1. Course Introduction: Hello, I am Suseela, California, 3D artist, graphic designer from New Delhi, India. In this course I teach you 3DS maxIter forked road Brown designing like project folder accretion unit, Center for Architecture Designing AutoCad plan import, proper escaping. This course designed for beginner is to learn who want to learn something more in fruit plan modelling techniques. First, I teach you project folder unit setup and AutoCad pan input process in tedious math. Then we start Walt region. After computing world Friesian process, we add door window is tears and running. And that's all from me. I hope this online course will benefit three for you. 2. Introduction of 3ds Max: In this class, we take a introduction tour of 3ds Max, and I'm using 21st version of 3ds Max you can see here and I start from the first row, it's called Menu bar, same as any other software. By clicking on these Menu, you can access different different tools. If you want to create something, click on the create button and there is a standard and extended primitive available here. If you want to create a new document, click on the File > New and there is two options for creating a new document and choose New All on and there is some other option for Reset. Open, Close and Save, Save as If you want to exit from the 3ds Max Choose Exit option. Now I switch to second row. It's called Main Toolbar and frequently used tool available here like Redo and Undo. These are linking options. These are Selection and these are Transformation tool for Move, Rotate and Scale. These are snapping options in the right side. These option for texturing and rendering in the third row, it's called Ribbon. Modelling related tools available here. An important tool is animation. If you want to create crowd in the interior or exterior scene, you can create by using Populate tool. If you want to expand this Ribbon, click on this button so this will expand. Currently, object is not created on the viewport, so tool is not available here if you create a object here. And then convert into editable poly so you can see here. Option is available for modeling purposes or some other options also available here for animated character Click on the Populate and you can create crowd for interior or exterior scene by clicking on these icons these for sitting and these are standing. Now I collapse this by clicking on this button again and delete this box by pressing Delete key in the left side. It's called viewport layout. By clicking on this arrow, you can access different different templates for viewport. Currently, this template is assigned on the viewport. So 4 viewport is available here. And by clicking on these icons, you can change the layout for 3ds Max. Now I click here to collect this. Next panel is Scene Explorer. If you create any object in the viewport, this will listed here if I create a box. So this will listed in this Scene Explorer and I create any other object. So second object also listed if I create some shapes. So ships also listed here and I create a light. And show you some other option in the scene explorer, these are filters and these are different different categories. If you click and you can check. It's for Geometry and Geometry is not available here. If I click on the shape, so shape is also off from this area and if I click on the light, so it's also gone. So it's very useful if you want to organize this area by using these filters. Now, I select all the object and delete. In the bottom It's called Time Slider and it's for any Animation purpose you can navigate by using this slider. In the bottom right side, these tools for play animation on the time slider. And this button for creating Keys on the Times slider. This tool for creating camera and modify the camera angle. In the right side This panel called Command Panel and it's a very important panel in 3ds Max. By clicking on this button, you can change the tool in this area by default Create is assigned here and click on the geometry if you want to create geometry in this area. And these are other options for create Shapes, Light, Camera and these are other helping tools. Now I choose a Box and create in this viewport. So by using these viewport, you can see this object from Left, Side and Top. Click-and-drag and create a base, then provide height. So a box is created here, same as you can create other objects like Teapot. So click and drag in the top viewport. So teapot is created here. OK, so Teapot is created, if you want to see this object from the side, you can use this side viewport It's Front and if you want to see from the top people you can use Top viewport. and this viewport show the object from the left side. And by using perspective, you can see in a 360 view. It's a brief introduction of 3ds Max interface. 3. Navigation of 3ds Max: In this class, we learn how to navigate in 3ds Max. Currently this viewport is active viewport, because it's highlighted with the golden yellow color edge. If you click on any other viewoprt. Now it's turned into active viewport and Golden Color Edge is appear around this viewport Same as if you click on the any other viewport , they turn into active viewport . First, I create a object in the center of this grid, so I choose Teapot, but Teapot object is created by using Top viewport So first I make this viewport active by click on this and then choose Teapot object. when you click on this This highlighted with the blue color. Its mean tool is active now now click and drag on the Grid So by using click and drag method, the object is created. Then right click to exit from this Teapot tool. Teapot object is created now, and you can see this object from the Top viewport, Side Teapot and Perspective viewport, currently this object is selected and if you want to dislike this, click outside. So this object is deselect now. If you want to select this again, click on this. Now this object is selected and if you want to select by using scene explorer, click on this. So this object is selected now If you want to maximize this active report, press Alt+W, by pressing Alt+W, you can maximize or minimize this active viewport. So I maximized this again, and by pressing a scroll wheel, you can zoom in or zoom out. No, I minimize this active report by pressing Alt+W, or you can also use this minimize maximize toggle key by clicking on this, you can minimize or maximize or you can also use keyboard shortcut Alt+W click outside to Deselect this object. And if you click again, so object is selected and a stick line is appear around this. So it's Selection tool and tool is available here. By using this tool you can select any object. If you want to move this object in X or Y direction, you can use Transform tool and first transform tool is Select and Move tool. by pressing W, you can activate this by pressing metal motoki. You can make this viewport active, If you press left click object will deselect. So you have to select again. And if you press middle mouse key, object will not deselect. So I click MMK and this report is now active viewport and by using these handles you can select and move in a specific direction. Currently I'm moving in X direction. If you want to move in Y direction, hover your mouse on this handle and then click and drag for freeform movement over your mouse in the center, a square is appear in yellow color, then click and drag so you can move in freeform If you want to move this object in Z direction, first make this viewport active and then select this and then move. Next transform tool is Rotate tool. so I click on this and keyboard shortcut is E. If you want to rotate from the top viewport. first make this active by pressing middle mouse key and click and drag on the grey color line for 2d axis rotation. Same as if you rotate in the side viewport, so click and drag. So this object will rotate. If you want to reset this rotation, rotation parameter also available in the bottom. So by right click on the up and down arrow key. You can reset this. I reset in the Z direction, so this will reset, same as in the X direction. So it's reset now. If you want to rotate a object by using perspective viewport First, I make this active by pressing MMK and then maximize. And you can see colorful line is available here. And by click and drag on this line, you can rotate in particular axis. So it's very easy, and if you want to reset this just right click on the up and down, OK, so rotation will reset. Next tool is Scale Tool, by clicking on this, you can activate this or keyboard shortcut is R and click on the center, then click and drag for a scale up or scale down. And by using this X value, you can scale up or scale down. Just click and hold on the up and down arrow key and then move. You can also type a specific value in this text box I type 100, so now it's reset. Click outside now I minimize this active viewport. Now I select this object again, and Scale tool is active now. If you want to exit from the Scale tool, you can switch to a Selection tool by pressing Q and by pressing W, you can switch to select and move tool E for Rotation, R for Scale. so keyboard shortcut is very simple, QWER. In these 2d axis viewport you can see this object in wireframe and in the perspective. You can see this object with the Mesh. If you want to change the shading of this object in any other 2d axis viewport, you can also change. First, I maximize this and by pressing F3 key, you can change shading. Currently wireframe shading is assigned on this viewport if you press F3 So it's turn into default shading. In case F3 key is assigned with volume or brightness. Press fn key first and then press F3 for change shading. Now I swatch to prospective viewport and maximize this. By pressing F3 key, you can change shading in this viewport and you can see this construction line in case if you want to see this construction line with the mesh so you can use F4 key. By pressing F4 key You can see construction line with the mesh. No, I minimize this perspective viewport by pressing Alt+W key, and it's in navigation of 3ds Max. 4. Set Project Folder And Floor Plan: Now we learn how to create a project folder by default project folder path in my document. And you can see here, if I click on this button, you can see my document 3ds Max 21. And it's a location or by default, project folder to show you the structure or project folder. When you say you have a link to this matter, to me as max, or comically short this folder location. And there is some other folder for import and export purpose, sometime to this max or command tools. And if this archipelago file, and you can see inside this folder, Project folder of autumnal file inside a folder to show you how you can create a custom project folder. So first a minimize this, then I go to File menu and click on the project and there is option default. So I click on this and create a project folder on the desktop floor plan. And then click on Select Folder. It project folder is created on the desktop location. I show you clear this project folder on the desktop location. And these folder automatically created in the project folder. And if I click on this box, you can see this part is changed now. And it sure. Desktop location. No way please floor plan into the mix. So I click on the top, then go to File menu, and then click on the Import. It is med surge floor plan file inside import folder in the project folder, first a copy paste in this location. So I click on the desktop and copy this fine. And then paste here. Now I click on this and then click on the Open button. In this layout, we have to make some changes. And first change is set up. So I click on this checkbox here and we click on the inches because display in just you can see here. And we also make changes in the 3Ps Maxine receptor. We're using fractional inches into the hazmat. So we have to follow seems unit sector. And then click on the Okay button. Import in dark, dark blue bar. First I select all the lines of this floor plan and make a group. Then please this floor plan in the center of this group. So it says to select and move and right-click on the x axis. Now this floor plan in the center of the screen. 5. Unit Setup And Grid Spacing: Before you start creating floor plan into 3Ds Max, first we have to change units setup because 3ds Max by default set on generic unit. If I create a box in the center of the screen, you can see in the Command Panel, There is no unit takes in the end of these values. No, I change Units Setup in 3ds Max, so I go to Customize Units Setup. And by default, genic unit is selected here. In this layer two type of units that are available. First for System Units Setup. If I click on this, you can see one unit is equal to 1 inch. So system by default calculate these values as inches. And second is display unit is scale. If you want to work with metric, click on this radio button and choose meter, MM or centimeter from here according to your requirement. If you want to work with for it and just click on this second radio button, US standard and choose from this dropdown list. If you want to work with fractional inches or friction fit tools, these options, and if you want to work with decimal inches or decimal fit, you can choose these options. But I prefer to work with fluid fractional inches, so I choose this and in the second dropdown list, it's for accuracy purpose. If you undo work with higher accuracy, choose One-Way 32. And if you want to work with less accuracy, use one by eight. But I prefer to work with one-way 16. So I click on this in the default unit, choose inches. If you type 10 in the length parameter and then hit Enter 3ds Max, apply these value as in just after, make all these changes, click on the Okay button. Now you can see unit tests available in the end of these values. No, I delete this box by pressing Delete key. Introduced max. You can also change. Crit is busy. I create a box in the center of this grid with the snapping option. So first I click on snapping and then right-click, make sure grid points and mapping is selected. Now if I close this and create a box by snapping, this box is created with the ten inches value in the length, width, and height. It's mean grid spacing is set on ten inches. If you want to increase or decrease grid spacing, right-click on the snapping option and then click on the Home grid. In the grid parameter, grid, spacing is set on 10 inches. You can change from here. And two more parameters available for grid spacing. First four major line, every knit grid line, and by default value is 10. It's mean if you zoom in or zoom out, you can see in this big rectangle, ten is, one rectangle is pleased. If you want to increase the number of these boxes, you can change from here. And third parameter for prospective view grid extend its mean. From the center black color line, there is seven boxes. If you want to increase the grid size, choose higher value. In dokey. So group stage is increased. Now I set as the default value. After make all these changes, I close this. 6. Column Creation: Now we create columns. So first a maximize this dog people columns are highlighted with a yellow color. Total number of columns are dwell and it's divided into three rows. Before you start creating column, we have to select this floor plan and freeze. So I selected the window selection, then right-click and choose Free Selection. Now this plan is freeze and we are not able to select this. We create these columns with the help of rectangle tool and snipping tool. So first I enable snapping a click and hold and tools to 15 the Snipping, then right-click again on this icon and choose vertex snapping. No, I choose Rectangle Tool, so I click on the sheep icon and choose Rectangle Tool. Floor plan is free, so snapping option northward with the Fujian object. Now we have to make some changes. Industry shipping option. So I right-click on the Snap icon again and then click on the Options. There is a checkbox SNP2 frozen object. So I click on this and active this. Now we can snare frozen object and you can easily create these rectangle. Columns are created now. Now I unfreeze this floor plan. So right-click and tools and freeze. All know I am not able to see the rectangle that I recently created four columns. So I select this floor plan, then right-click, choose Hide Selection option. So flawed plan is hired know, and you can see these rectangle. Know I select these rectangle with the window selection, then right-click and convert to editable YZ plane. Click outside to deselect and select a rectangle. Then right-click choose Attach option. This option also available in the Command Panel. By click on this rectangle, you can test them one by one. Now, only this phase is selected. We apply extra tool to extract this wall and extrude tool available here. And it's also available in the right-click. So we access this tool from the right-click and then click on the Settings button. Wald width is five inches. So I place five inches, extrude parameter, and then click on the Apply button. Same as this time, I select this face. So I select all the faces again. And by pressing Alt key, select the remaining phases. So only this phase is selected now and we apply Extrude tool again on this surface. So right-click and choose x2, Setting button or apply. This wall is extra. Now after applying extra tool, now I extend manual method. So first I disable snapping and then switch to select n Move tool. First I maximize this star pupil and then click and drag x-axis. A Jew mouth a little bit. And manually extend the turn. Now I apply X2 tool again. So right-click and choose x2. Apply. You can repeat last to use tool in 3ds Max by pressing colon key. So I right-click and choose x2. Or you can also use by colon key. Now I change selection. So I select these polygons and by pressing Alt key ID, select them, breast colon key to repeat last tool again. I de-select this polygon by click outside and select all the polygons again. And by pressing Alt key and window selection IDs are at these selected polygon and apply Extrude tool. You can increase the value by changing parameters. I think it's a ventilator.
