Knowing my art

Hi, I’m Chrissy, and I’m from Bulgaria! I’m a graphic designer and a beginner illustrator, exploring new ways to bring my art to life.
About My Virtuosity:
1. My art leans into warm autumn tones, sticking to a cohesive color palette. I adore textures, so I often experiment with them to add depth and character to my work.
2. I want my illustrations to feel like stepping into a cozy, whimsical cottage in the woods, wrapped in soft nostalgia and warmth.
3. My approach is straightforward and literal, focusing on storytelling through detailed, picture-oriented illustrations that captivate the eye and evoke a sense of simplicity.
4. I aim to create art that resonates with children. My goal is to illustrate children’s books, crafting magical and relatable imagery for young minds.
5. I start by doing research, then sketch by hand using a pen or ink pen -this feels freeing and helps me experiment. Once the sketch feels right, I transfer it to Procreate on my iPad, refining and finishing the illustration digitally.
6. I definitely prefer working alone. I love having a movie, series, or videos in the background, or classical music if I need to focus deeply.
About My Vision
1. Illustrating brings me pure joy and allows me to express myself in ways that words often cannot. It’s my favorite creative outlet.
2. Watching my initial sketches evolve and come to life as full illustrations is the most rewarding and exciting part of the process for me.
3. I don’t think there is anything I don't enjoy at least at the moment.
4. My dream clients are publishers and authors of children’s books. I would love to bring their magical stories to life through my illustrations.
5. I dream of working on children’s books, filling their pages with warm, whimsical illustrations that capture imaginations and tell unforgettable stories.
6. I want my art to bring a happy, cozy, and warm feeling - something that makes people smile and feel comforted, even briefly.
7. In 1 year, I hope to be a freelance illustrator, working independently on my dream projects, especially in children’s book illustration.
8. Children's books, gallery art (I paint with oils in my free time), fantasy
9. Comics/graphic novels, anime, animation
10. The cover of a magazine, a board book for toddlers, a tote bag, a t-shirt graphic, a line of greeting cards, custom stationery
About My Value - it is still a work in progress.
