My Ordinary World
My story is going to be about when I was in high school. I went through a lot of stuff like bullying, addiction, self-harm, etc.
I can still remember exactly how that last summer felt. The weather was perfect. Where it was usually unbearably hot, this summer was sunny, but with a light cool breeze. You were never too cold or hot. You could feel that there was an impending change looming in the air. Not that it would be bad, but it might not be good. That last summer before high school starts. I could feel a deep nostalgia in my bones as if my soul and body knew that a change was coming. I was very nervous about starting high school. I wasn't popular. I was a chunky girl that wore glasses and I loved to read, which translates to nerd. My family didn't have a lot of money, so my clothes weren't considered "in" or stylish. I also wasn't good at doing my hair or makeup like other girls. People picked on me. I only had a couple of friends. I had no idea what to expect going to high school. I didn't know anyone older, that I could ask. I watched many movies like Never Been Kissed, She's All That, and 10 Things I Hate About You, and they just caused me anxiety. Especially with Never Been Kissed, when they play that joke on her on prom night. Since I'd already been dealing with bullies since grade school, I was afraid it would get worse. So I decided to relax and have a good summer. I spent most of it with my friend Jessica. I was pretty much living at her house. We had a great classic summer of movies, snacks, staying up all night talking, swimming, and just relaxing before starting high school.
