With my self-portraits, I try to depict the search for identity. My face is deliberately anonymized through creative techniques, poses or objects; rules of exposure and composition are consciously broken, giving the photos an unsettling effect meant to provoke reflection. Despite the anonymity, I aim to express emotions that are usually suppressed.
