1. Introduction: Hi, and welcome to part four of my beaded jewelry making series. In this class, you'll create a stunning pair of waterfall earrings, a modern, elegant design that's perfect for everyday wear or special occasions. Along the way, you learn the brick stitch technique, one of the most versatile and essential beading techniques. Once you master it, you'll be able to use it in many other jewelry designs and expand your creative possibilities. I'll guide you through every step of the process, making it easy to follow, whether you're just getting started or already have some beating experience. If you're enjoying this series, be sure to explore the previous and upcoming classes as well. Each project introduces a different design and new techniques helping you build your skills and become a more confident jewelry maker. Let's get started and create a beautiful pair of earrings together. 2. 1.Starting the Upper Triangle Section: Hello, today, we want to beat this earring, which is also famous as a waterfall earring. The middle earring is made with Japanese uke seed beads. Delica model with size 11 that as you can see it has a cylinder look. The earrings on the left and the right are made with check set beads. Size ten, as you can see this model, this check model is circular. The seed beat size ten is bigger than size 11. As you can see, the side earrings which are made with the set bits of size ten are obviously bigger comparing to the middle earring, which has been made with the seedbeds of size 11. Considering all three of them have nine strands. And the beginning of our bedding is right up here. So it starts from this beginning of this black row and it goes up. Then we attach the earring ring. And then we come down and attach these rows Alright. Now, if you want our work to be softer, use Nylon thread or silk thread. You see this bracelet is soft. So for this soft bracelet, we use silk thread or Nylon thread, which gives us a softer and more flexible work. But if you want our work to be more rigid and it would be firmer like this bracelet you can see here, we use the invisible monofilament thread or the fier line thread. Now, Nylon threads are in these brands, Sloan Nimo Ko one G. And ki are very good threads that you can use. And for silk threads, Piolin silk, which is made in America is a very good thread, and Griffin silk thread is a German. So each one of them you can acquire and use them in your beading. And for beading, for set beads as the size of ten or 11, the thread should be 0.2 millimeters, and that would be compatible. Now, silk threads are usually not waxed. So for easier use, that it wouldn't just get knotted during your work, and you can work with it easier or your thread wouldn't get torn apart or be shredded during your work. It's better if you can acquire or buy thread wax or bees wax and then apply it to your threads. You can basically fly it on your thread, and this actually makes your thread more resistant to abrasions. And it also makes your thread more softer and smoother. You can also use thread heaven, which is an artificial and clear wax, and it doesn't get your thread just like greasy. So acquire each one of these that you can or any other wax you're able to get and apply it to your thread, so your thread would be a wax thread. Now, look at this earring. It has a very soft and flexible shape. So I want to use a silk thread in order to craft it and bead it. You can use either a silk or a nylon thread for this. So we need thread. Set beads in different colors. Earring cooks. You see, my dear friends, you can do it two ways. Just like this. I mean, just like it can be either like this that this upper triangle and the lower triangle, which shapes a diamond would be both in one color, just like this one, or either like this other one, which the upper triangle is in a different color from the lower triangle, which is in yellow. Now, I want to work on this style. So as I said before, the beginning of our beating it would be here. We would be beading upward toward the top. Then I beat this seed bead loop, and then we come back down and we add these rows. I take almost 1.5 meter of thread. I want the diamond shape part of my earring to be red. Therefore, I'll take four red seed beads. When I take them to the end of my thread, I keep 15 centimeters from the end of my thread, and then again, I pass my needle through these two lower seed beads one more time. You see, my work should look like this now. Then I pass my needle through these two and I go down. And from these two side ones, again, I come back o This would be the shape of my work, two rows of two set beads right next to each other. Okay, now from here on, I take seabeds two by two. You see, now my thread has came out of here. Go through the back of these two beats. So as you can see, I added two setbds on the right. Then again, I pass my needle through these two set beds that I've just added. Again, I take two other set beds. And you see, my thread has came out of this part. So I pass my needle through the backup my beats. And now I pass my needle through these two seedbeds that I've just added. So just one more time. I'll take two seedbeds. My thread has came up here, so I enter my needle from the back of the set beds. And then again I pass my it off through these two seed bids that I've just added. So just remember to pull your thread in each step so your work would just be tightened up together. Okay, how long I should keep going. You see, we have started our beating from this upper triangle. So it means it's just right here. These earrings that I've made here are all in nine rows. So as many rows as you want, you should have a group of two seed beds. For example, if I want nine rows, I should have nine group of two seed beads. You say, for example, mine right now are one, two, three, and four and five, five pair of seed beads. So if I just want to have nine rows like this earring, I should continue, so I would have nine pair of seed beads. So right now I've got five. I should do it four more times so I can get it up to nine pairs. You can increase or decrease this number based on your own taste. You should just be careful that you should use odd numbers. It means it should either be seven, nine, 11, or if you wanted to have more width, you can have it on 13. And why should you use odd numbers? Because if you can see in the middle of these rows, there is one row which is taller than some others. You see, this is my middle row, which is the tallest. I've got four on one side and four on the other side. So my work would be symmetrical. Or this is my middle one here, and we have four on each side, and they would be symmetrical, too. Just two by two with each other. So you should just continue beating as much as you want the width to be, and then I'll tell you the rest. 3. 2.Completing the Upper Triangle Section: Okay, I've beaded this for nine rows and nine pairs. Okay, now, right here, I turn over my work. You take two beads and pay attention over here, guys. You see these threads above my seat beads. I just skip the first one and I pass my needle through underneath the second one. Now, I come back up from this sea bed from the one I've just added. I pass through toward down from the next one, the one next to it. And then, again, from this one, I go up. I pull my thread tightly and strongly. See, these two seed beds are actually sitting on the lower seed beds, and they've created the third row. Now, from now on, I only take one seed bed. Only in the beginning of each row, I take two seabeds. But for the rest of the row, I only take one seedbed each time. And you see, just from the next thread. We've passed through this thread the time before. So this time, we're going to pass my needle through the next thread. Then again, I come up right from this seed bed that I've just added. So just like that, I take another seed bed and I pass my needle through the next thread, which means here. And then again, I go up from the same seed bed. I'm just going to do it one more time. I take one seat bead. I pass my needle through the next thread, which means this one. And then I go up again from the same seat bead and I've just added. So I'll just do the same thing until I get to the end of the rope. Okay, I finished this rope. Now again, I turn over my work. And as I told you before, in the beginning of each row, I use two seat beads. Just pull the thread tightly. As we said in the beginning of our row, we just skip the first thread and we pass our needle through underneath the second thread. And then I come up from this Cp. These are the two CPs that I've just added to my row. I go up from this one and I come down from the other one, the next one. And again, from this seat bead, I go up. And from now on, I just continue with adding one seat bed at a time. I pass my needle through the next thread. See this thread. In the previous step, I pass my needle through this thread. So now I'm going to go through the next one. Then again, from the same seabed I come up. I take another seabed and I pass my needle through the next thread. I go up from the same seatbd. And I'll continue until the end of my row. All right. This row is also done, so I'll turn over my work again. Obviously, for the beginning of my row, I take two set beads. I skip the first thread and I pass my needle through the second thread. I go up from this seatbd. I come down from the other seatbd next to it, and then again, I go up from this set bed again. I also put my finger on the set bid so they wouldn't move too much. You should pull your thread strongly so it could tighten up. Then again, for the rest of my row, I'm going to use only one set bed. I take one ipD and I go through the next thread. Okay. Now I think you've actually got a handle of how we work and the steps of our work. So it really in the beginning of each row, I use two iPeds and for the rest of the row, I take one ipD and I go through the next thread. This is actually called brick stitch. Have you seen how bricks are put on top of each other in building a house? I'm not talking about the first two rows here, but look at the rest of it. You see these two are next to each other, and on the top row above them, one set bid is between these two. You see this one is exactly in the middle of the two. See, this one is exactly between these two, just on top of them. Or you see this one is exactly between these two just on top of them. Okay, and you see in each row, you see in the beginning, we've started with nine seed beds, right? In the first two rows, we've used nine seed beats. The row above them, which means the third row has only eight seed beds. The next row, which is the fourth row has seven seed beds. And other row that I'm beating right now would be six seed beats. It gets just reduced and reduced and I continue my bidding until I get only to the two seedbeds. So I'll continue the bidding until I get to the two set beats. 4. 3.Starting the Strands: Okay, now I got to the row which I have three set beds in it, and now I want to do the last row here. I take two seat beads. And as you can see on top of here, we only have two threads. You see, I pass my needle through the second thread. And they're in place. And this would be our last row, which we only have two seed beads in it. Now, I want to create a ring with my seed beats so I can attach earring hooks. Now, this time I take five seed beads. Now, you see the thread has came out of the left set bed, so I go through the right seat bed. I come down through two seed beads. Alright. And then from the next two, I go back up. And then again, I pass my needle through all these five set beds that I've just added. Now, my thread has passed through these five set beds twice. Just pass through two or three times. And then through these side set beads, just take your needle to the bottom of your work. They say, I'm going to show you what I did again. I'm going to pass by needle through the side set beads right on the side on the edge. And then I take my needle to the first seabed on the right, or even the left one. It doesn't matter, really. See just you should never just pull your needle out. By force, if you think that it's stuck, you should do it gently. By twisting it. Now, this is my ring that at the end of my work, I'm just going to add Earring hooks. Okay, now I've taken my needle to the bottom part, and now I want to add these vertical rows or the waterfalls. And as I told you before, the upside down triangle can be in a different color from the upper one. Or like this work, the lower triangle would match the same color as the upper one. It totally depends on your own personal taste. No, I just want to do the same color for both. Okay, you see, now what colors that you want to choose and how many of them you want to choose. I totally depends on your own basically personal taste. And as you can see, each color has a shape over here. For example, look at this purple color. I've got five seed beads. For green, I took six seed beads. If you want the width of your color to be more, obviously, you should use more seed beads. You should increase the number or the color that you need the width to be less I want it to be more narrow, you should choose less numbers. S, my dear friends, I got this combination, five of red, five of yellow, two whites, five greens, five purples, two whites, and four orange. This would be my combination. Just like that, I would attach it to the end to the tip of this triangle part. Now I take one set bead with the same color as the end of my rope. It can be different, but I want I prefer it to be the same color. I keep it on the needle and now I pass my needle through all of these set beads, you see all at once. So I pass it through all of these size set bits and plus two of my red set bits on the triangle. See, my dear friends. I pass my needle through two of these red set bids on my triangle as well. See, my dear friends, if I hold this last seat within my hand and I pull my thread, my work would be totally stretched and tightened and properly placed. Now again, from the next two side beats, I come down saying I want to make the second waterfall or the second row. Now, you see for the second row because I want it to become a shape of a diamond. On each row, I add to the number of this seed beads which have the same color as my triangle. You see, over here, I have three white seed beads. But in the next row, it became four set beds. And in the next row, it became five seed beds. You see, each row that I'm moving forward, I add one more seed bed as the same color of my triangle to the whole shape. So the set bed of the first color in each row would be added one number until it gets to the middle row. This is the central middle row. And then from the middle row on, I mean, as we move forward from the middle row, we just decrease one seed bed as the first color. I'm only talking about the first color set bed. It would be decreased by one until I get to the end. The number of the neck seed beds are definitely not changing. You see the rest of the seed beds are just like that. Golden, white, golden white. Then again, two golden white, golden white, and then several black ones. And at last, again, I didn't choose the black set bed. I choose a different color. So it totally depends on your own taste, how many of them you want to use. What colors do you want to use? So it's totally personal. You see? For example, look at this one. Overall, it has two colors of seat beads that they come in parallel lines. Okay, now you see my thread has came out of the second row. So I'm just going to add to my red sea beds one number. In the previous row, I had a five red sea beds, so now I've got to get six red sea beds. And for the rest of the set beds, I go exactly the same as I did in the previous row, the same number in the same order. So I bet all the seabeds just like that with the same order, and then I attach it to my earring. Then I keep one orange seed bed in my needle, and now I pass my needle through all of these seed beds all the way to the top. Just pay attention that your needle goes through all of these seed beds, not from the side of them. I keep the last seat bid in my hand, and then I pull my thread. So I keep moving up, and as I said, I pass my needle through two of these triangle seabeds as well. I hold the set bed on the lower part and I pull my thread. Then I return my needle through the next two seat beds down so I can beat the third rope, the third waterfall. 5. 4.Completing the Strands: Okay, if you remember, as we talked about it, we said the first color would be added one more seed bed to it. So in the previous step, I used six red seed beads, so now this time, I should use seven of them, and the rest of the colors would remain in the same order and the same numbers. So I've just applied and beaded my seed beads into my thread. As I told you, I keep one seed bed in my needle. I come up through all these seed beads. I pass it through two of the triangle set beds. And then I come down from the next two seat bets. I come down from the next two set bits. So now we've got to the middle row. This would be my fifth row which was actually the middle and the central row of my work. As we talked about it, now we should from the middle and the central row we're supposed to decrease the red color seed beds by one number in each row. So in my fifth row, I have nine red seed beads. Therefore, for the next row, it would be eight red seed beads. One after that seven, the one after that six until I get to the last one, which I use five red seed beds in it, and they become symmetrical two by two exactly. It means my last row would be symmetrical to my first row and identical. My dear friends, just don't forget that in each step, just hold your seat bids and pull your thread as hard as you can to tighten up your things, not too hard to rip the thread apart. So the row would be attached to the triangle part completely. So, my dear friends, I just continue this work until the end. And in Itro I decrease the red septs by the number one. Here we've got eight. The next one would be seven. The next one would be six, and the last one would be fine. And as I said, the rest of the colors would just stay as the same number as they were. 6. 5.Attaching the Earring Hooks: Okay, my dear friend, so I finish these rows and these waterfalls shapes. Now I go up from some of these sea beds. Then you see over this thread which I have here on the edge of my work, I tie my knot. I tie 2 knots, and then I cut it from the end. Even after you tie the knot, you can actually move through several sit beds forward, and then there you can cut the thread. Okay, now about the 10 centimeters thread that we've apt in the beginning of our work, I thread the needle with it. And I also take it a few ibts forward. See, my thread is here right now. I go two beds up For two of them, my needle is moving hardly, so I would not risk it, so seed bed would actually break. I just go up from one of them. I passed a needle through the seed bed next to it on the side. I pull the thread very hard, and right here, I tie another knot. Again, I pull my thread strongly and I cut it. With one jump ring, we attach the earring hook to the earring. Now, before I actually close up jump ring, I use one drop of E 8,000 glue on this open part over here. And then I close the jumping ring very strongly. So this glue actually helps me to close jump ring firmly, and it wouldn't open again. And also, my silk thread would not come out of this bridge we have here. We pushed the two ends of our jump ring towards each other, so they would stick together and the thread could not get out of the jump ring anymore. So it would be totally closed. Now, I should give it a 24 hour time so my glue totally dries out. And it actually closes up my jump ring, totally. It's kind of like I've melted these two together and fused them. Obviously, it's not as strong as fusing something, some metals, but it's really close, and it does the job. And it avoids the thread getting out of jump gring my dear friends, even clear epoxy glues or clear UBI glues can be used in jewelry, and whichever one you can get and acquire is good. Like these brands that you're watching right now. Now, these are reusable earrings in different colors. You can see different patterns in the video right now. And also, if you just play with your hands with them, they would totally be straightened out and they would get a better shape. But this one is obviously a bit different comparing to the other three. I mean, the rest of these three RV shapes, but this one has got a steep and parallel lines. So I've got every other color black and gold, blank and gold. I also uploads picture, so you can use it at a pattern map. And you can beat the rows exactly the same way. For example, on the first row, we've got five gold, three blacks as we move on. In the second row, one black, five golds, and so on. So I upload this picture for people who would like to do this pattern. You can also see this. It contains three colors, black, white, and gold.Thise kind of waterfall earrings have a lot of variations and varieties and are really beautiful on your ears. And if you've got any questions, please do ask. If you enjoyed creating these projects, don't forget to leave a rating or a review. The next work which I'm going to teach you is this beautiful, attractive piece of art. Well, you should be definitely with us so you can learn the techniques and its hints completely and thoroughly.
