Terrarium - Desert Version
For the class project, I wanted to build something different using the same techniques.
I encountered a few problems that I can mention :
- Going with a squared glass, I didn't use smoothing at the beginning, but it seems like smoothing is needed for caustics to be casted. Also, when using the smooth by angle modifier, I have to check the "ignore sharpness" box for it to work. I'm not sure why or what it's used for, but that worked.
- Biggest issues I faced is using the subdivition surface modifier. For almost all the objects I created, the subdiv always gave me weird result, so I ended up removing it on almost everything in this scene.
It was a fun little project, exactly what I needed to get back to 3D. One thing I notice though is... The outliner of my class project is in such a mess compared to the lesson project!! I have to work on that haha
