In the world of fashion, most garments only receive praise once they are showcased on runways or featured in magazines. Unfortunately, this standard often overlooks the most beautiful part of the production process: the fashion illustration.  

I started a website called PaperFashion four years ago to celebrate this artform through paintings of my own, and Im excited to finally be able to teach some techniques and tricks to you through Skillshare! 

Through video tutorials, curated resources, and hands on exercises, I will take you through the process of creating stunning fashion illustrations in a thoughtfully artistic way.  

In this class we will go over:

• finding resources for inspiration and reference images
• basic supplies needed for fashion illustration
• using pencil and paper to create the foundation sketch
• mixing watercolors (especially those tricky skin tones!)
• applying paint to your watercolor paper
• finishing touches and unique embellishments

You'll share your process and final sketches with your classmates and receive feedback from your peers. I will not directly be leaving feedback on your work- but please post your work on instagram with the tag #paperfashionclass and I'll check it occassionaly :). 

Whether you're a budding beginner or just looking to improve your skills, this class will provide you with easy to follow steps and tools to bring your art to life!
