About This Class
Join the class by Catherine Never (@en_sewing) where you will create patches for decorating or repairing imperfections on clothes. This is a simple and stylish method to return your favorite piece of clothing to a wearable state. The class is suitable for beginners, no sewing skills are required.
The creation of the master class was inspired by a visit to a Korean fashion exhibition, where patches were used to create designer modern new clothes. But it's also a great upcycling method. In the context of upcycling clothes, it means taking an old piece of clothing that’s tattered, worn, broken, ripped or frayed and giving it new life so it can be worn or used again.
Working with Catherine, you’ll learn how to:
- Use basic and more advanced Materials to make an embroidery
- Create your own embroidered patch
- Use a patch to decorate or mend your clothes
Please use the class Discussion board to share your questions and feedback.
Meet Your Teacher
Hello Everyone!
My name is Catherine, and I'm an Embroidery and Sewing Designer based in London. I love sharing the tips and tricks I've gathered throughout my creative journey and exploring new techniques to expand my craft.
As a minimalist, I'm drawn to clean lines, monochromatic palettes, and designs that are simple yet capacious. I'm also a fan of experimenting, incorporating unique materials like raffia, metallic threads, and mesh into my creations to give them a distinctive touch.
In my embroidery work, I strive to create designs that speak to the wearer's personality, hobbies, and interests. As for sewing, I enjoy making minimalistic yet exciting pieces, with a special focus on beautiful underwear, swimsuits, and home clothes.
