For this project, I chose to draw my beloved calligraphy pen and inks. I used to spend every day with these tools. If you look closely, you can even see cracks in the pen’s cork grip from countless hours of line work. For the past seven years, due to deadlines, I’ve worked almost exclusively with digital tools like Procreate (which I used for this drawing), and my style has inevitably adapted to the technology. It's hard not to change when your tools switch from wood and ink to plastic and glass.

So much of my time with digital tools has been spent finding ways to preserve the way of working that I discovered with my calligraphy pen. I want to move forward without losing the inspiration that started me down this path in the first place. The search for that balance is a big part of my (and quite possibly your) creative journey. The best thing about Skillshare is that it's a place where we can share parts of that journey with each other :)
