I paint in watercolor, oil, and ink. I come from a long line of artists in my family so I paint and draw very intuitively and consider myself to be primarily self-taught.  I learned how to paint in the watercolor medium while studying the technique at the Glassell School of Art in Houston.  My path to art has not been a straight one as I graduated from college in Nursing from the University of Texas in Austin and I have practiced in many different medical areas for many years.  Throughout these past years, I have longed to be an artist and a teacher and my current location has afforded me to do both and step aside from the nursing field for a time.  Due to my husband's job, we move around the country a lot which has greatly influenced my subject matters and my ability to show my art locally.  From my travels, I have found that it is the small things and special moments that I wish to capture and share through my paintings. Initially, we might miss these special thoughts or moments that I present in my work however by incorporating the subject, the light and the paper I challenge the viewer to make what I see relevant.  

I have been teaching watercolor at an art gallery near my home for several years and decided to teach online to reach my students that have moved away or do not live locally. I love to share my knowledge and passion for watercolor with anyone I meet.
