Hello, I'm Egle Kolev and I am a botanical watercolour artist and illustrator living in England.

Art was always part of my life, but when I found watercolours and soon after botanical watercolours, that is the time when I truly felt like home. Transparency, fluidity, luminosity and endless possibilities of watercolours are just a few of the reasons what draws me to this medium.

Painting for me is everything I had hoped it would be. Its an act that takes me "Home" , works as meditation, calms my soul and leaves you with a beautiful peace of art at the end.

I have a degree in public administration, but I am an artist at my core so I have also completed the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma, graduating with distinction and an Award For Excellence and highest marks achieved on the course. After graduation over the last couple of years I felt a strong desire to share my knowledge and passion with anyone who either want to learn or just enjoy the process of painting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page here on Skillshare. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch:

I mostly paint botanicals. but sometimes I experiment on other subjects too.

As I am not working on Patreon tutorials and Skillshare classes, I work on my personal projects that i just for me and usually are very detailed and complicated. As this large Peony painting...

After years of trying hundreds of materials and brushes, I finally went ahead and created my own brand Kolinsky Sable set of brushes. The set includes round brushes in sizes 6, 4, 2, 1, 0 and a Smoother brush, all with beautifully fine points for precise botanical work, except the Smoother brush. The Smoother has a small, slightly flatter tip, giving me extra stability and control when using the fine dry-brush techniques that you can see in majority of my painting.
