About This Class

All of us seek to realize our greater purpose here. In this course, we share a simple, practical system, called the Ikigai, for aligning with our most satisfying work. This tool has been practice in Japan for centuries and continues to be applied for those stepping into their career. We use the Ikigai to affirm that what we are doing on a daily basis, gives us a "Reason for Being," the literal translation of Ikiagai.

In our course, you will be guided through a series of exercises to first uncover 4 key areas for a satisfying career and for realizing your purpose. You will be guided to understand and explore what you love, what skills and talents you have, what you feel the world needs, and how you earn a living.

The Ikigai is a graphic—a series of connected circles that allows you to easily learn how to recognize the overlapping areas and differences of your Vocation, Profession, Mission, and Passion, and where you are primarily dominant and needing more balance.

By the end of the course, you will clearly see your purpose and how to take the necessary steps to live it with inspiration and confidence.

1. Intro and Welcome Video + Ikigai - Your Reason for Being: Hi. My name is very loose. I'm the founder of Divine Timing coaching dot com, the creator of the Divine Timing Online School. I've been a life in business Coach since 2006 and I've helped my clients using the tools of astrology, numerology and human design to understand their souls purpose and how to empower their businesses deeper with more grace with more ease. I want to invite you to join us in this course, Discover your passionate purpose with the geeky guy. What is the guy? Well, it's a Japanese term that refers to our reason for being something I've learned in my coaching process over many years that we all wanna have something that ignites us, Something that we're excited to do every day of our life. It feels like we are really living on purpose. This course you're gonna learn through this map of the geeky guy, your four primary archetypes. We're gonna discuss the altruist, the idealist. We're going to discuss the innocent. And the engineer could have learned how and where you our most concentrated in your life. We're to see what it means to be on a mission in this life with the differences with being on a mission and finding your vocation or finding your passion and how your profession fits into all of that and where the overlap is of these areas. This is really getting to the core of where you fit into the larger global ecology and economy. It's a simple process to unfold this geeky guy, but it does take some intention in some real dedication to learning more about yourself until really understanding some of the patterns you have in your life. So I invite you to join us for the course, to learn more about yourself, to become empowered and to really step up and out into the world, not just doing something that you don't love for the bottom line of money or doing something that feels like it's really good for the world. But you're not earning a living doing it and understand how to bring all these worlds together in your unique reason for being the e key guy. We'll see you in the course 2. What is Ikigai?: on a welcome you to the course. Discover your passionate purpose with the E key guy, and we start with a quote that really summarizes the whole way. He guy process spirit with the vision is a dream with a mission. This is from one of my favorite drummers, Neil Peart, who is also the lyricist for the progressive rock band Rush. And this really is a beautiful summary of our work with the e key guy. So what is the E key guy? Well, you guys a Japanese term which literally means a reason for being. It's a reason to get up in the morning that excites us. It brings the enjoyment of the meaning of life. It gives us our secret or meaningful purpose, and it's what we live for. And what you see here is a graphic of the four quadrants of the e key guy and actually, how their meanings overlap. And we're gonna go through this in our process together. So in the next video, we'll actually step through the four individual steps of discovering Eureka guy, and you have this graphic in your notes, and so I would invite you to download it, get out a pen, print it out and follow along 3. The First 4 Steps to Reveal your Ikigai: So the basis of the e key guy, the reason for being it's found in these four primary topics. These four topics are what the world needs, which is really what would improve the world. In your opinion, you're feeling what would really help this world to grow. That's what the world needs. Secondly, what you can get paid for where others have invested in you in your services, in your products or work that you've received money for. This is gonna be the second area will focus on. And then thirdly, we're gonna look at what you're good at. Your natural talents, your gifts, your skills and your abilities. Okay, so what you're good at And lastly, we have what you love, what you cherish, what your values are and what you enjoy. So these are the four primary components of the E key guy. And in the next video, we'll see these put onto our hand out and are graphic 4. First 4 Steps Graphic: do you hear, Aziz? We explore our reason for being into the 1st 4 steps, and that's what we have these four circles here. So you have the graphic. You have the handout, you've printed it out, or you're able to kind of take notes on your computer with it. And we're gonna look at this first circle, and this is what the world needs. You're gonna write that into that circle into that area and again, this is what you believe would improve the world. And over here on the side, you can bullet point just the core essence of what you believe. The world needs to take a minute to do that have a little bit of background music for you to put that onto the paper. And if you need more time at the end, it's no problem. You can pause the video and check back in when you're done. So just sketch out what the world needs in your opinion. No. - Okay , now it's all right. If you haven't completed again, you could pause the video. You add more later, and the next circle you're going to put what you get paid for how you've earned money for any products and the services, any kind of work that you've done, what you have gotten paid for on again. You can outline that here or here, and just take a few moments to greet some bullet points around that. - All right. And now, in the next circle, you're going to write in the circle what you are good at. So this is your natural talents or gifts? Skills, abilities that you have, Maybe other people have told you about this. Oh, you're really good at this. Maybe you're just very aware of it yourself. But some natural gifts that you have. So sketch those out over here you can do. Ah, a few bullet points of that. All right. And finally we get to the upper circle, which is what you love. What you love, which is, you know, something you cherish. Could be many things. Things you enjoy your value system, what's important to you. What you love so creates and bullet points around that. Take a minute here. All right. Wonderful. It's OK. If you have a lot more in any one of these areas, it's important to notice, you know where you did have a lot of responses may be one of the circles. You didn't have so many responses. And just to notice that as we go through our process here together, we're gonna continue to fill this in. Another interesting point is that if you do this process a year from now, five years from now, these things might change a little bit, right, because we're always evolving and growing. So the e key guy process is really helpful to do every once in a while, if we ever feel a shift in our life coming. So just know this is a process. It's always unfolding within us, and we're gonna go a little bit deeper in our next video. 5. Steps 5-8: Exploring your Passion, Mission, Vocation, Professtion: All right, So we're going deeper into our geeky guy, and you have the four circles here on your sheet, and we're gonna do is we're going to start to combine these together. This is gonna be really fascinating. So let's look at how we find our vocation. The word vocation means to be called Muqata'a from the Latin Voice comes from this word as well, and it's actually a combination of what the world needs that you feel and what you get paid for. So you're invited now, in this section down here, just take two or three bullet points, two or three essential elements total that you can combine together from what you get paid for and what the world needs. Just creative, small list of what you feel really is the overlap of what the world needs and what you get paid for. Which then is your vocation. Take about 30 seconds for die. All right, now, when we look at what you get paid for, we combine that with what you are good at. Talented gives your abilities. We're going to get your profession, your profession. So how people are gonna know you out in the world reputation. So what you get paid for and what you are good at? What's the overlap here between these two circles? And you can sketch out a few essential points here. It really seems t describe the professional path you're good at, is not necessarily with the world. Needs right to take some time. Three seconds to bullet point this overlapping area. Wonderful. Now, what you are good at is gonna overlap. With what, love? Okay, that's this little section here. Recall that your passion All right. You got skills in there you're talented in and you absolutely love doing its part of your values. Your passionate about it. It's over here. You can combine the elements to see Really? What's the core of your passion? Take a few moments to do that. No. All right, now again, if you have more pieces to fill in or it might be taking a longer time, that's OK. You can pause the video. You come back again, notice. You know, if some of these areas are a little bit harder than others to get that core theme and finally, our mission, our mission, what we love and what the world needs combined together. So what are the overlapping themes? Core elements of what the world needs, what you love. You can do a few bullet points to that here, you know. All right. Wonderful. So now we have all the core components of the E g. Guy. And of course, we're gonna go even deeper. But this is our primary map that we're working. This is going to lead us into the archetypes on so much more. 6. Bonus Worksheet: so before going on to the deeper levels of the e key guy, this is a bonus worksheet that you can work with. It again summarizes the definition, uh, from the Japanese. A reason for being the reason to get up in the morning of the e key guy shows you the graphic with all the components here, the main components. And there's four questions you can contemplate and consider no to help you fill in these pieces. Maybe some of them were a little bit harder for you. Thes questions include What great results have you achieved in the past? And what are some of your winds that you can put down is something you are good at something that you're skilled at. And second question you can play with is what do you really feel happy about in your life right now? What makes you happier brings you joy. Let that inform the he guy process. They're li What are you so good at that? Others ask you for help in that area. What skills do you bring to the table and forth? What part of your business or relationships projects creative works? What brings you joy of any of those areas. And what's the one thing you would be happy to do? More off? Maybe you do it anyways, even if you weren't earning money, making a living from it. So these are some extra questions you could work with the bonus worksheet just to fill in some of those pieces of your geeky guy. 7. Deeper into Purpose: The Inner Quadrant of Ikigai: All right. So this is where we go to, really? The deep, deep level of the e key guy. And it really has to do with understanding how these realms over lack. So I invite you to take out another piece of paper, something you can Johnson notes down on. And we're gonna do a process here. This is another beautiful graphic off. You know, the main components of the e key guy. Remember, we have these four overlapping areas the mission, the location, the profession passion. Okay. What you see, too, is that the mission in the vocation overlap the location the profession do, and the passion in the profession overlap. And the mission in the passion overlap here. So what happens is in steps 5 to 8 of the Ikea guy. We want to combine the essence or the bullet points of your mission and your vocation. Okay, to combine those together and really, you wanna have, like, a one line statement, an s and statement for the mission and vocation? What do you feel? There's like, the core of that. Those two realms together, we're gonna do the same thing with the vocation and the profession is we're day overlap. What's the core essence of those quadrants? And we'll do the same thing with the profession and the passion. And lastly, we'll get to that core statement one or two lines of where the overlap is of the passion and the mission. So again, here's the graphic. We have the overlap here Mission, location, location, profession, profession, passion and passion and mission. We want to get to this core area right here of these one line statements for the geeky guy through taking a few moments to combine those realms together. 8. Challenges to Realizing your Ikigai: All right. So we've gone to the inner core of our geeky guys. We've overlapped the mission, vocation, profession and passion. We want to point out the challenges that we have, where we feel unfulfilled or lost or confused with with our lives. Because what happens here? This is another really great graphic. Is that where we experience these overlaps? There is a sense of, still a bit of lack. And this is why we have to put them all together into the center point, which is really the the essence or the soul of the e key guy. So you know where we have the mission. In vocation, we can feel some excitement, but also a sense of complacency, sense of uncertainty. And over here, where the vocation and profession overlap, we can feel comfortable. You can do it. But we might feel a bit empty inside. Might not even have any passion around. It might not feel very fulfilling. Now we have a lot of passion over here, right? We feel satisfied. We're doing what we love. We're good at it. But we might feel like it's useless, like doesn't really get out in the world. In a practical way doesn't really impact the world, right. This happens a lot with the arts. For instance. A lot of us have a lot of artistic talent, and we love doing it. But it's maybe not touching. A lot of people are having an impact. And then over here, you know, we were on our mission, you know, we love doing it. The world needs it. We can feel a lot of delight. Satisfaction, uh, and fullness. But there's no money. There's no wealth. There's no income coming in from it. Right? So here's Here's what happens, right? This is how we're starting to identify where we fall into the economics of the world and where are kind of economic piece of the puzzle is, and there is really fascinating journey here because we could see that there is sort of a dividing line between this internal motivation, which is more about what we want as an individual focusing on what we want and the external motivation over here, which is focusing more on what the world wants and needs. This is gonna give us all of our geeky guy archetypes and subtypes, So check this out. What you love is the artist. That's really the essence of the artist is doing what we love. That's the core archetype in this quadrant in this quadrant. Over here, the core archetype is the altruist. We're concerned with what the world needs. You might even call it the humanitarian. And over here, you know the engineer. It's like I can do this and I can get paid for it. It's very practical, you know, Here. We're good at it, and they're sort of a natural talent. So we call this the innocent. This is the four archetypes of the E key guy. The four primary archetypes. Now, where the overlap is, we go a little bit deeper, right? So our vocation, what we advocate for literally to have the same route were the voice. Hear the voice here. Advocacy were kind of defending something. And we're promoting it in the world. And if we look over here, the engineer and the innocent combined. Teoh, it was our profession. It's something we can implement in the world. We can bring it out through our actions. And over here, the artist and the innocent, right? This is what we're enthusiastic about. We feel excited about it. We're passionate about it. So the enthusiast lives here, and lastly, the idealist lives in the realm between the artist and the altruist. This is where we're on our mission. We have ideals that we want to get behind that we want to put energy behind. You can feel creative in that process. We can feel purposeful with that process. So this is really, uh, the entirety here of the Ikea guy map. And it a journey is to find that center here where all these realms can overlap. So noticed your mission. Your passion, your profession, your vocation. We're going to do an exploration of all of these archetypes next. 9. The Engineer: So now we get to explore each of the four primary key guy archetypes, starting with the engineer. What you get paid for the engineer is 100% focus on solving a problem and getting paid to solve that problem. There's nothing wrong with that. Engineers make the world go round, and they have some really valuable skill that said to offer online entrepreneurs skillets, Our skills s o. Much of building a successful business is about solving problems for your customers. There's a practicality right to the engineer. There's pragmatism. This is applicable in the world, the faster and better you can figure out how to solve the problems and get your solution to the market, the more money you'll make. So it's really bottom line with the engineer and this is Theo. Engineer Shadow is welds. You know that they can lose the passion and excitement of waking up each day to do their work. Also, engineers can become mercenary, giving their talents to work without meaning rather than using their gifts to serve the world right, sort of that altruism or define personal enjoyment in that process, which would be doing things that they love right so you could definitely be an engineer and not love what you're doing. So just notice how this archetype lands in you. And if you feel really resonant with it, maybe like, what percentage of yourself really identifies with the engineer? 10. The Innocent: All right now we get to move to the innocent, the realm of our skills and our talents or abilities were good at now. The innocent is so beautiful. It's it's It's that area where we excel, where we see our true strength and our true gifts. And it's like a child when they're playing. No, they're just doing what they they love and they're absorbed in it and they don't even notice that time is passing. Everything seems effortless. Without the innocent, business can become hard or challenging. We have to maintain that sort of purity and what we're doing with this innocent archetype. Now what's the innocence Shadow? The challenge is that they can get stuck in their comfort zone, So they're focusing pretty much on what they know they're good at, and maybe not going beyond that, not challenging themselves. So they're not really growing. They're not really stretching into their potential. They're not trying new things. Maybe your experimenting or innovating enough. They can also lose touch with what they love because they get into maybe a kind of rut stuck a stuck place. So notice in yourself. If you feel the innocent really strongly doing what you love and you're good at, maybe what percentage of yourself feels really connected with this archetype 11. The Artist: all right. We made our way to the artist do and what we love. This is an architect by really resonate with a lot myself. And it's It's been a lot of my journey here, maybe yours as well. You know, being an artist is it's Ah, it's a beautiful thing, right? And we we we love doing what we love. We have a nobility also toe appreciate beauty to see it in a lot of areas of life. Whether that's through sound and music, dance through visual Arthur photography. There's a lot of possibilities with the artist, right? And, um, while the rest of us are trying to hit the target, you know, artists are hitting targets that only they can see. There's so much imagination in the artist archetype, and they usually are keenly aware that they have some gifts, and they're not afraid to follow their passions. So what's the shadow? Well, they're so focused on what they love, that they often miss out on the chance to truly help others. There's also kind of self absorption here, just like with the innocent. Um, so we doing what we love? You kind of get lost in those worlds. You know, in our imagination, we can also get found in our imagination. But we might not impact the world at all with it. Um, you know, may not make money. We're not Find these, you know. And this is sort of that artist tortured artist struggle. Right of, you know, these days we have to integrate the engineer right to to promote ourselves, right? And artists that help, you know, promote a cause that tap into the Alatriste often could have a bigger impact as well. But this is something that probably a lot of us on this course have strong enough. So notice just where you're at with the artist archetype and how much is, uh, really resonating for you. 12. The Altruist: lastly become to the primary archetype of the geeky guy, which is the altruist, really concerned with the needs of the world, improving the world for everyone and the actress of the world. They put the world and other people before themselves always. They have big, beautiful hearts and visions, and they're really hyper aware of the challenges and struggles that exist in the world, the concerns of the many. So it takes huge courage to be an altruist, right? A lot of the world support is being really self focused, be the really media saturated the ostracize into the world and into the problems of all the peoples of the world, and wants to make the world a better place. Now, the biggest shadow for the Alatriste is that they can really struggle personally inter personally and financially if they don't work out how to integrate the other personas successfully meaning, working with the artist, working with the engineer, working with innocent, we can live really in our vision of perfection or our idealism. And so just notice where you're at with the altruist architect 13. Questions and Contemplations: The 4 Primal Ikigai Archetypes: So in this video, we're going to pose a few questions for you to consider on your path of understanding how the archetypes of the e key guy live in you. Do you demonstrate your strengths most as the artist, the Alatriste, the innocent or the engineer? It could you give a sort of percentage to each of these. Which of these archetypes challenges you? Which of them compels you? It's like you're kind of magnetized to it. Maybe a different one calls to you. No, there may be one of these that you don't relate to at all. Is that true for you? Which of these geeky guy archetypes do not relate to it all? And how could you integrate that missing archetype or element? Maurin your life to achieve wholeness? And lastly, who do you know in your life who represents each of these reasons for being So we're looking at the big picture archetypes here. Do you know some people that represent the artist, the engineer, the Alatriste, the innocent? That a really sort of obvious to Maybe it's a friend of yours, Mom or dad. Sister, Brother just kind of noticed that right? And also notice if you were one of these archetypes before, maybe five years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago. But that's not really where you're primarily identified anymore. You know, it's changed over time, and this is the value of again doing the e key guy process over time. You know regularly in your life. You may have even seen this in people that you love or caring for that they've changed over time. 14. Questions and Contemplations: The 4 Ikigai Sub-Archetypes: And so here in our last full video about the e key guy, a few questions to consider about the subtypes, the overlaps right where we have our mission in our vocation or profession and our passion . And so the question here is, what do you advocate for? What do you promote or defend? Might this section down here overlap of the Al Tristen, the engineer, what the world needs and what we get paid for? So what do you advocate in the world and what can you implement into action through the innocent in the engineer? And what are you enthusiastic about? Where do you feel so much creative juice? That's the artist and the innocent combining together what you love you're good at. And of course, what ideals do you carry within you and share with the world? The artist and the altruist combining together. And so again, Wendy's all overlap. What is the essence here? What's jumping off? What is really shining in that central light of your geeky guy? Your reason for being 15. Closing and Summary: So as we close this course about the eq a guy the reason for being just another visual here of the life economics where you fit into the larger ecology of economy through the internal motivation, focusing more on what you want, the extra motivation focusing more on what the world wants and needs. We see the four archetypes here, how they overlap in the four subtypes, and again we're looking at. Where is that essence? Where is that overlap That core that sole pulsing in the center here, that that sacred purpose that you have been called to. So give yourself some time to be with this process, to meditate on it and to consider how these areas have shifted over time in your life to know that they will probably change again, some of them some parts of them, and apply this into what's unfolding for you in the months and the years ahead. Remember, if you're doing those things you don't love, you know that artist in you is going to get upset. And if he doesn't feel like it's impacting the world, that altruists is gonna feel like so selfish, you know, And, uh, you know you might get paid for it, but it's just, like, not really like that great at this. And I don't love it, you know? Listen to those voices in you really come back to this core place. You know, if we were all doing our IKI guy and living are eking guy every day. The world would really be a smooth and joyous place where everyone was really fulfilling their their purpose right, and doing it with passion, with a mission with vocation and professionally in the world. So as we close the course here, I want to acknowledge you for wondering yourself for stepping up and out into the world with your vision. Spirit with a vision is a dream with a mission. So keep dreaming. Keep embodying that dream. And I thank you for joining this course. I hope you've learned a lot. You have a lot to sit with and work with, and that you can inspire other people with this process. Apply it in your life and the lives of others that you care for. And I invite you to continue your studies through other courses in finding your passionate purpose and learning more about yourself. through some other tools. The callings courses that I have, the astrology courses, other professional courses. And I wish you all the best on your journey almost there.
