Monochrome Watercolor Portraits day 1-7

Day 1 Girl painted with Paynes Gray. It took me a little too long to get the sketch ready. I think the painting turned out ok.

Day 2 Man painted with Lamp black

I managed to do the scetch much quicker, but I was really scared to draw and paint this man. It felt so scary. But I think he turned out ok too!  =)

Day 3 This one was a lot harder then I thought it would be, but it was also a lot of fun! I felt more relaxed with this one and I experimented a lot more. I scraped some highlights with a knife. That was scary... It is painted with violet quartz from Rosa Gallery.

Day 4 This lady eyes was hard to paint. I painted her with a color that was new to me, Rosa Gallerys granulating color Green Quartz. It behaved a bit strange wich made it a bit harder for me to paint with.

Day 5 To draw this girl was a real challenge for me. I was actually considering giving up. After all the time I spend on the drawing I was a bit nervous about painting it. She is painted with Permanent violet from Daniel Smith. I started out way too light and had to go back and darken parts of her. Since I was expecting a disaster I must say I am quite happy about the result in the end!

Day 6

I think he turned out well, maybe my best one! It was a bit strange to paint him in green! Hookers Green from Daniel Smith.

I spend so much time trying to get a good sketch, and when I finally painted her she looked tatolly insane. Luckily I drew the sketch on a different paper and traced it on to my watercolour paper so I could start over. This time I made her look crosseyed but the rest is so much better. Not good, but better then the first one. So I am finally done! I have learned so much! Thank you so much Jane for a great course!
