gouache, fluff, zero coconuts

This illustration is inspired by lesson # 2 - “paint and respond” - except I went off script, as one does. I ran over ten minutes but I was really feeling it so I just kept rolling.

After laying down the blue, I inspected the shapes and this is what emerged. The orange lines were added to define, followed by lifting highlights and shifting the color and values with a water brush to give depth. I adore how it turned out - even if this chick’s hair is as big as the couch she’s lounging on to enjoy her book and music and houseplants and cats. In short… Heaven. gouache, fluff, zero coconuts - image 1 - student projectIn case you’d like to see the WiP stages too: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cs5EzR-rVTU/?igshid=ZWQyN2ExYTkwZQ==

I’ll be adding pics to the project as I go. I’m really enjoying this process. So glad I bumped into this class, Ashton. Thank you for sharing  :)

teacups and flowers - this one was kind of combined lessons... Repeating theme (9:35 mins) with a touch of coloring book after that dried (8:12).
