I really loved this class Kate! I appreciated how you made the process of painting a landscape so doable and easy to follow. This class helped me to stretch my creative muscles and look at color and texture outside the norm, as well as learn to simplify shapes (still struggling with that one!). 

My reference photo is one I took as my daughter and I hiked through an area of the Smoky Mountains. I love the asymmetrical slope with the stairs going through the center. I'm not sure if this painting is complete or not and I would love your feedback Kate! While I'm happy with some areas, the marks on the hilly area to the left of the stairs feel a little random to me...maybe different types of marks would be better? Also, I wasn't sure how best to handle the blur of trees off in the distance, so I left them out. I'd love your thoughts on how I can improve in this style. Thanks so much!
