1. Introduction Video: Welcome to the Camtasia 2021 course. This course is going to go over creating superior lower thirds titles for your animations. So with that being said, let me go ahead and mention this. This course is geared towards at least intermediate skill level. So there is an expectation that you have some kind of understanding of how to work with Camtasia. By the end of this course, you should understand how to create your own custom motion graphics in regards to using custom title animation that you create from scratch in Lower Thirds as well. So with that being said, by the end of this course, you should know how to be able to create those things and use the tools that are available to you in Camtasia to do so. Some doesn't mean these days them aside. The eat the food.
2. Glass Triangles : In this lesson, we are going to create the easiest title screen of them all for this course. The animation we will create is called the glass triangle. Let's get started. First, go to the annotations menu by pressing the letter in. And then the annotation menu panel will appear. Within that menu. Go to the call-outs and select any text only based call out from the top of the list and drag it into your workspace. Let's adjust the call out to be two seconds in 24 milliseconds. Then change the text to say tech or TEK. Then adjust the font size to 80 eight. And then search for Proxima Nova th, for the font-style. If you don't have that particular font, choose a font that looks similar. Next, copy the tech texts by pressing Control plus C, and then paste a copy by pressing Control plus V0. Go ahead and left-click and drag over both the texts items. And then hit Control plus G to group them into one element. After we're hit the letter T to bring up the transitions panel. And from that panel, search for glass triangles and then drag and drop it onto our group. Now we need to add some motion blur to our text to give the transition movement some more realism. To do this, press L on your keyboard. And then the visual effects menu will appear. From that menu, look for the Motion Blur option, and then drag and drop it onto the group. If you haven't already noticed. I have a video on the first track that is behind the text layer. You can place any video you would like behind the text. But in this case, I added my video in advance. As that is something I feel most intermediate users, we already have knowledge of doing. And this is something that I'm going to do for all of the videos. There's automatically going to be a video on the bottom track. So just know that for the future videos, make sure you already have a video in place. And general, make sure you pick a video that has at least one dark area. Since we are working with a white color text. Let's now move on to adding the effect where the text flies away and disappears from the video. To do this, press the letter N on your keyboard, and then the annotations panel will appear within that menu. Go to Shapes, then look for the third rectangle from the top down. And then drag and drop it into our timeline. And position it to line up with the end of our group element. Also be sure to align the rectangle to cover the white text completely as we needed to cover the texts. Next, press the arrow key on your keyboard. To bring up the visual effects panel. Within this panel, look for the media matte option, and drag and drop it onto our rectangle. The media Matt is going to allow us to determine where the text will be visible and if it goes outside of the rectangle, the part that is outside the rectangle will be hidden based on the alpha Media met. So let's go ahead and make sure the media MET is set to alpha. In this case, it is set to Alpha tsunami to change it unless on your system it doesn't say alpha. For the final step, we're going to make the text move outside the area where the rectangle was at. To do this, press the letter a to bring up annotations and make sure you are under the Animations tab. And drag and drop the custom animation onto our group element. And make sure you position it about two milliseconds away from the end. Then adjust the duration to be 11 milliseconds. Then go ahead and select the endpoint of the custom animation. And with that selected, press down the arrow key on your keyboard until the texts and our canvas area is invisible. Once it is fully out of the frame, that will complete our animation. Let's go ahead and watch it from start to finish. Congratulations. You now know how to create the glass triangle title animation. You're ready for the next lesson.
3. Equinox Box : In this lesson, we will create the equinox box. To start press the letter N on your keyboard to bring up the annotations panel. Inside that panel, go to the arrows and lines, and look for the line tool that is on the second row to the far right, and select it and drag it into our workspace. Then reduce its duration down to two seconds and 24 milliseconds. Next, increase its line thickness to 100. This is going to give us space to fit the text on top of the element. Then go to the callout tab and look for any texts only panel, and drag and drop it on top of the line we created. Next, adjust the duration of the element to be two seconds in 24 milliseconds. And also, let's go ahead and lengthwise adjust the line we've created to make space for when we change the text to say cleaning experts. One suggested less than change the text to say cleaning. Then change the font style to railway black. You a font size of 98. The ad copy the text by pressing Control plus C and then hit control plus V to paste a copy. And then move the text to the right by pressing the right arrow key to position it so that it looks like both text elements belong together on the same timeline. Then change the text to say experts. And again, adjusted accordingly for it to look like the text belongs together. You may have to adjust the line more to make sure it as evenly spaced on both sides of the text line. So do that now before we move on to the next step. Now that we have the text on top, Let's go ahead and group the line shape by selecting on our timeline. And then press Control plus G to group it. Once grouped, let's scale it to a 160%. And then open it by clicking on the plus button. Once the group is opened, adjust the end and star point in the canvas area for the line element until it looks somewhat balanced. Once done, go back to the main timeline and adjust the vertical height of the line if you need to, since it depends on how balanced things look for you. In this case, I don't need to make any adjustments. Also, if necessary, you can always go back into the group again and adjust a left to right length again until it is balanced. Let's now make some adjustments in the main timeline. In this case, we will adjust the text cleaning experts to have a 75 percent opacity. Then go back into the group. For the line element. Within that group, press the letter L and the a in front of the visual elements. When you add the blur option, then press the letter O to bring up the behavior panel. And then drag and drop the scale option onto that line element. For the behavior set the options as follows. For the impart, style should be shifting. Movement is set to spring with a tension of 3.5. Next, set the duration of the line element to five seconds. The reason we need to do this is to slow down the speed of the skill for the n part of our behavior. Keep in mind that the end part of the element will not show up. That is to say that our behavior. So even though the owl behavior is not set to none, that won't matter in this particular case. However, if you have any doubts or run into issues, you can set this to none. Next, let's press the letter a to bring up the animations panel. And then under the Animations tab, drag and drop a custom animation onto our line and give it a duration of 13 milliseconds. And then place it 29 milliseconds away from the start point. Next, go back to the main timeline and let's add a motion blur to both the cleaning and experts texts by pressing the letter L to open up Visual Effects and then drag and drop the Motion Blur option onto both texts items. Next go to Shapes within annotations and the drag-and-drop, a rectangle on top of the text element. Cleaning experts. Make sure the rectangle fully covers the full texts. They impressed the letter L and add a media mapped to the element. Now move the rectangle just under the yellow line or slightly overlapping it so that the text element will only be visible when is outside the area of the rectangle. Next, change the media matte to alpha invert. This will finalize the process of making the text only visible when outside the area of the rectangle. Let's repeat the same process where the text cleaning. First add a new track above the cleaning text. The main copy of the previous rectangle and paste the copy on the new track. Then reduce both rectangles down to two seconds and 24 milliseconds. Now let's add a custom animation to the cleaning text and give it a duration of 10 milliseconds. And place it at the very start of a text element. At the start of the animation, move the text element downward until it is invisible, which should be when it is fully under the rectangle, recreate it. Next, right-click on the animation and set the easy options to exponential in and out. Let's repeat the same process where the expert texts of adding a custom animation of 10 milliseconds and have it pushed downward at the start of the animation. Plus add an exponential in and out. Let's now play the footage and see how it looks. Now we have most of the animation complete. To finalize the animation goes with the group, recreate it for the line element, and open it by pressing the plus button on the group. And within that group, go a little bit after the star of the element until the vertical height of a line is almost at its max point. And then at that point, adjusted went toward the left until it is almost a perfect square. Then play it back and you will now see the new changes that we made. Next, go back to the main timeline and move the custom animation for the expert texts seven milliseconds for to create a delay. They can play the footage back again. Next group, all the texts elements and white rectangles. And then open that group and move all elements for 29 milliseconds. Afterwards, go back to the main timeline and we'll regroup both groups, that is to say the text room in the line group. And then hit Control G to group them. Then we will add a 12 millisecond custom animation somewhat near the end of the element. And give it a ending animation of 50 percent. And then add a six millisecond animation and make sure it is two milliseconds away from the end of the element. Even a value of 100%. And then make sure the animation before it touches towards the back of it. Let's now play that back and see how it looks. If everything doesn't scale nearly perfectly from the center, adjust the exposition of the whole group. In this case, I will go ahead and make the necessary adjustments to the exposition of the group. This isn't mandatory, but if you are a perfectionist like myself, go ahead and make the changes. Next, we will add a glow by going to the transitions panel, by pressing the letter T on our keyboard. And then search for the glow option. And drag and drop it onto the end of our group and give it a duration of 17 milliseconds. Okay, now I have everything set. How would like it to be? So let's go ahead and play the fool animation. Congratulations, you now have completed the equinox box animation. Get ready for the next lesson.
4. Master Swipe : In this lesson, we will create what I call the master swipe. To begin, first, go to annotations by pressing the letter a on your keyboard. Then go to call-outs and look for any text element and drag and drop it into our workspace. Then change the font to something bold. In this case, I will select railway black and then give it a font size of 134. Didn't give it a somewhat orange color. Then change the font to say Matt. They impress the letter L on your keyboard to bring up the visual panel. And then drag and drop the Motion Blur option onto our element. Next, press the letter O to bring up behaviours panel. And then drag and drop the drifting option onto our element. The inset the options as follows for the in set type to text, left to right, movement to ease out quint direction to bottom. Speed should be set to 79 percent with an offset of 0.05 seconds. For the during set, the options as follows. Type should be set to text left to right. Movement to ease out quint. Loop time to four seconds. With an offset of 0.03 seconds. Delay to 0 seconds. And loop should be set to forever. Next, drag and drop the reveal behavior onto our element. The inset, the options as follows. Type to text, right to left. Movement, to ease out Court. Direction to left. Speech should be set to 95%. With an offset of 0.05 seconds. During should be set to none. For the outset, the options as follows. Style to reveal, type to text, right to left. Movement, to ease in quiet direction too, right? In the speech should be set to 91% with an offset of 0.05 seconds. Next, copy the text met and paste it into our timeline and make sure it starts and ends at the same time as the previous text met. Then change the text to say Simmons, and then change the text color to white. Lastly, all we need to do is adjust the text Simmons to be directly underneath the texts, met with the offset to the right. Make sure both texts elements are somewhat in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. After that, let's play the animation back. And that's it. You're done with it. You created the master swipe. Congratulations. You're ready for the next lesson.
5. Shooting Star: In this lesson, we will create the shooting star animation. To begin first, go to the annotations, then go to call-outs and drag and drop any text element into the canvas area. Then give it a font size of 134, and then change the font color to somewhat of an orange color. Then change the font style to railway black. They impress the letter L on your keyboard to bring up the visual effects panel. And then drag and drop the motion blur element onto our element. They impress the letter O on your keyboard to bring up the behaviors panel. And then look for the option reveal. And then drag and drop it onto our element. For the N animation set the options as follows. Types should be set to text, left to right, movement to ease out Court. Direction to top. With a speed of 88% and offset of 0.05 seconds in the infrared during set it to none. For outset the options as follows. Style to reveal, type, to text, right to left, movement, to easily in quad direction to write. Speed to 91% with an offset of 0.05 seconds. Next, change the text to say met. Then after that, let's play the animation to see what it looks like. Let's now go ahead and copy the text met. They move the text to the right so that it sits directly in front of the texts met. Then change the color to white. Then change the font style to quicksand light. Or pick a font that looks similar if you don't have that particular font installed. Next, adjust the text horizontally in our canvas area to make sure it is somewhat balanced as if the texts goes together. They enter just the behavior of the text Junie. So that for the in animation behavior, it is set as follows. Right? For the direction. The end for the text met set the element duration to four seconds in 18 milliseconds. The imposition that text Junie to in at the same time as the text met. After that, make sure that the behavior review for the text Junie, is set to none for during and for the out behavior, it should be set as follows. Style to reveal, type, to text, right to left, movement to easy and quad direction to right with a speed of 91% and an offset of 0.05 seconds. Being copy the text journey from the timeline. And then paste a copy in the timeline in lining up to start and end. At the same time as our previous texts, Joni In changed the name to operations manager. Then change the font name to railway black, and give it the same color as the mat txt. Then adjust the font size to 41. The unadjusted behavior options as follows. For the and set the type to object, movement to ease out Court direction to the left. And for the speed, set it to 88%. For the drawing, set it to none. And for the outset it as follows. Style to reveal. Type to right to left. Movement, too easy and quiet direction to write. Speed to 91% with an offset of 0.05 seconds. Next to finalize things, make sure all of your text is positioned how you would like it to be. In this case, makes sure that the operation managers tx sits right underneath the Met text part of it. That is to say the textured line up right under the letter M, the name met. Once done, let's play our animation back. Okay, we are getting much closer to completion now. The last component is to add what I call the shooting star thing. To do this go to the annotations menu and then go to Shapes. And wasn't shapes. Look for the third rectangle down in the list and drag and drop it into our timeline. Then given a duration of 18 milliseconds. And then scale it down to something about this size and position it over the letter I. And the name Joanie. Next hit Control plus G to group the shape. Then open the group by pressing the plus button on the group. They impress ill, so open visual properties and then drag and drop the Motion Blur option onto the element. Then hit the letter O to activate the behavior menu and drag and drop that reveal behavior onto our element. And they said that behavior options as follows. Movement to ease out Court, direction to right. With a speed of 88%. For during set the options as follows. Style to reveal movement to linear opacity to 45 percent. Loop time to 2.33 seconds. Delay 2.5 seconds, loops to 1. Plus make sure you have a loop option set to forever. For the behavior, set the options as firewalls style to review, movement, to ease in quiet direction, to left with the speed of 91%. Next, we will add a custom animation. So press the letter a to activate the Animation menu in drag and drop the custom animation onto our shape and give it a duration of nine milliseconds. It should start at the start of the element. If when you scroll through the animation playback that element disappears, then in the main timeline on group the element and then regroup it to make it appear properly. Then when we scroll through the animation using our playhead, it should appear, if it didn't appear it properly before. Next, let's make sure that the group starts five milliseconds after the texts operations manager. Then copy the shape animation, recreate it, and then place a copy two milliseconds after the text element Junie. They opened the group by pressing the plus button. Within that group, delete the custom animation that is currently own it. Then go back to the main timeline and then select the shape and ungroup it by pressing Control plus u. Once on grouped, move the shape in the bottom left-hand corner of the text operation manager. They hit Control plus G to group it again. And then open the group by pressing the plus button. And then within the group, press the letter a to reveal the animation menu. And then drag and drop the custom animation onto the element and change the duration of the animation to nine milliseconds. It makes sure it is at the start of that element. Lastly, go to the end of the animation and move the shape to the right by pressing the right arrow key until it ends near the letter I. It may disappear, but don't worry, we will fix this if it is an invisible element four, you go back to the main timeline and then ungroup the element by pressing Control plus u. And then regroup it by pressing Control plus g. Next, go back inside the group by pressing the plus button. And then all to the reveal behavior to have the element go to the right for the out behavior. Now we have completed setting up the animation. Let's watch it from the start to the finish. Congratulations, you made it to the end. You ready for the next lesson?
6. Stencil Effect : In this lesson, we will create what I call the stencil animation. To begin, first, hit the letter a on your keyboard to activate the annotations menu. From there go to Shapes and then look for the third rectangle in the list. And then drag and drop it into our canvas area. Next, give it a duration of two seconds in nine milliseconds. They impress the letter T on your keyboard. And that will activate the transitions me from this menu. But for the action prison, once you find it, drag and drop it onto our element. Next, press the letter L to activate the visual effects menu. And from that menu, drag and drop the Motion Blur option onto our element. Next, press the letter O to activate the behaviors panel, and then look for the option Scale. And drag and drop that onto our element. The inset that behavior options for in as follows. Style to review, movement, to ease out Court. Direction to left, speed to 88% for during set it to none. And then let's go to the Out option and set the options as follows, style to shrink movement, to ease out back with a speed of 92%. Next, let's move the rectangle somewhat in the lower left-hand corner of our screen. And try to estimate the space and size of the rectangle for the text we will create later called clean. Next, press the letter in to activate the annotations panel. And then go to call-outs and add any text-based only call out to our timeline. Then change the text to say clean. And then change the font style to railway black. Or a font that looks similar to that, and give it a font size of 97. Then adjust the duration of the element to two seconds in one millisecond. They impress the letter L to open the visual effects menu. And then drag and drop the Motion Blur option onto our element. Then drag and drop the media map onto our element. And change the properties to alpha inverse. At the word, move our text box below the rectangle by selecting it and pressing the down arrow key until it is fully underneath the rectangle. Once it is fully under the rectangle and the text is still invisible. We will next add a custom animation. So press the letter a to activate the animations panel in the drag and drop a custom animation onto our element at the very start. And give it a duration of nine milliseconds. At the very end of the custom animation, we will move the texts upward until it is visible in somewhat centered on the rectangle. If things don't look well balanced, you can adjust the rectangle until it looks perfectly. So select the rectangle and make the necessary adjustments. Next year, the rectangle in capacity of 73%. Make sure the clean text is aligned towards the end of the rectangle element. If it is not already, then copy the rectangle shape using control plus C, and then paste the copy with control plus V. A movie upward using the up arrow key on your keyboard. Make sure to leave space for the text that will go above the clean texts. The ng-click on the timeline triangle for the element so that we can see the properties. And then select scale. I hit the Delete key on your keyboard to remove the scale behavior, as we will not need that. Next, adjust the duration to two seconds and 24 milliseconds. The hand position is 70 milliseconds after the start point of the clean texts. Next, copy the clean texts in our timeline, and then paste a copy of it and give it a duration of two seconds and 24 milliseconds, the same as our rectangle. And then make sure they are both the line parallel. The unchanged, the media matte to alpha. Then remove the custom animation by selecting it and they hit the Delete key on your keyboard. They move the copy of the clean texts upward so that it sits above. Then change the text to say expert. Next we will select the rectangle and place it on a slight rotation and move it downward so that it cuts off the first or second letter in the text expert. Let's now go ahead and play our animation back. We are now almost done for the final phase, must add a custom animation to the very start of the text expert. Give it a duration of 10 milliseconds. And then at the start of the animation, move it downward until it is invisible. Now let's play back the animation again. Next we will add a custom animation to expert texts that ends right at the end of the clean text element and give it a duration of 10 milliseconds. And then at the end of that custom animation, have it move upward until it is fully invisible. Now let's play our completed animation back. That's it. We are done. Congratulations. You have completed the transparent stencil animation. You ready for your course assignment next.
7. Course Assignment : For the course assignment is going to be very simple. In this case, I want you to take one of your personal videos rather from you or a client, and add one of the animations that you create it in any given lesson and add it on top of your video. This will help me to see how useful these tidal animations are for real-world use. And give me potentially new ideas of animations that can be developed for future training courses. If you enjoyed this course, please leave a review and also share with others. As the more students who take this course, the more likely I will create additional courses on animations. For Camtasia, I normally add new courses that are released in the discussion section so that you are aware that a new version of the course is available. Thanks again for watching this video and I hope that you will follow us and stay tuned for future training courses on the Camtasia software.
