Thanks for sharing, Sandra! I’m absolutely in love with your “travel” spread! Inspiration is everywhere; indeed, you don’t have to travel far to find interesting subjects to paint. I’m glad you’re inspired by your surroundings and documenting your daily life in such a beautiful way. I love how you organized the spread and included a variety of subjects. Great job on trying different techniques and approaches (from life, reference pictures, and combining both). The result is fantastic, and I love the earthy color palette you’ve used across the whole spread! Including some writings and dates on your sketches is a great way to keep precious memories, so I’m glad you did that. Keep going with your illustrated journal; it’s a great way to improve your watercolor skills and preserve memories of your everyday life, which will feel so special when you look back at these pages years from now!

I'm not traveling so this is around my area and as a mom I sit at playgrounds a lot.
The cactus was painted entirely on-site.

The goat is painted from a picture. The goats were roaming the park behind the playground while we were there.
