I absolutely love what I learned in this class!  Thank you so much, Brooke! I can't wait to experiment with a few other water colors and learn more.  I am about 3 weeks in on procreate and I have taken this class and your procreate for beginners and I have learned a lot. 

My inspiration was fish (and loon) of Lake Superior.  I am part of a group  advocating for the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness and Lake Superior. We are working to protect it from a foreign copper mine, so my heart is interested in this kind of a theme.

For my watercolor I used google to help me learn more about some of the fish of the area.  

I took a picture of the watercolor with my ipad.

I used procreate masking to erase the background.

Then the magic happens!  Wow, you can put things on individual layers and dink to your delight.  I moved and changed the sized of some things.  I added more small fishies.  I put in lots of details in different ways.  Sometimes I did color drop, sometimes I used soft airbrush with low saturation. I played with the hue, brightness and saturation and blending layers.  One great brush I used was "aurora" under artistic to get some spots on the salmon in the lower right corner.  

I made my own color washes to get more of a flowy water look for the lake and then I color dropped to get the vibrant rich blue.
