1. Learn Microsoft PowerPoint Now!: Hi, Welcome to Microsoft PowerPoint, learning the power plant basis. So you're starting out in Microsoft PowerPoint and this is perfect for you. This is what we will cover in the course. How to design slides, templates, and animations, video recording sessions and so much more. So let's learn Microsoft PowerPoint now, and I'll see you inside. 2. Introduction - New PowerPoint Presentation and Templates: Hi, it's Brian Harman. Let's talk about PowerPoint 2019. So the beauty off this course is you can apply this regardless off the versions that you have. So whether it be 2013 or maybe part point, that's the office tree. 65 You can also use or apply the lessons in this course for this. Okay, so now that we have that out of the way, let's just go to using part point. So you have two ways. Either you have it, p. And over here, for example, you could just school straight and click part point. Or you could do a quick search and it's just type in part point to start it up. Okay. And then we have PowerPoint ready. Okay, so not up where? Inside part point. So I could see on top over here, right? We have a couple off. That's a templates over here, so we just go for more teams. And the beauty of this one is it has a lot off ready to use templates for you, and you could just scroll down and a swell over here you could search for online templates . So let's say let's just go for diagrams, for example. Okay. And it's just going to show you a lot off pre made templates for you to use right away in case we have planned girls. Over here, we have spirals. We have a lot in here to just go back and just select different categories in here. But we're not going to be focusing on the use off. 10 plays are teams in here. What we're going to be doing is we're going to focus on creating one from scratch. So to be able to do that, you just go to new over here unless you're select black presentation, and now we have our first light ready to be edited. 3. Tabs, Ribbons and Groups: so before we start editing are part points Night. I know you're itching to go. You want to start creating your slide over here? We need to go first on the top. Over here. So what is this for? So we have tabs over here, right? And then ribbons and groups. So we have tabs on top over here. So we have the home tab. You could see this entire section. So Microsoft has group this into the specific tap, so it's a lot easier to navigate. We have the insert tab. We have the design tab so you could just explore the different taps over here. And the next part is we have iss the ribbon. So we have this entire ribbon over here. Okay, so it's more of a fancy way of showing that this is the specific location or grouping that we have. And the next one is the group. So we have the clipboard group, for example. We have sliced group. We have the fog group, we have paragraph group, and if you just go to different tabs, you would have different groups. A swell. So for review. For example, we have the comments group over here we have the compare group. So the good thing with this oneness, it makes navigating a lot easier. So if we want to tell you to that, say, pick a specific feature in par points that we could say review, go to the comments group and then new comment. Okay, wanting to take note off. Let's go back to the home tab is some of the groups have launched bottoms on the lower right corner. So, for example, over here with the clipboard group, we have this launch bottom over here, okay? And then we also have, let's say, for the front, you have the launch button. So let me just select any text over here. If we select this large bottom, there's gonna be a lot more options. Okay, because what are they for, right? It's more for showing the different options that are possible. Okay, to do it, let's say for the front groups, because Microsoft PowerPoint won't be able to fit everything in inside here because there's just a lot of functionality. So what we have right now is the group's okay. So watch out for does if let's say you want to look for more options. When it comes to editing paragraph, for example, look for the large bottom, and then it could be over there. Okay, and then another nice tip. ISS, for example. If you're looking for a specific feature and you're unable to look for it just goes right here. Okay, you have the lightbulb over here, and it's more of like a quick search off the different features that say, I want to change the font sites and it's able to show you right this specific option over here. And it's the same thing that's going through here and then changing the font size. So you know, it can be overwhelming sometimes on finding the specific functions inside part point. And if you get lost, for example, just go straight here, search for it, and it will give you a matching result. 4. First Slide and Designing the Slide: Okay, Now, let's go to the fun part and get our hands dirty. We're gonna be creating our first line and then start to design the slide in PowerPoint. So over here in the left side, we have the Tom nail. So it's just a quick preview to show you how your slides looked like. So now we just have once, like, but we're gonna be adding more later now, Alexis, let's just go for editing the initial slide that we have so click to add tattle. Okay, so let's click on that and it start typing. Let's say our title is the top five XO formula. It's just think off, one that's a reading by Brian. Okay, so we have our first night pretty easy, okay? And let's try out different teams that we could try out here to even has the design ideas already shown on the right side. But let me just show you the design tap. Let's go straight here, okay? And there's a whole lot off teams over here. Let us select the down our over here, okay? And maybe I'll just pick one random team or design. That looks okay for me. Okay, so just like that, are you could just select different wants a swell. And the nice thing with this one is asked you over around the different designs offered to you right inside PowerPoint. Okay, It shows you a quick preview in the background. You could see it changing, and you could just get a good or quick feel. Okay, if it fits your needs or not. And I say to select this one. Okay, this one looks good as well. And there's also violence off the same team. So if we said like this and say we want it to be green or wrong to be blue, Okay, Are we're happy with the orange just like this. Okay, so it's really nice on how PowerPoint can do this for you, and it just takes a couple of clicks inside the design tap. 5. Home Tab and Updates: Now let's discuss about the hometown. So let's go through to the home tab and what we have here. This are the most commonly used functions in part point. So if you want to look to do something in PowerPoint, the first place to look at would be over here. So let's start to add new slides. Lets go to home slides and their Nuesslein. So if we to like this, okay, it's gonna add one straight here. There's a couple of ways you could also right click anywhere here in the tub nail view and then just select new slide as well. And we have another one. Okay, so it's just a lot of ways that you could use in adding new slight. Now let's go to the second slide. I'll just right click on the turf slide and let me just delete this one. Let's go back to the second slide, and then let's start adding our list off formula. So let's say this is our title, okay? Just a formulas and then our top five. Let's say so. I'm just heading in as we go along. Candidate, enter V. Look up. Okay, account. If an essay end Now we have our five more minutes, so we're good. And the cool thing with this one is we can change the design. Let's say hold on. I don't think this fits. Well, All right, on how I want 2%. So let's go back to the sign and let's go back to the area of options that we have. And let's say like a different one. That's a this one, for example. Or maybe this okay, And it's just a lot of opposites pic. Okay, And the cool thing when this one is, it automatically arranges everything for you. So if your template has a different kind of layout, there's no extra work that needs to be done. It just changes everything for you. You could see right now has a different layout over here. That's compared to a while ago. Let's say let's just select this one and it changes the smell, right? The layout over here and gave you go here it changed its well 6. Buttons: Now let's discuss about buttons that we have in the options are PowerPoint. So let's go back to home. And when we say about on some of them. So, for example, new slide, right. If you select the one on top, it's just gonna add a new slide directly to your part representation. But if we select this one, there's gonna be a whole lot more options that you could select. Okay, so if you notice about ago if you go new slide right, it's just at a use light over here for you. But if, for example, if you want a different type of layout, so let me just right click the lettuce want and select the bottom right off new slide. There's a lot more options that he could use it to say. We want a picture with caption if we want another title slide and just collect that, and we have this straight away. So for bottoms, don't forget to explore. Either you have a one pick option or it provides more options for you. 7. Inserting Pictures: Let's talk about inserting pictures. So this one is just text. So let's spice things up a bit. That's add some more flavor into our apartment presentation. So let's go to insert. Okay, and then there's a lot of options over here. We have pictures, we have online pictures. We have icons treaty models. So I stopped to you on what you want to insert inside your presentation. So, for example, if you have pictures already stored in your computer, you could just select this and then get from your hard drive. But in our example, let's go for online pictures. It's gonna do a like a lot of categories that you could use over here, right? So let's say I want to add the picture off the Microsoft. No, go over here, right? So let's just select this, OK and go insert and it's gonna get it straight from the Web. It's really cool over here. And then you just resize this bet. You could just drag this and make it smaller, so we had to unite as a spell. So once we're good, we just removed that for demo purposes. So we have this one over here and we could just add more. We could just add on my pictures as well. Okay, lets go for Excel, for example. This we're discussing about Excel formulates. Let's go for insert. Okay, that looks good. It's resi status. Well, we're here. Looks a bit big, Okay? And once we have that, okay. And then it's and another picture. Let's say Microsoft Office, for example, type and Microsoft. You could also check the different categories over here, right? If you I want to see what comes out from being so this one looks good. That's a mix of office. Okay? And say I'm happy with this one. Let's go for this, OK? It's recites this well, okay. And once we're good. Let me just did it. This texts and I were good to go. Okay, so we have different ones even just inserted over here. We could also even have treaty Models are icons, so I'll just select one icon by random. Okay, Happy with this alone. And you're gonna add this? I kind of swell. Now, once we have this, we can resize them, and we can rotate this well. So, for example, if we select one of them, you could just make this or turn this around so you could see this icon over here, right? The spiral. I come over here and you could just turn this around anyway. That you want and wanting to take note off is whenever you have an object selected, let's say like images. There's another tab that shows up so I could notice over here that there's a former tab here on top, and there's a lot off powerful options that you could use. So let's go to the former tab. Let's elect a couple off effects that you could just try out. Let's say, just like the picture of style over here, right? You could make it circular. You could make it may be a shadow, right? Or have some borders. You could just play around with it to see how it goes. This one's pretty cool, right? It kind of gives you a floating treaty effect. So there's a lot of options that you could play around inside. The former tab over here, and one of the most commonly used wants is Thedc rap option. So let's go for this image over here and select this right and let's select the crop feature. So let's say for excel we don't need the utter portions off the picture. So I could just drag this and make this smarter. So I just want the Excel part to be the one remaining. Okay, so now, much for good, You just click away and PowerPoint will leave that crop image for you so you could just retires this. And now we just have this specific portion, missus reading eyes. 8. Presentation Mode: Okay, Now, this is where we start to see the fruits of our labor. Okay, so we're gonna go into presentation mold so that we can try out our slideshow and it see how it looks like. So to do that, we have two sides of the moment and it's pretty easy to get started. Just click this button over here, right with slight show, and we'll get a look on how it looks like right now so you can see it in presentation mode . If I go back. If I scroll back here, you can see the 1st 1 I'm just using the arrow keys to move from left to right. And then you can also use the space bar to navigate. For example, I'm using the space bar, or you can use Enter write. It goes to the end of the Slater because it's just too slight. Okay, so there's quite a number of options that he could use. You could just navigate, or if you also have a blue to promote the one that percent our shoes to click from one to another, you could use that as well. And then, once you're done with presentation mode, to escape that you could just press escape. Okay? And if I press that it goes back to our editing mode. 9. Animations Tab: Okay, now what we have is let's go to the second slide and we're gonna be doing the animations. True, the animation tab. Because right now, if I go to presentation Motor, let me just click on this. It just appeared straight away, right for the images for the tax. But if we want some sort off sequence on the order that we want the images to appear, we can use the animations tab to control on how the images are showing one by one. Okay, so I'll just press escape and let's go back to editing mode. So for this one, let's do some rearranging first, just to have someday ing that's better looking. Okay, it's just rearranged this. Let's say let's go back to the picture format, right? And then make it a normal picture, Rotate it's again and put some level off organization to the images. Okay, now it's looking good. Okay, we're happy with this one, and then what I'll do is let's go to the animations tab. So for this 11 important pain that we need to look at for animation ISTEA animation pain over here this election under advanced animation so that it gives us a bird's eye view on what are all off the animations that this slide will be doing. Okay, so the 1st 1 ISS Let's just select Microsoft. Okay, we want something to happen with this image, so there's a lot of animations in here, So if we just open this up, there's a lot of them over here. And let's just pick one, just to see how it looks like if you select bounds so you could see that bouncing motion in here Oh, our If we said like Spin, for example, so does that as well. Okay, so let's just change this and make. It's just a fade effect, but it just shows up, right? So if I go now to presentation mode can just click this so it's not there yet, right? If I click on the mouse or if I select right or anything that will progress to the next step, it will start to show up. So we're gonna be doing this for all of the images. So if we said like this, for example, let's just keep it consistent. I'll select faith so that selected as well as pick fade and then this is swell. Ascetic fate. Now let's have a look. Okay, so we have this four in here, right for the fading effect. If I click on the mouse Microsoft right, then the next one next one and next one. So that's the really nice thing. We part point is there's a lot of things that you could do just to make it more dynamic. OK, because it's not just a set of static images or text, right? You can even do that for tax. For example. If I said like this right, you can also send lechon animation and then it will add over here, right? Take it. See? It's critical. So you just added for all of the tax in here, another thing to take note off ISS. You can also add some sequins when it comes to showing this images over here. So, for example, that say, that's just focus on the 1st 2 images one and two, right, So for one and two. Okay, let's say if you want the two images to appear right away on the first click, we can do that as well. So what I'll do is also like the second image and Then there's this timing group over here . So if we select this is starting clicked, which means if you click on the presentation, then the animation will start. You can also change this to after previous or with previous. Okay, So when we say with previous, then whatever the trigger is for the first image, it will also trigger for the second image, which means they will appear at the same time. So let's just try this with previous okay? And you notice that the number now it's one for both of them, which means they will appear at the same time. Which means there's just one trigger that will trigger their animations. Okay, for both of them. So let's just try to see if I select this. And if I click right, you see the two, you may just showing up right away. And for the rest, it's gonna be one by one for the clicks. Okay, so you can change the sequence A swell. So, for example, that's trial data. One toe also like this image again. Okay, start after previous, which means it will automatically animate this image over here. After the animation of the 1st 1 finishes. So let's try that again. Okay, so I'll just click ones. Let me click now. Okay? I'm not doing anything. And you see that there's a certain delay that happened before the animation of the second image or the XO logo when it appeared, okay? And I didn't need to do anything because I already told PowerPoint. Okay, after you do the animation off Microsoft show the animation off the X a local, and for the rest, it needs my clicked. I'll just continue clicking until everything shows up. Okay, I'll just press the escape so he could see us well over here, right? He could see that it's some sort of time line that happens. You could see that it's one and K for this to images over here, and you could see that there's a get there's a gap in here that after this finishes disagreeing bar finishes. Then the second Hamish will take place. Okay, so that's radical, and you could just chain multiple images or multiple attacks in here, depending on your needs. 10. File Options: Let's talk about file options in PowerPoint. So let's go through the file time right now because we're happy with this presentation. Okay, so once we're good, we want to save this and we just go three to foul, Okay? And then we're able to save this over. Let's click save, and you'll just ask to be browsing for a specific folder that you want to save the set. If I select, browse and inadequate, just save this anywhere in the desktop, right? So I'll just select a stop and then let me say that this is a demo presentation. And what's your good just kick save? And then it will be saved on your hard drive. So that's good for saving. And then what we can do A slow is, Let's say, let's go to file. Let's go to print, okay? And for printing, Okay, you can protest a pdf, so that's what I have right now and then You can also change a couple of settings in the printing section over here. So, for example, it's a Pringle slice. Do you just want to print a couple of plants? This is just the first, or you could just use. Let's say a couple of pages in here. So it's up to you on how you want to print your slight. Another one. This really handy. You can select this section over here in this election over here, and let's say you just want to slide for page right to make it some sort of hand out. So if you're doing a presentation and you want everybody to have a copy, you can put multiple slides in here and then they would just come out in this more compact format. So let's say Let's just select two slides, Okay? So that it's just so I could see a preview over here so that it's more compact, right? And then let's go to print, okay? And let's see, it s a PDF format. So I'll just say this again on that Stop right And then, let's say demo presentation for pdf. I'll just save this and I'll open the pdf so that you can see on how it looks like. So now I have the pdf open, and you could see over here, right, that this one page that we have here. So we have all of the site in here. So it just a lot of settings that you can try out in printing, and it's up to you on how you want to give it its a handout. 11. Closing and Reopening: Now let's talk about closing and reopening our presentation file. So once we're done saving, so we're good to go. Okay, so I'll close par point right now. Let me reopen Power Point over here and opening your files. It's pretty easy. So there's two ways that you could do this. So either you could just go to open over here and they just look for your foul. Or you could also look at the recent ones over here and you could just click on it and it will reopen right away. Came because we touched this a while ago. Just two minutes, right? We just want if I this a while ago and you just open this and it's just pretty easy to see . Okay, so daughter thing ISS pinning It's a good way for you to make this stick on your main screen over here in part point because, for example, if this foul you need to modify this or you need to work on this fairly frequently or it's a very important file to you so that it's safe your time right into himself, searching for it are locating it. You could just pin this right over here. So what I'll do is I'll click this pin. I had him over here, right? And if I scroll up right, there's a pin section over here. So if I select pen, it's always there. Okay, so it's like a sticky, sticky note, in a way. Okay, So whenever you try to look for your most used presentation files, for example, you can pin them. It's a quick reference for you to just go here and then click and your slide will reopen right away. 12. Bonus Tip - Design Ideas: Hi, This is Bryan Hong and we will be discussing about advanced concepts inside Power Points. So there's gonna be a lot of concepts that we are going to cover and we're gonna be having fun with that. For the first one, we will be discussing about the sign ideas. So if you have maybe something like this, right? I'm starting with a picture. I'm still not sure on how the final design would look like the design ideas. It's a great way for you to generate ideas on how to better design or like have a specific layout, for example, off your slides, this is pretty blend, right? And there's no background. What we're gonna be doing. It says go to Home. And an under designer, There's the design ideas. You can also jump to the sign, right? There's also the design ideas over here. So once we have that, let's just pick on it. What it will do is it will generate different types of layouts right then, okay, which one that looks good to you. You can just select it right away. Okay, and there you have it with the design pretty quick, right? So what I'll do is let me just control Z. Let me undo that. So the cool thing with design AVS is it's not likely limited to just one image, for example, let's say, let's just try it out. I'll go to Insert. Then let's say let's go search for online pictures. And let's add another photo and then see how the sign idea of slow react with whatever we'll add in there. So for example, since we're into dogs, or maybe go for a chat, right? And then I'll just select any CAP stands out to me. So add the picture right now is downloading. And then let's see what design ideas will come up with. The good thing with that one is it's generating things, right? That's depending on what it sees on your slides. So now we have two images and you've seen that, okay, design ideas, it won't be perfect all the time, right? This looks a bit weird, but there's gonna be multiple ideas that it's gonna give you. Okay, which one would you prefer, right? So then it saves you work. I mean, it saves you a couple of clicks, right? When it comes to moving them and then assigning, let's say specific it layouts to them. Because for example, this one looks good, but if you want more ideas, you can just click on the bottom. And then there's gonna be more than cool templates. Let's say this one looks good, okay, so you can just select this and it gets applied straight to your slides, okay, so try it out, fight off the different elements as you start adding them, you can see design ideas refresh right away on the right side. And then you can just pick whichever looks great too. 13. Bonus Tip - Templates: Now let's talk about templates. So Templates is a really nice way. If you find yourself doing the same thing, let's say you're creating a new PowerPoint slide, right? And then you are setting up the same way over and over again. Let's say you select a specific team, you change to a specific font. When you do this things attempt, they would come in really handy because it saves you the work of moving this over and over again. You can initially set up this slide, okay, into the way you want it to be, saving this attempt date and then the next time around you can just load it up. And then all the customizations that you have done will be right there. Okay, so to be able to do that and let's just go straight to view. Under master views, there's the Slide Master option. Okay, so let's select this and now you're able to create your own templates in here, okay, So it's really straightforward. And there's a number of customizations that you could do. For example, we have colors, fonts. Let's just try it out, right? And then effects and even Teams over here, you can use a specific team. So for example, let's just select this. This will be your starting point, right? And pretty much you have the different types of layouts over here. And let's say for this one, I wanted to be a different color and not keen with the orange color over here. So if you change that, you can do that. That's a really cool thing. So let's say I'm okay with this, the blue, green color combination. And then you can also change the font. So for example, let's make it into something bigger. Let's say Arial black over here. And I'm pretty much that affects you can change that a SWOT and then pretty much you can customize this. So for example, just to make this unique, Let's make this bigger over here, right? And then the tax, you can also change this over here, and you can also change the font size. So let's make it really big. So it had it stands out. Okay. So you couldn't make it as changes really easy to do, okay? And then once you are happy with this, you can save this. And then save this as a template file so that the next time around we can immediately use this. So aside from making changes here, you can also make changes to the other types of layouts because you can now start reusing this, right when you work on your next set of slides. So that's the really nice thing when it comes to working with templates. Quite a number of layouts that you could use over here. Okay, so for example, if this snout is not useful for you, you don't see yourself using this anytime soon. So I can just right-click here and delete the layer and it gets deleted. You can also insert new layouts as well. So that's really nice, nice to have. And a good Just to continue on with your customizations. Once we're happy with this, what I'll do is let me just close the Master view, right? And then let me just go straight to File. And then you can now save As. And I'll just go for a specific file types. So to be able to do that, That's just go to save us time. Then let's look for the PowerPoint template, which is this one. Once you select this, it will automatically redirect you to the Custom Office Templates folder because this is pretty much the starting point on where PowerPoint will be looking for the ten paste that you have created so that he can also reuse them when it comes to working with you slides in the future. So once we're happy with this, we can just rename this to something better. And let's say this is my new ten blue 10th variable. Now, once we're happy, Let's just go for safe. Okay? And then let's just see what will happen next. What I'll do is I'll go to File and let's just create a new PowerPoint slide over here, right? And then aside from seeing the templates, this RD office templates, the freedoms that you can just use right away. Just go to Personal. And now we can see our new blue template. Since we have saved this inside the right folder. And then the PowerPoint is smart enough to know everything that's in there. And you can use this as well. Now if I selected this right, this is the new template. Once you're happy with this, let's click Create. And now he has a new presentation PowerPoint slide over here. It's now you're seeing your templates. So it's really cool because now if you add a new section over here, just cancel that, right, and then a new slide as well. Okay, then it's gonna be using everything that's inside the template that you have created. Okay, then pretty much if I go to Layout over here, the same thing as swell. It's gonna be using whatever specified inside the templates. So if you find yourself reusing on redoing the same thing over and over again, then strongly consider using a template, right, so that it can save you a lot of time when it comes to working. Starting new PowerPoint slides. 14. Bonus Tip - Animations: Okay, so let's talk about animation. So when it comes to animation, you can pretty much apply this to images or any elements that you're working inside PowerPoint. So for example over here, right, we have this image and I'm going to be sharing with you a simple trick where you can move or animate this image from 1 to another. You're gonna be having it like moving from point a to point B. The cool thing with this technique is once you notice, you can pretty much apply this to multiple images, multiple elements, and you can come up with pretty complex animations. So over here, what we will do right now is let's select this image and just make this smaller so that we can move this. Let's say just something simple. Just move this from here all the way to the right over here. Okay, So that's gonna be point a to point B. Now, once we have this selected, just go straight to animations under the animation group over here. Just open this up. There's gonna be a lot of them, right? But we will be focusing first on the custom path because it gives us a lot of control. And once I have that selected, allergy is like start drawing a line from the center of the image, the way to the right. Okay, So I'm holding my mouse right now and clicking using the left-click. And then I'll just hold this old way. My best effort or drawing a straight line all the way to then, once I'm done, I'll press Enter. You could see the animation tape effect from point a to point B. And you can also see that the line that I have drawn right now, and it will follow pretty much the path that I have set up. I can also double-click on the pattern over here, right? Then you can also make some changes on the settings. Okay, Let's say I'll just make this 0 seconds on the start and the end, right? And then let me just go, kay? And it will just show you on how it will look like. There's gonna be a lot of changes as well that you could try out over here, let's say for the timing, right? And this is the duration. Let's say you want it to be pretty slow or even extremely slow. Let's just try it out. And it's gonna be following the number of seconds, okay, that you have specified on how long it will take for it to move. So we can now apply this technique on pretty much anything. You can combine them together and come up with some cool animations inside part. 15. Bonus Tip - Remove Image Background: So inside PowerPoint, we usually work with a lot of images. And sometimes like for this image, we don't want to use the image background. We wanted to have it removed. One of the nice things with PowerPoint is it also gives you the capability to remove the background of your image in case so that you can place this on top of something else or maybe a different background. So to be able to do this, make sure that you have selected your image. And Vivo now have the tab Picture Format. Once you have that, there's gonna be the option over here, remove background. So I'll just click on it right now. And it's gonna be showing you, okay, this is the stuff that I will be removing as part of your picture. Now, it won't be perfect. That's for sure. So we will need to assist our point in marching the areas, for example. Okay, there's gonna be additional areas that we want to keep. Let's say we want to keep the branch that they're on. And then you could see that there are some parts over here that they're trying to remove that are still part of the picture of birds over here. So we'll mark that area, SFS efforts. So I'll just a circle that over here saying that, okay, keep this part. Okay, so it's gonna be making some minor adjustments. So I think so. I'll just try to assist it. It's not going to be perfect. All right. So let's say I want this background saw mar, the black background to be removed over here. And I'll mark the area to keep. I want the branch over here. So I'll just try to draw as best as I could. Write an area that would keep this one over here. Okay, so you just need to assist PowerPoint. So you won't really know for sure which area that you would want to keep. Okay. So let's try it one more time on the branch over here. Okay, So now that's looking better, right? Same thing as well over here. I want this to be excluded, so I'll just mark this right now and drill and area for the part of the bird. Now, just this branch over here. Now it looks better. Now once we have that, you can just make some additional tweaks as needed. And once you're happy, you can now select key changes. And now we have your image without the background. 16. Bonus Tip - Selection Pane: So now when we're working with multiple elements inside PowerPoint, there's gonna be one way or another, multiple objects being stacked on each other. Sometimes when there's a lot of elements that are there, it's gonna be confusing to find out which element is on top of which element. And then you might have difficulty in trying to rearrange them together. So a cool way for this one. So what we have right now is we have three shapes over here, okay? So you could see that elements are on top of one another with a star being on top, followed by the triangle and followed by our rectangle over here. Well, oval rectangle. What we can do quickly is PowerPoint has this selection pane so that you can quickly see all of the elements and their ordering, okay, on the layering of, on top of each other so that you can quickly reorganize them as you see fit. So to be able to do this, you go to home. Under drawing, there's gonna be a range. We will be selecting the election paint. Now once we have this, you're gonna be seeing all of the elements over here, right? You have the star, so that's triangle. And then you have the rectangle as well over here, they're reading. Nice thing is once you select any element, it's going to be selected for you so that there's no need for you to just try to click. Okay, That's specific element because sometimes it's really hot. And another nice thing is, for example, I want the triangle to be on top, right? Whoops, I have it the other way around. So let's move that there. Now it's gonna be on top of both the triangle and the rectangle. Let's say No, I want the rectangle to be on top, right? And it will just follow whatever order that I have placed over here, painting as well. Okay. Over here, you have the this ability bottom, you can toggle the aswell so that it gets hidden for the rectangle and then it's safer to start right? And then you're left with the triangle. So we'll try it out with the selection pane when it comes to your ordering off layers. 17. Bonus Tip - Photo Slideshow: Now let's talk about for eating instance slideshows inside PowerPoint. So the really nice thing is, okay, if you have a collection of pictures, it's gonna be cumbersome to drag all of the pictures one-by-one phi to position them together, right? And then just to make a slideshow off pictures. But the cool thing with PowerPoint is they had the functionality where you have a folder of images, no problem. Import everything in here and then powerpoint will do the rest. So what I'll do right now is let's go to Insert under images. And then there's this a photo option. Now let's go to new photo album. Once you have that, it's gonna ask for your collection of pictures. So I'll just select the file this over here, insert picture from file or a disk. And then once we have that, I already have a selection of pictures over here. So I'll just select all of them and go for insert. Now we have all of the pictures inside the album. You can have a couple of options like making it all back and fly thrive. Real code we'd colored. And then what is the picture layout? For example, I want two pictures side-by-side. Okay, So which means they're gonna be grouped together for each slide over here, what is the frame shape? Let's say, let's try out the rounded rectangle or you can also try out different ones. And then there's a specific team if you want to apply to your slideshow. Okay, so once we're happy with this one, Let's just go for a create just to see on how it will look like the scaphoid create, right? It's gonna have the title slide with my name on it. And we've just that it was able to generate the slideshow, the photo slideshow. Okay, with two pictures per cent. And since we asked for the rounded edges, it is also applied it to all of the images that I have selected. And it's really cool because in a couple of weeks There's no need for me to drag and start arranging the pictures side-by-side. You only have your set of images and is able to create it immediately for you in case. So give it a shot. Just try out slideshow. The overhear insert photo album for your slideshow needs. 18. Bonus Tip - Creating a Video Recording: Okay, So one thing that I love about PowerPoint is it also has the functionality that allows you to record your presentation and you are the one doing the teaching empathy. You're saying everything you're doing on this nice. They can record it for you. Because previously when I was working with, let's say, working on a presentation and I wanted to have it recorded. The cumbersome thing is there has to be another software that I need to use to record my screen, record my voice, or even their webcam on a video camera. But right now, PowerPoint is able to do it everything inside. So there's no need for you to purchase a separate application, for example, or program or a license. You can do everything inside PowerPoint. So for example, let us say this is our slag right now, and I just wanted to show you quickly on how you can work with recording a presentation right off the bat. So to be able to do that, just go to record over here. Under record, you can select from the beginning, from beginning over here so that it will start from here. And then I can start explaining on what I want to share with my August. So let's do that right now. And we're gonna be going straight here. This is like our mini studio when it comes to recording our presentation, there's quite a number of options. Pretty much this one is used to start the recording. And then pretty much do you want to turn on the video camera? And k are do you want to mute or unmute your mic? And you can even export it later. Once you've finish your recording. It's a slow, then it's going to be showing up over here. And then let's say, let's just try it out. And there's also a number of options that you can make your presentation more engaging by a say, drawing on top of it or highlighting stuff, okay, to emphasize your points. And it's gonna be included as well in your recording. So let's try it up. Now. It's counting now. Hi, I wanted to share with you my favorite pets. Okay, we have this cat over here and this dog, this dog esteemed chunky. His name is chunky and then this grumpy looking cat over here. And let me just draw an arrow to emphasize where he is right now. This a cat named Koko. Okay, so gonna be tapping over and over. And once you're done, they've stopped the record. Now, once you're happy with this one, what's going to do is I'll just press Escape. And let's see on how our recording wouldn't look like. Now you have the harvest well over a year. You could see that too. Then there's gonna be the play bottom. Let's give it a try. I wanted to share with you my favorite pets. Okay. We have this cat over here in this dog. This dog is named chunky. His name is champion in this grumpy looking cat over here and images, girl, an arrow to emphasize where he is right now. Okay, So let me pause that. So pretty much the recording is stored inside the PowerPoint slide, which is really nice. And then what you can do as well as once you have it done. You can also save an export this to a video. For example, let's say you want to upload this to YouTube or you want to have this fair boat right to your peers or to your audience, you can simply export this as a video so that there's no need for them to open this PowerPoint slide anymore. Kate, so have a quick note, had the record function, there's quite a number of things that you can do right inside of PowerPoint. 19. Bonus Tip - Transitions: Now let's talk about our plane. I'm sessions. So when moving from one slide to the next, There's going to be either just a normal moving from one slide and then displaying the next one. But if you want it to be a lot more exciting than transitions would be perfect for this. So what I mean by this is, for example, is focused on this to slide. Right now, we have the first slide as our birds picture over here. And then the second slide, we have our shapes. For example. We want to make it a bit more exciting on how it moves from one slide to the next. Then we just need to go to transitions. And then under the Constitution to this slide, if you open this up, there will be a lot of options. So let's just select one of them. But pretty much there would be three main categories, Subtle, exciting, and then dynamic content. So let's just try out. Let's say push. You can see it now transitioning, right? Then if you miss that specific transition, then it's easy to just click on the preview bottom. And then you can have another look at this transition. Notice that I selected slide number two and then that's where I applied the transition on. So pretty much it will take effect when moving from slide to slide two. So do take note of that. Now we can just play around and then let's say, let's try out the split. You can see it. Take effect immediately. Reveal. Okay, There's the cup, swell. Pretty quick. Random bars. Okay, so there's a lot, let's say, let's just jump over to curtain. You can see the curtains taking place. It's really cool. And then brush. It's like a piece of paper being crumbled, fracture. Then even the wind over here. Let's say this just jump over to dynamic various field. And then we have the conveyor. Here, we have the window. And it's safe Lightroom. There's a lot of transition, so just have fun with it and then just try out each one of them. But there's one specific transition, this specific one that I want to call out, which is more because morph is a really cool transition. Let's say if you want to animate specific elements in your life, right? Normally you would have to go to animations and then maybe grow the costume cat as well to make sure that your elements move from one spot to the next. But morph takes it to the next level. It just saves you a lot of work. Because when you use more, what will happen is PowerPoint will now infer on the movement or the transitions that would result from the first slide to the next. What I mean by that is, for example, let's say we want this star to be larger and then move to a different spot. So what I'll do is let's just duplicate this. I'll right-click the slide and then I'll select duplicate slide. Once I have this duplicated, you can now make the final and state off your preferred transition. So let's say it's going to be like this. It's gonna be a bigger star, right? Let's just add more changes to it. Let's say you wanted to change the color to color red. Now, what I'll do is let me just go to transitions. Then I'll select the Morph transition, which means it's gonna be morphing from this slide to this slide PowerPoint because now infer what are the changes that you have made. And I'll just fill in the blanks with the animations, which is really cool. And it's completely dynamic, it's completely automatic. It up on your end. There's no need for you to do the steps one by one. So if I go for this slide right now, I'll select Preview. You can see it's turning red and is also getting larger and it's moving at the same time. There was no need for me to do the animations one-by-one. That's the really cool thing with more. So a quick example. Let's just go back here. I'll duplicate this slide again. And then let's say we have a presentation where aid we want to focus on the triangle first, Let's say this one. We can just change this to a black color, okay, to remove the emphasis. And then this one a triangle, That's what we want to focus on. Now, once we select the Morph transition, Let's see what's going to happen. I'll select Morph. And then you could see select Preview again. You could see the two shapes now fading out so that you would now have emphasis. That's triangle. You could do that with many elements and make it really cool. There is no need for you to worry about how to transition or due to animations, PowerPoint, we'll do the heavy lifting for you. So try it out, especially morph because it's gonna be taking your transitions to the next level. 20. Bonus Tip - Link to Excel: So one of the cool features in PowerPoint is being able to link back to Excel. So for example, if we wanted to have an Excel chart and then we pasted it inside PowerPoint. Then we can still have a real live link between them, between Excel and PowerPoint. So I'm just gonna show to you or demonstrate what I mean by this. So on the left side, right now I have an Excel chart, a clustered bar chart that I have created over here. So it's pretty much based on this data. We have created a graphical representation of the data so that easy to understand. So for the purposes of this tutorial, I won't be walking through on how I've created this chart over here. But what we want to happen is on the right side, we have a blank slide right now in PowerPoint. And then we want to use this same chart and then paste it over here to our PowerPoint slide. So what I'll do right now, very easy. I'll just right-click on the graph in Excel. And then I'll just jump over to PowerPoint. And then let us say, let's go for pace. Now, when it comes to pasting in powerplant, makes sure that you have the link beta option over here. You could see that there are a couple of options when it comes to pasting, right? I right-clicked and then the paste option would be displayed. Just make sure that you have the link data option and I'll share to you on why this is important. Okay? So right now, okay, this is just for formatting, right? We want to keep the source formatting. Or do you want to use the destination team wishes pretty much hard PowerPoint D, I think this looks a lot cooler. And these are the two options with the link data. So I'll just select this one. Now, once we have our chart in here, let me just make this bigger right now. But what I wanted to share to you the importance of selecting the link Data option over here. Because for example, right now, okay, let's just make some changes. Let's say this is gonna be modified, this is incorrect. Let's say, let's just make this something like 100 over here for ABC Telecom. So you could see the change, like instantly reflect on both the Excel chart over here. It was here a while ago, right? And also with our PowerPoint chart over here, the windup we have pasted and link back to Excel because the cool thing right now is able to reflect the changes that you have done inside your Excel file. It will also take effect to your Power BI, which is really cool because right now you can continue to make changes and you won't have to worry from like copy and then pasting it again inside your PowerPoint slide just to make sure that everything is synchronized or up-to-date. So for example, let's say, I'm going to update this back to, let's say 75 thousand, right? Then you would see this, like this bar appear over here. Same goes for your excellent. That's a really cool. So just make sure to use the link data option and then you won't have to worry about synchronizing it back from your Excel spreadsheet. 21. Bonus Tip - Chart Animations: Okay, So one of the nice things with PowerPoint is for animations. We usually think that, okay, we would animate objects or we would animate texts, for example, inside PowerPoint. But over here as well, we have a chart. You're also able to apply animations to your charts to make sure that okay, attach us the attention of your audience. So what I'll do right now is I'll just select this and then I'll go to animations. Let's say let's just pick any animation that we prefer. So for example, let's just try wipe or maybe let's change to a different one. It could be balanced as well. Okay? Now the other oxygen as well, pretty much you can see the animation being applied to the entire chart as a whole, right? But you have that level of control when it comes to applying effects. So for example, let's go to animations on there D animation group. You have the effect office. So if I select this, you can see different options over here. Right now what we have applied is as one object pretty much for the entire graph over here, right? The selected animation that you have selected will be applied to that. But we can also try it. Like what if It's by series? Let's have a quick look on how it will be applied. And you could see the serious and being like balanced in one by one. And you can see that there are three animations as a result. So let's try out as well element in series. So let us see what's gonna happen, right? You could see each element being balanced in one by one right now. So it's really cool because it allows you the level of control. You can make changes to the order as well, depending on life, how would your presentation flow turn out? Okay, so have fun with this. You can make like more granular and animations to your chart elements inside PowerPoint. 22. Bonus Tip - Smart Art: Okay, So inside PowerPoint as well, if you've heard of smart art before, because it's pretty much used to swell across the different Office applications. So inside PowerPoint, you can also use that as well because it's a really cool way of making sure that your information is presented in the right manner. So for example, we have insert, right? And then under illustrations There's the smart, our option. So I'll just select SmartArt and let us see what options do we have in here. So there's quite a number of their friends SmartArt graphics that you could use. So for example, we have the list, right? There's a lot of ways when it comes to presenting your data and it's a really nice way to get ideas. If, for example, you're stuck and you're not sure how to best present specific topic. There's a lot. We have processes. I'll just select a couple. We could see the order over here. We have the Seigel slow, okay? So we have a lot of ways to represent your data. We have hierarchy. There's even an R-chart. And then hierarchy as well. Then we have relationships. There's a really like a lot of options that you could go for it. You have the matrix as well. We have the pyramid, we have pictures, and then we have more options as needed. So for example, and that's just select one. So I'll just select any one of these, right? Say we have a continuous picture or less, although I don't have pictures right now, but I'll just place and let's say that one. Just type in step two, then step three, and you can continue adding as well. I press Enter and then I'll say step forward. One of the other cool things when it comes to SmartArt is, aside from this, right? You have the automatic generation of elements depending on the information that you have typed in here. There's also not a way, for example, let's say you're not satisfied with the automated generation over here, you want to make specific changes. The really nice thing with smart art piece, you can also ungroup the elements together so that you can make specific changes. Because for example, let's say you've tried using the different options and let's say, I'll go to SmartArt Design, I'll go to the Styles option and just change different colors. Okay? So I'll select this one. But for example, let's say you're not really happy with the color over here and you just want to make those small granular changes so you'd have full control over them. So I'll just right-click on the smart part. Okay, and then under the group option, you can select Ungroup over here. Okay? And let's just make sure, Let's do it again just to make sure if everything's ungrouped. There you go. Now after doing it twice, right? You're now able to make changes to individual elements which you haven't been able to try out before. So for example, let's say I have this selected. And then under the Shape Format break now I'll just select a different fill color. Let's see if I could change this to a different color which I could write. I just went here, I selected this, right? This is the outline color from a lot ago, and this is the fill color, which we could just play around with. I can change the color red right now because I have grouped this and then I have full control on how the elements would look like. So this is pretty much a really cool option in SmartArt that you can play around and see what works best for your presentation. 23. Bonus Tip - Duplicate Items: Now I wanted to share with you a really quick tip when it comes to duplicating items. Because previously when I want to duplicate Adams, I would do this the long way and I would right-click here. Okay, Let's say I want to duplicate the star. I would right-click and click Copy and then right-click again and then use page. For example. We want to paste more stars. It's gonna be doing the same thing over and over again, right-click paste. Or you can also use the keyboard shortcut, Control C to copy and then Control V to paste. So let me just delete this two over here. So for example, if I wanted to duplicate this quickly, there's a faster way to do this. Hold the control key. I'm holding it right now. And then just click on the object that you want to duplicate and then just drag it to a new spot and it will automatically duplicate this for you. So it's really cool. So I'm still holding the Control key and I can just keep on clicking on the star and then drag it to a different phase. And it's just cloning all of this to gather. Okay, so use the Control drag trick to be able to duplicate elements very quickly. 24. Bonus Tip - Ink Equation: Okay, so let's talk about ink equations in PowerPoint. So this is a really cool feature because for example, you have a mathematical presentation. You want to teach something that is met in nature or mathematical, okay, so for example, maybe an algebra question that you want to discuss or a concept. Then you are going to be writing the equation, x-squared plus y-squared equals ten. I'm just making it up. But the challenging thing, because I've encountered this as well before, when it comes to typing up maps related stuff, there are some like exponents, for example, or specific symbols that are pretty hard to type on the keyboard. You need to find out the exact keyboard forgot combination to be able to type it out. And it's just, sometimes it's just time-consuming. So one of the cool things inside PowerPoint it's there is that functionality wearing. You can just draw out the symbols are mathematical equation that you want to be film inside your PowerPoint side. And then the PowerPoint will be able to type it out for you. Okay, so I'll just show it to you quickly. That's go to Insert. And then under seem most, you can just select the equation, right? And then there's already a number of examples over here, right off. Which one would you want to use? But if none of them would apply to your situation, then you just go to ink equation over here. Now, you can start typing in the ink, like the specific equation that you want to be shown. So let's say the one that I mentioned a while ago, let's say x-squared plus y-squared equality. I'll just make up a number, let's say 28. So somehow, let's say PowerPoints wasn't able to understand my number two, so let me just erase that and then I'll write two again so that you can also see that it's very easy to just make changes or night if you see that it's not being interpreted correctly because for me I don't have the best handwriting the world, right? Then you can just simply erase and then just rewrite that specific portion of your equation. Now, once we're good, okay, once this looks good, you just click Insert over here. Okay? And then now you would have your equation right away. So that's really easy. So which means pretty much anything mathematical, right? If you just go to the equation, just go to insert symbols and the equation. And you can now start writing your equation. And then powerpoint will do the hard work for you. 25. Bonus Tip - Screen Recording: Now for PowerPoint, you're also able now to create screen recording. So for example, if you want to record a different application and then just do a quick tutorial or explain something. You can just go straight to PowerPoint and then under Insert, There's the media and you would select Screen Recording. What it will do right now is once I select this, it will just go straight to the previous window that I have opened, which is an Excel chart. So let's say I want to create a tutorial explaining on how I created the excellent chart. And then I'll just start the screen recordings. So let me just select that right now. The radical thing, it just minimize the PowerPoint slide right now and then it jumps straight to the previous window that I have opened over here. So I can just select the area that I want to have recorded. So for example, if you just want a specific area that you want to focus on, then it's very easy. Just select this one and then you can just drag all the way on which is the recording region that you want to focus once you are happy. I also have the record pointer options so that they can also capture on where my mouse is in half the audio option selected. Once we are good, I'll select the record bottom once I started recording. So we press Windows ship cue to stop the recording. Now, I'm explaining though, so it has already recorded a diverse starts. So let's say this is how I created my excellent chart. This is my data table. And then I'll show you the different steps, blah, blah, blah. This is our final result. And now we have our excellent chart. Now I'm done recording. So press Windows Shift cube that's shown a while ago, and it will stop the recording. Once I press that, it will now go back to my PowerPoint presentation and then there is my specific recording. So what I'll do is let me just play this out and then let us see how it sounds like explaining. It has already recorded. That is how I created my excellent charter. Identify people and then our final result. Now we have our Excellent. Let me pause that. And the really nice thing with this one is you could see the entire next screen was recorded and you can also see my mouse movements. So that really helps when it comes to explaining on what I'm trying to portray. The cool thing with this one is it gets saved straight into your PowerPoint slides. So you have that video from your screen recording. The cool thing is it's not just limited to PowerPoint that you are trying to record, but pretty much any application on your computer. And then you can start recording right out of PowerPoint. 26. Bonus Tip - Filler Text: Now let's talk about inserting filler text inside your PowerPoint slides. So for example, let's say I have the need over here that okay, for this specific space, I just want random texts to be filled out over here and I don't really care what the contents would be. I just need this filled out. The perfect way for this is to use something we call Lorem. Over here. We just type in equals lorem and then followed by the open and close parentheses. And then powerpoint will do the work for you by generating random Latin texts and then filling up the entire space. I'll trust anther right now and then let us see what's gonna happen. Once I press enter, you could see that he was able to fill up Latin texts inside our text box over here until everything is filled up. So it's random facts. I don't even know what this means, but it's pretty handy to be able to use this. What I'll do right now as let me just highlight everything and delete this. There's another way as well to generate cooler texts. And you just type in equals rand for pretty much for random. And then open and close parenthesis and press Enter right now. Okay, and now you can see English texts they filled out over here to the Quick Brown Fox jumped over the lazy dog over and over again. Pick, It's a really fast way to have fetal effects. There's also a level of customization. So let me delete this right now. And then let's say I'll type in equals norm again. And then you can also specify inside the open and close parenthesis on the number of paragraphs that you want to generate. So you have that level of control. So for example, okay, I don't want this to be filled up completely, automatically, right? I just want one paragraph of say, random letting texts over here. Then close it with the parenthesis and press Enter. And you just have one paragraph overview in case I'll try it out if you need filler text inside PowerPoint. 27. Bonus Tip - Translate Text: One of the things that you could do inside PowerPoint is being able to translate from one language to another. So that's really cool because it's built-in directly inside PowerPoint. So for example, let's say I have the text over here. I love to teach. So once I'm good with this text, I'll just select to highlight this and just go straight to review. And then we have the language group over here and then select Translate. Now once we select this option, the translator would show up. And then pretty much it's smart enough to determine or make an educated guess on what the source language or the original texts. So it's able to infer that, okay, I think this is English and if this is incorrect, okay? I mean, it's not going to be 100%, right? All the time. You can select a different source language, okay, just make that correction. And then after death, you just select the target language is Arabic right now I could just change this to say, a different language that I prefer. Let's say, I want it to be. I don't even know what languages would be, but let's say, let's just go for Malala. So I'll just select this, okay? And the really cool thing is PowerPoint thus the word for you, okay, right out of the box. And once you're happy with this text, you could just select insert. Once I have this selected right, pretty much be translated. Text gets inserted to my slide. And you could just repeat this process on any other texts that you need to translate it right out of the bumps. 28. Bonus Tip - Add ins: Now let's talk about using add in, inside PowerPoint. So pretty much, I mean, PowerPoint already has a lot of features out of the bus. But there are times were in their specific scenarios that it's not supported. So one of the wastes are easy ways for you to do that is go to Add-ins right now and then search if that specific functionality is provided by a third party AND gate. So which means that if it's free, okay, then that's the best part because there's no need for you to purchase something separate outside PowerPoint. And then you can have that extra functionality inside. So to be able to share to you on the different options we just go to Insert. And then under Advanced, there's the option of gap added. So I'll just say that this is gonna load the different Office Add-ins. There's going to be a store, and then you can just have a quick search over here. So we can either take a search, do a search on the specific feature that you need. You can also have a quick look at the different categories. So in our example right now, I'll just go for best apps off the year. And then let us say, okay, this looks interesting. My application. So let me just go back again. There's gonna be a lot of options over here and you could see the ratings as well. But there's also that no additional purchase may be required. So it might require a payment from your end, but if it's like a free add-in, then you would see something like this. There's no mention of that. So let's say I'm pretty happy with the comic characters. I want to add specific characters to my presentation to make it lightly. Or you can also click on the specific Add-ins so that you can see also a quick description on what it can do and a preview as well on how it would look like. Let's say I'm pretty happy with this one. So I'll just select, add right now. Pretty much the terms and conditions would show up. And once you're happy with this, just click Okay. You just agree, right? And then go for it, continue. Once we're happy with this, then it's going to be added to my PowerPoint. It might take a couple of seconds. You can see at the bottom there's the loading Add-ins. And then once we're done, there, step notification as well. And you can see that there's some new feature that we can select over here. So once we're happy with this, I'll just quickly demonstrate. I'll just select this right now. And you have this option. Now on top off your PowerPoint application. Now there's gonna be the welcome. Okay, I'm happy with this. There's a Quickstart and I could just pick any random like the sign that I want. So different colors as well. Let's say I'm just picking random stuff right now. But it's a really nice way because this is not part of PowerPoint, right? Let's say I wanted to be an outer space over here. And there's a different pulses though on what you can do. Let's say it's raining outer space. And now you have your character. This is out of the box, right? Is this a free add-in that I'm using right now at no additional cost. But you can also check there's a lot of options that you could try out. And it's a really nice way because if you're limited by PowerPoint right now, then you can have a quick note at the adenine so that you can look for additional features, okay, that could be free as well on top of your PowerPoint features. 29. Bonus Tip - Compress Media: Let's talk about compression of media. So for example, if you have a PowerPoint presentation that is video heavy, meaning that we have a lot of videos inside our slides. Then there's gonna be a level of compression that's going to be useful for you so that it makes it easier to transport your file. Or maybe you're going to be sending it or uploading it online to send to call it, then it would save you a lot of time as well. Especially if the level of quality, like the video quality is not really high, or depending on your requirement that it could be lowered so that you can save space. So what I have right now inside this PowerPoint slide, a screen recording that I did from a differentiator burial. This is a video file. To be able to do compression, It's very easy. You just need to go to file over here. And then we'll just jump straight to info and you would see on the compressed media options. So there's gonna be an option for you to save this face and improves playback performance. So right now the size in the media, like for the media files right now, it's 7.3, so let's just try it out. Let's select compressed media. There's going to be lot of options depending on New York quality needs. So for example, let's say let's go for the lowest quality setup we can see, okay, on how big of a size or space savings we can get from the compression. So I'll select that right now. Then it's going to be compressing the media inside the PowerPoint slides. And it's pretty much just 0.3 megabytes that's saved. Now, let me close that so it's now a bit smaller. But imagine if you have more video files inside or bigger videos, It's lengthier videos, then this would come in really handy. Then what you can do is we wanted to compression is completed. We can just go back to your PowerPoint presentation and have a quick look or review of the videos. If the quality is good for you, but if not, then you can simply undo it. So for example, I'll go back again to compress media. And you can undo decompression so that it will just go back to the original size and the original quality that, you know. It's really cool because it allows you to just try it out. And then if it's a mistake, if you feel that it's not up to par to your standards, then you can simply and do this. Okay, so have a look at compressed media. 30. Bonus Tip - Insights: Okay, so let's talk about insights in PowerPoints. So for example, if I have specific texts that I need additional information on, PowerPoint makes it easy to be able to just do the search inside PowerPoint as well. So there's no need for you to jump to your browser and you can do everything inside PowerPoint to be able to do that. Let's say I have a slide that I'm working on right now and I want to discuss about photosynthesis. To be able to do that, I'll just select the text right now. And then go to review. Under insights, select search. Once you select that, more information is going to be retrieved. And you have pretty much the meaning and then information from the web. More articles on the search term that you have placed in. If I scroll further down, you would see multiple images as well. So you can also use them inside your presentation. So I'll just click Copy over here for example. And then I can just go for paste control V. And there you have your image right away. If I scroll down more information as well, if I go two more. You can also restrict your search to say media. For example, under media, it's doing a search under being the images. And then pretty much Creative Commons has been like your filter for this one, which means you can pretty much just use this images. Thanks to the Creative Commons license. It's a really cool way. You can just continue your research. You can even type your search term over here If you need more information. Or you can just select texts from your PowerPoint slides. 31. Bonus Tip - Recovery: Okay, So right inside PowerPoint, there are times where I was unable to save my work, Let's say I forgot it. Or even worse, the computer would crash and I have unsaved work. But the really nice thing with PowerPoint is there is recovery, which means that, Okay, if you're lucky enough and PowerPoint was able to save a copy of your work, then you would be able to get it and then save it and then just continue doing your work. So it would save you time in the process. Now to be able to do that, it's very easy. Just go to File and then go to Open. Once you select that, you would see the recover unsaved presentations option. And I'll select that right now. You would see multiple temp files on what powerpoint has saved while you were working on different slides. The caveat on this one is there's no easy like preview options. So you would need to open the files one-by-one to see if your PowerPoint slide is in there. If it's there, then it's very easy once you have it open, you can just quickly save it, so it up, you would have a copy it now. But if not, then there's no choice for you but to reduce that loss, loss inside PowerPoint. So just go to that option and you can have a quick look on the temp files that our point was able to save for you. 32.
