summarize your findings. We will then be using
hat GPT to help define your target audience and create a customer persona. We'll then be
setting smart goals, including one to two specific, measurable and actionable goals, refining them with
hat GPT, if needed. We'll then be using Chat GPT to help develop tactics
to help your goals. And then we will
be using Chat GPT to help identify KPIs to
measure your success. I've included some
helpful resources in the projects and resources
section to guide you, including a project template to help structure your
marketing strategy. When you're ready, I'd
encourage you to share just one section of your strategy with the class
in the project gallery. This could be your
SWOT analysis, your customer persona, or
even your smart goals. Sharing even one part will
allow you to get feedback, connect with other students, and refine your
ideas even further. I'll also be checking
in regularly to provide feedback and answer any
questions you might get started, head over to the projects and resources section and download
the project template. Remember, this isn't
just a class exercise. This is a real
strategy that you can start using in your small
business right away. Now, if you're ready,
let's start Lesson one, where we'll explore
what Chat G PT is and how it can help your
business. I'll see you there.
3. An Introduction to ChatGPT: Et's start with the basics. What is Chat GPT, and how can it help
your small business? If you've ever wished for an assistant to
brainstorm ideas, research your markets, or
just organize your thoughts, Chat GPT is that assistant. It's a powerful AI tool that makes complex tasks
faster and easier, saving you time and helping you focus on growing
your business. Okay. Chat GPT is an AI powered language
model developed by Open AI. Essentially, it's a
chat bot that can generate text based responses, answer questions, and help
you create or organize ideas. Think of it as a
brainstorming partner or research assistant
that's available 247. Chat GPT has evolved
significantly over time. The current version, GPT four is much more advanced
than earlier models. Offering smarter and
more accurate responses, it's part of a larger trend of AI tools transforming
the way we work. Businesses that
embrace these tools are now staying
ahead of the game. Let's talk about why Chat GPT is a game changer for
small business owners. Here are a few ways it
can help. Save time. Chat GPT can pull
together ideas or research that might take you
hours to compile manually. For example, you could
ask Chat GPT to suggest marketing ideas for a new
handmade jewelry business targeting eco
conscious customers. Chat GPT can also help you
with brainstorming ideas. If you need fresh
ideas for a campaign, Chat GPT can generate suggestions to help
you get started. So for example, you
might ask Chat GPT, what are five creative Instagram post ideas
for a coffee shop. Chat GPT can also help
you to simplify tasks. So for example, from drafting emails to creating
social media captions, it can help with simplifying everyday tasks can also help with assisting
you with research. So whether it's trends in your industry or
customer insights, Chat GPT can provide a
solid starting point. So for example, you
could ask Chat GPT. What are the latest trends in sustainable fashion for 2024? Chat GPT has both paid and
free options available. E version is great
for most tasks and fine for using
alongside this course. But if you're looking for
more advanced features like more in depth
responses or higher limits, you can explore the paid
version called Chat GPT plus, which runs on the
latest GPT four model. Now, here's the golden rule. Chat GPT is only as good as the instructions
that you give. Clear detailed prompts
lead to useful responses. While vague ones might
leave you frustrated. For instance, instead
of asking Chat GPT, what are some good
marketing ideas? You could instead say, I run a small business
selling handmade jewelry. My target audience is women aged 25 to 40 who value
sustainable fashion. What are some creative ways I can market my products online? Notice how I provided
context business, my audience, and my goals. This extra detail helps Chat GPT give me
tailored suggestions. And here's another pro tip. Give Chat GPT a role. For example, throughout
this course, we'll ask Chat GPT to act
as a marketing strategist. This will help to
frame its responses to be more focused and
relevant to our goals. Let's manage expectations. Chat GPT is a
fantastic assistant, but it's not a replacement for your own strategic thinking. What it is great for
is brainstorming, generating ideas
quickly, researching, pulling information together
fast and organizing, helping you to
structure your plans. But it can't run your
business for you. Think of Chat GPT as a
really smart assistant. It's great at helping
you to get started, but it's your
expertise that will make your marketing
strategy shine. One common misconception is
that Chat GPT can handle everything perfectly on its whilst it's incredibly powerful, remember, it's not
a mind reader. It works best when
you guide it with clear and specific instructions. Of course, chat
GPT isn't perfect. There are a few things to keep in mind throughout
this course. Chat GPT is not always correct. Always double check
and verify its output, especially for data or
industry specific advice. AI always works best when
coupled with the human example, hatGPT cannot
independently verify the accuracy of the
data it provides, and it may present incorrect or fabricated
information confidently. It sometimes invents references
citations or statistics, which are called hallucinations. ChatGPT also has
limited knowledge. So depending on the
model you're using, it may not have access to real time information
or the latest trends. So while hatGPT can access the web for real time
information when enabled, its core training data is static and doesn't
inherently up. Can lead to inaccuracies in
topics that evolve rapidly, for example, technology,
medical research, or politics. There are also
limitations in memory. So hat GPT has a
limited context window, which means earlier parts of lengthy conversations might
get forgotten or ignored. And as we've already explored, Chat GPT's output is highly dependent on the clarity
and detail of user input. So ambiguous or poorly
phrased questions can lead to irrelevant or
unsatisfactory answers. Let's recap what we've
covered in this lesson. Hat GPT is an AI tool that helps small businesses save time
and brainstorm ideas. Clear prompts and
detailed context are essential for
useful results. It's a tool to assist and not replace your strategic thinking. Always verify its output and
be aware of its limitations. Now you know what chat
GPT is and how it works, it's time to put it into action. In the next lesson, we'll
dive into situation analysis, which includes assessing where
your business stands and using Chat GPT to guide the
process. I'll see you there.
4. Situation Analysis With ChatGPT: Before you can build a
winning marketing strategy, you need to know where
your business stands. That's where a situation
analysis comes in. It's like creating a map
before starting a journey. You need to know
your starting point to figure out the
best path forward. A situation analysis is a structured way to assess your business's
current position. It helps you to identify
what's working, what's not working, and where opportunities or
challenges might lie. It typically includes your
business goals and challenges, what's going well
and not so well, insights into your competitors, customers, and overall market. This process is essential
because it gives you clarity. It helps you to
focus your efforts on what truly matters
for your business. One common framework for situation analysis
is a SWOT analysis. This stands for strengths, what your business does well, weaknesses, areas where
you could improve, opportunities,
external trends or factors you can
take advantage of, and threats, challenges or
risks you need to manage. For example, a bakery might
identify the following. Strengths, unique recipes, and a loyal local customer base, weaknesses, limited
kitchen space, or a lack of
catering experience, opportunities, growing
demand for event catering, and threats could
be competition from larger bakeries or food
delivery services. SWOT analysis is like a snapshot of where your
business stands right now. It's a powerful tool
for prioritizing your goals and focusing
your strategy. Creating a SWOT
analysis from scratch might take hours of
brainstorming and research. But with Chat GPT, you can
get a solid draft minutes. In this lesson, we'll focus
on the internal analysis, which is all about what's
happening inside your business. Start with these key
areas mission and values. So what drives your business? Business goals. What are
you trying to achieve? Challenges. What's
holding you back? What's working and not working? Reflect on your current
strengths and weaknesses. Once you're
comfortable with this, you can then expand into other areas like
current performance. How are you right now, competitors and target audience. Who are you up against, and who are you targeting? And customer insights. What do you know about
your customers so far? This information
can help you craft an overview of your business
or current situation, which can then be provided
to Chat GPT as context. Now, you might be wondering, what if I don't have
much information about my business yet? Don't worry, Chat
GPT can still help. You're just starting out, focus on your goals and challenges. For example, you could say, I'm a freelance designer
looking to grow my client base. My biggest challenge is
finding high paying clients, but I'm great at
building relationships. Chat GPT can then use this
basic input to help you craft a SWOT analysis and identify where to
focus your energy. Remember, you don't need to have all the answers up front. Just start with what you know. He. Let's take a quick
moment to reflect. Drop down the following
your main business goal. What are you trying to achieve over the next six to 12 months? Challenges. What's
holding you back? What's working and not working? List some of your
current strengths and weaknesses for
your small business. These will come in
handy when we use Chat GPT to create
your SWOT analysis. Now, I'll share an example
prompt that we can use with Chat GPT to conduct
an internal analysis, which we'll then go
through in more detail. I want to start with
the situation analysis of where my business is now. Act as a marketing strategist specializing in my industry, EG online education and
pretend you work for me. You are an expert
at what you do. Using the documents provided and my current
business overview, conduct a thorough SWOT
analysis of my business. Present the SWOT
analysis in a table with two to three detailed
bullet points for each category, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, if additional context is needed, ask clarifying questions
before proceeding. Focus on insights
that directly impact achieving my goal of
insert specific goal, list key takeaways and actionable suggestions
based on the SWOT analysis. In addition to this prompt, you will need to provide chat GPT with your
additional context, as much context as you
can about your business. Can upload files in the
paid versions of hat GPT, like Chat GPT plus. But if you're using
the free version, you won't be able to upload
files for detailed analysis. However, in the free version, you can copy and paste text
for hat GPT to analyze. Let's break down this prompt to understand why each
part is important. So the first part act as a marketing strategist
specializing in my industry. This gives Chat GPT
a role to play, helping it frame its response
in the right context. Using the documents provided and my current
business overview. This ensures hat GPT focuses on specific
relevant information. Remember, you can tailor this depending on which version
of hat GPT you have. So if you can't
provide documents, you can paste in your
current business overview, and then you can tweak
the prompt accordingly. A thorough SWAT analysis. This specifies the task you
want Chat HPT to perform. Present the SWOT
analysis in a table with two to three detailed bullet
points for each category. This ensures the
output is clear, structured, and
easy to interpret. If additional context is needed, ask
clarifying questions. This allows ChatPT to guide the process if your
input is incomplete. Focus on insights that directly impact
achieving my goal of. This makes the analysis
actionable and goal orientated. Feel free to tweak the prompt to suit your style or industry. Don't be afraid to try
different approach. I have created an example of some business context
for a pretend business. I have said, I'm a freelance marketing expert looking to grow my client base. My biggest challenge
is finding clients, and I have a lack
of time because I currently work
a full time job. I want to make my freelance
business full time. My target customers would be
small businesses in the UK. My strengths are that I have over ten years experience
in the industry, but I do have confidence
in my abilities. I currently market myself on social media,
mainly LinkedIn. I have 100 followers so far. I have a website, very little
traffic at the moment. I'm not sure who my
competitors are. Currently, I only have
two small clients, but it's not enough to
make full time income. After this, this context, you can paste in the
prompt that we had before. So it's the exact same prompt, but we would change the industry
to freelance marketing. And then we would change the
goal to the specific goal. So in this case, it would be increasing my Rlance lien base. So this is asking Chat GPT to use this information and
create a SWOT analysis. So as you can see,
Chat GPT has created the SWAT analysis based on the overview that
I pasted in here. It was only a brief overview, so the SWOT analysis
is not that detailed, but that just shows that the more detail you add
into your prompt, the more detail you'll get out. But this is still
a good starting point and it can still help to trigger some ideas that you
might not have thought of. So it's got some opportunities here growing LinkedIn
presence and how to do that, how to grow website traffic. And obviously, you
can go back to Chat GPT for more details. So if you wanted any of these
ideas to be expanded upon, you can then follow
up with Chat GPT and ask for a specific plan. If you wanted to
share your LinkedIn profile with Chat GPT, and you could ask Chat GPT
to audit that and to suggest specific content relevant for your industry or how you
could improve your page. So this is a good
starting point, and it will allow you
to delur into the areas that you want to add there are a few common mistakes
to watch out for. Providing vague prompts, which can lead to
generic responses. Always give as much
context as possible. Expecting Chat GPT
to do all the work. Remember, it's a partner,
not a replacement. Forgetting to refine the output to reflect your unique
business situation. Keep these in mind and you'll
get much better results. What we've covered today.
A situation analysis is essential for understanding where your business stands. A SWOT analysis is a simple but powerful framework
to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
and threats. Chat GPT can save
you time by helping you organize and analyze
your internal data. Providing detailed
context to Chat GPT is the key to getting valuable
insights. Now it's your turn. Use Chat GPT to help draft SWAT analysis
for your own business. Remember, Chat GPT is
a tool to assist you, not replace your expertise. Think critically
about what's relevant and tweak anything that
feels too generic. The more context you provide, the more useful the
analysis will be. If you feel comfortable, share your SWOT analysis in
the project gallery. In the next lesson,
we'll use Chat GPT to help analyze your
market and competitors. This will make your SWOT
analysis even stronger. I'll see you there.
5. Market Analysis With ChatGPT: Mm hm. Welcome to Lesson three. Now that we've analyzed your
business' internal position, it's time to look outward. Understanding your market
is key to staying ahead in today's fast paced
business world. But where do you start? That's where market analysis
and hat GPT comes in. Before we start, take 30
seconds to jot down what you think are the biggest trends or challenges in your
industry right now. Is it customer
behavior, rising costs, or maybe a shift
towards new technology? Hold on to these thoughts. They might align with what
we uncover using Chat GPT. Market analysis is a
process of gathering, analyzing and interpreting information about your industry. It helps to answer
questions like, what are the key
trends in your market? What external factors
might impact your success? Market analysis gives
you the context you need to make informed decisions
and seize opportunities. Think of market analysis as the foundation
of your strategy. It sets the direction
for everything else from identifying opportunities
to refining your tactics. Traditionally, market
analysis involves digging through
industry reports, scouring the web, and
compiling endless data. Chat GPT can help to
speed this process up by synthesizing
reliable information into actionable insights. If you already have data, whether it's sales reports,
customer survey data, or notes from customer research, you can even use hat GPT to identify trends or opportunities that you
might have missed. One key tool for market analysis
is the pestle framework. It helps you to evaluate the external factors
influencing your business, like political factors such as government policies
or regulations, economic trends like inflation
or consumer spending, technological factors such as innovations, shaping
your industry. For example, in the online
education industry, the rise of AI powered
learning tools would fall under technological while increasing demand for affordable courses
reflects economic factors. Organizing insights into
these categories gives you a clear view of
opportunities and challenges. And Mm hmm. So now we'll go through an
example prompt that you could use with ATEPT for
market analysis. So this is an
example prompt that I've used for my own business, and this can be adapted
for any industry. So the prompt is act as a marketing strategist
specializing in the online education
industry in the UK. Conduct detailed
industry research using reliable sources from
research companies only, such as Statista,
Mintel, McKinsey, or other credible
industry reports to identify key trends and developments expected to impact the online education
sector in 2025. Based on this research, perform a detailed pestle analysis,
political, economic, social, technological,
environmental, legal, with a focus on the UK
online education sector. Present the findings in a
comprehensive table format, and for each pestle factor, explain its relevance
to the industry, provide specific examples or data to support the analysis, offer actionable
insights tailored to businesses operating in the
online education space. Additionally, include
a brief summary of how the identified trends could
influence strategies for small businesses
targeting freelancers and small business owners in the
UK online education market. So here with this prompt, we are giving Chat
GPT a role to play. We're giving a lot of context on what the industry is on
who the target audience is, and we're giving very
specific instructions for the task and the output. So, yes, it may be
quite a long prompt, but that level of detail then ensures that you're
more likely to get a response that is useful and something
that you can work so I used this exact prompt on Chat GPT in relation
to my own business, which is in the online
education industry. And what it gave me
back was pretty good. It gave me some key
trends for 2025. It's used the reliable sites
that I've asked it to. So Statistic, Mackenzie
and Company for the stats, and then it's presented
a pestle analysis for my sector in a table. It's got the relevance
to industry, some examples, and some
actionable insights as well. So this again, is a really
good starting point for me to add into my strategy
and then refine it. And it's also got a
little summary here. Gives me some ideas on how I
can capitalize on this and what things I can do to address specific
opportunities in here, how I can overcome some of the risks that have
been identified, and then it's
listed the sources. So this output was a really
great starting point, but I would need to go
through check the sources, make sure the stats are correct. Also refine it further before I added it
into my strategy. Always make sure
that you check and verify the sources,
especially stats. And remember, if you
already have some data and research and you don't need to start from scratch like this, you can tweak the prompt accordingly to analyze the
data that you've already got. Don't be afraid to
experiment with different prompts until you're
happy with the response. It will never be perfect, but it's a really
great starting point, and it just helps to
save loads of time. So, in addition to
the pestle analysis, Chat GPT can also help with other areas of
market research, such as friend identification. So you could ask Chat GPT
something like what are three trends in the
online education market or your industry for 2025. You can ask CHAT GPT
to do a GAAP analysis, so you can ask what
unmet needs exist in my industry and how can
small businesses address them? And you could also ask Chat GPT to help with
scenario planning. So, for example, you
could ask something like if economic conditions
worsen in 2025, how might that impact?
Or businesses. Here's what we've
covered in this lesson. A market analysis is crucial for understanding external factors
affecting your business. A pestle analysis organizes these factors into
key categories. Chat GPT can save you time by analyzing trends and offering
actionable insights, but refining and verifying
its output is key. Now it's your turn.
Use Chat GPT to create a pestle analysis or identify key trends
in your industry. If you already have
some market research, then you could ask Chat GPT to use that in the
pestle analysis or to identify key trends Remember to share the output
in the project gallery. It doesn't need to be perfect. This is your chance to get feedback and refine
your strategy. Market analysis might
seem overwhelming, but with hat GPT, you have a powerful partner to
help break it down. In the next lesson,
we'll focus on using hat GPT for competitor
analysis. I'll see you there.
6. ChatGPT for Competitor Analysis : Every business operates in
a competitive landscape. To stand out, you need to understand who
you're up against, what they're doing well,
what they're missing, and how you can
differentiate yourself. This is where
competitive analysis becomes a game changer. And with the help of Chat GPT, you can make this process much faster and easier.
Let's get started. Competitive Analysis is
the process of researching your competitors to
gain insights into their strengths,
weaknesses, and strategies. It helps you to answer
questions like, Who are your key competitors? What are their unique
selling points or USPs? What gaps exist in the
market that you can fill? By identifying opportunities
and potential threats, you can refine your
strategy to stay ahead. Traditionally,
competitive analysis requires hours of research. Chat GPT, you can speed
this process up by summarizing large amounts of
data and identifying trends. For example, you can
ask Chat GPT too. Summarize a competitors
strengths and weaknesses based on their
website or reviews. Compare competitors in your industry based
on their pricing, offerings or branding, identify market gaps or opportunities
for differentiation. Here are some example
prompts that you can use to analyze
your competitors. Summarize the key offerings and unique selling points or
USPs of competitors name. Focus on their strengths
and any potential weakness. Compare the pricing
strategies of competitor A, competitor B, and competitor C. Highlight any
patterns or gaps. Analyze customer reviews for competitor's name on platform. Identify recurring
themes in what customers like or dislike
and summarize in a table. You can either
collect the reviews yourself using this approach, or you can use an AI tool
connected to the Internet. Based on competitors
names, website. What are three areas where my business could
differentiate itself. Now, you might be thinking, What if I don't know who my
competitors are? That's okay. Chat GPT can help
with that, too. You could use a
prompt like this. Act as a marketing strategist. Identify five competitors of my business and then put
your business in bracket. So in my case, a freelance skill share
marketing course creator and present the
information in a table. Analyze their current
strengths weaknesses, USPs, products, services offered,
target audience, company size, and social
media platforms used. Include links to their websites and any social media pages. This prompt helps you
to identify key players in your industry and organize the data in
a structured way. From there, you can
use the information to refine your strategy. Remember to give Chat GPT
as much information and context about your business as possible to get the
most from this prompt. Once you have a list
of competitors, you can then take it
a step further with a follow up prompt such as using the competitor
analysis data, create a SWOT analysis in relation to myself
and my business, include my strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, and threats
in relation to competitors. This summary not only
highlights where you stand, but also identifies
areas where you can improve or differentiate
yourself against competitors. Use this prompt on
my own business, and I just wanted to
share the results that it gave and also the
importance of being very, very specific in
what you're asking because I've done it a few times and I've got different
answers each time. So I asked it to identify five competitors
of my business, a freelance marketing consultant in the UK and present the
information in a table. So it identified some
competitors here, as well as links to their
social media and website. So now, this is really good
information for me now to go away and have a look at
each of these competitors. And then it's given me
some insights here, some opportunities that
I can differentiate myself and strategic focus. So that was me asking
it to identify competitors in the freelance
marketing consultant space. But then I asked it again to identify those ones that actually target small
businesses in the UK. So then it's given me some completely
different competitors, so it's narrowed it
down a bit more. So this is a little bit
more relevant to me. And then I even went a step further and asked it to identify people that do similar courses
to myself on skill share, and it's identified
some other teachers on skill share that
do similar courses, including strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, et cetera, and how I can
differentiate myself. So each scenario has given
me different answers. So that's why it's
really important to be super clear on exactly
what you're asking. What is your business?
What is your audience? Very, very specific because
you don't want to be going down a rabbit hole of competitors that aren't
relevant to you. So that's just something
to bear in mind. Now I can go a step further. Now I've got my table
of competitors. I can ask Chat GPT to
compare the offerings. So I've just picked the top
one here and this one here, and I've just said to compare the offerings of Emma
Drew and Marketing Tom, highlight differences in content pricing and target audience, suggest one way my
business can stand out. Very quickly, it's done a comparison of those
two competitors. It's put it all in a table, and it's focused on the
content, the depth, the product services,
the pricing, the target audience, delivery style
strengths, weaknesses. And then it's got
some differences, and then it's got how my
business can stand out. So it's offering me strategies
that I can do to stand out from these two
specific competitors. But obviously, you could do the same all of
these competitors, it's just a really useful way to get started and to
give you some ideas. While Chat GPT is a
great starting point and can save you so
much time in this area, always verify its insights. For example, cross check competitor details
on their websites, review third party reports or validate pricing
information directly. Are a few common mistakes
to avoid only focusing on direct competitors and
ignoring indirect ones. Assuming hat GPT's first
output is perfect, always refine and cross check. Getting to use insights from competitor analysis to
refine your own strategy. Here's a summary of what
we've covered in this lesson. Competitive analysis
helps you to understand your competition and
identify opportunities. Chat GPT can streamline
this process by summarizing data and
identifying trends. Always refine and verify hat GPT's outputs
to ensure accuracy. Using these insights,
you can refine your strategy differentiate
your business effectively. Now it's your turn.
Use Chat GPT to analyze at least one
competitor in your industry. Try one of these prompts. Summarize the strengths and weaknesses of competitor name. Compare the branding
strategies of two competitors. Identify a gap in
competitors names, offerings, and suggest how
your business could fill it. Once you've completed
your analysis, share one key insight
in the project gallery. In the next lesson, we'll focus on understanding your customers. You'll learn how to
use Chat GPT to create detailed customer
personas and uncover valuable insights
to connect with your ideal audience.
I'll see you there.
7. ChatGPT for Customer Analysis: Mm hm Your customers are
the heart of your business. The better you understand them, who they are, what they need, and how they behave,
the better you can tailor your products,
services and marketing. In this lesson, we'll
explore how to use Chat GPT to gain deep
insights into your customers. Whether you already have data or you're starting from scratch. Let's get into it. Before
we dive into hat GPT, let's start with what you already know
about your customers. Take 30 seconds to jot down
three things you know about. Could be their
demographics, challenges, or even how they typically
find your business. If you're unsure, that's okay. Chat GPT can help you
fill in the gaps. Customer analysis is the process of understanding who
your customers are, their motivations,
needs, and behaviors. It answers questions like
who is your target market? What problems are
they trying to solve? How do they interact with your brand or others
in your industry? By truly understanding
your customers, you can improve your message. Creating messaging that
speaks directly to them, create more targeted
products or services, build stronger relationships,
and drive loyalty, choose the right channels
to promote your brand. Traditionally, customer analysis involves conducting surveys, focus groups, or
reviewing customer data. While these are still valuable
and should still be used, Chat GPT can complement them
by organizing your data or generating customer personas based on trends or insights. Here's some ways that
hat GPT can help. Analyze customer feedback or survey results to spot
recurring themes. Summarize pain points or challenges based on
reviews or testimonials, generate detailed target
audience personas to help guide your strategy. Here are some example prompts you can use to analyze
your customers. Analyze these
customer reviews for recurring themes or pain points. Summarize the key
insights in a table. Based on this survey data, identify the top
three motivations for my customers and suggest how I can address these
in my marketing. Act as a marketing
strategist for a freelance marketing
course business. Outline my target audience based on industry
trends and create a detailed persona with demographics, motivations
and behaviors. Don't worry if you're
just starting out or don't have much
customer data yet. Chat GPT can help you to
define a target audience and create a customer persona based on broader
market insights. Why is this important? When you understand
your customers, you avoid wasting time and money on strategies
that don't work. Owners ensure that
every marketing effort speaks directly
to your audience. Here's an example of a
great starting prompt. Keep acting as an expert, marketing strategist for my
insert your company here. Based on your analysis so
far and industry trends, outline the target
market that has the most opportunity for me to market my courses
or services too. Create a target audience
persona with a name, gender, age group,
location, motivations, needs, pain points,
challenges, interests, behavior online,
favorite websites and social media sites. Present this in a table. This prompt provides a
foundational understanding of your ideal customer. From here, you can refine the persona as you
gather real world data. If you're creating
this strategy all in one chat session with
Chat GPT, that's fine. But if you're coming
back to this at a later date or
starting in a new chat, then because the prompt
references previous analysis, it might be worth resharing your analysis with Chat GPT
from the previous chat, you can either paste all
of this information into a Word document and
then attach it to your chat when you ask Chat GPT, this prompt, or you can paste it into the text box just
before the prompt. This will just
ensure that Chat GPT has the most up to
date information. So next here are just
three tips for making sure that your customer
persona is actionable. Focus on behavior
and motivation. So go beyond demographics
to understand why they need your product or
service. Beat specific. The more detailed your persona, the more actionable it becomes
and keep it realistic. Your persona should reflect actual customers and not
an idealized version. Here's an example of
persona that Chat GPT has created for my business using the prompt that
we've just been through. It's created a persona
called Emma Thompson, a female age 30 to 45. And the motivations
for Emma is that she wants to build a successful
sustainable business. She wants to gain confidence
in marketing strategies. She wants to attract
and retain clients, and she wants to learn modern actionable
digital marketing. She needs affordable and
beginner friendly courses. Her pain points are she's got a limited time and budget
for learning new skills. Once you have a clear
picture of your audience, you can then use Chat GPT to
segment them into smaller, more specific groups, which
can help with messaging. For example, I've
asked Chat GPT to break this persona down
into smaller groups. So, for example, in my case, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and freelancers,
because the three areas that it mentioned here would
be a good audience for me. Target. You can see here separated it out into
small business owners, which it's called the
Builders, freelancers, which is called the free agents and aspiring entrepreneurs, which is called
the Dream Chasers. So it's given each
persona a name, an age and motivations, needs, pain points,
challenges, interests, behavior, websites, and
some key messaging as well. So this could just help me when creating marketing assets. If I wanted to specifically target small business
with a specific course, then I can use different
messaging to if I want to target
lances, for example. Given me a summary
of each segment as well, which is really useful. Prompt that you
could use for this is for each audience segment, create a value proposition
and a key marketing message, include specific pain points, benefits, and a call
to action for each. You could ask hat GPT, which segment would be the
best for you to target. So which would offer
you the most impact? And I have asked Chat
GPT, that very question, and it recommends targeting the freelancers or
the free agents, and it's giving me some ideas of what I can do to
target that segment, why the freelancers
offer the most impact. And then it's done a comparison of the other segments as well. Obviously, this would be your own decision in terms of what segments you
want to target, but hatEPT can help you to make that decision and give
you some good guidance. It would also depend on
your competitors and where there is a gap in the market.
Your industry research. So you could also
ask Chat GPT at this point when you're asking which segment would
offer the most impact, also include your
competitor analysis and ask in terms of your
competitors as well. For example, when I asked
the question again, but asked Chat GPT to take into account the
competitor analysis and which demographic would help me to stand out
from competitors, it's changed its answer
to small business owners, and it's given me
some reasons why. And it also is saying how I can stand
out in this segment. And what about the
other segments? It's saying that, for example, while freelancers are easier to reach competitors already
dominate this niche, making it harder to stand out. This is why it's
really important to give Chat GPT as
much information as possible and as much
context as possible because this just shows that you can get completely
different answers, depending on how you
word the question and what information and
context you provide. Another thing is that
customer personas can then also help to guide you
with content creation. So, for example, you
could ask Chat GPT. Blog topics would resonate
with a specific persona. I've asked Chat GBT
what blog topics would resonate with Alex
Morgan, the freelancer, which is one of the personas
that Chat GPT created, and it's given me
ten blog topics that would resonate with Alex, the freelancer, focusing
on their key challenges, pain points, and interests. So for example,
Linked in marketing for freelancers, TikTok
for freelancers. And it's got some
other ideas as well. Then the next stage here is that you could use Chat GPT to then help with drafting an outline for one
of these blog posts. Whilst Chat GPT provides a great starting
point in this area, always validate its output
with real world data. For example, talk to actual customers and
ask for their feedback, review analytics
from your website or social media to confirm
audience behaviors, adjust personas or messaging based on what you learned
directly from your audience. Here's a summary of what
we've covered in this lesson. Customer analysis helps you to understand your audience
and tailor your offerings. Chat GPT can help you to
create customer personas, segment your audience,
and craft messaging. Always validate Chat
GPT's insight with real world data to ensure
accuracy. Now it's your turn. Use hat GPT to create a customer persona
for your business, segment your audience into smaller groups and develop
messaging for one segment. Once you've completed
your project, share one persona or messaging strategy in
the project gallery. In the next lesson,
we'll focus on setting smart objectives
for your strategy. In Chat GPT, you'll learn
how to craft clear, actionable objectives that align with your strategy.
I'll see you there.
8. Crafting SMART Objectives With ChatGPT: Every successful business
starts with a clear direction. That direction comes
from setting objectives, but not just any objectives,
smart objectives. In this lesson, I'll show
you how to use Chat GPT to create clear
actionable objectives that align with your
business goals. Let's turn your
ideas into action. So if you haven't heard
of smart objectives, they are essentially a
framework to help you to create objectives
that are specific. In clearly define what you
want to achieve measurable, as in they include criteria to track progress and
success achievable, to ensure the objective is realistic given your resources, relevant to make sure the
objectives are aligned with your overall business strategy
and goals and timebund. They include a deadline
to create urgency. For example, instead of saying, I want more customers, a smart objective would be
increase email sign ups by 25% in the next three months through a targeted
social media campaign. Smart objectives give
you clarity and focus, helping you to stay on
track and measure success. Letting smart objectives
can feel overwhelming, especially if you're juggling
multiple priorities. The insights you've gained from analyzing your situation and the market will make setting smart objectives much easier. You can use those findings
to guide your objectives. At GPT can help by organizing your ideas
into clear objectives, ensuring your objectives aligned
with the SMRT framework, providing examples
or suggestions based on your
businesses and needs. Here's a powerful
prompt to help you create and prioritize
your objectives. Act as a marketing strategist. Based on the research so far and my 2025 goals for my business, insert your goals here. Suggest up to five
smart objectives to help me meet my
overall business goals. Present the objectives in a table with the
following columns. Objective, how it
aligns with the goal, which goal it aligns with
priority level and time frame. Briefly explain
why each objective is prioritized in this order. The table format makes the
output clear and actionable. Including timeframes
ensures each goal is measurable and creates
a sense of urgency. Asking for prioritization helps you focus on what matters most. Here's an example
of this prompt in action and how I could use
it for my own business. So I copied the
prompt in and then I've added some goals
for my business. Now, these are just
example goals, not real goals, but just to give you an idea of how
this could look. So the first goal I've added is to transition from full
time employment to full time freelance work by the end of 2025 and grow
my email list by 20%. And then I've asked
for smart objectives to help me meet these goals. So here, it's presented the table in the
format we asked for. So it's got different
objectives, how it aligns with the goal, which goal each
objective aligns with, priority level,
and a time frame. This gives me everything
that I need to focus on over the
next 12 months or so, and it's got some prioritization
explanations as well. So this structured approach
has helped me to narrow my focus and set actionable deadlines for
achieving my objectives. Again, this is just a guide, and it all depends on
your specific goals, so what goals that you put here. And also any research that you've got so previous research, from the SWOT analysis, from the situation analysis, from the market and customer
and competitor analysis, you can give all of that to Chat GPT in this
section as well so that it's got all of the
background and it knows exactly what you want to achieve and what
you're working with. There are a few common
mistakes to watch out. Setting objectives that are
too vague or ambitious, setting objectives that don't align with your overall
business goals, forgetting to tie objectives
to measurable outcomes, overloading yourself with
too many objectives at once. Focus on quality over quantity. And remember, it's
better to achieve one great goal than
to half finish five. What we've covered
in this lesson. Smart objectives help you to set clear actionable objectives
for your business. Chat GPT can simplify the goal setting process and provide tailored
suggestions. Always prioritize your
objectives based on their impact and feasibility and include time frames
to stay on track. Remember, smart goals
aren't set in stone. Revisit and adjust them
as your business evolves or new opportunities
arise. Now it's your turn. Use Chat GPT to create one to three smart objectives
for your business, align with your business goals. Refine your objectives to ensure it aligns with
the smart framework. Prioritize your objectives to
focus on what matters most. Once you've crafted
your objectives, share them in the
project gallery. Sharing your objectives will inspire others and help
you to stay accountable. In the next lesson, we'll
explore segmentation, targeting, and positioning to refine how you connect
with your audience. I'll show you how to use
chat GPT to identify the best segments for
your business and craft messaging that
resonates. I'll see you there.
9. Positioning Your Business Wiith ChatGPT: Welcome back. Now that you've defined your audience
and set your goals, it's time to take the next step positioning your business. If you're starting from
scratch, don't worry. I'll guide you through creating a clear and effective
positioning strategy. And if you already know your positioning,
that's fantastic. In this lesson,
we'll explore how Chat GPT can help you refine, validate, and even enhance your strategy to ensure it
resonates with your audience. Positioning is about carving out your unique
place in the market. It's how you communicate
your value to your audience and differentiate yourself from your competitors. It helps to answer
questions like what makes your brand
or business unique? Why should your customers
choose you over someone else? How do you solve their
specific challenges? Developing a positioning
strategy can feel complex, but ChatPT helps to simplify
the process by helping you to identify your unique
selling proposition or USP. Tailoring your messaging to resonate with your
target audience, providing clarity on how to align your brand with
your customer's needs. And if you already have
a positioning strategy, hat GPT can help you to
validate and refine it. You can ask questions like, does my current positioning align with the needs
and challenges of my target audience suggest improvements to make
it more effective? A powerful prompt example
to help guide hat GPT. Continue to act as an expert
marketing strategist and using the research
from this chat and your expert knowledge of the
UK online course industry, create a positioning
strategy for the target audience
already identified, and then you'd insert
your target audience there looking to enhance their
digital marketing skills. How should I position
my business or brand in the market to appeal
to my target customer? What is my USP based
on your analysis? And if you already have
a positioning strategy, you can refine it further
with this prompt. Based on my current positioning, suggests three ways to
stand out further in the insert your market for 2025. Obviously, here,
you'd need to share your current positioning
strategy with Chat GPT so that it has all the
relevant information needed to be able to answer
this prompt effectively. Once you've defined or
refined your positioning, you can then use
Chat GPT to help craft messaging for each
segment of your audience. For example, here's
a prompt that you can use for creating
tailored messaging. Each of the target
audience segments, create a table with
core challenges, tailored messaging
and example messages. This prompt helps you to dig deeper into the needs
of your audience and ensures your communication
is relevant and impactful. So here's an example of me using the prompt that we've just been through on my own business. It's important to remind Chat GPT of the analysis
that it's already done. So if in this in a new
chat, for example, you will need to remind Chat GPT of the previous analysis. You can upload it into a Word file and attach it or
you can paste it all into the chat again because then your positioning
statement will be a lot more relevant and a lot more
accurate for your business. Be very, very explicit
with hat GPT and always tell it to use
specific information, specific data when prompting because otherwise the
response will be vague. For example, in my case, I did ask the prompt
in a brand new chat. The answer, whilst it was good, it wasn't as specific
to my business. Then I ask a prompt again, but related to the research that I'd already done because
I'm using a custom GPT, so I've uploaded all of my research already into
the knowledge files, and I do have a course on
that if you are interested. I asked it then to reference
the knowledge files. So I added that bit into say sing the research
from this chat, the knowledge files and your expert knowledge of
the UK course industry, create a positioning strategy, and this one was a
lot more relevant to me because it's
referencing my experience. I've got over a decade and it's being a lot more
personal to my business. You can see here it's given
me a positioning strategy, a core positioning statement, some unique selling points here, differentiators
from competitors, target audience and
positioning pillars. It's separated each audience out that it's
already identified, small business owners,
their pain points, the messaging that I could
use freelancers, again, pain points and
messaging that I could use for them and
aspiring entrepreneurs, and then it's got some strategic
pillars for positioning, and it has an implementation
plan as well and a messaging framework it's also referencing my
specific objectives. This is very useful. And again, as always
with Chat GPT, it's a great starting point. To go one step further, I can ask Chat GPT
to create a table for each of the target audience segments
with core challenges, tailored messaging
and example messages. So that just keeps it all tidy in one place so
you can see here, it's more business owners, some core challenges,
limited time, budget constraints
overwhelmed from managing multiple
marketing channels, whereas freelancers would maybe struggling to stand out
in a crowded market, difficulty finding
time to market their services while
delivering client work, uncertainty about
which marketing platforms work best for them, and then the aspiring
entrepreneurs are feeling overwhelmed with where to start their business, unfamiliarity with marketing
concepts and tools, limited resources for investing in professional
courses or services, and then it's got
tailored messaging for each group and
some example messages. Once you've crafted your
positioning strategy, it's important to
test for example, you could get feedback, share your messaging
with trusted customers or colleagues just to
make sure it resonates. You can AB test your messaging, use tools like email campaigns or social media ads to test different versions of
your messaging and see what works best and you
can refine based on data. For example, you could adjust your positioning as you gather feedback and learn more about what your
audience responds to. Here are some common mistakes
to watch out. Too broad. If you try to
appeal to everyone, you'll appeal to no one. Over complicating your message. Keep it simple and clear.
Ignoring feedback. Positioning should evolve based on what works in the real world. Here's a summary of what we've
covered in today's lesson. Positioning helps your business stand out and connect
with your audience. Chat GBT can help you craft or refine your
positioning strategy, USP and tailored messaging. Always test and refine
your positioning based on feedback and real world
results. Now it's your turn. Use Chat GPT to create or refine a positioning
statement for your business. Identify your USP and ensure it aligns with your
target audiences needs. Craft a messaging table
for each audience segment, including core challenges, tailored messaging
and example messages. Whether you're
starting from scratch or refining what
you already have, this exercise will
give you clarity and confidence in how you
position your business. Share your positioning
statement or messaging table in the
project gallery for feedback. In the next lesson,
we'll dive into tactics, how to put your
strategy into action. Learn how to use
Chat GPT to develop creative ideas and
actionable steps to achieve your goals.
I'll see you there.
10. Tactics! Putting Your Plan Into Action With ChatGPT: Now that you've defined your positioning and set your goals, it's time to focus on the how. This is where tactics come in. Tactics are the specific
actions you'll take to bring your strategy to life and achieve
your business goals. Before we start, let's
take a moment to reflect. Think about your current
marketing efforts. Are there specific tactics
that you've tried that worked well or areas where
you might feel stuck? Keep these in mind
as we explore how Chat GPT can help you to
create a detailed plan. Let's get started. Tactics are the specific actions
or steps that you need to achieve
your marketing goals. Think of them as
the practical tools in your marketing toolkits. For example, if your goal is to build your email list by 20%, your strategy might
be to focus on lead generation through
content marketing. Your tactics could include offering a free
downloadable guide, running targeted ads, and promoting the guide
on social media. Tactics are all about execution. They're what turn your
strategy into results. Ing your tactics can
be overwhelming, but hat GPT can help to
simplify the process. For example, Chat
EPT can help by suggesting creative
ideas tailored to your audience and goals, helping you to organize tasks
by priority and deadline, providing templates or
checklists to keep you on track. For example, you
can ask hatEPT to suggest three tactics for improving engagement
on Instagram. Help me to create a content calendar for the next quarter, draft an email campaign outline to promote a new course launch. There's an example
prompt that you can use to help create your
marketing tactics. Taking all research
so far into account, create a detailed marketing
plan for 2025 with marketing tactics
that align with the business goals and smart objectives
already identified, and you can insert
them here again. And that will appeal to
the identified audience, which you can also insert there. The budget is
insert your budget. Down the marketing plan into tasks with deadlines,
priorities, suggested tools, or
platforms to use and specify which smart objective
each tactic relates to. This prompt works
because it ties your tactics directly to
your goals and audience, ensuring everything is aligned. It also includes
smart objectives to keep your tactics
focused and purposeful. Asking for deadlines and priorities make the
plan actionable. Now I'm going to run
through an example of how I used this prompt
for my own business. So I went back to my
previous conversation with Chat GPT that I was having
about the smart objectives, and I pasted the prompt
into this window because then Chat GPT already has all of the information
that it needs. It has my smart objectives
that it suggested, and it has my
business goals here. I have put the prompt
in here and I said, taking all research
so far into account, create a detailed
marketing plan for 2025 with marketing tactics that align with the
business goals, and these were just
example goals. I pasted them in again
just in case and smart objectives already
identified are here, and that will appeal to
the identified audience of small business owners. So I've just reminded
Chat GPT of the audience, and the budget in my case is zero because I don't
have a budget. So then I've said, break
down the marketing plan into tasks with
deadlines, priorities, suggested tools or
platforms to use and specify which smart objective
each tactic relates to, which helps to keep the tactics focused on the objectives
that I would like to achieve. You can see that ChatGBT has developed a zero budget
marking plan with tactics to achieve
the goals that I've specified and adhering
to the SMART objectives. So let's have a look
what it's come up with. The first objective was to launch five skill share courses. So then it's got specific
tasks for that objective, deadlines, priorities,
tools needed, and which objective
it relates to. These are the tactics that I need to do for this objective, and then it's got the email
list growth objective and then some specific tactics. Creating a lead magnet, adding a sign up
form to the website, promoting the lead magnet
through social media, creating an automated
email sequence to onboard new subscribers, and then monitor the
email list growth and adjust messaging and then lines tools and the
related Smart objective, and then it's got the
digital product launch, and then it's got some tasks
exactly what I need to do. So brainstorming
ideas, designing, launching, et cetera, and
then social media growth. It's got creating a social
media content calendar, posting three times a week, sharing educational LinkedIn
posts twice a week, engaging with audience
by responding to comments and messages and collaborating with
small businesses, it's got deadlines
and priorities again. And then again, one
of the objectives it suggested was to secure
some freelance clients, and then again, it's
got tasks, deadlines, priorities, et and it's also got some monitoring and
analytics information, so tools to use to
monitor and how often. Now, this is obviously a
really good starting point. This is just an example of some example objectives
and how it could be used. It really helps to break
down each of the tactics, make sure that they're tied
to the specific objectives, and the prioritization, as well, helps you to prioritize
where to focus your efforts. First and the suggested tools
as well are really useful. For me, it can help to take the overwhelm out of how
am I going to start? Where am I going to get started? You can obviously as well
refine this with Chat GPT. So if the deadlines don't work or if you're not sure
about some of the tasks, you can obviously go
back to Chat GPT and then create a plan that's more aligned with what
you actually want. So once you've got your tactics, you can then go one
step further and ask help with individual tactics
from Chat GPT as well. For example, this objective
it's given me of reaching 1,000 Instagram followers and
500 LinkedIn connections. One of the tasks is to create social media content calendar. So I can ask Chat GPT
to help with that. I've just said, create
a content calendar for the next three
months to support my marketing goal of increasing Instagram and
LinkedIn connections, include topics, platforms,
and posting frequencies. It's pretty good. Chat
GPT has now given me some ideas for a three
month content calendar, and it has ideas for themes, ideas for post types as well, and it's separated it up by weeks and it's put
it all in table. This is really, really useful
as a small business owner, sometimes it's
really hard to find time to actually sit
down and think of ideas. This is really helpful
and it can take off that burden of trying
to think of what to post. Obviously, you can
go through add other ideas and
pad it out a bit. But yeah, it's really useful. As well, you can also go
back to Chat GPT and ask for more information on certain posts or if you're
not sure how to start, you can ask Chat GPT for
an outline of an article 0R some ideas for copy or some
ideas for images as well. Also remember as well, if any of your tactics
feel overwhelming, then you can use Chat
GPT to help break down the tactic
into smaller steps. For example, one of the tactics it's put here for
social media growth is to collaborate with small business creators
for cross promotions. E. I'm not sure where
to start with that, so I've asked Chat GPT, just reminded it here of
the tactic when I've said, help me divide this task into smaller manageable steps
with the deadlines. Now it's given me step by step of what I need to
do for this tactic. Step one, research, list ten to 15 small
business creators. It's got some actions of how to do that and
then a deadline, and then start interacting with the content and then it's
got things that I can do, then it's got another step to develop a collaboration pitch, another step here, another step. That really helps
to break it down. If you're not sure
where to start, that can be really
useful process as well. Remember, once you've created your marketing plan
with Chat GPT, you can then use tools
like Trello or Notion or Asana to help organize
tasks and set reminders. So for example, for this
particular tactic here, I've got some deadlines here
of things that I need to do, so I could copy this,
put it into Trello, for example, with the
deadline and a reminder, and then I could do that with each of these steps as well, which will make sure that
I actually get there are just a few common
mistakes to watch out for. Trying to do too much at once, focus on quality over quantity, and this is why it's
really important to ask Chat GPT to prioritize because then you can start with the higher priority tasks first and not get
too overwhelmed. Ignoring your
audience's preferences. So use tactics that align with their behavior and
overlooking metrics. Make sure that you
track your progress to ensure your tactics are working and
we'll be covering more on this in the next lesson. So here's a quick summary of what we've covered
in this lesson. Tactics are the specific actions that bring your marketing
strategy to life. Chat GPT can help
you brainstorm, plan and prioritize tactics tailored to your
goals and audience. Always link your tactics
to smart objectives to ensure they're purposeful and impactful. Now
it's your turn. Use Chat GPT to create a detailed marketing
plan for your business, including specific
tactics, deadlines, priorities, and the smart
objective each tactic supports. Refine your plan to ensure it aligns with your
goals and budgets. Once you've completed your plan, share one tactic or a summary of your plan
in the project gallery. This is a great way to get
feedback and inspire others. The next lesson, you'll
learn how to use Chat GPT to monitor
your progress. In short, your
marketing efforts are delivering the outcomes that you want. I'll see you there.
11. Identifying Metrics With ChatGPT: Setting goals and
executing tactics are essential steps in
your marketing strategy. But how do you know
if it's all working? That's where tracking
results comes in. In this lesson, I'll show
you how to use Chat GPT to identify the key
metrics that you should be measuring
for each objective. How often to measure them and the best tools to
track your progress. Let's get started. Tracking
results is what turns your strategy into a cycle
of continuous improvement. This helps you to identify what's working and
double down on it, spot inefficiencies and
make adjustments and stay aligned with your goals and ensure your efforts
are delivering value. Metrics like conversion rates
or email open rates are often called KPIs or key
performance indicators. These are the metrics
that tell you whether your marketing efforts are
on track to meet your goals. Without tracking, you're
essentially flying blind. Metrics give you the
visibility that you need to make data
driven decisions. Chat GBT can simplify
this process by recommending the most
relevant metrics for each goal and tactic. Suggesting tools to
track these metrics e organizing your
tracking schedule so you know what to
measure and when. For example, you
could ask hat GPT, what metrics should I track to evaluate the success
of my email campaign? Suggest free tools for tracking website traffic and
social media engagement. Create a weekly report template
for my marketing KPIs. Here's an example of
a prompt that you can use to identify metrics, tracking frequency, and tools. Based on all the research
and analysis so far, for each smart
objective identified, suggest a list of metrics
to measure success. Include how often these
metrics should be tracked. What tools are best
suited to measure them. Present this information in a table format. Why this works? It connects metrics directly
to smart objectives, ensuring everything you
track is meaningful. Asking for frequency
and tools makes a tracking process
actionable and manageable. Here's an example of how I use this prompt for my
own smart objectives. So I've gone back into the
conversation with Chat GPT, where we were talking about the objectives and the tactics, and I've pasted in the prompt that we've
just been through. So based on all of the research
and the analysis so far, for each SMART
objective identified, suggests a list of metrics
to measure success. Include how often these metrics should be tracked and
what tools are best suited to measure
them and present this information in a table.
So that's what it's done. So it's got the objectives. Already identified, and
then it's got the metrics, the frequency, and the tools. For example, the
first objective was to launch five skill
share courses. The metrics to measure are enrollments, student engagement, retention rates,
revenue generated, new followers gained
from course promotions, and then it's got the grow your email list to
500 subscribers, then it's got the total
number of subscribers, conversion rate of
lead downloads, open and click through
rates for email campaigns, engagement with automated
email sequences, and it's got the four
digital products objective to track
the total sales, the conversion rate,
the customer feedback, and the page views,
and then it's got some suggestions of
how to track it. So Instagram insights,
LinkedIn Analytics, Google Forms, Google
Analytics, for example. And then for the social media one, it's got follower growth, engagement rate, Link
clicks content reach again, this is really useful as each
metric is tied to a tactic, making it clear what
success looks like. Also, having the
tracking frequency here as well ensures that you stay on top of the performance without getting too overwhelmed, and the suggested tools
are really useful as well to help streamline
the tracking process. Tracking metrics is only effective if you use
the data to improve. Here are a few
tips Start simple. Focus on one to two key metrics per tactic to avoid
information overload. Set benchmarks. Use
industry standards or past performance
to set expectations. Adjust as needed. If a metric isn't providing
valuable insights, refine your tracking approach. To save time, consider automating your tracking
wherever possible. For example, tools
like Google Analytics, Mailchimp or Meta Ads Manager can generate automatic reports. Once you've started tracking, organize your data in a way
that's easy to understand. Platforms like Google
Sheets or Notion can help you to visualize
trends and spot patterns. For example, a
simple dashboard can help you to understand
what's going on in a glance. Finally, remember to
act on your data. For example, if your email
campaign has a low open rate, you could use chat GPT or other AI tools to help
brainstorm subject lines. Are a few common mistakes
to watch out for. Tracking too many
metrics only focus on those metrics that
align with your goals. Ignoring trends, look
for patterns over time, rather than focusing on one off results and
failing to act. Data is only valuable if you
use it to make improvements. Here's a quick summary of what we've covered
in this lesson. Tracking metrics
is essential for measuring the success of
your marketing efforts. Chat GPT can help you to
identify relevant metrics, determine tracking frequency,
and recommend tools. Always use your data to refine your tactics
and improve results. Automation and visualization can make tracking easier
and more effective. Now it's your turn.
Use Chat GPT to identify the key metrics to track for your smart objectives. Create a table that
includes metrics, tracking frequency, and
tools for each tactic. Set up your tracking
system using the tools Chat GPT recommends. Once you've completed
your project, share one example of your tracking table in
the project gallery. In the final lesson, we'll
bring everything together. I'll show you how to compile
all your strategy, research, and tactics into a
cohesive marketing plan that you can start using right
away. I'll see you there.
12. Bringing It All Together! Your Marketing Strategy: We've covered a lot
in this course, from analyzing your business and market to defining
your audience, setting smart objectives, crafting tactics, and
tracking results. You now have all
the tools to create a powerful marketing strategy. Before we jump into
finalizing your strategy, take a moment to reflect. Review all the work
you've done so far, your analysis,
goals, and tactics. What stands out to you? What are you most excited to implement? This reflection will
help you to focus as you bring everything together
into a cohesive strategy. Okay. The marketing strategy is your roadmap to achieving
your marketing objectives. It's an overarching
framework that combines your business
and market analysis, your target audience personas, your smart objectives,
your key tactics, and your metrics for
tracking progress. Your marketing strategy sets the direction for
all your efforts, ensuring that everything you do aligns with your goals
and your audience needs. It provides the why and the
what for your marketing. Analyzing your strategy
can feel overwhelming. But Chat GPT makes it easier by helping to organize
and refine your work. For example, you
can ask Chat GPT to summarize your strategy
into an executive overview, combine all your insights into a clear and
professional framework, suggest ways to make
your strategy visually compelling using tools like
Canva or Google Slides. For example, here's a
prompt you could use. As a professional
business strategist. Using the research and outputs we've created
throughout this chat, draft a comprehensive marketing
strategy for my business. Include an executive
summary, SWOT analysis, target audience details,
smart objectives, tactics, and metrics
for tracking success. Format it clearly and
concisely for easy sharing. Some tips to ensure
your marketing strategy is professional and effective. Keep it concise. Your strategy should be easy to
understand at a glance. Use visuals. Tables, charts, and infographics can make complex information more
digestible. Make it sharable. Save your strategy in
multiple formats such as a PDF or presentation
deck for flexibility. Even ask Chat GPT to recommend
a design tool or layout. For example, you
could ask suggest a visually appealing template for presenting a
marketing strategy. Here's an example of Chat GPT's marketing
strategy for my business. I use the prompt that
we just talked about, and it's created a concise
marketing strategy, consolidating all
of the information that we've been through
in each of the lessons. It's got an executive
summary and SWOT analysis. It's got the target audience, it's got my smart objectives. It's got the tactics and it's got the metrics
for tracking success, and then it's got a timeline, which is really useful because it's broken
it down by quarter. So it makes it really
clear what I need to achieve by when and where I need to focus
my efforts first. And then it's got some
takeaways as well. This is really useful
at bringing everything together clearly so you
know where to focus. Obviously, this can be
shared in a Word document or a PowerPoint presentation or however you'd want to share it. You can obviously tweak
it as well if there's things missing or anything
else you want to add in, but it's a really
good framework, and it really helps to
bring everything together. Obviously, if you've
already your research, your objectives, your audience
analysis, and everything, you could always give all of that information to
Chat GPT and then ask Chat GPT to formulate a marketing strategy out of your existing information
that you already have, and you can use the
prompt in a similar way, but obviously just tweak it a quick summary of what we've
learned in this course. This course, we have built a solid foundation
with business, market, and customer analysis. We've defined clear
actionable smart objectives. We've created impactful tactics to bring your strategy to life. We've learned how to track results and make data
driven decisions, and then we've compiled
everything into a cohesive marketing strategy that you can implement
immediately. It's your turn to finalize
your own marketing strategy. For the final class
project of this course, I'd like you to use Chat
GPT to summarize the work you've done
throughout the course into a complete
marketing strategy. Organize your strategy
into sections, including an executive summary, analysis, objectives,
tactics, and metric. Add any visuals or
design elements to make your strategy easy
to understand and share. Once your strategy is ready,
upload a section of it, such as your executive summary or tactics to the
project gallery. While you're there,
take a moment to review other students submissions
and leave feedback. It's a great way to learn
and refine your approach.
13. Final Thoughts: Congratulations on
completing this class. Thank you so much for joining
me on this journey to craft your very own marketing strategy with the help of hat GPT. I really hope that
you feel empowered and ready to put your
strategy into action. Let's quickly recap what
we covered in this course. We started with a
situation analysis to understand your
business's current position. Then we explored market and customer analysis to identify your opportunities
and ideal audience. You defined smart objectives, crafted impactful
tactics, and learned how to track your progress
using clear metrics. Finally, we brought
everything together into a cohesive marketing strategy you can implement immediately. If there's one thing that I hope you take from this class, it's that a clear, actionable marketing strategy is
within your reach. When I started my own business, creating a marketing
strategy felt overwhelming. But over time, I realized it's about breaking it down
into manageable steps. Tools like Chat GPT can help
make it so much easier. I hope this course has shown you that you can do this, too. And remember, while Chat
GPT is a powerful tool, it's just a tool. It can save you time and
help you brainstorm. But the strategy
and decisions still need your unique
insights and expertise. When you combine your knowledge with Chat GPT's capabilities, that's where the magic happens. Now it's time to make it happen. Don't forget to
share a section of your marketing strategy
in the project gallery. So if you've enjoyed
this course, it would mean so much to me
if you could leave a review. Reviews not only help me
to improve future classes, but also help other students
to discover this course. And if you want more
tips or insights, be sure to follow me here on Skill Share or on social media. Finally, remember that
your marketing strategy isn't a one and done deal. It's a living document. Keep revisiting and refining
it as your business grows, and don't be afraid to
experiment along the way. Thank you so much for
joining me in this class. I can't wait to see the
amazing marketing strategies that you create and the impact they'll have on your businesses. I'll see you in the next
class. Bye for now.
14. Bonus Lesson: Using Deep Research in ChatGPT: Hello, and welcome to this bonus lesson all about
deep research in Chat GPT, which is a powerful new feature that can help save you loads of time with the research elements of your marketing strategy. So, for example, with areas like market analysis or
customer analysis. Just a quick note before
we get started that the deep research
feature in hat GPT is only available at the moment on the paid plus and pro
versions of Chat GPT. And it's also only available
in certain countries. So I'm currently
using the P plan, which is about $20 a month. And this includes ten deep
research queries per week. If you do have access, I highly recommend
checking it out. If you don't currently
have access to it, then I'd still
recommend watching this video so that when
and if you get access, then you'll know how to use it. So what is deep research? Deep Research is Open AI's
next generation assistant that conducts in depth
research on your behalf. You give it a prompt, and then
hat GPT, searches the web, analyzes hundreds of sources, and then synthesizes
the information into a structured report. This is all powered by
an advanced version of the upcoming Open AI oh three model optimized
for web browsing, data analysis, and
critical reasoning. It can even adjust and pivot its research based on the
results that it encounters. Almost like having a digital research analyst on your team. So why is this useful
for marketing? Well, if you've
taken this course, you'll know how
important research is to any marketing strategy, whether it's understanding
your audience, checking out competitors
or spotting trends. Deep research can support
that work by helping you. Discover real questions that your target audience is asking. Identify pain points that small businesses
face in marketing. Find gaps or opportunities
in your niche. Perform competitor or market
research more thoroughly. So how do you use it? Let's
have a look in more detail. First, you'd want to log
into Chat GBT as normal, and then you can
see here there is a option for deep research. Then you would
choose this option when composing your message. So if you click Deep
Research first, and then you can ask
whatever you want. Here, I've typed in
what questions are small business owners asking
about social media strategy. Just like with regular Chat GBT, it's really important to be specific with what you're asking Chat GBT do just so that you get the most
useful response. So instead of asking what questions are small
business owners asking, you might want to specify specific area you're
talking about. So maybe I would put in the UK. I also might want to specify what sources I want
Chat GPT to use. So I might say use
forums, read it, industry reports and
social media comments. Then another thing
that's good to do is to also state the
timeframe that you want the Chat GPT to research
because otherwise it might look at data that's too
old and then not relevant. I would probably say only use data from the last two
years, for example. Obviously, you can
change it depending on what you are
actually looking for. We might want to put
reputable industry reports, social media comments, only use data from the last two years. Now, if I click Submit. Now it's asking for
more information. If you do leave anything out, it will ask for
follow up questions. So I might want to say I
want a general overview, and I want to focus on B to C. And then it will go away
and do the research. You can see there's
a progress bar here. Once you've submitted
the question, it can take 5-30 minutes
depending on the complexity. So you can go away,
make a cup of tea, go and do something
else in the meantime, and then Chat GPT will send you a notification once it's done, the final output will be a highly comprehensive report that it will put directly in the let's have a look at an
example of how I've used Chat GPTs deep research
for my own business. So I've logged into Chat GPT. I've clipped on deep research, and then I entered
the following prompt. Hello, I'm a small
business that creates marketing courses for small
business owners in the UK. I create courses on Skillshare. I also create digital products
to help small businesses. I would like you to
do some deep research on my target customers, so small business
owners in the UK to find out what their key
marketing challenges are. Please focus on data from
the last two years only. What questions do they ask? What areas of marketing
do they need help in? This will help me to refine
my offering and appeal to my audience let me know if
you need any further details. So just remember to not
be overly broad here. In this prompt,
I've tried to give as much background and
context as possible. You can upload files here. So if you wanted to, you could upload a background
about your business to give Chat GPT more context or maybe a background
about customers. I've also asked Chat GPT to focus on data from
the last two years. Previously, I forgot
to state that, and some of the data that Chat GBT brought back was quite old and
not really relevant. So that's quite important. Then you can ask
ChatGPT to follow up with further
questions if it needs further details. But
generally, it does that. It's asked me some questions
to get a bit more detail, and then I provided
the answers to those questions and then
started on the research. I took about 13 minutes to
do it. You can see here. So if we have a look at what Chat EPT has generated
here, it's really detailed. It's generated quite
an in depth report, so you've got an introduction. It's made sure that it's
used the recent data. It's then got sections. So the first one is common
marketing challenges for new entrepreneurs, and then it's separated
by bullet points, so it's gathered
data and summarized the main challenges that
new business owners face. Some of them are
winning new customers, limited time,
budget constraints. Marketing knowledge gaps
and low confidence, choosing the right channels, content creation,
keeping up with trends, measuring results, limited
marketing support. And then it's got
a little summary. And there's sources throughout, so I can click on the
source and follow it up and see how reliable it is and also to see
further information. And then it's got frequently asked questions by
new business owners, and this is really
valuable because it's through forums like read it and actually pulled out real life quotes from
the target customer, which is just so valuable. And it's just as if I went to interview my target audience, without having to
actually do that or having to look through
all of the forums myself. So it's just really good at consolidating information in a fast W. You've got here new business owners are asking what marketing strategies
should they use? How can they attract
more customers? How do they market their
business on a small budget? Should they hire a
marketing professional? How do they use specific
marketing channels? How do they create
enough content? How do they know if their
marketing is working, it's got real live comments
to back up these points, which is really,
really helpful and it's got links to
the forums as well. I've actually signed up on some of these forums as a result. So I can now go away and do
further research myself. And then it's got here as well, top areas where help is sought. So Search Engine Optimization
SEO is at the top, and then it's got the
list of the other areas. So this is really useful
for me because obviously, I can use this to decide what topic I would
want to do my courses on or what topic I want to focus
my digital products and my content around to be the most helpful to my
target audience. And then it's got where they
go to seek marketing help, you've got online communities
and forum YouTube. Again, YouTube is not really
a channel that I use. So this says to me that YouTube would be useful for
me to start putting more videos on there if my target audience is there and looking for help
on that channel. And then it's got
search engines, social media, courses, special
networks like LinkedIn. And then it's got
a whole section on pain points and
opportunities, as well, so I can go through
and look at where the opportunities are
to produce a report of the steps in just 13 minutes
is just so impressive, and this would have taken
me days to do myself. The main benefit, I
think, is giving you a starting point and
saving time in your asks. So now let's go back
and have a quick look at the question
we asked earlier, which was about what questions
small business owners are asking in the UK about social media strategy
specifically. This come back it took
14 minutes to do. While I was recording
this course, it was doing that
in the background. It's produced a similar report, and the questions that
people are asking, especially BTC firms are here. What content will
engage my audience? They're struggling
with content ideas. How can I consistently
create content? How should I post
on each platform? Then you can see, it's
got a link to read it, so you can actually
click through and see the original com people are asking what social platforms
they should focus on? Should they be on
every platform? Can they skip some platforms? How do they increase followers? How do they approach
paid social media ads? How do they measure success? Should they work with
influencers and how? Is social media worth it? And then it's listed all
the sources at the end. If you're in the business
of social media strategy, then it is really useful
because this can help you to decide what content
you're going to create, what will engage your audience. These are the
questions that they're asking consistently online. So you can provide content
courses, blog posts, for example, on these
specific topics to help this audience. How is this deep research
different from regular hat GPT? While the regular GPT model can simulate research or
generate summaries, deep research actually pulls
real time data from the web. This means that it has
more reliable sourcing, greater context, and better synthesis across
multiple sources. However, it's not perfect. Like with any AI tool, deep research still has some quick can hallucinate
or misinterpret data, although it's more accurate
than regular hat GPT. This is why it's super
important to always fact check the sources that
Chat GPT provides, make sure that they're credible, up to date, and accurate, especially if you're
going to be using them as part of research
for your business. Sometimes it may
struggle to evaluate credibility and can use
unreliable sources. This is why it can be a
good idea to specify to Chat GPT specific sources
that you want it to use. It's not great at expressing uncertainty even when
information is inconclusive. Reports may also have minor formatting issues
or delayed start times. However, this feature is
still in development, so I'm sure that these things
will improve over time. They're just things
to be aware of. Despite these limitations, I found this tool
incredibly useful, especially as a starting
point for research. Let me know in the project
discussion, if you try it out, I'd love to hear how you use it in your own marketing plan.
