You have captured Kerry beautifully.

Kerry seemed like a very special family member, and she will live on in your heart forever. I enjoy your use of that unique salted background again; it really complements pet portraits beautifully. Working in black and white can be challenging, but you executed it flawlessly, with just the right amount of shading and a subtle hint of red that perfectly enhances the red scarf.

Ahh. I see now…Lisa Long’s class. I remembered as soon as I saw your sweet Kerry. They really do have tons of character.  I should take this class. I would like to learn more about animal portrait painting.

So sorry for your loss, Kerry looks like a sweetheart, and you painted her beautifully.  I have done a lot of pet portrait memorials, including for my own furbabies that have passed. It's something that always brings me some comfort and transforms some of my grief into gratitude for all the special memories that surface while I paint.  I hope that you found some connection and comfort in your process, it's a beautiful tribute to Kerry.

Thanks for missing me! I am away for awhile helping or visiting with my mother on Saba Dutch Caribbean.  I brought sketch book but decided just take break except for checking posts. Back in NY late next week where I will be a novice all over again 

How bad...nice place to have to go to :)))...at least it probably hot ... unlike here ...cold and raining every day....:(((
