1. Class Introduction: What's up, guys? My name is Phil and I run
a YouTube channel and our website to
teach people how to edit those photos
and graphic design. In this class, you will
learn how to collaborate these four crappy videos
into masterpieces. If you are in terrestrial danger in this course right now.
2. Color Grade Dreamy Look: So this is how we do. The first step is we need
to do is select this node, go to your color wheel. I'm going to type minus
100 and highlight. Now the next step is to
increase the gain a bit. And I'm going to increase
my gamma does a little bit. Now the next step is to go
to your offset and degrees. And degrees your contrast
right about here. Now go to your logs
and the highlight around minus 40, right about it. This is before and
this is after. Now the next step
is to right-click, add a serial masking window
and select the circular mask. And I'm going to
mask around my face, increase the size and increase
the softness to about 14. And place these
right about here. Now go to your wheels. Increased Gamma, increase the gain and increase the contrast
right about here. This is before and
this is after. Now our next step
is to right-click, add another serial, go
to the mask room window. Again, select the circular mask, and this time increase the size to 57 and please
the softness to 14. I'm going to customize
my shapes like this one and drag it to town
right about there. Now go to your Effects first, press Shift Edge to
build the masking area. And I'm going to
invert this mask. Click on this icon
to invert the mask. We are going to
effect this rounding, but not the phase in this node. So go to your Effects and
search for light rays fact, and drag and drop this
effect onto this node. Now to hide the preview
of the masking media, press Shift Edge once again. In this effect,
source threshold type 0.87 in the length type one, in the softness, also type one. And in the badness type 0.440. Now I'm going to
position my light is, so this is the position control. I'm going to place
this around here. High defects. These two lists area
zoom the window. Now in this vector I'm going to increase my
offset right about. Now. The next step is to right-click,
add another serial. Place this right here, go
to the masculine window, add a circular mask, go to a curve, back to the masking window to
get these controls. Now, integrate this
size this time around 61 and increase the
softness to around 14. Place this right about it. Now go to your color with an inmate day and
detail type minus 80. And what it does, it
solve our skin tones, if I do before and after, this is before and
this is after. Now the next step is to minus 87 in highlight and
increase the gain. Increase gamma, increase
our contrast a bit. The next step is go to
the ER and I'm going to add a slightly green
color, this node. So in light, push these two degree in his
sight right about here. In the shadow posted is to also get the good in
his side right about it. This is before and
this is after. Now our next step is
to add another cereal. And this time go to the
color board for them. And I'm going to push this 2D, this side, right about,
right about here. Now what I'm going to do is
decrease my offset all the way to the seven. And I'm going to increase my highlight, increased my gain. I'm going to decrease my lift. About this. This is before, this is after. In this node we'd
subtract our light, right-click and
add a final node, and this time, go
to the corral bees. And in the game push these 2D yellow side,
write about it. So if I play the video, this is how you
can get a smooth, dreamy kind of look effect. Now you can also apply
this effect to the other. We do just right-click
and grab the serial. Now added lib. Go to the Color Wheels and
Deck this gallery, and this is our still. If I scroll from
left to right side, you can see if you, if you want to apply this grid, just right-click
and apply the grid. And the grid. We'll apply it to our video. You need to change some
things like the masking area. You have to place these
to your phase like this. And you have to change some slightly different
settings to avoid this effect. This is from the
lightest vector. What I'm going to do is go to the effects and I'm
going to decrease the brightness and I'm
going to Jane angle a bit. You can also apply this
effect to your other videos. This is how you can
create a dreamy kind of a local effect in
Da Vinci Resolve. Now if you want to add
more light to a shot, All you need to do is just select this node, go to the fx, change the angle of the light
chain right about here, and select the second
node, increase, gamma increases again,
right about here. This is how you can
add more light to your face in this grid.
3. Dark Moody Color Grading: So the first thing
that we need to do is our shot is overexposing
from this area. So we need to avoid
is to do that. All you need to do is
just select your node, go to the color wheels
and degrees the game. Please, Gamma. And I'm going to increase my
saturation about 70. This is before, as you
can see in this scope, these colors are
touching this line. And after, this is
what we achieved. Now our next step is
to create an cereal, go to the masking window
and add the circular mask. Now in this node we
are going to mask around my face plus decrease the size round this value and I'm going to
increase the softness. Around. Now I'm going to customize the
shapes like this one. Read, write about it. In this node I'm going
to do is just increase the gamma and increase
the contrast just a bit. This is before, this is after. Now add another serial. Place, this right here. In this area, what I'm
going to do is just these 2D yellow side right about here. Now increase the offset, increase the gain,
decrease the gamma over L. And degrees the lift
right about here. This is before and this is
what we achieve in this node. I'm going to decrease the gamma
ability right about here. Next step is to add
another serial. Go to the masculine window, and this time select
the circular mask and increase is this size. And place this right ear and increase the softness a
bit right about here. Now to view the masking
area, press Shift Edge. We are going to effect the
sounding but not our subject. So how do we do that? We need to invert the mask. So click on this icon
to invert the mask. Now press Shift Edge to hide the preview of
this masking area. Now in this node, but
I'm going to do is just decrease the gain degrees gamma. Right about here.
This is before, this is what we
achieved in this. Now our next step is to, first we need to increase
the softness and the size. Unbuild. Write about it. Now the next
step is to add another CTL. Place this right here, go
to the masking window, select the circular mask. Now what I'm going to
do is just place it right here, increase
the softness. Nucleus the size a bit. Now go to the Color
Wheels, increase the dean, increase gamma, and increase the contrast
a bit right about degrees, the Dana bit right about it. This is before, this is after. I'm making my face to Bob. Now one more thing that
you should do to give this video a proper dark moody
effect is right-click here, select your first node,
right-click here, go to the Add Node and
select this ad CDL before. Place this above,
go to the effects, search for glow effect, added this lower
effect onto this node. Degrees this Shine
threshold to around 0.1, increase the spread to all
the way to two degrees. Gamma. Increase the gain. In Greek tradition. Now all you need to do is
just change the filter color. If you like this color, and increase gamma bit degrees
again, right about here. Now if I play this video, this is how you can create. I will do dark and
moody effects. Now you can also apply these color-coded to
any of your photo. Just right-click here,
grab this, still. Add a video, go to the color
page, go to the gallery. And this is our fact, right-click here and apply grid. Now, one more thing that you
should do when you apply the grade to other afforded is Jane the masking
area to your phrase? Like this. This is how you can apply this color
gray to any of your footage. If I show you this is
before, and this is after. This is before, and this is
what we achieve in this grid. Now if you want to increase the green light coming
from this slide, all you need to do this, select your first
node and degrees this Shine threshold like this. And you will have this light
effect from this area.
4. Color grade youtube video: This is our shot. Right now. In this part, we
don't have any light. I have some lighting
issue right on my face. And in this code, you can
see the highlight attaching this line and the shadows
are so **** sharp. So how do we add some light to our shot and balance our shot? First to increase the
light in our shot, we need to increase the
gamma right about here. And we are going to increase
the offset right about here. Now, my shot is right
now over exposing. We are going to decrease. Again. Write them out here. Now I'm going to add
some contrast by 0.11.1. Now I'm going to
increase the saturation. And we are done. This is before, and this is what
we just created. The next step is to add
another node or cereal and go to the masking window and select the circular mask, increase the mask size, and place it around our subject. Now increase the
softness of this mask. Now if you wanted to
view the masking area, you need to press Shift Edge. This is our masking data. Now I'm going to invert this mask by clicking
on this icon. Now I'm going to
increase the size of this mask and degrees of
softness oriented the software. I'll just read it,
but right about here. Now I'm going to
add some effects. So go to the Effects and
drag and drop the box. No press to patch and decrease the boxplot
right about here. Now I'm going to go
to the custom curve, select this one, drag it down, and add a point right
here and increase the contrast right about here. Now go to the masking window
and increase the softness of this mask and increase
the size just a little bit. Now the next step is
to add another serial. Go to the masking windows. Let me circular
mask and increase the max size and
place it right about. Now included the softness. Now this time, drag and drop di directional. Invert the mask. Jamie, the angle right about here and degrees this
strength of this mosque. I know you want to ask
why we are doing this, why we're making the
background dull. I wanted the viewer to
focus on my subject. Note the background
because it has, you can see my background
is really messed up. Turn off the effects
and add an a serial. Drag it to this side. Now go to the curve, go to the Hue vs Hue, and take this line and
drag it right about here. Now as we do that, you will notice our
skin tone is messed up. How do we fit our skin tone? Select the red point. Take this point and drag it below this line
right about here. This is before and
this is after. Now our next step is to
go to the custom curve. And I'm going to add some
highlights to our shot. I'm going to solve the
shadows right about it. Now I'm going to
increase the offset, decrease the gamma,
and degrees lift. Now on some part of my video, our shot is overexposing. So how do we avoid these? Go to the highlight and
decrease the highlight. And as I'm doing this, you can notice that I wish
art is now balancing. So I'm going to decrease it
by minus 40 right about here. This is before and
this is after. Now, I'm going to add a
final cereal. In this video. I'm going to increase the
contrast right about here. Right voltage. I'm going to increase my
offset, increase gain. Now I'm going to decrease the highlight shot
right about here. Now shot is balanced
and column grid. Now if I select all the nodes, press Control D to denote. This is our original video, and this is what
we just created. This is how you can
color grid and color correct your videos for
your YouTube content.
5. Color grade flat footage: This is my video
and in this video, I don't have proper lighting. Alright, so I can't
really see my face. So we are going to increase
the light in our Schar. So how do we do that? First, you need to select
your node and go to the color B and check on this part of ls and it
will balance your shot. If I do before and after, you can see what it
does to our shot. Now, we are going to increase the gain and decrease the gamma because our shot
right now is over x vaulting. So by decreasing the gain, we are balancing our shot. Right here. In the shadow, as you
can see in this graph, they are touching this line. So I'm going to increase the
offset right about here. Now I'm going to decrease
the lift right about here. Increase the gamma
a little bit more. And degrees again. Right about here. This is after and
this is before steel. I can't really see
my face properly. So what I'm going to
do is right-click on this node and add a serial. Now go to the masking window
as the circular mask. And we are going to mask around my face. Press Shift Edge. And we are going to increase
the size of this mask and increase the softness of this
masker right about here. Now place it around
your face and go to the color wheel
and increase the gamma. Decreased again just a
little bit about Chair and decrease the lift and increase the contrast to
make it more pop. If I show you before and after now you know
what I was talking about. Now we are going to create a node outside of
this masking mode. Right-click on this node, add a node, and click
on this outside node. What this outside
nor does it inward our mask that we just did
and pasted on this load. If I press Shift Edge, this is the outside mask, and this is our mask, it inverted and paste
it on this node. Now the next step is we
are going to increase the softness and increase
the size of this mosque. In outside node, press
Shift Edge in color. We'll decrease the gain. Right about here. Now go to the Effects and
select these guardian blurred and drag and drop
this on outside node. This is before,
and this is after. Why I created this
outside node degrees again and add a blur. I wanted the viewer to focus on this subject nor
the whole footage. Now our next step is to create a cereal and go to the credit. And I'm going to push this to the green side right about here. Don't push it too
far. Just right here. Now in the offset, I'm going to push it to
the side right about here. I'm subtracting the red in my footage and increasing
the green value. You can see in the graph. Now what I'm going to do
is increase the gamma, increase the gain, and
degrees the offset. Now degrees again, because
right now my footage is overexposing and it leaves
the left, right about here. Increase again. Degrees gamma, increase again and
decrease gamma. And degrees the offset
right about here. Now, this is before
and this is after. In our final load. If I play the video, I just decrease the
red in my short and increase the light
on this side of my face. Now if I select all the node
and show you this is before, and this is what we are just created in just
under ten minutes. This is how you can color grade. If lead footage for
your YouTube videos.
