Sample Project: Dark watercolor backgrounds
Hi! I'm glad you're here :) and a special thank you to Skillshare for making the encore to this live class available.
Here is my example project and I'm hoping you will upload yours too- I'm always happy to give any commentary or answer Qs! Whether you're watching the replay or were here for the live session in March 2021, I would love for you to share a photo or scanned image of what we made together.

Here is a photo of my flower sketch, I saw so many great drawings in the zoom session too!
And here is a photo if the painting right after we finished the session!
These are the details I added once the paint dried:
- Metallic moons are made using Hydracolour watercolors. Full metallic paints guide is in my book Creative Watercolor and Mixed Media.
- Shadowing and plant details with Prismacolor premier colored pencils.
- Extra white stars using the white color from the Prismacolor set.
General paint brands & supplies I used:
- Sennelier watercolor pan set (artist grade)
- Indigo blue tube Winsor & Newton
- Payne's gray tube Daniel Smith
- Ochre tube Winsor & Newton
- Opera Pink tube Holbein
- Juniper Green concentrated radiant liquid watercolor Dr. Ph. Martin's
- Brushes: Princeton and Winsor & Newton
- Paper: Canson XL watercolor paper
