I'm only a year into learning surface pattern design and I haven't gained much ground in that time. I'm guilty of being caught up in some of these myths, particularly the need for full collections. I've been playing with this Mandala Garden pattern recently and am pretty happy with how it turned out. It's fun and whimsical. But I've been caught up in extending these two patterns into 8+ before releasing them to the world. After this short class of yours, I think I will try to add one more corresponding pattern and then let them fly!
