The scanned version is incredibly good! I can see all the luscious texture and colors! I'll try to find out why your photo is coming in sideways -- I've had that happen too and I think Skillshare IT can help.

I’m curious Jo, which painting is the one photographed in daylight? There is such a difference. You can see your color mixing and blending so well in the bottom photo, from the darker left to the lighter right side and your brushstrokes are more pronounced. I love the expression you captured on his adorable face! I have a terrible time taking photos of my paintings. I usually try and scan them, but I’m having troubles with my scanner lately. Like Brigette, I’m also going to check out the paper you talked about. I don’t know why I am not getting all of your uploads on my feed via email. I think this is the 2nd one of yours that didn’t show up :)

Yes, my photography skills are very lacking! The bottom one has that 'pinky' tinge to it and you can see where the flash caught certain colours!
The top one I took on my easel near a window, lol!! Having seen your comment about scanning, I may give that a go and add that too!! I shall have a page of Raccoons causing trouble!!!

I could use a photographer class as well lol….

Hi Joanne,This is brilliant! The fantastic brushwork for Rocky's fur and the shine in his eyes is ultra realistic. Great color mixing -- there's a lot of colors in raccoons and you did it well. Background has great texture and contrast. I like the way you sign your work, too-- very original.Super well done! (I'm sorry your photo is pinkish.)I'm curious...Did you use watercolor paper or canvas?Thanks for taking the time to submit your project, I really appreciate all the effort you've put in. Your'e a skilled artist.

I have now replaced the picture with one taken in daylight!
I used a premium canvas pad, made by Arteza ~ 100% Cotton.
It's actually really nice to paint on ~ one side is pre primed, the other isn't. My son bought me 3 of them in the Black Friday sale!

That photo has better color. Thanks for retaking it and resubmitting.   I’ll have to try that paper. I’ve used canvas in a pad (sorry, I can’t recall the brand) and I remember it being a little ‘slicker’ to paint on similar to painting on a wall that’s been painted with a gloss finish. Was that your experience? 
 (You have a good son for supporting your ART habit!!!)

It's lovely to paint on!
Taking the tape off and picking it up is so strange the first time as it's 'floppy' .
I do like to see brush strokes and this works well for that!
I do have lovely sons ~ 4 of them ~ 2 at home although grown (they're not daft!)

The signature comes from my old mobile hairdressing business (before children!) I was always known as 'Just Jo' and it stuck!!
