About This Class

In this course, I will be teaching you about the many plugins created by Astute Graphics that essentially in the gaps in Adobe Illustrator. I have looked for many options for fixing this problem created by adobe and Astute Graphics has created the perfect solution.

There are so many features that Adobe Illustrator lacks and many users have problems with it crashing often. The plugins that Astute Graphics has created solve almost any problem you may be having in illustrator. There are tools for autosaving and backing up your document as you're working on them, better snapping tools, live mirroring, auto-cleanup plugins to erase invisible anchor points floating around the screen, and so much more.

These plugins have changed the way I work in Adobe Illustrator and In this course, you will learn the benefit they can have for your workflow. They all come with free trials so you can easily follow along in the course and learn what they can do.

1. Astute Graphics, The solution for fixing illustrator: I dont be Illustrator has become somewhat of the primary go to software for graphic design . But the problem with it is this many problems bugs, crashes and their many of requests features it never seem to get added. That's why, in this course, I'll be teaching you about the astute graphics plug ins. Fill in all these missing gaps in the software. There's auto saving to prevent you from losing work, mirroring tools, the best snapping on the planet and so much more. In this course, I will do a five minute overview of each plug in offered by his Stoop graphics, which solve so many of the illustrated problems. You can also easily get a free trial of the plug ins to follow along with the courses and learn how the plug ins work to help you with your let's get started. 2. 01 Stylism: all right, so the first thing we're gonna do to get these plug ins is open a browser and go to a stew graphics dot com. And once you're out this website, you can go overseas shop, and then you can see this button right here. It's trial, all plug ins for free, and you can fill out all your information here and I'll direct you Teoh, where you can download a free trial for all of these different plug ins. And you can go through this different areas shopping. And if you want to buy any that you like, then you can easily go here and purchase whatever plug ins that you like from a stew Graphics. But before we do anything else, we're going to get started on this first plug in S O. This is a style ism plug in, and I'm going to quickly go over some of the really cool things that you can do with it. What I find most useful about this plug in is that you can quickly add some live effects that adobe illustrator already has built into it. But this makes it much faster. Eso you may often be finding yourself creating some text like a headline, and then you want to expand that, and then you may want to add a drop shadow to it. I mean, has said that Text white and then all you have to do is click on this drop shadow effect and was really nice is this allows you to move your drop shadow effects around in a lot of different areas, and it's a lot more intuitive than the panel that Adobe Illustrator has set up automatically when you have your drop. Shadow panel has everything set two points, and you kind of have to really know where where do you want your shadow to be and said, Exactly. But this allows you to really adjust things on the fly a lot faster, and I can have the blur. We're to that and change the opacity a lot easier. And and that's very quick to create some cool drop shadow effects. One of the other things that I really love about using this panel is the blur tool, which I find myself using quite often and creating illustrated outward for this example. I'm going. Teoh said this to black default and create justice the shadow underneath that. But to make this look like a lot more realistic shadow under the headline, I will click The Blur Tool, and I'm just going to blur this line or this object out a little bit and create that shadow underneath this text. And what I really like is I can easily turn off effects immediately from that panel. And then I'm just going to go a change the color of this text and very quickly you can see that I've added some cool text shadowing right here using that blur tool. This panel can also be really nice for transforming things on the fly so that the rendering on your computer isn't quite as taxing on your CPU. So I scaled that down a little bit, and I'll drag us up now if I want a bunch of copies of this that are that are live affect copies. I can click on that transform tool and drag that down, and then I can add a few more copies of that and easily add these live effects, and I can scale these down and move them around wherever I want, or I can add some funnel effects by tilting them and so you can see I can drag it around. And then what I can also do is click on this effect and then shift. Click on the larger type right here. And if I had copies of that and dragged that around, it's going to add effects to this entire object, which can be really fun for creating some unique artwork. And so that's a quick run. Down of the style is, um, panel. You can add inner and outer gloves, feathering objects, transform objects. Ah, live in the in the art board area. Ah, and adjust your resolution. And so there's a lot of really cool things that you can do with this panel, and you can check out this video right here, and it's gonna show you a little bit more in depth of some of the ways you can use this plug in in our work 3. 02 VectorScribe: in this next video, I'm going to be showing you the pass, cried Tool. So the past character was a really useful tool. I use a lot for editing artwork on vector points very quickly. And so one of the things I really love built into the stool is a smart removed brush tool. So sometimes, uh, you'll find yourself working with some complex our work. And so, in this case, I'm just going to create a few different, uh, shapes right here and all go to this one. And I'm just going to use my path, my new tool, and I'll erase that top one from this 2nd 1 And I'll do that again for this last one. And now if I hit a you can see it's created a few points in areas that may be unnecessary. But the problem is, if I go under object and path and simplify, this is kind of how Adobe Illustrator tries to solve this problem, and it doesn't really do a great job of it. But if I had cancel on that, I can use this smart erase tool, and I could just go through any race that and erase that point over there and the one that was right up here and and this object is almost exactly the same as it was when I started. But the smart you're a school just quickly went through any race. A few of those points now where this can also be this plug and can also be useful is for corner of, uh, for corner anchor points where I don't have any and he handles on it. But if I want to drag this up or customize that it would be a pretty difficult. But if I use the past grab tool, it creates these ghost handles, which don't exist in in the real world. But once I click on that, then it allows me to move that around once I'm at that point 11 thing that's also released well, for this is dragging points around that maybe at an angle and constraining them to the angle so you can see there's this angle. I sit right here, and if I click on that and hold L, then it's not letting me move that anywhere else, and I'm not holding shift or anything right now. It's constraining into that exact angle And so I'm going to move this over here and same with this object and show you the extend path tool. This can be really useful for extending paths for especially curved lines. So I'm going to hit in. And then I'm just gonna draw simple line just like that and then make sure that I have a stroke set to it. And let's say I want to just extend this out, but have it be a little bit smart about how it does it? So if I click on this extend path tool, I can click on one of these points and then hit the left or right arrow key, and it's automatically going to start moving this around. But that curve is set exactly aligned to where this is so so once I click on that, it is this nice, smooth line that is very intelligent about how it it curves that out stuff. I'm creating custom typography. This is really nice for guessing exactly where I want those lines, and it's usually pretty accurate. One thing I can also do is hit e, and that's going to cycle through these different kind of curves that I can use and then same same with before. I can always have my left and right arrow keys and change. Those radius is for the different curve lions. And so on this one, I'm gonna have that curve just a little bit in right there. And if I hold down control or command, then it takes off the snapping on that and I can add it wherever I want and so escape out of that. And you can see how very quickly I was able to create some nice, curved lines that match up exactly with that other line. And I can go and click on this ah, smarty race tool and then erased any of those points that I don't want. So this is a tool that I really love using quite quite a lot in most of my artwork. And 11 last thing that we're gonna take a look at is under the past. Scribe is we're gonna go over here and then check the past scribe panel, and I'm going to drag out over over right here. And this has some really cool options built into it. Where I can set I can select all the handles on this anchor on this path and I can drag them around and move them very, very quickly and easily. I can move them in in pretty unusual ways. Uh and I can also I can undo that really quick. And I can smart remove some of these anchor points that I don't like. Maybe they're just not working out for me. So I can select that anchor point and go over here to smart remove. And what it does is it keeps that line is close to what it was before is it can, but gets rid of that anchor point. So in some cases, ah, Adobe illustrator may have to have an anchor point there for a path to be exact. But if you remove that the stew graphics past great plug in is going to keep that as close to what it was before, as it possibly can. And in this case, it actually did a pretty good job. And I'm going to go over to this point and let's see how well it does on that. That is almost exactly the same. Still, and I just deleted that point, and same with fisting all that it can do a pretty good job of keeping that fairly accurate , which it did. And so I went through and I raced some of those points, and I kept the integrity of the original path on this pretty close. And so those are a couple of quick tips for the past grab tool with this do graphics. 4. 03 VectorFirstAid: All right. So one of the plug ins a stew graphics released that I've learned that I can't live without is this plug in down here called Vector First Aid? And so if I go into my window and pulled up Vector first aid, I'll pull of that panel and right here I za panel to what this does. It checks your document. It cleans things up automatically for U. S. 01 of things that I'll do often say I'm when I'm creating word mark. All have my type Tool TV, and then I'll just create some type. Let's call it Jim's Diner. And then I'm going to zoom into this texture here. And sometimes what I'll do is cut, cut different pieces of the Texan oil, change the text and all merge things together using my Pathfinder, so as an example of his shift control or command. Oh, and that's going to expand this type and I'll hit em and then I'll just start connecting some of these letter forms together. Um, and I'll just be moving, moving things around like this. I'm gonna move that path, have that path over a little bit little bit more, and uh, we'll delete the bottom of this with a white shape, and I'll just keep adding a couple of things. Let's say I want to use a white shape on and erase part of that D right here and all drag. Let's this is drag a couple other things around and maybe over here. Ah, copy this and all. Cut. I'll cut into this J a little bit. Maybe it maybe just make it a little bit different. But say for something like this. Now, once I have it, organize the way I want. If I hit control or command, why, it's gonna show me where all my shapes are. And if I want to expand all this, I'll select everything and I'll go to my Pathfinder and all merge all these shapes and and you'll see. Let's say I want to re color this. Well, I can see that Have these white shapes here cause emerged. Everything so use Why this my magic one. And I'll select that and it's gonna select all the white shapes and they'll hit, delete. And now, if I hit control or command, why again? Now it looks like it's all all how it should be. But there's some invisible shapes that cause problems. If I want to re color this, then I'll go into my swatches. And let's just say I had wanted to color it green. Now all these shapes air filled in on the inside of those counters when I use merge. And I have this problem a lot with different pieces of artwork when I emerged things together or using the Pathfinder, and, uh, it gets really annoying trying to find out where those shapes are. And if I had a large piece of type here, then I would have to go through a lot of these different counters and everything in the Levi's one by one. And if I hadn't colored that Rick Color that, then I can't even find those that. So if I like here, there is this edge right here. So I confined using the wreck selection till I can find that one pretty easily. But how was I going to know that the inside of this E was actually a shape in there? And so what? I can dio That's really nice, as I can click on this and go to Vector First Aid and I can hit, check the selection and it says there's two unpainted paths and four unneeded points. So if I just hit, fix all, then I can very easily just go in and add a new a new color to that. And there's none of these hidden shapes because that vector first a panel went in any race tomorrow. Another thing that's really nice is it deleted some of the unnecessary points that I had. So if I under that few times and then hit a, you can see all of these unneeded vector points. If I had check selection again and say Fix all it deleted those and so it's really nice using this panel to clean up your artwork in those ways. 5. 04 ColliderScribe: all right. In this video, we're gonna be looking at collider scribe, and this is a plug and I really love. And it's useful for when you're having issues with snapping an illustrator when maybe it's not snapping the way you want. I can go up here to my selection tool, and this is where the colliders describe options are held. Under is these snap snap to collision tool, the rotated collision tool and the rotate to the closing on. And so I'm gonna show you quickly how to use a couple of days. So let's say I have ah couple of circles. And if I want Teoh drag these and make them close together, I'm just gonna make sure they're all the same thickness on that. And if I want them to be touching each other, the snapping and Adobe illustrator's are medically, it's only going to constrain it to the vertical and horizontal axis on. So it's and even then it it may not do a perfect job. See, right here it's still have not kind of a hard time snapping that together right there. And if I hold it right there and hit command or control, why It's done an OK job right there. But But once I want to start getting it snapped to these sides right here, it's not even going to do that. And so all I can do is really get my best guess of where it should go. And so what I can do is use the snap to collusion tool, and if I drag these around, then it's automatically against snapped this everywhere. It's touching wherever I drag that that shape and even this and so I can snap it to both of these points. And so this is really fast and intuitive where I can just drag things around very quickly like that, and it works with any kind of shape with any object. So let's save Just got this shape right here, and I've got a circle on top of that, and I'm just going to emerge these together. And then if I use this tool and what I've done is, I've gone under edit into the keyboard shortcuts, and I have created my own shortcuts for this. If I hit Shift V, then it's gonna select this tool automatically for me, and I do. This would be faster because I use this tool so often on. And then I can drag this around and it's going to snap it to anywhere on this new object. Now, I love being up to do those things with the snap it Collusion tool. But these other options right here the rotate, this one already rotated Collision tool is also really useful for orienting objects on. I really love using that. And I'll show you right here. If I I'm just going to delete these objects and create a quick polygon right here. And I'll make sure this isn't Straighten It is. That is, er um ah, totally straight, horizontally or vertically, because this is going to illustrate my example Better on I'm just going to create another shape with the pentacle. All just create Ah, simple triangle. And let's say I wanted this triangle to be pointing straight out from this point right here . That might be a little bit tricky, and it might take me a minute to get it aligned. Exactly how you want. It may not be perfectly lined, so what I can do is use the rotated collision tool and select wherever on this path that I wanted to rotate at, uh or basically the oriented to this object. So if I click right here and if I hold it over here, then it's automatically gonna orient that perfectly straight to that path. Or what I can also dio is dragged this around and then click on that point again and anywhere on this entire path where I dragged this object is going to point that perfectly perpendicular to any point that I have. Or if I drag it to a corner, it's going to aim it straight out from that corner. And if I zoom out and I can also use my option or Ault key and hold it down on the keyboard and then I can make a copy of that and then I can make copies of this and dragged them all around my different shapes that I want those objects aligned directly to where those paths are. And so this is ah really quick way that I can align objects and orient them to other objects, and it can be really useful now at this last tool right here. This is the rotate to collision tool, and so what this does It's similar to the rotate at collusion tool. Except what happens is all. Grab a shape over here and I'm just going to rotate this a little bit and I'll click the rotate to collision tool and then all grab this midpoint right here and I'll drag it around . And what it does is it will rotate this object around that point, and it'll snap at anything that the object collides with a Z you can see right here any anywhere where an edge is colliding. That object just went to snap, and so that's it for covering the collider scrape plug in. 6. 05 Phantasm: in this video, we're gonna be looking at the phantasm plug in. Now this plug in, I really love using when I'm working with colors or changing colors quickly in our work, uh, or when I'm creating halftime patterns which I'll, uh, show you how to use this plug in real quickly. So you'll see right here. This is some artwork that creative in one of my previous courses, and I'm going to just click on all of these different trees. And let's say I want Teoh add a little bit of a modification to the colors and had some brightness and photo shop effects to these. And that's where the phantasm plug in is really nice. So I can go into my appearance panel and then click on this whole, um, effects button, and I can see the phantasm options right here on what you can alternatively do is go to effect, and then Phantasm shows up right here at the bottom, and I'm going to change the human saturation of these because I want the hue to be like a little bit more vibrant of a green and have a little bit more yellows in that and all increase the saturation a little bit. Decrease the brightness and I can just drag the queue around to kind of wherever I want. Let's let's maybe even make these kind of a yellow like it's fall. You can see right here It changed all these brown colors to And so this is similar. Still, as just like photo shop, where I can edit the human saturation so I can just reset this my hue zero and everything and I'm just going to click on the greens now it's just gonna select these green areas and will change the color of these. So Dragon Hugh back down again, and now you can see the Browns haven't changed at all. And I'll right up to that yellowish kind of color and keep going a little bit. Yeah, just just like that and I'll be decreases saturation, actually. And now you can see it very easily change these colors with this he saturation. But I didn't affect any other colors except what was in the channel that I was looking at. Now I can hit OK, and the nice thing about this is it's created this as a lot of effect, So if I go under my appearance panel, you can see all these subjects I have selected have this phantasm effect apply to it. So if I uncheck that, then it goes back to the original or I can see what it looks like with this new effect. And if I like how that looks then and I want to be able to adjust these colors in my swatches panel, then I can go to object and expand appearance. And now what it did. Is it removed to that effect? But if I use my direct selection tool hitting A and I select one of these objects, it is now updated that color to the new color that I created. I'm going Teoh under that, though, however, and now I've got the same object selected and I'm going to go into my effects panel right here, and I'm going to now add a brightness and contrast adjustment so I can increase this brightness and the contrast right here. And that's just going to make that look a lot sharper and stand out a lot more in the artwork. Now, in this case, I think that this is a little bit too much brightness to match the whole artwork in general . And so what I can do this really nice about this is I can just select all the artwork and apply a brightness and contrast level to the entire piece of artwork and so I can increase the brightness a little bit and then the contrast. And then I can just move this around and play that however I want. And if I want to kind of look at the difference, the before and after very quickly, I can just uncheck the fill a stroke and see whatever it's being applied to. And so this is a way I can toggle on and off. And that just adds a little bit more of this dynamic kind of look to this artwork. And the nice thing about this is it's all live and nondestructive. I can always go on unchecked these different effects, the key saturation Oregon select all these trees again, and it shows that hue saturation adjustment that I put on that also. Now the last thing that we're gonna look at real quickly is the half count option. So may click on this background. Let's just say I want to create 1/2 tone on it. And so I'm going to go down to my effects and where we have phantasm again. And then I'm going to click on this half tone effect now natively in Adobe Illustrator. It creates half tones as raster bit mapped images, and that just doesn't work very well and it can be kind of hard to expand. And what's really nice about defense hasn't played in is a creates all these half tones with live shapes. And so I can go over to this size and the DP I I'm gonna set that to 10 and it's gonna update that really quickly, and I can add an undercoat layer, and I'm gonna make this similar to what it was that before that the dark purple and I'm going to And then I can change the half tone color and make it that kind of a blue again that we had before. And this is looking pretty good. Maybe I'm just gonna make it a little bit brighter. It's like that. There's all these other adjustment options that you can view this course right here, and I'll go a lot more in depth into this plug in, but this is a phantasm plug in. It's really nice for creating quit color adjustments and Photoshopped live effects within Adobe Illustrator. 7. 06 MirrorMe: So that's video. I'm gonna be showing you the mirror me plug in. I really love this plug in for being able to create a lot of different creative, mirrored types of artwork. That's really nice for flipping objects, forwards and backwards and I copying them using this miracle and so you can see if I click on it. This is the kind of widget that it pulls up in the screen, and so I can either click right here and say, Apply toe layer persistent. And what it will do is it'll show in my layers panel. It's applied to this layer right here. And so any change I create in this up in this in this area where these errors air pointing inward, it's gonna update to each one of these different areas. And so if I just create this triangle right here, it's going to immediately that shift X update that in all these different areas, and so I can move this around, I can scale it differently and very quickly do that. But if I hit shift bait for my brush tool and all makes true that the brushes for black and I can drag it around and then very quickly add some fun premiered shapes around my artwork right here. And so I can just keep going. And and you can just keep doing this limitless, using this for a lot of different creative, experimental types of artwork. If I can do that, let's see. I'm gonna make this little smaller right here and let's add some like leaves. And once I have something that I think is kind of creative, how I want it, I can pull up my mirror May panel where you could go under window, then mere me and pulled that up. And if you have these access is set to layer the way you get rid of them as you pull it. This panel and all expand its this a few times, and I can it remove axis, and then it's going to expand this artwork essentially, and then I can click on it and drag it around very easily, and I can rotate it. And just like that now, what I can also dio is use the mirror me tool again. And if I hit the left or right bracket is going to increase the number of accesses or decrease those on. So if I want to create, let's say this is going to be like some sort of a snowflake. I can just click right there and had applied to selection and then hit V. And it's very quickly changed this artwork to something really interesting. One other way I use this plug in a lot is for marrying objects that I need to be merged instead of, uh, reflected as, ah say, I'm going to create a shield. I can just create one side of that shield very quickly right here and let's say just something like that, then stuff having to you hit oh or my reflect tool and then reflect that over or even click on that. And then he use option and reflect that it's gonna be a lot harder to emerge this later. And so what I can do is use the mirror tool and I can hit money left bracket. Make sure that's only set to access is and then I'm going to select this bottom access and then I'll drag it around, make sure these arrows are facing the direction of the artwork that I want mirrored, and then I'll set it right there and had applied to selection. And then it very easily emerged that. And so this is now just one object right here that I can hit us and scale. This will differently. And this has all been merged into these anchor points. So this is just one anchor point right there. And I could just drag that around and very easily create objects that are perfectly symmetrical without having to worry too much about merging them later because automatically does this. This could be really useful for creating faces that are symmetrical. Same is with us. If I want to create a whole hit shift to be and then make sure this is light. And if I want to create some eyes right here and let's say this is gonna be a face and create this nose and I want to make this symmetrical, then all just same is what I did before. Grabbed this. Make sure I click right here and make sure those arrows on this axis is pointing towards my artwork. Or you can see the preview of the artwork and I'll hit shift to constrain that and then apply that to the selection. And it emerged that exactly how I wanted it 8. 07 Dynamic Sketch: now one of the other plug ins a stew. Graphics is created. They can be really useful. And especially if you have a tablet. Is this one right here? Dynamic sketch and you can pull it up by going to window and then under dynamic sketch and you can pull it the panel right there. And then if you want to activate the tool, all you have to do is click on right here, this dynamic sketch toe, or you can just click right in the panel and immediately you have your dynamic sketch pen right here. They can drag lines out in any way you want. Now this Megan. Um, now, first, this may seem pretty similar just to using the pencil or brush tool, but if I undo these really quick, I can go under. I can go into this panel, and if you're not using a a tablet as I am right now, you can just use sketching speed and then I'll just use my pen right now. And if I drag this around and then use a different speed, then it's going to increase with of the stroke based on how fast I was moving my mouse around on. So as you can see right here, I'm gonna do that again and then moving fast right here and then and then right there immediately. This is thinner. Where is moving now? Slower and thicker. Where is moving faster and then all just a B and then select this path right here. And I can just increase the width of that stroke toe anything that I want And it's going, Teoh, keep everything proportionately updated. Now, what I really love using this tool for is with creative brush effects. And so I'm going to open up brush library, and I can use some of these artistic Russia's adobe illustrator has set up already. And I'm going to drag these over here and what you need, toe. Make sure that you're doing, um to use dynamic sketch with ease is click on this and set a few things. Make sure that this recall last used between sessions. You can have that check and you want your brush color the stroke set to whatever color you going to be using. Um, for this I'm gonna set that to like a dark blue. And then if I hit, enter then it's gonna pull up the dynamic sketch preferences. And you can also do this by going under here and going to dynamic sketch preferences. It's gonna pull this up, and I want to make sure that the new paths do not have the basic parents, and I don't want it has set fills. And you have to make sure that all these settings air set right s so that when you're sketching, it's going to sketch your strokes the way you want them just from the get go. So you don't have any problems, so I'm gonna be okay with that and go to my appearance. Make sure that new artwork does not have basic parents. Also with that, and then I can click on my stroke. And then I have to go into some of the options for H brush. And so I'm going to double click on this brush and then go to here and go to my brush options and see it says the width is fixed right here. I want that with to be pressure sensitive, and so I'm going. Teoh, make sure that it's gonna set it from, say, 45% with to allow up to there. 200% male hit. Okay. And make sure that this is set two stylised pressure and then I can start sketching. But first, actually, uh, you want Make sure this recall last between sessions, actually make sure that's unchecked. Um, and then all set the weight from 1.28 point. Just make sure decent amount of play, and then this is a string. This is going to show you the smoothness of that path. It's going to smooth out your path. So I'm gonna say that string to just 12 pixels and how I'm gonna come over here and I can start sketching. I'm gonna create this and you can see that it's create that little bit of a string right there. And if I'm of this down, then you can see it created this path, and the width is based off of the pressure that I was giving it. So if I'm going to start with a really small pressure and then bring it a little thicker right here and then bring it back down, it's gonna update on this path, and they'll set that to any brush style that you have set as long as you make sure that in the settings of that brush you have under these brush options that it's gonna scale the width, Um, based on the pressure. So I'm gonna undo that. Make sure you have these set. And so now you can go and have a lot of fun. Uh, let's see me and drag this stand to five points and then make sure I delete these and then you can have a lot of fun just adding different strokes around however you want, uh, and it's gonna always update those hoops. You make sure you have this selected and it's always gonna update those, depending on how you're brushing things around. And so I really love the dynamic sketch plug in for creating a really quick concept. Are with a using these brushes. And so, yeah, that is the dynamic sketch plug in 9. 08 WidthScribe: So in this video, I'm gonna be showing you some of the really amazing things you can do with the whip described Tool. So we'll go under window and then come down to wit scribe down here. See? Make sure I say, Wit, scribe. And there's a few different panels that we have with the wit described Tool. I'm going to put my with radiant. I'll get rid of some of these other panels right here with radiant. I have my wit selection panel and the width stamp panel. And the way this could be really useful is ah, by creating a few lines, starting off really quick right here. And I'm just going Teoh, duplicate this a few different times and I'm going to use my sq tool right here. They're my share tool, and I'm just going to set these at an angle. Something like that. Let's say I want these toe all start off fairly thick and then taper off right here. I can use my with radiant right here and set. I wanted to start a zero point thickness and go up to five points, and what I can do is set this from toe linear and then I can just drag and it's going to change the thickness of these lines just like this really quickly. And it's and it's going to set them at two. A perfect Grady in between these by using this graph and so I can set it to curve the thickness of that radiant and I'll increase Ah, with on the thickened to 11 points. And then I can just drag that around right here and very quickly see the difference in the change that made with all these lines. And you can see how it goes from thick right here. And then it's slowly capers too thin like that, and that's because of this craft. If I said it the other way and do this again, then it's going to taper the other way. And so I really love being lose this when creating things like type where I need the letter forms to have this with radiant set very accurately, and the nice thing about this is a grating. In this with is very smooth, and it tapers very evenly. The problem west, the width tool automatically set and it will be illustrator is it doesn't set it very smoothly. You can see this. It kind of tapers were. And you don't really have a lot of control over how the West is going to take her. The thing that's also really nice about this is I can use the wit selector tool with this plug in, and I can find exactly where these wits air set. I can either delete them or I can change the with immediately on this panel right here. And I can specify the with the exact with right here, right here. I can just increase that based on this personage. And I can also say some things other tools to select smooth all these wits throughout the entire object. And so if I drag a lot of these down right here and the awakening, this is hitting shift and I'm clicking on that and it's gonna smoothies, or I can distribute those evenly by holding, halt or option and then clicking on those it's gonna drag goes smoothly throughout the entire line. 10. 09 AutoSavior Pro: now in this video, we're going to be looking at auto savior. Now. This plug in has really saved my butt a lot of times with saving artwork. Where Adobe Illustrator Sometimes it has bugs and it'll crash. And usually it's supposed to have an auto recover option where we'll recover your artwork, but it doesn't always do that. And so I'm just going to create a few, uh, different shapes right here on the chemist and just so that I have something, um, for illustrative save on. And then I'm going to go up to window and then I'll go to auto Savior Pro and then I'll pull up this offer savior Pro panel and what this is. Ah, it's basically a timer that shows you your auto savior settings for saving documents. And so this is really nice, because I can kind of set how I want the environment to react with saving documents automatically. So one side of the panel I can either go up to file and then auto save your pro settings, or I could just easily click on the that will button in the panel and see the settings, and this is gonna tell me how my document is going to save, which is really nice. I can set it to enable auto save. Or it'll remind you say you're working on a project that you don't want to automatically save every time. You just want to remind you to save it. I can say Just remind me and I'll remind me every 10 minutes, 90 minutes or I consider it to, ah, 180 minutes every time I want to remind me or I can have it Auto save. And then I can set the scene will say every five minutes is gonna auto save. And it is going to wait five seconds after I make a change so that if I'm right in the middle of editing a path or an object, then it's not gonna save and throw me off while I'm in the middle of working s o. I really love this being able to do that, but what's also really nice about this out of savior Pro plug in is, say, working on projects. But you're changing things around, so you don't want to keep saving it and and updating that you can actually set up a version control where it's gonna back up each version it saves, and you can save it in the same folder or set a custom location. And then you can keep the last five versions. And then while you're working, if you remember you had the file set up a certain way three previous versions ago, then you can go back to those other versions and open up separate documents. And the nice thing about illustrator is usually files. They're fairly small, and so you can just keep adding additional versions. And I think the maximum it will go up to is, um, you know, you can go over 100 different versions and so eso that's really nice that you can save so many different files on versions with that, uh, down in the bottom, you'll see this, but Mrs Edit settings for new documents will come in here. And then this is gonna be the settings that automatically applies whenever you open a document or whenever you create a document. And so yeah, the auto savior pro plug in. It can be really nice for making sure you don't have files getting lost while you're working. And in the panel It's always going to show you the amount of time you have left until it's going to save this file again. And you can automatically turn this off or turn it on again and turn on or off the backing up of the files for versions s Oh, yeah, this is all just a very pro panel.
