Shining Illustrations

I couldn't do just one, so here's three!

Main project:

[St Cuthberts Mill's Saunders Waterford 300gsm 100% cotton cold-pressed paper in size 37x26 cm, Daniel Smith's tube watercolors and Derwent Inktense pencils]

First time doing "illustration" style, and I'm loving it! This one went well, I'm quite happy with it! I adore Olga's characters and style, they are so cute!

Bonus project:

[Baohong Masters Choice 300gsm 100% cotton cold-pressed paper in size 36x26 cm, Daniel Smith's and Van Gogh's tube watercolors]

Here I first tried to do the pencil part with pencils but you couldn't see any of it, so I painted over them and did that part with watercolors instead. Because of this the surroundings of the bench did go a bit darker than I intended, and I covered too much of the green grass too. Other than that it's fine, I guess. Still had fun. :)

Extra project:

[Baohong Masters' Choice 300gsm 100% cotton cold-pressed paper in size 30x22 cm, Daniel Smith's tube watercolors, Talens' white goauche, Derwent Inktense pencils]

I really fell in love with this one from Olga's project post and wanted to try it out even without a lesson! I hope you don't mind, Olga.

This was hard! I couldn't get it to work with just watercolors. The glowing, "dripping" part below the sun on top of the dark background gave me such a headache, I just couldn't get it bright enough with just watercolors, and I tried 3 times. I eventually compensated with the pencils, but I'm not happy with it. Olga's original is so gorgeous and fiery! I'd love to find out how exactly you did this one, Olga! Maybe another lesson just for this one? *praying hands emoji* :)

Loved the class, highly recommend! Thank you, Olga!
