I want to start by saying that you have a strong structure in place. It could be tightened slightly, but not much — and I suspect it’s already working better than you might think. You’ve done solid foundational work here.
Because you already have such a strong base, I also want to mention that I have a dedicated trailer-editing class here on Skillshare that I highly recommend. Trailer editing is actually my second profession, and that class is where I share the tools and techniques I use professionally. I think you’ll find several things there that can help refine what you already have. Hi Nadia, Congrats on this huge first step — your first film! The most important thing is to take something from A to B, and then the scary C: to actually publish it, just like you’ve done here. There’s a beautiful core in this film. You’ve chosen a strong theme, both in the title and in the story — Un joli petit coin holds so much meaning. Ideas like this are like onions: you start peeling, and there’s always something deeper at the center. I’d offer a gentle challenge — let the film rest for a week, then revisit the edit and create a second version. You can use the same shots, just play with the duration and rhythm to see what new feelings emerge. Again, thank you for taking this brave step and sharing your work!
