ux principles web project

I am designing a college project about mental health using Figma for the UI design and Angular for the development. The project is based on key psychological and UX principles studied in the course.

The design particularly emphasizes:

  • Cognitive Load – Reducing mental effort by simplifying information and avoiding overwhelming users.

  • Hick’s Law – Limiting the number of options on the main page to help users make faster decisions.

  • Progressive Disclosure – Presenting information gradually to prevent overload and guide users step by step.

  • Fitts’s Law – Designing buttons and interactive elements to be easily reachable and accessible.

  • Empathy Gap – Considering users’ emotional states, especially in a mental health context.

  • Visual Anchors – Using focal points to guide user attention.

  • Control Stage Effect – Structuring the experience so users feel a sense of progression and control.

  • Aesthetic–Usability Effect – Creating a visually appealing interface that increases perceived usability.

  • Visual Hierarchy – Organizing elements clearly to improve readability and navigation.

The goal of this project is to create a supportive, intuitive, and user-centered mental health platform that applies psychological principles to enhance usability and user experience.
