Volumetric Drawing
Project 1 - 25 Spheres

Now that I've bought a proper drawing board I am trying to practise a lot more drawing from the shoulder. I still need a lot of practise with spheres.
Project 2 - 25 Cylinders

Project 3 - Perspective

Project 4 - Simplified Still Life

Project 5.1 - Stacking Boxes

This was quite fun and sometimes very complicated, I would find I'd know what I wanted to achieve but wasn't sure how to figure it out.
Project 5.2 - Carving Boxes

This was more fun but certainly harder.
Project 6 - Organic Shapes

Project 7 - Simple Manmade Objects

It surprised me to find that a lot of things have got complicated shapes and it was a struggle to find simplified things! These objects: a Sharpener, a pot of paint and a bottle of perfume.
Project 8 - Complicated Manmade Objects

I actually thought this object would be too simple but I was wrong. Using orthographic sketches I really noticed many more details I overlooked the first time I looked at it. Getting the axis of the ellipse really taxed my brain, I think I did this right.

This collection of drawings, is a Rubix cube toy shaped like a pig. It is incomplete because none of us know how to solve a cube but I got the face intact. Despite looking difficult this was very easy for me. Perhaps because the ovoid is divided so neatly into thirds it felt easy to create each tile.

And finally the hardest item I chose for last. I have drawn PS4 controllers before but never have I tried to be accurate with measurements. I love the orthographic drawing process, the fact that you can establish proportions by extending the lines to make the side and bottom view. It is something I'm quite shocked I never knew how to do, never touched on this in any previous art lessons. When it came to the 3D drawing this stumped me greatly. However the orthographic drawings really helped, it almost felt mathematical and when I finally started getting the right lines down and bringing it together, well I'm pretty damned proud of this!
This has been a great course to add to my knowledge. Once again thank you to Brent for being a great teacher and laying out such tangible projects and guides.
