Well done, a great attempt! Yes, you are quite correct, leaving white spaces gives our pictures some sparkle. You have managed to get depth into your painting by darkening the foreground and using cool colours in the far distance. Use a little more 'dry brush' technique by just stroking the brush over the texture of the paper and allow the paint to only rub off on the surface of the paper. Using a rougher surface paper often helps to achieve this effect. You did a great job, it's amazing how few strokes of the brush we need to produce a pleasing effect. I once did a class with some students who were only allowed to make 20 strokes of the brush in their painting. They were the best paintings of the day! Thank you so much for posting your project.

I'm very beginner, it was fun to learn to use the Hake.
Above all, I see I didn't leave enough white space and brush strokes are really rough.
