Class Project: Is Floral Design the Career for Me?
I’m passionate about creativity, design, and creating things that feel meaningful to people. I really enjoy working with colors, textures, and aesthetics, especially when it contributes to something memorable like an event or celebration. I also enjoy learning new skills and exploring creative outlets.
What tasks come to you naturally?Creative tasks come pretty naturally to me, especially anything that involves organizing ideas, visuals, or designs. I’m also good at planning and coordinating projects and working with others to bring ideas together.
What tasks do you find challenging?I sometimes find repetitive administrative work or tasks that lack creativity challenging. Right now, I spend a lot of time sitting at a desk staring at a screen, and that can feel draining. I’ve realized that I enjoy work where I’m more hands-on and moving around. I also find it challenging when things have to be done under extreme time pressure without much planning.

Are there any skills that you have that you didn’t realize would be helpful in the floral industry?Yes. Skills like organization, planning, and working with clients would all be helpful in the floral industry.
