1. introduction about chef and course: Guys, I'm so Dan Vany,
cookbook author, culinary educator, food blogger, and full time entrepreneur. And I create a lot of
courses on skillshare. We all start our day with
a good cup of coffee, but many of us don't have
good brewing equipment. Don't worry guys, In this
course we'll learn to brew really cool cup of coffee using all basic equipments that are
available in our kitchen. Along with this, we'll
learn how to froth milk. A good frothy milk gives
amazing texture to our coffee. Along with that, I will tell you various combinations
that you can enjoy in your party
or during evening. Guys, let's begin
this journey and I'm sure you will enjoy
this. Let's start, guys.
2. Equipments needed: So guys, let's talk about equipment that we need
to brew this cup. What we need is mash. That's definitely available
in our pantry mix, a grinder blender,
a muslin cloth. And that said guys, not much of fency equipment
needed to brew a good cup.
3. Understanding coffee beans: Guys, a good beans
create a good cup. There's definitely
no doubt about it. But for all of you who just need a cup of
coffee for yourself, you really don't need
to get in much of the details about in
selection of the beans. All you can do is if
you need mild coffee, you can select
Arabica, light roast. Or if you need a bold coffee, you can select
Robusta dark roast. Or accordingly, if you
need medium strong, not even mild, even strong, what you can select is
maybe Arabica dark roast. You guys don't need to get into much of the details of
technalities of coffee beans. Most important thing, buy beans
that are freshly roasted. That's definitely going
to give you very, very good aroma from your cup.
4. Coffee beans grinding: We will be brewing coffee
using two methods accordingly. Let's grind our coffee. If you have coffee grinder, beans grinder, it's
well and good. Don't worry. Let's try a
method using mixer grinder. Let's start guys right now, let's grind beans
in a little bit. Of course, we will be using that in mash method another way, but similar to mash method, let's guys don't
grind this at one go. What we need to do is we need to pulse this like guys, keep checking this still. We can see there are some
big particles in this. We need to pulse this around
three to four more times. I think we'll check that
after some couple of minutes. This is the texture that we
need for cold brew the light. Now we're brewing very
much fine coffee. Come. Let's begin guys. Let's, let's start with pulse, and after a couple of times, let's see if we have reached
the desired texture or not. Still, we need a bit
more fine than this. We need to do that a
couple of more times. Let's check again.
Okay, you almost at the texture that
we're looking for around two or three more times than it should be done then. Okay, so this is the texture
that we're looking for. You can just shave a look. Fresh, grind coffee, smells amazing if we can
already feel that aroma.
5. Brewing a perfect black coffee: Let's brew a hot cup of black coffee using two
different methods. Guys, let's start guys, I'm taking metal mesh. I'm keeping a muslin
cloth on this. Step number one, let's
wet this cloth first, guys, I'm using this
dripper in case you don't have this
irregular kettle will work. Step number two, let's have a fine grind coffee
on this 15 grams. If we talk about
temperature of water, it should be around 200
degrees Fahrenheit. But in case if you
don't have thermometer, you don't need to buy one, just bring water to the boil and let it sit for around
ten to 15 seconds. You will get almost the desired temperature that
we are looking for. Let's pour water
slowly over this. Once we see entire
coffee grind is wet, let it sit for around
15 to 20 seconds. Now let's pour water
slowly over this 15200 ML. Keep on pouring slowly, very slowly, in a
circular motion. This will help to maintain the temperature of
the water property, and coffee will be
extracted in a fine way. This entire process will take not more than three
to 4 minutes. After three to 4 minutes, one coffee is brewed. All we got is a
good cup of coffee with complex flavor
and amazing aroma. This shows you really don't need fancy equipment to
brew a good cup. You can pair this with milk. Maybe any vegan milk, maybe oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk, or
milk of your choice, or enjoy the way it is guys.
6. Ethopian brewing method or brewing in kettle: Now let's brew another
method that's, again, pretty much simple still. It's very much ancient
method of brewing a cup of coffee and still used in many
countries like Ethiopia. Come guys, let's begin. Right now I'm using regular
kettle and I'm pouring around 18 grams of coffee
in this fine grinded, just tap this a little bit. What I've used is around
15 grams of coffee. I'm adding around
30 ML of water. Let's again wait for
730 to 45 seconds. What we can see is good
bubbles in the kettle. This process is called blooming. This helps to reduce the
acidity in your coffee. Now let's pour water evenly
in the kettle around 200 ML. Now let's wait for
around 3 minutes, guys. Once coffee is brewed, let's filter this
using fine mesh. This should be very much fine, the reason being coffee granules should not pass from
the filter mesh. Guys, let's filter this, okay? And this is done. This is what we call a
good cup for a good day. Perfect the way we need. Good aroma, good texture, and you will have a
good day after this.
7. Cold brew: Now let's brew a
different method. Cold brew low in acidity. Very simple to brew one of my favorite good
flavors, good texture. You can use that with
number of variations. The best part is you can store
that for up to seven days. Let's brew this method. This method, measurement
is a key use. A formula of one is to
ten or one is to eight, That is, say, one part of
coffee to ten parts of water. If you need a little
bit of strong, one portion of coffee to
eight portions of water. Right now, we have used
around 25 grams of coffee. I will be using around
250 ML of water. Let's pour water around
250 ML. It's done. All we need is only three
ingredients for this. Water, coffee, and time. That's it, we have
used formula one is to 1020 5 grams of coffee
to 50 ML of water. And the brewing time will be
around eight to 10 hours. After eight to 10 hours, we filter this using muslin
cloth or a mesh filter. Just make sure coffee granule should not pass from
the mash filter the next day, morning. Let's serve this with some rocks or ice the way I like it. This is comfort drink. If you are new to coffee, you surely love this, not to bitter fetal taste. And you can pair this
with the milk of your choice and kick
start your day.
8. Milk frothing: You don't have milk. Froth, no worries. Let's froth a good cup of
milk using mixer, blender. Let's what I can tell, this is pretty quick and
pretty easy method already. We can see a good froth here. We'll just take hardly a minute. What you need to do is
after a couple of seconds, just tap this a
bit. Begin again. We are done guys.
This was so simple. What we can see is really good and you can enjoy
a good frothy cup. This was so simple and so quick, guys, just make sure
milk should be hot. That's it. In 1
minute it's done.
9. Cup of coffee using instant coffee: Guys, now let's make a cup of
coffee using instant coffee with milk The wave of froth in the earlier chapter,
You will enjoy that. Let's begin, guys. Let's add some instant coffee, some sugar. You can definitely use any other sugar of
your choice as well. And some spoons of water, maybe around four to five. Once this is done,
let's close this. Let's give this a good shake for a couple of seconds or maybe
around a minute or two. We have to keep shaking
this until the sugar melts and we get decent
froth and a silky texture. Let's pour milk, the froth milk that we just in the
previous class. Okay, You can definitely
add the way you want. If you need strong,
you can add more. I like pretty much strong, so I'm adding around
two spoons of coffee. This is done guys. Just
give this a good mix. Your coffee is good to go. Pretty much fun way
of making a coffee. Good texture and good taste, just like you enjoy
your cappuccino.
10. Combination and coffee pairing: Guys, now let's learn some really cool
combinations with cold brew. Let me tell you
some combinations. You will enjoy that and also you can host
that in your parties. If you need a good
cup of coffee and a refreshing day pair our
cold brew with coconut water. Also you can try
with ginger real as well and some tonic
water coffee. You can try this
with orange juice. Maybe a very cool combination. That's blue pea coffee. And you can try this cold
brew the way you made Moto. You will love that
for sure, guys, these are different combinations
that I shared with you. In case you have
