1. Welcome to the Course!: Ola, soy flour is soit professore, the spanon and I am your Spanish teacher. The course objectives are to get lessons from a professional teacher, that is me, to learn basic grammar points, to get a better understanding of the language, pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, to be able to speak basic everyday conversations in Spanish, to know more about the culture and pronunciation and accents, and to get practice to improve your learning. I personally designed a set of PDFs with workbooks, vocabulary lists, progress tests for you to practice whatever we see in this course. So what does this learning involve? The lessons follow a structure that I personally designed from basic phrases to a full dialogue in Spanish and texts. Watch the lessons, post the videos, to write down notes and practice. I also designed video lessons with practice for you to do after each module. Every lesson has practice, and I also included interactive activities that I designed and that they are free to use after you watch the video lessons. Download the workbooks to get all the course notes, practice, progress test, and vocabulary lists. And finally, write questions in the comments. This course includes ten modules with all the contents for the A one level in Spanish. So you're going to learn all the basic stuff to get your Spanish going. Vamos aconsa NovemosE El Curzo I'll see you in the course. 2. BONUS The Alphabet in Spanish: Quickly. Let's continue with the alphabet, Alphabeto. I'm going to show you the letters. I'm going to pronounce them, and then I'm going to say a word that has that letter. What you can do is you can pause the video if you want to say the word out loud, or you can listen to all the sounds and then go back and watch it again and say the words as you wish. You can always pause the video at any time. So let's get started. The first one is as in avion B banana. Se Casa, we're going to see further on in these lessons how to pronounce the letter C because it has different pronunciations according to the letter that follows. But in this one is Casa floor, K Gatto ace aa. What's interesting about this about the letter H is that we don't pronounce it in many of the words like ao, we don't pronounce it. We have to write it, but we don't say it, right? Only when it's after C, we do pronounce one. So let's continue. Ace aaEuanaHt Huegoa Kiwi, E Lavar Narang, N manana. This is a letter that's not common in, for example, the English language. There are a few words that have this letter, but it's Nia. If you can think of this sound, that's NOsara or Iarra. There are two different pronunciations for letter eta Zd as we are going to see later. So Rosa. Don't worry about rolling those Rs. We're going to have a look at some of the pronunciation of the different words with R. So don't worry. This requires practice. And if it's not in your language, you don't have the sound, don't worry. You can practice. And as long as you can make a little bit, it's fine. Don't worry. Don't stress out if you can make it now. It's just rolling your tongue. You can practice this sound, and then eventually you will get it. But don't worry if you cannot make it right now. Ese salida, e travajoOa vida, double V, waterpolo, Equis sloponigriega, Yoga, or soga. Eta, zapato or zapato. In Spain, they will pronounce the eta as zapato. In the rest of the Spanish speaking countries, zapato is more common. I don't I usually pronounce zapato Sar Agosa. I pronounce it that way. But if you travel to Spain, you'll hear a different pronunciation. So let's revise all the letters. So I'm going to say all of them, I'm going to set the first column and then you can pause and repeat or you can just listen to it. Okay? So I'm going to start with a the A hot N NOO Equis Igriega eta. The letter is also pronounced ve in Spain. I pronounce Doble, but you may hear this different pronunciation. I'm going to leave a list below this video so you can download all the alphabet with these words and how to pronounce each letter. Don't worry about that. You can pause the video if you want to practice a little bit more, we're going to continue with a acentosT is very interesting. I really like acentos in Spanish, and I think you should also be exposed to many accents as possible. What is acento? Accent is a way of pronouncing words. Yes, we all have an accent. I have an accent in English. I have an accent in Spanish, and in any other language that I want to learn. Identify the accent you like and talk to people that speak with that accent. If you're traveling to, let's say, Spain or you're traveling to Mexico or you're traveling to Argentina, just try to connect with those people or watch videos, listen to podcasts, and try to understand their accent. Be in contact with it as much as possible. Always, practice using it and get feedback in order to pronounce it better. Listen to people with different accents because that will give you a wider understanding of the language and you will learn different pronunciations and how that people speak in different countries. I always recommend my students to listen to different types of music if they're into music or watch different types of TV series from Mexico or videos. There are plenty of videos on YouTube. People talk about their own country, traveling, cooking, whatever you're into. Try to listen to that from different people, okay? So be exposed to different accents and practice. So these are acento, a way of pronouncing. So what are dialects, Dielectos? A dialect is a form in which we speak a language in a particular part of a country. Yes, by a particular group of people, and it contains some words, grammar or pronunciations that are different from the forms used in other parts or by other groups. So this is a form in which we speak a language. So remember, acentos is a way of pronouncing words, and dialects is a form in which we speak a language. And now this is important when you are learning. There isn't a correct or proper one. I always remind this to my students, maybe they think, Oh, Spanish from Spain is the right one. There is no right Spanish language or Spanish dialect or Spanish accent. You can learn from different countries and each country and within each country, there will be a different dialect. And it's not the correct or the proper. It's like British English. Well, that's not the proper way of speaking. That's one way. There are other ways like Australian English, New Zealand, English. So it's the same in Spanish, okay? So remember there isn't a correct or proper one. So my accent, which one is my accent? Is the Argentinian accent. You probably have heard the word that we used to say. So my accent is Rio platense from Argentina because in Argentina, you have different dialects as well and different accents. Mine is from Buenos Aires. I use vos instead of two. So these are forms of singular All right. We're going to see that later on in the videos. And many times I say during the day. Yes, I do. I still do, and I'm going to teach you in a neutral way, yes, we're going to see two and we're going to see both. We're going to see both. You get a bit of let's say, Latin American and Argentina. Especially Argentina, you can say Vos or you can say two. In my lessons, I usually use two with my students because they usually travel to Spain, to Mexico, to Costa Rica and so they are going to use two more than Vos. But you can use either and it's fine. This is for you to know. I am from Buenos Aires Argentina and I'm going to use that accent in my lessons. Remember, be exposed to different accents, listen to as much as possible, so you can improve Spanish faster and in a more fun way. I'll see you in the next lesson. 3. BONUS The Alphabet in Spanish II: In this first lesson, we're going to see Ella bcdarioElFabeto, the alphabet in Spanish and acentos accents in Spanish. I'm going to talk about a little bit about accents when you are learning Spanish for the first time and explain my own accent. So let's get started with the countries that have Spanish as an official language. So as you can see, you have countries like Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Argentina, which is where I come from. We all have Spanish as an official language. And as you can see here in the map, we have all the countries Bel, Honduras, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and there are four countries like Andorra, is, Gibraltar, tallo unidos. Spanish has no official recognition, but the language holds a special status and it's spoken by a large portion of the population. So Spanish is spoken there, although it's not the official language. 4. BONUS Consonants in Spanish : In this video lesson, we're going to see niaon the syllabus, how to pronounce different syllables in Spanish that I found are tricky for beginner students. This is from my own experience teaching Spanish online. So I put together a few syllables that students are always struggling. So we're going to start with different consonants first, like, the difference between these two, see eta ache He Hot because in Spanish, we also have R and double L. Then words with Palabras Equis we're going to see how to pronounce these words in Spanish because we have some words are not very common, but we do have them, just for you to know how we normally say it. I want to try to speak as normal as possible without being a teacher so much so you can hear how we speak, all right? The good thing about the letters before we continue is that we pronounce each letter of the alphabet or each word, as we say it, for example, B, it doesn't have any other pronunciation. It's always that. If we have, for example, as we can see here, banana, A, it's always A. So together with B is banana. We don't change the pronunciations as it may happen, for example, in English, where if you combine different vowels, they'll have a different sound. It's not the same in Spanish. We pronounce the words and the syllables as they are in the alphabet, all right? Bebe, that's another word. You probably know it's baby, Banco, arable, abajo. And then look at the difference with vaca, vivid, vacaciones, lava, vivienda. So these are like for you to pay attention to the differences, banana, vaca, Bb vivid Banco vacaciones. Now, you will notice probably if you have traveled to any Spanish speaking countries, sometimes people do not make such a big distinction between these two letters, so they may say vaca Vivid vacaciones, it's not very marked. It's not that they don't know how to say it. It's just like this pronunciation is sometimes kind of, like, not as strong as we are learning now, but I think it's a good idea to always kind of, like, exaggerate a little bit when you are learning for the first time, so then you'll remember better. But you'll notice sometimes that in some places, in some countries or cities, they don't make a big difference between these two consonants. Another word that has two of them, vibora vibora. You can pose a video here. I'll continue with the next consonants. We have three, se eta. So here we have a few words, calcetin, Casola, cintura, ser, salsa, silencio, Soga, Silbar apato solo Rico, alcanzar, avanzar. These are the words that you can also say apto, Solo hico cantar, Avanar. If you go to Spain, they'll probably say they use this pronunciation, apto Solo hico. If you go to the rest of the Spanish countries, they'll probably say apto solo hico alcanzar, avanzar. As you can see, the words that, for example, are calcetin, I say calcetin, Cazola. It's different when you have after se, you say C. But if you have A, we say se. Altero. Then we have se and I say salsa, Sova Silva. That's why I was telling you in the previous video to listen to different accents. So you'll hear how they pronounce the words, let's say, in Spain, in Buenos Aires and you'll notice these differences, and then you'll get a better perspective. So you can pose the video here if you want to say the words out loud or if you want to write their meanings. Let's continue with the next two consonants. Ace se ace So as I said before, we don't pronounce ache H when it's at the beginning. We say no, a aura, ho ai hada. I know this might be a tricky word. So this is ho Aida. So this is a hada Aida, and then we can also say aadoGtsn. Let's continue with the other ones. Chocul E cha, echo, techo. Ocho, Chef. So whenever you have the C and the H, se ache you always say Ar. It doesn't matter what it is in the sentence. So here we have cho, cha, che. Okay. So it's chocolechae cho, techo, ocho, chef. So these are words with ache H. Again, you can pause the video here as it says here down below, and I will continue with the next set. So here we have Hota. So we have the word Gato, guitarra, Goma, agars, aujo. So I choose difficult words. So here we have a go, gar, Gua. And here we don't say agujo. We say Agedo. This is almost not pronounced. So if you see this word and you say ago, people will be so surprised because it's a difficult word to say for beginners, especially for learners that it's the first time learning. This is a tough one. As you can see, we have H here at we don't pronounce Agar. And then aa. Okay. So yes, it's different. We say Gi, we don't say Gui, because when we have these three letters together, they have a different pronunciation that we're going to see later on. So we have Gao, guitarra Goma Agarwa Augero. Let's see hote ajedrez Jose, HuoHnt. So this is more like, okay. So you say ahdres he ho Hue because this is like, hohuoHnte. Okay. So people when they are speaking very fast, especially natives, obviously, they may say, for example, Jose Huge. They don't pronounce it that much, but because we're learning, I would advise you to exaggerate a little bit and say, Jose, try to make it sound strong. Then it will be easier when you are talking in a conversation, right? Now, words that have the two of them. So we have Hugee, huga Hugo. All right, so Hugee hugahugo. So here, I would recommend you to pause this video. If you want to practice, I'll go back and listen to these words again and we'll continue with the next set. So this is griega. So here I'm going to pronounce in two different ways because these two letters are pronounced differently. So I'm going to pronounce the way I would say it in Argentina and in many other parts of Latin America, and then the way that it would pronounce it would be pronounced in Spain and in many parts of Latin America. So I'm going to say how Yo. He Junk, Shema, yemas Ayuda, have Ja Shuba, Yuba, have, Job Shamar Yamar Alcantara, Alcantara. As you can see, the Igriga and the Dabo they could be pronounced as especially in Argentina and in many other parts of South America, Latin America, or they could be pronounced as a Y jab. So what I recommend is that you choose the pronunciation that you're going to be more in contact with. Let's say you have a teacher from Spain, well, you probably will say Yo ya, jab Yuba. But if you have a teacher from Argentina, maybe the teacher will say ho have Juba. Or maybe for you, it's easier to say Jab than jab. So this is your preference. Both pronunciations are correct. It's just a different way of saying in different countries. It's not that one is better than the other. Maybe one is easier for you than other. So I recommend that you choose the one that you feel, it comes more naturally. Okay? So this is a pronunciation of Doble Igrigar be or it could be a. So you can pause the video if you want to practice again and let's continue with the next set of words. So here we have double re. A good thing to practice, this is to say, try to get this sound first if you want to practice, and it's also good to relax maybe your tongue. So you can say and try to practice this sound. I'm going to pronounce some of the words and you'll notice how the re is pronounced differently according to where it is in a word. So the first one is Adoma Ara huedo. Porta Puerta. As you can see, we don't say aroma. We say aroma, para, quedo. The R is not that strong. We say the aroma para, quedo, Corta Puerta. Maybe here is a bit more Corta All the words or all the verbs ending R, and they're pronounced Corta Bb Vivid, it's a bit more it's a bit stronger. Let's see the next set. Rosa, Rubio, Risa, red, avia Ruido. So when the R is at the beginning, it's always as you can see, Rou, ra, Rui. And here we have two vowels together, which is possible in Spanish. So we say Ruido. All right. So when it's at the beginning, it's always strong. Now the next set of words, arriva, guitarra, roba, Parisa, paria both doubles, you know, it can be pronounced in different ways. AR Arf. So when you have the double, the double R is always Ariba, guitarra, roba Parisa, Paris, Aos. So this might take a bit longer, so you can pause the video here and practice saying these letters, take your time. This could be a bit harder if you have never pronounced these letters in your language, so don't worry about it. Little by little, you'll see you'll get there. So let's continue with the next three letters that it's palabras con Es words with X. So we say coxis LexicoFlexiona, toxico X, anxo boxiar omara xenophobia. So as you can see, if the exits at the beginning, we usually don't mark it as. We say omara xenophobia. We don't say xenophobia, we say xenophobia. And then if it's in the middle, we say coxis Lexicos like it's the same sound, flexionar toxico X, AnxoFoxia. All right. Again, you can pause this video now if you want to write it down. Let's see the next one, it's Palabra conble WiFi web, show Walter Kiwi Taiwan. So these are the words Walter, Kiwi, Taiwan, Show web Wifi. Sometimes people say WiFi, but, you know, you can hear WiFi as well, because we pronounce the letters as they appear. So WiFi. And let's see the last one, Palabras Conca words with K, Kiwi Karate, Kiosko, Kilo Metro, Kilo Gramo, Kung fu, and here you can see in Spanish, we also have this, let's say, little mark that it's called Tilde and that means that the word has to be pronounced stronger here, Kilo metro Kung fu. This is called Tile. I'm going to leave a link below so then you can read a bit more about that. But it's also to mark that word, you pronounce it stronger than the rest of the other syllables. These are all the words we have for this lesson. We're going to continue with more syllables. Next videos. I'll see you there. 5. BONUS Consonants in Spanish II: Second part, we're going to continue with pronuncia on the syllabus, syllable pronunciations. And remember this is from my experience. So we're going to talk about syllables like a C K, S, cha, che, hi ho Hu, G, gue, Gui, K, K. So as you can see, there is a difference between the here. So when we have these two dots called DRSs, what we have to do is pronounce it. So here we say ge we don't pronounce U, but here we say Gue we pronounce. That is to mark we have to pronounce. Okay? So we're going to see sets of words, and as usual, you will listen, you can repeat after me, and then you can pause the video and continue the practice. Let's start with the first part, which is a, Co. Every time you have SO, say Oh, you always say Ka cook. Here we have words like Casa acaba OcaonKal acampar. Then you have words like Corazon, Corathon, Colombia, costumbre, Banco polaco. And then with Cubo, Cubo, cuchillo, Cucijocupa Ocupaon. This is always the sound. C, C, C. Excellent. I think this one is easier. Anyway, you can pause the video and let's continue with the next two, which are S C. We say words like Sloso ace, sevoja, sevoa Celebra Dulce. CLO, tocino, CN 100, Cosina decimal. So here is Soeleb ClO. So we pronounce three or the two vowels, CAN All right, Dl se so again, you can pause the video if you want. Let's continue with the next set of words. This is cha che ho. So we say haketa. So here you have a Cu haketa, charlar, havacano, ficha, echar, chef, Cheche, coche noche, Broch. Chiste, chico, ebi chiles, chiless. Chocolate, chofer, chocar, chopete and chuffe choleta. These are words with say a che always pronounced like this way. Again, you can pause the video, so you can pronounce the words. Let's continue with the next one, which are ge Gi. Here we say ge ge Gi, juguete Guerra, Caragan. Guitar, gio Gunda. It's always good they sound. Whenever you have Hey, oh, A, G he oh, E G. All right. The easier word to remember and you'll probably see it many times is guitarra. And then JugeteTy. You'll see this one a lot. So you can pose the video here if you want to practice. Let's continue with the other ones with the one where we pronounce the Ooh. So we have GueGui. Remember. Every time you have the dots, you say, Oh, GueGui. Anti wa, bilingue Verenza or Verena linguistica pinuino. We always pronounce the U when we have the two dots, Linguistica pingino. As a video if you need more practice, let's continue with the next set. This is K, K, the last one. Always, you have a, you say K. Always, you'll have E is Kb. You will never have co never ever B, A, or O, we say Pecheno take, Pete. Kiero here you have three vowels together, but we pronounce Kiero mosquito, quito, Kira, a key. As you can see, we have a tile we say a key. We don't say a key, a key. This is always key Pekeno Kiero. And as you can see, we don't say Kero. We say Kero. All right. So again, you can pause the video if you want to practice. This was the last set of pronunciation. You can always go back to these lessons if you need more practice. You can write them down and say them during your day. If you're taking lessons, you can ask a teacher if she can correct your pronunciation, or you can write questions below this video if you have any doubts, and I'll reply to your comments. So let's continue with Module one. 6. Practice Pronunciation: So this is the last part on do. What we're gonna do is I'm going to read the words and I'm gonna wait for you to repeat after me. Okay? I'm gonna do it once on if you want. You can go back under this exercise again. Remember, try to exaggerate. Because if you get it now, if you practice saying it out loud on if you repeat this, then we will make it will make it easier. Okay? When you have to speak naturally in a conversation. So let's get started. So when I read from left to right. Okay. So the first line would be Munyon DNA, but it'll faced sorta a spaniel via hod Adam. I know only very See Dad. Prima vera for the year. Barnicle Cielo sap Battle s Creavy siesta More seeker invierno layer this breasts, Gans young day can Goudeau they levies yon esto the on them day bacon. You okay? Some of the words here on the second line. I said the word era, man. Oh, and this is something for you to remember. The letter hate at in Spanish when it's the first letter off the word it's never pronounced . Yeah, we don't say had a manual. We say Adam Mono, Remember the word ola the recent hate there? But we don't pronounce. We don't say hola. We say Ola. So when the When the word starts with eight at, we never pronounce another thing for you it's on the 3rd 9 We have the words Barak. Oh, Cielo. And then we have the work SAPA, tau shoe, SAPA tau. So in Spain, they will probably say that plateau that bateaux as if it's like that. They pronounce it differently, they say. But in other countries, which is, say SAPA tau Okay, we pronounce a Zied as s the same pronunciation. But if you traveled to Spain, you'll probably hear people saying words like Espanol SAPA tau jlo esque revealed so they will pronounce it differently. Okay, Another thing that I wanted to say it's on the last line were used where you have television phone still young. The okay, It's a word that we use when we want to call somebody, especially in and candy Now, is eight a like saying Hey, I'm talking to you and it's very common. It's very informal, Andi, it's just for you to know you probably have heard it before. So those are the words? My recommendation is that you practice saying these words practice spending, spell your name. Spell your I don't know your wife, your husband, your Children's name. So try to spell as many names as you can. Try to memorize the alphabet and try to read new words out loud. So if you're looking for words in a dictionary, just try to either listen to them. Now you can do it on Google. So if you look up a word on Google, you will also be able to listen to it. So my recommendation is that you always repeat the new words out loud. Okay. At least 12 or three times. And so then you will memorize it easily. Andi, if you want to know what these words mean, have a look at the two teat. Andi, I have a list with all the words and their definitions in English. Okay. Hope you have enjoyed the first part of these slights. I'll see you on fast one 7. Module 1 - Greetings in Spanish: All right, let's start with Module one. So in this module, we're going to see greetings, nationalities and countries. We're going to see how to introduce ourselves and a few phrases that you can use when you meet someone for the first time. So let's get started. Saludos, these are greetings, saludos. But we can say, Ola, Buena TheasenTares, buena noches. So here you have the three moments of the day dias morning, Tardes, afternoon, noches night. So we don't say it only to go to bed. We also say when we meet somebody when we were leaving, we can say WanchsO when we're going into a restaurant, we can say Wantes to the person that's there to receive us. So we say, O buena Dias tardes, Buena noches. KestasKtal. So these are two ways to ask, how are you? CestasKtalN to movim gracias. So we can say, good, and you I MovanGracis. Very well. Thank you. So let's see a dialogue, a mini dialogue. Oiasestas Ola, movimGracias. Tal Ourasestas Movie gracias. Here we have short conversations that you can use or you can say and you can practice. These are very simple and we all say them all the time. So we always say, O, Keta, comestas. They are all to ask, how are you? And then to answer Very good or MVNO just Ben gracias. If you want to ask, you say, It. You can also say it costas you can mix them. All right. But we mainly use these ones here. This is a good start. Okay? So let's continue. Presenters, this is Introduce yourself. So we say Ola, SoFlonzia, which is my name, Mesa of Florencia, Mamo Florencia. Remember the double L. You can say Mamo Mamo Florencia, Mure Florencia. There are three ways to say your name. This is Am Florencia, and these two, my name is Florencia. All right, Mure Florencia. Mamo Mamo. So you can choose. And then you can ask the other person, what's your name? You'll say Cote jamas, Comte yamasmbre, what's your name? So two ways teams, Cote llamas, tombre All right. One sir, you'll say any of these three. Alone Florencia u QuantoanTs. Here we have CU remember, QuantoanoTs engo the number, which we're going to see now, Anios. For the years, we always say this phrase. There isn't any other phrase. We say tengo AniosTengo trenta 30, Guarnta 40, tengo Anios the only way of saying we usually ask in this way, Quantoans Tiens. Done. Soy Dargentina. When somebody ask, where are you from, D done Hees, we always say So the I am from So Dargentina. So Argentina, if you want to say your nationality, so Argentina. We always use soy because I'm talking about me, So Argentina. So remember, I am there. I'm from Tengo As I am years old. So these are phrases to remember. They're very simple, but we usually ask this, if you are checking in a hotel or somebody ask, remember these are the most common phrases to introduce yourself. So you can pose a video if you want to practice these ones, but you'll see all the information in the workbook, right? Let's continue Piss countries. So I'm going to say the countries as they are said in Spanish, right? So we have Argentina. Remember letter G, Argentina, Tina. Remember, China, Italia, India, Thailandia, cosia, Inglaterra, cavar Inglaterra, Estado uidos Marcos, Davar, again. You can also say Los Estadounidos, the United States or just United States, Estado unidos. Both options are correct. The same with India. You can say La India, India. Now let's see Nasional Dads Nacional dad nationalities. Argentino Argentina. And here you can see I wrote M and F, F. This is for masculino male. This is eminoFemale. So if you're talking about a girl, you will say Argentina. So Argentina. If you are a man, you say Argentino. So the nationalities will depend on the gender, MaculinoFemino. Chino China. You can say ihinoZiina Italiano, Italiana Indio India, Tailands Thailanda. Now, here it changes because it's Tailands. To make it feminine, we are a Thailand TailandaZEss, Soy cosa, right? Here again, Tilde this is pronounced stronger Ecoses. Less inglesa. If you are a woman, you will say Soiglesa. If you are a man, you'll say soy Igles. Now, Estado sunidos is tricky, is Estado idense. So we say Estado unidos, but altogether, Estado NdensZEN then se Estado Ndense. Some people also say Americano Es americano, soy Americano, but we usually say Estado dense. All right? Mochi. Soy Mochi. So as you can see, there are a few rules with some countries we say argentino, Argentina, Gino, China. So others are Eco, Ecosaleglesa, and then some others, they are the same word for both Maculinomnino, Es tadondenz Mochi. Soy Mochi. All right. Very good. Let's continue. 8. Module 1 - Numbers in Spanish: Numeos. So here, I'm going to show you ten numbers, and then I'm going to say the numbers. You can pause and repeat or you can continue with all the numbers 1-100. So numeros again till here, so I pronounce it stronger Numeeros. So you probably know this first ten. We say, unos Quatro sco says it ocho, nueve, ds. If you have done the previous lessons on the alphabet and the pronunciation of syllables, you can see that we always pronounce each letter and each syllables as they are said. We say, no. No unos Quadro Cinco says. Here we say A says, etotoNeve ds. These are the first ones. They are all different, the first ten, and then there is some kind of rule next follow for the next numbers. So we say se Dettors Ks. As you can see, the first five in sense dose, setors Kin se. The next one start with SE. DSE says DSE says, DST, DSOs, Vinte doesn't have any rule te. Here you have the rule, this ends in S and the ones start with DSE. DSE says, inbe they start with DSE, and then it's the same number. DSC says do due Let's continue with the 20s. Here they all start with the same syllables, vento. Venti Venti dos, vents, venti Quadro entico vents, ventee venti ocho, ventbTnta 30. The good thing here is that they all start with the same and they are one word only, and they all start with venti. You have to remember this and then you'll remember how to pronounce or how to say numbers 21-29. And the last one is renta, Trenton, neuro rent rent too, Quanta. So here, the rule that applies is they all have this is 37, 38, 39, from 30 onwards, it's the same rule for all the numbers 31-99. It follows this rule. We say 31, 32, 33, nana. If you remember these ones, then you'll be able to say all the other ones. We have DStQun. Let's continue with the next set of numbers. Numeros. So we have, as I said before, Guarentano 41, Quarentauno, quarentads, Guarnts quarentaQuaro, querentainco, querentasquarent Cite, querentaoco, querent eve Cinquenta. This is never inuenta. Remember this is Cinquenta we saw in the previous lessons, Cinquenta. Remember, we always repeat the same pattern. We say, querentaen dos, querent tres, Cinquentauno, centa tentaOcenta, and it's always E. This E means and ok. Then we have Cinquentajuno, Cinquenta dos, CinquentaTres, Cinquente quadro, Cinquentainco, Cinquentssen Cequentaoco, Cuenta nueve, Centa 60, esenta. Entaunoesenta Dos, entrees, enteQuaroen Cinco, esententaoco, Cena tenta. Careful here because many people make the mistake of saying enta stenta careful. One is 60, centa, one is 70, etenta careful with these ones. Then you continue Stent uno, tentsenequatro. State Occena here you have here you can say because you have se acecenta. Perfect. You can pause the video because there are many numbers here. So if you want to practice, I recommend you to pause the video here and then continue with the next set of numbers. Numeros. So here we have OcentunaOcenta Dos, OcentaTres, OcenteQuaro centesinco, OcentesOcenta Cette, OcentaocoOcenta nueve, noventa continues the same Noventauna noventados, NoventeTres, NoventeQuaro, Noventazinco, Noventes, Noventaete Noventaoco, NoventaebN right, so we say Cien and then we say siento. So this is Sen 100, but then we say Siento Centono Cento Dos, CentoTres, Siento Quatro, Cientoinco, Centoss Siento CentoOcho Cento nueve, Siento ds. And then for the other numbers, we say Dcientos. So Siento goes at the end. DocienosTrecient, Quatro Cientos, quinientos careful with this one. Say Cientos sienten, entos mil 1,000. Now remember, 91-99 Noventa and then 101-189 Siento. So we say Cento, Cientos, Centre, Siento Gentcenenena uno, and then 200-900, we say Cientos. We have docientosTrecientos, quaracientos. Quientos is exception, cientencen novecientos, and then mil. I know this might be a lot of numbers. You have all this information in the vocabulary workbook, you'll have all the numbers there and there is also practice. Don't forget to do the practice, so then you can remember this easier. How do we say goodbye? Sped Goodbye, sped Rs. We can say chow. That's what I usually say in Buenos Aires, in Argentina, we say chow. You can say Adios, goodbye, Asta uego, Asta pronto, Asta manana, nos vemos, canta de Cocerte, encantada feminine, encantado masculine. You can say, if you are a woman, you say cantata, the short form. If you are a man, you say encantado, the short form, or you can say encantada de conocerte, the long form, let's say. These are ways of saying goodbye. Tao or Adios. So you have exercises in the Wbook to practice, introducing yourself and also to practice a few dialog. I recommend you go to the Wbook and do those exercises and also the video practice that is available so you can get more practice and more phrases. Practica to practice, what do you have to do? Present, introduce yourself like the example below. The idea is that you write in the comments, O Mamo Mamo your name, tengo Anos. So you write a number, for example, tengo Guarnta, so you write a number, tengo Guarnta neos. So the Buenos Aires Argentina, so you write your city and your country, soy and then your nationality. So this is something you can do to practice, introducing yourself in the comments. So this would be good to practice, and then this is something that would be relevant and useful for you when you introduce yourself. So I hope you had enjoyed this first lesson, and let's continue with the next module. I'll see you later. Nos vemos. 9. Module 1 - Practise : so I am the verb to be. This is very important. I was saying Sorry. Floridians. Yeah. Okay, so he for I you'll soy Florencia. So you're Cantina. So we the boy? No scientists are Cantina. What I'm saying here eats a young Florencia. I am Argentinian. I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina. So I used soy because I'm talking about me. Okay. If I'm talking about she or about he I say iss So in the case of ADM Asia iss Mariana Asia Iss Mahi Khanna Asia is there Mexico and for men. Ls Kareem El is Marquis El is the Rico's. So when we want to say where we're from, we say soy, then? Yeah, iss they l s then okay. And we talk about where the person is from. Yes, to sum up. So remember I can say soy there, Cantina. I am from Argentina. If I'm a woman, I would say soy cantina. Or I can also say soy the Francia. I am from fronts. If I am in, and if it's masculine, I would say Soy Francis. Okay, the negative. But I don't want to say I'm not English. I'm, um, American. You can say no So young Lissa soy is the only dancing. So you just have the word no before on that state I will repeat it again. No sewing, Lesa Soy Is that only Lenzi? Okay, I'm not English. I'm American. Other examples below Marcos is espanol would be the same us l Is this bunion translated? It would be Marcos East Punish. He's from Spain. The next sentences on Hyla is Marquis Done is a stock only DNC in Mary s English. These centres would be done is American and that that why means and on Mary is English. Ok, I will repeat it again then is Estonian say Imari? A single Issa Okay, on the last phrase, Marty s the laundress England era so translated into English would be Merry East from London, England. Murray is there long dress in Ladera. Okay, good. So introductions on the right side, there are a few numbers. Number one, I say Ola Mae Jama Florencia. Those tangle Brenda Yoon Anya's. That is soy can Dina Quattro soy, the one of scientists. So if I want to introduce myself, I will say these four sentences Brown owns. I was talking about Jewell. So Joe means I So you l A Yeah, no. So throws no So dress NGOs e yes, in Spanish. Remember that we use the masculine and the feminine. Okay, so these are the main partners you have to remember because they are used all around all over the Spanish speaking countries. Okay, so try to rhythm remember these fights. So how can you practice a lesson one? So my recommendation is that you do the following You have the teacher hated hunt. So write an introduction about yourself with those four numbers, as I did number one. So friends? Yeah. Number two tangled in the U Nanula. So you do the same. You can also write a short dialogue with exchanges like lamb. One of the Yes. Hola. Good value will be in good Asked. Yes. So you can write a few exchanges like good morning. How are you? I'm good. And you? I'm fine, thank you. Okay. The next one is You can practice talking about famous people's nationalities. For example, Bono is Ellen. This Penelope Cruz s Espanola learn l Macy iss Argentino other A single Issa s doing whatever. So my recommendation is that you find at least five people, men and women that are from different countries. And then you can say the nationality and where they're from. Okay, this will be a very good practice, especially when you're meeting people from other countries. And you want to know where they're from, anyone to talk about where you're from. So this is something that you should do and use their t cheat to do. This exercise is okay, so last thing, how do we greet? Well, we can either. A kiss on the cheek, That number s o l. A. Mahia. This is very common in some countries. It's two cases, but I usually gave one. You can give a hug, Dad, Who never s. So this is very common for friends on people or people that know each other very well or that haven't seen for a long time. This is very common. You can also shake hands. Darla. My No, this is very common for four months situations. Or when you don't know the person on its the first time you're meeting him or her on. This is something for you to remember. At least in Argentina, we kiss on the cheek on This is between men and women, women and women and men and men. This is something that you can see. Maybe two men us. Here, you can see the photo they're kissing on the cheek. And for us, that's very common. Everybody does that. So don't be alarmed if you travel to Argentina on somebody, him greets you with a case on the take, and it's and you are a man and he's a month. Don't worry. This is something we dio. Okay. Um okay. I hope you have enjoyed this lesson. There is the load of new things for you, So write them down on D. Do the exercises and practice as much as you can. I will see you on lesson to 10. Module 1 - Practise II: It's good to ES grieving loss nanometers. So here you have to listen and write the numbers. You here. Those say those same set, then they say, Sit than dice A's. You know, that, you know, that essay that I see. The SEC, the SEC quadrant, Steinway, Nueva, DSC, know every scene webinar. You can say O is jueves, Os Martes, manana is Miercoles, you can do this to practice. Okay. Let's continue with estaciones de ano, as estaciones de ano, the seasons of the year. But we have Primavera, Verano, Otono invierno. Right now for me, is Verano. Well, it's almost finishing, but it's still Verano Verano, and for you. You can say Primavera, invierno, is Otono. Let's continue. KDIOi. This is when you want to know what day is today, DI OI. Os Lunes, Os Martes, numbers, remember, atorse de Juno. Today is Tuesday 14th of June, O Martes de uno. 0 Miles primeroeptire. When we have number one for the dates, we always say primero. Os Miercoles primero. The rest of the numbers are okay, but just first, we say primero. We don't say Osuna Depre we say O primero de septiembre. Os huevesthus dabril. This is the only rule we say primero, thus Cators, et cetera, and it's always there when you want to say the month. Os jueves, thus dabrilOs Miracles primero, the septiembre, O Martes Kators the June. All right. Coesta Lia, what's the weather like? Cuesta Elia, O El tiempo. Some people say El tiempo. So there are two ways. You can say, Oesta soladoOesta nudo Oesta juboso or Yuboso oyes tantoso as calor, Afo. So you can reply with any of these phrases. Oesta soleado Ace calor, too. All right? Or you can say Oestabd Apio and it's cold. So these are the ways in we answer what's the weather like? All right, so we say Ota O as calor, as frio. So you can answer, Cestia. All right. When we talk about birthdays, we say S Kators de Mars Suns then noviembre, Stee debil. All right. These are a few questions to start asking or answering. Let's continue with vacaciones, holidays or vacations, vacaciones. One dozen a vacaciones in Argentina. When are holidays in Argentina or vacations in Argentina? People usually take holidays, Lavacaciones, verano, Son en enero. People usually take holidays in January, February because it's summer. La vacaciones, verano, summer, Son Enero. So here you have Pais countries, dad city Cumplans Cumplns birthday, for you to remember these words. So remember there is more practice in the word in the practice workbook with all there is a map and you have to complete or you have to answer a few questions about the weather, that would be useful for you to practice, and I'll see you in the next module. Let's continue. 12. Module 2 - Practise: another one is called issue on. This is something temporal, so it's always connected. Teoh be like sick, being busy being tired because it's temporal. So have a look at the first drawing. I se Il a stop and federal. He's ill el esta loco Pollo. He's busy on the last one. L. A stack and saddle tired gun saddle. So we say in Fed animal ocupado can saddle and we used the O at the end because we're talking about men. If it's a woman, we say in Fatima. Oh, by them Gonzaga the next. Use its Mosul. We want to talk about emotion. So the girls, I would say a yes is done content us. They are happy. The 2nd 1 ages is done. Fella says. Feliz is also happy on contender as well. If I'm talking about a woman, I would say a new Honda. Okay, so what can we do now that you have finished with all they said as that? And I know it's a lot and there were many phrases. So what can you do? You gotta start practicing. So what do you have to do is the following You're gonna write sentences about number one? Were things in your house are You can use a dictionary for new words, and I highly recommend I recommend a word reference. Don't come. This is an online dictionary. Andi, if you're looking for the word, let's say the were tree and you want to know how to say that in Spanish, Use word reference dot com and then he will tell you tree are edible and then you will have a sentence in Spanish and in English. So I highly recommend this dictionary and this is an example. Mi computadora esta la mesa Los medios istan Ellen barkin. Okay, so you can talk about either position or location where my computer tees or where the Children are OK. No matter those how you or people you know feel today for example, mere Manu Is that cocoa below? Estoy can sado. So I can say my brother, he's busy. I am tired so you can talk about people. As I said in her family, your friends, people you know, just write a few sentences, OK, a number three new metal trays Describe people you know on yourself. For example, Me mother is English Is Alta IHS or No Secretaria so tried to use all the things that you have learned so far. Like nationalities characteristics, I highly recommend here a dictionary, a swell. And then, um you can write about their jobs. You cannot weaken right about where they are. I can also say me mother it is that a low fi Xena, My mom is at the office, so I can even use all the other ones. Ok, you can use their honest but just think of sentences that you can use in your own language and then write them in Spanish. Okay, so this is what I highly recommend for you to do. In this module, we're going to see two very important verbs, verb to be set, and verb to B star in Spanish. As you probably have seen many YouTube videos and podcast and books, they all talk about these two verbs because in Spanish, they have different uses, and in English, for example, it's just a verb to so I think it's very important since you start learning Spanish to know when do we use set and when do we use star? As you progress in your language and you progress in the modules and the levels, you'll see other uses for these two verbs, but we're going to see the basic ones, right? This is going to help you with all the other lessons and all the other things that you learn in Spanish. So let's continue with Setter er and Eta. So we're going to start with the verb ereroVerbo Serre nombre Zujeto. We haven't seen the pronouns in Spanish, so we're going to see them, and we're going to see the verb er. So we have these pronouns ho 02 Aested which is a U formal. We use it when we talk to, for example, our boss or somebody that we respect a lot. It could also be used for, let's say, grannies and older people we don't know. The doctor, for example, nosotros, nosotras, Eos Agase os eas. Ustedes, when it's a U plural, and Vos, which is the one from Argentina, ruay and many other regions. I always will include Vos. I do not include Vostros vostras because I don't use it. So it's not natural for me to use Vostrovstras because it's not part of my dialect. I don't use that. But if you want to learn Spanish from Spain, they use Vosotros vostras and they conjugate the verbs according to that pronoun. I recommend that if you want to learn that, you have to listen to Spanish TV series, Spanish podcast or Spanish movies, or if you can take lessons online, try to make sure you have a teacher from Spain. But I don't use it and it's only used in Spain. All right? So it's not going to be included in this course. These are the pronouns, Jo to Asia, usted, nosotros nosotras, remember, masculine, feminine, AgosEjasts vs. Then we have the verb to be set. I say Jo Soy Jozy Aa, Aa, is usted is, nosotros somos, AEs sun, usted sun s ss. When we want to say aam Jozy. You are two s. You can see the verb is conjugated differently. Here, a very small note, you'll see this later on in following lessons. The verbs have different conjugations. They can be regular or they can be regular. Some verbs are easier to conjugate, but the verb set is not irregular. I'm sorry about that. But the verb set is irregular. As you can see, it's different in all of the conjugations. J2ss, as what're saying here is she is Asia is t is, all right. This is a verb to be ser. Here we have a few examples. Jose Florencia, I am FlorenziaTs Daniel, L Marcos is Marcos Ea is Susana, Nostra Somos Patricia I Mirta. We are Patricia and Mirta, nosotros somos Patricia I Jose. Here I mark this O because when we have masculine and feminine together, the rule so far is to use the masculine. All right. If there is masculine and feminine, we use the masculine, nosotros somos Patricia jose Egos son juanucasTmsculine, Egoson juanucasEg son hill Imia. All right feminine, gas, masculine, gos, mixed, masculine. These are examples with a different conjugation. Here we're saying I am, you are, he is, she is, we are. Okay. Very good. You can pause the video if you want to say these pronoun out loud, or we can continue with the uses of the verb er. So here we have a word that will help you remember. You'll see this online. This is a very common word to remember the uses of ser. So we have the DSOs viernes, as we have seen before, remember Viernes Friday O occuponPfesons, MPs Ingenero. My husband is engineer. Se Caracas Mrmans Alta. My sister is tall. Te Laura, son LatresTad. It's 3:00. O Origen, Miss Amigos. Soon DTaoUnidos. My friends are from the United States. Ramiro Es Mirino, my nephew. We form the word doctor. This is in English because it's for English speakers. Remember the word doctors, days, occupation, characteristics, the time, origin, relation. Yes, this will help you remember the uses. This is just for the start. Once you are an intermediate or advanced student, you won't need this. But just start. This would be good when you're practicing. Dias laura Origen so let's see more examples. Das, OS viernes, ventinco the julia, MaianaZavado, entiss the julia, Mcuplans S, uns proximo. All right. So whenever we talk about ds, we use S. We never say Eta Ota viernes, no, OS viernes. O, occupation, professions occupation professiones, Julian Es piloto poses maestra, teacher. Miss IjosRmember children, Miss Ijos Son Es Tudients nosotros somos abogados, lawyers, Tus as fatta stewardess or flight attendant. So remember, we conjugate Mihos because it's Ejs Julian, PlotooEjaE maestra. Okay? So we sometimes use the name, the proper name, Julian, or we can use L. We can also do not say anything. So we say S Piloto if we know who we're talking about. Okay? Se characteristica. We can say Haven, alto, young and tall, Ej patcayertia. She's very nice and fun. Aja is uen ui intelligente. So when we're talking about characteristics that are permanent, let's say, so E Alto, he will always be tall El Alto, right? He's a tall person or she's a fun person, A Divertda, right? It's kind of like her characteristic or her personality is Mutllgente. She's very intelligent. So this is kind of like a permanent characteristic, okay? So here we're going to see more examples and more adjectives. So we have AGIs Baha, Ls Timido hi, AGS delgada, thin, Ls Alto tall AGS organizada, she's organized. Ls uireatvos very creative, AGIs extra Vertida, she is extroverted. There are more adjectives in the vocabulary workbook. I recommend that you go there and you check those adjectives, you can add even more adjectives. If you want to, we're going to see them. We're going to see more adjectives in the following lessons. Here you have a few examples. When you're talking about, for example, height or personality traits, we say AS extrovertida, LiriavEgSOgansada. All right, so here are more examples. Let's continue. Another use is the time, Laura. Kota what time is it? Kos, sun Lazinko is auna de la tarde. We're going to see the time in later videos, but just for you to know, we say sun acinko it's 5:00. S auna we always say singular, S auna de la are, it's 1:00. But we're going to see that later. Just for you to know, we use for the time. A kora is as. What time is a class? Es nueve media la manana. As you can see, when we want to know what time it is, we say Kora is or what time is a lesson? Akora is las and we answer E a Nueve media. We're going to see the time later on. If you want, you can skip these lessons and go straight to the time, or you can continue with the next use, which is origin, origin. Mies Posa is the Colombia. My wife, M esposa is the Colombia. Miss O Brinos my nephews Miss Obrinos Sound Mjico. Esto Zapatos remember zapatos from the previous pronunciation lesson. Esto zapatos, this use son del centro commercial, Es tacmda Es Italiana. This meal is Italian, Es TacomdaEitaliana. Whenever we talk about where things come from, we use ser son Somos nostro Somos. Last one is relacion, Carla Esme Cunea, my sister in law, sus Ijos Milo Valtazar So Miso brinos, Sebastian no Esme Jado, Esme Primo, my cousin. And son Egos, who are they? EnsonEgos, Egos son, Miss Teos. They are my uncle and aunt, or you can say my uncles. It depends. We say tios for both of them, auntie and uncle. So whenever you're talking about relation or relationships, you use S E M Bozo. He is my husband or mijo is my son, to practice a little bit, but practicaro personas famosas am plus, JS Julia Roberts, AJs Actress. You can add the profession if you want to, you don't have to. AGS the Georgia Estados AGS Estado Ndense E go Son Opera, I Bill Gates, E sonidos Ego son Estado Ndenss. So you can describe five people. You can use a verb set. You can search for more adjectives if you want to. You can add all the uses that we saw. Remember the word doctor, days, origin, relation, occupation, the time, characteristics. So you can use some of the things that we have seen and describe five people. You can write them in the comments, and I can check that for you. You can write people you know, family members, famous people, which sometimes I think it is easy. And you can use a nationality, for example, AS, Estado Ndense. You can choose two people to describe together, so you can practice Son or you can describe yourself if you want to why not. I just said Persona FamosaFamous people because I think it's easier. So that's something for you to do to practice. There is more practice in the workbook, so I recommend that you go there and you do the practice, and there is the video practice as well. So don't forget to finish that one to remember all the uses and get practice in Spanish. So let's continue with the verb ta 16. Module 3 - Verb Estar in Spanish: Let's continue with the use of the verb ta. So here we have pronombre ujetos plus the verb ta. So we have pronouns and the verb and the form in which it's conjugated. So remember, Jo Jo two, a Aja, usted, nosotros, nosotras, Agios aas ustedes vs. All right. So here we have the pronouns again, and then the verb is ta Jo Ti two estas, esta Aja ta, usted esta, nosotros nosotras Estamos Es Agastanstds tan, s estas. Depending who's talking or conjugate the verb in a different way. If I'm talking, for example, if it's me and my friend, we say nosotras because it's two women, nostrasEstamos. If I'm talking about a group of girls, I say AgasEtan if I'm talking about a group of girls and boys, I'll say egos Etan. It depends who's talking or who's doing the action that will conjugate the verve. This is Eta. Let's see some examples. Jostoi and oficina. I am in the office. Estoy and oficina. To Estas and two Casa, you are at home in your house. Esta ocupado, Egtaocupada, as you can see the difference, ocupado, masculine ocupada, feminina, Esta cupadoEgest cupada, nosotras estamos, and escuela, we are in the school. Nosotros Estamos and Casa, we are at home. Ego stan ocupados. This is masculine and plural, Ego estan ocupados, Ego estan ocupadas, easy. As you can see, the adjective can change according to the number and the gender, what we're going to see in following lessons. Ocupado, ocupada, ocupados, ocupadas. These are some examples of the verb ETA and its conjugation. Let's see the uses. So this is again, similar to the word doctor for the Bersers the same for star. So we have p, which is position position, libro esta sobre la mesa. The book is on the table. LA location ubicacion, Mata Ea Cage Salta. My house is on Salta Cage Street. Axion action, Sylvia Estaravajano, she's working. We're going to see this in later lessons. Sylvia Eta travjan condition condition, Esto Mui cansado, I am very tired. A emotion, Emotium los chicos, Estan entusiasmados, por lava casions. The children are excited because of the holidays or for the holidays. These are examples of the uses and you form the word place, position, location, action, condition, emotion. You always use the verb Ester. Let's see more examples. P position, position atrapara sofa. La Mesa de cafe, esta cerca del sofa. This is the coffee table, La Mesa de cafe, a radio Esta E la biblioteca. It's on the bookcase, in the bookcase. Sorry. Esta Ela biblioteca. So every time we're talking about position, we use Esta L, location, ubicauEtLaerca, del mar, C, Leska stainl Centra, Los Chicos, San NL glube. Every time we talk about ubicon, we use star position, ubiconPosition, location. Next one is action, axion. Estan blando. Tes CucandoEjos Estan bebendo cafe. So they are drinking coffee, stan ebendo cafe. Estan Alando they are speaking. Esta Es Cucando, he's listening. So every time we talk about things that are happening now, we use the verb Eta. Say, condition, condition, to ui cansado, I'm very tired. Esta resfriado Eta ui ocupada. Here we have resfriado when you have a cold. And as you can see in the first sentence, I said Esto ui cansado. I didn't say Jo or Yo Esto ui cansado. So as you can see, you can omit the pronoun in Spanish. So you don't have to say it if it's too obvious. Okay? You can also say stares Friao. You don't have to say Estare Friao if it's obvious, who we're talking about. So this is for you to know. You can use it at the beginning, so you remember the conjugation, but it's not necessary, okay? So condition, cansado resfriado ocupada. The next one is, emotion, EmotiuaFelss, happy. Estas triste, are you sad? Estamos pupa. We are very worried. You can say nosotros estamos cuba nosotras Estamos pbadaRmember the difference. E tan felices. They are happy. These are all the uses of the verba. I recommend that you go on with the video practice where you have to decide between the verb set and the verba, do that practice and go to the workbook to do more practice and yes, practice as much as you can, so you can remember all these uses. And if you have any doubts or questions, don't forget to write in the comments below the video. I'll see you in the next module. 17. Module 3 - Reading: on Dhere. Mi Madre said Yama Rozario, meet Badri said Yama Reuben So I have a mother and a father. My mom's name is Bruce Audio on my dad's name is Ruben. The last Rays tangle owner manner ill say Yama Sebastien CNN the CEO Chur messes So I have a brother. His name is Sebastien. He's 18 months. So as you can see here, the different ways in which we use. Yeah, Marseille antenna. Okay, What I recommend is that you Paulse video on you Read this party graph unpracticed Reading it out loud. Right on. Do the same with all the next head of the following texts we have here in this lesson This is the next one Tangle owner Amana Se Yama Christina The enemy didn't die those meows so if we can see Christina is a woman on the right Christina the onus bozo se gamma Fernando the enemy wouldn't that Daniels? So what I'm saying there is that Kristina has a husband and his name is Fernando and he's 40 40 years old, and then you have the words so Breanna knees on disposal husband at the bottom the next race. Christina, if Fernando TNN A. Yeah, say jama. So we d n a Quatrano on use Eka means daughter. So Christina and Fernando, they have a daughter. Her name is so we she's for. Okay. Uh, daughter, remember the one of the first lessons we were saying equal son. So we iss me. Sabrina, she's my niece. Okay, So Verena Niece So buddy, no. Next. You okay? This is something for you to remember. A feminine Oh, masculine pulsar video here and read the text out loud. So Paul's the video here on raided Allah out loud. The next one is another family. So we say Luo's sewn me Steals se Dammann, Beatrice et de animal. Remember the word deal? That means Uncle, we were talking about an uncle on an end. We say Guo's so I'm saying they are. My uncle and aunt deals their names are countries E G. Animal media batteries. The trend by single Manu's easy animal. Deanna Brenda, your toe on use Dangle those Remo's me prima said. Yeah, Mom Elena, Amy, Primo say Yama, Amedeo. So remember these were primo. That means Cassin, and I said, Prima, it's gassing when it's a woman. But if I want to say female on masculine cousins, I use very moss. Yes, every time you want to talk about the plural form in Spanish, we generally used the masculine form so I can say, Oh nah, prima, those bream us if they are to female cousin. If I want to say to masculine cousins, let's say I would say the most. If I want to talk about female on masculine, I say remorse. Okay, so I have to castings my cousin's name. It's Milena. On my cousin's names is Amedeo So prima female, pre more masculine. Milena, Deanna Dress. Anya's E Amedeo Vienna Say's annuals. Okay, so pause the video here and read it out loud. 18. Module 3 - Practise: Okay, So what can we do to practice? Practice? Got So this is something you will have to do. You'll have to write down again. Remember, you can use a dictionary. You can go back to these lesson and have a look at the new words. Or you can have a look at the T cheat because everything will be there. So what do you have to do? Is no matter. You know right about your family, for example. Tangle. What? Rob, vuelos say Yemen. And here you're right. The name. The end. In here. You will write the number Daniels. Something that you can do here would be. When you have to write a number, you can ride between parentheses. How do you write that number? So imagine that your grandfather is 70. So you right? Number 70. But I recommend that you also write the words. Okay, So you have to spell 70. Okay? Another example. Tango cinco premios me. Spree HMAS Say Yemen under the name me Spree. Most say Yemen the name meet remap. And here it says number. For example. Carla Me prima Carla Vienna something. Something annuals me but he mall and it's his name number. So I could say, for example, Jorge Me Primo Jorge, CNN something something on use. Okay, so this would be a good practice, so you can write about your own family. And whenever you are in a Spanish speaking country, you can say I'll see tango, Quattro willows, Then go, no matter a battery. Then go single manuals and you can talk about your family naturally. Okay. A new matter of those, right? About your possessions. It could be your possessions or yeah. Or if you want to talk about people in your family, OK? So you can say Then go go to Mi Esposo. My husband has a computer so you can talk about you or you can talk about some. Somebody yells, Okay, The name us those equals we have two Children. You can also say this in the negative. And imagine I have brother, Ermano if my brother is married, I'll have Kunala which is sister in law. All right. So if I have a sister, I would say Hermana with A Hermana. And if she's married with a man, I would say he's me Kunalo with O. So ErmanoKunaa. If they have children, they are my nieces and nephews. Sobrino Sobrina all right? So Padre Madre Sho Hermano Sobrino Sobrina. Now let's see my grandparents have two children. All right. So they have, let's say, MPareo my uncle, Tota. Okay. Imagine they have children or they have a son, so it's Primo. Okay, his wife would be M Prima, but kind of like prima Seuna or prima politica, because it's not by blood. We are not related by blood, but it could be prima politica, but he's MPrimo cousin. If I had a female cousin, she would be Prima with a Okay. So TiO Tia Primo. Then imagine my primo has children. So they are my primos segundos, all right, because they are not my first cousins. They are my second cousins, Primo segundos. So this is the family, all right? Based on here, show Esposa Iago, Hermano. If he's married, I have Cunada. I can have my TiO Tia, primo, and then prima, if it's a woman. Here you have professions that end in ante they don't have masculine or feminine. They are neutral, okay? You will know if you're talking about he or she with the subject. You would say Seaman, because it's EjaseErmanas, because we're talking about Ajs, your sisters, they.Trmanas Leticia, Anna, for example. This is to ask name and to ask somebody else's name. Perfect. My favorite season Ease Summer Cuando s to complain Use When is your birthday? Quando is to complain years Okay to answer we say me complain use s l got or say they're Madison Me humbly a news s l cod or say they matter So if we want to know about somebody else's birthday we asked wonder Is el companias there to mother? When is your mom's birthday? Quando is welcome plan Use the to moderate. The answer would be a companias. The memory is an own said then Noviembre, pay attention here that I don't say me companias because that's my birthday. Quando is El companias the Dodea. Remember the word dia It's and yes, So wonder is a complete Manu's They dodea in companias The media s in 20 CIA 10 there Really? In this module, we're going to see the verb to have tener in Spanish, and we're going to see vocabulary connected to the family and how to say names, which is the verb Jamars. We're going to see these three things in this module, so I hope you enjoy it. Let's start. The verb tener to have conjugated in the following way. Remember the pronouns Go tengo, I have otengo. Two TNS, TN ATNE she has Ousted TNeRmember the U formal Ousted TNE nosotros nosotras tenemos Ego Aga TNNstsTN vos tens. As you can see, the verb tener is irregular because it changes for all of them. It doesn't start with ten all the time. It starts with TNS or tenemos tens tengo, we call it an irregular verb. I always means to have so here we have a few examples, H plus, tengo una familia grande. I have a big family. Two tienes una clase pale, Mamigo Tien Cochenuebo. Tengo Los Lunes, Trabajo uname. As you can see, as I said before, you don't have to say Jo or for example, no sotros, you can omit them. If it's too obvious, you can say Tengo ne familia grande. I know you're talking about the pronouns Jo, all right? And then you conjugate TNS, here is Mimico TNA, TNA. When you're talking about a person or you're using a name or you say MiMdre, you have to think, Mimdre equals TE. Ustedes Nun examine, you all have an exam. TNNnEamine. Here are a few examples, we're going to continue with the usages of tener Otras de tener tener anos. When we are saying our age, we always use tener. Tengo trenta cinco anos, tengo Quanta neos. We saw this in previous lessons. We can also conjugate this with, for example, Asia TN trentinco Anests TN Kinse Anos. For this, you have to remember the numbers. Okay. En. Every time you want to say, I am hungry or are you hungry, we say tener. And the word is Ambre. Tener tenemos Muched are very thirsty. Literally would be we have a lot of thirst. Tenemos Mucha Nodros Tener Medo Lapelico Medo. I am scared, tengo Medo. I am thirsty. Tengo said, I am hungry, tengo Are. Tenernen tener Medo. Tener quidado ten Mucho quidado. We use tener quidado when we want to say to be careful. Teneruenomuco sueno. When you feel sleepy, you say tener sueno. Okay. Tenerotenerc, FodenoKalor. We usually use Celsius, so we say as querent grads, Celsius, Itegocalor. We don't use Fahrenheit, 40 degrees is pretty, pretty hot. So we say tenerfrio to be cold, tener calor to be warm. These are other uses of the Verb tener. I recommend that you write a few sentences that are true for you. For example, you can say here, no tengo Ambre or you can say tengo Ambre you practice conjugating the verb tener or tengo sed, no tengo Mio. You can use some of these examples to write sentences that are true for you and practice these other uses of the verb ten 24. Module 5 - el, la, las, los in Spanish: Welcome to Module five, modular Cinco. In this module, we're going to see articles articulos and pale, nouns, sus tantibos, gender and number, and how it is formed in Spanish. We have seen a little bit about gender and number in previous lessons, but now we're going to see the full explanation with examples. So if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to write them in the comments below this video, and let's get started. So we have two different types of articles definidos which are singular or plural, singular, a Clase, la casa, a capital. These are feminine. Plural, a classes, a casas, as capitals. As you can see, this is similar to the or that would be the equivalent, the house, the class, the capital, a Case, a casa, capital. And then we have masculine Libro El coche, E Herssio, the book, the car, the exercise, plural, los libros, los coches, as Herssios. So as you can see, articulos definidos definite articles, a L, last loss. Okay, we have four. Now, let's see in the finitos. So we have again, singular, singular una classe, una casa, una capital. This would be a house or a class, a house, a capital because it's feminine, we say una classe una casa una capital. Plural, una classes, a casas una capitals. When we want to say a few, we say una classes, tengo una classes, Lunes. I have lessons or a few lessons on Monday. We say unas. Feminino maculino singular, unliber uncceUnhcsio. And here attention. We don't say no liberal. We say una classe, but we don't say no liberal. We say unliberal unccenehcio, plural, ons liberals, onus coches, nos hessio. So remember, definido plural s in definido a plural as unos. All right. So we have a total of eight articles, Ocho articulos. Cuatro de finitosGuatri in de finitos. Attention attention, Los Estudiants son de chil. Here, Estudiante is neutral. I don't know. Is it boys or girls? I say masculine, Los Estudients. The students are from Chile. I know these are female students because I say as Estudientes. Imagine there are students arriving at the school. They are exchange students and I say, as studientes son de Childs, the female students are from Chile. Uno Student Epo, a few Spanish students. Uns Estentes de pago, I know they are female students. Los Estentes sun chicas, Iticos de qs anos. So when I have both mixed, I have chicas, Iicos I use los or I use uns all right? Because remember, when we have masculine or feminine, we use masculine. So how do we know when we have nouns that are neutral? The article will tell us, all right? So just for you to know this specific case, you'll have all this information in the vocabulary workbook, so don't worry. This will be there, but you can pause the video if you want to say these phrases out loud. Contractions. These are contractions with the articles in Spanish. If we have the word, the preposition, preposition, plus L, we say Voi supermercado, I go to the supermarket, Voi A supermercado. If we have preposition D plus L, we say EiroEPrimo de Mi Padre. The book is my father's cousin. So Del are the two contractions we have in Spanish, right? We don't say Al, we say A, we don't say the L, we say Dell. So when we have preposition, mass, articulo L. But in the next video, we're going to see vocabulary connected to as compress shopping. Let's see it. 25. Module 5 - Shopping in Spanish: Video, we're going to learn vocabulary connected to las compras shopping and nouns and gender Susanto genero. Here are a few things that you may find in a shop or in a store, pay attention to the articles that will tell you if they are feminine or masculine. Let's see. We have El Hugo. It's also say El Sumo in Spain. I say Hugo. El Hugo, Eaga, Este, Elvino, Elpan, El Cafe, Ea tun, a Mermda, Lina, a pasta, El huevo, a majonesa, El Frijol, Ella Zucca, Ela Ross, El Patel Jen ico, El DTarjente, a pasta dental, El Serial. So as you can see, we have the articles that tell us if it's masculine or feminine. El Hugo, Ella Wa. This is a very particular noun because even though it ends in A, it is EAA. It's masculine. Este a mermelada. Okay, Lina, flour, or Ella sucka sugar. All right, Ella rose, rice. So we have Ela. These are all singular, okay? I'm talking about them generally. I say El hu. I'm not talking about the specific or the bottle of juice. I'm just saying juice in general. El Hugo, el cafe, the coffee. So this is for you to know how we use the articles and how do we determine the gender, okay? As abora let's continue with specific containers. We say as Botejas the aceteO as botas di acete, the bottles of oil, as votejas the aa, as votejas the Hugo, Los frascos de cafe. El fresco, the ace tunas olives, El fresco, the ace tunas, as latas Daun, as Lattas the soda, Los Rojos, the papel Jenico, El Maple, the Webos. When we have this carton, we call it lmple. As you can see, we have the articles, feminine articles, as Potgas the bottles, Los frascos, the jar. And when we want to say what is inside, we say the a Potgas deacet because there are four. If there is only one bottle, we say a teja the acete. But because we have many, we say as votjas the acete. What is inside is always the a voteja de agua, as voteja de Hugo, Los Frescos de cafe. This is masculine fresco jar. So we say Los frescos, the cafe. You'll have all these in the vocabulary workbook, so don't worry about it, but you can pause the video if you want to read out loud. Let's see the next product proximo productos, Los paquetes, the rose, the packets of rice. A Bottega evino, as Bolzas the pan, Bolzas are bags, as Bolsa, the pan, paquetes de pasta, Los frascos de Barmda, Los Pachts, the arena, as paquetes, the azuca, as Latas, the frijoles, as cajas de erials. So here, remember we Savino is masculine. But if we're talking about the wine bottles, bottles is feminine. So as votega evino. All right, El Pan is masculine, but if we're talking about bolsas, it's feminine, as Bolzas the pan. Allright? So here you saw the articles, and the plural, as loss. And you also saw the containers, botjas, boolsas, frescos, attas, cajas, boxes, and some products like vino, pan, pasta Bermlada. All right. So now, what we're going to do is we're going to see how they are formed. Singular a BotjaE vino, the bottle, the wine. Plural as Botza Sevino. All right. La VolsaEpan, as Volsas pan, El paquete, a pasta, Los paquetes de pasta, El fresco, a mermelada, Los Fresco de mermelada, atta, E atun, as latas Deatun, Lata, a soda, as latas de soda, El Rojo de papel Jenico, Los Rojos de papel Jenico. At La botas thet. Here you can see these articles as I was saying before, right. And usually when they end in O is masculine. When they end in A, they are feminine. But the only special case, for example, is waterA because it can be sas as well. But that's for further learning. You can check it out now if you want to, but that's the only one that changes. Then plural as Es. Okay. Perfect. Well done. I hope this hasn't been too much because there's a lot of vocabulary all together, but you can pause the video at any moment and you can write comments in the video lessons if you have any questions. This will be all in the vocabulary workbook. There is also practice in the practice workbook, so I recommend that you go back and you do the articles exercise, and there is also an interactive activity that you can do. I'm going to leave the link below the video so you can also do that shopping activity with more products in Spanish. So you have some practice there to do. Let's continue with the next part. Y. 26. Module 5 - Practise: Let's practice articles. But first, remember we have two types of articles. Lot less loss articulates. Definitely dose, owner or owners articles, indefinite dose. Lot less owner, owners, femininity en los own owners masculinity. What do you have to do in this exercise is to complete with the right article. Complete data, leprosy, Cornell articular corrector to the n. This son, Francis's are way low. The CDMA, Asgard, main gun than novella. Then go primase. Know me, go Stan Bailey, coolest data. They may say jama Nancy, DNA into Aeneas bossa LV. They'll pause the video here to write your answers. Now yes, we're going to see the answers. Our Odyssey, Vamos have Ed lab request does losses to the Andes, some Francis's. In this case, I have to say loss because the word Francis's isn't masculine. The word Francis says is feminine, and in that case, I can write less than the pattern. This is very specific. So I have to say manganese lesson available every time we have the word main content. Then we use the definite article. Then go on as primase. Indeed, in this case, it's not defined how many who are discussing DNS zone one does. I don't know. So I say tengo owners primase. No matter who's done less colliculus. La Prima them in Madrid stadium Anansi. I use the definite article in this case because it's defined. Vamos a lot Proximus disease. Let's see the next exercises. The NSA gone, don't leave it on the mirror. Mano thing would mark this. Luminous is tassel Iago. Dynamos, Cafe is the receiver. Pause the video, but as loss articulates, pause the video here to write the articles. Let's see the answers. The most Nevada lab request pass DNS own secondo. Do you have a second? And if the GSA also LRT cooler in the finito indefinite article. Lot liberals, some, the mere manual. In this case, I am specifying which books are my brothers. Then go on into Vista. I have an interview on Tuesday. Remember the days of the week? Take the definite article, el mark this. Elle Luna's. They named most owners may notice. We have a few minutes. El Cafe is the Brazil. In this case, these coffee is defined. El Cafe is the vessel. Let's see the next phrases. Mama's lap Proxima process. Main gun, that chocolate, let the thing go pretty much close by Cassian innovate and some diverted us. Megastar Camila Vanessa. I'll sell video, but it's going to be loss or close. Pause the video here to write the articles. Let's see the answers. Vamos Nevada Mangan, able to collect them to collect this Musolino thing. Go on, Primo. I have a cosine from the US Las Vegas units, the ****** Sunday, but this is a general statements, so I use Las Vegas Uranus. Uranus is femininity. Megastar. Lack of meta happen is. You can pause here if you need to check or if you want to write a comment below the video, if you have any doubts or any questions. Let's see. The last phrases. Was I read last process. T goes Sun, the Puerto Rico gas at the Media Lab, is that Sudan? And here remember that a star means is. Then go compute adored and Weber. Mis padres, DNN, cancer. Acosta. Cos Theta is like the Coast. Bao sat LED, wacky. But as COVID loss articulate, Let's see the answers. Vamos Nevada, las Vegas, Sun, the Puerto Rico, lacA, the amygdala. Is that unless you that thing go oh, mis padres, DNN or nasa logo stamp. My parents have a house on the coast. And is Picasso also a lot of the cooler in the finito? These are the last exercises. Let's continue with the next video, where most proximal video. 27. Module 5 - Practise: So remember Busta. It can be followed by one object or birth. They musta took a Latin labour Hasta la musica No spruce that Encina Italiano less Costa Visitor, whoever sued Alice. So here we have different objects in chocolaty la musica l CNN And then we have ever PC And remember that the verb always goes with the infinitive form V Sita gustan will be followed by objects they Houston lost took a lattice level Stun lows The s solos No school Stan lost park guests less gustan lost liberals If we translated descendants is it would be Do you like chocolates? He or she likes sunny days. We like the parks. They like the books. Okay. In this case, they're old plural. So I used loss because their masculine lost took a lattice loss. The loss Parkas lost liberals here we have address, form us. Other forms even want to say May Costa I like in Spanish. You can use men in Tanta el Espanol. This is more than like. You can like something you can say may Busta, but if you say men canda it's more on because a less manually singular I say may encanta if I'm talking about more things. I would say May income done lost. Dual says. It's the same rules as with Busta, maybe Austin. If it's singular, I would say Met in condom. If it's plural, I would say May in condom the opposite. We can either say no me gusta I don't like or we can use the destiny as in these phrase that esto el bajo or the pesto lost mosquitoes and this is a stronger than normal water. So remember, may encanta the destiny some other two week another either say ammo less. Belykh. Witness the action. So Amul It's more than make Busta men Kanda. It's I love Armel last peliculas the action on the young percent It's all you all the last peliculas Douglas Okay, on a question using prefer, we can ask capable theorists lap peliculas the axiom. All these hospitals are in English. This would be what do you prefer action or suspends movies and to answer we can say very fierro last peliculas the action I prefer as you can see, I underlined all the articles last peliculas So what can you do to practice? I recommend that first you write sentences with these beginnings on. Of course, you have your own ideas. May will stop blah, blah, blah, blah. No medical stuff. Something something may encanta old. You ammo. Okay. You can use objects. Like you can say, maybe Costa took a lot. Or you can use the birth. May Busta Layer. Nobody last. Okay, So tried to make this something riel. So then it it would be more meaningful for you, for you. Okay. On the 2nd 1 right? About other people members of your family or friends on their likes and dislikes, for example knows Woolston Los para case Amir manner levels that layer Novellus? Yes, because I'm talking about my sister. I would say a me Ramana if I say Lego's telenovelas, I don't know who I'm talking about. So I add a mere manner when you want to specify who you're talking about, we say, uh, mere mana. Or there is another example a Marcella Lego stellar novellas. In this case, it would be Marcelus likes reading novels in Spanish. When we're talking about a specific person, we add the proposition. Amir Mina, Marcella. Um Isa Amigos. Let's go. Stun laws breast out on this. My friends, like a restaurants in Spanish. We need Proposition a mis amigos. I'm not talking about any other group of people. I'm talking about my friends. So in Spanish, it is a mis amigos, less gustan loss breast out on this, I use less because I'm talking about ages and I'm using gustan because restaurants it's plural. Or I could up to say a Dios Les gustan lows breast out. And this okay, so tried to use all of the's expressions, So then it's more meaningful. And then if you have to talk about your friends or if you have to talk about your Children , your family, you know how to I'll see you in the next class. 28. Module 6 - Verb Gustar in Spanish: Let's see how we form the verb gusta with all the pronouns. So here we have nom sujeto mas gusta pronouns plus the verb gusta. So if we're talking about me, as we said before, we're going to say MgustaO we're going to say Mgusta. So there are two ways. Now I'm going to say why we have two. But start thinking about this. Why do you think we have two? And two, TegustaTegsta, egosta egosta. If we're talking about C, we're going to say Legsta Legsta, usted, egosta, nosotros nogsta, Ago Aga egostaUst Ls gusta, AvosTegsta. So there are two different options. We can say megsta a Musica classica, Mgusta as canciones, los libros. Here we have two, y. The reason why we have Mgusta Mgustas because one is for singular object and the other is one for plural objects. If I'm saying Mgusta amusica, I like music. It's okay. MgustaO thing, amusica. But if I say Mgusta as vacaciones, more things plural, so I use Mgusta. The difference between Mgusta Mgustas because one is singular, and the other one is for plural objects. All right. So let's see a question that we can ask people clasica. And to answer when somebody ask if we like something, we can say, C, MgustaO no megusta. All right. So there are two options, C, meusta, no, no megusta. And always, if we're asking a person, we're always going to say Tegusta if we're asking one person. So, GustaOgusta, as I said before, one is for singular, the other is for plural. Have a look at these examples. Megsta musica, megsta Mucho escuchar musica, Mgusta cancion pale tambien Mgusta los libros, Amrmanogusa coche de cara, Tambien gust egustaNada Elm. Here you can see coches is plural, so Gusta MR is singular, so gusta. No megusta los dulces, Musta mas verbo objeto. As we said before, for example, Mgusta Mucho Escuchar. Escucha is a verb to listen. O megstamusica, it's an object. Italian, s gusta visita evades, and then we have gustan plus objects in the plural, Gusta mas objetos plural. Gustan los chocolates, nous loses, nos gustan los libros, and we don't use a verb here, attention with this one. We always or we only use objects in the plural form. Los Chocolates, os Parks, los libros. And here we can say Chocolate, sine visita, so we can use verbs. All right. Remember that in the practice workbook, you can do all the exercises to practice these two phrases, right? So other ways of expressing preferences, we can say Mencanta espanol, Mencanta as Dulces. So you can say Musta I like. But if you say mencanta it's a bit more, right? It's like the next level, let's say. Amo would be the third level, amo a peliculas the axion. And if you want to ask, you can say Qurefz as peliculas, the axion, or the suspenso. So if you want to ask for preferences between one or the other, you say, Querifz a peliculas, the axion, or the suspenso. And now let's see the opposite. So we say Menkanta amo. Let's see what's the opposite. De testo Elago I don't like it at all. Detesto, detesto Los mosquitos. Audio as peliculas do ladas. So we can say no meusta de testo audio. All right. So there are three levels. And it depends on the person that is speaking. You don't have to use this if you know, don't feel like it. But this is a way that we can express preferences. So there are three different levels. So you can say Amo las peliculas. That's more than Musta. All right? How do we answer this question? We say Prefero I prefer Prefio las peliculas de axion. So as you can see, we have Mencanta, Mencantan for plural, ammo and then the opposite the testo audio. All right? Very good. Let's continue. Gute busta. If we're asking a person, what do you like doing, we say eustaa cosinar Mgusta as deportes. So maybe we can pause here a little bit for you to answer this question in the section in the comments below this video, and you can say Gee ustaer and you can say Musta and choose a verb about something that you like doing. All right. Let's continue. Dactca, this is practice for you. Responde as pregunta. There are three questions Tegusta as Jocots, DeGustaGutar, musica, Espanol, Tegusta visitar pais Nevs. So what you can do is answer these questions in the comments below, and you can also say ete Gustazer and I'll check it out and I'll give you feedback. Remember, there is more practice in the practice workbook, so I recommend that you go to Module six and you do that practice. So when we want to say, I like something, we use the phrase Mgusta Mustat Musta leer libros, Mgusta Bar salsa, Mgusta midaes, MgustaFootball, Mgusta la comida china. So we always use Mgusta when we're talking about ourselves. Okay? And as you can see, we can use a verb, come, L bailar, or we can use an article and an object, a noun, football, la comida china. So this is the first part, Mgusta. Now the opposite nomegsta nomegusa cosinar, nomegsta periodico, nomegsta bailar salsa, nomegsta mia peliculas, nomegsta Acer deportes, no megusta la musica classica. So it's the same. So you can use either a verb or a noun. Cosina er, they are verbs, or you can use a noun, a musica classica. And as you can see in Spanish, we use the no the negative part at the very beginning, nome gusta. We don't say Mgusta no, meno gusta, so no always goes at the beginning, nome gusta. Here we've seen Mgusta nome gusta. 30. Module 6 - Practise: In this exercise, you have to read and match the verbs with the right conjugation. In this case, the verb is calmer. I continue our Cornell proximal variable, lead. Loss per number is son Joe to Asia nosotros. Nosotros ages, ages. Where there's both sad and VD, lucky Lane, Lei, lei, Lei, less. Wow cell with a wacky but lost variables. Levels of Ed lab report does gel layer to less Asia, Lei, lei, most ACO's lane. We then excellent there. Remember here we have in this verb two vowels together that are the same and we pronounce them to less. Lay. Okay, So these pronunciation is a bit different. Let's continue. Vamos, a continuous variable, daughter meter, DNS, loss PRO numbers. So here you have the pronouns. You can pause the video here if you don't need the conjugation. Come who has young daughter memos? Do I do at mom, to other men, do atomists. Cell with a wacky, but as loss variables, ie less, sun, joe do at a mall to do at a mess? No. So trust me, most ACO's do at a men, maybe an excellent day. Auto variable, irregular, another irregular verb, vamos a continuous. Let's continue. Lay unitless variables. Data say, this is a reflexive verb. Again, remember, you have to add the pronoun at the beginning of the verb, Joel to know. So trust status, if you don't need the conjugation, you can pause the video here. Event does not live demos, relevant and irrelevant. Cell with a wacky, but basically villus variables. Ie less sun, you may live and to live and thus L, Sullivan know, so dress know Sullivan demos, ages, sell it and then maybe in Vamos I continue either. Lay Unidos variables data to give. Vamos a last request us to dass es Dann know so dress demos, status than more avian virus. I continue. Let's continue with more verbs. Variable barnett to put a key DNS, loss PRO numbers. So here you have the pronouns. Gon hold, osteon, Barnett, bone-in, bonus, Bango, famous bow cell with a wacky but SKT villus where it goes twice. That is your bone long as irregularities, one is irregular. Two bonus, born in North Salt respawn MOs, status, bone-in, Moravia and Vamos seconds. Let's continue variable Madison. And remember we use this verb when we want to say our name. And this is reflexive, but our number is Jill to address those. Xian, say Jama, Jama, Jama, they jam as nausea, mammals, palace, LBJ wacky, but it's grieving a loss variables. Vamos, a bad request does, DO media ammo to the jama, jama, know so dress, nausea memos or status, say German. Way Vn vowels, I continue adding proximal variable, next verb, then added to have to know. So dress Asia's you status. Gone. Who as young? Module 7 - The time and Spanish Verbs: All right, we reach Module seven, Modulo Cite. In this module, we're going to learn the time, Laura and Espanol. Verbs. We're going to see a few verbs and some words that are connected to these verbs and verbs in the present time. So this is very exciting because we're moving forward. I hope so far this course is going well. If you have any questions, you can write to me and I'll be happy to answer. So let's get started with the time. A ora. So whenever we want to say, what time is it or the time is, we always say aura. All right. So here we have a clock and we say son las pres sun as vis Imedia, sun as uns menos ventssO you can say menos ventsinco sun as nueve Icinco sun Las Quadro media, Sona Iquarto Sundia son las disdis. So as you can see the time in Spanish, it starts with son sun las tres, son las dies, son las se. And then we can say media, or we can say menos, if it's on this side, or we can say zinco if it's on this side of the clock, all right. I'm going to leave a few links for you to read more about the time in Spanish, and also don't forget to do the practice. All right. So Laura, read the time. So we say son as Dos EPunto Son a Cuatro Iino, sun as Once is, son las dos Iquato So Laino vente, son las ocho Event singo S aunamedia. One is the only time that we say S because it's singular. So whenever you see one una we say Saunaunamdia, always S. And then we have sun because it's sun las siete, menos ventsinco. You can also say sun Las rente Cinco if you are using the digital watch, but we can say also the other one sun la ete menos ventsinco. So a Cuatro, menos te, son las Once, Menos Quarto, son a zinco, Menos dies, so a Soto, Meno Cinco. So this is the same as or similar to English when we say it's 25 to seven. It's 224, it's a 10:45. So we say the same in Spanish, but using the word menos, all right? Anyway, this is also in the vocabulary workbook. So don't worry if you want to read this, you can check that in the vocabulary workbook. So to ask the time, we say Kos. And to answer, we say sun a Dosi media, E aun. All right. So this is how we say the time in Spanish. I recommend that you do the practice. There is video practice here, and there is also more practice in the workbook. So do that to remember how to say the time in Spanish. So let's continue with verbs. Verbos espanol. You probably have seen some of these verbs, and we're going to see a few and then we're going to conjugate them in the present symbol. Let's get started. Here we have ravjar Mar Dormire aprender, Cosinar Avelar EscribKer. So for example, here, we have Davajar that its to work, Aprendeprende Pale to learn Spanish. Av is when you are talking or you're speaking. Mira, we usually use it for miracs, mira peliculas to watch movies. And now we're going to see some actions that you can say connected to these verbs. Axions. You can say Travjarnubnco, leer un libro, mira la television, Dormire una siesta, that is to have an app Dormnaiesta, aprender, Espanol, cosinar comida china, abler Portelefono, escribir una carta, a letter, comer un salada, to eat salad. There are more phrases that you can use with these verbs and we're going to see them now, Travaja and Lina. Work online, Una revista, a magazine, mira una pelicula, a movie, Dormire vition aprender Unioma to learn a language. Cs in an casa, Ablarnmigo to talk with a friend, EscribirUcoeo, email, come and unretuante. Here you have phrases that you can use with these verbs. What I recommend is that you pause the video here and write a few other phrases that you can come up with or phrases that are true for you, for example, for me, would be true RuivroTrana, mira la television, Dorm a siesta. Yes, sometimes aprender un idioma, cosinan casa to cook at home. Think of phrases that can be true for you. All right. Now we're going to see how we conjugate the verbs in Spanish. Let's get started. 32. Module 7 - Regular Verbs in Spanish: So now we're going to see how to conjugate verbs in the present symbol, present simple verbs regulars. So as I said before, there are two types of verbs in Spanish, regulars regulars. So we're going to start with regular verbs regulars because they are easier, and then you can follow a pattern, so it's not that difficult. So remember, in the vocabulary workbook, you'll have a list of verbs, so you can have a look at that and see how the verbs are formed and conjugated for each pronoun. So we're going to see a list of three verbs. Remember all the pronouns, Jo, and here we have the verb Travajar. So we say Jo travajoT travajaE travajaEja travajaustd Travaja, nosotros, nosotras TravajamsEj, Ejas TravaganUusteds, Travajans Travajas. So here, look at the ending. So it's all I work Jo travajoT Travajas there is an S, at Travaja, nosotros Trav jams, Eij Travagant Travaj, there is an N, and then Vos Travajaz. There are other verbs for example, viajar to travel, Jo viajo, and it's the same conjugation. Via ho via jas via, via, via Jams, viajan via Jaz. So if the verb is regular, if it ends in R, it's going to have this conjugation. All right. Now, if the verb is like comer, and it ends in RER, we say como comes, Come, Aja Come usted Come, nosotros comemos, Agos coming, ustedes coming, Vos comes. So if we have a regular verb that ends in air, the conjugation is going to beat this one. Okay? For example, Bb to drink, Bevo Bbes, Bebe bebemos, Bebe Beves. All right. So you have to learn first which ones are regulars, which ones are irregular, and then you can conjugate them for each person. And the last one is vivir. This is a regular verb to live. So all the regular verbs that end in R E E are going to conjugate in the same form. Vivo, Jo vivo, I leave two Vives Vive, Aga vive, usted vive, nosotros vivimos, Ego Cejas viven ustedes, viven, Vos vivis. So this is a conjugation for the verbs end in R. All right. These are three examples of regular verbs. Where you can do now is write a few sentences. You can pause the video, I have the practice here, practica. You can write phrases with these verbs crib phrases Coerbos. So you can say, Jo Travajo Lina, M Esposa come un salada, mis Primos Viven in Canada. So my wife eats a salad. My cousins live in Canada. So use these verbs that we have seen here and write phrases about you, about, I don't know, your children, about your family, about a friend, and then try to mix this with some other phrases. Remember Vivid, you can say Vividnasuda, Vivinapartaeno, Vivi una casa, Travajarnna Ficinanubanco. So remember the phrases we saw before. And try to conjugate these three ones. You can leave comments here in this module and I'll have a look and give you feedback of the sentences you're writing. I definitely recommend that you try to conjugate as many verbs as possible because that will give you practice, right? Remember, there is practice in the workbook, so I highly suggest that you go to the workbook and you do that practice because there are a lot of things that you can do in order to memorize this. This is the first time that you might see these verbs and the tens, the present tense. So take it easy. You'll get there, and practice always helps. In the next module, we're going to continue with the verbs and we'll get more practice. So let's continue. 33. Module 7 - Practise the time: Practica louder that time. So what do you have to do here is write the time, is grieving it louder. So here you have these times and you have to write the full time. Remember, it's half-past £10 albedo. Louder. Pause the video here to write the time. Let's see the answers. Son loves this idea. So last Dawson, son, less A's event, the sun less auto EDS is low. Now remember that when we have one o'clock, it's always singular s, and the rest is always plural son. You can pause here if you want to check. Let's see the next times. Video, but I scream louder. Pause the video here to write the times. Let's see the answers. Son less quadro Emalia. So let say menos seem calm. Remember when you want to say five to 12 or five to ten, you always say menos is equal to ds men no square root though. So unless those event is income less Yeti is Ingo. You can pause the video here if you want to check and let continue with the next exercises of the time. But actually more seconds Theseus then our ADA. So here you have to write code IS what time is it? Less dosing. You can pause the video after I show the clock in case you want to write. That is, the answer is sown less cinco anos quarter, a quarter to five. So unless cinco anos, what IS that? Is, the answer is less quadro equal, though? That is, and the answer is. So unless yet the media, that is, and the answer is, so lustrous is equal to k or days. That is a slow. Now, if you want to go back to these times exercises, remember you can pause, go back. If you have any questions or any doubts. Don't forget, you can write in the comments below. I'll see you on the next video. 34. Extra Lesson - Food in Spanish: in this lesson, you learn vocabulary connected to food. You're gonna read a dialogue in a restaurant, and I'm going to give a very important advice to learn more vocabulary connected to food menus on restaurant. So watch out for that tape, La comedia. If we're going to talk about food, we can say I like or I don't like as we've seen in previous lessons on and these are typical dishes that you probably know. So we have, um Borg Esa speaks up last bhaiyya So really, you know, these type of food there so typical in the Spanish speaking world on we love it. So if you want to say I like hamburger, I like pasta in Spanish. You would say make Busta Lamberg esa maybe hasta la pasta. If you want to say that you don't like you would say No May Costa left, speaks them. No, may go. Stop laugh by again. Here we have other four dishes, so we have. Garnett commonly means meat in Salada Bible. That's turkey bore you chicken. So if you want to say I eat meat or I eat Saleh's in Spanish, you would say Cuomo, Cardinal Cuomo in Salalah If you want to say I don't it turkey or I don't eat chicken, You would say no. Cuomo Pavel No coma Rodeo. So here, off course you contains the birth. You can say I cook meat casino turning or you can say Kato ordinance another. I want a silent KEDO onen salada. So these are just examples or how you can use thes works into sentences. But you can make your own. These are more examples with different verbs. Um, first, let's have a look at the dishes. So we have g. So they'll and they has. This is the lentils do g. So they lend. They has this, you know, breakfast. We've seen it before for the deaths. They're Liudas the capitalists. So you can either say they're Liudas or the hit. That list. It's just a question of preference. Some examples on the left so we can say I cook lentils to casino. GSO villain has If you want to say I make the breakfast ago Eldest You know, if you want to talk about likes and dislikes, maybe Houston last fruit us. Remember that gustan It's it's used when the Risa plural object in this case last fruit Us or the negative? No. May go, Stan. Last very Liudas. So remember when we learned about boost Augustan? Okay, so this is an example. These are the meals off the day. Go meet us. So first, no matter you know this, you know, no matter, those are more so I more so no matter. Dress Mary in the 1,000,000. That would be in some countries. Like, for example, in Argentina around. Let's say 456 oclock, we have midi India. That means that we have coffee, tea or whatever Drink and yeah, Maday if you know what it means with biscuits or we have prisons. So this is, I guess knock. Okay. Muffins as well. Numeral Platero say now that's dinner. So they said, you know, on a more too. So Midian the say no the four meals off the day 35. Extra Lesson - Reading about Food in Spanish: pickle. Miss, what do you eat? So here we have a very short text on what I'm gonna do. It's gonna read this text and then you can pass the video. Read after me. Andi, Read aloud, of course. And then you can pass in order to find a write down. The words used to teach eat to write the new vocabulary or verbs. Or if you want to ride a phrase or something. Used the's time when you pulse the video to write down notes, so you don't forget. So I'm gonna start reading. So that's less notice. But it bado last Dana, maybe we'll stop Cassina Sopa s parity either Liudas. But I but at a sopa is simply cremate. Oh, Korda's lever Dudas for the him Blow Pappas Santa or areas say Borgias. Ah ho! Up you Eagle Abaza! Bonus Arwa in noona Audio. But Freedom Bonus cell opinion Casinos Fortuna Ahora Elista. Okay. And then you compulsive video here to write down the words or the new words Any list out every day. So here we have another short text with, um with different words connected to eating in a restaurant. So you have in rather which means starter plateau princip. Fine. Which means the main course upholstery, which means dessert and then Boever, which means to drink. So I'm gonna read this text. What do you have to do is after I read you post the video you read out loud and then you right then you words down. So listen carefully and lost. Rest out on this. The Ennis and brother in Salata also a bladder principle. Well, they said Garnick um Pappas speak, sir. Passed. A consul said it don't matter on Borges, Accomp oppa's freed us in bolstering Whether said a lot of the took a latte Oklahoma flan Awful does. But I've ever had weather still matter. We know Blanco o Tinto I well, desio PSA all said Bassem something that I want to say its thesis just and just for you to know I say Pappas in order to refer to potatoes. But in some countries, they say, But that us so if you say Pappas free dance or but that does what he does, it will make a difference. And it's just a preference. Andi, it don't matter. It also means drink. Okay, so but everywhere where this tomar to drink, you can drink or you can have vino Blanco Tinto, Allah gaseous a gaseous. For me, it's all the fizzy drinks in some other countries. They're cold, ref recalls. And it could be Coca Cola. Fonda. OK, it's just a matter off warrior where you are at the moment. So, Cascio said, it means that it comes or it has gas so gassy Osa. But in some other countries, they say, rephrase schools or the use other words. This is just like a cultural thing for here to remember you compulsive video now. 36. Extra Lesson - Reading a Menu in Spanish: here. We have an example off a menu. We call it Menu Meno. So you have in rather on the left, at the top starter below you have plateau Principal Main course on the right. At the top you have baby deaths. That means drinks on below that you have upholstery. That means dessert. So this is an example of a menu. So it's a starter and brother. You can have sopa in Salada, and here you have a few ingredients you have no matter. Lechuga san Aurea Blatter Principle speaks at the mozzarella can make comp Abbas a spaghetti consult on Borges that come Pappas Free Death, Baby, That's vino Dassey osa. Or if Riko Allah said of Baesa, upholstery through does flan. A lot of the chocolaty Oh crema, this is a typical menu. You can what? I advises that you go, Teoh, you search on Google different restaurants in Spain and Colombian Peru and have a look at the menu. You can do this online on its for free. On you will see different dishes. In general, they are all translated into English, so you have an advantage. Don't have to use a dictionary to translate, but have a look at the words, because if you go to a more local restaurant, it won't probably be translated. So have a look at words like, for example, G so or sopa and have a look at ingredients if it has Darvon, SOS beans or if it has been said that bacon. So this is my piece of advice when you are learning food fine restaurants online from different countries on rate the menus. This is when you are at a restaurant, so we have the waiter. It's most so or Tom Barredo. It's It's the same word, but with different. Let's say preferences. I would say Mosul, But I know I know that in other countries they say Tamarikido. I say most soul can my Rado because he's a man. If it's a waitress, I would say most Come on, my data, what he's writing. It's the the order, and in Spanish, you say, or then Bedi don't then the people there. The man is ugly and they miss a table. The woman is looking at the menu may know, and they're in a restaurant dress down day 37. Extra Lesson - At a Restaurant Practise: This is sambal off a Diallo. So we have the waiter and then we have another person. Okay, The clients. So what I'm gonna do, it's gonna read thes conversation and then you will pulse and you will repeat after me. You were read aloud. You will use all your intonation on all the Spanish accent that you have learned on. You will practice this dialogue polls as well to write down works that you don't know. OK, so listen carefully. Oh, yeah. See Mesa Barreto's but a key. But the most fair Elma New see Get in order than Adam. See Caro Una sopa and brother e Kato Hamburg ECE Calm Pappas free. Who stands senior KEDO Onen Salada, Yatra Borges Sekem pappa's I get asked. Yes, but I don't matter ghetto now. Quiero una cerveza por favor. Okay. You can pause the video here. Good luck. So when we're sitting at a table, we'll see these things. So we have a napkin which is on the plate. And that's several. Yet them said of yet them. Then we have the glass vassal. We have the spoon Go Chadha who Chadha Then we have the knife. Good todo cool t you, Then we have the plate blood door and then we have a fork. 10 is or Dan named order. Okay, so when a repeat o the works and then you repeat after me said of yet there. Vaso. What? Adam booty. Yo, plateau. Stan is order. Okay, great. What we can do to practice practica. So number one look at a menu in Spanish. As I said before, any restaurant in the world on order, things you would like to eat. For example then Brother Kirill Salada, the Salomon, the plateau principal Kyodo Lasagna hit Arianna. But everybody or but that don't matter. Gov No Dean. The post re care of flan. Programa So in English, you would say, Let's say as a main course I want or to start ways I want in Spanish, we use the proposition Then then, brother, as a starter, I want okay or for this doctor, or to begin with, we use the proposition. They So you say then rather the plateau principle. The poster. And then we use the work Kyodo. I want Chiaro in Salada Salman Pierrot Lasagna, Pierrot Flan, Gramma. Okay. And then no matter those answer the questions below on right about it. Adversity that you could use but it bad Cassina, Gomera. Busta. No matter, baby. So the first question is, Keiko Miss, what do you eat? This? You know all more? Some 1,000,000 DNA is Aetna. So what do you eat for breakfast? Lent it's neck on dinner and then get Gomez. El Salvador. El Domingo. What do you eat on Saturday? And what do you eat on Sunday? So you can say I prepare a big meal. I cook lasagna or every Sunday I eat. Pastor, I like drinking red wine so right, truly about what to do. What you like? What to drink, what to prepare, Unused it in Spanish. This is the best way to memorize works on especially vocabulary connected with food. So enjoy this practice on def. You have any comments? Right below. See? In the next lesson. 38. Oscar I Mariela Estudian architectura. They studied architecture, Mariela elevntaOto media. So she gets up at 8:30. So here we have the two uses of the present symbol, right? Describir Avitos rutins so let's read. Here we have three text. So I'm going to read it first. And what you can do is pause the video and then you can read it. Okay? So pause this video here if you want to read the text, and we'll continue with more verbs. 40. Module 8 - Irregular Verbs in Spanish Present: In this video, we're going to see presente de vos regulars. So far, you have seen verbs in Spanish, phrases that go to those verbs, presentmle Verbs regulars and how we conjugate those verbs. You've seen the usage of present in play in Spanish, you've seen reflexive verbs and how we conjugate them. So now what you're going to do is go a step further and we're going to see Verbos irregulars. So I'm going to show you how we change some of the verbs. This is not the only rule. There are other rules for irregular verbs. I'm going to leave a few links under this video if you want to read a bit more about how to form the present symbol in Spanish. All this information will also be in the Wdbooks. So don't forget to go there and have a look at it if you want to have it at hand. So let's get started with irregular verbs in Spanish. So I'm going to show you three, for example, comenzar to start. So we say, Jo Comienzo, I start, two ComenzasEEsa, usted Comienza, nosotros, nosotras, Comenzamos, Agos Asia SustedsKensa, s Comenzas. So here I highlighted I marked EA. As you can see, this here, comenzar changes to Comienzo. Two comienzas, as I said before, nosotros nosotras comen Samos. It has no change. We keep the comen Samos. And then vos comenzas is the same. It doesn't change. So here is irregular in all these pronouns, but nostra nosotras Evos. All right. So comenzar to start. As to do or to make Jo ago Look at that. We add a G. Jo ago. Two as LEA as, nosotras nosotras amos EoE ustedes assent, boss ***. Here, it's only irregular in the first person, Jo ago. I don't say show ago, show ago, we change the C for a G. But then it's regular in all the rest of the pronouns. So I know this might be like, why is this like this? Okay, these are spelling rules in Spanish that the more you practice at the more and the more you read, the more you listen, the better you will remember because sometimes they don't make any sense. And I do understand because I've talked about this with my students many times, and it could be a bit difficult at the beginning, but the more you use these verbs, it would be easier in the future. So this is just the start, right? This is an introduction. There are a lot of more verbs. So I said to do or to make only regular in the first person. Let's see the last verb, which is to go. So this changes completely. We never use the first Jo voi, I go to vast vamos vos vas. So as you can see, this changes for all the pronouns. So my idea with this introduction is to tell you that sometimes irregular verbs will change for most of the pronouns. Sometimes I only change for one pronoun as JoAgo and sometimes they change for all the pronouns. How do I know which verb will change? Well, this is learning. So this will involve you to have a look at the verbs, or you can read short stories and try to pay attention to how the verbs are conjugated. A good idea is to start with children's books. They are very useful for this conjugation at the very beginning. So you can pay attention to how articles are placed. Nouns are written, how verbs are conjugated. So my piece of advice is to read as much as possible and pay attention, not to the story, but pay attention to how the sentences are formed. Okay? This will give you a better understanding, and then you will see verbs and you will start recognizing and identifying whether they are regular or irregular. So this is just an introduction. You'll have a list of verbs in the Wbook so you can check them there as well. So sentences in the affirmative Oraciones affirmativas. Boy vanco. I go to the bank, and remember we saw this contraction. I go to the vanco, but we contract that. So remember that explanation in previous lessons. E Comienza esque, he starts school. Vamos Al Parke, we go to the park, Duermo siesta, I have an app, and and then Espanol, they understand Spanish. Voi supermercado, Voi supermercado, but it's contracted oil supermercado. These sentences are in the affirmative form, Afirma Divo. You can pause the video here if you want to read the sentences out loud or if you want to write them in your copybook. Negativo. Remember in the previous video, I said the negative, it's always formed in the same way. Do you remember? Let's see, Vo vanco in the negative is novo Avanco, no Comienza que, nova M Aalparke, nouarmla siesta, no entiende Espanol, no Voel Super Mercado. So remember the negative is always no at the beginning. And now, do you remember how to ask questions ree guntas? What do we change? The intonation. So for example, vas al vanco, Comienza que vamos parte Epaglo vasal supermercado. So as you can see, I didn't ask like Voya supermercado, do I go to the supermarket? So I changed to you too so we can ask somebody else instead of ourselves. So as you can see, oi I change for vas. So do you go? It makes more sense that do I go. But remember, for questions, we changed the intonation Voy Vanco, affirmativo vasal vanco, pre unta. Comienza Qla affirmativo Comienza pregunta. So what you can do here is pause this video and practice in these sentences as you did in the previous lesson and try to remember the intonation and pay attention to how the verbs are formed. So before we continue with the next part, we're going to see other verbs that are irregular. For example, Ace and I'm going to give you a few phrases that go with these verbs. Ago acama. When you want to say that you make the bed, ago acama these are all for Jo, all right? I make the bed. Ago El de sa juno, ago a Tarea. Ago favor a Mia Migo. We always say, I make the bed, I make breakfast, I do the homework, I do a favor to my friend, Ago as compras. Poner, this is to put poner BongolosPltos, and La Mesa, I put the plates on the table, Pongo Lamesa, Pongo Dinero. So when we are having dinner with friends, I say, Oh, Pongo Dinero O Pongo Ventino Doles, Pongo Dies Doles. This is like to chip in money. Oder, to be able to or can Puedo ablaEspa, Puedo quia as Montanas. As you can see, these three verbs are all irregular. Joago as we saw before, Jo Pongo, I put Puedo, so we change the O for ue Puedo. I don't say podo. I say Puedo, we always have a verb after I can speak Spanish. Puedo a bla Espanol. Puedo square as Montanas. Let's see two more verbs. Querer to one, quiero aprender Espanol. I want to learn Spanish. Quiero quiero un libro uebo. Here, we don't say quedo. We say quiero. Here we have E. Kio Jo Kero, I want Kero I want to read. So is similar to Poder we need a verb aprender, er, or we can use an object, Kero unlibroNevo. I want a new book. All right. And the last one that to give Doi propina Doinamno A. So I jo Doi. As you can see, this is irregular. All right, because we use O and Y Doi we don't say that we say Doi. These five verbs are irregular. So you can pause the video here if you want to practice saying the sentences or maybe changing the sentences in the negative or reading them in the affirmative. The practice you have to do a practicas is crib ore de Lunes Avines, Vivo Euna casa, vivo cofamilia, cocino Pasta, ensaladas, no miro pelliculs Aprendospaol, Lelibros Ira vistas. Something you can do is go back or you can have a look at the workbook and use the verbs that appear there to write about you. You can write a small text, and this is very exciting because it's going to be your first text in Spanish and try to use as many verbs as possible that are true for you, all right? Because then it will be more useful. So you can also talk about who you live with, where do you live, what you do, try to use verbs like Oder like the ones we saw here. As q. So you will have all these conjugations in the verb list in the workbook. So you can have a look at that and then you can use some of the verbs and some of these phrases to write about you and leave that paragraph in the comments so I can give you feedback. And this will be your first text in Spanish, so it's very exciting. I hope you can do the practice, and we'll continue with two more modules, and we're ready to finish this course. So let's continue. 41. Module 8 - Reflexive Verbs in Spanish: In this video, we're going to learn about VerbosRflexibos, reflexive verbs, and I'll show you a few photos, and then you'll understand why we call them VerbosRflexibos. So here we have epi jars los VentesO you can also say epi jars Los vienes. Remember the DL pronunciation. Ducharse epiars Cavego Cavego is this here, epiarz CabgoVas despertar machiace stirirs to live. We say these are verbos reflexivos because we do them to ourselves. So Duchars I do it for myself or by myself. Yes, epiarz Caveo you can see all these people are doing stuff for themselves. We call them verbos reflexivos you can see here, they all end in se Duchar se Banner se se. So you can say to go ir. But if you add se, it means that you are leaving the house, your office, you know, se. Vestir you are putting on clothes or you are dressing up yourself. So stir se. These are some of the reflexive verbs. You can see them in the workbook. So if you want to have a look at the verbs again, you'll you have them there. So don't worry about it. And you will also have the conjugation we're going to see now. So if I want to say that I brush my hair, I would say jo me sepijo. Two the epigas L sepia, Aga usted sepiga nosotros nosotras no sepijamsEjega, sesepigstds sesepiga vs Thesepijas. Remember, I say for the double L, but you can also say MesepioTsepas esepia. This is a reminder of the pronunciation and the accent. If you want to say that you brush your hair or you brush your teeth, you say me. Okay. If you're talking about another person, you say the. If you're talking about, he, or, the formaU you say se. If you're talking about, nostro nos sepiga the EoEpjs the other U, the epigas. So remember this me, the se nos. Let's see another verb, still se. Put on clothes, MevistoTt vistsEesevite, nosotros, novestimsUsts, Egaeviste vs Tvestis. As you can see, vest se, I marked here the I because this is an irregular verb. We're going to see them later on, so don't worry. But just as an introduction, here you can see vests is with A. But here, when we conjugates with E, just a reminder, we're going to see this later. But this is an example of an irregular verb because it changes A for E. Epi is regular. You see the epiga it's still here, epiga se Piga, so there is no change, as we saw with the other three verbs, trabajar, Comer Vivid. So this is just a mini intro. Let's see the next verb despertasT is to wake up despertas Medsperto I wake up, Mspiertonve at nine, despiertas a despierta, not desperto, uses despierta, Vespertas. So here, again, I marked E A because this is a change and this is an irregular verb despertas A, EA. This is for you to start understanding that this is how we form irregular verbs. Probably you have noticed that for not nosotras, there is no change. It says vestimos not vistimos. So it can be that the verbs could be irregular for some pronouns, and then they can be regular for others. This is something that will happen in Spanish and you'll see it more often now maybe this is the first time you are learning about this and it could be a bit confusing, but don't worry. This is something that you will understand and you'll remember, and then you'll put it into practice more naturally. But because this is the first time if I me too much, don't worry. Little by little, you will remember all these rules. But maybe in case you have noticed despertamos stimos are regular because they don't change. All right. So remember to brush, to dress, to wake up, Spies despertar. We don't have reflexive verbs, for example, come because we don't say me coomo that would be I eat myself. So it's with verbs that we can do on ourselves, okay? Like to brush, to put a makeup, mem chijio because I do it on myself, right? So these are reflexive verbs. Go to the workbook. The vocabulary workbook has these verbs and the conjugation as well. All right, let's continue. How do we make these sentences in the affirmative form? Spertomdia. I wake up at 7:30, despierta temprano, nos Vamve we live at nine. Mevao Alla Noche. Remember Noche night, Sevan Aaa afternoon. They live in the afternoon. Me Macijo Alla Mena. I put on makeup in the morning. So this is the affirmative sentences, Medspertosperta. And as you can see, I wrote Jo L nosotros between parentheses because we don't actually need them, right? Be nos vamos, I know we're talking about we, but you can say it if you want to emphasize. Now, let's see the negative negativo, nomespert media. No despierta, temprano, no nos Vamos, Ala Noueve, no M vano Alla Noche, no Sevan a tarde, no me Macijo la manana. As I said before, the negative in Spanish is always no, and it always goes at the beginning. You see, no me spierto no despierta, no, nos vamos. This is quite easy because if you want to say something in the negative form, you choose a no, at the beginning, and that's it. You don't have to think of any other auxiliaries or anything else. I think you have enough with all the conjugation, so the negative is easy. Nop. Now let's see if we want to ask a question. Because I'm not going to ask myself Medspo, we're asking you, Ma. So as you can see, it's the same sentence in the affirmative, seven. What changes is intonation. You can say in the affirmative form, for example, Perta temprano. This is, you know, affirmative sentence. L Perta temprano. But if you want to ask a question, you just change your intonation. Pita temprano. All right. So you have to go a bit up because there are no other markers for questions, no other auxiliaries. So the only thing that you have to do is change your intonation. Nos vamos. We live at nine. No. Do we leave at nine? The intonation changes. This is easier as well. I recommend that you pause the video here if you want to practice, say in these sentences, especially Affirmativo and preguntas. You can practice the intonation of these two sentences. Let's continue now with irregular verbs. 42. Module 9 - Describing where things are: Now that we have seen all the vocabulary in the classroom, we're going to start learning prepositiones, prepositions in Spanish, and at eros the lug adverbs of place. So I'm going to show you the same classroom, and I'm going to read a few sentences where things are located, and you can pose a video if you want to read it out loud. But anyway, all this vocabulary will be in the workbook, so don't worry about it. So let's start Estanteta Devajo del reloj so remember we saw in previous lessons the verb ta, which is to B. So we're saying here the shelf is below the clock. So remember when we're talking about ubicacion location and position position, we always use the verb ta. All right. So you're going to see here in all the sentences, the same verb ta. So here we say. And remember, we saw the contractions in Spanish. So we say the plus D. We don't say the ER, we say del La Mochilt Bajo a Mesa. The school bag is under the table. As you can see, both of them are similar. This is the ajo DR, and this is Bajo. The difference is that the ones that are underlined are adverbs of place and the blue ones are preposition. Bajo is e preposition. Bajo is a preposition. All right? As carpetas de apises. These are the pencils. The folders are underneath the pencils, lapses. Pista, El Mata tavajo desante. Let's see the following ones. Elg ta, Sima de Dante. The clock is above the shelf. Elgtam desante Los Librostan sobre la mesa. The books are on the table. Here we have a set of books. Los LibrostanPlural, sobre la mesa. Os lapses, Estan, Sima de las carpetas. We saw the Bajo de and now we are seeing Sima above. Los apises the pencils, tan. We use a plural and Sima de las carpetas, the folders. La plasticola esta sobre la mesa. The glue is on the table. La Plasticolare esa escritorio. You can pause the video here if you want to read this sentence is out loud. Los Paplesan Ncesto. The papers are Los Paplescesto in the bin, and some are outside but these ones are in Ecesto. Los libros is tan in a Biblioteca. The books are in the bookcase. Os libros Estan la caja LatijeraEta a Cartuchera. We want to say inside or in, we use the preposition and atijeraa Cartuchera La pizarra esta entre estante biblioteca. This one means the board is between Entre Estela biblioteca, between the shelf and the bookcase. Os lapses, E pencils, lapses, EtntreEGlobo achioa Cartuchera. Here we have two prepositions N entre. El Mpatrascritorio. The map is behind the desk, detras de Escritorio contraction, a pizarra state Mesas in front of the tables. La Mestre Esta Ado dela Mesa. She's next to the table. Laczata detras de la mesa. So the chair is behind the table. And as you can see here, we say detras de la mesa, because it's feminine, so the. But here, because it's cretorios masculine, we contract the, remember that rule. Esta Aado de la pizara. So the clock is next to the board, Aado de la pizara. All these are adverbs of place, Alado detras de frente, and cerca Puerta cerca del cesto. We saw this word cerca in previous lessons and it means near a Puerta cerca del cesto. So the door is near the bin. You can pause this video here if you want to read the word aloud, but now we're going to see a summary of the prepositions and the adverbs. Prepositions. So we saw N Entre Bajo sobre. Here we have a photo with some of the objects we have just seen. And what you could do now to practice these prepositions and Entre Bajo sobre is to think of a few sentences to describe where the objects are. Remember to use the verb esta. For example, you can say Eordnadorta sobre la mesa, and you can use some of these sentences to describe this picture. I recommend that you pause the video now, so I will give some of the sentences. So the sentences could be a Artuchera, Esta Sobreamesa, a Plasticola Esta Sobreamesa, E ordenador Esta entre a Artuchera, a plasticola a caja Esta Bajo La Mesa, los libros, estan en la caja. These are a few examples that you can say connected to this image. Now, let's see adverbs adverbs of place. We saw the Vajode Sima, detras de frente, do, cerca de. You'll have these words in the wbooks don't worry about writing them down because you have everything in the wbooks. In these lessons, we saw vocabulary connected to the class, prepositions and adverbs of place, well done. Let's continue with the next part of this module. 43. Module 9 - The classroom in Spanish: We are in Module nine, modular Neve. In this module, we're going to learn vocabulary connected to the class like lasse, prepositions, preposition and Epanle and present progressive EpresentePgresivo, and Epanol. We're going to see vocabulary loads of vocabulary connected to the classroom. This might be useful for you if you are thinking of taking lessons in center or in the school or if you are already taking lessons, these are words that you might have used in your class. We're going to see prepositions to say where things are located. And then we're also going to say, what we are doing at this moment with the present progressive. I'm very excited because we're getting to the end of the course, and let's continue with the vocabulary. So here we have a class, and I recommend is that you listen to my pronunciation and how I say the words, and then you pause the video and you can repeat after or you can read all the words. You can also pause every time I say any word, right, because there are many. So let's get started. The first one is. Estante Pizara or Pizara. You choose your pronunciation. Car tucera, tijera, Globo Terracouerta, Dancho cesto. This is the ben. Mochil PandeaTarpetas, Brador Siga or Cia, plus Ticola Lapis, Taha, Box, maestra, teacher, ordenador, Mata, Escritorio Mesa, Gua Derno. Here you have all the words. You can pause the video here, but remember all these words are also in the vocabulary workbook. 44. Module 9 - Demonstratives in Spanish: In this video, we're going to see demonstrativos, posesivos. So we're going to talk about demonstratives and possessives in Spanish. So let's get started. Continuing the vocabulary of the class. Here we have a picture with two people so Daniela Diablo, Estan r Ganisando Suso getos descue. The qin is cada cosa. Daniela and Pablo are organizing their objects or their school objects, so we have to say which one belongs to whom. Okay? So remember, we have libros, the NemosUna Cartuchera, Lapis, Dijeas, Plast Cola, Guaderno there is a copybook. We have another Cartucera, another Libro so here I'm going to show you a few dialogues. What you can do is feel free to pause the video at any moment, or you can wait til I read all the dialogue, and then you can pause and read the dialogue out loud. So this is your choice, right? So Daniela is asking, Ist Mlibros Is this to libro? No. No Es Milibrouaderno. So he's talking about this copybook Guaderno. Qual. Which one? Qual El Guadero Questa Bajo Cartucheraul, Ecuader Esta E tutijera Es Mi tijera, Tutijera Es a Roja, questa detras, los Lapis es. Mica Tuchera Libro to Este Misa ******. So they are close to the table, and Daniela is asking, or Daniela is saying, Estos son mis libros. So these are my books. Estes to libro. So she's pointing at the red one. Estes tibro No, no Es Libro. Esta is this your copybook? Which one Qual Ecuaderno questa dejo, de la Car tucherauladerno, questa dejo de la Cartuchera Zul. Do you remember the Bajo under the blue pencil case. C, E MiguadernoE tutijera. This one, the yellow one, amiga, C, E M tijera, two tijera, a Roja, esta detras de lapses. Here we have red scissors, una tijera, Roja, detras de los lapses, Mica TucheraEta tras libros, it's this one. Esto, what is this? Este misa CabuntasPencil sharpener. This is my pencil sharpener. As you can see, in this dialogue we have Ms, two M and then we have Eta toss Can you start to figuring out which ones are demonstratives and which ones are possessives? For example, if I say Msibros, can you start understanding the use and the form TibroTtiha and then tos Let's see now what are they and when do we use them? We have the mostrativs. In the previous dialogue, when we have the question, esto, what is this? We don't know, it's neutral. She replies, tsa ca Bundas. This is my pencil sharpener, and because it's masculine, we say ET When it's neutral, we say to. When it's plural, we say tos. When it's feminine, we say Eta. Okay. Remember, stat. What is this? Eta mi Cartuchera. This is my pencil case. Et Mlibro, this is my book. Remember, it depends if the noun is feminine, masculine, also singular plural. Or neutral, sibs. If I'm talking about my stuff, I'm going to say me missestroestra, estroestraus, so sus. Why do we have two? Because one is for singular and the other is for plural. I can say este Mlibro estos son mis libros. It depends if the noun is plural, I say miss. If the noun is singular, I say M. I can also talk about your school objects and I can say estos son tus libros. E is too liberal. I will depend on the object. But these are the possessive, we say MT Zu In the case of nuestro, it depends. We can say nuestro nuestra masculino femenino. Este is nuestro libro. Eta is nuestra lase Estos son nuestros libros. These are our books. Esta sun nuestras dijeras. Okay. So it depends on the noun. Don't worry about this. We're just seeing an introduction. It might look like a lot, but all this information is in the wbooks? We're going to get some practice so you can revise these new grammar topics. So practica, this is what we're going to do now. Midas Objetossponde, de quienes you can say the sentences that you can say is Eta is sumo chil, Eta is Mimo chil, eso son mis relojes. I will depend on the person we're talking about. As we saw before, you'll probably need your workbook because you will need these words according to each person, and you will also need these according to if they are masculine or feminine. MgtosRsponde, de quien is. The ttola. Who is this glue? Imagine the answer is maestra. How can we say this is her glue? How do we say this in Spanish? You can pause the video here because I'm going to show you the answer. Eta is Zu plasticla. This is her glue, Eta is su plasticla because we're talking about the teacher, Asia. Asia Zutu plasticla. Imagine we want to say this is his laptop. You can pause the video because I'm going to show you the answer. S is ser Dnador. This is his laptop, S, ser Dnador. Remember, because we are talking about ordenador is masculine, we say STTis is his laptop. De chins staar tuchera Jo. I have to say this is my pencil case. How do I say that? Pause the video. Esta is M car Tuchera. This is my pencil case. Esta is Mica Tuchera. De chien son Esta Librosa Mrmano. I want to say they are my brothers. These books are his. So how do I say this in Spanish? Pause the video. Estos son sus libros. Because libros is plural, estos son sus libros, his books sus libros. Good. Let's continue. The genes is ta tijera, Epa notras. I want to say these are our scissors. How do I say that? Pause the video. Esta is nuestra tijera, Because it belongs to us Nuestra tijera. The gins telappesta too. I want to say this is your pencil. How do I say this in Spanish? Pause the video. Respuesta T two lapis. This is your pencil, Lapis is masculino, t is singular, two lapis. This is your pencil. Let's continue. DkensnEta Cosas and a caja. Here we're asking about these things Estas Cosas and a caja. These things in the box. Respuesta Jo. I want to say these are my things in the box. How do I say that in Spanish? Pause the video. Estas so miss Cosas. These are my things. Miss Cosas Cosas is feminine, so I say Estas. Tengo, miss Libros, miss GafAsParalle, miss Quadernos. I have my books, miss Libros, miss Ga fas Paralle my glasses to read, miss Cuadernos my copy books. Because this is plural, I say miss. And then GAFAs mis libros plural miss. Well done. Let's continue with the next topic which is presente progresivo present continues. Let's move on. 45. Module 9 - Talking about current actions : For the last video in this module, we're going to learn presente pro besivoPresent continues in Spanish. We're going to see how to form it and when do we use it. So let's get started. Presente probo. If we want to form the verb or the verb phrase, I am doing, we use the verb Eta. If you remember when we were learning the uses of S and star in previous lessons, I said, one of the uses of Eta is action, things that we are doing now. So this is what we have seen before. It's going to be here. It's the same thing. So we use a verb Eta dot trav. I am working. Tu estas viviendo, you are living. Esta Es Cucendo he is listening. Eg comiendo eating, usted esta Ablando the formal, you are speaking. Nostro nosotras Estamos Aciendo we are doing or we're making Ego eat Escriviendo. They are writing, stendo, you are going. Os estas legeno or Leeno. So as you can see, we conjugate first the verb esta esto esta esta, estamos estan, and then we use the verb with the gerund Travan viviendo, Es cucano comiendo. There are two different ones. This is the verb to go. So look at this. Can you recognize this verb? What type of verb is it? Is it regular or irregular? It is irregular. The verb to go, eat, and the verb to read led they are irregular in the germ form. For you to remember verbos regulares, they end in R, so we do trabajar ravagEcucar Escucendo. E, we write endo. For example, comer comiendo aer aciendoen verbs ending endo, vivir viviendo, Escrib Escribeno Verbs regulares, endo endo, L legendo or legendo diciendo, as you can see, I change the a for E, thes diciendo. These are some examples of irregular verbs in the progressive form. There are more, so I'm going to leave a link below this video for you to read an article connected to the progressive tense in Spanish. And remember that all these conjugation is also in the Wbook in the vocabulary workbook. So if you want to have a look at it, it's there and there is also practice in the Wbook Module nine. So go there and do the practice. There are a few exercises that I highly recommend you do them so you can get used to this new form, right? But let's do some practice before we finish this module. Here we have a photo of students in school. It says their Escuela school. I'm going to describe what these people are doing. Estamos Beno his drinking and looking at somnole his phone. Es ta comiendo, Ego esta Ablando, Eg sta Caminando, Esta Escucando Musica, Eta usando Wordenador, Esta LegendoEsta Buscando una nota. So here you have examples. You can pause the video here and read it out loud, and we'll continue with the last module, Modulo Ds. Let's continue. 46. Extra Lesson - Routines: lesson. You learn how to talk about hobbies on about your habits and routines. You will read text and you would practice. Right? Is writing about your hobbies your routines on describing People were getting very near to the end off the course. So keep it up. Vandals pasa tiempo present assembly plus a temple means hobbies. Okay, Andi, have a look at the verbs because they are marked on and they are changed If I'm talking about me if I'm talking about me and my family or me and my friends so pay attention to that as well So I want to start reading. We're going to see how to use the futura Proximo in Spanish and question words. I'm also going to talk about the next steps after you have finished this course. Let's start with the future in Spanish. Tua proximo. This would be similar to the got in English. So we say, Jo voi, we use a verb to go, eat, and remember it's irregular. So Jovo atravajar. I go to work. Jovoi atravajarT Vas avevi, you are going to live Eva cuchara voted nosotras, nosotros vamos ser. E Josie Vanivits Van Air Vos Vasa. What you can do here is pause this video. I think of a few phrases that you can use with these words, for example, Jo Voya tra vajar and oficina. I'm going to work in the office to Vasa vivir and Espana. You are going to live in Spain. You can pause the video and try to think, how can we continue these phrases? You can write them in the comments below this video. So remember, we use futura proximo zos for planes intensiones as in these examples, Voara supermercado, Vasa Vamos Ace E Herzsio. We use this future, the going to for plans and intentions, things that we want to do in the future, in the near future. So I'm going to go to the supermarket, Voya supermercado, Vasa Cerad. Are you going to eat later? Vamos Ace Herzio. We're going to do exercise. These are the uses when you want to talk about the future, the near future in Spanish. My piece of advice is that you try to memorize or remember how we form it. So it's Voi vas a preposition A, Vorava Voya b, Voz Gujar. You can also think of sentences that are true for you. So for example, you can say, Jo Voi Come Pizza. I'm going to eat piza tonight, Voyagerszio. I'm going to workout Voi EscrividEspaol. Voy cuchar Musica, Boa vlc Mfamilia, Voya Libro, Voya Al centro del Pueblo. I'm going to go to the center of town. So think of sentences that might be true for you. You can also write them in your copybook or you can leave them in the comments in this module and I can give you feedback if you want to. So this will be more useful for you to remember and memorize how we use the futura Proximo in Spanish. So don't worry. This is in the workbook, right? So let's continue. Que planes Este savado. All right, there is more practice in the workbook that I recommend you do, so don't miss out on that practice. Which is here. Amanda avocado Calendar. Amanda is a very busy lawyer, look at the calendar and write sentences as an example. You have this in the workbook, you have to write sentences about what she's going to do. For example, 930 here should be 930, there is a typo here, it's 930. She's have a work meeting. As nueve Lunes VapERgaloPa Summa. What you have to do is look at these phrases and try to write what is she going to do? All right. The idea of this exercise is that you practice the forms and that you get used to the A and the verb.
