1. Trailer: My name is Sophie 1901 and Illustrator and InDesign. Just a curious person about art. And we are going to make a mask in Spark. So people will use your mask, go to your profile, see your projects, and know about you a little bit more. So let's get started.
2. Intro: Hello everyone. My name is Sophie night an hour and I'm an illustrator again designer. Just a curious person all about art. So today I prepared a new class for you, which is about Instagram mask. And we are going to make a mask in Spark AR. So why a mask? A mask is a really popular to tool to get popular on Instagram. So people will use your mask and go to your profile, see your art projects, and know about you. But more. So. I guess mask is really nice too to work with and we are going to make one today. So let's get started.
3. Project description: So for this class you will need Spark AR. I will explain you how to download part AIR later. Also, you will need an iPad was procreate installed because we are going to draw the mask in Procreate and then upload it to spark AR. If you're using Photoshop or Adobe Fresco. Not a big deal. It's the same as Procreate basically. So don't worry. So we are going to make a sketch in Procreate tested in Spark AR, then make a final version of the mask in Procreate, and then add the final version, interspike AIR. And I am going to guide you through all the steps of adding the masks and yeah, let the event, if you have any questions, don't be afraid to question them in the comments. And I really like, I'd like to see your results. Hi, Skillshare projects, so please share your projects. Some reviews. I would like to hear your opinions. Yeah. Let's begin.
4. How to download Spark AR: In this video, I will show you how to download Spark AR. So we will just type in Google's part a, our large. And this first link as part a, our Facebook, because it belongs to Facebook, we click on this link and press it out loud. So ultimately, I have already here my profile. So you will need to create your own this. You can do this by going to spark AIR. Yeah. Spark, create. Prefer. This will open, it will press, gets tired and create your own profile. So Spark is download it so it needs a little bit of time. So if you have a Mac, just drags and Spark ARM studio into applications. Once more. I did it two times, but not a victim. If you have Windows, just click to spark AR and it's all of the allowed automatically. Or you can just google how to download Spark AR for Windows. So here I'm in finder applications, and here I have this park air Studio. It will work immediately. So don't worry. Just verifies now. Oh, okay. So it's working and we will be creating in this program. So I hope everything is clear. If not, please leave questions below in the yeah. Also course. So see you as a sketch.
5. Sketching in Procreate: So hello, here we are in procreate, and let's begin drawing our mask. So let's photo and select the picture we downloaded the image. So here's our mesh. We can import the next one. Just insert a photo. And so we have our two measures here. And let's see what we can draw on this face mask. So I don't want to fill all of this shape here as shapes of the eyes and the nose and the lips. So maybe we will color in the lips and maybe add some blush on the cheeks. And just, you know, like a little bit of eye shadow and the cheeks. And also here. And like all around the face. We will add some small images of a haloing topic. So let's not, let's just paint here. Let's begin with our sketch. So what I like to use, not sketching on paper, if you want to just bring your sketchbook and just start drawing, I like just to draw directly on Mac to see how to look. Now we'll draw some ghosts with maybe they will say something like Boo. And of course, it's great to draw directly on the mask because we can export it and see inspired by our AI, how it looks. So then we can draw our final mask. So we need to see how the sketch looks first. Maybe some drawings will stretch. I don't know. We need to test it all out. So yeah. Just think of something like a learning style and just draw something. And maybe we'll make the lips orange and some orange blush. Or maybe the ellipse even white. Like a little bit harder style. Maybe small skeleton here. I don't know. So don't put much effort in it because we can we will go back and change this. Maybe if you will like it at the end, we will match. And that changes. Just give it easy and simple. So I will make Sorry. Hand. I will make my star smaller. Sorry, yeah, just play around. It's not as serious thing to draw a sketch. Sketch you need always to experiment and have fun. And skeleton. Medieval may be scared and who is an angel? So yeah, maybe just a little bit more stars. That's it. So yeah. What I wanted to tell you that things may stretch it. For example, you have here the nose and then you have an angle, it goes down. So if you draw something like here, for example, it can stretch. Of course. So we will see how it will stretch. What is this star? Because it's on the angle of the nose. And also it will be interesting to see you as this goes because it's like also on this like shows a phase. Yeah, but we will change it all. What we don't like. So don't worry about it. Also we can like at Pericles here. This will be in the final stage on your sketch. Yeah, I think there's cool. Let's explore that now. So we don't want to have an IPT JPEG, I don't know. So we need to turn the background color. And also we need to turn off I will show it first the masks. Yeah. And then we need to turn the background color. So we will have only the shapes and don't be afraid. It will just look like this on the face, like this. But now we just explored the PNG Save. And now we will go into AR.
6. Testing our mask in Spark AR: Hello. So here we are in Spark AR. And yeah, let's just our mask. So click New Project and click face tracking. So it's loading up. And here you see, yes. Right now you see all the properties that we are going to use. So we have the device, the camera, and you see the face tracker is yellow. So we click on that. The right mouse at objects. And we click phase mesh. So now we have this strange mask. But don't worry, it's okay. So now we are going to materials and click Plus here next to materials. And it creates a material. Now's a mask is white. We press on this material and we buy shader properties. We choose file. And in downloads, we choose our sketch. So it was that easy. So let's test this mask a bit more. So click different people here and Test, How's the Mac sloping. So I like it really much. And even you can click as a FaceTime HD camera to see yourself as a mask. So yeah, I like it. So let's go to finalizing our MRTK. See you there. Bye.
7. Finalizing the mask in Procreate pt1: So here we are back in Procreate. So yeah. So the lower down and start drawing, we can change the color. To read. For example, sphere will be drawing with white color. So what I will use is white color for ghosts. Yellow color for angel wings. Then. What else? So blue color. Again for angels. For Angel. Oh yeah. And the red one. So let's change our background color again to green. We want to use this color. So the red one. Yeah, I guess that's it. So let's draw. So first I will fix that white color and start drawing the skeleton. And by the way, I use the studio pen brush is then made inking and then studio pen. It's like very smooth. And in inking, who find some brushes which are really smooth like in ink. Now, I like the studio pen and fill it in. And then so it goes. So we don't have to repeat the shape perfectly. For example, when I'm just sketching. I don't draw perfect shapes at this stage. So if you more like a loose, more loose jar, just don't pay attention to your sketch a lot. So some stars will be white. Hello, mains. I don't know what it's called. So let's draw some black starves. So we are done here. Smileys, stars if you want to. So now to see the ice goes. Skeleton. Hello, skeleton. Here. And it was the red color as the horns. Think. Like inside. So we are almost done. I sing, it turned out great. Let's add lettering.
8. Finalizing the mask in Procreate pt2: So yeah, let's try a trans mesh. Actually looks fantastic. So about labs and eye shadow and stuff like that. We can do that on a new layer. So we can group this layer mask. And then some stuff. Orange man's orange, brown color. We can add some freckles here. Kinda automated. What we can do is also to try on poor examples, brown background color. And I don't know the net as my color is red, peachy. So let's try this. Oh yeah, it'll look nice thing is so now lives. We can draw some red and now we don't want to use this studio pen. We want to use something which will be smooth and the edges. So we will pick a new brush. For example, for example, the 0 plan and lower the opacity down and draw the ellipse. And now what we're going to do stories, some parts here and here. And we are going to use the medium airbrush is in airbrushing. And we will use the soft brush is and make it smaller and lower the opacity of the eraser. And we will just go over the lips here. So till blend out easily. And also here. Now we'll even makes us Waller. And also here. So our lips are done. Let's draw the cheeks. Now we can use actually is a soft brush. Always. Numbers of SHE. Oh, actually, this looks quite good, but you'll make the brush smaller and draw the cheeks, the nose. I don't want to touch the eyes, but if you want, just draw something here. But again. You don't want to go over here. So again, we have outlines ellipse, right? Right? Yes, We outlines ellipse and we didn't go over the edges or do we have. So I guess it's, the message is done. We can also like tell right here. Well, when we will publish some videos of the mask on Instagram, we can draw a, we can say like new mask available and things like that. Some design to post on Instagram that we have mask, that people should download it as quick as possible. Because Halloween is soon. So yeah, we can then export as a JPEG. What it is. Jpeg, click Save. And then this was a design. Again, no background. And we will export as a PNG file this mask. So our job is done here in procreate. Of course. It's good practice to go and change some details over time. If you don't like something. But because we made our sketch, everything will turn on grade. So I will see you.
9. Adding out final mask into Spark AR: So welcome back. Open the same project. And then we are going to textures, to materials unless choose another texture. So we're going to press this arrow here and new texture. So open up our drawing and wallah, we see our mask. So congratulations. You made your mask. So let's test it out more. So maybe lower the opacity a bit. And you can also change the blending mode to Multiply Screen. So we are going to use Alpha was a kind of lower opacity, so it blends it in a little bit more. So, yeah, now we are going to test our mask. So press here, test on device and send it to Instagram. Like you will get a message on Instagram that you need to test out your mask. And you will test it. And if everything is alright, so now it will upload, takes a bit of time. So yeah, we sent and notifications so you can open the app and test your effect. And then if you're very, if you like your mask, Let's publish it then. So what we're going to do is publish new eat effect. But also you can update existing masks because iPhones are always getting better and better. So we need always to update masks and don't worry about this now. So just click Upload. It's uploading. And now we are going to go to work profile. And we will fill in the information.
10. Final steps: So our final step is to publish a mask on Instagram. So now when we clicked Publish and spark AIR, it took us to spark a hub. So now what we need to do is to give it a name, at example, halloween. And then here will be your file. And you need to choose all platforms. Of course it will be Instagram and Facebook. And it should be public. Of course, the owner. Here will be your Facebook page, and here will be your Instagram profile. Now we need to choose four categories. For example, selfies and events, moods, and appearance of course. So now the keywords, Halloween, when, holiday, selfie, and anything you like. And now we need to add a demo video which will be here in the frame of the yeah, which will be like a demo video when you open up the mask. So I already made my mask is the guy we saw in SPAC air, air when testing. You can record your own video of yourself wearing this mask. And the only thing that you need to turn off the music and saves the video and uploaded here. It should be portrait sized. And that's all the requirements for the demo video. So without music and fortunate size. So we don't have any collaborators and publication date as soon as possible. Also, you can set the time as a date, but we need as soon as possible and then click Submit. So here's when we submitted. We have here this window open. And when we click visibility. So my mask is already uploaded, but you will see that the mask is and review and that's totally okay. So just wait until the mask is published and he made it. So congratulations. Please share your results and see you in the next video.
11. Outro : Hi, class relations. You completed the class. I hope you liked this class and I would hear some feedback and just overall thoughts.
