Spring Flowers in Light and Shadow
I wish I had more time to paint these days.
Spring flowers are my favorite, and this class has opened so many possibilities to paint them.
But for now, I only have these crocuses to show.
I had to leave out the forth flower from the composition because Starting in the center with my middle flower left me with too little space on the right.
I also cropped a bit from the top. This is how it looks uncropped.

I must say Ilike the final scanned result, although not so much the real painting. I went to dark in the beginning and I don't have enough contrast.
However this Langton Prestige hot press paper scans exremely well, so I am considering switching to using it more. It would be so easy to digitize my work compared to cold press paper where the texture shows up in scans and is really hard to remove.

One of my favorite aspects of the class was the warm up. Unfortunately I did it so long before the actual painting that I had forgotten what brushes I had used to make each stroke, which turned out to be a problem when I did the crocus leaves. I will definitely revisit that warmup exercise just before doing the next painting.
