I love your palette Louise!!

beautiful... love your color palette. Those pretty flowers on the left and your center landscape are gorgeous!

Hello Louise, your project is so striking! The simple color palette goes a long way to bring all your pieces together. Although you painted all of these on a single page, they each hold their own quite well. The landscape in the center, which I'm guessing is your hero piece, works wonderfully as an anchor for all the rest. And yet each of the others tie in well, and are painted so nicely while featuring the colors from your palette in their own unique way. I don't think your center painting is too dark when you look at the dark area at the bottom of your bird piece and in the one with the bird nest. The other two are more simple, but still have a few dark values. I like that each painting is so different from the other, with various backgrounds and values. It makes the center painting stand out more, but since that's you're hero piece there's nothing wrong with that! The light-to-dark contrast really catches the eye and is a great example of good value work. I think the bird, although a more simple painting, looks right at home here. I can imagine it flying into its nest in one of the trees, with the flowers nearby. Great collection storytelling! Btw, thanks for the wonderful review! :-) I wanted to address the confusion you experienced about the neutral colors and the warm and cool colors. (I am going to see if I can add this info to the videos and to my workbook in case any other students have the same questions. So thanks for mentioning them!) Neutrals are muted tones with very little color if any. For example, yes, grey is considered a neutral, and so are varying versions of white, black, and brown. Muted tones of other colors could also be considered neutrals is some cases, but that's a more advanced lesson for another time.The color wheel consists of 1/2 warm and 1/2 cool colors: WARM: reds, yellows, and oranges COOL: blues, greens, violets Color theory is a whole other class and possibly a larger course since it's a lot to learn, but this will give you some basics to go on for now.Please let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks again for sharing your beautiful work Louise!Oh and do you mind if I share your project on my Instagram? Here&rsquo;s my completed project for this class - I couldn&rsquo;t decide which 3 of my ideas to use so I tried 5 of them, with varying degrees of success!&nbsp; I think my central picture is too saturated (compared to the others) but I do like how it turned out. And apparently birds are really hard to paint, I need more practice with them.&nbsp;
