1. Introduction: Hi everyone. In this course I'm going to teach you how to fold nine origami action models, each with its own unique kind of movement. This is one of the most fun types of origami to fold in this course will cover a Jumping Frog, Drinking Bird, talking Fox. Camera that snaps when you take a picture. And inflatable water bomb. Classic Fortune Teller, also known as a cutie catcher, a wind surfer that you can blow across the table of bellows that can puff air out of the end. And a flapping bird that flaps its wings when he pull on the tail. This is a beginner course, so you don't need any previous experience with origami to be able to fold these. All you need is some paper. Anytime we encounter a new type of fold, I'll walk through it really slowly and as clearly as I can so everyone can follow along. Now, my name is Kevin and I'm an origami artist. I've been folding and designing my own origami for over ten years and I love teaching new people how to fold. I find origami to be a very meditative and fulfilling art form and I'm excited to share it with you. This course is part of a larger series I had on skill share all about origami. I have courses on birds, boats, boxes, flowers, modular origami dollar origami action models and much more. You can find links to all those other courses out in the description of this course and make sure to click follow so you don't miss out on any of my future origami horses. I hope you have so much fun folding these that you want to learn more. But let's get down to folding. I'll see you in the next video.
2. Paper: One of the best parts about origami is you don't need any special tools or expensive supplies to get started. All you need is paper. In each of these videos, I'll be using an ordinary pack of 6-inch origami paper that can be found at most craft stores. It could also be ordered online. Now, can't find origami paper. Pretty much any paper will work. You could try this scrapbooking section. They usually have all sorts of different kinds of paper with patterns and colors. You can also use standard printer paper, newspaper, music paper, pages from an old book, or really any kind of paper, just as long as you cut it down into a square. This origami paper that I'll be using does have a color on one side and white on the other, which is perfect for every one of these action models. But if you only have paper that has the same color on both sides, don't worry, that will still look great. Almost every one of these will still look exactly the same. The only two that will be a little different would be the talking fox in the wind surfer. But these are still both look great if you have the same color on both sides as well. But if you wanted them to look like this, you could try painting one side of the paper or you could glued to different colored sheets together. But no matter what you decide, there are a ton of different options for papers. So I encourage you to get creative and have a lot of fun with it.
3. Windsurfer: In this video, I'm gonna teach you how to fold a wind surfer. This is a really fun one. You set it down on the table and then you can blow on the back of it and it will slide right across the table. And once you learn it, you can make a couple of them and then challenge someone to erase. So let's get started. Now we're going to start with the colored side down. Now will valley fold in half along this diagonal, will bring this right corner over to the left corner. Just hold both those corners in place and then crease it all the way across. And then unfold. Next, we'll bring this top right edge and bring that into lie along that center crease we just made. And make sure it lines up all the way out to that corner on the top. None increase it down. And do the same thing with this edge on the top-left, bringing that into that same center crease. Next, we'll bring this point on the top all the way down to the point on the bottom. Next, we're going to turn this over, flip it top to bottom, so make sure it's oriented like this now. Then we'll bring this edge on the right into the center crease. Then do the same thing with this edge on the left. Next we're gonna take this top flap and we're going to valley fold it down as far as it will go, the valley fold to be right here. This full dot flap down, you'll feel it start to catch. And then right where it starts to catch that. So you'll be making the crease. That's going to be the sale. So we'll just lift that up. And you wanna angle that so it's at a right angle to the rest of it. And then to make it work, you'll just blow air directly on the back right here and then it will just kind of float across any surface you have it on. But we're all done. I hope you have fun with yours. You can make a few of them and have a race with someone. Take some photos, appears and then post them down in the project section. And then I'll see you in the next video.
4. Drinking Bird: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a drinking bird. This one has a little bird on the top and then you can put your fingers on the sides. And then it will dip down to take a drink out of the opening on the other side. You could also just hold it in a vertical direction and then it looks like a woodpecker pecking into a tree. This is a really fun one. So let's get started. We're going to start with the colored side up. And we'll valley fold in half along both of the diagonals spring the top-right corner down to the bottom left corner. This hold those in place and then crease it all the way across. And then unfold and bringing the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. And then increase the no unfold. And then turn the paper over and valley fold it in half along the horizontal and the vertical spring the right edge over to the left edge. Line both of the corners up, increase it all the way across, and then unfold and bring the top edge down to the bottom edge and crease up. And then unfold. Now we're going to form all of those creases at the same time. So we'll bring these opposite corners down to meet the corner and the bottom right. And once those corners meet up, can bring the fourth corner down to meet the other three. Then press it all down firmly and rotate. And you should have this nice square that has two flaps on the right and two flaps on the left. Next we'll bring this bottom right edge into lie along the center vertical crease. We'll do this with just the top flap. Then do the same thing with the flap on the left. Take that bottom left corner into the center crease. And now we're gonna make a valley fold right where these edges are. And we'll do this by swinging the top point down. No, unfold that and then unfold the other two flaps. Next we're going to turn all of this into a pedal fold. So to do that, we'll take this top layer, spread the one layer apart and then we'll valley fold that up right along this crease that we already made. As we do that, these two creases on the inside will start to form. So if we press those creases in and then swing that flap all the way up to the top. Through the rest of this should happen pretty naturally. We already have all of the creases in place for this and it should end up looking like that. Then we'll turn the paper over. And we're going to repeat all that on this side. So bring these edges into the center. And then fold this point down. Then unfolded all and turn that into a pedal fold. Now we're gonna make a book fold. So we'll do that by taking just one flap and will swing it from right to left, just like we're turning the page of a book. And then turn the whole thing over and make another book fold. So there's turn one page. Next we're going to take this flap on the bottom. We're going to swing this one flap all the way up to the top. Next we're gonna take this edge and we're going to bring it into lie along this edge. We're doing this with just the top flap and we're gonna make a valley fold that starts at this point. And then we only need to crease it into the center. So I'll show you what I mean. So will increase that down just to the center there. Then unfold and do the same thing on the left side. And when we do that, those creases should meet in the center. Then we're going to turn that into a rabbit ear. So will fold both of these creases at the same time. Then we're also going to make a valley fold that runs all the way up to this tip. And now that we have this point sticking straight up, we're actually going to mountain fold the whole thing in half. So I'm going to rotate and show you what I mean. You just fold it down like this. And now that point should be sticking straight up. Now you just make sure you have oriented the same way that I do this opening over here. And there's these two little flaps on this side. We're gonna make a little inside reverse fold. So to do that, we're going to valley fold this point down about that much. Then we'll unfold that and now we'll turn that into an inside reverse fold. So we'll open these layers apart and then will swing this point through on the creases that we just made and then close it back up. And now if you look on this side, you should see the openings we have here. We're gonna open that up. There's open one of these pockets. And then if you just press gently on the bottom, so that just stays open. And then I'm going to turn this all the way around. And now to make this bird actually drink, I'm gonna take my left hand and you're gonna go underneath these flaps. I'll show you the other side too. And then with your right hand, I'm going to push that under these two. And we'll press your fingers together. Then you should see the head move and the bird will go down and take a drink. This is a really cool one. Call it a drinking bird. You could also just call it a woodpecker. And we could make it look like it's a tree. I hope yours worked out. Hopefully it you're having fun with it. Take a picture and posted on in the project section so I can see it. And then I will see you in the next video.
5. Jumping Frog: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a Jumping Frog. This is a cute little frog that has a spring on the back and you can set it on the table. And then when you run your finger down its back, it will jump and you can make it do a little flip. This one's really fun. You can make a lot of different games out of it. Or you could try to do some trick shots. You could try to flip it into a cup or off of some ledges. There's a lot of fun you can have with this one. So let's start folding. We're going to start with the colored side down. Now will valley fold in half, will bring this left edge over to the right edge. And make sure both of the corners lineup and I increase it all the way across. Next, we're going to bring this top edge over to the edge on the right, just making a valley fold that bisects this corner. And then unfold. That will bring that top edge over to the edge on the left bisecting this corner. And then unfold. Now I'll turn the whole thing over. Now we're gonna make a valley fold that runs right through the center of that X will bring these two quarters down to line up with where these creases meet the edge of the paper. And then unfold. I will turn that back over. And now we're going to form all of those creases at the same time. So to do that, you'll grab both sides. And then we're going to bring those in towards each other and they'll meet up in the center. As we do that, all those other creases should start to form. And then if we just press everything down symmetrically, it'll form a nice little triangle. Should look like that. Now we're gonna take this edge on the bottom and we'll bring that up to this edge right here. Next we're going to make a valley fold that starts right from this point in the center and it will run out in this direction. And this one doesn't have an exact reference for it. So I'll show you first. And then you can try to mimic it. Should look like that. This one just Affect how large the frog's legs are. So it doesn't have to be exactly like this, but it should be about there. And then we'll do the same thing on the left. You'll want to try to make it symmetrical to the one you made on the right. Next, we're going to take this edge on the left and we're going to bring it into the center. You just imagine there's a crease running directly down the center line. And then you want to lift this leg up to form the crease that's underneath it. And then we'll do the same thing with the edge on the right. Now we'll take this bottom edge and we're going to bring it up to this point in the center. Now this next step is a little bit different. So we're going to be taking this point right here. And we're going to be tugging this out to the right. As we do this, we're gonna make a valley fold that runs from this point right here up to the point in the center. And then there's also going to be a crease that runs from this point out to this corner. So I'll show you what it looks like, then you should be able to follow it. Just like that. Then we want to do the same thing on the left side. So there's swing that point out. Next we're going to form the other two legs. We're gonna take this edge right here and we're going to fold it down until it lines up with this point. And the crease is going to start from the center. Should look about like that. Query starts right from the center. And then we just done this edge lines up right with that point underneath, will do the same thing on the left side. Next we're gonna make a valley fold that runs right through the center and see where that creases. Now we're gonna take this edge and we're gonna fold it down to this edge. And there's a lot of layers here. So let's make sure it goes through all the layers and that they all stay in place as you're folding it. And then turn that over. And you should have this little spring on the back now to make this jump, you just run your finger gently down the back so you'll press lightly and then it will start to compress or the spring is then eventually wants your finger runs off the back of the spring will decompress and the frog will jump and then have some fun with it. Try to make it do a perfect flip. Or you can make it do a double flip.
6. Talking Fox: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a talking thoughts. It has two ears and then it has a mouth. And you just put your fingers on the ends of it and you can open and close the mouth and it looks like it's talking. This one's lots of fun. I hope you like it. Let's get started. Now we're starting with the colored side down. We're going to valley fold in half. So we'll bring this right edge over to the left edge. Let's make sure both of those corners line up and then we'll crease it across. And then unfold. Now will bring the top edge down to the bottom edge increase. So next we're going to bring this right edge into that center crease. Now we'll bring the left edge into that same center crease so it will align with the other edge. Now, next we're going to take this edge on the top flap on the right. And we'll bring it over to this edge on the right side. The same thing on the left side. Now, unfold both of those. And we're going to turn this into a squash fold on the right side. So to do that, we're going to open up just the top layer. And we're going to bring the top layer all the way over to the right side. And if we hold the other layer in place and this area on the top will start to turn into a triangle. We just press that down. It should naturally form into that triangle. This using the creases we made in that previous step. And we'll do the same thing on the left side. Take that top layer, bring it over to the left side and squash that triangle down. Next will turn this over. Now we're going to fold this edge on the right into the center, just reversing this crease that we have to do the same thing on the left side. Next we're going to, with just this top flap, we're going to bring this edge on the bottom right into this edge, right where the colors change. And then we'll turn the whole thing over. And now we're gonna do that same thing, but we'll do it on the left side this time so it matches the flap that's underneath it. And then we'll turn it back over. Next, we're going to make a valley fold and it's going to start right at this point. And it's going to run across all the way out to this corner on the bottom left. This easy to get this wrong because you're going to want to fold the edge all the way up to this edge, but it actually doesn't fold all the way up. So just make sure your crease runs from right here all the way out to the corner. So you start at this point, make a little pinch there and then fold it over out near the corner and make a small pinch there. And then connect those pinches. And it should look like that. Then we're going to turn this over. And we'll do that same thing on this side, but we're starting from this point on the left and going out to the bottom right corner. This should line up with the edge underneath now. Then we can turn that back over. Next, we're going to valley fold this flap up right where the colors change. Then we'll turn it over and do the same thing on this side. Next, we're gonna pick the whole thing up. And if you look at it from the back, there's this pocket. Spread these layers apart, and open up that pocket. And then once you have that open a little bit, look at it from the other side while keeping the pocket open. And we're going to be pressing in on the center here. And then there's going to be these little rounded creases right here. You don't need to press them all the way down, but they should run all the way out to these corners. And then if you just continue, we're going to be bringing it so that these two points can meet each other. So just go slowly the first time you do this. Work the paper from both sides to get it to work just right. And then we have our talking Fox. If you put your fingers in the back, you can make a talk as these two big ears. And you could draw some eye is on right here. Can give it a more Fox like look. Well, I hope you have fun with this one. Take a picture of yours and posted down in the project section so I can see it. And then I'll see you in the next video.
7. Flapping Bird: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a flapping bird. Now this is a really popular traditional model. You hold the tail and then you can talk on that and it will flap its liens. This one looks really, really cool. So let's get down to folding. So we're going to start with the colored side up. Now a valley fold in half along both of the diagonals. So we'll bring this top right corner down to the bottom left corner. Told both of those corners in place and then crease it all the way across and unfold. Numbering the top left corner down to the bottom right corner, and increase that one. And then unfold. And then turn the paper over. Now a valley fold in half along the horizontal and the vertical, bringing the right edge over to the left edge. Make sure both of those corners line up and then crease it all the way across. And then unfold numbering that top edge down to the bottom edge. And increase that down. And then unfold. Next we're going to form all of these creases at the same time. So we'll take these opposite corners and we're going to bring them down to the corner on the bottom right. Once those corners meet on the bottom, then you can take the final corner and press that down to meet the others. Then rotated a little bit and press everything down firmly. And then you should have two flaps on the right and two flaps on the left. Next, we're gonna take this edge on the bottom right and bring it into the center vertical crease. Do this with just the top flap. And do the same thing with edge on the bottom left. Next we're gonna take this point or we're gonna fold it down, making a valley fold that runs right along these edges. And then unfold. And then unfold these two flaps as well. Now we're going to turn all of this into a pedal fold. So to do that, we're gonna take just the top layer. So separate this top layer and valley. Fold it up right along this crease we already made. And as you do that. These two creases inside should start to form. So if you just fold those creases in and then swing the point all the way up as far as it will go. This should all happen pretty naturally. And then you can press everything down. And now turn the paper over. And we'll do all of those steps on this side. Spring the bottom right edge into the center crease. Name at the bottom left. Lamb swing that TOP point down and unfold all of that. And take just this top layer, bring it up and turn all of that into a petal folds. Next we're going to make a book fold. So to do that is take this top flap and fold it from right to left, just like you're turning the page of a book. And then turn the whole thing over and make another book fold. Swing that from right to left. We want to do that with just one. Next we're going to take this flap and we're going to valley fold it up to meet all these other points at the top right along this existing crease. And then turn the paper over and repeat that on this side. Next we're going to take this point that we have. And if you look at this point on the right in the center, we're going to tug that out to the right. And as we do this, some creases are going to swivel around down here. So will tug that out gently. And you'll notice these creases moving on the bottom. You'll want to swivel that around until this edge lies parallel with the edge above it. So all of these edges should line up with each other. And then once they do, you can increase it down firmly. Then you do the same thing on the left side. So look into that point on the left. Took that out a little bit. Whoops. Line all of those edges up and then increase it down. And then up here on the left we're gonna make a small inside reverse fold to form the head. So to do that, spread these two layers apart. And then we're going to swing this top point down. And then once you've swing it down, you can close it back up. Or maybe a couple of new creases. No reference for the head but just fold it down any way you like it so it makes a small head. And now we need to form the wings. So the way I like to do this is to make really light rounded creases. And the crease is going to start from this point right here. And then it's gonna run across this direction and it will end right where all of these edges meet each other. So I'll show you what I mean. We're going to fold this wing down. We'll start at right from this point, but I'm just gonna press really lightly just to get it started. And then you can even curve the wing a little bit just round it. There's a lot of different ways to do this. And you could make a firm creates if you wanted to. But I think it looks really cool with a nice rounded crease. So that this doesn't have to be perfect. This is all done to taste. But I like the nice organic rounded creases. And then we'll turn it over, is do the same thing on this side. Now. Now we're all done with this to get it to flap its wings, you're going to take one of your hands and hold it at the base of the head. And then the other hand is going to grab the base of the tail. And it's tug out really gently the first time that I eventually, the wings will come loose. Then once the wings are loose, you can toggle back and forth literal flap its wings. This is a really fun one. This is one of my favorite action models, and I hope you had a lot of fun folding it. So make sure to take a picture of yours and then post that down in the project section. I love looking at what you're able to create. And then I'll see you in the next video.
8. Waterbomb: In this video, I'm gonna teach you how to fold a water bomb. This is a really fun one. You do all of the steps and you'll get to the end, then it will still be flat. And then for the final step, you blow into the back and it will inflate. And then you could put some water in here and then throw it at someone. But you can only do that a couple of times. The papers I'm gonna hold out too well after that are going to be starting with the colored side up. No a valley fold in half along the horizontal and the vertical. So bringing this right edge over to the left edge, make sure both those corners sign up and then you can use it all the way across. And then unfold. And now bring the top edge down to the bottom edge and crease that unfold. Now turn the paper over. Well valley fold in half along both of the diagonals. So we'll bring this top right corner down to the bottom left corner, increase the corner to corner, and then unfold and bring the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. And then unfolds. Next we're going to form all of these creases at the same time. So to do that, we'll take these edges on the opposite sides and we're going to bring them down to the center on the bottom. As you do that, all the other creases should start to form. Now once those meet on the bottom, the Press This all down symmetrically. I should form a nice little triangle. And you should have two flaps on the right and two flaps on the left. Next, we're going to take this point on the right and we're going to swing it up to the point on the top, will do this with just the top flap. Line it up right at the top, then the increase that. And do the same thing on the left. Swing that up to the top and crease it down. And then turn the whole thing over. Those same steps on this side. So swing bow, so these corners up to that point on the top. Next we're going to take this point on the right and we're going to bring it in right into the center with just the top slab. So bring it out into the center. And then you just want to make sure that this edge becomes parallel with this vertical edge. They're just like that. Then you do the same thing on the left. Then turn it over and repeat those steps on this side. Next, we're gonna take this point on the top there. We're going to swing that down to the center. I'll show you that a little closer. And do the same thing on the left. Next we're gonna take that flap on the right. And we're going to valley fold it right along this edge. And we can do this lightly. Next, we're going to take this point, so will unfold it. And you'll notice there's a small pocket right here. You'll need to open that pocket up. And then we're going to tuck this corner inside of that pocket and then close it all up with that corner tucked inside and then press everything down firmly. Denoting the same thing on the left side. So this crease that lately. Then open the pocket up, press it all down, and then turn the whole thing over, and repeat all of that on this side. So it will fold both of these corners down. Then we'll fold this corner over and then took it inside. Then repeat that on the left. Now, now for the final part, which is the actual action model part of this need to inflate the whole thing. So if you pick it up, you'll notice there is a small opening right here. And you'll need to blow air directly into that opening so you'll put your mouth right over this part of the paper and then flow directly into that hole. Then you should be able to inflate the whole thing. And then we are all done. Now this one is called the water bomb. So there is, using that little hole right there, you could fill it up with water and then throw it or drop it on someone or something. If you do fill it up with water and only work once and then the paper will get soggy and I won't really work anymore. But either way, this is a really fun one to make. I hope you enjoyed it. Take a photo of yours and posted down in the project section, and then I'll see you in the next video.
9. Bellows: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a bellows. A bellows is a little device that you use to blow air onto a fire. So you hold the opposite ends and you can open it and close it and it'll blow little puffs of air out of the point on the end. And this is a pretty easy one to fold. So let's get started. Now we're going to start with the colored side up. And then we'll valley fold in half along both of the diagonals will bring us top-right corner down to the bottom left corner. Make sure those corners line up and then increase it all the way across. And then unfold numbering the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. We can increase that and then unfold. And now turn the paper over. Now a valley, fold it in half along the horizontal and the vertical. So we'll bring this right edge over to the left edge. Both of those corners should line up and then you can increase it down. And then unfold numbering the top edge down to the bottom edge. And we can increase that. And then unfolds. Next we're going to form all of these creases at the same time. So to do that, we'll take opposite corners and then we're going to bring them down to meet each other in this corner on the bottom right. Now once those corners have met, we're going to bring the Fourth Corner, impress that all the way down until it meets the other corners. Press all that down firmly and we should have a nice square here with two flaps on the right and two flaps on the left. Next we're gonna take this edge on the top right and bring it into lie along this center vertical crease. We'll do this with just the top flap that just make sure it lines up all the way up to that top corner, Increase it down. And then do the same thing with this edge on the top left. And then unfold both of those. And now do the same thing with the edge on the bottom right. Bring that into this crease in the center. And same thing with edge on the bottom left. And then unfold both of those. Now we're going to be turning these creases into rabbit ear folds. So if we look at this one on the right, we're going to reform these two valley folds and then we're gonna make a new valley fold that runs from the intersection of those creases out to this corner on the right. So I'll show you what that looks like will form these two creases that we already made. And then as we press those creases together should be able to extend this crease that runs all the way out to that point. And then if you just press it all the way up, we'll end up looking like that. And then this flap, you can push it all the way down, making that crease, then it should be able to swing freely. Will do the same thing with the left side. So form those two creases. Then extend it out to the corner and press it up and then fold it down and then back up. Now turn the whole thing over. And we're going to repeat all of those steps on this side. So we'll bring this edge on the top right into that center crease. Saying what the top-left. And then unfold those. And repeat on the bottom. Then unfold. Now turn those into rabbit ears and fold them both down. Then it should be able to swing freely. Next will pick the whole thing up. And if you hold it on both sides, angle these flaps out at a 90 degree angle to the rest. Then you'll notice the little opening that's right here. When you pull apart on these flaps will open up. And then if you just press it down, a little puff of air will escape out of this hole. Then it should feel just like your stoking the fire. We have a nice fire going. You just hold this up next to it and blow some air on it to keep it going. Oh, this is a really fun one. I hope yours looks great. Take a photo and post it down in the project section, and then I'll see you in the next video.
10. Camera: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a camera. This is a pretty cool little one, has two little flaps that hook onto each other. And then when you press on the back, those flaps build up the tension. And then when you push hard enough, they'll pop off to the sides and there'll be like you're taking a photo. And then you can just put the two little flaps back together and do it again. You can do this lots and lots of times. This one can be lots of fun. So let's get started. We're going to start with the colored side down. Now will valley fold in half along the horizontal and the vertical. So we'll bring this right edge over to the left edge. And on both of those corners up, crease it across. And then unfold. And I'll bring the top edge down to the bottom edge, increase that. And then unfold. Next, we're gonna do what's called a blends fold, which is where you bring all of the four corners into the center. So we'll start on the top rate was bring this corner down into the center of this x. So crease that one down. And we'll do that with the remaining three corners. So we'll do the bottom right, bottom left, in the top left. And now turn the whole thing over. And we're gonna make another blimps fold right here. So I'll bring each of these four corners into the center and just make sure you hold down the center of the paper because as you do this, the flaps underneath might want to pull themselves out. So there's make sure they stay in place and fold these corners into the center. Now, now turn the whole thing over. Now we're gonna make one more blimps fold on this side. So bring each of these corners into the center. Okay, next we're going to turn this over. And we're going to look at just one of these flaps here. A couple of things are going to happen at the same time with this step, but it's pretty simple. So you'll just open up the pockets on both sides right here. And then we're going to swing this point up to this corner on the top. As you do that, the pocket should open up. And then notice press it all down firmly. Then I'll rotate a 180 degrees. And we're gonna do that with this flaps its opposite the one we just did that on. Those repeat the same steps. Should look like that. Now this next step is a bit unusual, but we're going to be taking these corners and we're going to wrap them around to the other side. And to do this, you have to unfold some of the paper. So I'm gonna go really slow, just watch closely. So it unfolds to about right here. And then we're going to be wrapping these corners around to the other side. So if you press right where all these creases are meeting from the other side, they'll kinda pop through naturally to the other side. And then once you've done that, you can close everything up. So it's oriented like this. Now this entire step, you don't make any new creases is all just happens along existing crease lines that we have. Press it all down firmly. Next we're going to fold this whole flap down. Then I'll turn it over. Then we want these two flaps to be able to swing freely, so move them back and forth next. And if we hold just these two flaps where the points are and then bring them towards each other. And you actually want to make them go past each other. They're going to bring them pass each other about this much snow exact reference, but, but right there, if you go too far, it'll be hard to actually make the, the popping sound and make them come apart when you squeeze it at the end. So about this much is pretty good. And then you'll see the remainder of the flap up here. She's going to valley fold that across rate where the edge is. The same thing with the remainder on this flap just folded over. Now, everything should hold itself together. Then our camera is all finished, not for the actual picture taking part of this. You're gonna hold it up and then you're gonna push your thumbs right on the back where the tension is. And then as you press out on the back, eventually, you'll have enough tension to pull these two areas apart and it'll make a little snapping noise just like that. And then you can reuse it. You notice push those flaps back to where they were. Then we have our working camera action model. Now take a photo of your camera and post-doc down in the project section. I'd love to see it. And then I will see you in the next video.
11. Fortune Teller: In this video, we're going to learn how to fold a fortune teller. This is one that's been around for a really long time and a lot of people learned how to fold these back in elementary school. There's a little game you can play with it. I'm typically you iterate, usually would be a color on one of the flaps here. And then you pick the color and then you'd count the number of letters, and then you'd have some numbers on the inside. And then underneath each of the little flaps there would be a fortune. Paul explained the rules a little more if you don't know them at the end of the video. A lot of people might already know how to fold this one, but it's such a popular one. I had to include it in this course. So let's get down to it. So we're going to start with the colored side down. And we'll valley fold in half along the horizontal and the vertical. We'll bring this right edge over to the left edge and make sure both of the corners IN up and then you can increase it down. And then unfold. Numbering the top edge down to the bottom edge. Increase that across. And then unfold. Now we're gonna make a blitz fold. So we're gonna take each of these four corners and bring them into the center of this x. So we'll start with the top right corner, bringing that into the center and crease it down. And then do the same thing with the other three quarters. We'll do the bottom right, and then the bottom left, and then the top left. And now turn the whole thing over. North America. Another blends fold on this side, so we'll bring each of these four corners into the center. Now turn the whole thing over. Next door is going to valley fold in half along both of the diagonals. So I'll take this top right corner and bring it down to the bottom left corner. And then unfold them, bring the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. And then unfold. And now we're going to mountain fold on the horizontal and the vertical. Already have these creases where sought to make sure they're nice and firm. Next will form all of these creases at the same time. So if you just bring all of the four corners down to meet each other, then once you've done that, press it all down. So you have two flaps on the left and two flaps on the right. And now rotate it all the way around. You should have this section on the bottom. And then this part on the top. Now we just need to pull out each of these flaps. So if you look at this little pocket right here, you can open that up. And then there's a light valley fold running right here. We want to turn that into a mountain folds. And then can turn it around and do it with the flap on the other side. And then we have these other two flaps. We need to do that with those as well. And then this is all done. If you put your fingers. So you have one and each of these pockets, then flip over to the other side, you can move it around. So the way this old game works, you would write, Usually on these sides, you would write a color on. There's a lot of different ways to do it, but you could write a color on one of these and say one of them said green. You'd ask the other person to pick a color. They'd pick one. If it's one says green, then you would go G, R, E, E, N. And then these would each have a numbers written on them. And say they would pick one of them, say five, then 12345. And then they would pick another number. Say that one says six. Okay. And then you would lift up the flap where that number was written. Then you'd have different fortunes written here. So that would be their fortune. Then there'd be a different option under each one of these flaps. If you want clarification on those rules, just look up cutie catcher or Fortune Teller. And you'll be able to find a lot of different options for what you could write in there. But I hope you have fun with it. Take a picture of yours and post it down in the project section, and then I'll see you in the next video.
