About This Class
こんにちは!
If you would like to learn how the Japanese speakers talk in daily life by studying grammar, this course is for you.
I've heard from many students that even though they have studied the basics, they find themselves unable to understand what the native speakers are saying in animes, TVs and so on.
This happens because the purpose of some conventional text books is sometimes to teach formal and plite Japanese, not Japanese used in daily life.
From my teaching experience, I have created the material that teaches you these common phrases. These will enable you to communicate without sounding too polite or too outdated.
In the first lesson you'll learn
- how to introduce yourself (dialog)
- important vocabulary
- key phrases
- grammar - The topic marker 'は'
- cultural tips - さん、くん、ちゃん
All material is written with Hiragana and Katakana. If you are not familiar with the pronunciation of these characters, I have a preliminary course where you can learn them in the fastest and easiest manner.
Meet Your Teacher
Hello, I'm Mikiko from Miki's Japanese!
Thank you for watching my videos and checking my profile!
Here's a little bit about myself.
I was born and raised in Japan and went to Canada for the first time in my 20s.
The reason I decided to go in Canada was because a Canadian teacher came to my English class when I was in junior high school. I was so happy to be able to understand English spoken by a native speaker for the first time, and from there I immersed myself in learning English.
After returning to Japan, I worked as an interpreter for a company and as a university lecturer, and now I teach Japanese to people all over the world on a freelance basis.
I love this job because I am always meeting new people.
I hope to meet you all somewhere down ... See full profile
