A flying carpet character for a children's picture book I'm working on. His name Smotani in Croatian means "rolled up", but it also has the metaphorical meaning of "sloppy".
He's supposed to be funny, well-meaning and clumsy... a bit of a clownish / court jester character... hence the harlequin pattern on him.
