2. Improtant Things to help you improve your Design Skills: Hi, and welcome to
this next section, where we're going to
look at important things to help you improve
your design skills. So this section should help
you with your design skills, even if you're a beginner and you don't know how
to get started. So in this first lesson, we're going to have a look
at some different templates and this should give us
inspiration for our designs. And after this, we'll look at some questions and
then start designing. Okay, so let's get started. The first important thing
we're going to look at is the different
design styles. For example, banner templates, book templates, and
presentation templates. So let's now have a look at few of these different
design templates, which should give
you inspiration and ideas for creating
your own designs. Okay, so let's have a look
at these banner templates. So you can view and edit
different banner templates from many free websites such
as Canva and Free Pick. These banner templates
you can see on this page, though are from Free Pick. Let's now have a look
at some book templates. So these book templates are
also from free pick.com, and you can see there's some
really nice designs here. And now let's have a look at
some presentation templates. So these presentation templates are all about pets
and vegan food. These templates here
are from canva.com. Okay, so there's a quick introduction into
some templates. In the next video, we're
going to ask ourselves some important questions
before we start designing. So thanks for watching

3. Important Questions to Ask Ourselves Before we Start Designing: Okay, so now let's have a look at some important
questions to ask ourselves before
we start designing and also what it takes
to create a good design. So let's get started. So for this example,
we're going to look at designing a logo
for a plant shop. Before we design, let's ask
ourselves these questions. So what are the signature
colors of this company? What do you see when you imagine plants or the environment, which colors should
be used for the logo? And which words can be used
for this company or the logo? Okay, let's now answer
these questions, and then we'll start to design
a logo for the plant shop. Okay, let's now
answer question one, which is, what are the signature
colors of this company. So for this, the
company's signature color is by no surprise green. But let's think about what
exact shade or type of green. I'm thinking of a grassy
leafy type green, so a kind of duller green
that's not too bright. So this will remind
people of plants rather than a bright un
natural looking green. We'll look at this in
detail later on though. Okay, let's now
answer question two, which is, what do you see when you imagine plants
or the environment? So for me, I think about Earth, plants, soil, trees,
grass, rivers. Let's now answer question three, which is what color should
we used for the logo. I'm thinking of using a dull leafy green for the
plants and trees, and then an earthy brown for the soil and a sea
blue for the river. Okay, let's now answer
question four, which is, what words can we use for
the company or a logo? So for this, I'm going to write down the name of the plant shop. This is just an example. This
plant shop doesn't exist. But for this example, I'm going to use two different
plant shop names. So for this, let's go with a Wass plant shop and
the greenery corner. So if you want to come up
with your own logo design, I do recommend asking yourself some questions before you start. Okay, so that's the

4. Let's Create a Logo: Okay, so in this video, we're going to go
through the answers that we just looked at
in the last video. But this time we're
going to make a logo design from
these answers. So if you remember question one, this was, what are the signature
colors of this company? For this, we said a duller
green that's not too bright. There are many different
shades of green, but the green color I'm
going to use will be this color code, A four, c032. So for this, I don't want
a bright looking green, I want a natural looking green. So I think this color
fits with the image of a plant shop and is quite a
natural plant looking color. Okay, let's just go back to
the second question again, which was, what do you see when you imagine plants
or the environment? So remember the
answers were earth, plants, soil, trees,
grass, and rivers. So here, I've found some logo templates that I think
represent my answer. So we've got these images from
Canva and also free pick. So recommend searching
and finding images that you can use to help inspire
your own logo design. So for these examples, I've found some earth
and plant templates that we can use for inspiration. Let's now have a
look at some soil and tree templates that
are found as well. Some of these are just graphics, but some of them
have text as well. Okay, and then we have
some river templates. So after looking at these different designs and templates, hopefully, now we've
got some ideas that we can use for
our own template. We do also want to make
our design unique, so I won't copy any
of these designs, but we can take inspiration
and ideas from these designs. Okay, let's now have a look at the answer to the
third question, which was, what colors
should we used for the logo. So I want to use
three main colors, one color to represent
plants and trees. So this will be a
dull leafy green. Then I want a color to
represent the soil, so this will be an earthy brown. Then I want a color to
represent rivers and the Earth, and this will be
a sea blue color. We can also use black
and white for the text, which can help make the
font or design stand out. However, I recommend only using around three or four
colors in your design, excluding black and white. If you use too many
colors in your design, then it may be too much, and it may make your design
look a bit messy. Okay, let's now have a look at the answer for the
next question, which was, which words can we use for the company or logo? So the first name we came up
with is Oasis plant shop. I chose the word Oasis. Oasis is where water
is found in a desert, and Oasis also means a calm or peaceful area in the middle of somewhere
busy or unpleasant. So I think this word gives
a shop a nice meaning as this name can feel peaceful
and special to the customers. Okay, so now let's
have a look at the logos are designed
for this plant shop. As I said, the name
is Oasis plant shop. So for the first logo, I used the green and brown colors that we selected before, and I also included a
small plant that might be similar to what customers
can purchase at the shop. Let's now have a look
at the second logo. Here I have two
different variations, and for this, I have
some different plants. This design also uses the
same colors and is similar to a badge that
someone might sew on a clothes or a sports badge. I wanted to create more of
a symbol that someone might want to have as a badge or
even as a T shirt design, which the shop could
potentially use in the future. Then we've got the third logo. Again, we have two
different variations. We've also got the
name of the shop in the round badge design. This time we have
two shades of green, and I think these
work well together, and it seems like these green
colors are from plants. And we also have the same images here that we've already used. Okay, let's now have a
look at the next example. You may remember
the other name of the shop was the
greenery corner. So greenery means green plants or branches uses decoration. So if a name like this,
people will think the shop has something to
do with plants or trees. Then we have the word corner. I like having the word corner
in the name of the shop. This makes your shop feel
very local and inviting, like it's a corner shop
from the neighborhood, and people often like supporting their local businesses rather than large retail chain stores. Okay, so now let's have a look at the four
logos we designed, but the greenery corner shop. The first logo has an
earth globe that is all green and looks like the sea
has become grass or plants. Then we've got plants coming
out the top of the earth. So from this, people will
know it's a plant shop. Then we've got the name
of the shop below, following the shape
of the globe. Okay, let's now have a
look at the next design. For this, it's similar
to the previous design, but the name of the shop is on a ribbon that's on the earth. The color of the ribbon is blue, which is meant to be a similar color to a river or the sea. Okay, let's now have a
look at the third design. Here we have the Earth as well. But this time, we're using more realistic colors
for the Earth. However, we've got
soil and the plant, grown out the top of the earth. For this, people should be able to tell that we care
about the planet, and we want to plant
more trees or plants. And this is also a shop
that sells trees or plants. We also have a ribbon
banner that has the shop's name following the
curve of the earth below, which is an earthy
brown soil color, which again follows the
theme of trees and plants. Okay, then we've got
the fourth design which shows someone
holding a small plant. It looks like they're trying to protect this plant
or help it grow. This design gives an idea
of unity and to govern us, where we have a common goal of planting more trees or plants. Then we have the
name of the shop in the brown banner
ribbon below, which again is in a
sole brown color. Okay, so there are some logo
designs for the two shops. I hope you like some
of these designs, but a lot of this is subjective, as you may like some designs,
and other people may not. So when you create a design, I do recommend thinking about the message of the
product or company. As I said before, I
don't recommend having too many colors and trying
not to overcomplicate things, or you may make your
design look too messy. So go out there and
design your own logos and images and have fun doing
it and see it as art, and don't worry if
you do anything wrong or make any bad designs. You can always make more, and you can change what
you've designed. So remember to keep
practicing and to critically analyze your designs to help

5. Choosing Colours: Hi there, and welcome to this
video where we're going to look at choosing colors
and color schemes, and I'll also give you
some tips and advice about choosing the best
colors for your design. So it's important to be concerned about what
colors to choose for your designs as they
can give you a lot of feelings and emotion
to the product or image. Colors can also tell you about certain styles or
periods of time. So you can see here we have vintage style colors
from the 1950s era. We also have retro neo style
colors from the 1980s era, and then we have modern
colors from the present day. So let's just ask
ourselves this question, how many colors is best
to h in one design. There is no one answer for this, but I do think less is more. So I recommend using around three to four
colors for your design. If you have too many
different colors, then it may confuse people about the meaning of your design. Also, using the same tones
can work well together, and if you have fewer colors, then it's easy to control
these colors and tones. Remember, creativity is
important for design, so nothing is wrong or right. Just have fun of it
and focus on gaining new skills and experience to
help you improve at design. Okay, so now let's
have a look at some essential color theory
to help with your designs. Let's now have a look
at primary colors. So there are three
primary colors, red, yellow, and blue. When you mix these together, you create the secondary colors. And then when you
mix the primary with the secondary colors, you get the tertiary colors. Let's first have a look at
the secondary colors though. So again, we get
these from mixing the primary colors of
red, yellow, and blue. So when we mix red and yellow
together, we get orange. When we mix yellow
and blue together, we get green, and when we mix red and blue
together, we get purple. Again, when mixing the primary
with the secondary colors, we get the six tertiary
colors, and these are red, orange, yellow, orange, yellow, green, blue, green, blue
purple, and red purple. Now let's talk about warm
colors and cool colors. Let's first look at warm colors. These tone colors give
the feeling of hot, excited, active,
lively, and angry. Now let's talk
about cool colors. These tone colors give
the feeling of cool, relaxed, peaceful, and fresh. Okay, now let's talk
about how to use warm colors and cool
colors in your design. So there are two ways that
you can use these colors. Firstly, only choose colors
that have the same tone. And secondly, use the 80 20 rule if you want to use both
warm and cool colors. Let's have a look at the
first one in more detail. So for your design,
you should only choose the colors in the
same tone as this can help the design
feel harmonious and can make the colors look
like they belong together. And let's talk about
the second way. So the 80 20 rule is for both warm colors and coal colors together in the same design. So, for example, if we
use 80% warm colors, then you should use
20% coal colors. It's also the other way around. So if you use 80% coal colors, you should only use
20% warm colors. So using these ratios will make your design look
more attractive. I don't recommend using an equal ratio of warm
and coal colors as this will make none of
the colors stand out and can make the design
look less interesting. Okay, so that's the

6. The Meaning of Colours: Hi there, and welcome
to this video, where we're going to look
at the meaning of colors. Let's first talk about
the color black. So if your design, using this color can create a
few different emotions. For example, it can give
the feeling of a secret, luxury, expertise, sadness,
fear, and strength. Let's now look at
the color white. Using this color in your
design can give a feeling of innocence,
cleanliness, safety, peace, virtuous, simplicity,
and justice. Next is red. This can give your
designs the feeling of love, lust, heat, power, speed, excitement, anger, intensity, leadership,
and determination. Then there's orange.
This can give your designs a feeling
of joyfulness, caring, sensitivity,
friendship, and peace. Then yellow. This can give your designs a feeling
of warmth, positivity, imagination, intelligence, activity, a sense of humor,
creativity, and innocence. Then there's pink, this can give your designs a feeling of
encouragement, warmth, cherishing, friendliness,
youth, success, and beginning.
Then there's gold. In this photo here, we have
large golden marble tiles. This color can give
a feeling of wealth, abundance, respect, victory,
intelligence, and power. Then there's green. This can give our designs a
feeling of nature, balance, calm, freshness,
hope, and harmony. Then there's blue, this cool and give our designs a
feeling of softness, calmness, coolness,
freedom, and clarity. Then there's brown,
this color can give our designs a
feeling of stability, simplicity, strength, friendship, draw
ability, and intimacy. Okay, and then we have purple. This cook and give our
designs a feeling of mystery, patience, change, idealism,
and extravagance. Okay, so that's standards video, we've had a look at
the meaning of colors. So I hope now you have an
idea of what colors to use in your design to help
evoke certain emotions. The thanks for watching, and I'll see you

7. Clashing Colours: Okay, so now let's talk
about clashing colors. Flashing colors are
two colors that are opposite in the
circle of colors. The circle of colors is
what we looked at before, and this shows us the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. Normally, we don't use clashing colors in our designs as it can make them feel heavy and can often make the
design look worse. So there are six pairs
of clashing colors, and let's have a
look at these now. So we have yellow and purple. We can see from the color
circle on the left, that these colors are
opposite each other. Then there's red and green. Again, we can see in
the color circle, that these colors are
opposite each other. Then there's blue and orange. Again, we can see these are opposite each other
in a color circle. And then we've got yellow
orange and blue purple. Then there is red
orange and blue, green and yellow
green and red purple. Okay, so now let's have a look at how to use
clash in colors. So for clash in colors, we can use the 80 20 rule. So if you use clash in
colors in your design, one of these colors
shall be at 80%, and one of them
should be at 20%. If we use more than
20% for one of these clash in colors and
have it at say 50 50, so 50% for one color and
50% for the other color, done a design color
messy and can make people feel confused and
may not look interesting. The first photo has
50% red and 50% green, which in my opinion
doesn't look that interesting compared
to the second photo, where we have around
80% green and 20% red, which I believe works a lot better and looks
more interesting. However, you can still use
clash in colors at 50 50. So if you're going to
use 50% of one clash in color and 50% of the
other clash in color, then I recommend
adding another color, such as white, gray or black
to make the image softer. This can also stop the eyes from seeing too much contrast. So let's now have a look at these images here on the right. These images have the
colors red and green, which are opposite each other in the color circle and
are clashing colors. You can also combine the
clashing colors with other colors to help improve the image and make the
colors look softer. So if you do want to
add another color to a design of clashing colors, then I only recommend
using basic colors, for example, white,
gray or black. Okay, so that's clashing colors. Generally, I recommend avoiding
these in your designs. But if you are going to
use clashing colors, then I recommend
using the 80 20 rule, and if you're going to
add in another color, then you can use it at 50 50. Okay, so thanks

8. Monochrome and Colour Palettes: Hi there, and welcome
to this video, where we're going
to be looking at monochrome and color palettes. Let's first explain what
Molocrome actually is. So monochrome is when you match
colors in the same tones. When we do this, the
colors won't clash, it just increases or
decreases the contrast, so the color matches. So let's now have a look at
the photos on the screen. So the first photo uses black, dark gray, and light gray. So these colors make the
photo look interesting, and you can see here that these colors work well together. Let's now have a look
at the second photo. In this photo, the person
is wearing black and red. There's also light gray
from the background. Let's now have a look
at the third photo. Here, the model is
holding a dark blue hat, and there's also a softer blue and a kind of gray blue color. Again, these colors all work
well together and match. Then in the fourth photo, we have a photo of this outfit. Here we have the colors
yellow, brown, and gray brown. Again, these all match. Then
we have the fifth photo, which uses the colors black, dark blue and gray, which again
are monochrome and match. So let's now have a
look at color palettes. So if you have no idea how to select colors or what
colors to use together, then I recommend having a
look at color palettes. So there are many free
websites that can help you find the best
colors for your design. For example, color hunt.com. Here I have some screenshots
from Color hunt, and you can see that
in the first photo, I've selected some
pastel colors, and in the second photo, I've typed in the word coffee, and you can see here some
coffee color palettes. So let's actually jump over
to color hunt.com now, and I'll show you how
this website works. So right now I'm
on color hunt.com. So we can click on
the Search box here. You can see up
here, we can choose different colors. Let's
just choose blue. And you can see here we have many different blue
color palettes. Let's actually scroll
up to the top again, and I'm going to remove this tag and click on the
Search box again. And now let's choose
one of these. Again, let's select coffee. We can see here all these different
coffee color palettes, and there's loads
for us to choose. Okay, so that's color Hunt, and there are other websites
like this that we can use to help you find nice color
palettes for your design. One of the other
websites that has color palette is,
of course, CVA. Canva has many
functions for design, which includes color palettes. You can access Canvas
color palette by going to cama.com slash Colors,
slash color palettes. This site has many
different color palettes, and there are many
different pages of them. By the way, I've also linked
to the different websites. I'm going to mention
in this video to a downloadable PDF
attached to this video. So don't worry if you're not making notes of these websites. You can just click
on these links in the PDF later on to
directly go to these sites. Okay. So now let's have
a look at this website. You can see here we have many
different color palettes, and we can actually search
for a color palette. You can see here,
we actually have a few pages just with these
coffee color palettes. We can also hart the
color palettes we like. So we can quickly see
which ones we like or not. We can also click on
the color palette, and you can see here we
have the exact color codes. We can click on these colors here to copy the color codes. Canva can also generate color palettes from
images and photographs. And we can access these by
going to cama.com slash Color, slash Color, palette, generator. Again, this link
has been added to the PDF attached to this video. So if Canvas color
palette generator, we can upload an image, and it will find the color palette for us from that image. So let me show this now. So let's click on load image. And here I have my image
that I want to upload. So for this example,
I have the design that I made about my
videography course. But now I can use these colors for another design if I wish. You can see here it has
a name of the colors, and I can also click on these colors here to
copy the color codes. So here I have my JPEG image, but you can also upload
PNG images as well. So now I can copy
these color codes into Canva or even photo
shop, if you wish. I'll quickly show you now
how to do this in Canva. So here I have a blank design. But just for this example, I'm going to quickly
now add a few shapes. Just something really
fast. Let's go back to the color
palette generator. I'm just going to
copy these colors and use them in my design. So I'm going to click
on the shape here, then go to the color box, and then go to add a new color, and here I'm going to
paste in the color code. Again, let's do this
with another color. Let's go back to
the color palette generator, Copy another code. Then go back to this design. Again, click on another shape, click on Color, and then
click on add a new color, and then paste in
the O color code. And I'll just do this
again very quickly. So let's change the
background to another color. Let's just do this for
the triangles quickly. Again, click on this gray color and just paste it in here. It's not the best design,
but I just want to quickly show you how you can copy
the color codes into Canva. Just for this
example, I'm actually going to add the
design to a new page. So I did upload this previously, so let's go to uploads. And here I have my design
that I uploaded previously. In camera as well,
we can also pick a color from the design
using the eye dropper tool. So you can add an
image to Canva, and then you can use
this tool to find the exact colors that
you used in your design. So let me just quickly
show you this now. So if I just unselect this image here, and
then go up to color, I can click on add a new color, and then I can click this
eye dropper tool here, which allows you to pick
a color from the design. So for example, let's just
pick this gray color here. You can see update
here and the display. Then we can copy this and go
back to the original design. And now let's change the
color of this equal sign. Let's click on this and in
color. Let's add a new color. So here can paste in, while just copied from
the other design. You can see as well,
if we go back to the original design
and go in colors, Canva does actually display some photo colors here as well. So Canva will automatically detect the colors
from your design. Okay, so there's a few
different options. You can use a color
palette generator. You can use eye dropper tool, and Canva will also generate
the colors from your design. Okay, so that
extended this video. In this video, we've looked at monochrome and color palettes. I hope you found

9. Layout Introduction: Hi there. Welcome to this video. In the next few videos, we're going to be
looking at layout. So Layout is when
you put the photo and text in the right
position on your design. So this can make the
design look more enjoyable to look at
and more interesting. So in the next
video, we're going to be looking at
the rule of thirds. Then after this, we'll look
at leading lines and balance. So thanks for watching
and I'll see you there.
10. The Rule of Thirds: And now we're going
to be talking about the rule of thirds. So the rule of thirds is used to make the
subject of the design stand out and also make the subject or product
look more interesting. It's also the basic rule that most photographers use when
taking photos of a subject. So let's now look at how to
work out the rule of thirds. To this rule divides the image
equally into three parts, both vertically
and horizontally. The vertical and horizontal
lines will overlap, and there will be nine
squares in the image. There are also four
cross points where the vertical and
horizontal lines meet. So these layouts are often
used for backdrops and photos. Now let's have a look at
some two to one examples. So two is the most
important thing, and one is the less
important thing. Let's have a look at
his first example here. Here some people are
holding ice cream cones. So here we have the
horizontal lines dividing the image into three. So we have the subjects
on the bottom two thirds. So the top third
isn't really used, and the eyes are drawn to
the bottom two thirds. Okay, let's now have a
look at the next example. So here we have the image
divided into thirds, but this time vertically. So the subject isn't
in the first third, it's in the second two thirds. So here our eyes are drawn
to the right two thirds. Again, we're using a
ratio of two to one. Okay, let's have a look
at some more examples. The image on the left is
divided into thirds vertically, so we have the coffee cup and saucer on the left two thirds. Again, using the
ratio of two to one. Let's now have a look at
the design on the right. This time we have
three horizontal line, so we have the
title of the design and the main image in
the top two thirds. We do have some information
in the bottom third, but it's not as eye catching
as the top two thirds. So let's have a look
at some examples. Now using the ratio
of one to two. So one is the most
important thing, and two is the less
important thing. On the left here,
we have this image, which has been split into
thirds horizontally. So you can see here that
the text, please be safe, is the largest and the most important part of
the sign and image. It's also what you
want people to see immediately when
they're look at the sign. So you can see here, we're
using a ratio of one to two. So one is the most
important thing, so the top third, and the second two thirds
is less important. It is less common to see designs and images use a
ratio of one to two, but it's still used, and it still follows the
rule of thirds. Okay, let's now have a quick look at the example
on the right. So this image is divided into three parts
horizontally again. This time we have the
fruit at the bottom third, and this is where
the eyes are drawn. Again, it follows a
ratio of one to two. And let's just have a look at two more examples that use
a ratio of one to two. On the left, we have the image divided into third vertically, and we're using a
ratio of one to two. So we have the subject
on the left third. So the things in the
middle and right third isn't as important
on this design. Okay, let's have a look
at the next example. Again, this is divided
into third vertically, and we have the product
on the right third. We do have some texts and some information in the other thirds, but the product is the most
important part of the image, and this is where
eyes are drawn. So again, this gives us
a ratio of one to two. So if you want your subject or product to stand
out even more, you can place them on
the intersection point, which is where the horizontal
and vertical lines meet. So let's now have a look
at the examples here. In the middle image here, we have this hot air balloon, and this is placed on one
of the intersection points. This layout here looks
very professional to me, and I don't think it
would look as good if the balloon was in the
center of the image. Let's now have a look at
this image on the right. So here we have
these makeup brushes on one of the
intersection points, which is where your
eyes are drawn to. Also, the makeup palette in the background is blurred
out and out of focus, so your eyes are really drawn to the brushes,
which are in focus. So you can experiment
with putting your subject or product on
different intersection points. But remember, you don't always have to follow the
rule of thirds. This is just a guideline, but if you think it
looks better placing your subject or
product somewhere else, you can always do that. Just remember the
rule of Thirds is a good starting point
and often looks great. Okay, so that's send this video. I hope you find it useful, and I'll see you

looking at leading lines.
11. Leading Lines: Okay, so in this video, we're going to be looking
at leading lines. So leading lines direct
the viewer's eyes to the subject or product and
makes them stand out more. So let's now have a
look at some examples. So if the image on the left, we can see that the sign stands out because we have
the leading lights on the left on the sidewalk or path and a leading line
on the right as well. So these leading lines lead your eyes to the middle
to view the sign. Let's now have a look at
the image in the middle. So here we have someone walking, and we have the leading
lines of the light direct the viewers eyes so they can
see the person walk alone, which matches with the title of the book, which says alone. Okay, then we have
the third photo, which is of the city scape. Here we have the
roads as lead lines, which leads our eyes to
the building in the city. Let's now have a look at a few more examples for leading lines. So for the first photo
on the top left, we're using the countertop
as leading lines. So our eyes are led to
look at the drinks, which makes them stand out and makes the image
more interesting. So for the next
photo below this, we have these leading lines, and this makes the
text stand out, even though the text isn't bold. Now let's have a look at
the image in the top right. Here we have creases
in the material, and these are used as leading lines which lead
our eyes to the product. Then in the next
image below this, we have curved
lines in the sand, which are used as leading lines. So these again, draw our
eyes to the product. Then in the last photo, we have vertical leading lines, which again lead our
eyes to the product and help the product stand out
and look more interesting. Okay, so that's leading lines. I recommend experimenting
with these in your design if you want to make the subject or product standout. Thanks watching, and I'll

12. Balance: Okay, so now let's have
a look at balance. So balance is when
you have elements weighted against each
other in your design. This can give the design a sense of completion and stability. The elements can be balanced vertically, horizontally,
and diagonally. You can also balance
the foreground and background to give
a visual balance. Let's now have a look
at some examples. In the first photo
here on the left, we have someone
doing meditation. This image is balanced with
the subject sitting in the middle and a similar amount of elements either side of them. Okay, let's now have a
look at the next image. This image is for competition. Here each person is
balancing out the design. So one person has
turned out to the left, and the ones turned
out to the right, which balances out the design. We also have these name
labels for each person, too, which also balances
out the design. We also have the text
versus in the center, as well as a different
color for each person, and also an equal amount of white dots
behind each person, which again, balances
out the design. Okay, let's now have a
look at the third design. Here we have 12 photos, six up, and six down, which
balances out the design. There's also text in the middle, and we also alternate black and white and colors
in the image. And the images also alternate between black and
white and color. We also have these
small heart images either side that
balances out the design. We also cut the photos at the same point on the
left and right side, which again, balances
out the design. Okay, let's now have a
look at another example. Here we have a
menu. So we do have a few different
things in this menu that balances out the design. So we have the name of the cafe at the top and middle
of the design. There's also the same amount of images at the top and
bottom of the design. We also have the same amount of images on the left and
right of the design. We also have images on both corners at the
top of the page, and there's also this image of coffee beans at the
bottom of the page, which balances the design out. The items on the menu and price all have an equal margin
and are balanced. So again, this
example is balanced. So it is a good
idea to balance out your design if you want to give a sense of completion
and stability. Okay, so that's

13. Font, Colours, Stroke and Layout: Okay, now, let's
talk about font. So the font of the text is a very important
part of the design, and you will need to
make sure you choose the appropriate fonts to help keep your design interesting. Also, remember to look at the
font and the overall design and ask yourself if it matches or works with the
rest of the design. So let's now have
a look at how to choose appropriate
fonts fel design. So these are a few
things we need to consider when
choosing our font. So these are which font to use? Should we use bold letters
or tele sized letters? What font size
should be selected, what color and stroke of
the text should we choose, and a layout for the text. Let's now have a look
at these in detail, and let's start off with the first one, which font to use. So I don't recommend using more than three different fonts, or the design may look
messy and unorganized. In our designs, we need to consider what type of font
to use for the headline, subheadline, and text body. We also recommend using a font that's easy to
read and stands out. So let's now have a
look at some examples. Let's first look at the
design on the left. Here we have the headline, which has the largest font. It's the largest font because it's the
name of the article. Next, we have the subheadline, which says breaking news, which is the second
largest font. This subtitle is meant
to grab your attention, so you read the text below, which is why it's
in a larger font. Then we have the text body, which has the smaller font, and you can see there's
a lot more text. Font is still clear
and easy to read. Let's now have a look at
the design on the right. Here we have three
different types of fonts. For the title, we use the
font Georgia Pro condensed, and the other font we
use is called Gotham, and these are both easy to read. Then we have the
name of the company, Fair Hill Villas, and for this, we use the font Bower Bodoni. This font is harder to read, but it does look more fancy, which may reflect the image the company wants to represent. Okay. Let's now look
at some more examples. Now let's talk about
whether we should use bold letters or
te sized letters. Bold letters and
italicized letters are used to emphasize important
parts of the text. We can also use a line or textbox to draw
attention to the text. So let's have a look at
these examples here. So for the design on the left, you can see the word book Sale stands out and catches your eye. This is in bold and it is also capitalized to grab
our attention. We also have the website name at the bottom of the design, and this is in italics. I in the talxs just
to make it standout and also to make the design
a bit more interesting. We also have the text box around the words offline
and online store. This is to draw
attention to the text, and again, to make the
design more interesting. Okay, let's now have a look
at a design on the right. So the words book
collection are in bold, but it's not strong as the
example we just looked at. However, we do have these lines above the text to
draw your attention. So we can use a line or
text box to draw attention to the text and to make the design a bit
more interesting. Okay, now, let's talk about what font size
should be selected. So I do recommend
sorting the font size by priority and also use the right amount of
space for the text. Generally, you want
to have the most important text,
the largest size. So it's normally the title or the text you want people
to instantly see. So if you have the
most important text as the smallest font, then people may read this last
or may not read it at all. We also need to focus on
the spacing of the text. So we don't want the text to
be too crammed or too close, and we also don't want the
text to be too spread out, or it could look a little
weird or unpleasant. Okay, so now let's have
a look at some examples. So if they're
designed on the left, this is a book design
about music theory, so the words music
theory are bold, capitalize, and also
have the largest text. We then have the text for
electronic producers, which is less important than
the words music theory, but it's still
important, so it's in a large font that's bold
and also capitalized. We also have the words, the complete course,
which is important, so it's in a large font, but it's not the most important, so it's not the largest font. We then have who the book was created by, which
isn't as important, so it's in a smaller font, and it's not capitalized,
and the name is not in bold. We then have the website name, which again, isn't that
important, so this isn't bold. It's also not capitalized, and the font isn't too large. We also have a good amount
of spacing for this text, and it's centered to
balance out the design. Okay, let's now have a
look at the next example. This one is very similar. Again, this is a
book cover design. So we have the words
Ableton Live 11 in bold, which is the name
of the software that people want to
learn from this book. This is important, so people know it's the
correct software. So this is bold, capitalized as also the largest
text on the page. Then we have the subtitle, which is music production
in Ableton Live. This is important,
so people know the skills are going to
learn in the software, so it's in the large font, but it's not as large
as the same title, but it's also bold and
capitalized to stand out. Then we have who
created the book, which is in a smaller font,
and the name is not bold. Then we have the name of the
website in the top right. This is in the smaller font, as it's not as important, but it's in the text box with contrasting colors,
so it stands out. We also have the
name of the website flipped on its side
on the left here, which again, is in
the smaller font. It's like this just to add to the design to make it a
bit more interesting. Okay, so now let's talk about what color and stroke of
text should we choose. So we can make the
text stand out by using different
colors and strokes. So the stroke is the
outline of the text or the color around
the edges of the item. Just be aware if
you choose to have color strokes in your design, then the stroke should
all be the same color. If you use multiple
stroke colors, then your design can start to look messy and inconsistent. Okay, so let's have a look
at some examples for this. Let's have a look at the
example in the top left. The first line has a yellow
textbox with black text. Then the second
line inverts this, so it has a black text
box with yellow text. Then the third and also the fourth line does this as well. So this makes the
text standout and also makes it pretty
interesting to look at. Let's now have a look
at the next example, which is the example below. This design uses a
white color stroke. This makes the text standout and makes it look a little
more interesting. Let's now look at
the next example, and here we have the words book launch in different colors. For this text, we're also only using a few
different colors. So we're using maroon and pink, as well as black and white. You can see here this pink
color of the text and the text box also matches the
color on the person's top. We also have these small icons, which again, use the same color. This design is very simple and isn't messy, but it's
still interesting. Let's now have a look
at the next example, and this uses a black
color stroke on the title, which is the word Hamburger, and also the italic words,
which is full of flavor. This makes the text
stand out and also keeps a design consistent
and not too messy, as they both use the
same color stroke. We also have these
text boxes here, which both use the
same red color, which keeps the design
consistent and not messy. Okay, now let's talk about
the layout for the text. So the text layout is an important part of
the design process, and it's where you put the
text in the right position. So if you do this correctly, this can help keep your
design looking clean. This can also make your design look interesting and
makes it stand out. It also helps the reader
understand the meaning of the product and what you want to represent
with your design. It also allows a reader to easily memorize the
important text. Okay, now let's have a
look at some examples. So here we have a
textbook layout. This has photos and text boxes to group the different
parts together. Which lets you
know that the text is related to the
image next to it. The text boxes also
use different colors, so the standout and you can
easily tell them apart. On the right, we
have a larger photo and then two smaller
photos below, which evenly balances
out the design, which makes it look
nice and interesting. In the text boxes below here, we have bold text for the topic. This helps it stand out and
catch the viewer's eye. Then the rest of the text is regular sized texts
and is less important. Let's now have a look
at some more examples. The next one here
is for our website. You can see we have a
nice balanced design here where we have these evenly spread out images and a larger image at the top
to grab your attention. Then we have a card layout. This has some different
angles here in the design, which makes it look
modern and edgy. We also have some larger
texts to grab your attention, and we also have these icons evenly spread out
with text below it. Okay, so that send
of this video, we've looked at font,
colors, stroke, and layout. I hope you found

14. Useful Websites for Graphic Designers: And now let's have a look at some websites that can help
you with your designs. I'll quickly show you these
websites now and I'll also link to them all in the
PDF attached this video. Most of these sites
will give you free royalty free images, but some of them may
require a small fee. We'll explain it all shortly. Okay, let's have a look at the first site,
which is cava.com. Of course, we've looked
at Canva a lot so far, but CVA is a free to use
graphic design tool, which also allows you to
create social media posts, presentations, posters,
logos, videos, and more. We then have Pier, which
is spelled px a by.com. This is a royalty free
image and video website. Then there's free pick.com, which is spellfr epk.com. This is a search engine
that helps you find photos, images, illustrations,
and PSD photoshop files. Many of these images
have a free license, but some require the premium membership to use these photos. Then we've got free
design file.com. This website has a collection
of free vector art, icons, PSD, photoshop files, and
photoshop plugins and fonts. All the images on the site are free to use for personal use, and most of them can
be used commercially. Then there's elements.to.com. This is a subscription
site for stock photos, graphics, videos, and music. You will have to
pay to use these, but it is a good website,
and it has a lot of choice. Then there's piwizar.com
spot pkwizar.com. This has royalty free
images and videos, which are also safe
for commercial use according to their site. And then there's stock snap dot. This has free stock
photos and images. According to their website, it says the photos
on their site, are free to use for personal
use and commercial projects. However, I do recommend doing some research about royalty
free and commercial use, and also check on the
website to see if you can use the images for
personal or commercial use. Okay, so that's
standard is video. I do recommend checking at
these different websites, and hopefully they can help
you with your designs. So thanks for watching,

15. Part 1 - Tips to create a Digital Book: I am welcome to this lesson, where I'm going to
show you how to turn a video course into a
digital book with Canva. So let's get started. Okay, so let's have a
look at my example. For this, we turn a course about camera settings into an e book. So we use this book as a downloadable resource for anyone who's enrolled
in the course, so they can use this as supplemental material to help them learn the tips and
techniques from the video. Okay, so now let's
look at how we created this digital
book in CVA. So step one is we find a book template to help you come up with a
design for your book. First of all, have a look
at other book templates. This can be on Canva or
other templates online. So you can use this as
inspiration for your book. And remember, you
can always adjust the colors and any design
elements if you need. Okay, so let's have a look
at some templates from some free websites to help us come up with some ideas
for our book design. Let's have a look at f pick.com, which is fr ek.com, and also templates on Canva. Let's now talk about things to consider about your book design. So we need to consider the colors and shades
used in a digital book, also the header and footer, the left and right margins, and also the font and text. Okay, so now let's have
a look at step two. For this, we're going to set the color scheme for the book. Remember, for color
design, less is more. We don't want to have too
many colors in the design, or it can start to become
messy and unorganized. Let's keep things
simple and I recommend picking around three to four colors that work well together. For this example, I'm going to pick four colors
for my book design, and these colors are white, black, yellow, and gray. You can also consider using colors that are
in the same tone, for example, dark
gray and light gray. Okay, so now let's have
a look at step three, where we're going to create
multiple blank templates. We can add all the
words and images later, but now let's start
off with the template. I think it's a good idea to
make templates like this, so we can see an
overall image of the book before we
add the information. Let's now have a
look at step four, where we're going
to choose the fonts and sizes for the book. Make sure you choose texts
that's easy to read and also make sure the colors of the text is also easy to read. Also, make sure you don't use too many different fonts,
or it can look messy. And also, don't have too
much space in a text. And the next point is
design font by priority. So make the text bigger and bolder for the most
important things. So maybe a header or
an important part from the video should be in a larger text or
bold. Step five. Get a transcript of the video and put it into a text document. You may be able to download the auto generated text
from online video sites like YouTube or UDME Just be aware the auto generated
text isn't perfect, so you may need to go through this and correct a few things. Alternatively, you can use AI tools to
transcribe the video. There are sites that can
help you do this for a small fee, such as rev.com, which is rv, or you can hire a freelancer to
transcribe your video. Alternatively, you
can transcribe the video yourself manually. It will make it a lot easier if you have the text
from the video, so you can always see what's needed to put into your book. So this course had auto
generated captions and went through manually
and corrected these. So in the course
player in Utomy, I can click on the transcript
button, and then from here, I can copy this transcript
and put it into a text document. Step six. Listen to the video and
in your text document, make the important parts
of the video bold. This might be key
phrases or anything that you think is necessary
to put in the book. Step seven, copy the text
that you made bold from your text document and paste
it into your Canva template. For this example, I put the
text on top of a yellow box. In this case, it
was the different numbers for them to remember. Here you can see that
I put 420 p in bold, so people know that this is an important part of the video. You can also see that I've
added the image below this. This is actually a corrupt
screenshot from the video. So you can add screenshots from your video and put
it into your book, as long as it doesn't
look too messy. Next to the images,
you can see that I've put the text about the
certain numbers in the box. I've put these in the
box, so it stands out, and it also breaks up the text, which makes it more pleasing
on the eye for the reader. So I believe it's important to imagine that you are the
customer reading the book. So make sure it's
easy to understand, and also make sure
you've included all the necessary information
from the video. Step eight. Make sure you don't miss out any important information
or repeat yourself. In my text document, I highlight the text that's been
added to my Canva design. This way, I can quickly see what's been added to the
book and what hasn't? Let's now talk about Step nine, which is about exporting
our project as a PDF file. So after we've
finished our book, we can export it out of Canva. You may also want to
export if you want to share what you've done so
far with clients or friends, or if you want to
see what your page or pages look like as a PDF. We can do this by going
to share and download, and then we need to select,
choose PDF standard. Okay, so that's the
end of this video. In the next video, I'm going to demonstrate how you can create

16. Part 2 - Demo How to Create a Book: Okay, so now let's create
some pages for this book. In the course, you
can see there are multiple sections with
different videos. For this example, though, let's change Lecture
free into a book. Rains per second.
And each photo. So let's go over to the
transcript button here. Again, if you're using a
video that's not on udomy, find out how you can
get the captions or transcript of the video. So here on udomy, let's
copy the transcript, which we can do
with Control C on Windows or Command C on MAC. And now let's paste this
into our text document by pressing Control V on
Windows or Command V on MAC. Your text may be in
a different color or might be marked
or highlighted. So let's just select all
of this text by pressing Control A on Windows
or Command A on Mac. So let's just change
this text now, so it's not highlighted.
This back to Black. Okay, so now, let's
watch the video and read the text at the same
time. And each vote. Let's make the text for the important parts
of the video bold. The smallest unit
that a digital image can display on a digital device. And the more pixels we have, the sharper image will be. Common resolutions
are four eP 720 P, ten ATP, 14 40 P, four K, five K, six K, and eight K. Four eightP is
known as standard definition. However, I'd argue that
standard definition nowadays is more like a ten
ATP or four K. For example, in this video, where I'm
talking about four ATP, let's make sure this is bold. You can also see that there is a useful photo that
explains this. So let's screenshot this
and include it in the book. If you have any of the original
images from the video. It may be high
resolution to include these in the book rather
than taking a screenshot. But screenshot is easier, and we'll still look
fine most of the time. We can screenshot
the full screen on Mac by pressing
Shift command f, and then you can
crut this image. Or on Mac, you can select
part of the screen that you want to screenshot by
pressing Shift command four. And then you can click and drag over what you want
to screenshot. Or on Windows, you can take a screenshot by using
the snipping tool. You can do this by selecting the area that you want to take a screenshot from and pressing
Shift Window S. Okay, so now let's have a look
at another example. This example talks
about YouTube video. So for this, I'm
actually going to go to the YouTube video and
screenshot from here. This is because this video
is uploaded in four K on YouTube and only in
ten ATP on Utomy. So the video on YouTube
will look high resolution. For this video, I want to make sure we show
the resolution, which is 2160 p4k, as this is one of the key
points from the video lecture, and I want to make
sure I include this. So let's put this
on full screen. And then I'm going to
screenshot by pressing Shift command four and
dragging over the area. I want to screenshot. Okay, so now let's go back to
the Camber design, and now let's choose template
for this video lecture. So we can click this button
here to edit this page. We can also zoom in and out on the design by dragging the Zoom slider at
the bottom here. Now let's paste
the important text from the text
document into Canva. So here I have two windows
open at the same time, one with Google Docs, where the transcript is,
and one with Canva. So I can quickly swap
between the two tabs. Now let's paste the title
into the top text bar, and let's make this
text box wider, so it fits all on one line, and let's also capitalize the first letter
of the first word. Now let's highlight the
text in the text document, so I know that I've added this to the Canva book template. Let's now paste
the next paragraph into the text box
below the title. Again, let's highlight
this to the text document, and I've added this
to the camera book. For the next paragraph, I'm going to place the
text on top of this yellow box,
and make it bold. This will make the design more interesting and will
make the text stand out. Okay, and now let's copy and
paste in the next paragraph. I also have a chrome
extension called Gramm, which helps correct the grammar. So when someone
speaks in the video, it can often sound fine, but may be grammatically
incorrect. So Gramal helps me find
any grammatical errors, so can quickly fix these. Now let's adjust where
it says four ATP, and let's also make this bold. As this is an important part, and we want to emphasize this. So let's just readjust the image placeholder
and also the textbox, and let's just delete some of this text here as I don't
think this is crucial. Let's just resize the
image placeholder and textbox again and delete
this placeholder text. And let's just copy and paste the next paragraph and
add it to this textbox. Let's just let all of the
text know in the box, and I'm not going
to make this bold, and let's just adjust these
boxes now to neaten this up. Okay, so now let's add an
image as this helps us break up the text and makes the page look a bit
more interesting. Let's delete this placeholder
and find our own image. We can do this by going to
uploads on the left here. Now let's click on
the upload files and add the screenshot
that we took before. Now let's resize the image and make it big enough
to clearly read, but not too big that it
takes up too much space. Let's now add the
next paragraph. I also don't need
to add the word so. This might be fine for a video, but for a book, it's not needed. So let's delete this. Let's also capitalize the first
letter of the word four. Let's just delete the line space at the bottom here
to neaten this up. Again, let's highlight this paragraph in the text document, so we know we've added
this to the camera book. Let's now copy and paste the next paragraph
into this text box. I think this is a bit too small, so let's change the size
of the font up here. Again, let's delete
the photo template and upload another screenshot
that I took before. I haven't uploaded
this to CV yet, so let's click on Upload files, and I'll just import
this from my desktop. Let's click on this image and then move it to the
correct position, which is the bottom
left of the page. And let's also resize this as
it's too big at the moment. I'm just going to Zoom in with the Zoom slider here so we
can clearly see this image, but it's not taking
up too much space. Let's now resize this textbox and adjust the size of the text. I also want to make
a shape to highlight the four K resolution
number from the screenshot, which is an important part of the video that I
want to emphasize. So let's go up to
elements and choose this rectangle shape
that has smooth edges. Now let's resize this and
add a border to the shape. By pressing the
border icon up here, and let's choose the
single line border. Now let's change
the border color to red and make the
shape transparent, so we can just see the border and decrease the corner
rounding amount. Let's also make the border a bit thinner as it's a bit
too thick right now. So we can do this by
decreasing the border weight. Let's now resize this shape and move it so it highlights 2160p, four k. So now the reader can clearly
see this from the shape, which is drawing attention
to the number in the shape. Let's just decrease the corner
rounding amount even more. Okay, I think this
looks good now. Next to this, I also want to add a finger clicking graphic, which will draw even more
attention to this number. So let's go up to
elements again, and let's type in
click in the search, and let's select S all, and now let's scroll down and
find one that's suitable. As this will be a PDF file, I want to have a still
image, not a moving image. Okay, I think this
one here is suitable. By the way, this image
is for Camera Pro, but if you're following along and using the free
version of Canva, just make sure you choose
another image that doesn't have this crown icon and is a
free image for you to use. Now let's resize this and
place this over the shape. So it draws our eyes onto
the 2160 p4k number. Okay, I think this is good now and I finished this
page for the book. Let's now zoom out with the Zoom slider and see what
the whole page looks like. Let's just move all of the
texts and images slightly, so it's a bit more
even on a page. So we can do this by
clicking and dragging all of the text boxes and images and just dragging
it down slightly. Okay, I think this is good now. Let's now talk about Step nine, which is about exporting
our project as a PDF file. So after we've
finished our book, we can export it out of Canva. You may also want to
export if you want to share what you've done so
far with clients or friends, or if you want to
see what your page or pages look like as a PDF. We can do this by going
to share and download, and then we need to select,
choose PDF standard. Then you can select
all the pages or just the pages you
want to download. You can also just
download the current page on by selecting current page, or you can select certain pages with these chat boxes here. However, for this, we're going
to select all the pages. So let's check all
pages and select done. Okay, so when you're ready
to export, click Download. This project is 107
pages in total, so it might take a
while to download. Once it's downloaded, go to your download location
and open up this. Now you can view this as a PDF. So you can share your
PDF online or send it to your customers or even
start selling your book. Okay, that send this video

17. Why are Thumbnails so Important?: Hi there, and welcome
to this lesson, where we're going to
teach you how to make great looking YouTube
thumbnails in Canva. So let's get started. Let's first talk about what
a thumbnail actually is. So the thumbnail is
the cover of a video, most commonly YouTube video. This thumb nail represents
the video content, and it's what makes people
want to click the video. So why are thumbnails
so important? Let's compare the thumbnail
with a book cover. If someone is browsing around a bookstore and sees a
book with a great cover, they'll be more likely
to pick it up and have a look at it than if it
has a bad looking cover. This doesn't
necessarily mean it's a good book or not or if
the book suitable for them, but a good design can help
grab people's attention, and this is the same for
video thumbnails as well. The thumb nail really makes
the first impression, and first impressions
are very important. If it's a good looking
thumbnail design, the video can get more
clicks and views, which means it can
get more likes. And the channel can also get more subscribers if this
video is suitable for them. Now let's talk about
the benefits of using Canva to design
your thumbnails. Canva is really easy to use, and it can save you
time compared to something like photoshop
to design thumbnails. Canva may not be quite as
powerful for some tasks, but it's more than good
enough to help you design great looking
video thumb nails. You can also save money by designing the thumbnails
yourself with Canva, rather than hiring someone
to create them for you. Canva also has many
great templates and copyright free
photos, graphics, and fonts, so you
can use them in your design without worrying
about copyrighted material. If you sign up for Camera pro, you have even more options for copyright free
images and designs, but you can still do a lot
in the free version of Cava. Okay, so that's
senators video where we've looked at why fm
nails are so important. In the next video,
we're going to look at techniques for

18. Techniques for Designing Thumbnails: Okay, so now, let's talk about techniques for
designing thumbnails. First of all, the thumbnail
design should have a nice image, texts, and colors. Okay, so now let's have a
look at these examples here. T the first image
on the left says authentic Tailand and the gray and dark
background colors, make the design look
quite raw and authentic, which matches the
words in the text. The text color and
font are easy to read, but I personally would have added a bit more line spacing, so the word authentic is
a bit easier to read. Still, I think this
is a good design. Let's now have a look at
a design on the right, where it says
delicious fried rice. It's very easy to read. We also have the text above
that says how to make. This is in a different font, and it's in more of
a handwritten style, which makes the design
look interesting. Then we have a photo of the food that people know
from this thumbnail, what they can make from
watching this video. The next technique is making sure the design isn't too messy. I recommend not having too
much texts in the thumbnail. You only really want a few
words that are easy to read and grab the potential
viewers attention. I recommend putting
just the essential text so people know what they're
going to learn in the video. So I won't put your name
or a company name or a website or anything like
that in the thumbnail design. So let's now have a
look at a bad design, and I'll tell you
why I don't think it's a good design
for a thumb now. Firstly, there's too much text, and the text will be too small to read if the image is small, which often is if people are
viewing it on the phone. As I said, we don't need any website names or
anything like that. So all this text at the bottom just makes the design messy. Next, the design has
too many people. It's confusing because you
don't know who to look at. So it'd only put one
or two people in a thumbnail design or
it could look messy. Let's also talk
about the colors. I think these green colors that we use in this
design are too cold, and we should have used
some warmer colors as the food is hot and spicy, and warmer colors would match the food being made
in this video more. Okay, so now let's have a
look at a good example. So here we have less text, and it looks a lot cleaner. We only have one
person in the design, and they are dressed as a chef, so people know it's
about cooking. This also prevents the
design from looking too messy as there's just one
person in the design. The colors also match the food more as we're now
using warmer colors. These warmer colors can also
make people feel hungry, which works well
with cooking videos. We also have yellow as
a background color, red for the text box,
and orange for the soup. Okay. Now let's talk about choosing a suitable
font for your design. So recommend choosing
a large font that's clear and easy to read. Let's now have a look at
these examples below. So for the design on the left, the text hates TML, is very large and clear to read, which is the topic of the video. We then have the text four
beginners in a smaller font, which is less important,
but it's also easy to read. The font here is
also in italics, which makes the design
look more interesting. Also, the color of
the text is white, as we have a lot of color
from the code image behind. So I think it's nice
to keep this white as we have a lot of
color in the background. Let's now have a look at
the example on the right. So here we have large texts
for the words I got rich. This text needs to
be eye catching, as many people want to learn
how to get rich themselves. So this text needs to
grab their attention. We also have the word rich
in a yellow gold color, which can evoke the
emotions of wealth and money as we think of gold
when we see this color. We also have the word
how in smaller text, as this is less important, and we also have the words a lifetime story
in smaller text, but it has an orange
text box around it to make it stand out and
look a bit more interesting. We also have this person in this design who's
wearing a suit, which many people associate
with business and wealth. So seeing this design should
grab people's attention, so hopefully they click
and watch the video. Okay, let's now talk
about using text box or text strokes to make the text
and the design stand out. So for the design on the left, we have these different
text boxes to make the text standout and also to make the design
a bit more interesting. For the text boxes, we also have the contrast in colors
of red, white and black. We also have a text box
around the words 43 at an angle to make it stand out and look
more interesting. For this example on the right, we have white text stroke
around this brown text. Without this text stroke, the text might blend into the
background a bit too much, but with the white text stroke, it allows the text to stand out, and again, makes it
more interesting. Okay, let's now talk about the different types of
thumbnails that we can create. Let's first of all, talk about a thumb nail that includes
a photo of a person. If there's a face of someone in the thumb nail that people
recognize or have seen before, then people will be more likely
to click on the video as they will trust this
person more than just a random image
in the thumbnail. So let's have a look
at this example here. So you can see that we've used the photo on the left for
the design on the right. So we've added some
texts and we've chosen colors that make
the text stand out. There's also a paint
graphic behind the words five tips to make the text stand out and
look more interesting. So when you take any photos that you plan to use as fum nails, I recommend not putting
the subject in the center. Instead, put the
subject to one side. That way, when you make
the fum nail design later, you have space to add the text. So let's now have a
look at this example. On the left, we have an
image of the subject lifting a weight for the
design on the right, we've zoomed in on the subject, and we've added a filter to the image to make
it less bright, so the text stands out more. If you want your text
to stand out more, you can add a filter or just
the contrast of the photo. We also use contrast in
colors for the text, and we use a black text stroke. This text is also in italics to make it look a bit
more interesting. We can also remove
the background and just have the
person in the design. So Canva has a removed
background feature. Just be aware though that this is currently only for Canva Pro, so not for the free version. It might also remove the
background a bit cleaner. If the subject is stud in front of an evenly
lit green screen, we can still remove
it without one. Also, if you're not using
Camera Pro, then don't worry. You can still remove the
background from a person by using other websites
such as remove dot BG. If you remove the
background, then this can give you more
space in the design, and this allows you to
change the colors of the background and make
it look more interesting. So let's have a look
at this example here. So we've changed the background
color to this rose pink, which matches the
top of the subject. We've also added this pattern
to the background too. So I recommend finding a
suitable new background if you want to remove the original background
from the subject. You can also use free photos as a background for
your video fum now. Of course, you can take
the photos yourself, but this might not
always be possible. Often free photos or stock photos can be
very high quality, and can look better
than taking the photo yourself unless
you're a photographer with a high quality camera. So there are many places where
you can get free photos. We do cover this in this course, but the main places I'd say
are Canva and free pick.com. So you can spell
free pick FE pK do. Okay, let's now have a
look at these examples. So for the example on the left, I wanted to create a
travel video thumb now for the Golden
Bridge in Vietnam. I found this image on Canva, and it was a camera pro image. But there are still
some great images in the free version of Canva, if you want to stay
on the free plan. For this image, I
adjusted the contrast, and then I added the text. You can also see here I
added this paint graphic, and we have a more
handwritten style font for the Word of Log to make
it seem more casual. Let's now have a look at
the example on the right. So for this, I wanted to create
a thumbnail about drinks, so I needed to find
some pictures of different drinks such as
coffee, tea, and fruit juice. Then we added the black box and put the transparency to 45%, so we can still see
the images behind, but they are darker, so the text in front
stands out more. Okay, let's not have
a look at creating a thumbnail from a cava
thumbnail template. So we can use a camera
thumbnail template and then change a few
things in the design, such as the photo text or
elements to make it our own. So let's have a look
at this example here. The design on the left
is a cava template, and a design on the right
is what we changed it to. So we changed the words, move the text box to the right, and change the background photo. So using a template and Canva is a really quick and easy
way to create a thumbnail. You can also use a screenshot from the video as a
background photo. So many people take photos on the camera after
they film a video. You can use this as
a video thumbnail. But if you like
me, often do film a video and then forget to
take photos for the thumbnail. So you can use a screenshot from the video as the
background photo. Also, when you take a
screenshot from the video, it will match the
content in the video, which can look nicer
than using an old photo, whether clothes or the
subject look different. If you do this, I
recommend finding a screenshot of the subject
in a suitable position. For example, here, I've chosen a screenshot of myself smiling. It's often a good place to take the screenshot at the start or end of the video as
people often smile here. However, a photo taken of a camera can be high
quality and better. So if you have the
chance, I recommend taking some photos after
you've filmed the video. But as I said, we
often can forget. Okay. The next technique is using comparison photos
for the thumb now. So this can be a before
and after photo, so people can see the
results from the video, and this can make them
want to click it. So let's have a look
at these examples. Let's start off with
a design on the left. So in this thumbnail,
the photo on the left shows the
ingredients for the meal, and the photo on the right
shows the cook meal. This might make people feel excited because they know
they can cook this if they click this
fumb now and watch this video and follow the
instructions in the video. Let's now have a look at
the example on the right. This is a video thumb new
about building muscles. People can see the before and after and what's achievable if they click on the thumbnail and follow the steps in the video. Okay, let's now talk
about some tips and techniques for making
high quality fum nils. Firstly, make sure
that images are all high quality
and are not blurry, unless it's for a
creative effect. Make sure your fum nil has
a ratio of 16 by nine, so 16 wide and nine high. YouTube also recommends
a fum neil size of 1,280 by 720 pixels, and a minimum width
of 640 pixels. YouTube's maximum file size for a fum neil, currently
2 megabytes. Ideally, you want to export your thumbnail design as
uncompressed PNG file, but at times you may
need to export it as a compressed JPEg file to keep the file size under 2 megabytes. That's because JPEG images have smaller file sizes
than PNG images, but they're not high quality. Okay, so that's
end of this video, where we've looked at different techniques
for designing umnails. I hope you found

start to implement some of the techniques that

19. A Thumbnail that Includes a Photo of a Person: Okay, so now let's look at how to make a
thumbnail in Canva, where we already have a
photo of the subject. So in Canva, let's use
a YouTube thumbnail. And let's use a blank
YouTube thumbnail. Okay, now I'm going to go
over to free pick.com, which is firpk.com, and then
find an image from here. You can apply what
we teach you in this video to your
own images, though. It doesn't have to
be a stock image. For this example,
let's type in makeup. Let's have a look through these until we find one
that's suitable. Okay, I think this person
here could be suitable, but really I want to find one where they're looking
at the camera. You can see here
when we scroll down, it says you may also like. So let's have a look at a
few of these pictures here. I also want to use
a free picture, so I'm not going
to choose one with a crown as these
are paid pictures. This one here looks good,
but it is a paid one. Let's choose this
one as the subjects looking at the camera,
so let's download this. Now let's go back to
Canva and click on loads, and then upload the picture
we just downloaded. This may take a moment to load as these files are quite large. Okay, let's just resize this and put the
subject in the middle. Now let's open Canva in another tab and look at a
few of these templates here. For this, let's type in
YouTube thumbnail makeup. I typed this in previously. So I'm going to
select this here. Let's click on this one and click on Customize
this template. So for this, I want to copy this paint graphic and
then paste in my design. Before I do this, though,
I'm just going to rename this design to
make up thumbnail, just to keep
everything organized. Now let's paint this paste
graphic over to our design by pressing Control V on
Windows or command V on Mac. And let's just move and
resize this graphic. Let's now change the color
of this paint graphic. Here you can see we have
the colors from the photo, so let's try some of these. However, for this, I'm going
to choose my own color. Let's choose this
tone here though as I think this matches
the design well. Let's now click on text
and add a text box. For this, let's
type in five tips. Let's select this
text by pressing Control A on windows
or command A on Mac. Let's change this to
a different font. There's a text that
already have in mind called Adder R swash. Let's type this in a search. Here it is, and let's use this. Let's just click and drag
on this text to resize it. I want to have the letter
five a different size. Let's actually delete this and then duplicate this textbox. Now let's type in five
and then resize this. Okay, I think that
looks more suitable. Let's actually rotate
both of these, and then I'm going to click
and drag over both of these text boxes and
then choose a new color. So it changes the color for both of the text boxes
at the same time. Let's choose yellow, and let's now change the text effect
to a shadow effect. Let's now change the
shadow color to black. Let's now adjust the offset and change the
transparency to 100%, so we can see the
shadow a bit clearer. Let's just resize and
move this text now. And let's also resize and adjust this graphic
here as well. Okay, let's now add
another text box. Under text, let's click
on Add a Heading. Let's change this
to say natural, and let's change the color. Let's now move this
to the top right. Let's choose a different font. The one I want to
use is called Sense. Let's type this in the
search and choose this one. Let's just resize this and change the position
of the textbox. Okay, let's now add an
effect for the text. Let's click on eff and
let's choose shadow again. Let's change the
shadow color to black, and let's increase the
transparency to 100%. Let's also curve this text to make the design look a
bit more interesting. However, I don't want
it this extreme, so let's move the
curve amount down. Let's just reposition this text, and now let's add
another textbox. In the text, let's
click on Add a textbox. Now let's type in makeup. Let's now change the font, and I'm going to choose this one here called Sensor brush. Let's now change the font, and let's try out
a few of these. This one's a bit too much, so let's try another font. Let's type in handwriting
and try out some of these. Let's now change the
font color to white, and resize this and move
it over to the right, so it's not in the
way of the subject. Let's try some more
of these fonts now. Some of these fonts
are premium fonts, and some of them are free. Let's also capitalize
the word up. Okay, let's find a few
more of these fonts. I think this one here
called Play script is suitable, so let's use this. Again, let's add a
shadow effect for this text to help it stand
out, a lot more interesting. Let's click on effects
and then click on shadow. Again, let's change
the color to black and increase the
transparency to 100%. Let's just zoom in and
zoom out to see what a design looks like from
further away and closer up. Okay, I think this
looks good now, and that's how you can
make a video thumbnail, starting with a
photograph of a person. So I hope you find this video useful and I'll see

20. A Thumbnail that Removes the Original Background from the Subject: There and welcome to this video where we're going
to look at creating a video thumbnail that has an image with the
background removed. So I'm going to find a
photograph on three pick.com fk.com. Let's type in makeup. The image I want is on page ten. This one here. Well, it's
not actually that image, it's down below here where
it says you might also like. So you can see here we have other images of
the same subject. I want an image where the subject is looking
at the camera. Let's choose this one here
by holding a lotion bottle. So I'll make this thumb
now about Lotion. Let's download this now, and click on free download. Okay, let's go over to Canva, and this time, let's type
in Lotion thumb now. Let's have a look
at a few of these. And let's choose this one here. Let's now click,
customize this template. So we're not actually going
to use this template, we're just going
to use some of the elements from this template. Let's also click
on this template here and click on
customize this template. I. Let's now type
in beauty pink. I actually want to
find a background now. So for these thumbnail
templates here, I'll just be using
the background. Let's try this one here. I think this one
looks quite good. But I don't need this picture or these elements, just
the background. However, I'll leave this shape here and also this
graphic with the hearts, as I think this might add
to our design as well. Let's now click on loads and upload files and add the picture that we
found on free pick. Let's now click on edit Photo, and now let's click on
background removal. Just be aware though this is
a camera pro feature only. So if you are using the
free version of camera, then you won't be
able to use this. However, in a moment, though, I'll show you an alternative way of doing this, which is free. Let's just cru this
image now and resize it. Let's just rotate this
and reposition image. Okay, now I'm going to show
you a free way of removing the background just in case
you're not using camera Pro. So the website is
removed dot bg. This allows you to remove the
background from an image. So let's now click
on load image, and now let's select the image that we downloaded previously. This can take a while
to remove the image. But I have found if
you refresh the page, it seems to work a bit faster. We also have some settings here, which can help remove the
background a bit cleaner, and we can also restore
the background if we wish. So let's click on Restore now, and here we can click and drag, and we can also manually
arrase here as well. Remove DPG, also
link hop of Camera, so we can press
create design here. And we'll open the
design and Canva. Now we're being
transferred over to Canva. And here we go, we can see the image with
the background removed. Just be aware it does
compress the image slightly as if we remove
the background in Canva. However, it should still be high quality enough
for a video thumb now. Let's just copy
this image now and put it into the design
that we made previously. So we can copy of
control seal windows or command C on Mac. Let's duplicate the
design we had previously, and let's just remove the image. This is the one where we remove
the background in Canva, and let's paste the image
from remove dot BG. So let's just resize this
and reposition this, and you can see, it
looks pretty good. As I said, not quite
as sharp as removing the background in Cava,
but still pretty good. Also on removed dot BG, we can download directly
on here and then upload the image in Ca.
So let's do this now. So on the cama design,
click upload files, and choose the image
we just downloaded. Again, let's resize
and reposition this. Let's delete this page now though, and go back to page one. Let's just reposition
the shape and graphic, and let's duplicate this
shape and make a shadow. Let's change the color to black. Let's now right click on
this and go to layer, and then go to send backwards. And then going to Send backward. There we go, we've added
a shadow for this image, which makes it a bit
more interesting. Let's actually change
the color of the shadow. And let's choose the
color from the photo. Okay, let's go back to one of these templates that we
selected previously. Let's actually copy
the text here. Now let's paste this
into our design. Let's just change the text, so it says top lotion. Let's change the textbox, so it all fits on one line. Now let's click on AfC let's actually change
the shape of the text. Let's click on curve.
That's a bit to extreme, so let's bring the
curve down a bit. Okay, I think that's a
bit more interesting and let's reposition
and rotate this. Let's just move the
subject slightly. And now let's duplicate
this text box, and then select this text. Let's change the
color of this text to this pink text that we
use in the document. Let's click on effects, and let's have a look at
this with no effects, and let's choose
the shadow effect. But let's go back to what we had as I think it looked better. Let's change the
text shape to none, as I don't think we need
this curve effect for this. Let's now change the fonts, and I'm going to try one
called permanent marker. Let's find this here. Okay,
I think this looks nice. Let's now reposition
and resize this. However, I want to change the text effect as I think we
can make this look better. Let's click on effects and
then click on a shadow. Let's change the
shadow color to white. Let's increase the transparency, so we can see this a bit clearer and adjust the shadow offset. Okay, I think this is a
bit more suitable now. Let's go back to the other template
that we opened before, and let's copy over this
graphic that we have here. Let's put this by the subjects are so we can see this graphic. Again, let's go back
to this other template and copy this text here. So I'm really just using
these templates to copy certain elements from it and paste them
into my design. Let's change this to 2024. Let's just resize and
reposition the text here. Let's just rotate the slightly and reposition the text again. And let's just do some
final tweaking here. Let's now change the
text color for 2024. Let's choose one of
these photo colors, but let's actually choose
our own color here. So we can click and drag to
find the most suitable tone. Okay, let's now
close a side menu and have a look at this design. Okay, I think this
looks quite good, and that's how you
can remove the background for a
video thumb now. I hope you find

21. Travel Thumbnails that use Free Photos: Hi there, and welcome
to this video, where we're going to
look at a walk through for a log travel
video thumbnail. So let's get started. Okay, so now let's search
for our template. So for this, I'm going to type in travel YouTube thumbnail. So let's have a look
at few of these. Okay, I think this
one can be suitable. So let's click on this and then click on customize
this template. So for this thumb now, I want the g travel thumbnail to be about the Golden
Bridge in Vietnam. So let's change this from
Portugal to Vietnam. Okay, let's just delete this image behind here
as we don't need this. And under elements, I'm going
to type in Golden Bridge. And now let's click on photos. There is a golden bridge
in San Francisco, so let's be a bit
more specific in the search and type in
Vietnam Golden Bridge. The Golden Bridge is this here, is this hand bridge, which
is in Denang, Vietnam. Many of these are suitable,
but I like this image here. You may notice as well
that these images are only available for Canva Pro as we have this small
Pro, icon here. So if you're using
the free version of Camera Pro and you're
following along, then you will have to
use another image. Okay, let's just
resize and crop this. I also want to have a
frame around the image, which is why I'm not having the image cover the whole design. Let's now click on the text
and then click on effect. And I'm going to choose this
effect here called splice. Now let's change the
color of the text. I think a blue green
color would be nice. So I'm actually going to
select the color myself. So we can customize the color by clicking on this button here, and then we can select
the exact color we want. So let's choose this one here. Let's just reposition the text, and now I'm going to click on edit photo to adjust the photo, to make
it a bit brighter. So let's click on Adjust, and I'm just going to decrease the temperature to
make it a bit cooler, and let's increase the
brightness, to make it brighter. Let's also adjust the contrast, and also the highlights
and shadows. Let's also adjust the white
and black colors as well. And I'm going to
increase the vibrant and also the saturation to help the image stand
out a bit more. Let's now click on
elements and add a shape. So I'm going to add some
texts on top of this shape, so it stands out a bit more
and makes it easy to breathe. So let's resize this. And let's also change the color. Again, I want to have
a blue green color. But let's actually choose the exact color used
for the text, Vietnam. So let's click on
the eye dropper tool here and select the
color of the text. And you can see now it is change the textbox to match
the color of the text. So let's now add a new textbox, so let's click on text. And click on Add a new textbox. Let's now type in Golden Bridge. This text is obviously too
big to fit in this textbox, so let's just change
the text size now. I'm also going to
change the font, Let's try a few of these. Let's try this one,
glacial and difference. Let's also make the text italic and bold,
so it stands out. And let's just adjust the size
and put it in the center. And let's also increase
the letter spacing. Let's just try these
other fonts as well. To be honest, I prefer the
font that we had before. So let's click and do it a few times until we have the font
that we had previously. Let's now add a new textbox, and this time, I'm going to
type in the word of log. Let's change the font for this. For this, I want to have a
more casual looking font, something that looks a
bit more handwritten. So for this, I'm going to use
the font called Blueberry. And let's change the color
of this and make it black. Let's just reposition this, and I don't want this text
all in capital letters, so let's press this button here. Let's just click
and drag over all of the text and move
it down slightly. And now want to put a graphic
behind this text box. So let's click on elements, and then type in paint. Let's now click graphics and have a look
at some of these. Let's just try this one here
and put it behind the text. So I think having a
paint graphic can help make the design look
a bit more casual and fun, which matches the log theme. However, for this example, let's find another graphic. I'm going to type in paintbrush and have a look for another one. Okay, I think this
one looks suitable, so let's select this, and let's change the color
to a yellow color. Let's now delete the
old one and resize the new one and put
it behind this text. Let's now rotate this
and reposition it. Okay, I think this
looks good now. One final thing to do is to change the color
of the frame. I'm going to change it to white. So now it looks more
like a polarized photo, which I think matches
the travel log theme. Okay, so there we go,
here's the video thumb now. So that's the end of

22. Vocabulary Thumbnails that use Free Photos: Hi there and welcome
to this lesson, where I'm going to
give you a walk through how to make a thumbnail. So on this video, I'm
going to make a thumbnail, all about drinks in English. So for this thumb now, I
want to have the keywords, vocabulary, English, and drinks. Okay, so let's get started. I'm actually going
to have a look at some templates, first of all. So in the search bar here, I'm going to type in the
word food thumbnail. So hopefully, one of
these may be suitable. Obviously, I can change all the different
elements in this. But one of these might be
nice as a starting point. As you can see, we have some great design
templates in Canva. Okay, I think this one
here might be suitable. This one's called Black College Street Food YouTube thumbnail. So I'm going to click on
Customize this template. First of all, let's
change this text. So I'm going to select
all this text by pressing command A on Mac or
Control A and Windows, and let's change this to drinks. Let's just resize this so
we can see all of the text, and I'm going to change the
font to something else. I already know the name of the font I want and
it's called Blueberry. I'm just going to
resize this text now. Let's change the
text above this, so it says vocabulary. I'm going to change
the font again, and the one I want is
called public sands. And let's just change the size. We can change the size up here, or we can change the size by clicking and dragging
on the textbox. Now let's change the words
for the bottom textbox. I'm going to change
this to say in English. Let's just change the font, and the font to want
to use is called Flattery slab. So
let's click on this. Again, let's resize this, and for this, I want
to make it unbold. Okay, I'm actually going
to adjust the line spacing here to make
it a bit tighter. Again, let's adjust the
position of the text. For the word vocabulary, I'm going to change
the text color. I think a yellow color
will stand out more. Let's now add some
effects for the text. I'm going to add a shadow, and let's have the
shadow color as black. I want the shadow to stand out. I'm going to put the
transparency to 100, and I'm just going to
adjust the offset. Let's add a shadow effect
for the text drinks as well. Again, let's make the
shadow color black. And let's also increase
the transparency to 100, and again, let's
adjust the offset. And let's do the same for
the text in English as well. Okay, so now let's actually
change the images. As the thumb out
is about drinks, I'm going to add
some drink images. Let's have an image about TT, so I'm going to type
in the word TT. And I want to have
a photo of this, so let's click on photos. Many of these are suitable,
but I like this one here, as it has three different types of drinks with different colors. Let's just resize
this, and let's also corrupt away some of the space that we don't need
in this image. And again, let's resize this. Okay, let's now add another
image for this one, I want to have an
image about juice. Again, as a photo. I think
this one here looks nice, very colorful, and it shows
different types of juice. Again, let's crap away some of the space we don't
need and resize this. Let's delete this image here, and also this flagged icon. Now I want to have
an image of coffee, so I'm going to type in
coffee in the search bar. I think this one here is nice. Again, let's crop away any space we don't
need and resize this. Now I want to have an image
of a bottle of herb juice. Let's type this in the search and find one that's suitable. Okay, I think this
one is suitable. Again, let's just crop
anything we don't need, and let's just resize this. Now let's replace
this image over here with an image
of someone pouring T. Let's now delete
this template image, and again, let's crop and
resize our new image. Let's actually make
this text quite a big, so it's easier to
read from a distance. Again, let's click and drag on these text boxes
to resize these. I'm just going to adjust a line spacing for the word in English. Now, under elements,
I'm going to add this dark gray black box. Let's just resize this, so
it covers these two images. Now we have this box here, we can easily read the text. However, I still want to
see these images here. So let's adjust the
transparency of this box, which we can do with this
transparency button here. Let's change this to 45%. Now the text is easier to read, but we can still
see these images. So I'm just going to
resize this again. I'm just going to see what
it looks like by adjusting the offset and also the
direction for the shadow. So when creating designs, it may not be perfect straightaway. So you may need to make
slight adjustments to improve what it looks like. And let's now change the
text vocabulary to bold. I remember previously
I saw an element that I light on another
thumbnail template. So let's actually find this and copy and pace this
element into our design. The template I want
to copy and pace a element from is from
a drink thumbnail. So I'm going to type in
drink thumb up here. And it's from this one here. Let's click on this and click
on Customize this template. So you can always find other
templates and copy and paste certain elements that
you like into your design. So is this element
here that I like? Let's copy this with Command C on Mac or Control C on Windows. And then paste this
into our design, with Comand V on Mac or

move this box out of the way so we can select
these images behind it. So again, let's
select this image, click on adjust, and then
increase the brightness. And the same for the te
pouring image as well. Okay, let's put this black
box, black where it was. There go, there's our
thumbnail design. So I hope you find

23. A Thumbnail that uses a Canva Template: Okay, so now let's
have a look at how to create a travel
thumbnail in Canva. So here we have a blank
template that has a size 1,280 by 720 pixels. So this has aspect
ratio of 16 by nine, and it's a size that
YouTube recommends. Let's now click on
Design and use one of the templates from here.
Let's type travel. You can see here
we've got lots of great looking travel templates that we can use for our designs. Let's choose this one here.
I think this one looks nice. Let's actually delete
this image here, and let's click on elements, and now I'm going
to type in Pacho, which is an area in
Shangmai, Thailand. And let's click on photos, and let's have a look
at some of these. Let's right click on the photo and then go to
layer, center back. So we can see the images around the text. Let's now resize this. For this, though, I do think
it would be better to have these text boxes on the
right rather than the left. As I do think the main parts
of the image is on the left. So let's select all of
these text boxes here. We can select them more by
holding shift and clicking. Let's now drag this
over to the right. Let's just zoom in so we can see this part of the rock
here on the left. Let's actually try
another photo. As I don't think this
one is suitable. Let's scroll down and
have a look at view more. Let's delete the current photo and choose this one instead. Et's right click
on this image and go to ayer, center back. So we can see the text boxes, and let's now resize this image. Okay, I think this
image is better as we can see this
main rock on the left. Let's now change the text. Let's write Poacho, which is the area in Shanghai, Thailand. So let's write Shang Mai here
and also Thailand below. For this design,
though I want to have the image a
bit less bright. Click on the photo. Let's click on edit Photo and
then click on adjust. I'm just going to adjust
the temperature now, and for this, let's make
it a little warmer. Let's also adjust the brightness and make it a bit brighter, and let's also
adjust the contrast. Let's also adjust the
highlights and the shadows. I think I'll leave
the whites on zero, but let's decrease the blacks. Let's also decrease the
vibrance and the saturation. So now the image doesn't
stand out quite as much, so our eyes are more
drawn to the text. Let's also adjust the sharpness to make the image
a bit blurrier. Let's also adjust the clarity. So when we decrease
the vignette, we make the edges of
the image a bit wider. Okay, I think this works
now, and as I said before, the image now doesn't
stand out quite as much, so our eyes are more
drawn to the text. Okay, so that's the

take a photograph, so you can actually
take a screenshot from your video and use this
as your video thumbnail. So let's now have a
look at this video here where I want to
take a screenshot from. Often in videos, the subject will smile at the
end of the video. So let's now have a
look at the end of the video and find a
suitable screenshot. Okay, I think this frame here
is good, so let's use this. Let's also put the video on the highest resolution and
make this full screen. So we get the highest
resolution for our screenshot. Let's now find the
part at the end of the video with a smile and
take a screenshot of this. We can take a screenshot of the full page on Mac by
pressing Shift command three, or we can select
the part we want to screenshot by pressing
Shift command four, then dragging over the area
we wish to screenshot. On windows, you can screenshot the whole page by pressing
the print screen button. Or you can use the
snipping tool. We can choose the area
you want to screenshot, by pressing Windows
Shift and S. Okay, I think this one here is fine, so let's now take a screenshot. Okay, some narrowing Canva, and let's now find a template. I'm going to choose
a fitness fund now. As for a lot of these templates, the text stands out, and I want to have something

this template. Let's go back to our screenshot. This video is from
one of my courses, and we're going to
use this text here, how to record your camera for recording videos in
the video thumbnail. Okay, let's go back to Canva. And here's the
screenshot that we took. And we're going to
copy these text boxes over to my design, and we can copy by pressing Control C on windows
or command C on Mac. Let's now paste this
in my design with Control V on Windows
or command V on MAC. Let's now change the text color, and let's change it to white. Let's now change the
rotation and move and resize this textbox. I. L et's now change the
effects for this text, so let's click on effect, and let's choose shadow. Now let's change the
shadow color to black, and let's increase the
transparency to 100, so we can see the shadow
for the text a bit clearer. Let's also adjust the offset, and let's also adjust
the line spacing. Let's now select all of
this text by press and Control A on Windows
or command A on MAC, and let's now write
in our own text. So the same text that
I talked about before, change this to say how to use, and now let's duplicate
this textbox, and change it to
say your camera. Let's now change the color of the text for the
second textbox to red. Let's now change the effect. Let's now choose a different
color for the shadow. I don't think this blue
color is quite right, so let's actually
choose our own color. So I'm choosing more
of a dark purple. Let's see what this looks
like when we unbold it, but I'm going to
leave it as bold as I think this looks better. Let's just resize this text now, so it's not in the
way of my face. Let's just resize this
image and move this text, so it's not covering the face. A lot of the time when
people look at an image, they're looking at the face, so we don't really want to
cover this with text. Let's copy the text
and textbox from this other template now and
use this for our design. Let's change the rotation and
move the text and textbox. Let's just crop the
textbox and resize it. Now let's change the text, so it says for recording videos. Let's just resize this, so all fits on one line. And now let's change the
effects for the text, and let's add a shadow effect. Let's choose black
for the shadow, so let's adjust the
offset and increase the transparency so we can see the shadow effect
a bit clearer. Let's also adjust the
letter spacing as well. So there's more space
between each letter. Let's just resize this text now, and let's actually
choose a different font. But the font to want to
use is called Inter. Let's let this. L et's also change the font to inter for what it
says, how to use. Let's just make a few
tweaks to the text now. Let's look at
adjusting this image. We can adjust the
vignette effect, if we wish, so the edges of the image can be
darker or lighter. We can also adjust the clarity. But for this, I think
it's fine as it was. I'm going to put
these back to zero, but feel free to experiment with these settings
for your own designs. I'm going to add a shape now, and I'm going to use this to
hide the hands in the image. Let's change the color of this, and let's drag this
down to hide the hands. Let's also change
the transparency so we can see a bit of
the image coming through. Let's click on layer and
then click Send backward, so it doesn't cover the text. Let's just move this
down and resize this, and let's try a different color. For this, let's choose
a black, purple color. Let's now adjust the photo and make it a bit brighter,
so it stands out. So let's click on the photo
and then click on edit Photo, and now let's increase
the brightness. And let's also
adjust the contrast. Well, I don't think we need to change the rest of
the settings here, so let's leave them as they are. Let's now adjust the text
and the letter spacing. Let's just adjust the text
slightly to line it up. Let's now click on your camera and I don't want this a talic, so it's different
from the first line. And there you go.
There's our design. So that's how I made a video

one is suitable, so let's click to add this. I'm just going to
delete the text here and also these icons. So here we have two

here, we have a crab. So for the image on the left, where we have the ingredients, I want to make sure it

and move this text. I'm just going to adjust
the direction again, and you can see here, the shadow move when we adjust
the direction. Let's also adjust the offset and put the transparency to 100%. Let's actually
duplicate this text. Now I'm going to add
the words, papa salad. And let's change the color
to this yellow color. Let's actually change
the text to black. For this, I don't want
to have a shadow, but I do want to add a box. And then later, I'll
add a yellow box. But I do want to add
this box and then put it behind the text to
help the text stand out. So let's just put
this around the text. Now we can clearly
read the words, papaya salad, and let's just
position this in the middle. Let's now sell out the box, and I'm going to change
the transparency. Now we can see the
images behind, but it still allows
the text to stand out. Let's now resize these
boxes and the text. Okay, I'm just going
to adjust a line spacing for the
words how to cook. Let's make it a bit tighter
and put it in the center. L et's close a side menu now and just have a
look at this design. The last thing I'm
going to do is make these images
a bit brighter. So let's click on the
image on the left, and then click on edit photo. And now let's click on adjust, and let's make the
temperature a bit cooler. Now let's increase
the brightness and adjust the contrast. So now this image
stands out more. Let's do the same for
the second image, so let's click on

26. What Should a Good Resume Include: Hi, and welcome to this section, where you learn how to
create resume in Canva. In this first lesson, we'll
discuss a resume or CV. So if you just want to learn
how to make the design, then consider
skipping the section and just view the demo resumes, we create in the next section. However, if you want to learn some information about
what makes a good resume, then I recommend
watching this section. Okay, so let's get started. Let's first talk about
a resume versus a CV. So you may hear the
words resume and CV, but you may not know
the difference. They are a little different,
so let me explain now. CV stands for curriculum Vita. It's essentially a list that displays
someone's education, work history, accomplishments,
and achievements. These are popular in the
UK, Europe, and Asia. A CV can be more
than two pages long. It's used for applying for standard or regular
jobs, a government job, or an education job,
such as a teacher, and it's also used for a university scholarship
application. ACV also doesn't need to
be updated too often. Let's now talk about
what resume is. This is a summary of yourself
and what you want to represent to the company you're interested
in working with. This includes useful skills
relevant to the job position, education history,
and work experience. It doesn't need to be
as detailed as a CV. Resumes are popular
in a USA and Canada. This is usually
only one page long, normally in A four page. These are used to apply for regular or standard jobs
and also office jobs. A resume should also be updated often and tailored for the job position you're
applying for. So why is having a
good resume important? Having a well written resume
that fits the need of the job position can help you land more jobs and get
more opportunities. A resume can often be the first thing someone
hears about you. Making a great first impression can help get you
to the next step, which is usually
the job interview, and having a great resume can also help you stand out
from other applicants. Let's now talk about things to know to help you
create a great resume. So you can have
many resumes with different styles
that you can use when applying for
different job positions. The resume should
include useful skills, especially those
needed for the job. For example, if you
previously studied a subject and want to work
outside of that industry, your resume should include any new skills you've required relevant to the job position. Let's say you've
graduated in chemistry and want to apply for a
video editor position. In that case, I
recommend tailoring your resume around your video
editing and computer skills rather than your chemistry
knowledge and qualifications as they're not really relevant to the video editing job role. If you're new to working in an industry and you're worried that the company may choose someone more experienced
for the job, try not to worry too much as often companies will
choose recent graduates. Some companies may also look for people with
less experience, but the pay may be less than
if you're more experienced. So try to make your resume
as good as possible and gradually build up your skills and experience over time. Let's now look at creating a great looking
resume design that hopefully gives more
job opportunities. Let's now have a look at a quick example guide for
designing a good resume. Let's look at these two
different job roles that we want to
make a resume for. These are a graphic designer and a receptionist for a hotel. Let's start with a
graphic designer job. For this position, I recommend having a stylish
and creative design so that people
looking at the resume instantly know you have
a good eye for design. I actually know someone
who is an architect, and they studied
architecture university. After they graduated, they wanted to find a job
as an architect. So to stand out, they
made the resume into a handmade pop up card of a building that displayed
their skills and experience. When the person
opened this card, they saw the detailed
building that they had made and can tell they put a lot
of time and effort into it. They then got an interview
and landed this job. So this is an example of how to stand out
from the crowd and grabs people's attention with a well designed and
creative resume. This example was a
physical resume, but can still apply this
to a digital resume. When you send a
company your resume, you can include a link to your website or previous
projects you've worked on. Having your own website
can help you stand out. Your website can
also be a portfolio that displays your previous
work and achievements. You can also include
photographs of previous work or projects
you've been involved with. You can easily create
a simple website on Google sites or another
website builder, but this goes beyond the
scope of this course. However, I recommend you do it. If you don't have
your own website, you can still attach photos and links to a PDF resume file, which people can click to view previous projects you've
been involved with. Also, having your own
custom e mail address can help you look
more professional. Instead of having@gmail.com,
for example, you can use at your name.com
or your brand name. This can make you
look professional and can help you stand out
from the other applicants. Okay, let's now have a look
at the other resume example. This is for a receptionist
job at hotel. This job requires the applicant to have good customer service, communication, language,
and management skills, and ideally hospitality
experience. So for this resume, I
recommend including details about any experience
related to the position. Any feedback from
customers who are impressed with your previous
work or service could be a great addition to
this resume as this can prove you have good
customer service skills. You could provide
this via a link to a page that displays
good reviews and feedback or include screenshot or photos of these
reviews in the resume. Let's now talk about what a
good resume should include. When creating a resume, I recommend including
these key points. First of all, the information is appropriate for
the job position. It's only one page long. The design is clear
and easy to read, is up to date in
the latest version. And also, the design
of the resume matches the job position
and shows your style. Okay, so now let's have a
look at these examples here. These are some resume cava
templates that we found. The design on the left is for an IT project manager position. It looks calm, simple,
and professional. For this type of
job, I wouldn't make the design too
creative or funky. I'd keep it simple
and professional. The resume on the right is
for a product designer job. This is a bit more colorful
and looks a bit more fun with the photos pink background and the designs pink tone. That's because this job is in more of a creative industry, and this style matches
the job role a bit more than the simple
professional design like the other one. Okay, so that's
end of this video, where we've looked at what
a resume should include, and also a resume versus a CV. In the next lesson,

27. Tips for Adding a Photo to Your Resume: Tips for adding a
photo to your resume. Okay, and now let's talk about having a photo
in your resume. Many companies
would like to have a photo attached to a resume, especially if the job involves working in
front of customers. That way the company can see if you look friendly
and professional. Having a photo, especially a
professional looking photo can help your resume stand out. This should hopefully make it easier to move to
the next stage, which is normally the interview. However, just be aware that some companies do not
want you to include a photo as they do
not want to be seen as choosing someone based
on as or appearance. So research the
company beforehand and decide whether or not to
include a photo of yourself. Let's presume that
the company would like a photo view
on your resume, and let's now discuss some
tips for including a photo. Firstly, a good photo can mean different things
to different people. For example, the first
photo here is a great photo for social media or for sharing with your
friends and family, as this is a nice travel photo with an amazing background. However, for applying for a job, this is irrelevant, and the background is quite
pointless for a resume photo. Let's now look at
the second photo. This is an example
of a good photo. The photo has good lighting. We can clearly see the
face of the person. They have a welcoming smile, and they are dressed politely. The third photo is an example of a bad photo for a resume. The person isn't
dressed professionally. They look like they're wearing gym or yoga clothes,
which are too revealing. For example, you may think a photo like this is
great for social media, but it's not really
suitable for a resume. However, it does
depend on the job. For a gym trainer
or a fashion model, this is probably fine, but for most regular jobs, it's
probably not suitable. Next, choose a photo
with a nice smile. When we see someone smile, it instantly makes them
look more friendly. So when you look at
these three photos here, we can see that the
first and third person look friendly and
have a nice smile, but the second
person or the person in the middle looks
quite aggressive and unfriendly as they are not smiling and are pulling
an intimidating pose. So I recommend smiling. You can show your teeth
like in the third photo or not show your teeth like in the first photo
if you prefer. Either is fine. Next, let's discuss how to choose a
good photo for your resume. Dress professionally
and politely. However, it does
depend on the job. If it's for a job at a gym, showing your muscles and
physique could be a good thing, but for a more regular job, say an office job or a teacher, it's better to be dressed
politely in your photo. The photo on the right
is an example of a good photo for a resume
for a teacher position. They are dressed
smart and polite, have a nice smile and seem
welcoming and friendly. People can be judgmental and
first impressions count, so recommend dressing appropriately for
your resume photo. I recommend choosing
a photo that clearly shows your face and where
you're not too far away. I also don't recommend wearing
sunglasses in your photo. The first photo here
is a good photo. It clearly shows the face with a nice smile and a polite shirt. The second photo isn't good, as we can't see their face
as they're too far away. The third photo also isn't good because they're wearing
sunglasses that hides their eyes. Even though the
sunglasses in clothes, they wear a
fashionable, this photo doesn't seem suitable
for a resume. We also recommend choosing
a photo that looks natural. For example, I wouldn't
choose one that pulls too much of a
pose or is too stylish. We're looking for simple,
natural, and professional. These photos here
might be fine for social media, but
not for a resume. The second photo might be fine if you zoom in
on just the face, but the photo quality will
need to be high to do that. I also recommend using a high quality DSLR
or mirrorless camera with a good lens rather than a phone unless the phone
camera is very good. That way you can
get a great shot, and this will make you
look more professional. If you have a photo that looks
like it's taken by a pro. If you don't have one
of these cameras, I recommend asking
a friend who has a good camera to help
you take some photos. Alternatively, you can
hire a local photographer. You can even rat
cameras for the day. For example, in the UK, there's a website
called Fat Lama, where you can rant camera
equipment by the day. Let's quickly discuss hairstyle. If you have long hair, I recommend that doesn't
cover your face too much. So for the first photo here, I don't recommend this because
they're wearing a hat, and accessories
on their hair are not suitable for a resume photo. The second photo is professional looking as they look too
serious and unfriendly, and their hair covers
too much of their face. The third photo looks like it was taken
by a professional, but it looks more like
a shampoo commercial and doesn't look suitable
for applying for a job. I'm sure it's fine for social
media or modeling picture, but not for a resume. Let's now discuss lighting. A well lit photo can
improve the quality of the photograph and make you look nicer and more trustworthy. Here is a photo of me with
the same pose and shirts. The difference is that
the first photo is well lit and looks
friendly and professional, while the second photo
looks dark and moody and much less friendly and gives
a very different feeling, and that's all down
to the lighting. The second photo might be
fine for an artist photo, for example, but
not for a resume. Okay, so that's the

28. Important Details to Include in Your Resume: Let's now talk about
some important details to include in your resume. Let's first discuss
the basic information. First of all, we must
include your full name, which should be in a large
font, so it's easy to read. Next is your birthday and Age. You may or may not
need to include this, depending on the country
you're applying for jobs. Some countries such as the UK, don't require
personal information, including age, marital status, nationality, spiritual
beliefs, and a photo. So I recommend
researching to see if the country you're
applying for jobs requires this information. And then your phone number,
e mail, and website. If possible, I recommend
including all free, to make it easier for the
company to contact you. As mentioned previously, a would make your website
essentially a detailed portfolio of your
previous work that employees can view and can make you look more professional. Okay, let's now look an example. Here we have some
basic information for the person's resume. We have their full name
and date of birth, and we also have their
marital status and address. This resume is from
a Canva template. As I said, depending on
the country you're in, you may not need to
include a photo, date of birth, marital status, or nationality, but we have
it here for this example. We also have their
contact information, which includes a phone number, e mail, and website. Let's now talk about
work experience. Include the name of
the previous workplace and put this in bold.
Then the job role. Put the job role in a larger
text so the person reading the resume can easily
see the name of the previous company and
your different job roles. Then the duration of
your previous job. Add this so the
person reading it can see how long you've had
a job for in the past. Then explain some details
about the previous job roles. This gives context
to the job roles, so the person reading can see your duties and the skills
you've learned from previous jobs can be useful or not in the new job
you're applying for. I also recommend putting the last job first and then
go backwards from there. Okay, let's have a
look and example now. In bold, you can see, we have the names of the
previous workplaces. Then we have the duration
of the previous jobs, and also the job role. And below here, we
have some details about the previous job roles. Then it's time to put any
education experience. I recommend putting the
most advanced education you have first or the one
most suitable for the job. For example, any degrees or qualifications related to
the job you're applying for. If you went to university, you can put the
name of the degree and the major you studied. Then I recommend
putting the duration of the education so they can see
how long you studied for. For example, in the UK, a full time undergraduate
degree is normally for years, and a full time master's degree is normally one year
for most subjects. It may be a different
duration for some subjects, such as an undergraduate
medical degree, which is five years in the UK. Then put the facility
you graduated from. This can be useful
if you studied a subject that can be
applicable in the new job role. If you have qualifications
other than a degree, you can also put these. If they are specific
to a job role, then they may be more
useful than a degree. For example, a commercial
driver's license may be more useful than a
university degree for a truck driver's role, but maybe not for an office job. It all depends on the
job you're applying for. You can also put
your high school as well if you graduated
from high school. In the UK, it's a
little different. Our high school or
secondary school, as we call it has GCSE qualifications, which
everyone needs to do. And then we have a level
qualifications after this, which are not mandatory. It may be different
in your country. We can also add
any qualifications from school to your resume, especially if they're relevant to the job you're applying for. Okay, so let's now have a
look at this example here. In the education section here, we can see they have
a bachelor's degree. Then it says the facility
they graduated from. Then it says the name
of the university, when they studied and the
duration of their study. Then it says high school, the program they studied,
the name of the school, when they studied
and a duration. Internship experience. If you have little or
no work experience, you can include any internships, especially if they are relevant to the job you're applying for. This is better than not
including anything at all. You should put any internship
information down like this. The name of the
company interned at, the duration of the internship, and the projects you weren't involved in when
you weren't intern. Let's have a look at
this example here. So you can see here
on their resume, we have a section for their
internship experience. Here it has the names of the
companies they interned at, when they interned, and the
duration of their internship. And with these
bullet points here, it describes the
projects they're involved in when
they weren't intern. Let's now talk about
volunteer work. This work shows the
company that you're a kind and caring person
who wants to help others. Let's now look at how to put volunteer work into a resume. I recommend adding volunteer
work in this format, the name of the company or
place you volunteered at, how long did you
volunteer here for, and what did you do during
your volunteer work? Let's have a look at
this example here. So we can see here what they did for their
volunteer experience. And below this, we
can see the name of the company that
they volunteered at. Then we can see when
they volunteered and the duration of their
volunteer experience. Then with these bullet points, it describes what they did
in their volunteer work. Next, we have skills. I recommend adding
any skills that will be useful for the
job you're applying for. If you have a driver's license, you can include it, if you think it might be useful for the job. If you can speak or read any
language other than English, you can include this if
it's relevant to the job. You can also include any
computer or software skills such as photoshop or Excel, if they are relevant to the job. Some resume templates
have a graph, star, or level bar to
describe their skill level. However, I recommend
writing down your skill level
rather than using a level bar or graph
to display it. A level bar or graph might look good from a
design point of view, but I don't think
it's as professional. So let's have a look at
these examples here. The resume on the left displays a skills under expertise,
and also language. The resume on the right has
this skill section here, which displays a skills
with these stars. As I said, I'm not really
a fan of the stars. I do think it's better
just to list them. Reference. Let's now talk
about your references. People who are looking
through resumes may wish to contact
previous employers. Before being considered
for any new job role, your references may be
contacted to check that your information is correct and that you were a good
worker for the company. Many people include the
contact information for the HR department
from the old workplace, their manager, or the
company's CEO as a reference. However, I only recommend
putting someone down as a reference if you had a
good relationship with them, and you know they
will talk about you positively if requested. If you don't have any
work experience yet, you can include the
contact information of a university teacher or someone you've known through
volunteer work, for example. You can also put down
someone who is in a good position who
knows and trusts you. For this example, they've
included the name and contact details for CEOs from previous companies
they've worked at. Okay, now let's talk about attaching any documents
to your resume. So you can attach
any useful documents if they're relevant to the
job you're applying for. You could attach certificates, which could help
prove you have useful skills for the job
you're applying for. Again, they will need to be relevant for the job position. You could also include
any grade certificates. These show how many
classes you've taken, what subjects they're
in, and your grade. You could also include
a TFL certificate. Some job roles may request that applicants have a
high Tele score, such as English teachers
or air hostesses. This may be useful to include if English isn't
your first language, and you want to prove you
speak English at a high level. You can also include
a portfolio. This can be useful to display any previous work
that you've done. For example, if you're applying for a graphic design position, it can be important to show any previous work you've done to prove you're a good designer. Let's now talk about reviews. Attaching previous
positive customer reviews can be useful depending on
the job you're applying for. This is more for jobs where you have contact
with the customers. This feedback lets
future employees know that you have good
customer service skills. In some jobs, you will get
customer ratings and reviews, and you can add some of your
best reviews to your resume. For example, here we have
review papers from a hotel. This is feedback
from the customer as they checked
out of the hotel. So the guests here gave great reviews for the receptionist. So if you're applying
for a customer facing job or a job in direct
contact with customers, reviews like this could
be useful to add to your resume to prove that
you were good at your job. Okay, so that's the

important details to include in your resume. So a good resume isn't
just about a good design. It's also important to consider the information and the
order of the resume. I hope you find

now in cama.com. And here I have Google Doc, of the information that I'm
going to add to the resume. If we want to learn about
what information to add, please check out the previous
videos where we cover this. So here we have the
name and information, a summary about
themselves, their skills, languages, education,
internship experience, volunteer experience, work experience,
and the references. Okay, let's go back to Canva. In the search bar up here, let's type in resume to have a look at some resume templates. So Camera's got a load
of great templates. I'm going to use this one
down here for this example. This resume is for a
video editor position, and I think this
design looks suitable. It's stylish but
professional looking. Let's now click on
customize this template. Let's just zoom in with
the bar down here. Let's go back to
the Danna resume, and let's copy over the name. Now let's paste this in
to replace this name. Now we're also going to
copy over the position, which is video editor, and let's paste this
in the subtitle below. Let's just resize this shape, and also adjust the text, so it looks a bit neater. Let's just drag over all
of this and move it up. So it's level with the
top of the photograph. Now let's drag over
the shape, the text, and the photograph,
and move up so we have more space for the rest
of the text in the resume. Let's also resize
this photograph and make it a bit smaller. We have this contact
information here. I'm just going to move this
up and then resize this. Let's actually make the space between each one a bit tighter. So let's just click and
drag up between each one. I like to highlight the text once I've added in
the information. So we know what's been added
and to keep it organized. Let's just copy over the phone number now and paste in here, and let's copy over the e mail
address and paste in here. I don't want this
to be underlined, so let's click this
button up here. Let's just click on this
pencil button here, and I'm just going
to remove the link. If you're sending
this as a PDF resume, maybe having a link
to an email address or a website might be useful. But for this example,
I'm going to remove it. Let's do the same
for the website. Let's copy and paste this over. Again, I don't want
this underlined and let's remove the link. Then we have the address, so let's copy and paste this over. Then I'm just going to
duplicate this text over here. But before we do this,
let's go back to the document and highlight the information
we've already added. Now we're going to add some
basic information for the CV. So we're going to add
data birth, nationality. And also marital status. Depending on what
country you're in and also what job
you're applying for, you may or may not need to add personal
information like this. But for this example,
we're going to add it. Let's just duplicate
this text box over here, then go back to the document, and then copy and
paste the information from the text document
into the resume. Let's just select all of
these and change the color. Let's choose this yellow color, so it matches with the rest of the design and makes it
a bit more interesting. Let's now drag and select
over this text box and line, duplicate this, and move it up. Before we move on, let's highlight the information
we previously added. Okay, now we're going
to add the summary, so let's change experience
to say summary. I also want to have this
in capital letters. Let's just move this line up. Let's now duplicate
this text box, and then add the information
from the document. So let's copy this over
into this text box here. Let's now resize this. Let's duplicate this again. But before we move on, let's highlight what we just
added in a text document. Let's change education on
the left here to say skills. Let's just resize this and move it up, so we have
a bit more space. I'm going to delete this and just have this text box here, where we're going
to list the skills. Here we have the skills. Let's copy and paste this, and I don't want to have this bold, so let's click on
this B button here. Let's also make the font a bit smaller and reposition this. Some people may have percentage bars next to their skills, but for this, I'm just
going to list them. Again, let's go back
to the document and highlight what
we just added. Okay, let's not add language, so let's copy and
paste this from the document into the resume. Again, let's delete the
rest of the text boxes here and copy and paste the information
into this one textbox. Again, let's change the
text size to size ten, so it matches the text above. Let's just reposition
and move this up now. Let's now move language up here. And I'm going to change
this, so it says reference. We do have the reference
on the right here, but I want to move
it on the left. So let's copy and paste
this into this text box. Let's now drag over one
of these references. But as you can see,
we need to change the text color or we
won't be able to see it. So let's change it
to a white color. Let's just move
this up slightly. And let's just duplicate this. Let's go back to
our text document and highlight what
we added previously. Okay, let's go down to
the references here, and let's copy and paste the
name of the first reference. Now let's copy and paste
over their job position, and also their phone
number, and e mail address. Now let's add the name
of the second reference. Their job position,
phone number, and e mail address. Again, I don't want
this to be underlined, and I also don't
want to link this. Let's hit the pencil icon
and delete the link. Let's just resize this slightly. Again, let's highlight
what we've added. Okay, now let's add
their education. And let's duplicate
this text box here, and also this larger text in
bold, and put this above. Let's duplicate this once more. Let's just change the size so the text below is a bit smaller. Let's just delete this
here as we don't need this, and move this line up. Let's just drag
this down and also delete a reference down here as we've added it on the left. Now we have a bit more space, so we can add their
education information. And now let's go back
to the text document and copy and paste over
their degree information. So first of all, their degree
type and when they studied, and then the name
of the subject, and where they studied a. Now let's add their next
education information, which in this case is
their secondary school, and when they studied. Let's also add their
level of study, which in this case is A levels, and also the name of the school. So let's click over all
of this and drag it up. Okay, let's highlight this in the text document and move
on to work experience. Now let's change experience
to work experience, and let's capitalize this. Let's just move this line up, so it matches the other lines. I want to have the
bold and largest text first, so let's move this up. Let's go back to our
document and I want to put the most recent
work experience first. So let's copy over this one first as this is
the most recent. So we have the name
of the job role, and the years they
worked this job. Let's delete this
text down here. We don't need this. Let's duplicate what
we just added here. Now let's add the information
about the job role. We don't need both
of these textboxes, so I'm going to
delete this one here, and now let's paste
in this information. Let's just resize this, and now let's make the
font a bit smaller. Let's also move up
this bullet point. And now let's move
up these textboxes. So it's neater and
there's less space. Let's now highlight
what we just added. And now let's copy
over the next job, starting with the
name of the company, and when they
worked at this job. As the first job was an
independent freelance job, we didn't need to put
the name of the company, but the next job was
working with a company, so let's put this company
information here. Now let's put the
name of the job role, and also the duties for the job. Again, let's change the font size to match the text above. Let's duplicate this once more, and let's drag up
this bullet point, so it matches the third title. Let's go back to
the text document and highlight what
we just added, and now add the third work
experience information. So let's add the name of the company and the
years they work there. Let's now add the
name of the job role and the duties for the job. Let's click on the text boxes and make the font a bit larger. Now we have this
space down here. Let's just move this
all up slightly, so we have a bit more
space down here. Let's now duplicate
this education information and drag
this down here. But before we move on, let's highlight what we just added. Okay, now we're going to
add internship experience. Let's copy and paste
this over here, and then add the information
for the first company. So we have the name
of the company and when they interned here. Let's now copy and paste over their duties for
this internship. Now let's duplicate
this, and now let's add their
volunteer experience. Let's copy and paste over where it says volunteer experience. Now let's include where they volunteered and when they did. Let's duplicate this textbox, and let's unbold this and
make the font a bit smaller. Now we're going to put the name or their volunteer experience. Now we're going to put down
what they volunteer dos. Let's now add their duties. Let's just change
the font here and make it a bit smaller
to neaten this up. Okay, I'm just going to move the reference down here slightly. And now let's change
the photograph. Depending on what country you're in and also what
the job role is, you may or may not need
to include a photograph. So be sure to research this
before creating your resume. But for this example, we're going to include a photograph. So let's delete this
previous photo, and now let's upload our photo. So let's click on
loads and load files, and here we're going
to choose our photo. So let's click and drag
this over to the photo box. We don't need to
include all this photo, so let's just drag this over, so we just see the head
and shoulders really. Now let's click done. And now let's just move this over a little bit more so it's
more in the center. Okay, let's zoom out and
have a look at all this. So let's just have a
quick check of this. So of course, I recommend
proof reading and making sure the designs all fine
before you send this to anyone. Okay. All that's good to me, looks professional and stylish. One last thing we're
going to do is rename this in Canva to

30. Why are Presentations Useful?: Hi, and welcome to this
section where you learn how to create a well designed and interesting presentation. So let's get
started. Let's first talk about what a
presentation is. So a presentation
is a visual way to present information in
a more creative manner. It consists of slides that can display texts,
graphs, and images. Someone can then show this
presentation and explain the points in the slide and can also expand on
this information, just like what I'm doing now. Let's now talk
about why a clear, concise, and well designed
presentation can be useful. Time is important
and people want to understand and digest
information as fast as possible. So if you want to
create presentation, then it's best to keep
it clear and concise. Also, having a well designed presentation can make it more fun and can make it more exciting and less
boring for the viewers. As I said, I
recommend keeping it concise and not
having too much text. Too much text can
make the slides look cluttered and can
take too long to read. Often the speaker will speak more than just the
text on the screen. The text on the
screen is usually a summary of what they
will say for that slide. If all of the text is displayed on the slide and
it's not summarized, then it can be
difficult to understand and can bore the audience
with too much text. A good presentation will be
clearly designed and will use a combination of texts and photos and can also use graphs. This will make the
presentation a lot more interesting and
easier to understand, as well as to help the viewers
remember the information. So who should use
a presentation? A presentation is for anyone who needs to present
in a visual way. This could be at
work, for example. This could be used to
train a team or to present new findings or ideas to
managers, clients or customers. For example, someone who's
a web developer may need to present to their clients about their requirements
for any new projects. Students can also
use presentations at their school or university. This allows them to
present their work or research to other
students or teachers. For example, the first
photo shows someone presenting with a flow chart
in front of their class. The second photo shows university students presenting
their working class. Teachers. A presentation
can also be displayed in a classroom or over a video conference on
applications such as Zoom. The video presentation can be
streamed live or recorded. For example, the video you're watching right now
is a presentation. If the teacher uses a well
designed presentation, it can be more interesting, and the information can be easier to digest
with text summaries, images, and graphs,
rather than just speaking the information
or reading from a script. The first photo here
shows a teacher speaking in front of their
class with their presentation. The second photo shows a teacher hosting an online class
with a presentation. YouTubers or content creators. All the presentation
slides can be recorded and a
voiceover added later. For example, the
photo on the left shows all the presentation
pages in camera. These can be
exported as a video, and we can see this up
here in the top right. All the voiceover audio can then be added
to the slides in video editing software and
then edited and published. Okay, so that's the
end of this video. We've looked at what
our good presentation is and how it can be useful. So I hope you

31. Tips to Make your Presentation Look Interesting: Hi there and welcome
to this video, where we give you
some tips on how to make your presentations
more interesting. First of all, you
will need to think about the topic for
your presentation. Then you will need
to summarize all of the important information and add this to your
presentation slides. Remember, you don't need to add everything that you'll
speak in your presentation. You only need to put the
important sentences and phrases. Then you can add notes
to help you elaborate on these important sentences and
phrases while you present. Okay, let's now look at
the image on the right. Here we've summarized
all of the information, and we've only added the important sentences
to this slide. Then we have the
notes on the left, which only the
presenter will see. The audience or viewers won't
be able to see these notes. These notes can
include more details or even the script for
the presenter to read. Next, let's talk about the target audience for
your presentation. For example, if you want to make a presentation for
teaching children, you will need to adapt
your design for them. So if it's for children, then the presentation should
be fun with lots of photos and not too much text to try to keep the
children's attention. You also need to think
about your language and avoid using words or phrases that the children
might not understand. You should also ensure
that the photos and videos in the presentation
are suitable for children. If your presentation showcases your research and your
audience as teachers, you must ensure that the
information is correct and reliable and that you attach
any needed references. Using graphs to show the
information can also help make the presentation look
more professional and makes it easier to
understand the data. I also don't recommend putting
too much text on one page. If you have a lot of
texts to include, I recommend summarizing it. You can always read
out all of the text, but it can be too tiresome
on the eyes and can make the presentation too
dull and boring if there's just too much
text on one page. I also recommend only putting
one subject on each slide. Don't try to cover too
much in one slide. Doing so will make the slide
look too busy and messy. For example, both
images on the left, summarize the buck
page on the right. Here we separated them into two slides and only
added the keywords. Next, choose a suitable font that's modern and easy to read. Don't try to make the
font look too fancy. Remember, we want to
make it easy to read. Also, the color of the
font needs to stand out and not disappear
into the background. For example, let's look at
this image on the left. Here we're using a large modern
font that's easy to read. We also use yellow and
white colors for the font, so it stands out
against the background, and this makes it easy to read. The image on the
right uses less text and has icon images
of applications. These images help make the
slide look more interesting, and we use a yellow
textbox which allows a black text to stand out
and makes it easy to read. We also need to make sure that the text layout
doesn't look messy. We want to make sure it's
in the correct position, so the presentation
looks well organized. Now let's talk about the
background color for the slides. I recommend using colors
that aren't too contrasting. The background color
should be basic and soft. Let's have a look at
these examples here. The first image has a white
text box behind the text. This looks simple and stylish. The next slide image has a
contrast in background color, and the white text has really
gotten lost in the image. Then in the third image, we
have the same background. We've added a white
text box in front of this image and changed
the text to black. Now we can clearly
read the text, and it looks a lot neater. Next, I recommend that
you use photos and graphs to explain things
in a more interesting way. These can also make the data or information easier
to understand. Let's have a look at
these examples here. The graph on the left uses the same information as
the graph on the right. So we have different
types of graphs that we can use to display
information or data. We also have a pie chart in
the middle and something like this is easy to understand and looks quite interesting. I also recommend
using photos and graphics related to the
content we want to present. For example, the image in
the top left is of a hotel, and this slide is about
a hotel promotion. This makes the slide a lot more interesting than if it
didn't have an image. The image in the bottom left is of a contact slide
for the hotel. Here you can see that the person the image
is on the phone, so we know this slide is
about contact in the hotel. Then we have graphics
in the top right, which are related to
the hotel facilities. Here we have a graphic
for the restaurant, swimming pool, and gym. Again, this is more exciting
than just having text. Then we have the photos
in the bottom right, which display the room types. People viewing
this slide can see the photos of the rooms
that they can rent. It's better to see this
than just the text, so people know exactly
what the rooms look like. Next, let's talk about attaching links or videos to
the presentation. This allows you to
show more information. For example, these
could be links to your website or links to
videos on sites like YouTube. This is more for a PDF or if someone is viewing your
presentation in their own time. However, this could still
be used if you want to show websites or play a video
drawing your presentation. Let's have a look at
these examples here. The example on the left
links to a website. The link is attached
to a software logo, so people can view or download it if they want to
use the software too. So people can click on this logo and view the website
for the software. Then we have the
slide on the right, which has a YouTube
video embedded into it. People can click on
this to play the video, or that can be sent to YouTube where they
can play the video. Also, you can attach
a PDF flipbook link. This allows you to
display a PDF book. With this, you can add
additional information, and you can ask people to check out your flipbook
link to learn more. You can also include
a QR code links.com, which is u.com. Like
this example here. With this, people can open
their phones camera and access the link for a QR
code. Add effects. In Canvas, you can use presentation effects
to help make the presentation look
more interesting. This can be especially useful if you're presenting
to children, or you're presenting quite
a dry or boring topic that you want to make a
bit more interesting. For example, the video on the left shows some
presentation effects. This has been made for children
to make the video more interesting with some effects and hopefully hold
their attention. And the last tip is to check and proof read
your presentation. Doesn't look professional
if you have spelling or grammatical mistakes
in your presentation. So use the spelling and
grammar checker such as grammarly to help you
correct any mistakes. Okay, for that send

use one of these pages. And the page I want to use. Is this one here, page nine. So let's delete all the other
pages and just use this. Let's first of all, change
the color for this box. I'm going to choose
a yellow color. Let's also change the
color for the text. As this white color seems
to get lost in this yellow. Let's change this
to a black color. I'm going to delete all
these text boxes here. So we just have
the heading text. And now I'm going to
click on all of these and resize these to make
these a bit bigger. And now let's resize these so the images are a
bit closer together. And let's also move the
text and the box down. Now I'm going to
change the color of these shapes and the corners. Let's choose the
same yellow color. And I'm going to change
the slide color as well. I want to create a purple color. So I'm going to actually choose my own custom color for this. So think around here
should be good. Now I'm going to change the border color
for these images. Let's choose a red pink color, and I'll choose my own color. Now let's duplicate this, and let's click on
design on the left, and now I'm going to find
another presentation template. I'm going to choose
this one here. Feel free to choose your own. You don't have to use the
exact same one as me. I just want to show you
the different steps involved in making
a presentation. Okay, so I don't want to
add all of these 11 pages. I just want to add
this one here. So let's click on
this. Let's just close the side panel now so
we have a bit more space. Let's now delete this image
here and add my own image. So I'm going to click on loads, and then upload files. Here I have my own design
that I created previously. And drag this over to add this. Okay, now I'm going to
open up my PDF book, and I'm going to copy
some of the texts from this PDF book to
this presentation. I'll just type in
this text here, but I can copy and paste it from the PDF as well, if I wish. Okay, let's just resize this, and let's change the color
to this yellow color again. Let's just copy over

windows to copy, pressing Control V on

Add page and Canva and let's change the color
to a white color for this. Let's also add a shape. I'm going to use these
shapes for the corners. Let's click on this, press
the duplicate button, and put this in the bottom
right corner as well. Let's copy the text from this slide and paste
into this new slide. Let's chooe this text
here called Montserrat. Let's now copy the title from this PDF page and paste it into this text
box and that slide. I don't want this
center alignment, I want the text to
be on the left, and we can change this by
clicking this button here. And let's capitalize the text by pressing this button here. Let's now duplicate
this text box, and I don't want this bold. So we can press this B button
again, so it's not bold. Let's readjust this
to change the size. Let's actually
choose another font. Let's chooe this one here
called IBM Plex Mono. I don't want the
text capitalized, so let's press this
button up here again. Let's actually
choose another font. Let's choose this of one
called IBM Plex Sands. Okay, I think that's
more suitable. Now let's copy and
paste the text from the PDF into this textbox. I'm going to change the text here as it says in this video, as this is now a presentation. So let's just delete this and change it to say,
let's have a look. Let's make the text
fill the textbox by pressing the
alignment button again. Let's now highlight
the next set of texts that we're going to
copy to our presentation. Before we paste this
into our slide, I'm just going to change the
line spacing for this title. Let's click on this, and let's click on the spacing
button up here. Let's just make
it a bit tighter, so we have a bit more space. Let's also add an element. We're going to choose this
circle here, and by default, it's also the same purple
color that we've already used, and we're going to
leave it this color. We're going to
duplicate the circles and add numbers to these, and then add the
texts next to these. Let's duplicate these by
pressing the duicate button, and let's have four, and let's
make these a bit bigger. The next step is to
add this text here, Let's copy the first one
here and paste this in. Let's just resize this textbox
and make this text bold, by pressing the B
button up here. Let's just make
this a bit bigger, and let's also change the
color to this purple color. Let's duplicate
the text again by pressing on this text and
pressing the duplicate button. Let's now copy and
paste the next one. And again, let's duplicate this and then copy and
paste the third one. This one is a bit longer, so we need to resize
this textbox. Let's actually make this
text box on the left a bit smaller and then move
the text on the right over, so we have a bit more space. Let's now duplicate
the text box again, and then copy and paste
the last one over. Let's now duplicate this textbox and type in the number one. Let's change the color
to a white color. Let's choose a different font. Let's choose this Monster
rat fort used before. And let's duplicate this, and this time it's going to be two. And let's duplicate
this again and three, and duplicate again and four. Okay, let's now make
the next slide. Let's change the slide
color to purple. Let's make this title bold. Let's change the color to this yellow color we used before. Let's just resize this text box, and let's copy and paste the title from the
PDF to the slide. Let's just drag over all of this and move this up, so
we have more space. I'm just going to make
the slide color a bit darker so the text
stands out a bit more. So what we're doing now is we're expanding on the
points we did before. I actually summarize
the text from the PDF into a Google Doc. Let's actually copy over
this summarized text as I think there's
a bit too much text in this PDF for the slide. And copy this and paste this into the
text box in the slide. Let's now change the alignment for the text with
this button up here. Let's just click and drag on
this to make this larger, and let's just resize this now. L et's also change the size for the title and resize this. I'm just going to
delete this image here as I want to add
the image from the PDF. So you can upload the
image and drag in here. But for this example, we're
going to add a screenshot. A screenshot may not
be as high quality, but we're going to add
it for this example. And now let's go on
uploads and then click on load files and
find the screenshot, which by default, saved to my desktop. And
let's add this now. Let's now add this to
the placeholder image, and you can see it
snaps into place. Okay, so that's how we made some more slides for
this demo presentation. I hope you found

34. Demo-Add Link to a Presentation: Okay, so now let's have a look at how to add links
to your slides. Before we add a links, let's just edit one of the slides that we made previously. So now I'm going to copy this title from the PDF
and paste it in here. Let's just resize the text box, so it covers this text. Let's just adjust the
line spacing by pressing the spacing button here and
adjusting line spacing. So it's a bit tighter and
we have a bit more space. Let's adjust this now. And let's delete these
images that we had here. Let's just replace these titles with the titles in our PDF. Let's copy and
paste the first one here, and then the second one. Then the third one. And
then the fourth one. Then I want to add four
icon images into the slide. Let's click on
loads on the left, and then click on load
files to add our files. This is saved under

we have this link, and if we click on this, it goes to the manufacturer's website. Let's just close this and do
the same for the next image. So now Google Doc, we have this link here, so
let's copy this. And then re click
on the next image. Then go to Link, pace the link in here,
and then press Done. Let's do this for
the third image now. So let's go back
to our Google Doc and then copy the link
for the third image. Re click on the
image, go to Link, and pace this and

to your presentation. Before I add the YouTube video, I'm just going to quickly
design the slide, and then we'll add the video. So here we have a blank slide
with a purple background. Let's first of all, go to
elements and add a shape. Let's choose the square shape, and let's change the
color to yellow, the same color we used before. I'm just going to resize this
and put it in the corner, just to make the slide look
a bit more interesting. I'm now going to duplicate this and put it in
the bottom right. Let's just change this color to white to make it
a bit different. Now let's copy over
the title text from the slide above and paste
this into our new slide. Let's now change the
text to say Logic Pro, which is about the video
we're about to add. Let's see what this is
like when it's not bold. However, I preferred bold, so let's press this
B button again. Let's also change this color, and let's make the text larger. However, let's change it to
this yellow color again. Now let's add some text effects to make it a bit
more interesting. So let's click on shadow, and let's change the
shadow to a black color. Let's also increase the
offset and the transparency, and let's also adjust
the direction. Let's now increase the size
of this title text again. And now we've
designed the slide. Let's add this YouTube video. To find a YouTube
video in Canva, you all need to have
the exact title name. Alternatively, you can find a video for the
YouTube channel name. So here my Google Doc, I have the name of the
exact video I want to use. So let's copy this now
and go back to Cava, and let's now click on Apps. Let's now type it in YouTube. And then click on YouTube. Now let's click on Open. And now I'm going to paste in the exact name of the video. And here it is the
one at the top. So let's click on this now
to add this to our slide. Let's now see what this looks like if you're
presenting it live. So let's click on present
in the top right, and then go down to present. Now someone can
click on this video in this slide to play
about this video. You can also click
on this link here, which will take you to YouTube where you can play

text that we've cut before. I'm going to unbold this by
pressing this button here, and let's make the
smaller and resize this. I'm also going to change
this two another fonts. Let's try this one
called IBM Plex Sands, and I don't want to have the
text in capital letters. So let's press this button here. Let's just click and
drag over both of these textboxes and
drag them down. Let's put this on a separate
line by pressing Enter. Again, let's resize this and
make this a bit smaller. Let's click and drag over these and put it down slightly again. Okay, let's now add a chart. So let's go over to elements, and then go down to charts, and let's have a
look at some more of these by clicking, C A. So here we have a bar chart, and let's have a look at a few more of these by pressing, C A. This one here is fine, so
let's click to add this. Let's just move this over to
the right and resize this. And up here, we can
change the colors, and we can also
change the column spacing with this slide here. So let's drag this
to the right to make a bit more space
between the columns. We can also change the roundness of the columns with
this slide here. But for this, I think
about here's fine. Okay, let's go back to
our text documents, and here we have the
information for our chart. Let's now copy and paste
information for our bar chart. So here we have different
names of microphones. And with this bar chart, we can compare the price
of the microphones. Where it says Series
one. Let's paste in what we just copied
from our Google Doc. So this is the first microphone, and let's go back
to our Google Doc and copy the next
microphone name, and then paste this
into where it says, Series two. And the
same for the third one. Let's copy this and paste this into where
it says Series three. Let's just change the colors
of these bars quickly. A. Something like this
looks more suitable. You'll notice here
that we don't have the information for
this microphone, which says, Sure SM seven B. You can see here
above it says ABC. We want to have this display
numbers rather than letters, and then go to settings. Now here we have values, and let's now add
Sore SM seven B. If we click on this, we have
this error icon appear. So now we need to
click on this and change the data type
from text to number. Let's now change the labels
to s. Let's copy and paste this over
from our Google Doc to the label section here. So we want to add
a fourth label. So let's add this as well. We can't see this appear yet, so let's go over to settings, and let's click on Select and
Option and choose labels. And now we can see this
update in our Bar chart. Okay, now we're going to add the price for each of
these microphones. I'm just going to remember these and put these in manually. Et's do the same for
the next microphone. We have these numbers here. Let's remember these
and put these in. You can copy and paste, but just to keep this video concise, I'll just remember
these and type them in. Let's change the color
for this next bar. Okay, there we go.
There's our bar chart. Let's now duplicate this and create another type of graph. This time we're going
to choose a line chart. And you can see
here actually uses the same information that
we had in our bar chart. And you can change
the colors for these lines, and
let's do this now. Okay, so once you've added the
information to your chart, you can quickly swap between
the different chart types, and you'll keep
this information. Okay, let's have a look
at another example. So let's delete this line chart, and let's now change the text
here for our other example. Let's now look at
shopping expenses. So let's copy where it says
expenses in our Google Doc, and now paste this into our
textbox in our new slide. Let's just move this up here, and let's actually
change the slides color. Now it's quite hard
to read this text. So let's change this to
a darker color. Okay. I think this blue
color looks good. Let's now go to elements
and add a shape. Let's just resize this, and now let's change the corner
rounding with this slider here. Again, let's change the color, at this time, let's
choose our own color. Let's just change the
text to say week one, and let's make this text bold. Let's now change the font
to something different. Let's choose this text called
Monst that's pretty good. Let's just resize this, and let's change the color to black. Let's move this up here, so
it's on top of this shape. However, let's change the
text to something different. Let's choose this one
called Montas Arabic. Okay, I think that's
suitable now. Let's just resize this box. And let's nudge the text up with the up arrow on our
computer keyboard. Let's just click and drag
over the text in the shape, and let's reposition this. Okay, let's now add a pie chart. Let's click on elements and
then go down to charts, and then click on C O. Now let's add one of
these pie charts. Let's click on this
and let's resize it. So you can see
here we can change the individual colors for each
segment of the pie chart. So let's change
these colors now. Okay, I think this is suitable, and let's now change the
information for the pie chart. Let's actually change this to different shopping expenses. So let's copy the first one, and let's paste this into
where it says item one. You'll notice we have a number next to each
of these as well. Let's just type in the
number as well, which is 20. The next one, which is food. Let's copy and paste
this over to item two, and type in the number here. And then the next one
bills. Let's do the same. And the next one medicine. Let's do the same again.
And the fifth one, let's copy this over,
which is others. Let's add the number here. Okay, let's just click on this, and I'm going to keep
the font as it is, but let's actually
make it italic by selecting the
italic button here. Let's also change
the font color. Let's choose this blue color. But let's actually choose
this purple color, which is from a photograph
in this presentation. Let's now add an infographic, which will display
the information from this pie chart as well. So let's click on elements. And in the charts area here, it says infographic charts. Let's click on CL, and let's choose
this progress bar. And let's just resize this. And here we can change the percentage and
the line weights. So let's change this 211.8, so it matches the same
percentage amount as where it says shopping
in the Pie chart here. Let's just change the color, so it's the same color as
shopping in the Pie chart. L et's also change
the second color to white for this progress bar. Let's make the line
wait a bit bigger, and let's actually
duplicate this. Let's just click and drag over both of these and
reposition them. Let's duplicate this
text box above, and I don't want
to have this bold, and let's just resize this. Okay, let's duplicate this text, and let's change
this to say food. Let's also change
this color here, so it matches with the food
color in the pie chart. Let's now duplicate
this progress bar, and also this text box, and let's rename this to the
next one, which is bills. Again, let's update
this percentage, so this should be 17.6, so it's the same percentage
as in the Pie chart. Let's also change the color, so it's the same color
as in the pie chart. Let's actually click and drag
over both of these now and duplicate both the text box and the progress bar
at the same time. Let's now change this to the
next one, which is medicine. Let's click on the progress bar, and change the color to match
the color in the pie chart. Again, let's click and drag over both of these and
duplicate them. Before we continue, let's update the percentage for medicine. So this is 23.5%, which is the same
as the pie chart. Okay, let's now do the
last one, which is others. So let's click on
this progress bar, and change the
percentage to 35.3, so it's the same
as the pie chart. Let's just click and
drag over all of these and resize and
reposition them. Let's just change the color
for the last progress bar. Let's change it to
this red color, which is the same
as the pie chart. Okay, so we're now at

37. Demo-How Notes is Useful for a Presentor View: Okay, so now, let's have a look at how to use the present
of view in camera. So if you want to present
in front of a classroom, online or even record a video, learning how to use a present of view can be really useful. Here we have this
presentation with these free images and the
summarized text here. We also have notes
for the slide. So we can access these by pressing notes in
the bottom left. This could be the
script for the slide. So the viewer will just see the summarized
notes on the right, but you can read the script
inside the notes area. This way, you're
keeping the text on the slide quite concise, but you'll still read out all of the information
from the notes. So I can expand on
the summarized text, and I can talk about
each photograph here. Let's now have a look
at the presenter view, and we can access this by pressing, present
in the top right. Let's press presenter view here, and you can see it says here, view your notes on
upcoming slides. And let's view these
by pressing present. So here we have two windows. The window on top is
the audience window. So it says here, this window
is what your audience sees. Drag it to the screen
your audience will be looking at and enter
full screen mode. So if you have two
computer monitors, you could put this
on one monitor, or if you have your computer
connect to projector. You could project
this, so the audience just sees this audience window. Also, if you're using the
application such as Zoom, you could have the
viewer view this window. As well, if you want to
record your presentation, you could just record
only this window. Let's close this for now
though, and for now, we're just working with
one screen or one monitor. So for this example, let's
not make this full screen. Fou, let's reposition
these so we can see the audience window and the presenter window on
the same screen. And here it says, This
window is just for you. Place it on the screen
only you can see, such as your laptop or
a fall back monitor. By the way, a fallback monitor is a screen that's
facing the stage. This is not for the audience. This is for the speaker
on stage to view. Okay. Let's close this
pop up for now though. Let's just resize
these so we can see the presenter and audience
window on the same screen. So you can see here
we have our notes. So you can look at these to remind you of what to say next, or you can even read
these as a script. We can also change the
text size down here. We can also see what slide
is next down here as well. Okay, so there's

38. Demo-How to Use a Presentor View in Canva with Zoom: Okay, so now let's have a look at how to use the
presenter view a Zoom. So if you want to
teach an online class or present something on Zoom, using the camera present of
view can be really useful. So let me show you how
to set this up now. So again, we need to go to
the presenter view in Canva. We can do this by clicking
present in the top right, and then select and present
a view and present. So again, we have
the two windows, the presenter window,
and the audience window. So what we want to do is just display the audience
window in Zoom. So let me show you
how to do this now. For the sake of
this demonstration, let's just resize this. But if you do have additional
monitors or screens, you could put the
presenter window on one monitor and the
audience window on another. Again, for this example,
let's just resize this, so they're both on
the same screen. So in the presenter window, we can click between
the different slides, and this will update in
the audience window. Okay, let's now go to Zoom. So right now I'm
running a Zoom meeting, and now let's go to Share
screen at the bottom of Zoom. So here we can share a desktop, so we can actually share
our Google Chrome Windows. So you can see down here we have the presenter view and
the audience window. So what we can do
is we can actually share just the audience window, and then we can view the
presentation window. However, we can also share just a segment of the
screen, if you wish. I'll quickly show you
how to do this now. To do this, we
need to go over to the Advance tab and then
select portion of screen. And then press share. So this, we can select what
era we want to share. As I said previously,
we can just share the entire audience window,
which may be simpler. But if you just want to share a certain segment of a
window, you can do this. So for this example, let's drag this over the slide for
the audience window, so you can resize this by clicking and dragging on
the sizes and corners. So we can see here in Zoom. It says you are screen sharing. We can press this error button here to view what we're sharing. So now if I select a different slide in
the presenter window, it'll update on the
audience window. And you can also see this update and Zoom for our screen
sharing preview. And remember, we can stop sharing by pressing
the sop share button. Okay, so there's an overview of the presenter view in camera, and that's so you can
also set up in Zoom. Using the notes in
the presenter view can be really useful

have a look at how to add a flip book
to your presentation. Let's click on Apps on the side here and type in Flip
book in the search. And let's click
on the issue app. And issue allows you to create interactive digital flip books. We can also choose bed, which allows you to embed your flip book into your
website or presentation. However, bed is a paid feature. Let's now click
Connect down here. But we're going to
connect issue with Canva. Let's click on Connect again. And if you don't have
an issue account, you can sign up here. It is free to sign up.
There are these paid plans. But it does have a free
plan that you can use. This one doesn't have
as many features. For example, you can only
publish five documents, whereas the other plans, you get unlimited documents. We can also only add
50 pages per upload, and we have a maximum file
size of 50 megabytes. However, for this example, the free plan should still
be fine, so let's use this. Then you'll need to create
your issue account, so you can add your
first name, last name, e mail address, issue user name, which is your custom URL, and also your password. Then if you agree to
the terms of service, you can check this box here,
and then click, sign up. Then after this, you'll need to confirm your e mail address. Okay, now signed up to issue. We do have this pop
up here for this. I'm going to select education,
and then click next. Let's close this pop up now. And let's click on
Upload in the top left. Now we're going to
add a PDF file. For this example, I have a few pages from my
audio recording book. So let's let this
here and click open. So let's now add this and
turn this into a flip book. Down here on the right,
we can add a title. It also says here
that two links were automatically detected
in your document text. So you can add these
as clickable links by pressing this add
links button here. But for now, I'm just
going to leave this. We can also add a
description down here. But for now, I'm just going to leave this and click Add later. We can choose to
have this live on issue or publish this privately. For this, though, let's
leave this live on issue. And now let's click publish. If you agree to their
terms of service, you can check this box here
and then press publish. You'll also need to
confirm here that you hold the necessary copyrights
for your flip book. You can click on where it says Copyright to find out
more about this, though. But for this example, I'm going to select,
confirm and publish. Okay, a flip book
is now published. Let me just show this
ined function now, so we can click I Bed here. However, this is
a paid function, and you can't use this
with a free plan. You cannot re grade if you wish, but I want to use this
with the free plan. Embed function might
be useful, though, as it will appear
on your website rather than clicking
to the issue site. But as I said, I just want to use a free plan, so
let's not use this. Let's go back over to
the share function here, and what we're going to do is we're going to share this link. So people can click
on this link, then they will send
them over to issue, where they can view
this flip book. This may not be as smooth
as embedding it directly, but we can use it
with a free plan. So I've copied a link, and let's now paste this
into our presentation. So here it is, and
let's just resize this. So now we can click on this and it'll send us over
to our issue page, where we can view our flip book. We can also display a
QR code if you wish. So someone can scan the QR code, and it'll send them over to the issue page where they
can also view the flip book. So let's now download this QR code and add this to
our presentation as well. Let's go back over
to our presentation, and let's click on loads and load files and add this QR code. We just downloaded. Resize these, and I'll quickly show you now how to do this on
the phone camera. So you can scan the QR
code with your camera in the camera application or with
a scan reader application. Then this will display
your issue flipbook link. So let me show you
how to do this now. Once we scan this, you
can see the link appear, and this again, will
go to our flip book. In our flip book, we can tap the left and right arrow
buttons to move between pages. If we make the flip
book full size, we can flick with our finger
to go between the pages. We can also zoom in and out on the flip book by pinching and
dragging with our fingers. Okay, so that's how you can add a flip book to

create stickers for instant messenger
applications such as what SAP and Line. We'll also give you
some best practices for creating stickers in Canva. Okay, so let's get started. In this introduction video, we'll talk about
what stickers are. So a sticker is a
customized graphic that allows you to add personality and humor to a
message conversation. These can help make a conversation
more fun and creative. We can create stickers
for what SAP and line and also for some other
instant messenger apps. Now let's have a look
at some stickers from Facebook Messenger
Line and WhatsApp. Facebook Messenger doesn't allow us to create our own stickers, but it does have
avatar stickers, which allow us to create
our own character, which can help add
personality to chats. Okay, so that's the end of
this introduction video. Next, we'll have a look at how to create stickers and Whatsapp. Thanks watching, and

41. How to Creates Stickers in WhatsApp: Okay, so now let's
talk about Whatsapp. This is instant
messenger service that allows you to
send text messages, voice messages, and
video messages, and make voice and video calls. It's also very popular in
many countries worldwide. Whatsapp can also be used
on a computer or tablet, but it's most commonly
used on a smartphone. WhatsAp does have a
few stickers to use, but currently, I don't think
they have the best designs. However, whatsap does
have a create feature, but this is quite limited. Let's now have a look at how to use stickers and Whatsapp. We can use free stickers by clicking here on the
icon on the right. From here, we have
more free stickers, and you can click to
download these if you like. You can also get free stickers by installing a
sticker application. However, some of these sticker
applications often have issues as sometimes the stickers disappear after a
period of time, and you will need to
download them again. As I said before, you can create your own stickers
inside WhatsApp, but the design possibilities
are quite limited, and there aren't many
MODs for you to use. Let's now have a look
at this example. We can slip create to
make our own sticker. WhatsApp has a function here that allows us to
create stickers, such as this CAP photo. For example, in this design, we've added texts and
emojis to this photo. We can also remove
the background like in this next image, and we can send this sticker
as a message and Whatsapp. However, I don't think it's the best background
removal tool, and as you can see
in this image, we can still see parts
of the background. We can add texts to the sticker, but the fonts are quite basic, and the Emojis are also basic, and it's quite hard
to make unique or creative stickers with
this in my opinion. Also, we can't crop or choose which areas we want to
remove the background from. We also don't have any
image editing tools such as exposure or contrast. Okay, let's now discuss how to create stickers in
another application or website and how to upload them to the
sticker Mau application. This application
stores your stickers, which you can use in Whatsapp, and also iMssage, if
you have an iPhone. With this application, we
can upload our PNG images. Then we can create our own
sticker designs in Canva, and then export
these as PNG images and upload them to the
Sticker Maker application. This gives you more creative
possibilities as Canva has many features that allow us to create fun and
interest in stickers. Let's take a look
at these examples. The first image features two designs that we
created in Canva, the crying cat, and the
Curt Cat sticker design. These were then exported out of Canva as PNG files with
transparent backgrounds. Then the second image here is of the sticker
maker application. This is the application where we will upload all
of our stickers. The next image shows
our crying cat design. In this application,
we can corrupt the image and add
more text if we wish. From our testing, the app is slightly different
in IOS and Android. But in the IOS version, there are a few different fonts and ways to customize the text. But Canva has many more
ways to customize the text. Then the fourth image is of our sticker pack inside the
stick and Mer application. We can add these stickers to WhatsAp by uploading the image, then cropping the image, then saving it as a
new sticker pack, and then selecting
Add to WhatsApp, which will add this
sticker pack to WhatsApp. Then you'll be able to send these stickers to your chats
and Whatsapp if you wish. Okay, so that's
sending this video, we've looked at
how to create your own stickers and Whatsapp. In the next video, we'll look at line stickers and the line

will teach you how to create your own stickers
that you can use in line. So what is line? Line is an instant messenging
application, popular in Thailand,
Japan, and Taiwan. This application offers many different types of
stickers for purchase, and you can also upload
your own stickers to line. People can also
become a line creator and sell their own stickers
on this application. Now let's have a look at some different types
of line stickers. The image on the left displays some regular or normal stickers. The image in the middle shows some stickers that
have movement, and some of these can
also have sound too. Then the images on the right are stickers that you
can put your name on. So how can you use
stickers in line? The images on the
left are examples of free stickers that you
can download in line, but there are conditions
for free stickers. For example, you may need to add a new contact to line before you can download
stickers for free. Also, free stickers
have a time limit, so they cannot be used forever. You may also need to answer questions in exchange
for some free stickers. These are to help brands
improve their products. So just be aware that
the free stickers do have some conditions. Okay, then the image
on the right shows stickers that can be purchased from the line sticker shop? The paid stickers will not have the conditions like
the free stickers, and they'll be yours to use on your line account for
as long as you wish. However, these are not free,
and they do cost money. Next, let's have a
look at how to create stickers with the line
sticker make application. This is available
for Android and IOS. Once you've made your stickers, you can use them in
line, or you can apply to sell them
online if you wish. Let's have a look
at these examples. The first image is
a photo of a cat, and we've chosen a
heart frame for it. The next image has the
background removed. Then in the next image, we've added a purple brush and text. This application, lets
us see a preview of the sticker in a chat as
shown in the next image. We can select the X button if you want to edit
the sticker more, or we can select Save, and then it will go
to this page here, which is the collections page. Okay, so that end of this video, we've looked at

to this video, where we'll look at how to
create stickers in Canva, the Lines creators market. So we can also
create stickers and other applications
such as Canva, and then upload them to
the Line creators market. The image on the left is of stickers that we
created in Canva. Then we have the
image on the right, which is the Line
creators market. This is a website where people can upload stickers
that they've created. Let's now have a look at some
reasons to create stickers. Stickers allow you to
communicate with more emotion and can be a fun
and creative way to express your feelings. People will search for stickers to express their feelings, but they may not be able to find the exact sticker
they want to use. You can create and sell stickers
that might be useful for people to express their emotions in messaging conversations. For example, this sticker
collection called crazy Little Monkey displays different emotions and feelings, which are shock, missing
someone, hunger, and anger. So there are a lot of
different types of emotions that can be expressed
in the sticker collection, that's also fun and cute as it has graphics of
a little monkey. Some people also
create stickers with their faces or pets to make
their stickers unique, and these can be fun and interesting to
send the messages. Also, you don't have to
sell your stickers in line. You can choose to keep your stickers private
and not sell them, so only you have access to them. For example, these
are private stickers. These can be used in messages to show anger or show
that you're sorry. We also made this cat
sticker that says hello, this pig sticker that
says good morning, and we also have this
sad cat sticker. Okay, let's now talk about the different steps involved
in making stickers. So you may have these questions before you make
your first sticker. These questions are, how
can I create stickers? Which tools can help
me create stickers? How can I design stickers fast? And the answer to all of
these questions is CVA. CMVA allows you to create great looking sticker
designs quickly. Okay, let's now go
over the first step, which is to find the sticker
for each application. In this example, we can see lines requirements for images. This guide allows you
to prepare your images, so they're at the best size. Let's have a look at
these images now. The main image is
this image here. The sticker images are the
actual stickers themselves. Then the chat thumbnail icon is the icon that's shown
in the sticker tab, so the image where you select your different
sticker collections. The next step is to decide what type of sticker
you want to design. For example, this could
be a cartoon animal, a person's face, or
an animal's face. Then you want to think
about how many stickers you want to design
for your collection. For example, you
could have eight, 16, 24, 32, or 40 stickers. The next step is to list all the characters you want to create for your collection. Let's just have a look at this graphic of this
notebook on the right. So you can have a
character for hello. Thanks, Wow, sad,
hungry, miss you. Good night, by, no, okay, angry, and busy. If you want to create
the stickers to sell, then I recommend that you
keep the same character to keep the collection
thematic and consistent. Let's have a look at
this collection here. All characters are
the same monkey. They will have the same
free tufts of hair, the same markings
across the stomach, and the same hair
color and skin tone. If you use a mixture of
different faces and animals, your collection will look
messy and may confuse people and can make them not purchase your
sticker collection. The next step is to create
your sticker size in Canva. In Canva, you can create your own custom size
for your design. The next step is to
think about copyright. To avoid this problem,
or recommend using images where you know you're
100% allowed to use them. For example, in Canva, you have access to many
different copyright free images. So don't just save images from Google images without checking
for their permission. Make sure you can use images before you add them
to your design. The next step is to
export your image as a PNG with a
transparent background. In Canva, we can export with
a transparent background. So when you export, make sure you select transparent
background. However, this is only for the pay version of
Canva Canva Pro. There are other sites
such as removed BG that you can use to remove backgrounds from
images for free. So once you do this, you'll have a PNG image that has a
transparent background. The last step is to upload your stickers to the
line creators market. Attach this video is a resource
that includes a link to Lines Help Center with details about submitting a
sticker for review. I recommend checking
this out if you want more information about
submitting your sticker set. Okay, so that's the

sticker from this. Okay, so let's get started. So in Camber, we're going
to create a custom size. We're going to choose 370
pixels by 320 pixels, which is the size we need
to create stickers in line. So let's click on
create new Design. And now we have
our blank design. I'm just going to click
up here to rename this. Now let's click on loads
and upload that image. I did get this image
from f pick.com. However, you can
add your own image, for example, an
image of your pet. Let's upload this image now. Let's add this to our design. Okay, let's just resize this. Let's now remove the background, by clicking on dit image,
background remover. As I said, if you're
not using Camera Pro, the website such
as remove dot Bg, which will remove your
background for free. Okay, let's now
add some elements. This design is going
to be called SadCat, so I'm going to make it
look like the cat's crying. So I'm going to type in Tire. And now under graphics, I'm going to select C all. We have this one
here, which will make the cat look
like it's crying. So let's choose this
one. Let's rotate this and place this
in the correct place. Okay, let's now add
another element. Let's type in comic for this. As I do want to add some
comic style graphics to make this seem a bit
more fun and playful. Let's choose this one here, and let's just resize this. And of course, it is
in front of the cat, so we'll need to re click on
this and then go to layer, and then go to Center B. And now it's behind the cat. Let's just resize

45. Let's Create Hello Cat Sticker from a Pet Photo: So now let's have
a look at how to create another animal
sticker in Cava. So this video might be
useful if you have a pet, and you want to create a
sticker from a photo of them. Okay, let's get started. So with Canva here, we
have a blank presentation, and let's go over to uploads
and upload that image. This image is from
free pick.com, but you can upload your
own image if you wish. Let's just crop this, let's
remove the background by clicking on edit image
and background removal. Now let's resize this image, and let's actually add a filter to change the colors
for this image. Let's click on edit image and go down to the filters here. Let's choose this one, but I think the intensity
is a bit too much. So let's reduce the intensity. Okay, let's now add an
element to this design. For this, I want to
add the textbox, so it looks like the cat
is saying something. So here we can add a textbox. But I actually want to
choose another text box. Let's choose this one here.
Let's reposition this. So looks like the cat
is saying something. Let's now change the colors. Let's choose this yellow color, and a dark brown for
the second color. Let's now add some text. So let's click on text
and select add a heading. Let's type in hello. Let's
now change the font. I'm going to click
on the search bar. So let's choose a
handwriting style font as this looks a bit more
informal and friendly. Let's choose this one, and
let's reposition the text. Let's now add an
effect to the text. So let's click on
effect up here, and let's choose
a shadow effect. Let's change the
shadow color to white, so it stands out a bit more and let's adjust the offset
and transparency, so we can see the
shadow a bit clearer. Let's just rotate this now, so it matches with the
graphic behind it. And let's just adjust
both of these now. As the graphic is
covering the cat, let's make the cat go in
front of the graphic. Let's right click on this image, go to layer, and
then bring to front. Okay, let's just
resize this slightly. Okay, now I'm going to add some more graphics to
make it a bit more fun. L et's type and bling, and
let's choose this one here. We also have some
magic recommendations. So let's select Sal and
have a look at these. Before we add another one, let's resize the one we just added. I'm also going to flip this
horizontally and rotate this. Let's also change the colors. Okay, I'm going to
add another one now. Let's choose this. I don't think this
is quite suitable, so let's try another one. Let's just resize
and rotate this. Okay, I think this works now, and that's how can quickly make a sticker in camera

46. Let's Create Morning Pig Sticker by using Pet Photo: Case, and now let's
have a look at how to create another sticker from
a picture of an animal. Let's now upload a
photograph that we have. And again, you can apply what we teach you to your
own photographs. Here we have a picture of a pig, and this image is
from freepik.com. Again, let's crop this, and let's edit the image and
remove the background. Let's just resize this.
And let's add elements. As the pig was leaning on
something in the photograph, let's have it lean
on something again, where it might look
a bit unnatural. For this, let's have
it lean on the sign. So in the elements,
let's type in sign. This graphic here looks fine, so let's select this, but we do want to have
this behind the pig. Let's right click on this and
go to Layer, sent to back. And now let's reposition
these images, so it looks like the pig
is leaning on the sign. Now let's add some
text to the sign. So let's click on text, and then click on Add a Heading. For this, let's type in morning. Again, let's change this to a handwritten font as it
looks a bit more friendly. Let's now add the
effect to this text, to make it a bit
more interesting and to make it stand
out a bit more. So let's click on effects, and let's use this
shadow effect. Let's now change the text color, and let's choose
this yellow color. Let's go back to the text
effect and edit this. So let's increase
the transparency, so we can see this
a bit clearer, and let's also
adjust the offset. And the direction
of the text shadow. I'm just going to
choose another color now just to see the difference. However, I do quite
like this yellow color, but I'm going to choose my
own custom color up here. I also want to add a
filter to the sin graphic. Let's click on this image and
then go up to addit image. And here we can choose
filter to adjust the colors. Okay, I think that looks
a bit more suitable now. Okay, let's now add
some elements to this design to make it
a bit more interesting. As this sticker is to say
good morning to someone, let's add a sun graphic. So under elements, let's type in sun and choose one
of these graphics. This one looks quite fun,
so let's choose this. Let's just resize this and
put this in the top left. Let's add another graphic
now, Let's type in cloud. Let's add this cloud image now. Let's duplicate
this a few times, and let's resize these. Let's just rotate and flip
this cloud horizontally. Let's just change
the cloud color now. As I don't think
black's very suitable. If we choose this white color, the clouds will still be there. As when we export this, we'll export this as a PNG image with a transparent background. However, I'm going
to add my own color, let's choose a light blue color. Just be aware if
you're going to use these stickers in a
line application, the standard color
for chats is blue. So if you have any blue
color in your design, then it may get lost
in the chat screen. Let's actually change
these clouds to a slightly lighter light blue to make the design
seem a bit brighter. Let's add in another element, so let's now choose
some flower graphics. I prefer this design here, so let's delete this
one and use this instead and flip this horizontally to balance
out the design. Let's add another flower graphic and put this in the bottom left. Let's now duplicate this
and put this in the bottom right and flip this again
to balance out the design. Let's just change the
color of these flowers to add a bit of variation
to these designs. Okay, now at the
end of this video, where we made another sticker design from a photograph

to look at how to create a sticker
from a photograph, which could be a photograph of yourself or someone
that you know. So here we have a blank design, and let's now upload image. So let's click on
uploads and low files. Here I have an image
from freepik.com, but you can upload your
own image if you wish. You can use the skills we teach you and apply them
to your own image. So let's now add this
image to our design. Let's just crop this, and let's actually remove
the background. So let's click on edit image and then select
background remover. Let's just make
this a bit bigger, and you can see that it hasn't actually removed the
background perfectly. We can still see some of the
background around the hair. So under edit image, we can click on background mover again, and then we can manually
erase the background. Let's just make the brush
size a bit smaller, and let's just manually remove the background,
which is around the hair. Okay, I think that's
a bit better now. Now let's click back
and add an element. So under elements,
let's type in Angry. And under graphics,
let's select see all. You can use your sticker to
display any image you wish. But for this example, let's have the sticker display anger. Let's just resize this. And
now let's type in fire. So I'm going to have a fire
graphic behind the person. So we need to right
click on this and then go to layer, and
then go sender back. And now let's increase the size. However, let's use
another graphic and we have this one here under
magic recommendations, which I like more.
Let's let this. Again, we want this
behind the person, so let's right click on this and go to Layer, sender back. Again, let's resize
this to make it bigger. And for this, let's
flip this horizontally. Let's just reposition
these elements now. I'm just going to
change this color so it's a different
color from the fire, so it doesn't get
lost in the design. I'm going to add
another element now. I want to add a question mark. This one here is fine. Let's
have one on each side. By clicking on this image and pressing the
duplicate button. Let's now move this to the left and resize and reposition this. Okay, so that's the

image and resize it, and then remove the background. We can do this by clicking on edit image and then go

resize this again, and let's position
this to the left. Now let's add an element, so let's click on elements, and let's add a textbox. Let's now add a speech bubble, so it looks like the person
is saying something. Let's choose this one, and
let's flip this horizontally. Let's not add some text to
add to the speech bubble. Let's click on text and
select add a heading. Now I'm going to type
in the word, sorry. So we can use the sticker to
display a certain emotion. Let's just change the font to
something more handwritten, so it looks more personal. Okay, so now let's add
the effect to the text, so it stands out a bit more. So let's click on effects
and choose a shallow effect. But for now, let's
adjust the offset. Let's also adjust
the transparency, so we can see the
shadow a bit more. Let's choose white
for the shadow. Let's also change the color
for the speech bubble. Let's change it
to a green color. However, I don't think this
color is quite suitable, so let's choos our
own custom color. Okay, I think that
looks better now. Let's go back to the
text effects and increase the transparency

and rotate this. Let's rotate and resize
this one as well. Let's actually duplicate this a few more times to fill in the space in
the bottom right. Okay, let's just resize and move this around, to
fill in the space. Again, let's add one more and let's flip this
horizontally this time, so it looks a bit different. Okay, so there you go, so

49. How to Create Your own Sticker: There and welcome to this video, where we're going to show you how to create your own sticker. So we're actually going to take inspiration from an image. So I've actually found some
images on three pick.com, and we're going to
create our own sticker based on these two images. So let's upload these
now to camera by going to uploads and
then upload files, and selecting these two images. So it's this image
here of a cat. And another one of a pig. Let's crop this pig image now and put it on
the head of the cat. Let's resize this image. And I'm actually going to remove the background for
this pig image by clicking on edit image and then go to
background removal. Remember, if you're
not using Camera Pro, there are other websites you can use to remove
backgrounds for free, such as remove BG. Okay, now we have the
background removed this image. Let's just rotate this and put this in approximately
the right place. L et's now crop some
of this cat image, and let's now click
and drag over both of these images
and make them larger. Okay, now I'm going to
switch over to the iPad. You can do this on
the desktop as well, but I do think using
the pencil on the iPad can be a lot quicker and more efficient for drawing images. Okay, let's now download
this image from Canva, and we're going to
open it on the iPad. The application I'm
going to use on the iPad is called Good notes. This lets me draw
with my Apple pencil. So let's open the Good
notes application, and then tap on you. And then I'm going
to choose notebook. Now let's tap on size, and let's choose A four. And now let's change this to
landscape. Let's tap create. Now let's tap on the image icon and add an image
from Canva here. Let's just resize this so we
can see this a bit clearer. Now with a pen tool
in good notes, Let's use our apple pencil and draw around the
outline of this image. Let's go around the head. To make this image unique, I'm going to change the ears. Let's draw in a new shape now. Let's draw around the
stomach and the arms. And now let's draw around
the legs and feet. And draw around the stomach, and I'm going to add a new
marking for the stomach. Let's now add an inside
part for the ears, and I'm going to change the
tail to a curly pigs tail. Let's zoom in a bit more now, and let's draw
around the nose and mouth and also the tongue. Let's draw around the eyes, and let's change the shape
of these as well. Let's make them a bit smaller. Let's add some eyelashes. Let's now change the
thickness of the pen, and let's choose a pink color. Now I'm going to fill in the
color for the pig's face. I have spread this video up, but if you're following along, I recommend taking your time, so you fill in your
image correctly. Let's also use
this pink color to fill in the arms and
legs for this design. Okay, let's now choose
a different color, Let's choose a red
color for the nose. Let's zoom in even more and
choose a thinner line amount, and let's fill in the tong,
this red color as well. Let's now change the color to a white color, and let's
fill in the mouth. Let's zoom out and let's change the color to
our pink white color, and let's fill in the
belly with this color. Let's zoom out so we can
see the whole image. Okay, let's now view
our original image. So we can do this by pressing
this image does not appear, and this shows our
original image. As you can see, it's
quite different now. Okay, let's now remove
our original image. I'm going to select cut though, just in case you want to
paste in again later on. Okay, let's actually make
our image a bit neater now, and with the apple pencil, let's draw around
the outline again. Let's zoom in. So we're going to draw around this image
with a black color. So let's draw around the head. Let's make the
eyes a bit neater. Now let's fill in the nostrils
and draw around the nose. Let's also draw around the mouth and then draw
around the hands and arms, and also the stomach
and the legs. Let's draw around the arm
as well and the other leg. Let's now select this pink color again and fill in any
of these white gaps. And also, we can see these
white gaps around the mouth. Let's fill this in here as well. Let's swap to this
black color and draw some eyelashes in the gain, and also draw in in the ears. Let's also add the mark
in to the stomach again. Let's now swap to the
highlight tool and add some shadows around the image to make it look a bit
more free dimensional. Let's draw it around the
outline of the image now. And you can see now it's
starting to look a lot better. Let's choose a gray color now. Let's also add highlights
around the stomach. And add highlights
around the eyes, to make it look like a shadow. Let's also do the same for the nose and the mouth as well. Now let's change this
back over to the pen, and I'm going to add
some lines on the cheek. Now let's go to the
highlight tool and add the highlights to these lines on the cheek to make them
look like shadows. Let's now swap back to
this pink color and add the highlights for
the inner ears to make these look like
shadows as well. Let's now export this
image out of good notes, and let's go back to Canva. So we're using the same Canvas size as before for the sticker, and let's now upload this
image we just made into Canva. So let's click on uploads
and then upload files, and let's select
this image here. Okay, let's just crop this, and let's remove
the background by clicking edit image and
background remover. Let's now add some elements to make this sticker a
bit more exciting. So let's click on elements. And let's type in balloon. Let's choose one of
these balloons now. Actually, I like the color
of this one a bit more as it matches the pig better.
So let's choose this one. Okay, let's just resize this. Let's actually crop the bottom. Let's add some text now. So I'm going to click
on Add a Heading. And let's change the font now, and let's choose this
handwriting style font here. This handwritten font
looks a bit more personal. Let's just resize this
image and the text now. Let's add effect to the text. So let's click on effects, and let's choose
this shallow effect. Now let's change the
shadow color to white, and let's adjust the offset and increase the transparency, so we can see this
a bit clearer. Let's also adjust the direction. Let's now add another element. This time, let's type in ribbon. Let's choose this one here. And now let's add this
ribbon to the balloon. We can also add another
ribbon if we want. Just for this example, let's add a bow tie to
the pig as well. Let's just resize
and rotate this. I'm also going to add a filter to this to change the color. Let's click on dit
Image and choose one of these filters
by selecting CO. However, for this sticker, I don't want to have a bow
tie, so let's delete this. Okay, let's add
some more elements, so let's click on elements, and now let's type in Hart. Let's add some of
these heart graphics. Let's change the color
of these graphics. As I do think, we
have too much of this light pink color
now in the sticker. Let's change it to a
darker pink or red. Let's now type in flowers, and let's click on C and
choose some of these. Let's duplicate this by
pressing the dupicate button, and let's actually flip
this horizontally by clicking on flip up here and
selecting flip horizontally. Now with this graphic
flipped horizontally, the image looks more balanced. Let's just resize and rotate
these flower graphics now. And let's just select all of this now and put it
more in the center. Okay, so there you go, so that's how you can
create your own sticker. So we created this from
inspiration from other designs, but we still made
that design unique. So we're now at the
end of this video, I hope you found it useful and I'll see

50. How to Create a Sticker by Using Elements in Canva: Okay, so now let's create a sticker by using
elements in Canva. So for this, I want to
create a cute pig sticker. So let's go over to elements, and let's now type in pig. No graphics, let's select SL. A lot of these are suitable. I'm going to choose
this one here. Let's now resize this
to make it larger. Now let's add a circle to
go behind this pig graphic. So in the elements search, I'm going to type
in circle green. And let's choose this one here. Okay, let's now right click on the circle graphic
and then go to layer, and then go to center back as we want to have this
behind the pig graphic. Okay, let's just resize this, and now I'm going to
add another element. This time, let's find
a smile graphic. So let's type in smile. And here we actually
have this text that says Smile
with a smiley face. I think this works
well with the design, so let's choose this.
Let's now resize this. However, let's change
the color for this. With this design, we can
choose five different colors. So let's now change
some of these. So we do have the
photo colors here, but I'm not going to choose
any of these green colors or will get lost in this
green circle behind. Of course, we need to change this green color up here as we really can't see the letter E. Let's change it
to another color, which you can see a lot
clearer. This one here's fine. Okay, so that's how
you can create sticker inside Cava using just
the Canva elements. As you can see,
you can still make great designs just inside Cava. So I hope you find this view useful, and I'll
see the next one.
51. The Magic Edit Tool: Okay, so now let's have a
look at the Magic edit tool, which allows you
to modify images. So here I have a photograph of a person that are found
under the elements, and let's now click
on this image, and then go to edit image. And now you can see here in the Magic Studio section,
we have Magic edit. So let's click on this. So we have these areas here.
We have brush or click. If we select brush, then we can click and drag over an area. Let's just click Clear
for now, though, and if we select click, then we can click over the
area that we'd like to select. Let's just click
Clear again, though. For this, I want to
change the hair, so let's select brush, and I'm going to click
and drag over the hair. Like so. Now we can
describe our edit. For this, I'm going to
type in clown hair, and now let's press generate. It may take a moment
or two to load. Also as AI improves, this may be faster to load, and you may get better images
than what we see here. However, we can click through all of these to see
the different ones. I think this one's the best one, though, so let's press done. Now let's click
Magic edit again, and this time, let's
give them a bed. So let's put the brush
size a lot smaller. And let's click and drag
over the beard area. Now I'm going to type in beard. Again, this may take a
few moments to load. Let's have a look at
these different ones now. Some of these are
quite realistic, but I think the first or the second one are most suitable. However, we can click
on Generate again, and this will give us some more. Again, let's have
a look at these. Again, I think the first
one is the best one. Okay, let's press done, and now I'm actually going
to change their shirt. Let's click on Magic Edit again. This time, let's make
the brush size a larger, and let's click and drag
over the shirt area. Now I'm going to type in
redshirt and hit generate. Okay, let's have a
look at some of these. That one is a bit strange, so I'm not going to choose that. This one here looks quite good though, so let's choose this. You can see that the shoulders
aren't too realistic, so this AI technology
isn't perfect, but hopefully in the
future, it will improve. Let's actually click
on Add page and let's go back to recently used and then add the image
we had before, and we can see the
difference between the two. So you can see
here we can easily modify images with
this magic edit tool. Okay, let's have a look
at another example. So I'm going to add
another image here. So now I find an image of
a cat looking at a mouse. And I want to change
this computer mouse into a mouse, so
an actual animal. So again, let's click on the image and then
go to edit image, and then go to Magic edit. This example, let's select
brush and then click and drag over this mouse,
to cover the area. Okay, now let's type in
mouse, and then hit generate. Okay, let's have a
look at some of these. Some of them aren't quite right. Here again, we have
a computer mouse. And this one here looks
quite good. Let's use this. Again, if we add a new page and then add the
recently used photo, we can see the difference
between the two. Okay, so that's how you can use a Magic edit tool

52. The Magic Eraser Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look
at the Magic arrays tool. Here we have this
image of this cat, looking at this computer mouse. For this image, though, I want to remove this computer mouse. So let's have a
look at this now. Let's select this image
and then go to edit image, and now let's go
to Magic eraser. So we can select
brush and click and drag over the area
we want to erase, or we can select click and then just click what
we want to erase. For this, let's select click. So we've selected the
mouse and the cable here. Now let's click on ase. Just be aware you may have to do this a few times to remove it. Also depending on the image, it may or may not
look appropriate. You can see here we've
removed the mouse, but we still have the shadow
and this black down here. So let's now click on Brush, and let's manually
drag over this. Okay. And now let's
click Ras again. It's not perfect, so let's click and drug over this again, and then hopefully,
it should be fine. Okay, there you go.
That's pretty good, and that's how you

look at the Magic Grab tool. So let's click on an image of this cat looking at this mouse, and then go to Edit image, and then go to Magic Grab. So Magic Grab allows
you to select elements in your design so
you can move them around. So let's select click and then select this cat, and
then press grab. Okay, so as you can see here,
we can move this cat a. Let's move this
over to the right. And now let's actually
duplicate this image. Let's right click on this
and then go to duplicate. And now we have
this here as well. For this example,
let's flip the image, Let's flip this horizontally, and let's move this into
the right position. Let's also rotate this a little bit. And then move this down. So now we have these two cats by using the Magic grab tool. Okay, so there's

54. How to Create Mockups: Okay, so now let's have a look at the mock up feature in Canva. This might be useful if you
want to have your design or photograph on a cup
or t shirt, for example. Let me show you how
to do this now. So here we have this
photograph of a dog, and let's actually turn this
into a mockup for a cup. So let's select this
image and then go to edit image and let's scroll down
to where it says mock ups. So you can see we have
these popular ones here, and we can click on Cal. So we have loads of
different types, and these are just
the popular ones. But for this, let's choos
this cup in the top left. Then we can crop the area here. Let's crop out some
of the background, and then here, apply changes. Now we can see what this dog
will look like on a cup. Let's try one. Here have
an image of a rabbit. Let's now click on this image
and then go to edit image. And again, let's go to mockups. Now let's click on computers. There's loads of different
ones we can choose here. But for this example, let's
choose this computer. We also have this
smart crop feature here, so Let's press this. It's not always perfect as we're cutting out our legs here. Let's do this
ourselves manually. Now let's click
on apply changes. Here we can see what the rabbit looks like
on the computer. Let's do another example. Let's now put this
cat on the calendar. Let's say you have a
photograph at a pet and you want to see what this
looks like on the calendar. You can do this with
a mock up feature. So again, let's
click on a photo, go to edit image, and
then go down to Mockups. The calendar is in the
print section here, so let's click on CL. Again, there's lots of
different ones we can try. But for this example, let's
select this calendar here. Again, let's crop
this, but this time, let's actually flip
this horizontally. And now let's hit apply changes. Okay, there we go. Okay,
let's do one more. Let's actually make a
video mock up this time. So have this picture of a duck. Again, let's click on the image, edit image, and then
go down to mock ups. So we also have video
mockups as well. This will still be an image, but behind it will be a video. Let's choose this one here of
this person holding a card. The video mock ups may take a moment or two to load though. Okay, let's just make this a bit bigger and play this back to
see what this looks like. Okay, great. So we can create lots of different
types of mock ups. So this might be useful if you want to create a cup, calendar, or see what your images or designs look like with
different mock ups. That's s ended this

55. The Auto Focus Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look at the autofocus tool in Canva. So this allows us to put
certain elements out of focus. This allows you to make the
image look a bit more free dimensional or to make it
look a bit more cinematic. Let me show you now. So we have this picture of this cat
looking at this computer mouse. And for this example, let's put the computer
mouse out of focus. So that way, our
attention will be drawn to the cat and less to
the computer mouse. So let's click on the image
and then go to edit image. And we can find auto focus in
the effects area down here. Let's click on this right
arrow button, and here it is. With this bottom slider here, we can choose the
focus position. For example, you can see here, the cat is now out of focus, and the mouse is in focus, which draws our
attention to the mouse. For this though, we want
to have the cat in focus. So let's move this
position slider until this purple
color is on the cat, which will be the area in focus. And we can change the blow intensity
with this top slider. That's a bit too out of focus, Let's move it to something a bit more realistic. Around here. You can see the difference
when I move the slider. Okay, let's have a look
at another example. We have these people here
standing in front of a house. To make this image look
a bit more cinematic, I want to have the house in the background blurred slightly. Let's click on the
photo, go to edit image, and then go down to
the effects area here and find auto focus. By default, it seems to
select these people here. So if you move the
position to the house, the people will be out of focus, and this doesn't
look very natural. Let's move this, so
the people are in focus and the house
is out of focus. Again, we can choose
blur intensity with this top slider. That
is a bit too much. Let's move it to around here. This now looks a
bit more cinematic with the background
blow out slightly. Okay, so that's how you

56. Face Retouch: Okay, so now let's have a look at the face retouch
tool and Canva. This allows you to
smooth in at the face. Let me show you how
to do this now. So we have this photograph
of these faces here, and let's click on this image
and then go to edit image. We can find this again in the
effect section down here. And here it is face retouch. So we can smooth in the
skin with a slider here. So you can see here we have some of the marks on the face, and when we increase this,
they disappear slightly. Okay, let's have a look
at another example now. So if this tool, we can
clear the skin up slightly. Let's click on this image
and then go to edit image. And now under effects, let's find face retouch. So you can see here, we clear up the skin slightly when
we move it to the right. This won't fix everything, but it should make the skin
look a bit more smooth. Okay, so let's send this video, thanks watching, and

57. The Blur Tool: Okay, and now let's have a look at the blur
tool in Canva. This might be useful
if you need to blur people's faces
out in your photo. Let me show you how
to do this now. So we have this photograph here. Let's now select this photograph
and go to edit image, and then go down to the effects
area here and find Blur. We can blur the whole image, which is not what
we want to do here, or we can select brush here. So let's choose the
Adler type here. We can choose the brush
size with the slider here. And then we can
choose the intensity. If you just want
to blur slightly, I recommend having
this set quite low. Let's decrease the
intensity to around ten. So now the faces should
be unrecognizable, but it won't ruin the image. If we have the blur
intensity too high, then the image may
look a bit strange. So we need to click
and drag over the faces like
this to blur them. Let's keep these two and focus, and let's blur the rest.
Okay, there you go. So now we shouldn't be able
to recognize these people, but it's not too obvious that
it ruins the photograph. So thanks watching

58. The Magic Expand Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look
at the Magic Expand tool. So this allows us to
expand that image. So here I have this
photograph here. And let's actually
expand this now. So we can do this by clicking
on our image and then go to edit image and then
go to Magic Expand. So we have a few
different options here. We have free form, whole
page, and one to one. For this, let's use free form, and let's actually
drag this down here. So hopefully, this will make
the shirt a bit longer, and we'll also expand
the yellow background. So let's click on Magic Expand
now to see our results. Just be aware this may take
a few moments to process. Okay, let's have a look
at what we've got now. So you can see here the shirt is not perfect, but
it's quite good. Let's look at the next one.
Again, it's not perfect. And this one as well,
and the fourth one. This is probably the
best one in my opinion. But the background here,
this looks really good. Let's just cancel
this. And this time, let's just expand the sides. So again, let's go on edit
image and go to Magic Expand. We use free form again, and as I said, we'll
just expand the sides. Okay. Let's now click,
Magic Expand again. Things like this
check shirt here can be quite
difficult to expand. But for backgrounds like
this yellow background here, it should do a good job. Let's have a look at this now. As you can see, it's
done a really good job. And all of them, apart
from the fourth one here, have done a good job. Let's now look at
another example. So here we have this landscape. And again, let's click on this
and then go to edit image, and then go to Magic Expand. For this, let's do
the whole page, so it should expand to
the left and right here. So let's click Magic Expand. So there is quite a lot of different colors and things
going on in this image. Let's see what it can do. Okay, let's have a look at this. This first one is really good. Can see that it's
not quite perfect, but it is very good.
Let's see the next one. Can see the shadow there
is a bit too dark. The third and fourth one, again, it's a little darker
on the sides, but it has done a very good job. And let's now have a
look at another example. This is our concert, and we have all these different
people in the audience, and these different
colors on the side here. So let's see if it
can handle this. Again, let's go to edit image
and go to Magic Expand. It does say down here
images where faces, hands or transparent backgrounds may not work well
when expanding. So we do have some hands here, so let's see if it
can handle this. Let's select whole page where we just be expanding on
the left and right for this example. Okay,
that's pretty good. We do have this vignette
effect on the side. Let's have a look
at the other ones. That was not bad apart from this gray on the side
here. Third one. Again, that was pretty good, but we do have this
line on the right here. And the fourth one. Okay, I
think that was pretty good. Has done a good job.
And to be honest, if I saw this image,
I probably wouldn't be able to tell this
was expanded with AI. Let's have a look at
one more example. Let's see if it can handle this. This could be quite
difficult because we have the tree
and these leaves. But let's see what it can do. So let's click on the image, go to edit image, and
magic expand once again. We do have this one to
one option as well. Which will expand the square. But for this, let's
choose whole page again. So let's select whole page
and then select Magic expand. This tool will probably
improve in the future, but this is what we've got here. This first one is
not bad, it's okay. The second one actually
is pretty good. The third one is
quite good as well. And the fourth one is good. We do have this tree
on the side here, which may or may
not be suitable. Okay, so going for all of these, I think it's done
a pretty good job. As I said, it's not
perfect right now, but it does do quite a good job. So if you have a simple image
and you want to expand it, you can use this tool, which
soul hopefully be suitable. So thanks for watching

59. The Grab Text Tool: Okay, so now let's have a
look at the grab text tool. This allows you to grab and
change the font of the text. So here we have this design that has this text
in this image. So we cannot click
or drag this text. It will just move
the whole image. However, let me show you how
to use a grab text tool now. So we need to select the image
and then go to edit image. And here we can
select grab text. So we can click to select
the text we want to grab, or we can select all text. So for this example,
let's select all text. And now let's click grab. This may take a few
moments to process, and here we can grab,
move our text around. So we don't have
the original text. It has changed it
to another font. Let's just click
off this text box. So we can change
these separately. Let's now double click
on this text here and go up here to the
font to change the font. Let's chose another one.
Let's choose this one here. And let's just move this around. And the other text box up here, let's move this down here. Let's now double click on
this to select this text, and let's choose another font. Let's choose this, and
let's change the size. Okay, so, that's
how you can quickly use a grab text

60. The Blend Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look at the blend
tool in Canva. So this allows us to blend or combine photographs together. And here have these
two photographs. So what we want to
do is blend these together and put this
bear on this desk. Before we do this, though, let's just click and resize this bear, to something a bit
more suitable. So think around there. And now what we need to do is select both of the photographs. So we can do this
by selecting one of the photographs and then holding down shift and
selecting another one. Now let's go over to edit image, and here we can see blend. And you can see here, it says, start by selecting two images. Place one image on
top of another in the size and position,
you want them merged. So that's what we did
with the bear here, and now let's select
blend images. And this may take a few
moments to process. So let's have a look
at some of these now. So not perfect, but I think
this one is most suitable. Hopefully in the future, many of these tools in
Canva will improve, but for now, I think it's okay. Let's have a look
at another example. So for this example, I want to put this plant
on this desk here. So let's now click to
resize this plant. And let's have it around
this size and this position. Let's now hold down
shift and select the other photo and
then go to edit image. Now let's select blend. And again, let's
select blend images. So this should cut
out the background of this plant and change it, so it blends these
photographs together. Okay, let's have a look
at the other ones. And I think the first one or the fourth one is most suitable. Let's choose the
fourth one as I think the colors match these
plants behind a bit better. So I do recommend
experimenting with this tool. But as I said, it's not perfect, but hopefully this tool
will get better over time. Okay, so there's the blend tool, thanks for watching, and I'll

61. The Duotone Tool: Case, and now let's
have a look at uo Tone. This allows us to add a two
tone look to our image. This might be good for an
artistic image, for example. Let me show you how
to do this now. Here I have this photograph. Let's click on this now, and then go and edit image. And we can see in
the effects area down here, we have uo Tone. So here we have lots of
different presets we can use. Or we can actually
create our own. Here we have highlights,
shadows, and intensity. For this example, let's change the highlights
to a red color. As we can see it's getting lost because we have the
shadows similar color. Let's change the shadows
to a black color. So something like this,
looks pretty cool. I do think the intensity
is a bit too much, so let's just decrease
this to around here. So previously it was like this. And you can see, we've
changed it quite a lot. Let's just change the
highlights to another color. Let's choose more
of a blue color. So I think something
like this can be interesting for an
artistic image. Let's have a look at
another image here. Let's actually add this uo tone effect to
this photograph. Let's select the photograph, then go to edit image, and then go to uo Tone here. Again, we have lots
of great presets. But let's actually
create our own. For this example, let's change the highlights to more
of the yellow color. Let's choose a round here, and we can change the
shadows color as well. We can also use this eye dropper tool and
pick our own color. Let's actually choose a color
from one of these presets. I think this looks
quite interesting, but the intensity
is a bit too high. Let's just decrease
this slightly. Let's have a lock up
one more example. So again, let's the
image go to edit image, and then go to uo Tone. L et's select this dust preset and let's just adjust
this slightly. So we can get some quite
interesting combinations. Think this is a bit too extreme
for what I want though. So something like
this is quite cool. Let's make this color a
bit darker to around here. And again, let's drop
the intensity slightly. So this one, we have a
bit of a vintage feel. Originally, it was like this,
we're very bright colors, and with this duotone,
we've made it seem a bit more
older vintage style. Okay, so that's the
duotone effect, which allows you
to get a two tone. Thanks watching this video,

62. The Image Upscaler Tool: Okay, so now let's have a
look at image up scalar. So this uses AI to upscale
and refine your images. So here we have this older
black and white photograph, and let's try and upscale this. So let's select this image
and then go to edit image. Now in the app section, let's select image up scalar. So down here, we can
upscale the amount. But you can see here we can
only upscale by two times. That's because it
says here our image is already high resolution. So for this, we have to
leave it on two times. But if it's a really
old grainy image, you may have more options here. And now let's select
upscale image, and this process may
take a few moments. So we can see here
the before and after, and let's now press replace. Okay, let's just zoom
in on the face here, and let's just press
the back button, so we can see the difference. Before it was like this,
you can see it's quite grainy and after a lot smoother. Let's go to the TV area here. Before it was like this,
quite grainy. And then after. Let's have a look at
another part of the image. Let's see the TV stand here, before it was quite
grainy and again after. So that's image scaler, and it's a quick way
to upscale the image. Thanks watching this

63. The Colorize Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look at the colorized
featuring camva, which allows us to add
vibrant colors to old photos. So here we have this
black and white photo, which we looked at in
the previous video. And now let's actually add some color to this with
the colorized tool. So let's select this image
and go to edit image. Now in the app section here, we have colorize, so
let's select this. So here it says, load a black and white
or gray scale image or select one in your
design to colorize. So we have one selected here, but you can upload
your own image. So for this, let's select
colorize and replace. This may take a few moments. Okay, let's just
zoom in on this. You can see it's not perfect,
but it is quite good. Let's now have a look
at another example. So here we have this
old gray scale photo. Let's click on this now
and go on edit image. Now let's go down to
where it says Colorize, and then click on
Colorize and replace. This would be nice if we could select some of the
colors ourselves. But for now, this
is what we have. Let's have a look at
one more example, so let's select this and go
to colorize and replace. Again, it's not perfect,
but it is pretty cool. We can quickly add color to black and white or old photos. Okay, so that is

64. The Pixlify Tool: Okay, so now let's have a look at the Pixla phi tool in Canva. Using this can give you
images a retro feel. Let me show you how
to do this now. So here I how this design. Let's select this and
go to edit image, and we can see a Pixel phi down here in the apps are area. So here we can choose
the Pixel scale, so we can choose the
amount of pixels here. And this will update
in the display here. Let's choose around 20 for this example, and press replace. So decreasing the amount
of pixels might be useful for a background or
for an abstract design. Let's have a look at
another example here. Let's click on this, and here we can set the amount of pixels. So we can have something
quite extreme like this. But for this example,
let's have a round 30. So let's click
replace to see this. So you can see here, it looks like it's downgrading the photo. So we're really reducing
the amount of pixels, which can give your
image a retro feel. Okay, so that's Pixla Pi, thanks for watching, and

65. The Trippy Effect: Okay, so now let's have a look at the trippy
effect in Canva. This effect allows us
to mimic the effects of a digital error. Let
me show this now. So here I have this photograph, and let's click on this
and go to edit image. Now if we go down
to the apps area and scroll to the right,
we can see trippy. So here we have a few
different presets. Let's choose this first
one called radiate. C can instantly see now.
It's very different. This effect is quite
psychedalic, and trippy, and we can get a
really cool effect if we adjust the RGB shift amount. This shifts the red, green, and blue, as we can see here. Okay, then we have
the RGB shift angle. We can see it rotating, the red, green, and blue. Then we have JA. This
is quite interesting. We can go through here and
find one that we like. S. Some of these
are quite extreme, but let's choose this one here. Then we have solar ides, which will give us a tone
reversal effect. Let's just add some of
this and you can see it gets very extreme when we
move this over to the right. Let's just have a small
amount. Let's say around here. That looks quite
interesting now. Let's have a look at another
one of these presets. Here we have the same controls, and let's look at the
other presets as well. Some of these presets
are quite extreme. Presets are fine to start with, but if you want to
use this effect, I recommend you go through here and adjust the
settings yourself. Okay, so that is
a jitter effect. It's a really great effect if you want to mimic
digital errors. This also adds a trippy psychedelic feeling

66. The Colormix Effect: Okay. So now let's
have a look at how to use the color mix
effect in Canva. This allows you to combine
unexpected colors together. Let me show you how
to do this now. Here we have this photograph. Let's click on this, and
let's go to edit image. Now, if we go down to apps, and we scroll over,
we can see color mix. So here we have a few different
presets we can choose. Let's choose this one
here called rainbow. As you can see, it's instantly
change the photograph. We can adjust the hue offset, and this allows us
to rotate the hue. That we can adjust
the saturation. So if we go all the
way to the left, it will be black and white. And if we go to the right, the saturation will
be more powerful. Then we can choose
rainbow amount, so we can just have a
small amount like this, which looks pretty good, or we can choose a larger amount, which is a bit too extreme for this example in my opinion. So let's drop this
down to around here. Then we have rainbow offset, which allows us to rotate
the rainbow colors. Okay, that one
that's pretty good, but let's try
another preset now. Let's choose this
one called Arctic. So you can see here we
have these blue colors, which is probably why
it's called Arctic, and let's just adjust the hue. So when we adjust this, you can see we have these
different colors. Again, we have saturation. Let's set this quite
low for this example. Then we have the rainbow amount, and then we have
the rainbow offset. So I think something
like this is quite good. Then we have these
other presets as well, which all have the
same controls. Okay, so that's the
color mix effect. This can be quite
interesting as it allows you to add rainbow
colors to your design. So thanks watching this video,

67. How to Resize Your Project with Canva Pro: Hi there and welcome
to this video, we're going to show you how to resize your project
with Canva Pro. If you're using the
free plan of CVA, then we do have a video
earlier in this course called resize of project
with a free account, which I recommend checking go. However, if you're using
the pro version of Canva, the method that show
you in this video should be a bit easier than what we show you
with a free plan. So here I have a photograph, and our design has a
ratio of 1920 by 1080. As you can see, we have these
white bars on the side. But I want the design to be the same size as the photograph. If we go to the corner
of the design here, we can actually see the size. So you can see it's
1,620 by 1080. So now we can go up to
resize and Magic switch. If you click and resize, we can see these
different suggestions. Or we can go to custom size. Let's click on this and
remember the height was 1080 and the width was 1,620. Let's make sure we
have this checked and uncheck the one below, and then click Continue. Now we can copy and resize this, or we can resize this design. For this example, I want to resize this design, so
let's click on this. Now we can click on this
photograph and resize this. And you can see here
now it's 1,620 by 1080. Okay, let me show you
one more example. So here we have the same image. And again, if we drag this out, you can see the size is
1,620 by 1080 pixels. Now let's actually go on
resize and Magic switch again, and let's resize this
back to 1920 by 1080. So you can see here
it says 1920 by 1080, or we can type it in by
going on custom sites. I'm just going to
type it in here, check this box, and
then click Continue. This time, we're going to
select copy and resize. So you can see our
project hasn't changed, but we have a new project
here that we can open. So if a click on this now, you can see we have
a new project, and it has a different size, which is 1920 by 1080. So we have this project,
and then I have another tab which has
our previous project. So if you don't want to change your current project and
you want to make a new one, you can use this copy and
resize option instead. Okay, so that's
how you can resize your projects with camera Pro. I hope you find this video useful and I'll

to this quick video about Canva licensing. So I personally can't
really give you any advice about
licensing in Canva, as this is out of
my area expertise. And also, I do recommend
going directly to Canva to find out information on this rather than hearing

frequently asked questions about Canva licensing, which I recommend checking go. They also recommend
