they wanted to. And this was really a
productivity waster. So make sure you communicate to others how important
this is for you. And I also want to mention
that you should establish a daily routine that
includes regular work hours, breaks, and time for
your other activities. Stick to your routine as much as possible to create a
sense of structure and order in your day and others
in your house will also get familiar with your plan and not interrupt you during
your focus time. And you want to use older
technology to your advantage. So e.g. you could use noise
canceling headphones. You could set up virtual
meetings software. Or if you're using
instant messaging, you could switch
off notifications during your focus time. By implementing
these strategies, you can manage breaks and interruptions while working from home and maintain productivity
and effectiveness.
