Hi I'm Nick Cave, nope, not that one (the famous cult singer, formerly of The Bad Seeds) in case you're asking.

In the last few years I've loved playing around with quirky and interesting animation commissions I've been lucky enough to work on, which has meant being able to experiment and create with software like Adobe Animate, Photoshop, After Effects and now some great iPad apps, such as Assembly, Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Core Animator, Alight Motion, DoInk and Procreate.

I'm even being called, 'The Animator' now, but unfortunately I don't have any cool catchphrases like, 'I'll be back!' Guess I could adopt one like, 'I like to snack' (umm.. probably needs some work!)

I've tried my hand at game and mobile app development, created fun, engaging web content for a young people's reader and development website, animated content via code and was amazingly even one of the winners in an animated gif competition last year, using a copyright free museum archive picture (see pic below).

What I've found when working with colleagues on innovative projects is how much I enjoy imparting knowledge I've learnt along the way and subsequently seeing them produce fantastic creations. Therefore, I hope I can share some of this experience with you all.

The main thing I would encourage is not to be afraid of trying your hand at something and experimenting with ideas. Afterall, wasn't it painter Marcel Duchamp who said, "I came to feel an artist might use anything—a dot, a line, the most conventional or unconventional symbol—to say what he wanted to say."

I'm really looking to seeing what you create and I still enjoy being surprised at learning new things on here all the time. Enjoy!
