I'm still a bloody beginner, just working on my first collection. One question I encountered: I designed a motif I love, made a pattern out of it, still love it, but wouldnt love it as wallpaper, bedsheets and so on, I'm just a bit lost if I'm just not the target group for my own design or how to find the right application for it. Or shouldnt we start with the final products mockups with some sketches and then go back to pattern creation? how much is thinking of product design the job of a surface designer?

Maybe that's  a topic for another class... :)

By the way, I chose 3 of the pantone Trend colors for this design. Actually I like being influenced by trends, because sometimes I feel I'm not the best with colors (more a drawing black and white person) and also I only pick them if they fit my brand anyways. And I believe, if I combine them within my work, it's getting more than just following the trend anyways.
