Grant Readiness Checklist

No specific organization to base on, but the photo gives an idea.
I am currently an aspiring grant writer with an interest in grant writing. Also, I am seeking new avenues for portfolio growth.
Leadership
1) In the organization, how many departmental heads are participating in its foundation?
2) Among these leaders, who is deemed the most reliable in terms of project completeness?
Obtain/request their names, email address, and other forms of contact if possible.
Familiarize self with individuals involved.
Staff
1) How many staff, volunteers, and/or personnel are present in the organization? (Head count of contributing hands)
2) What are their contacts?
3) How will the grant benefit the organization?
4) What is the longevity of the grant if successful?
Get a working knowledge of who can be resourceful in the grant application.
Purpose
1) What is the organization’s mission and/or goals with this grant?
2) Does your project match the grant you’re applying for?
3) Is there a goal in place?
Understand their vision as clearly as possible.
Structure
1) Can you tell me what kind of organization you are to help better understand your goals for this grant?
2) If there is any, do you have tax status or paperwork on file as documentation of your recent presence?
Build an infrastructure that has a solid foundation between the organization and me.
Budgeting
1) What is the organizational budget for your project?
2) What is the total income, expenses from last year, and any anticipated planned expenses soon?
3) May I have access to this data?
Establish a clear budget that helps keep finances in check.
Income
1) Are there any other sources of income that are separate from grants in your organization?
2) Do you receive any donations outside of your organization?
3) Do you charge for your services?
Service
1) Are you providing any services?
2) Can these services be backed up by credibility?
Decision (Yes): Follow-through with preparations, appreciation, and publicity.
Decision (No): Seek constructive criticism and improvement. Use notes for the next round of applications.
My long-term goal is to provide organizations with a chance to make a difference somewhere or in some way possible that benefits a community, contributes to a valid cause, and makes an overall impact.
